I had cookies there on my vacation while visiting family. I think I would have gotten better cookies if I would have gone to Ralph's and picked up a pre made dozen. I don't live in this city so I guess I cant make a return recommendation.

I went here a few weeks ago while I was on vacation. Terrible cookies! The cookies were burnt on the bottom and they tasted pretty dry. I decided to try some of the cookies my friend bought and they were equally terrible. As bad as the cookies were though, the service was worse! How this place stays in business I don't know. Don't be fooled -- it's not "Just Cookies" it's "Just Terrible".

Terrible service, terrible people and terrible baked goods.

While visiting my best friend Anne in Indianapolis we decided to go in to this bakery which is just down the street from her apartment. Having gone there and tried the chocolate chip cookie and oatmeal raisin I would not recommend "Just Cookies". The chocolate chip was stale and overly sweetened, that oatmeal raisin lacked flavor ( I usually love oatmeal raisin too :( ) The cookies we tried tasted were dry and overly sweet. The person at register was also rude and impatient. Do not go here! Regardless of the anti-gay thing!

Just Cookies always has delicious cookies! I have worked downtown for 15 years and have been buying from them just as long. My personal favorite is the butterscotch cookies. My friends and I think they are to die for. We have tried to bake these on our own, and have completely failed. No comparison. Great cookies!!

These cookies were pretty good :) I had an M&M cookie. It was right out of the oven so it was hot and soft! My only complaint was how much they cost. They are defiantly not inexpensive.

Great cookies. Some of these posts are absolutely hilarious. If you can believe much of them the chamber of commerce should give Just Cookies a reward for the amount of tourist they have brought to Indy not to mention the city market. Lol. But no reward for just lies. Back for another before the week is out. Hope to see all these frequent flyers doing the same. Not.

Had two cookies from here for desert after eating at Papa Roux! Macadamia and Chocolate Chip! Both were fairly fresh and tasted good. Give them a shot!

I've probably bought cookies here 5-6 times, usually just 1-2 and only if I happen to be in the City Market for lunch. Oatmeal-butterscotch cookies are one of my favorite things, and they bake those here. Most places only do oatmeal-raisin. They also have toffee cookies. For cookies, the price seems about right to me. They're large cookies, but not "food challenge" huge, and they're about a dollar each. The cookies are soft and moist, and taste pretty good. However, the person who gets the cookies is kinda rude. No smiling at all. "Here." when your bag of cookies is handed over. She gives off the vibe that it's a real chore to be waiting on you. Not sure if this woman is the owner or an employee (older-ish, white, darker hair) but I walk away feeling like I was a jerk to bother her. No "Have a nice day" or "Thank you" as you leave either. Cookies here are cheaper, fresher, softer, and better than Shapiro's but I have had better cookies elsewhere, including in Indianapolis. This is also the place that refused to do an order of cookies because the cookies somehow compromised their Christian values (evidently baking "Pride" cookies is tantamount to having gay sex). The large amount of 1-star reviews written in 2010 (some later) from reviewers all around the nation are likely due to this. There was a LOT of media attention. If the counter worker was friendly and the owners weren't bigoted, this would be a 4-star review. ...maybe she's rude just TO ME because she think I "look gay"?... I guess I'll never know.

I tried the Snicker doodle cookie. It was just okay. I expected way better since I was watching them make the cookies from scratch. It was pricey too for not being very good. If you want a great snicker doodle cookie, go to Panera.

Despite the numerous bad reviews of Just Cookies, I needed something sweet after eating lunch at Indy City Market and they were located smack dab in the middle of all the food vendors. So, they won by default. The variety of cookie options was tempting, so I bought a half dozen mix to last for the week, consisting of Milk Chocolate Chip, White Macadamia Nut, Snickerdoodle, Chocolate Peanut Butter, Iced Sugar and M&M. Minus the iced sugar, they were all pretty good and, thankfully, soft. So, no major issues with their product here, even though they were about a buck apiece.

Google homophobic and Just Cookies. They discriminate and should be prosecuted. Vote with your dollars.

Bad service, bad attitudes, bad cookies. Pretty much sums it up.

Just moved back to Indiana and was happy about finding a decent cookie spot until I found out about this: chicagonewsreport.com/20… . People, including the owners, seem to argue that private business owners have a right to serve who they like. Although this may be legally true, I am appalled by the way in which they assert their "values." I will not be returning to this cookie joint again.

Ignore the bad reviews. I got 2 cookies for less than $2. 1 oatmeal butterscotch and 1 snickerdoodle. I am saving the snickerdoodle for later, but ate the oatmeal butterscotch on my walk back home. Enough butterscotch to leave you wanting a little more, but not enough to overpower the oatmeal flavor. Just the perfect amount of salt....if a cookie has too little or too much salt, it's noticeable. And it's also noticeable when it's perfect...and in this case it was. Pretty good variety, you should be able to find something to satisfy your sweet tooth for under $1 here.

I was under the impression that yelp was a place to evaluate the quality of a product being offered by a business and not a bulletin board to deliberately post lies. What a strange coincidence that 5 people, all with the same negative opinion, would comment on a business on the same days in a short period of time. It's an even stranger coincidence that two people would post the exact same review. This smells of a smear campaign rather than "real reviews." LA, James, Roman, Eric, and DFW - what day did you visit this booth at City Market? What cookies did you try? Frankly, I doubt you have ever been to Just Cookies. I have been going to Just Cookies for over 15 years. The cookies are always delicious. The owners are good, friendly people. They get to know their customers and care about providing a good quality product. Almost every time I am there buying a cookie, someone else will come by, and David or Lily will greet them and get them their "usual" cookie before they even ask for it! The service is excellent and the cookies are moist and yummy. Try the snickerdoodle or the chocolate chip (more like big chocolate chunk)! Please respect the mission of yelp and take your hateful comments elsewehere.

I just had a to-die-for milk chocolate chip cookie that tasted like it came out of my grandma's oven.

I went there when I was on vacation and it was TERRIBLE. The owners were real jerks too.

This is by far the worst place I could imagine to buy sweet treats in the city. I don't want to be graphic but suffice it to say the opinions of other reviewers here on the quality of the products and the rudeness of the staff is accurate. Spare yourself the agony and visit one of the dozens of other bakeries around town.

I visited Just Cookies to get some chocolate chip cookies for a friend and I before a concert at the (awesome) Murat. Specialty bakeries are the best, unfortunately, this place was the worst. For cookies at this price, they should be better than the discount day-old cookies at the supermarket.. much better, even! But these were, somehow, worse. Not just dry, but bland. I couldn't believe that a bakery specializing on just one item could do them so poorly. And while the woman was not explicitly rude, she certainly wasn't friendly either (not even a smile.) To Just Cookies, I'll Just say No!

No lie-posting here...I'm evaluating the quiality of a product being offered by a business...it's horrible. I've been there on more than one occassion and given it the benefit of the doubt....which I now regret. God awful service and terrible tasting "treats." I'd rather boil shoe leather and coat it in icing. Skip right on by this place.

The City Market experience is not complete without a visit to Just Cookies! In my 10 years on the east coast have not been able to find a snickerdoodle that can compete with the ones from the Hooiser state. A really close second is the Just Cookies' chocolate chip cookie. I usually only have time for a short visit, so I end up getting both! Liz, I agree with your previous post and it is doubtful the people with negative comments actually ate the merchandise. Quit the smear campaign and just have a cookie!

Best place to get cookies! The owners are wonderful! Any review of bad customer service is an outright lie!

Yelpette loved the chocolate chip cookies, saying the chocolate was really good quality. Nice service.
