You know, it's mall food, but it wasn't bad. Both my boys had kids meals and the portions were good. Food was hot and fresh. They have a Pepsi pxp machine too.

The last couple times I'd been to Castleton Square Mall, I'd noticed the "Coming Soon - Indy Burger" sign in the mall's food court. With the exception of Houlihan's, Castleton has been fairly light in the burger department and I'd been hoping that they'd attract a decent burger joint along the lines of Keystone at the Crossing's Elevation Burger. Unfortunately, this ain't it. The recently opened Indy Burger looks and feels like a low-budget indie burger joint and has a decidedly "diner" feeling to it. I'm unsure when Indy Burger finally opened, but when I was out catching a flick tonight I checked into the mall for a quick bite to eat and there it was ready to go. I couldn't locate a phone number or website for Indy Burger, but it looked fully functional with two employees working out front and one behind the scenes. As you might expect, Indy Burger focuses on burgers and offers your usual fried alternatives including various burger alternatives, chicken strips, and a couple other things. They also offer a few sides. Most sandwiches are offered as a combo that includes fries (or onion rings with a slight upcharge) and a drink (Pepsi products). It looked like most combos ranged from $6.50 - $8.00. I ordered a cheeseburger with fries and a diet pepsi. The cheeseburger came either as a 1/4 lb. or 1/2 lb. option (I opted for 1/4 lb. as I've not been eating as much red meat these days). The two-stars here are largely in recognition of solid service. The two young women working the counter were friendly and helpful. They weren't enough to overcome what was an incredibly disappointing and very run-of-the-mill combo that was overpriced at right around $7.69. The burger tasted like a frozen patty with no unique taste to it. The beef itself was far too chewy and lacking in texture with the exception of the very last bite, which was oddly crispy. The fries were of a shoestring variety, but they tasted like your standard Ore-Ida type fries with, once again, nothing unique about them. The burger actually stuck to the paper upon which it was set, and the overall feeling was that I was dining at an overpriced greasy diner. I suppose I can hope that this is just a case of a new restaurant that hasn't worked out its kinks yet, but I can't fathom that with as many options as surround the mall that customers are going to willingly fork over that much cash for such disappointing food when Houlihan's, which serves a much better burger, is in the same mall and offers better food at only a slightly higher price.

Why is this place so good? I'm addicted and I don't know why. No big reinventions, just fast food made with love or some other secret ingredients that make it much better than that place with the Golden Arches. Best sweet potato fries I've ever had. Hands down. My son loves their kids meals complete with goldfish crackers and his choice of fun little toys.

I wasn't sure what to expect, honestly I saw the orange colored sauce on the menu picture and thought "oh please let this be like in and out burger". As I was standing in line I looked at the other reviews and largely agree with their assessment. I ordered the namesake Indy Burger combo and it was very close in quality and taste to Burger Kings whopper. The fries were right in line with Burger King a well. There were only a handful of people in front of me in line, but it still took about 10 minutes to receive my food after ordering. If your expectation is Burger King-esque, then you'll be okay. Just be prepared to pay upwards of $10 for a combo meal. It was just okay, certainly nothing special. I'll echo another reviewer with "one and done".

Untoasted buns, beef cooked who knows when and then microwaved like it was expertly prepared at a gas station convenience store. One and done.

The food is surprisingly good. I tried it the first time being skeptical and now I keep going back! I get the Indy Burger every time. It is addictive. The Indy burger sauce is so good. I even dip my fries in it. The toppings on the sandwich are always good and fresh. The pickles are amazing! I took one star off simply because one time I had to wait around 8 minutes. Although I would not want my food to be done in 30 seconds like McDonalds. At least I know it's fresh! The sizes of their burgers are big and their prices are right in line with the other places in the mall. I would definitely recommend this place to my friends and family. I want to try everything on their menu but I have to get sick of the Indy burger 1st and I think that's going to take awhile. It has ruined other fast food places for me. I haven't stepped foot in a Steak 'n Shake, mcdonalds or a five guys since it opened.
