I found myself here playing music a couple weeks in a row. Last week I just came and played, but one of my band mates talked about how great the grouper was, so Rick and I decided to try the place out "for reals" this time. I wasn't sure what the procedure was (seat yourself or wait for a hostess) so I looked for someone (they were sparsely staffed) and asked. She was warm and friendly and told us we could sit wherever we'd like. I wanted to try the grouper, so I barely needed to look at the menu. They offer it two ways...on a sandwich (which ends up being a very nice sized piece of fish on a hoagie bun) or as a dinner - no bread. I took the no bread option with a side salad and steamed vegetables. You can also get it seasoned with cajun or lemon pepper. I opted for cajun. The salad was a nice size. They don't have any fat free dressings, but I went with the raspberry vinaigrette (as close as it gets) and was not disappointed. And the grouper...outstanding. Cooked perfectly and great flavor! I was a little leary of the steamed veggies when they came out. Appearance wise they weren't great to look at. But flavor and texture wise they were darned near perfect. I was completely impressed with the food here. If I find myself in the area and I'm craving fish, I'll keep them in mind for sure. The lower star rating is simply because they seemed inadequately staffed. There was a LOT of waiting going on. The people there seemed to know what they were doing...there just weren't enough of them. I must say, I read the other reviews of Gallagher's and was stunned compared to my experience. Besides...I always take establishments like this with a grain of salt because their primary objective is to sell alcohol. If the food is decent, that's a plus.

I ordered pizza from here tonight, based on the good reviews the pizza got. The pizza was awful. The crust is clearly something you could buy at the store to make your own at home. However, the only reason I am even writing a review is because halfway through eating, I took a bite and in the middle of my piece of pizza was two long black hairs!!!!!!! Absolutely disgusting! Beware, do not order pizza from here!

I would have given this place 3 stars just for the pizza. The service in this place is so far below par it's embarrassing. A group of 6 of us went there for lunch, I don't think I'll ever go back. I almost started waiting on myself and others. Anytime I wanted a refill I had to go the bar and wait or yell at someone to fill my glass. Very poor service

The pizza is nothing short of amazing. Lately, I have trying other things off their menu since they deliver everything for free, and everything has been very dry. If you want cheeseburgers and fries delivered for dinner, call Teddy's after 5, if you want an amazing pizza, gallaghers is the best pizza in the area.

Go for the pizza! Most of the other food items can be found at any bar around town. The pizza has a thin crust that is loaded with any pizza topping you can imagine. Served hot and delicious.

Great place. Try THE SINK pizza. You won't be disappointed. #G2TriviaNight is on Thursdays starting promptly at 8pm! LOVE IT.

5 star pizza. 2 star atmosphere and everything else. You really just want to order their pizza and/or baked sandwiches, breadsticks, etc when you eat here. Their pizza really is great and The Sink is wonderful. A very filling pizza but it should be since it weighs 20 lbs. I want to love this place due to being a neighborhood bar but I'm just never overwhelmed by the atmosphere or dining service. I highly recommend carryout.

Once again, I find myself torn between 2 and 3 stars. The food was hit and miss, My wife's meal....grouper, was OUTSTANDING. Well prepared, as were the sides. Not only a hit, but a home run on this meal! Mine wasn't so good. I got the breaded tenderloin, and I'll say it wasn't awful....but it wasn't excellent, either. Nothing about this sandwich stood out. I'd not order it again. The onion rings were quite good, well above average, and I wouldn't hesitate to order them again. Our service was prompt and friendly, although they did seem to be a bit understaffed. All in all, our experience was good enough that we'll go back again when we're on the south side, but wouldn't make a special trip down here.

Had the pizza and have to say it wasn't very good. I would of rather had a frozen one. I also got chicken wings to go. When I got them home they were raw! Salmonella anyone. I would only recommend to avoid this place. Way better options available.

Game 7 of pacer-heat AND you have a groupon out but you only have one server? We will never be back. The server was nice, apologetic and embarrassed but that doesn't make up for lousy management. We waited 2.5 hrs on all our food. Granted, there were 12 of us but we ordered 3 pizzas and a couple other things. The other things were out hours before pizza. We kept having to remind them, the waitress said the kitchen help left at 10 and owner was cooking food. This a great example of BAD ownership and or management. They discounted th e pizzas only, by a mere 15%. Honestly? We were here 3 hrs and you give 15% off a couple pizzas? Those pizzas should have been free. Even after groupon we dropped 100 not including tip........lousy lousy lousy!

If I could give this place 0 stars I would. Good lord what an abysmal, even laughable attempt at a restaurant. The service is nothing short of remarkably awful. So bad that one has to wonder if they're actually TRYING to perform so poorly. I waited 40 minutes for the wrong item. In an empty restaurant with literally no one else eating, two people behind the bar, and 3 in the kitchen that I could see, they still managed to be some of the most incapable restaurant staff I've witnessed. Look, go down the street to Barlowes or ...hell go ANYWHERE within a quarter mile. I'll be happy to see this disaster close someday. Which I imagine would be soon.

I wouldnt even give this one star. I had the same experience as Diane J. Also took advantage of the groupon thought it was a great deal. Only one server working and a bartender. No management staff working at all. Its sad that a month later they stil have one server!! Waited 30 min for someone to even acknowlwedge us. No one even came and got our drink orders or said hello! The waitress looked very apologetic. Why would anyone put there employees through that?! Poor management! There were many tables opened, but they were all dirty. It was a horrible experience. Please, save your money. Groupon not even worth it.

Pretty impressed with the food. I really like this place, but for some reason, I almost never think of going here. ================================================================ Edit: I took away a star after my lunch today. I sat at the bar and ordered potato skins because I was in a hurry, they were out, but they had baked potatoes?!? I ordered two, and it took a little over half an hour, FOR BAKED POTATOES!!!!! They only had one waitress that I saw, and they needed at least three. I would go again, however never when I am in a hurry.
