Meh. It's ok for breakfast food, nothing really stands out, menus is huge and covers the entire spectrum from waffles to burgers. Place is packed, but they move people in and out quickly, food came out fast, like they knew what I was thinking and prepared it before fast. Price is cheap, wife got the skillet, I went with the omelet, eating healthy here is a real challenge but I don't think that's the objective. I've eaten here twice now, all in all I prefer Lincoln Sq over this place. If you want a lot of food for not a lot of money it's your place.

I've only eaten breakfast here but loved everything I have tried. This is a standard diner. It is super full most of Sunday. I usually aim for off hours. Portions are good size for the price. Its not a fancy place or a quiet place. Its not super big. Sometimes service has been excellent and most times just fine. This is one of my favorite breakfast places to eat in Indy. I usually eat a skillet or some combination of eggs, potatoes, pancake s, etc.

Standard little breakfast joint with a surprisingly expansive menu. They're best at brunch - eggs, bacon and pecan waffle were all good, along with boo thing's strawberry stuffed crepes and hash browns - and the coffee is tasty and readily refilled. Pricing is reasonable - all that was around $20 - and although it can get a bit crowded and there's often a small wait on the weekends it's somewhere we enjoy for a quiet brunch in town. My only minor complaint is that our coffee cups were dirty, though the waitress fixed it before we really realized what was up... And when it's busy there's a lot of chatter going on in a rather small restaurant, but that may not be an issue on weekdays.

I really feel silly for writing a bad review for a greasy diner. This place was your standard breakfast diner so really maybe I should put the blame on myself. I hesitated to order the Eggs Benedict but did anyway. Oh, no, just don't. It was an egg benedict soup and the hollandaise wasn't that great. I couldn't even eat it. But the hash-browns were good.

Flap Jack's. Local chain. Not bad. You get what you pay for. I've been to a few other locations, so I knew what to expect. If you dine not on a Saturday/Sunday AM, there won't be a wait. Case in point my visit to this location on a Tuesday morning. My party had a choice of tables, and immediate drink service once we sat. Food came out great. I'd never hat a skillet before and will do so from now on! Couldn't hardly eat my "side" of fluffy pancakes that came with. The location is fairly small for a Flap Jacks, but still same quality you'd expect.

Margarine is not butter; liquid cheese is not cheddar. A pancake place that doesn't serve warm syrup is not a real pancake place. Rated high - disappointed!

Flap jack is a great breakfast spot. It's not too expensive and has a pretty good quality of food. Today we went, its Valentine's Day and the place was packed but they still got people in and out at a steady pace. The only downside was that the waitress sat us down, gave us food and drinks and that was it. We really weren't waited on and didn't get additional things we wanted. But like I said it was busy. So I say try it. I got the house scrambler. Delicious.

Very ordinary. Yes, you do get a large helping of carbs with each order.

Flap Jacks is an ordinary breakfast joint that doesn't necessarily stand out to me. The portions are large and the price is low, so that is a plus! If you do go there definitely get the hungryman skillet, best thing on the menu.

This is a really popular place, but the food is pretty basic, and because of the rapid turnover, the floors and booths are not always clear of spilled good.. I am not crazy about the xenophobia inherent in having "Freedom fries" on the menu, although perhaps they think that will attract the crowd they want to cater to. The blueberry pancakes are, well, pancakes with blueberry dessert topping slopped all over them.

I've been here several times now, and I'm never surprised to see the place packed. On the way to my table (only had to wait once, and it was very brief) I'm sure to pass atleast 3 beautiful looking meals on the way to a sure-to-be-satisfied patron. They serve very quickly. I love grits; can't always find them, but certainly can here. The portions are great. I tend to get along well with food, and I never accuse the food of not doing its part in our relationship while here. It certainly shows up to the plate.

All time favorite breakfast joint! Looks like a hole in the wall but your taste buds will thank you!

Portions are really large, prices are fairly small. This is a completely passable place to have breakfast, but beware of a Saturday or Sunday morning as there will be a wait. Seek out the girl with the notebook, give her your name, and try not to judge the clothing choices of the other patrons while you wait. I'm sure those willing to wear Crocs in public with sweatpants and a Christmas tshirt in MARCH enjoy the "freedom fries" on the menu. I had eggs benedict, and it was fine. They ask how you want your eggs cooked (over medium for me) and I appreciate that. My friend got some kind of skillet: Hungry Man's, I believe. I'm not a fan of skillets...to me, they're the sloppy cook's omelet. I'm pretty sure his skillet had at LEAST 1000 calories...which is ridiculous. It should be called "Obese Man's Skillet"...but whatever. The menu is pretty vast though, and there are lots of different types of veggie toppings and also egg whites offered, so I'm pretty sure everyone will be able to find something they like and that can fit within a normal person's caloric intake for the day. You might have to go a la carte though.

We eat here often. Great service and great food at a decent price. Portions are generally large and staff is very accommodating. Their daily lunch specials are the best. Find the chalkboard when you arrive, it usually has several daily entrees available. They also have an extensive breakfast and lunch menu. I've never eaten at any of the other flapjacks, but believe this one (off of Madison) has to be the one if the best. Eat on. Cheers!

This is a great place for breakfast. The food is always good and the prices are very affordable. Be prepared to wait a little while if you go on a weekend though. They get incredibly packed. For the most part, the staff handles the overwhelming crowds and you still get your food in no time. I suggest trying the pancakes. There's a reason they named the place Flapjacks.

This place has the best food. Omelette' sate insanely big and come with hash browns and pancakes. Leangela is an awesome server. Can't wait to come back.

Ordered strawberry crepes and was shocked to discover in my crepes that they did not use fresh fruits. Crepe on the whole also didn't taste good. Pretty disappointed having heard so many good comments about this place.

Service was good once we got seated. A little chaotic getting a table-too many people handing out tables with no clue as to who got there first. Food was what you would expect. Huge menu selection-good place to take a diverse group.

I usually dine in here when I'm in the mood for a hearty breakfast. The food is consistently well-prepared and tasty. Fluffy scrambled eggs. Crispy bacon (I request that). Golden hash browns that aren't too greasy. Well-balanced biscuits and gravy with sizable biscuits. The gyros omelet is entirely worthwhile, especially if you like olives. My father is a big fan of their burgers. He has quite a few dietary restrictions and Flap Jacks has been attentive about handling them. Both for dine in and carry out, I have never received anything short of excellent service. Just the right ratio of friendly and "on it" that one hopes for in this kind of place. This is easily among the top South Side diners. I'll be going back again tomorrow.

Welcome to breakfast lottery folks. It's been 3 out of 4 so far, meaning three positive experiences for my friends and one absolutely lousy experience. Each time the place has been packed, but we managed to find one of the few remaining tables. Service was good every time, except our most recent visit which was embarrassing since I was treating out of town guests. The server could not be bothered to smile or be cordial. The table was sticky and there was a hair stuck in the unidentifiable goo. My salad was served with a large packet of ranch dressing that I needed to tear open and add myself. There was a dead nat possibly added to compensate for lack of fresh tomato or lettuce. In previous visits the skillets were steaming hot, the eggs cooked to order and the pancakes perfect in size and flavor. Not this time. Not even close. Good luck with your experience but no guarantees. Unfortunately this most recent visit will be my last.

This is the ONLY breakfast place I have found that will truly make my hash browns crispy as I always order them. Usually other places I get mushy hash browns, but here they cater to the customer's request. Well done!!!

Great food and service. The only thing that I have a problem with is that they are extraordinarily busy on the weekends and there really isn't a section for those waiting to be sat. I definitely recommend the Mediterranean Skillet or any waffle, delicious!

I loved flapjacks when they first opened in Brownsburg and now i love them even more for their Mexican Breakfast Burrito, Hollandaise sauce, bountiful breakfasts, and Gyro Sandwiches. This place is always packed which should tell you something. Their service is great, the prices are excellent. There is absolutely NO reason why you shouldn't dine here.

There was a wait, but the servers offered us coffee in the lobby. The waiting area was extraordinarily tiny - much too small for a busy Sunday breakfast. Generous sized parking lot. Feels safe. The food portions are generous and the prices are what you'd expect. I had the Chef's Crepes (with cherries and sour cream.) Wow. They were honest to god amazing. The crepe was delicate and the sour cream/cherry combination was a perfect ratio of sour and sweet. I also ordered a sliced tomato and a biscuit which tasted fresh. My partner ordered the Hawaiian Pancakes. For the first time he said that he didn't need to add anything else to the pancake - it was perfect as is. No syrup - nothing. The pancake is topped with shaved coconut. Service was friendly. I could tell that he was very busy with a lot of tables but I felt that all our needs were well attended. I will definitely be back.

I always split an order of 2 eggs over easy, pancakes, sausage links, english muffin, and fresh fruit with my daughter. The meals are plus sized, served fast, and priced reasonably. The staff is always friendly and the crowd is a mix of retirees, college students, and families.

Overall food was very tasty and service was friendly and attentive! Roberta was our server, she was pleasant and thorough, one of our party needs to be gluten free and Roberta took the extra step and looked at the potato pancake ingredients to see if they had flour (they do!) She also ran a forgotten cell phone out to our car as we were leaving! All the servers joined together and our coffee cups were never empty (and the coffee was hot!). I would eat there again! A very pleasant experience!

Me and my wife have visited several times but may not return. The food is just average except for the Mexican skillet which is amazing with chorizo sausage. Coffee is always Luke warm and pancake are just average. But the biggest issue is the service. There are a few amazing servers and few horrific and rude servers.

My strawberry pancakes had more in common with something you'd get at Dairy Queen than what you'd expect from a proper fruit pancake. No fruit to be found in the pancake itself and a generous slathering of sickly sweet strawberry syrup complete with 5 rather unpleasant looking squishy strawberries that had obviously spend most of their days bathing in the aforementioned syrup. I ended up eating the untainted pancake hiding on the bottom. My eggs were eggs, nothing notable. The biscuits and gravy were also underwhelming, I immediately though 'Large metal can'. An incredible failure as far as their namesake goes.

Above average breakfast at a below average cost. Doesn't cater to large groups very well (very long wait times).

Well-known breakfast joint with so-so food. Plenty of breakfast options, but food ordered had been unnecessarily greasy. Noisy, and often packed, this restaurant is not the best you can do, but certainly not the worst either.

One of those great hole in the wall breakfast spots. Cheap, good coffee, friendly service and delicious crepes.

Food was awesome and came out quickly, service was excellent, and they have a wonderful young lady named Sara who refilled our coffee at any given moment, and worked the room like a pro making sure everyone was taken care of. Crepes, skillets, and mush were awesome!!

Flapjacks has got to be the best breakfast place on the southside. There is always a wait on Sunday mornings. It is well worth the wait. Their menu is very extensive and everything tastes like it came from a 50s diner. They have everything from crepes to Banana split waffles to your eggs and bacon type plates. The service is fast and the waitresses are friendly. My only suggestion would be to extend the seating/dining area.

I have had 3 successful pancake pick-up experiences from FlapJacks... Their pancakes are just right, especially during a polar vortex. They are fluffy, sweet, and nap-inducing. Consistently tasty. One of these days I'll have to actually dine in. Oh, and I probably need to lay off the pancakes and switch it up to an egg white omelet, perhaps... bathing suit season is approaching.

We're from out of town and went here around 10:30 on a Sunday, it was packed, and there was a line. (Relatives ahead of us got a table.) Service up until the end was surprisingly fast (we had to wait a bit for someone to ask for to-go boxes). Food came out prepared correctly and order was correct. Service was a team effort between different staff members. The menu had a nice assortment of breakfast diner food, and prices seemed typical. I'd recommend based on efficiency despite crowd, menu variety, meets "diner dining" expectations, and reasonably priced.

I wish the place was bigger and open longer hours. The prices are reasonable , but always have to wait for a table. Which is a good sign. That means people love the food and service.

Heard so much about this place, I decided to forgo my ritual to cracker Barrel and visit. Please was packed when we got there but we got sat fairly quickly. Hostess was cheerful and bubbly. Our server however was definitely not a warm person. Her greeting (if you could call it that) was terse and impersonal. I've worked in the biz on and off for over 18 years and coming to the table with a coffee pot saying, "coffee? Yes or no?" is not a proper greeting. She looked unhappy with her job and her life. Upon ordering a Ribeye cooked medium and receiving it, I noticed it was overcooked. When informing my server about it, she took the plate away saying, "they got your eggs wrong anyway." that tells me she knew my food was wrong and still brought it to me anyway. #NotCool. After sometime had passed, I got the steak back and cutting into it, it gushed blood. It was cooked medium rare... Not medium as I requested. My server was nowhere to be found and after 10 min of sitting there craning my neck to get someone's attention, I finally got a nice server's attention who took my food back to be fixed once again. My server finally walks back my way and didn't even acknowledge me. I flagged her down to let her know I had to send the steak back again and she replied, "Oh I Know." Ummm. If you knew I sent my food back, why walk by me and ignore me? Couldn't you have came to see if I was ok? I finally got my food and it was cooked right. 5 min after that she walks by, drops the check on the table and keeps walking. I left about 20% tip ($5 on $25) for 2 reasons. 1. Because I've worked in Hospitality for over 18 years. 2. The busser (who she has to tip out) doesn't deserve to not get tipped right because of her poor service. This was one of the most horrible experiences I've ever had and I will never go back again. If there is one thing I've learned working as a Bartender and Server, is you can fix a bad drink or bad food, and still make the experience a great one for a guest. You can't fix bad service though. That will spoil the experience whether the food is good or bad. I'd give no stars if I could. :/ Wow!

LIGHTNING FAST SERVICE!!! Had breakfast in a Saturday morning. Had to wait about fifteen to be seated BUT once they got my order, had my good in five minutes. Yeah, they're cooking tons of French toast and pancakes and omelets but mine FLEW OUT!!! SN: my son kept changing his mind. Even after he saw my pancakes and decided he didn't want French toast , our server was patient and was willing to change my food AFTER we had got it. GREAT JOB, KELLY!!!!!!
