I've now been here twice, and enjoyed it both times. The first time I had a sandwich, the second a pizza. I like that all the sandwiches and pizzas are $10. It just makes decisions that much simpler. I had the cajun pizza most recently and that was nice and hot, I really enjoyed it. The beer list is especially fantastic, and you can get a flight of all the drafts for a very reasonable price. I'll be back.

Great local beer selection. Last evening I had the pleasure of partaking in a Sunking Mocha Mac - a Wee Mac with coffee and chocolate notes. I love that I'm only able to find these beer gems at local establishments. I'm torn about the food. The pretzel sticks were amazing and had the right amount of salt on them. Not a fan of the beer cheese but the havarti dill sauce was good. For dinner I ordered the drunken chicken. The chicken came on a baguette and was topped with onions and mushrooms. It wasn't bad but it also wasn't Anything to write home about. Thay said, the mac and cheese is AMAZING. It is a white cheddar Mac, perfectly creamy and seved piping hot (i believe it is baked). As others have mentioned the service was pretty slow.

I have eaten here three times. It is quickly working its way up my list of go-to places. First, they have an outstanding draft beer list. Really outstanding. Thoughtful choices usually represent the highlights of the selected breweries and there is enough variety to match any mood. The perfect thing to eat with the beer is the pretzel stick appetizer. I don't think they're quite as good as Taste of Philly pretzels, but they are very good. Soft and chewy inside with a nice crust on the outside. Here's a tip: I don't love the sauces that come with them (and it looks like other yelpers don't either), so ask for some spicy mustard. They have a fantastic mustard that is heavy on the horseradish that is healthier and tastier than the two dips that come with the app. Paired with a Flat 12 1/2 Cycle IPA you have heaven on the table. The food is generally good, not outstanding. The pizzas are okay. The campfire burger with goat cheese and onions is alright. But the Bison burger dredged in stout is phenomenal. When cooked properly (medium-rareish), this burger is one of the best in town - if not THE best in town. If it's over-cooked, it's not great. Another highlight for Fountain Square, where you can park a reasonable distance from your vehicle for free and enjoy local businesses and local beers. Love it.

Decent beer selection (12 locals on tap). DAMN awesome pretzels (sauces just OK). Average food otherwise (although the menu is interesting and I will be back to try more). Yes, I love parentheses, and I find End Of to be A-OK (three stars)!

The beer list is great, the location is great, but the food I tried was not so great. I am not a fan of burgers served on bread. The chili was not my style, a little more like Cincinnati with some weird sweetness going on. A small piece of ahi tuna not on the plate, but between 2 thick sliced pieces of what bread? Totally weird. The pretzel breadsticks are good, but the dipping sauces are a little odd, too thick. It's like they are so close, but not not just there for me. Breakfast is still served Saturday and Sunday mornings. The only disappointing change to the breakfast menu is the change in potatoes. They have switched to the fingerling potatoes served with the entrees at dinner. They are good, but the previous salted spuds were better.

Horrible dining experience. The service was slow and there was a table of small children pounding on the table next to us throughout dinner. This business is amateurish and has no idea how to provide a pleasant dining experience.

My life is changing. And with good reason I'm happy it won't ever be the same... Before I get into the glorious details of End of the Line, let me explain a few things. I've been sick (reaaaally sick) and nothing I tried could make me feel better...for eight long exaggerated months. I decided to put all my Obamacarewebsite skills to use and actually just see my Dr. After a ton of tests, needles, and begging for pills (not really...kind of. maybe.) we discovered some strong diabetes that's been chilling in my body for decades. Why I never got tests before idk I was young and dumb?! So, here I am at the end, The End of The Line..literally and in other words with, food. Now, I know I have had more fried food then a Midwest state fair, however aside from that - some people tend to just get all diabetic and stuff. People like me and maybe even you, and I want you to know, it's ok to take 20 minutes staring at a menu, calculating carbs, or asking what drink products are sugar free- unless (of course) you are already annoying then no, just get water and pipe down!!!! After constantly feeling sick I just didn't eat, and quickly realized how much of a crappy idea that was. Eat! You need eat. It's a slow start but dammit I'm a 2015 Elite and I'm not going to let the year pass me by loathing over salad! I'm going to eat (what I can) hope it's stays down and write about it later!!!! I'm very happy to have the 'End' as my first sickly girl good food review. This place was spot on! I had the Indiana Cob, The Jesse, and Mac and Cheese.... I couldn't consume all of it. So for any of you wanting a wellness breakdown email me, my numbers won't be exact but I am happy to help. The Jesse is a beef brisket thinly sliced, and comes served as a sandwich. I just wanted the meat...cuz, that's what she said!! The food was great, tender moist and bar food so don't expect too much freshness over frozen. All the elements are still there, quality, price, flavor, and taste. They also feature a ton of beer and wine to choose from and you can order similar items on the roof top. I say go and try the jerk wings appetizer it's not quite jerk, but definitely worth it. The place itself is cute cozy and relaxing. A great nod to the pin up years. I'll be going back for sure. Thanks to the End of the Line for being a new start to something very good indeed... My suga life. Cheers!

Maybe I didn't order the right items but I tried the Cobb salad with salmon added along with the soup of the day. The soup of the day was a roasted red pepper soup but in actuality ended up being mostly a vegetable beef soup which was disappointing. The salad and salmon were good but I expected more out of a 15 dollar salad. Topped off by slow service with only three tables occupied and It's going to take some convincing to get me back here.

Mediocre things drive me crazy, and this place is the epitome of mediocre. The sadness in that is there are SO FEW rooftop bar and grill options in Indy, and this place has the chance to be top of the table. The table, chairs, service, most of the food...everything is mediocre or below par. It just really all bums me out. You leave full but ultimately unsatisfied, knowing this place could be soooo much better. Try the Bison Burger or the Bonfire Burger. The Mac and Cheese and Memphis slaw are both pretty good. The view is great...that's about it.

Interesting little place. Lots of craft and microbrews here and prices are fair. The food was good (though not great) but took forever. It wasn't busy at all, just us and one other table. The bartenders were incredibly friendly so that kept us occupied. Somebody clearly spends a lot of time finding unique local and craft brews but the same attention hasn't been paid to the food menu. The Fountain Square area never seems to be hopping. We were there on a Friday night and the entire area was just dead. I know that Indy doesn't support local businesses very well but this is an embarrassment. I would give this place a second shot but it has a bit of an odd vibe so it isn't likely to be on the immediate return list.

love the rooftop! The food from below is good depending on what you order. The pretzels are killer! It's a nice place to take it slow and enjoy the view, and not have high expectations.

I wish there was an option for a half star. This place gets 2.5 from me. I have been here several times and if I were rating just for beer I would give 4 stars. Always a great selection of local beer. Staff is always on top of their game when it comes to service. So, about the food, it's not great. If you don't ask for light salt on the pretzels you will regret it. The beer cheese dip is strange as far as texture goes. The Mac n cheese is bland. The vegetables du jour are solid though. The black bean burger is a frozen patty and to me that equals sadness. The schnitzel (my husband ordered it) had to be sent back for several reasons, most the gravy was insanely sweet. I do like the pizza's. After a couple attempts at the dinner menu we just won't be eating there again. Again, staff is always amazing. Beer is great so if you want a couple pints of great beer go on and stop in!

YEPPY-SKIPPY I have found a restaurant in Indy that has more than just a grill cheese choice for us vegetarians! Just moving from Columbus, Ohio where the restaurants cater to us vegetarians and vegans I have been disappointed in my choices, so far, here in Indy. But at last I now know where to go! For my first time here I chose the Baked Veggie Burger, it was a tossup between this or the Gooey Spinach Melt. Veggie burgers can be very dry and or fall apart as soon as you pick up the sandwich so I thought this would be a good test to see how well they cook the food. This veggie burger was NOT dry and it did NOT fall apart. The goat cheese was oh so nicely melted and paired so well with the onion marmalade which I feel the cook put just the perfect amount of this on my sandwich. It wasn't so much that it just dripped out and it wasn't so little that I needed to add ketchup. The waitress suggested that I have the chipotle mayo on the side because it can make the sandwich very messy, good suggestion! The bean sprouts and roasted peppers were just the right touch to give more flavor and tecture/crunch to this sandwich. I chose the mac & cheese as my side. It was ok. This was placed on the side of the plate in a souffle dish. The baked crusted cheese bubbling over the dish adding a small crunch with your first bit. Puncturing into the mac & cheese the steam just plumed out. With the appearance as good as it was I was somewhat disappointed with the flavor. Bland, not going to lie. Perhaps fresh basil would add a good touch of flavor, maybe Tabasco sauce, some pepper or other herbs. My friend ordered the Triple Mushroom pizza. He said it was good. I didn't get to taste it so I can't comment on this. It looked like a mushroom pizza on a flat crust. Can't go wrong with that, right? We both ordered a beer and I was pleased to see a good amount of choices that aren't all the same choices as other pubs/bars. I am excited to return and try other food and beer options that they have on the menu. The deserts sound great too so perhaps I will try on or maybe two of those :) Thanks for a great meal!!!

The wife and I wound up here for a late lunch; overall the food was pretty good. I had a burger which was tasty. However, the mac and cheese was kind of bland. We'll certainly be back, but this place is #2 to Red Lion's #1 in my book.

Good little gastropub in Fountain Square. The beer selection is good always rotating. Their menu, upon first glance, seems like standard gastropub choices (sandwiches, appetizers & burgers). However, you will notice everything has a unique twist. You can count on good beer being on tap and this is a menu that will provide you with many options for a different experience on future visits. I'm a fan.

My Father, Boyfriend and I went for dinner at the End of The Line this past Friday 1/13/11 around 6 p.m. The atmosphere is pretty good, it feels like an upscale dinner- but a little bit 2000's in terms of furniture, textiles. More than acceptable. I love the good selection of local beers, that was awesome, though we did not drink any that night. My boyfriend and I are both vegetarians & we had heard from our friends that they had some very tasty veg items. We were seated easily, the staff was friendly. My boyfriend ordered the mushroom melt with vegetarian chili as his side. I ordered the brie and fuji apple sandwich and got white cheddar mac n' cheese as my side. Our food came quickly and it both looked and tasted great. The brie & apple sandwich was an amazing and unusual combination. The apples were I think baked and lightly sprinkled with cinnamon and sugar. The bread was really good too, I think it might be from a local place. Mac n' Cheese was fantastic and had a crumbly crust on top. The sandwich was kind of small, but the side really made up for it. The mushroom melt was good too- it had a really interesting after-taste and came with dipping sauce. The bowl of Chili was giant- we were excited to see a veg chili! My boyfriend asked for goat cheese on top of the chili, which our waitress forgot. Whatever though we were all still happy! We were all enjoying our meals until my boyfriend, who was eating his chili, realized that there was big piece of beef in his mouth. As a long-time vegetarian, this was kind of horrifying. He spit it out and examined it and sure enough it was meat, my dad, a meat-eater confirmed this. We called over the waitress and showed her the meat and explained and she said something like - Oh not again, yeah I'm a vegetarian and that's happened to me before. And then we were all kind of shocked. I'm sorry, but... seriously. Come on. Meat? IN VEGETARIAN CHILI. Really. And it has happened before? So this is a persistent problem? WHAT? I don't understand how meat accidentally made it into vegetarian chili, but geez, If you cannot guarantee your food is Vegetarian, do not list it as such! So anyway our waitress offered to bring him a replacement side, and my boyfriend opted for the mac n' cheese. My dad asked if she would knock the chili off the bill and she said okay and walked away. Mac n' cheese was tasty as I noted before. At this point we are all kind of feeling weird. How can we trust this restaurant? What else has meat in it.... are they still going to keep telling people it is vegetarian and giving it to vegetarians tonight? I got up to go to the bathroom at this point & it smelled really bad in there for some reason. I was literally gagging, which has never happened to me before. Needless to say I got out of there as quickly as possible and returned to our booth where my dad was looking over the bill. Nothing was knocked off the bill & when we asked our waitress she said the chili was included in the price of the sandwich so.... (Now, our waitress seemed pretty nice, and she was cool, but she was NOT sorry or shocked or apologetic or trying to make things right, at all.) Shocked again we just sat there and then paid, and then went home. The next day my dad went in to complain again about the meat in the veg chili. The man working the bar said he was sorry but did not offer to make it right in any way. My dad also used the bathroom there and related to me the same gagging experience as when I went in there- My dad thinks they must have a problem with their pipes (it is an old building) and he mentioned that to them on the way out. I really hope they get it fixed. For now I highly recommend NOT using that bathroom, especially if you have a weak stomach, or just found meat in your vegetarian chili. Overall, I do not recommend this place for Vegetarians until they take the "vegetarian" out of their chili. Or the meat. Also it is a tad overpriced at $10 for a sandwich! Many other, more accountable places to get veg in Fountain Square!

Cool name for a cool place. The End is definitely hitting all 6 cylinders when it comes to doing the right thing in the restaurant/pub scene. Me thinks. **And, I'm not even going to mention the Fountain Square location bonus.** The atmosphere is a good combination of stylish restaurant and casual bar comfort. Their menu offers a great selection of apps, salads, sandwiches and pizzas - all for $10 or less. I found the craft beer selection really exceptional with a dozen taps and several bottles to choose from. All good stuff - nothing stupid (in my opinion.) Being a lover of lamb, I was quite enamored with the lamb rib appetizer. There are approx 6 ribs coated with a delicious glaze that really compliments the lamb flavor without masking it and they're served with a side of Asian slaw. The slaw was hmm hmm pretty good but the ribs, oh my! I also strongly recommend the spinach melt sandwich. Toasted bread with a thick layer of creamy spinach dip goodness consisting of tons of spinach (!) with just the right sour cream/mayo ratio, then topped with sprouts & tomato. I added crisp bacon for a wee 50 cents extra but this was totally unnecessary. (But, tasty, nonetheless.) I see myself getting very acquainted to this place. Even if it's just a quick stop for a beer and the world's best pretzels.

I came here for the first time for their Devour Downtown which meant I was limited in what I was able to order. I was absolutely thrilled that they offered Rodney Strong wine which is my favorite. Sadly that was the high point. For the appetizer I ordered the roasted red pepper hummus. I was completely impressed that they offered diced onions, tomatoes, greek olives, and feta cheese along with the soft pitas. I was a little disappointed with the actual hummus though as it was a little thin and didn't have a lot of flavor. Adding the olives and feta did help though. For the meal I ordered their burger which was served with sauteed onions, goat cheese (super yum), and thick rye bread. I was unhappy that they weren't willing to cook to order as I really prefer medium rare but they didn't want to cook any less than medium. The bread was a little too thick for my taste and I needed to remove the top bun to equal the meat and bread. The flavor of the meat was just ok. I ordered asparagus as my side dish and it was completely drenched in butter which is sad because it is so good with a little bit of oil olive, salt, and pepper. Despite loving the location, I probably won't be back for their food.

I can't really review the dinner menu here, because the only time I came I was already pretty tipsy. All I remember is that their mac & cheese was some of the most delicious pasta that has ever graced my tongue :) HOWEVER - I'm shocked that no one has mentioned how AMAZING their brunch is!! I'm a die-hard fan of Patachou and Taste, but The End is quickly becoming my go-to spot on Sunday morning. Seriously, do your mouth a favor and try the French toast. It's topped with bananas and some sort of orange brandy sauce, and it's to die for - and I normally don't even like bananas very much. The bread that they use is some sort of nice thickly-cut baguette, and it's perfect. It doesn't come with a side, but if you order a la carte, the bacon is tasty (I might be wrong, but I think it's from a local butcher) and the potatoes are worth ordering just because they look so interesting (I'd never seen a royal purple potato before). The smoked salmon eggs Benedict is also fantastic, even though it's the most expensive item on the menu ($11) - it's worth it. The service, of course, is great - they're almost TOO polite! (The first time my brunch crew went, we stayed there talking until about 2:15, and didn't realize until we walked out the front door that they closed at 1:30; they never said anything, and we felt really bad.) I feel like most of Fountain Square is hungover and closed on Sunday, so it's really exciting to have a delicious brunch place within walking distance.

My sister and I decided to take a gander at End of The Line today for brunch and it was a very good choice! The mix of old school railway diner and modern-chic cafe give the place a very hipster feel. I ordered the Florentine three egg omelet; however, I wasn't feeling the goat cheese today, so I asked them to swap it out with swiss cheese. They had no problem with the switch. The white wine sautéed mushrooms in the omelet elevated the whole dish to a whole other level. The side of rye toast that came with my meal was a little over the top and overall was the only problem I had with my whole experience this morning. The slices were just too big/thick, that I could barely eat one half of a piece and I was served two pieces of toast. I hate feeling like I'm wasting the food. I also ordered a side of breakfast sausage links, thinking I would get 2-3 of the standard (size of your little finger) links. What I was not expecting were the 3 giant sausages I received. I was ecstatic! For some reason, all I could think about when eating them was, "I feel like a Hobbit, and I live in the shire." (This could also have been the sleep deprivation speaking too. lol) My sister ordered the Salmon Eggs Benedict with a side of roasted potatoes. Though I didn't get to try the Eggs Benedict, the potatoes were great! Some little pieces were a little too over roasted, but I always expect that when eating roasted potatoes because they're so small, they cook too fast. Anyways, we both demolished our plates, I ate a few more of her potatoes and when we were done and looked down, our plates were clean (except my three half pieces of toast still sitting there looking at me and saying, "EAT ME! I may only be a dry piece of really really thick toast, but I taste good... right?") I definitely recommend this place for brunch, if you just happen to be around the Fountain Square area and are looking for a nice place to eat. Also, little side note: There two seater table was ACTUALLY big enough to comfortably fit two people and their food. I always hate going to a restaurant and having to sit at the cramped, tiny two seater and you have to shuffle around your plates so everything fits nicely. Well, this wasn't the case here and it was WONDERFUL!

I joined 4 other friends Saturday evening for an 8 pm dinner at End of The Line Public House, and left feeling a little disappointed in both the service and food. I'm hoping it was just an off night and that this isn't an indication of how they normally operate. Our server was also tending the bar, and he had a difficult time going back and forth. Ordered a Moscow Mule (which was delicious) but it took almost 10 minutes to get. Beer seemed to come out quickly, but everyone else who ordered liquor had to wait. We ordered a couple of orders of pretzel sticks and crab cakes as appetizers. The sticks came out piping hot and were the best course of the evening. It came with two sides of various cheeses which tasted the same to me. Perhaps they were? I would like liked to have seen mustard with them. For my main course I ordered the fish special with a Mediterranean salad and Mac and Cheese. The lettuce on the salad tasted like it hadn't been properly washed. The salad was huge, and I wish I could have eaten more of it. I picked around the lettuce and still got a decent amount to eat off it. Had our server been a little more attentive, I would have sent it back. As for the fish, it was a rather large portion and the lemon sauce on it was great, but after my first bite of the fish, I felt something was wrong with it and didn't eat any more of it. If I wasn't with a new group of friends I probably would have sent it back as well, but I didn't want to be "that guy." The mac and cheese was wonderful, and that filled me up.

I can count the number of two star reviews I've given on one hand. So bare with me on this one because it hurts to write this... Before I was feeling my 3 star rating, now, based on a recent visit to celebrate a friend's birthday 2 stars almost seems generous for multiple reasons - 1.) service - I understand that they have a certain way of seating people on the rooftop but when a birthday party crew enters eager with balloons and flowers to surprise a friend before they arrive and not one table is seated and said guests waited half an hour to be the first in the door - why must you rain so heavily on the parade by making them waiting until the birthday boy arrives to be seated? The way the entire situation was handled was extremely unfriendly and inflexible. To top it off, we were told birthday cakes are not allowed to be brought in - a-okay, I understand - "can I tuck it away somewhere so it doesn't melt before dinner is over?" Response: "hmm...I dunno...." (aka "I really don't want to go out of my way on ANYTHING here") 2.) the food is meh. Big time meh. Uninspired and lacking one specific direction. Ya know, it's one of those places that seems to think they can pull off pizza, Asian noodle dishes, pub grub and a zillion other styles of food under one roof. 3.) it's sad to see the extreme potential of the rooftop space being utilized by such a sub par eatery with unenthusiastic staff Quite the bummer experience.

I have had enjoyed lunch here twice..and walked out completely stuffed. The mac n cheese is "good". It was creamy, and very crunchy on the edges, but it lacked the sharp flavor i really like and expect in homemade mac n cheese. I ordered the salmon cobb sandwich. It was fresh and put together with pride. I noticed alot of empty tables when i went for lunch and am wondering if its just not busy in the afternoon or just not getting the attention it needs. This place IS the first place i think of going to if we are near fountain square and want to meet up for lunch because it has a good vibe. I would like to check out this place in the evening and see whats going on.

A local hangout that even most locals haven't been to. They're Mac-n-cheese is something to write home about. I'm pretty loyal to their burgers (specifically the bison burger), and only venture away from them to get the occasional flatbread style pizza. When we are looking for a place in fountain square that's open late, with good draft beer, and not crazy busy, we come here. We've always had great luck with the staff and if you're real nice, they might just let you sit on the second floor by yourselves.

Have not ordered food here, but I was pleased with their less-commonly-tapped beer selection. I found the atmosphere perfect for conversation, not too loud but not a library either. That being said, service was certainly lacking in attentiveness. We waited at least an hour for a water refill during a slow part of the evening. I also was surprised to see that they close so early, however this is slightly remedied by the convenience of Imbibe, the bar next door. I plan to go back simply for their beer selection and convenient location, despite the sub par service.

Devour downtown features a special menu ... how can a restaurant be out of roughly everything they offer? How can they justify serving poorly prepared dishes when the choices are so few? Vegetables - menu item unavailable steak - how's raw sound? Featured dessert - don't have it, have some bread pudding instead Service was ponderously slow, so slow that I had ample time to write this stellar review while waiting for our waitress to give us the check. Devour downtown is a great opportunity for out of the way restaurants to showcase their wares, unfortunately this is the end of the line for us ever dining here again.

I'm going to give it a three. It was real. It was good. But it wasn't real good. So one of my BFFs and I went in there, because we heard about the rooftop dining and we were like HELL YEAH. So when my friend asked about it, the hostess gave such a ridiculously condescending remark. That was my first red flag. So we sat down and we both legitimately wanted the same beer and same drink and the waitress was being very noticeably judgmental about. Plus we were going to split the food too, so we were thoroughly confused to why she had such an attitude about it. However, when the food came out it was pretty good. We had the pizza and the mini tacos. Both of them were nice, but we weren't passing out because it was so good or anything. The whole time we were just clouded by the experience the people next to us that were talking hella nasty about someone until the person walked into the restaurant and sat next to them and just the lackadaisical attitude of our server. We're willing to give it another try though. Fountain Square seemed to be just having one of those days today. It also didn't really help that I tripped out of our booth and looked like a clumsy goofball at the end of our experience.

This was for the rooftop restaurant. We had some server from Orlando, Fl. If you get him, best of luck to you. If I could give this place zero stars, I would. Terrible service and the food was average. I got the Italian pizza and it literally tasted like tostinos with goat cheese. This was the worst dining experience of my life. I always love dining out and trying new restaurants and I can tell you I will never be back. Our dinner took 3 hours! The server kept disappearing, no where to be found. My wife went to the bar to order a bottle of wine because we couldn't find him and they refused to serve us. If you are looking for the worst dining experience including the longest dinner, lack of attention and service and blow mediocre food. This place is for you. All ot

Service was good, food was good but nothing extraordinary. Our group had a Bison Burger which was very good, spinach melt - not so great, Italian chicken which was excellent, and a burger which was good but surrounded by WAY too much bread. Atmosphere was pleasant.

I enjoy coming here for their usually interesting line up of Hoosier beer, (and other craft beers if you are not loyal to our fine state, you traitor) their kinda cool vibe and atmosphere and their more or less tasty food. They always have New Albanian bombers "on special" for $2 off, which would make it regular price since it is always marked as such. Now, that beer line up will always have a smattering of most major breweries and then some at any one time. Their is always Sun King house beers as well as a seasonal, one or two Three Floyds (that sounds weird when I type it like that...hm) Fountain Square Brewing, Flat 12, Cutter, the priorly mentioned NABC, etc, etc all on draft. Most of the time, multiple selections of most breweries. This is a good thing. Their food is decent. Usually a bit under seasoned, but comforting. I enjoy the campfire burger which is a meaty, though somewhat bland, burger on Texas toast, goat cheese and some delightful onion concoction. I have been here perhaps seven-ish times and the place is always dead, which continues to give me a slight uncomfortable feeling. Maybe they rock it later? I usually go around, well, dinner time. Service is often slow though more of a laid back slow with an occasional touch of negligence. Friendly enough staff with touches of greatness at times. Sit at the bar if you can, had a great, knowledgable and talkative bartender the last time.

Craft beer addict, yes. IV beer therapy, yes. If you poke me, I'd probably be bleeding beer. Yes, this revamped diner is the place for a bison patty infused with stout tucked between a toast. Ooey gooey mac 'n cheese with the crunchies baked in a souffle dish. If I were a drunkie, I'd shovel down that mac 'n cheese in a heart beat. Fancy that. I didn't care much for the burger - bison cooked well done and I prefer it on an actual bun. Fixings were pretty okay, although I would just come back for the mac 'n cheese along with a 12 oz. glass of my favorite local brew. Flat 12 milk stout - the perfect breakfast drink (rich, velvety, chocolatey, espresso-like). As always, there's $4 rotating draft specials. So it's a great place to grab a snack and a drink on the weekends before heading around town.

This place is awesome for vegetarians and for people that enjoy beer. The beer list is bursting with good, well priced beers and a lot of the menu is vegetarian. pizzas, and veggie melts, and potato finger, oh my! My only complaints about end of the line is they share a jack and jill style bathroom with imbibe so getting to the bathroom can be tricky and like a lot of fountain square, they are closed for the early part of the week and tend to close earlier than most restaurants. When they are open, they tend to be pretty full most of the time, but i don't think i've ever waited more than 5 minutes for a table.

I like this place and am glad to count it among those a short walk from home. The food is solid. I do tend to reserve higher stars for restaurants that use more local ingredients, but still what they do they do well here! Although I don't drink much beer these days (due to have a well developed beer belly already) they seem to have a good list that does include local brews. Creative cocktails are also available to order off the Imbibe menu, the bar within the building. I try not to whine, err drink wine very often so can't help there. Menu variety ain't half bad, although one time we left because we were on a quest for fries and they were not to be found. But all the usuals...burgers, sammies, soups, apps, as well as a few of the most common salads you'll usually find. Last time we decided to split a Cobb Salad and the Florentine Pizza. I was crackly happy to find a thin crusted pie that had a decent but not overloaded amount of ingredients. Although crispier on the edges and a little soggy in the center, I still enjoyed the spinach, artichokes, feta and et cetera. TIP: the small salad is probably plenty unless you have a giant appetite, as we found it quite filling. Service is friendly, prompt, and responsive-as long as they aren't too busy! However, if you go on a Friday night, or a Sunday morning at peak breakfast time, you might be wondering when your drink order will get taken. But hey, if you hit any place at peak service time and get frustrated, you might want to adjust your timing!

This is one of my favorite brunch places - just love it there! The service is always amazing and I never have a wait. I had brunch today with 6 girlfriends and they were able to take a reservation for us. Our server was amazing - very attentive and didn't bat an eye over any of our requests. The food is always quality. Their brunch menu might seem small compared to other brunch places in town, but the variety is good enough to satisfy most requests. My daughter loves the French toast, even though she calls it "fancy". The granola is fabulous and my eggs have always been cooked to perfection, no matter how I order them. The drinks are well made and they have a decent beer menu.

Everything is about ten bucks here. Yummy little pizza perfect for 2 to split? $10. Extra tasty sandwich with a deluxe side? $10. The menu here sounds amazing, and my companion and I actually had a hard time choosing. We got the pretzel sticks...LOVED the havarti-dill sauce, wasn't all that impressed with the beer cheese. We also had a spicy Italian meats pizza with goat cheese...SO good! And, because we were running a marathon the next day (we weren't...we were both doing essentially nothing) we got some roasted fingerling potatoes. NICE selection of craft beers and they also have a small selection of liquor for mixed drinks. Can't wait to go back and try more food. The weirdest part was the furniture. It was pretty dated (late 90s?) but comfortable and clean. This is located on the corner of the Fountain Square Theater building opposite from the BBQ place...so yes, you will park on the street or in one of FS's many public lots and walk there. This is not a real issue, as the sidewalks are nice and the parking is all free.

A friend of mine brought me for lunch. Our server was incredibly nice and attentive. The service was a little slow though and it took us awhile to get our food. I ended up a little late for getting back to work. We ended up having the special of the day. The day we went it was a Burger with goat cheese and caramelized onion jam. My burger was absolutely delicious. Just enough goat cheese but not too much. It was cooked exactly how I like it. The only negative to to the actual meal was the side of Mac n Cheese that came with our burgers. I loved how it was served in a little dish with bread crumb and the pasta itself was cooked well however the cheese sauce just left a little to be desired. Maybe some salt? Overall it was a good experience and I really enjoyed my food. I would probably never come back during my lunch hour because I don't want to be late to work again however I would come back for dinner some time or maybe my day off. I still dream about that burger.

Tried the Devour Downtown deal with a buddy. The baked pretzel sticks appetizer was worth the visit alone. The dipping sauces were superb. Great selection of taps including some I haven't seen anywhere else. I went for the bonfire burger. I normally hate rye bread but it worked perfectly with the goat cheese and onion marmalade. The burger was cooked exactly to order. The oven fried fingerling potatoes did not look all that appetizing on the plate, but they delivered a surprising flavor that I am at a loss of words to describe. My buddy liked his veggie burger but said the mac & cheese didn't pack much flavor until salt and pepper were added. Service at the bar was very good. The overall ambiance isn't compelling but the food, beer selection and service will have me coming back.

End of the Line is quickly becoming one of my favorite spots in town. I'm not sure if it was purposeful that this place shares a name with the club in the movie Tron...but I'm just going to pretend it is. It's the season is right the only place to have dinner is on the roof top garden. The view here alone will the night completely worth it. And then when you get the menu and try the food, you're going to be as hooked as I am. Home made pretzels, all kinds of pizza, mac & cheese, and a cheesecake made with in season fruits are all some of my favorites.

I have yet to be impressed by any of the restaurants in this building. The end of the line is better than smokehouse on shelby, but my experience was disappointing. I had the bison burger and macaroni and cheese. Neither were memorable.

Jon C. and I were talking last night about reviews and how we like to write them after we've really gotten to the essence of a place. Me: "We had a really good beer each there, and split a small plate! With my food-wonk(TM) that's really all I could have, and we weren't all THAT hungry anyhow..." Him: "But we haven't had a full meal there". I think we're both right, you'd think I was a Gemini, all I know is that if we lived closer to Fountain Square, I'd be here more often likely noshing exactly what we noshed on when we were there. But I skip ahead of myself here! Jon C. and I were at Tuxedo Park Brewing Supply when we saw some take-out menus left there. Huhhh.. I'm nosy, really I am, I've been tempted to vault behind the bar of The Black Sparrow and nose through the bottles I can't read correctly from behind the bar - so I grab a menu and gawk. Mm... craft beer... Mmm... almost-raw ahi tuna, seared... Mmm!! It's right down the block! We lope over, cursing the wind but we know that at the other end of our journey is some good eats. Probably, hopefully! =) Yes. Yes there was! First thing I saw when we looked over the paper menu at Tux Park was that they had a LOT of craft taps and one of them was Upland's Winter Warmer. I needed to be warm very badly, and though that's just me making a tiny funny, I really wanted to try this beer. The bartender was friendly, had a quirky and fun sense of humor and was very kind in answering all the questions about the building that we KNOW they get all the time, but he had fun with it and gave us the virtual tour. I don't tolerate a lot of wheat in my food very well (I can drink beer, have small amounts of gluten IN things, but wheat? I can't do it or I pay a price) and corn/nightshade veggies/deep fried things can bother me as well - so the Seared Ahi tuna sounded like the perfect small plate for Jon C. and I to split. The Asian slaw with it? Phenomenally good. The Tuna? Oh yes yes indeed - it hit the spot and was very nicely prepared and presented. The menu has a lot of salads, sandwiches and pizzas on them - most things I can see with a little bit of smiling and asking kindly could be made less-wheaty or augmented to suit a lot of different ways of eating. Next time I think we'll try the Glazed Denver Style Lamb Ribs.. (salivates a little). I don't know what else to say about a really nice nosh and beer, served by a kind and funny bartender, in a beautiful setting that's a cross between a Gastropub and a down-ta-earth diner besides "If you live closer than 60 miles to here, please go =)".

Had dinner there Saturday night around 5:30 so it was not very busy. Service was friendly. We started with the pretzels - dark, soft, well-seasoned pretzel sticks served w/side of havarti dill cheese sauce and beer cheese sauce. Yummy. I had the spinach dip sandwich served on thick-sliced toasted dark rye bread. The water chestnuts gave the sandwich a nice crunch and flavor. My friend had the bison burger (also on the dark rye bread) which he said was very flavorful and juicy. My husband had the meatloaf (on the rye, I don't think they use buns) which was OK. He said the meatloaf was a little bland. The bread was good, though. He had his with smashed horseradish potatoes which weren't bad. I had mine w/the white cheddar maxc and cheese, which comes in a small souffle dish covered with bread crumbs. I thought it was pretty tasty, not bland like others have said. I think I tasted some nutmeg in it. We didn't have any beer or dessert. They also have salads and individual thin crust pizzas. The interior was spacious and clean. Overall, good food, good service and what appears to be a large number of beers on tap.

If you're into burgers and beer this place is for you. They have an amazing beer list that rotates with a lot of local brews. Of course that makes the hubby, a home brewer in the making, a very happy boy. We went there once just so he could try the full flight of beer!!! That being said, I compare this place as being okay compared to other joints in the Square. I've been twice and each time Andrew and I ordered different things to be bold in our decisions. The first time we had burgers that were pretty good. I'm not always a big burger fan, but the burger I had was tasty and had a lot of flavor. The second time we each ordered a pizza with the intent of eating leftovers the next day. I ordered the Margerhite (sp??) Pizza which is a fav of mine that has sundried tomatoes on it. Andrew ordered the Cajun pizza which had sausage, shrimp, and jalapenos. I enjoyed it, nothing like Bazbeaux's pizza, but I'm ok with that. I think I was hoping for a better crust, it was kinda bland. That being said about our food, we had great service. We know a few of the servers since we frequent the Smokehouse and Imbibe. I appreciate a server who knows me and I can talk comfortably with. We both enjoy the decor of the place, watching people walk by the Fountain, and just relaxing in our 'hood. I will be coming back in tow with the hubby, since he's a beer nerd. Maybe on the third time, I will find something I love on the menu!!! There were a lot of veggie items that looked interesting to try...maybe next time.

After an evening imbibing at New Day Meadery and Fountain Square Brewing, we needed some food in our bellies. My friend and I split an appetizer order of coconut artichoke fritters. They came with a sweet chili sauce. Yum! The two guys in the group both ordered The Jesse, a big sandwich with brisket, cheese and vegetables, as well as a side of white cheddar mac 'n cheese. I ordered the Backyard Burger. Despite being served on bread, the burger was great. Goat cheese and a tomato coulis. I also had the mac 'n cheese -- that was the highlight of the meal. Prices were pretty reasonable -- $10 for a sandwich and side. Between the appetizer and the mac 'n cheese, I took home my entire burger. My fiance couldn't even finish his sandwich. Service was on the slow side; it was Saturday evening but the restaurant wasn't filled to capacity by any means.

A-OK! Decent beer selection and the pizza (we had the cajun) was pretty good. The horseradish mashed potatoes was very interesting- no gravy necessary for satisfaction. Mac-n-cheese was satisfactory as well. Wouldn't recommend the wings but they weren't at all horrible.

What a delicious find in Fountain Square! Went in for a birthday dinner with a friend and had some great beer and grub. You MUST get the pretzel sticks with stout cheese dip. I could make a meal out of just that appetizer. I got the black bean burger, which is so delicious- smoky, filling, and full of flavor. The mac and cheese as a side and I was in heaven. They gave me a frequent diner card, and I plan to use it to the fullest!

Two words: pretzel sticks. I have to echo other comments - they are amazing. The veggie burger is pretty solid (watch out for the spicy mayo) and the local beer selection is also good. Skip the mac & cheese - it looks great but is really just 'meh'.

I was here for devour downtown with a few of my friends and i was really impressed with this diner like restaurant in fountain square. first of all this place being in fountain square already had things going for in its favor. We got seated in a booth which was cozy and we were looking out of the window as snow fell. It was beautiful. We ordered the roasted red pepper humus and i got the drunken chicken breast sandwich. I also got the cheddar mac and cheese along with it which i thought was great. I felt the food was very tasty and already made plans to come back with a few other of my friends in my head. Their beer selection is also worth noting. They serve a lot of Indiana beers on draft and keep them rotating so you can go back and try something new. The service was quick and even though there was nothing stellar about it, there was nothing left wanting. I have since returned twice and really do like the taste of their food for the prices. Great diner like place in fountain square

We found our way in here after a night in the Murp for First Friday. We had already eaten dinner and were just looking for a few conversation beers. We found them. EotLPH has a great selection of craft beers. I had a Bourbon Barrel Wee Mac and there many other tasty options that I left for next time. We had a desert pizza to share-tasty, and my sister had some pretzel sticks with some tasty dipping sauces. I think this is a great addition to Fountain Square and will do well.

LOVE this place and will be back to try the long list of sandwiches that I struggled to choose between. I ended up with the veggie burger and mac&cheese for my first visit. We also had the pretzel sticks as an app. Pretzel sticks are a must have - perfectly delicious soft pretzels with two dipping sauces. The veggie burger had tons of different flavors going on - roasted red peppers, carmelized onion, goat cheese, sprouts - yum! And the mac&cheese side was delicious (especially the top!) and so filling that I took half my sandwich home (in a piece of aluminum foil - this is a much greener option because it's reusable and recyclable). Chris had The Jesse and didn't rave about it, but ate the whole thing. He's not one to get overly excited with his food feedback - though he did give the pretzel sticks two enthusiastic thumbs up. We had an appetizer, two entrees, one beer, and one wine, and spent 43 bucks, which I consider to be a pretty affordable date night. Next visit: Gooey Spinach Melt and maybe Asian Slaw.

Meh. The breadsticks are good, and of course a variety of beers is always a plus; however, there are so many other places I'd rather hang (such as through the door to Imbibe). The vibe is all wrong and the food just doesn't do a thing for me. This is coming from a guy who eats pizza rolls sandwiches made with Pringles and American cheese. The bathroom is odd. I always feel like someone will pop through the other door and surprise me.

Loved it. Brian was awesome and informative about the area, past and present. Large selection of local craft beers and food to die for. We had the pretzel with the havarti dill and beer cheese sauces, excellent. We shared the Brisket sandwich with peppers and jalapenos, this was also excellent. We will be back. The rooftop opens at 6pm wish we could have stayed for it. Can't wait to go back. Thanks

I had not heard of "The End" until a friend mentioned they were having a Sun King Tap Takeover there last week. We decided to go check it out for lunch. It was amazing. I will definitely be making a return trip. We started with the pretzel sticks and jerk chicken wings. Pretzles were good and I enjoyed them, but the wings were amazing. The flavor and spices were wonderful. Can't wait to have them again. I then had the drunken chicken sandwich. It was tasty, but a little dry for me. Can't wait to go back and try the Cajun pizza that my friend ordered. It looked amazing. Great local place and so glad that I found it! Angie was an awesome server. Oops, almost forgot to tell you about the Macaroni? and cheese. Even though they broke my rule of calling something macaroni that ISN'T macaroni (Penne), that is the only thing that I could find wrong with it. It was huge and incredible. You must try it!!

Formerly the Shelbi Street Cafe, the End of the Line Public House keeps most of my favorites (Gingham Salad, Thai Pizza) and then greatly expands upon them. This is a much fuller menu, with lots of sandwich, pizza and salad options. My go to option I'm sure will be a small Gingham Salad with chicken or salmon. This is a wonderfully economical yet tasty and filling lunch! The End of the Line touts their craft beer selection, but I didn't have a chance to try it when I was there. I look forward to coming back for that.

This is my second favorite place to drink in Indy. The beer selection here is great, and if they stick to the plan of rotating out at least half of their beers on a monthly basis, it will only get better. I've had some, but not most of their food and I think it's improving. I had the bison burger yesterday which was fantastic, along with the Asian coleslaw which was pretty bad. Previously I've had the same burger, which was not as good as the latest alongside the Mac and Cheese, which didn't have a strong enough cheese flavor, aside from the broiled layer on top. I was not a fan of the artichoke appetizer, the horseradish dipping sauce blasted away the delicate coconut flavor of the breading. Even though I seem overly critical of the food, the place really hasn't been open all that long, so they've got plenty of time to dial in on consistency and flavor. It's still going to be a great beer destination with a good bar menu and a place that I look forward to hanging out at. The staff have always been friendly and ready for a nice chat and the service has always been prompt.

The food was amazing. I do not know who is in the kitchen but whomever it is needs a raise. We recently went to this place just by chance and what a find. We had a party of 6...Two were my daughters. They were so attentive to everything including my kids. That is hard to find these days but you could tell these people cared about where they work, the food, and each other. Now to the food! Just great. My wife had the drunken chicken, father in law had the bison burger, mother in law had the portebello sandwich, and I had the lamb ribs and soup (my girs had mac and chesse and chicken fingers) and everything...I mean everything was perfect. I travel for my job and have a chance to eat in cities all over the US and this was just an exceptional dining experience. What an amazing find. We will be back. I could not find you guys on trip advisor where I review....

My fiance and I had the pleasure of dining here last night. It's got great potential but has a few kinks to work out. The menu is very intriguing and goes far beyond traditional pub fare. The selection of local and craft beers both on draft and in bottles is excellent. The ambiance and overall vibe is very good. The service was friendly and attentive without ever being intrusive. The pretzel sticks appetizer with stout beer cheese and dill havarti was okay. The pretzels themselves were great and fresh from the oven, the cheese sauces were lacking in flavor but on the right track. We both went with a burger, toppings were definitely a high point but the burgers were both just a touch overdone making them a little dry. As simple as it is, the caesar salad was perfect even down to the crispy but not hard croutons. We'll definitely be back, and after being open only a week there no question they can and will make the necessary tweaks to become yet another solid Fountain Square establishment.

Took our 3 kids & some friends here for dinner on a Friday night. I was surprised that it wasn't very busy considering the good things I'd heard. The menu was fun, its traditional with a twist. Service was fantastic! Food was pretty good. We started with the pretzel sticks. The homemade beer cheese was good, not great. However, the spicy mustard was incredible! And when our kids started looking a little antsy waiting for the meal, our server brought our 2 more orders on the house. That's service! I had the bison burger. At our server's suggestion I had it medium rare. The flavor was good, but too undercooked for a burger in my opinion. I ordered Mac & cheese as my side... Holy cow! Best Mac & cheese ever! One more side note about the great service. My 9 year old told our server she was collecting bottle caps. At the end of our meal our server showed up with a bag full of bottle caps for her collection. Needless to say she was in heaven. I'm looking forward to dining here again!

Most often I will visit here for breakfast. The food is good and the coffee is terrific. They server Hubbard and Cravens coffee. The service has been friendly and efficient. Nothing super special about breakfast but it is good American style fare. I am not sure about parking since I ride my bicycle here. For later in the day they have a decent selection of beers. So, I am planning to visit for dinner soon.

We stopped by the public house randomly and liked the outdoor seating options. I ordered the pork burger with roasted red potatoes which was good if a little under seasoned. My girlfriend ordered the big Jessie but received another sandwich and by the time the switch was made both were cold. She did have the white cheddar Mac and cheese. If you only go to the end for this its still worth the trip! They also had a fairly priced and extensive beer selection.

It appears this review is going to be one big echo of the sentiments already left here by many of my Yelp colleagues. I honestly hadn't even read reviews before going here. I've been here a few times now, and this past trip was to the hallowed rooftop for the first time. Each time I've been here, the food has been meh, and the experience has just been forgettable. This time was a little more memorable because it was the worst trip I've had here. I can cite some positives. The rooftop view is the star of the show, and I like the location in Fountain Square. I really like their beer list. I think the bread sticks and beer cheese are really good. My negatives are much the same as other reviewers, poor service and spiritless food. I don't know what the deal is with the hostess. I even wondered if she is management or owner, but if she is, then her behavior is even more deplorable. She didn't even acknowledge us. When she spoke to others, she spat venom. The gentleman who finally helped us was pleasant. The service was poor. We were left sitting for endless amounts of time. We weren't checked on after our food was left. Our steak was overcooked. Our server asked us how it was, so I was honest with her. She informed me a good rule of thumb there is to order it under cooked because it cooks while they bring it up to the roof. She apologized and said she should have told us when we ordered, and to consider that in the future. I have news for her. There is no future between us and that place unless something drastically changes. She did nothing to make up for our dissatisfaction. I don't know how you mess up dessert, but, the cheesecake was dry. I just feel such disdain that such a great spot with a bomb-ass view is being so wasted by poor service and underachieving food.

This place's best attribute by far is the rooftop atmosphere. It offers a spectacular view of the sunset and the Indy skyline. The view is genuinely different from any other I have experienced at an Indy restaurant. The food is good, not great. I got the beer & bison burger with a side of mac and cheese. The mac and cheese is extremely good. The burger was above average. The craft beer selection is average, but they only have two on tap (the rest is bottles and cans). Unfortunately what brings this place down to 3 stars is the service (I even thought about giving it two stars). From my experience the customer service was poor right from the first point of contact. The host staff was just flat out rude. I was not the only person in my party to comment on this (we came in separately). They won't seat you at a table until your entire party is present; instead they divert you to the cocktail area. This is fine, but it was a bit ridiculous when 5 of the 8 members of our party were present and they would not seat us. Once we were seated and ordered it was a fairly hefty wait to get our food. The waitress was nice, especially in comparison to the host staff. However, we waited a long time to get our bill (my number 1 pet peeve when dining out). Needless to say the automatic 20% gratuity charge did not leave me a happy camper. I would not come back here or recommend it.

I think I have been to End of the Line enough times now to know they aren't going to be on my list of regular places to visit in Fountain Square for eats. They don't have the consistency in the kitchen to get a 4-5 star rating from me. I've ordered the Spinach Melt Sandwich at least 2-3 times here and every time it has come out different...sometimes with not enough cheese...sometimes with too much cheese...sometimes the rye bread is just sopped with butter (ewwwww). And their sides are just kinda meh as well. The cuke and tomato side salad for instance seems to have way too much red wine vinegar in it. Not that I'm an expert in vinegar-usage, but I would prefer my salad to taste like the main event -- cukes and tomatoes -- not like taking a shot of vinegar straight up. They do Mac 'n Cheese and their pretzel sticks with beer cheese very well (I'm seeing a theme here: CHEESE.....) So if you want a nice appetizer or snack with a beer, I suppose they're worth a pit stop. I will say too that End of the Line always has a very good list of beers on tap. They have a lovely Festina Peche last night that was right up my alley for a light summer beer. And for my hubby...a delicious coffee stout from Three Floyds. I'll hand it to them that they have good taste in beer.So , if you're looking for a place to grab a couple beers after work and hangout before a show at the White Rabbit or Radio Radio, then End of the Line is not so bad for that. Just don't bother ordering your dinner here. I think they have a good-looking menu, but the kitchen really needs to get it together and be more consistent in their entree preparation.

I had wanted to come and visit this restaurant for a while now. Also would have liked to check out the rooftop garden, but weather was not cooperating, so my group and I settled into the dining room. That said, I am used to dining out with larger groups and understand that a 'big' table is often difficult to handle. I also worked long years as a waitress, so I can relate. However; the lack of service and the way I personally was treated by your wait staff was simply put: horrible and in-excusable. Service wasn't great from the get-go, but we are a patient group and as long as the food is good, we're happy... I was so looking forward to the mac-n-cheese being that it looks awesome in all the pictures that I have seen on Yelp. Anyway, orders were placed, food starts to be served... wonderful. Well one of our gentlemen, received his food and kept looking at it, saying he didn't think this was his, but the waitress insisted it was his. Well he took a bite out of the burger and it wasn't what he had ordered. The waitress found his order and served it to him. She so apologized to him. I however was left without food. I was also left without an apology or even an acknowledgement that I was yet without food. The gentleman with the extra order went ahead and gave me his mac-n-cheese side since I had also ordered some, otherwise I would not have had anything to munch on. Well the waitress rushed back and brought him another mac-n-cheese, concerned for his well-being. Everybody was letting her know that I had no food, she sort of ignored that on the way to the kitchen said something to we'll get you a burger... how rude. No: I'm sorry, can I get you anything in the meantime, nothing. I had ordered the Bison burger medium well done with a side of mac-n-cheese. So after a while she comes back and slides a plate with a burger in front of me. No mac-n-cheese... again, no sorry... no excuse me... no can I get you anything. No ditch it and run. Now I do realize I had "stolen" the mac-n-cheese from another guest, but really? If you're already messing up can you at least act like you care or value plate presentation? But fine... I will deal with it. Well I bit into the burger... and is was anything but medium well. Crispy on the outside, and at best medium rare. Yes I had the audacity to send it back. Now that was a mistake, cause when it finally came back, it was shoe leather, guess that shows me... the lettuce on the burger could have easily passed as seaweed, it was a gross mess with brown spots... either yesterdays or more likely the same Piece of lettuce from the previous burger that had been dragged back and forth. The burger was also in bits and pieces, so probably the same one, or it had a hard life so far. Even so by now I was really hungry, I gave up on it after taking a small bite, the whole thing being completely inedible. And everyone else was ready to go, their meals eaten. I did eat about half of the mac-n-cheese (which by the way is a fabulously cheesy mess, highly recommend this side), so I was hungry, eager to get out and grab some food elsewhere. Of course my bill was also messed up. Actually I was waiting to see if I would really be charged for this. I sure was, and then some... So she had to at least take off the extra items I was charged for. And for the first time ever, I decided to leave no tip, no tip at all. I had spent 2 hours in a restaurant without food, could not even get a single refill on my water and so I was not only hungry but also very thirsty. I asked for a manager, because I really think somebody should be aware of this lack of service. Well, then she came back and grabbed my bill telling me "he said you don't have to pay", at which point all the money flew out of the folder. That is the most she had spoken to me all night. Anyway, a nice gentlemen came and talked to me, he tried to excuse some of this, like I told him, orders get messed up, it happens, no big deal, but avoid me like I have the plague? Treat me like an outcast? What was that all about? How exactly was it my fault that the order got messed up? I didn't get upset, I didn't make a scene, I just would have liked something to eat. An apology would have went a long way. A 'can we get you anything while you wait? ' anything like that and we would have just laughed about it. About half of our group really enjoyed their meals and would come back, the other half said it was nothing special and they would not go out of their way to return.

So, about once a month my hubby plans a date and takes me downtown. He is an excellent planner and likes to take me places I can try something new or have a fun experience. Unfortunately other than the INSANELY cool view from the rooftop, EVERYTHING else was lackluster at best. It really starts with the check in process. They don't accept reservations and we knew that. We put our names in and then they proceeded to seat 4 additional couples before us. When we checked in about why we were overlooked, she said it was b/c we "moved over there" and pointed to about three feet from her station. We did this to get out of the way for other people to check in. She proceeded to add chairs to a prime walk way of their "cocktail area" which didn't include a table. We assumed when we were seated this would be for dinner. However, their process is to seat you so you can get a drink in the "cocktail area". This is actually not such a bad process but it was not explained so we were confused and had to ask a lot of questions to understand which made us look like jackholes to the others who were already in said "cocktail area" at tables. Luckily we didn't have to wait too long to be seated at an actual table, b/c we were literally placed in a spot that didn't allow the servers to move past us. So odd and uncomfortable. Our server was great. She was sweet and attentive. I enjoyed the ribs but the mac&cheese was extremely under-seasoned. The wine was overpriced for terrible house options. Upon exiting, I tried to explain that I was very dissatisfied in general. I was two drinks in but I really thought the whole experience was awful especially considering my first impression. My last impression was not great either. I feel that considering they weren't THAT busy, they shouldn't treat guests who have never been there like crap when they don't KNOW the unusual practices of their seating options. Additionally just b/c you work in Fountain Square in the "cool kids" part of town doesn't mean you shouldn't be kind, gracious and welcoming when someone enters your rooftop to enjoy the sunset view. That is WHY you created it, no? Instead, we were all treated (including those behind us) as if we were one big pain in the ass for wanting to request a table. As if we would WANT A TABLE TO EAT DINNER!! Scowling and explaining harshly how busy you are and that there is an "obvious wait" is not necessarily selling it for me. I will say the view is crazy cool and the location is fabulous. I wish everyone were nicer b/c I would have gone back despite the mac&cheese being some of the worst in the city.

First thing's first. The Thai pizza is amazing. It is unstoppable. I will crave this for weeks between opportunities to eat it again. Peanut allergies notwithstanding, try this first. Okay. Now that that's out of the way, the End of the Line pub is a fantastic establishment for three independent reasons. The first is the food -- good enough in general, but made fantastic by a few key additions to the menu that you can't find in many other gastropubs. The thai pizza tops my list, but don't hesitate to try the paella, the mac & cheese bake, or pretzels with beer cheese. The second is the drink -- it's easy enough to find a good drink selection in Fountain Square, but EotL's is definitely one of the best. A half flight is five four-ounce pours for just $7, and a full flight is ten for $13 -- pretty affordable if you're sampling with some friends, and definitely a great way to broaden your horizons. The third reason, of course, is the rooftop. In the summer and fall, there's no experience more rewarding than drinking and dining with one of the clearest views of the Indianapolis skyline, rife with the ghosts of a trolley line and a thriving commercial district. If you're a Fountain Square First Friday attendee, this is one of the best places to start off the night. How to improve it? It would be great if they started moving into some local sourcing -- their competitors in Fountain Square are getting good at it and they would do well to step it up. But it won't stop me from snagging a Thai pizza every now and again, and it definitely shouldn't stop you.

Found this place by accident when perusing places on the Devour Indy listing. What a happy accident it ended up being! The Devour Indy menu was fantastic for the price, but I gotta say what got me in the door was the promise of fresh baked pretzel sticks w/Stout Beer Cheese (the accompanying Havarti Dill Cheese dip isn't bad either!). For $6.95 you get four sticks of freshly baked pretzel bread and generous helpings of the two dips! What got me coming back was the Beer & Bison Burger! At $10, the 8oz buffalo burger dredged in Stout beer and topped with applewood smoked bacon, white cheddar, dijon mustard and a dark rye bun, is a delicious steal! Add the gourmet mac n cheese for a Guaranteed FoodGasm! Another staple that is a beer after my own heart is the Lexington Brewing Co. Kentucky Bourbon Barrel Ale. It's a bit pricey @ $7/pint, but each drop is worth every hot red cent! I seriously cannot get enough of this stuff! I had just finished the actual Kentucky Bourbon Trail when I came upon End of the Line and this amazing brew, so my tastebuds were definitely satisfied! This Fountain Square cafe is a must for foodies looking for the grand slam of great food, great beer, great ambiance, and great service!

Been here twice and both times I believe we had pretzel, wings, pizza, and maybe ribs at one time. They are all pretty OK especially the pretzel, and the wings is not your ordinary buffalo wings, instead they come with like a sweet/sour/spicy jerk sauce. They do offer other dishes, sandwiches, salads, etc and a decent selection of local brew. The place offers an excellent view of the downtown Indy skyline, you can watch as the sun sets down and the Indy skyline comes to light. A good place to unwind and grab a few drinks and grub to end a crazy work week. Maybe play some duckpins or shoot some pool a floor below. One thing I don't particularly like is the restroom, not pretty (old building I guess), and is a floor down by the duckpin place. The barbeque place at the ground floor offers some good barbeque dishes and across the street is a good wine place.

This place only gets 2 stars for the beer selection, the awesome bartender in Imbibe, and duck pin bowling greatness. We ate here during devour downtown and I've been simmering for a couple of weeks before I wrote a review. I've been here several times and unfortunately, last time was my last. A member of our party ordered a steak medium-rare for a $20 meal. It was cooked well done. He asked for another, and the rude-ass 60 something cook had the audacity to walk upstairs with his plateful of a failed 2nd attempt to cook a steak to ask our friend if it was 'to his liking'. To keep the peace since we were with a large party, our friend said it was fine, but the steak was literally mooing and our friend had to box it up and take it home in order to 'nuke' it to perfect- which is something the as*&h*ole of a cook should have been able to do. FAIL. Seriously owners, get a handle on your wait and kitchen staff. They leave everything to be desired, and unfortunately, this former fan of End of the Line won't be back again this year- there are too many other places to spend my hard earned money, like Cerulean and La Margarita.

Half the menu is vegetarian! I can't even express how happy that makes me, and how much more likely I am to keep coming back because of that fact! We came here for devour downtown, and my husband and I had the pretzels, a veggie burger, the five cheese pizza, and a piece of the flour-less chocolate cake. The pretzels were perfectly done, with a slightly crunchy outside, and perfectly soft inside, and the beer cheese dip was very good. The five cheese pizza was really excellent - I would not have thought of this as a place to come for pizza, but it really is! I only had a bite of the veggie burger, but that was also yummy. And oooooh the cake. I had to get it to go, as I was completely stuffed, but it sure was awesome the next morning for breakfast. It was rich and almost like cheesecake in consistency. As other reviewers have noted, the beer list here is excellent. I couldn't make a decision, so I opted for the sampler - an awesome 10 glasses of 4oz samples of what they have on draft for $13. Not too shabby! We will definitely be back to check out more of the awesome looking vegetarian options on their menu!

Fantastic food and not too expensive. You can get a fantastic salad that says it's a "small," but actually HUGE!! For only $5!! I split grilled salmon on the side. Love it!
