This place is delicious. I've now been here two times and have been happy with both visits. The beef is all organic and you can build it however you'd like. When the burger comes out, you're not disappointed. Its juicy, cooked well, and full of flavor. It is a little pricy if you add fries and a drink, but worth every penny.

It makes perfect sense that Elevation Burger uses only 100% grass-fed beef, because for the most part the employees all seem to be a bit high. The first time I went to Elevation Burger, I fell in love with the place. While I thought they were a tad overpriced, they're located inside the new food court at Keystone at the Crossing so one expects higher prices than usual. The beef is 100% USDA Certified as Organic, 100% grass-fed, and 100% free-range beef. The Elevation Burger is a two-patty concoction with their special sauce that is mighty tasty when they have the right cook working and mighty greasy when they don't. Elevation Burger also doesn't have your traditional "meals." If you want fries with that, then you're going to pay extra. As I recall, it was right around $2.69 for a generous side order of shoestring style french fries made in a much more healthy for the heart Olive Oil. If you throw in a drink, and who doesn't, then you're talking a minimum expenditure in the $10-12 range which certainly isn't the most expensive burger in town but is really only average in terms of value. I personally found the drink, iced tea, to be a bit disappointing. Here's the catch. In my subsequent visits, the quality of my experience in terms of food and service has steadily declined. After being "in love" with the place after the first visit, my second visit left me feeling like it was "good food, but not great" and my third visit had me thinking "really not worth the price." In part, the steady decline is easily due to wildly inconsistent service that is never fantastic and, at least during the last visit, bordered on awful. The sandwich, which was amazing during my first visit early in their existence, was definitely good on the second and an absolute grease-bomb on my third visit. While I am a fan of shoestring fries, I also find that the quality fluctuates here and at $2.69 an order I'm not really willing to take chances. So, there you go. I still definitely support Elevation Burger's mission of serving a healthier burger but healthier doesn't always mean tastier. When Elevation Burger is good, it's very good. When Elevation Burger misses the mark, they wildly miss the mark. That, for me, equals a 3-star rating at just slightly above average for the overall experience.

The only reason it does that get one star is because the burger was pretty decent tasting (plain but tasty). Service was unacceptable: The kid at the register clearly did not want to be there. Made eye contact maybe once and mumbled only a few words to us. The kid in the kitchen messed up our order, and the third kid showed up with shopping bags while our order was being prepared and proceeded to touch everything without washing his hands. Gross. Overall a very disappointing experience. We will not be going back.

I want to love this place more than I do. I give them props for having a vegan veggie burger, but man, they reeeeeally need to cook their fries longer. I've been here multiple times and they're always soggy and disappointing. The employees always seem miserable and like they're intentionally trying to be as slow as possible. I'll occasionally try them again, but it's not usually in my top 5 of places to grab lunch in the Keystone area.

My daughter and I went there while having a phone fixed at the apple Store. This was one of the worst places we have gone too. The food was horrible after a few bites and $24.00 for a nasty BLT OLD bun,OLD lettuce, half cooked bacon and a tomato and a very bland grilled chicken sandwich. (10:30 am) the place had just opened and we had to wait for 15 minutes for the food. Maybe we are more accustomed to five guys or even Burger King but this was nasty... If I was not so annoyed I would have returned the food but we just left and went to another place. I was very embarrassed for them. Eat with caution or just go to mcdonalds and lower your expectations..

Eating here today specifically because I don't want to go out in the downpour yet....(yes, I have my umbrella).... This is my 2nd time eating at Elevation and the 2nd time I thought that this was a good burger. I ordered the kid size (one patty) burger and an order of fries. It was all tasty and honesty I think their fries are some of the best in the city.

My mom, sister, and I were walking around the mall today and my sister stopped us so that we could eat here because she loves the grilled cheese. I had a burger and it was phenomenal. What's really nice is that the burgers are 100% organic. The kids burger filled me up. The three of us were easily able to split an order of fries.

i know there are a lot of people who have not had a good experience here but i went here for lunch with my friend and i thought their service was more than acceptable. they took my order while being cordial and also prompt in preparing the order. The burger itself was tasty and i thought the veggies were fresh and crisp. It was nice to see this place in the fashion mall which was seriously lacking a decent food court. the revamp has been long time coming. next time i am in the mall i might try this place again and see if everything is the same.

Mind you, this is a burger joint in a mall. Service is not going to be spectacular. They took my order, cooked my food, and delivered it in a timely manner. The delivery, burger wrapped in paper in a tray accompanied by fries, reminds me of In-N-Out. But that's where that ends. The burger is good, juicy, and flavorful. The "Elevation" toppings are a good addition, but you can really customize the burger like Five Guys. The burger isn't as thin as In-N-Out, nor as thick as Five Guys. The fries are thin and crispy and well salted. In the end, I wish this joint was closer to Bloomington so I could eat there more often.

Got a BLT with elevation toppings ($5.55). Bacon was tough to bite. Fries ($2.85) tasted a little like inn n out (best part of the meal). Got a strawberry shake ($4.75) on the side, which the employee forgot about. The shake was essentially three scoops of ice cream with strawberry flavoring, and I ended up eating it with a spoon. Everything was borderline ok. Definitely not worth the almost $15 paid.

My favorite place to get a tasty and fast burger!

I've never had a bad experience here. I find myself in the line at Chipotle, whenever I'm at the mall but I smell Elevation Burger and must have both every time. Everything is made fresh, so there's a bit of a wait. Totally worth it. Organic, grass-fed beef always wins. The burgers have a great flavor. The fries are just okay, so I can take or leave them. Cool that they're cooked in olive oil.

What a waste...The service is horrible. I waited in line for 15 minutes for french fries while there were about 10 people working but 1 person on the register and only 3 people in front of me. After asking someone if they could open the other register, they finally did. I wanted a refund on my order they wouldn't give it to me. They gave me some sort of a voucher for a free burger and fries...I didn't enjoy your service, didn't care for your food the first time, and your burgers are dry...THEY DONT EVEN MELT THE CHEESE!!!!!!! How horrible is that??

    (1)
  • J. Brendan B.

Ordered the Elevation Burger fully dressed with fries and a root beer. The root beer was good, and the burger was tasty. The fries however we're absolutely terrible (super oily and soggy). The service was only okay. I might have given three stars, but the fries sucked and the burger, while good, was pretty pricey (Fries+burger+ root beer was about $12).

  • Tiffany C.

Delicious burgers made with organic, grassfed beef. The toppings are plentiful and its one of the few places you can order your burger in a lettuce wrap. Beware of ordering the fries which are fried in olive oil...you will eat the entire serving (which is huge) in one breathe!

    (3)
  • John H.

The French Fries were the best part of our lunch. The guy taking our order was really out in outer space. The guy cooking the burgers was able to correct his errors while preparing our burgers. They said burgers had to be cooked well done.. Which makes for a dry burger with no flavor. A few places I've found will do medium or medium rare which results in the best tasting burger.

I've always had a great experience here. Even with being in a mall, I never have felt like I'm receiving mall service. Though, my expectations aren't incredibly high. Actually, one of the best parts is that it's in a fancy food court. It's a great environment for my kids and even equipped with a play area. Now to the food. I love the burgers, and the fact that they are made from grass fed beef. The toppings are all very high quality and they even offer wrapping the burger in lettuce as an option on the menu. The fries are hit or miss, but even when they are a miss, they aren't too bad.

Who hasn't eaten meh mall food and paid too much for it just cause it was there and you could stuff it into you mouth and continue on? I've done it more times than I can count. But this is the WORST ever. I mean really, really worst. We were heading out to an event, and thought it would be advisable to arrive not starving because we weren't sure of food being served there. So we headed here, which was a walkway from hotel to mall. Not much of a burger person, asked for a BLT. They were out of bacon. Who runs out of bacon? So then I ordered a grilled cheese. It was laughable. A inside out hamburger bun, with the cheese not even melted. I took a bite and threw it out. That is rare, I can usually eat anything, but this was so far off the mark as to be laughable. (You don't have to take my word for it. Just look at the photo.) My dining companion had a burger, and shrugged her shoulders when I asked how it was. Not a rousing endorsement. There are better options here...right next door is Freshii, and next to that is Chipolte. Avoid this place and eat at one of those. Cheaper and better.

The Elevation Burger was better than most burgers I've had. However, they overcharged me by a dollar ($6.75 instead of $5.75 that it says on the menu). I asked why and the cashier said because of Indiana sales tax. I asked to look at the screen and it the burger was a dollar more than what it was supposed to be. It became more obvious that the cashier couldn't do anything. So I asked for the manager. He said it was because cheese is extra, but I didn't add any cheese. In the end, he gave me a dollar back. I only point things out like this so that the problem can be fixed. However, I'm not so sure that this will be fixed any time soon.

I've had Elevation Burger at different locations, and this is by far the worse branch. All the times I order fries its "brownish" color. Plus, they never put them in a fried sleeve like the other stores, instead the use the fries plate, which makes it so messy when its in the bag. Oh yeah, mentioning the bag, I can't understand why they don't use trays! I always go there with the family, and usually would like to sit down and eat. So I do not understand the fact of using a paper brown bag. Regarding their burgers, they are good however this place mess it up so bad, that they say yo yourself this is the last time I'm going there. You bite down, you can feel the warm burger patty and feel the color toppings, which just makes take so weird. One more thing, they do not call your order via the order number, instead they'd shout out your name across the food court!

Not one to visit The Fashion Mall, let alone eat at a food court. But I was with an East Coast someone who recommended EB. Prices are a little steep for what I'd pay for a burger and fries, but the quality was in the taste. Lots of burger toppings are available for no additional cost, a few cost ~$1+ per item. I'd never eaten such an amazing burger - probably one of my most favorite burgers ever, homemade or restaurant. However I couldn't hardly finish it because of the standard size 2 patties. Suggestion -- get a kiddie burger to compliment the large basket of fries you get for the $2.50.

  • Kristie S.

This place is delicious. I'm not one to eat in a mall food court, however, Keystone Mall has some nice picks. I could be considered a burger connoisseur. This is definitely one of the BEST burgers. Especially in the Indianapolis area. Fries are good, but not a must have. Skip the fries and order a shake. They are amazing! I second Alex W. - Order a kiddie burger if you don't have the stomach for two patties. It is the perfect size.

  • Sharon O.

This is my second visit to EB. The first time was great but this second visit it was just so-so. The fries were great -- they were fresh and crispy. The burger was just ok. It wasn't your run-of-the-mill fast food burger but I do feel it is a step below other premium burger places. The cheese was way too greasy and the mushrooms tasted like they were from a can. Will I return? I can't say. With so many other food options in the area, I doubt I'll return for a while.

I love Elevation Burger, I have visited locations in Michigan multiple times, and always had a pleasant experience. I visited the location at the fashion mall at keystone and the crossing and expected a similar visit, to no avail. The burger was burnt to a crisp and the shake was the consistency of skim milk. Unfortunately, the pitfalls did not cease with the quality of food, as the customer service was equally as horrible. As much of a disappointment it will be, I will never be returning to this restaurant, unless another location comes to the Indianapolis area.

I thought this was a very tasty, juicy burger, which actually exceeded my expectations for being grass-fed (usually leaner beef). I order the "Elevation Burger" with aged cheddar, caramelized onion, and elevation sauce (tangy tomato/mayo like sauce). I got a side of the shoestring fries (fried in olive oil) which I thought were very tasty as well. The only negative is the cost--definitely a lot more than you're used to paying for a food court burger & fries! The quality of ingredients does somewhat justify this, but it still feels a bit high for a fast food setting.

  • Rebecca M.

The setting is high fashion, but my experience with their service is not so haute.

We love Elevation Burger. We love the toppings, excellent burgers. Love the fact that you can get a salad to! Have always had good service.

  • DeAnna P.

Not too bad. I love that they post the calories on the menu and use grain fed beef. However, I ordered a milkshake, and it had absolutely no taste. It was so strange -- like drinking thick water. The burgers are good. The fries are better. However, there are so many good places to eat in this area, I would only go here again if trapped in the mall.

I've eaten here twice now, and I had to take a Pepto caplet soon after both times. I won't be back. I had the basic burger with cheese. The cheese was saturated with grease, pretty gross. The french fries are ridiculously greasy. Both times I had to wait between 7 to 10 minutes for my order, and they weren't even busy. The Coke I had was terrific! They get two stars because they carry Coca-Cola products.

Service (1 star): Pretty darn crappy. Bad attitude by the cashier. They seem to get flustered by the crowd pretty easily. Small things like when we ordered a dine-in meal and they gave it to me in a to go bag with no explanation. After I asked, she waved her hands towards the place where she normally has eat in trays saying she is out of trays.. OK. Watch the attitude and maybe if you had told me while handing my burger to me I wouldn't have to ask. Plus my friend asked what the price of bottled water was and if it was different from bottled Honest Tea and the cashier replied "i don't know." hmm ok step away from the register please. Food (4-5 stars): I ordered the veggie burger #1 with elevation sauce, jalapenos and onions. The elevation sauce was amazing!!! I will come back just for this sauce! Perfect portions... about 300 calories so not a diet busting lunch. I tried 1 fry from my friend and it was really good! Hot and fresh, salty and dripping in olive oil! It was very good but maybe they should have an option of a smaller portion (?) its 520 calories per order! dayummmmmmmm Price: Given that it's in the Fashion Mall... Having a meal for less than $10 is pretty good. My burger + toppings + tax was about $6. I'm sure I will be back but at least now I know what to expect - great burger, crappy service.

Being frequent patrons of the Fashion Mall, my husband and I decided to give Elevation Burger a try. We both ordered burgers (grass fed organic beef) with aged cheddar (extra charge). I had a side salad (pre packaged) while the hubby got fries which were fried in olive oil. While the burger was tasty it was under seasoned and I needed to add salt. The salad was very basic, and the sticker on the package indicated that it was fresh, however I did find bits of old slimy lettuce. The fries were placed in a paper bag when they came out of the fryer and formed one large greasy fry ball. I don't think frying in olive oil is the best idea. The fries were soggy and heavy, and only tasted of olive oil. Although we enjoyed the burgers, we have not been back since, and I doubt we will ever return.

    (2)
  • Tony N.

This has to be the tastiest burger in town. It is juicy, and you have your choice of toppings, most of them free of charge. Didn't try the fries, as I'm trying to cut down on carbs, but I've heard they're pretty good too and fried in olive oil.

they have two different veggie burgers they offer( one being fully vegan) with gf bun options as well. basically a Chipotle for burgers. sweet potato fries are good. lots of options on veggies and sauces that can go on top of your burger. eclectic color scheme and seating area

  • Brandon S.

Okay burger, bad service. The burger is pretty decent (but not worth the high price tag, in my opinion). They do get kudos for serving grass-fed beef, which is not very common for restaurants. It would be nice if they had different kinds of cheeses aside from cheddar. The shakes are really good and probably the best thing on the menu. Lots of different flavors to choose from and different items to mix in. I've eaten at elevation burger 3 times. Neither of the 3 times was the service even acceptable. The person at the counter never even greeted me, they just stood there until I started to order. They never said the typical welcome or thank you at all. The fourth (and final) time that I visited, I was just going to get a shake. It was a Saturday and I arrived about an hour before they would close but the (not-very-polite) person behind the counter informed me that they had "shut down" the area/equipment that they used to make shakes. Really? Shutting down an hour before close on a Saturday? Then basically being unapologetic about it at that? I was so irritated by this that I decided to try to contact them to let them know about my experience - God help you with that. I posted on their Facebook and messaged them and they proceeded to completely ignore me and never respond. Horrible service and the sole reason that I refuse to ever eat here again and will not ever recommend it to anyone that I know.

    (2)
  • Bill J.

I have to agree with one of the previous reviews - lots of people behind the counter, very little actual work being done. Long line of customers, one register open most of the time...strike one. Long line of customers and workers milling about aimlessly and talking about personal stuff instead of working. Strike two. Customer brings fries back to counter and states that they taste "stale", says she will come back in a bit to get new fries, wants them to cook a fresh batch. Employee loudly states several times that the fries are "fresh" and "ain't no stale fries in here". Strike three. This place needs a manager to make sure that things are running smoothly. The burger I had was pretty decent, but I wouldn't go back based solely on the service. They offer some cookies on the menu, they are pre-packaged and don't look at all good. I didn't order any fries and after hearing the complaint while I was there and reading a previous review, I'm glad I didn't.

For a mall burger, Elevation is above the standard. The burgers are made with 100% organic beef and the french fries are fresh cut and cooked in olive oil. The kids grilled cheese is made with toasted hamburger buns and sharp cheddar cheese. They're a hit with my 3 yr old. Most of the toppings are complimentary and you can really customize your burger. They make each burger to order so service is slower than you might be expecting. A regular burger comes with two hamburger patties. Order a kids burger if you only want one patty.

  • Jennifer P.

Very strange place. There were 8-9 workers in a space that seems suited for 4-5. And yet nothing was getting done. They wandered around, seemingly doing what pleased them in the moment. The worst part was watching them set the HOT food for work-in-progress orders on the counter ...in the open air.... So hot became cold. The funniest part was the young man putting fries in a little paper basket, then carefully covering the hot fries with an open paper napkin and setting on the counter. Apparently he thought "tucking in" the fries with a paper blanket would keep them toasty warm. The burger was OK, better than fast food but not worth the price. The cold slimy under-fried French fries were gross. May I suggest some heat lamps and a MANAGER ASAP.

  • Adriana B.

So happy they have two veggie burgers on the menu, one is made with cheese and one is vegan. There are a lot of toppings to choose from. The elevation sauce and the hot pepper relish were especially good. The fries were really really tasty. The meal reminded me of In-N-Out but even better since they actually had veggie options. The price is right, too.

I purchased the Elevation burger. This is a gooood burger. Hot, fresh, real meat, soft, toasted bun, real condiments, real melted cheese. If you not too hungry you could probably get away with splitting it with someone. You can dress up your burger with sauteed onions, mushrooms and lots of other stuff. Lots of staffing to take your order. Even though I was fifth person in line... it only took a few minutes. The service is a notch above fast food.

The food is decent, especially for mall food.

  • Tammy G.

I liked it a lot. All I got was the "Kid's Burger" which is code for one patty. It cost me $3.79 + $.50 for cheese. It was a thinner-style burger, crispy around the edges - kind of like a tastier Steak 'N Shake, without the stomach ache (hey, that rhymes). The topping were very fresh, too. I see more of these burgers in my future. (Especially since my construction company is currently building the Chipotle a few bays down.)

As far as mall food court options go, this is a pretty good choice. The burger was tasty and seemed relatively healthy. The fries were delicious. Obviously those weren't quite as healthy.

Compared with the other current offerings in the Keystone Cafe, the Elevation Burger rises to the top! The prices were much better than its neighboring vendors, and the taste was great! I had the Elevation Burger (with Lettuce, Tomato, Smoked Cheddar (+$.50), Grilled Onion, and Elevation Sauce) and Fresh Fries. Both items were really excellent. The fries were on par with the best of them such as Penn Station. The burger was great, and the smoked cheddar was worth the premium! Next time I am around I will have to try a shake or malt!

Inspired, in my mind, by In n' Out Burger from California and other western states, this is awesome and marks the first time I feel at home burger-wise since leaving Los Angeles in the 1990s. This of course "elevates" the in n out concept to a whole different grass-fed, organic, olive oil soaked level, but the undefinable unique heritage is there (at least partly due to the caramelized onions).
