I really like Einsteins bagels, cream cheese flavors (shout out to jalapeño salsa!),bagel thin egg white sandwiches and awesome e-coupons (via Facebook & email) but if I choose not to come here it is for one of two reasons: irritating parking situation and consistently unfriendly/unresponsive/uninterested staff. For a bagel shop frequented in the morning it sure would be nice to interact with somebody who makes eye contact, responds to questions audibly and even throws a smile out there. I'm doing all of these things -- and I'm not on their payroll. This is not a one time observation, this has been my experience on each visit to this particular shop.

This is the nastiest place I have ever been too. While watching them heat food in their microwave, I noticed several old plastic containers and caked on food inside the microwave that they did not bother cleaning as they used it. It was so disgusting. I imagine this place is a health code violation waiting to happen.

I am a PTA parent at my children s school Snacks Crossing Elementary school...Here in Indianapolis... every year around this time I try to show the teachers how much we care for them by providing breakfast and sometimes lunch.. these last few years I was able to go to 86th street Einstein Bros Bagel and get their day old's.. In return I give them a letter on letter head from the school along with a tax ID number... so although i am getting left overs... I am also giving something for them to write off... never had an issue until today.. but this time it was on Broad ripple.. I called and they put my name down as the one to pick up this evening.. they close at 5:00... at 4:45 I called and told them i was in transit and assured my arrival... at 5:55 I called back to tell them I was on the street and puling in.. when the lady says to me.. Oh Im sorry I just gave those bagels away.. I thought it was you!.. I am so upset about this.. I asked for the corporate number and they told me that they didn't know the number.. I asked for the manager but was told she is too busy and is on the phone... I spent a long time driving all the way their.. to only get screwed.. not only that my idea of breakfast for my teachers is out of the question... I have to say that I will never ever ask Eisenstein bagels for there old bagels nor will we purchase from them... I call myself being nice and i get screwed... i also asked if the lady said her name.... or give a letter... they said NO.. I can not believe how I was treated...No one cares anymore.. DO you know how much gas is? do you know how long it took me to get there? This is the last time I will ever step foot in this place again.. I will spread the news

They gave my order to another customer, then messed up the order after having to remake it. All the while making me feel like it was my fault that they messed up. After they finally got it right, third times a charm, the manager just handed me the order. No sorry or apology needed apparently. The food was good but I will not be returning to this location because of the lack of customer service.

Good location, disappointing bagel selection! Come-on Einstein, who are you fooling? I've been to your downtown counterpart- they are on the ball. You need more bagel selection, fresher coffee, and for crying-out-loud: faster service!! It shouldn't take 10 minutes to toast and slather cream cheese on my dutch-apple bagel. Just sayin... I will continue to go to you for all of my hangover-morning get-up food, but I will do so with even more of a hungover grimace on my face than usual. Tighten your drum!

Sometimes I like to stop in here as an alternative to McDonalds (ew!) when I need to grab something SUPER quick on the way to practice. I hate to skate on an empty stomach, but it's a bit better than a McDs breakfast burrito. The customer service at this joint is sub par. Expect no connection, no smile. I wonder what the production VS quality outcome is for this store. But- The outcome of the product is always the same, so there's always that to fall back on. Can't really comment too much on dining area because I never dine in. I just take my food with me. The parking lot is usually full, but you can park your car in the lot surrounding Einstein Bros.

I had a bad experience with customer service at this location. I was trying to buy coffee and bagel boxes off the catering menu. I called a day beforehand and was politely asking basic questions about what was included in the packages. The employee on the phone with me was rude and acted as if I was a huge inconvenience to her. Without notification, she transferred my call to what I imagine was the manager or someone in charge of catering. Luckily, the second person was much nicer. When I actually picked up the bagels, they were ready on time as promised, but when I reached my destination, I realized that I did not have the 4 containers of shmear I was supposed to receive. Since I had requested specific flavors of shmear on the phone the day before, my assumption was that it would all be packed up together. Apparently at Einstein, you are responsible for picking up your shmear, but no one told me of that nor is there a sign anywhere. I gave Einstein a polite phone call when I realized there was no shmear and simply asked if I could come pick it up. I did not complain about the fact that it was missing. The person on the phone with me took that opportunity to make a snide comment about how I was supposed to get it myself. If you want to be treated like you are dumb and unimportant, go to Einstein's in Broad Ripple. If you would like a good customer service experience and fresh bagels, go to Panera instead. Customer service at the Broad Ripple Panera has always been outstanding.

I have shopped at this Einsteins since it was purchased from Kenny Rogers chicken. It has slowly slid in customer service over the years but this is a new low. This place has always been confusing to order but that's Broadripple. The only thing that is consistent is the check out register being manned. Early on Sunday morning they were not using their new order taking register, I was 4th in line and they were just taking orders and making them on the fly. The 3 people in front of me were waiting on their food and I ordered 6 plain bagels not-sliced. She was bagging my bagels and all the other folks were waiting so I went to the register to pay. The gal held my bagels up at the other end then set them on the end of the counter. I told her I did not need anything else expecting somebody to check me out, and the other 3 people were all still waiting on their food. I walked down to get the bagels and one of the other customers handed them to me and the girl waiting on me told me I had just "cut" all these people in line, I said "they are waiting on their orders, I'm done" and she told me I had to go to the end of the line. First I am stunned at how the service at this once great location has declined over the years but I am more stunned at how this employee treated me! Won't be back

I'm surprised at the low reviews, but I guess bad service will show. Personally, I haven't experienced any bad service, so I can only say that I love the place. One of the things I love the most? THE COFFEE. Especially the Autumn blend. For me, it's one of the best available. I am a big fan of their bagels, sandwiches, and, of course, coffee. In fact, I'll often drive way out of my way to get their coffee and jalapeno bagel with jalapeno salsa cream cheese (if you like spicy food...try this!)

I revisited this location today, because I was badly in need of a lox bagel. I had a much better experience. The staff was friendly and helpful, the dining room was clean and my food arrived quickly. It was delicious! Not sure what has changed in this place but it has definitely changed for the better. :)

A lot of hate(ish) for this location, and I can kind of see why. On one hand this location does not have good parking, is often crowded making service slower than you'd like and can be out of bagels if you don't get there early enough. On the other hand, despite it being slow i usually find service friendly and my order is always correct. If you've been to an Einstein then you're aware that fresh bagel from here is pretty delish, so I'll keep coming as long as I can find parking!

Who doesn't love a fresh bagel for breakfast? I also scored at the office by packing in a dozen to share. The coffee is delicious and hot, and at this location the serving staff were even brightening the morning with a little singing....and she has a great voice!
