If you've bothered to read my reviews at all (You have, haven't you?), then you already know that I'm a customer service junkie. I can get over an inferior product, at least as long as it doesn't kill me, give me salmonella or otherwise permanently alter my being. Customer service? I'll admit I'm not as quick to get over a bad customer service experience. If you do me right, I tell the whole world. If you do me wrong, I shout it out to the entire universe. I've gone to this particular Dairy Queen off and on over the years, but especially over the last five years or so since I became an Eastsider (Don't hold it against me!). Now then, there's no denying that this particular DQ location is older, a wee bit dumpier (even after their fairly recent renovation), smaller, and it simply doesn't look as inviting as other locations. That said, I've always had good experiences here and the crew has always been friendly, outgoing and helpful. The parking lot has a couple of accessible parking spots with a ramp up to their sidewalk. I can honestly say that none of these are actually ADA compliant. They simply aren't. That said, for an older building they're not bad and I can make them work. Tonight, I decide to do my holiday weekend splurge and treat myself to a DQ treat despite shying away from dairy these days. Because they are also an Orange Julius, they do have options that work. I hit the drive-thru, which had about 4 cars ahead of me, and waited. I placed my order, which came out to $4.57 and handed the young woman working the drive-thru a $20 bill. After a moment, I received my item and my change - $.43. Um, what? I looked at the young woman with that look that instantly told her that something wasn't right. I said "I'm pretty sure I gave you a $20." She looked flustered and said "No, it was a $5." I looked in my hand just to make sure I had pulled out the $20 and didn't have it with me - I was absolutely certain. Now then, I'm not quite the type to throw a fit, yell, get angry, shout, threaten, etc. It doesn't mean I'm not assertive, but I tend to take a kinder and gentler approach to it. Rather than hold up the long drive-thru, I told her I'd pull over and look, but that I was absolutely sure. I stewed. I stewed. I stewed. I had lectures going on in my mind. I thought about throwing a hissy fit, though I've never really known what a hissy fit is. It sounded good, though. I also ate my ice cream before going in, because melted ice cream would only magnify the tragedy of it all. After a few minutes, a pocket check, a side of the seat check, and an accounting of how much I'd spent since my visit to the ATM the evening before I climbed out of my car and into my wheelchair, way inappropriately snapping at a very nice elderly gent simply offering help, and wandered into DQ torn between hissy fit and my usual kind demeanor. I was somewhat disappointed to realize that kindness won out immediately and I explained that I'd just gone through the drive-thru and was absolutely certain I'd handed the young woman a $20. After about 30 seconds, one of the employees immediately registered it and looked at the young woman, whom I couldn't see, and said "It's the 20 guy." This diffused me and made me laugh - I looked at another employee and said "It's not a good sign to be known as the 20 guy." After about 1 minute, an employee came over and handed me the appropriate change. Being that I doubt they just decided to relent on a $15 discrepancy, my guess is that the young woman had actually checked when she was less flustered and discovered that it was simply a mistake. They took ownership of it and corrected it. Regardless of why, in that moment they made the correct choice (and accurate choice) and fixed the problem without judgment and without an attitude. I was impressed. Majorly impressed. I returned to my car grateful for their follow-up and honesty and absolutely committed to returning in the near future AND to sharing my experience. I also stopped at the car of that aforementioned elderly gent and apologized profusely for my abrupt response to his kind offer. I think he was as surprised with my apology as I was with Dairy Queen's stellar follow-up and customer service. That's how you win customers.

This location is on the smaller site, but the employees are polite and patient. The kids I nanny and I got three kids meals, and they give you plenty of food and choices for a good price. By the time we ate our meals and dessert, we had been there for nearly an hour and never felt rushed. Plus they have plenty of napkins out which is good with little kids. There's also seating available outside.

I only get the chicken strip basket on the Food Menu. So im not sure about the Lunch or Dinner Menu. But Their Ice Cream and Blizzards are Great. I Love The Cookies and Cream Brazier. I Love The Banana Split. And The Strawberry Sundae And The Arctic Rush Chillers.

"This place could sure use a remodel..." My exact thoughts just stopping through the drive thru here on National Ice Cream Day. Looks like they read my mind because they had a note a week later on the drive thru speaker stating that the kitchen will be closing at 10 to begin their remodel. Good! I'll be happy to update this when work appears to be complete. The small sundae, $2.69. The medium sundae, which is twice the size of the small, $2.89. So the place is really not making any more money on the medium, but they are making a killing on the small. Ok, I get it, but it is kinda ridiculous, especially consdering the significant difference in portion size versus the price. It just seems like they would want more parents to bring their kids, and put some family specials together or sumthin'! Same deal with cones and size vs price. Basically, I'm not getting anything here under 2 bucks. For the price vs quality, plus marginal friendliness, it will take more than I remodel to get more than two stars.

I have never been inside, but I get the drive through often enough and this place has never let me down! The employees are all so friendly and nice!

I think the current employee's here were either having a rough day or just need to work on their customer service skills. I came through the drive thru and to make a long pointless story short- everyone was super rude. I'll give it another try sometime probably- but I'll have to remind myself about how horribly this trip went.

Not too bad! Honestly when I walked in i seriously had my doubts. But I tell you what that proves about judging a book by its cover. The employees were friendly, the place was clean and the food was good. And all at a decent price. Even the restrooms were clean. I'd definitely stop by here again!

Had a coupon for a free fruit smoothie. So, I thought I would get a burger while I was there. This burger had to be one of the worst burgers I've had. It had absolutely NO taste. That's right...tasteless. I was disappointed for sure. The fruit smoothie was just ok...nothing to write home about. If it wasn't for a free coupon I wouldn't go there to buy one.
