Cultured Swirl Menu

Sorry, We are updating this restaurant menu details.

We were in Indianapolis for a convention, and stopped here because they have dairy free (vegan) soft serve, which I had not had for over six years. The day we went the two vegan flavors they had were Strawberry Coconut and Blueberry Creme, both were absolutely amazing. They then had a whole bar of toppings from fresh fruit, to classic toppings like chocolate bits, and sprinkles, to gummy worms and potato chips. However, this amazingness came at a cost of $0.20/oz, which adds up very quickly, my husband and I spent about $20 for two cups of ice cream (one each). That being said, we went twice while we were in town, and it was worth every penny. The shop was quaint, but felt a little more on the shabby side of shabby chic. However, the swings at the front of the store were very calming to just sit on and eat ice cream.

I almost wish that I'd never stepped foot in here because now I can't stay away. I'll be honest, I don't think I've ever had a bowl of fro yo that I didn't like and I'm not an "organic only" eater, but local and organic makes this place stand out against the rest and makes me feel better about the belly ache I get every time I eat every bite of an oversized, over-topping full bowl of this stuff. Yum! (And yes, the belly ache is only because I overdo it, not because of the product.) The pomberry tart is amazing...sweet, yet tart deliciousness! Sea salt caramel, yum. I honestly can't remember every flavor that I've had, but I know I've sampled them all and I've yet to find one I didn't like. Don't worry, they truly don't mind if you sample them all. In fact, I've been encouraged to do so. Tons of toppings, so you're sure to find one or more that you like and that compliments your fro yo choice(s). Very cute shop in the heart of Fountain Square and very kid friendly. Oh, and they have swings! Yay!!

The froyo was great! Very similar to the other self serve froyo joints, though not quite as many choices. Love the swings- great people watching. The patio out back is also enjoyable. However you have to go through a back storage(?) room to get there and the seating needs a little TLC (cobwebs under a few chairs). Feels like you're hanging out in someone's backyard. I was diggin the vibe/charm, but others might not. It fits right in with Fountain Square!

Swings AND fro-yo? I'm not sure life gets much better. I happened upon The Cultured Swirl quite by accident. I was leaving #ArtSquared, a great little (big) art festival in Fountain Square when the Cultured Swirl caught my eye. Actually, it was the swings in the window that captured my attention. By my reckoning, any place that has swings as seats is worth a visit. I was pleasantly surprised by the shabby chic decor and the super friendly staff. My dessert was absolutely divine, and they're were lots of toppings to choose from. I went with mango and salted caramel topped with a little shredded coconut I only had two complaints. First, the pom-berry tart was out of order, and that's what I wanted to try most. Second, the prices seem a bit steep. If you're not careful, you'll end up with a $7 frozen treat very quickly. I suppose anything that encourages portion control can't be all bad ;-) I definitely recommend Cultured Swirl. Give the swings a go, and try the pom-berry tart for me!

It seems a new froyo place is opening up every other minute lately, but this is really the only one I'm going to need to try. It is an awesome looking place on Virginia in Fountain Square that just opened up. In their first 3 days open, I was there twice. If I remember correctly they had 6-8 different flavors, and they have little tasting cups so you can try them all. The Pom Berry Tart is far and away the best. It doesn't even need toppings. It is delicious all on it's own. If you want to add some toppings they have a great selection of fresh fruit, and just about any candy bar you want, cut into pieces. Many of the furnishings are actually available for sell, and they seem to be at really reasonable prices. The froyo is also at a good price, but I haven't been to many other froyo places, so I don't have a huge frame of reference. Either way this is the place to get your culture on.

More flavors would be nice, but what they have is very good! Salted Carmel is amazing

Cute little fro-yo shop in Fountain Square. Unique flavors like salty caramel, and tons of toppings for your frozen desserts. Hundreds if not thousands of combinations of flavors given the 8 or so flavors of yogurts and a few dozen toppings like pretzels, fancy pecans, demolished Oreos, and the list goes on and on. There are a few dining tables inside with a few nice individual swings right in the front window. You can gain access to the back patio via a short walk through the (hot) kitchen, but I'll warn you, the mosquitoes can be quite pesky at night! This local shop is worth the 55 cents an ounce :-) Great staff too!

I love stopping by this place on my way to work, or bringing my wife in to sit on the swings and people watch. Always great flavors and plenty of toppings. We finally got a great place for the sweet tooth in our beloved Fountain Square :-)

This is my favorite froyo place in the city! They have odd toppings which I appreciate-- like bacon!!

  • Brittany L.

Vegan coconut lime! Sounds weird, right?(it's delicious) No need to take any risks before dispensing a huge cup of froyo. Cultured Swirl offers tiny little sample cups, so you can fearlessly branch out into unknown froyo territory. Carmel sea salt was calling my name, but I decided to go bold with the coconut lime. They offer toppings galore, including my favorite, malted milk balls. Some unique choices, too, like bacon, and potato chips. The combo possibilities seem endless. I'll definitely return to try other combinations. This place is on my bike commute route to and from work, so it won't be difficult to find an excuse to drop in.

Cultured Swirl: it was subpar. I wasn't let down but at the same time it didn't really excite me. The flavors were interesting and the toppings were fresh. The staff was friendly and the atmosphere was nice. Back to the frozen yogurt, I like the idea that it is organic but the price is pretty steep. $20 for 2 bowls of frozen yogurt kind of hurt a little. It didn't hit the spot like I was expecting based of the ratings and other reviews but I guess I set my expectations too high.

On taste alone, Cultured Swirl gets 5 stars. I've had Orange Leaf, Yogulatte, Pearings, and more in Indy...and nothing beats the taste of Cultured Swirl's salted caramel topped with hot nutella. I'm fortunate to live fairly close to this place and the craving is real, people! Now, let's be honest- this yogurt shop is certainly not the cleanest or most well-kept. The back patio is cute but always dirty. (Think dusty chairs and mysterious drips of water.) You have to walk through the back room and kitchen to even get there. The toppings bar gets messy and it's not uncommon to see chocolatey items melted into one big glob. Instead of the modern look most froyo places adopt, this place has a kitschy, resale shop vibe...all of the used, reclaimed furniture actually is for sale. On my visit tonight, the toppings bar had no brownie pieces, cheesecake bites, peanut butter cups, or cookie dough! They DID have hot peppers, cherry tomatoes, cucumbers, goldfish crackers, and potato chips. Hmm. I'm all for getting creative but I think you've got to at least offer the basics. Maybe this all comes with being part of the Fountain Square neighborhood? Anyway, I keep coming back because the salted caramel froyo is good. REALLY good.

This review is going to be short, sweet, and to the point. This fro yo is so freaking delicious!!! Most of the fro-yo spots popping up around town are hit or miss with most I've been to being total misses. I was hesitant to go into Cultured Swirl. I figured it would be over priced and not very tasty. Oh, I was wrong. I had a medley of random flavors. Good old chocolate and vanilla then a random sampling of salted caramel and peanut butter. The chocolate actually tasted like chocolate and not some generic powdery concoction like other establishments. The salted caramel was, well, the bomb diggity! All four flavors are winners in my book. The price tag was 6 bucks and some change. Pricey, but no more than other places. I marked it down 1 star because although they had an array of toppings, the majority chocolate toppings had softened and were clumpy or close to melted. Um, not cool. I know I came in near closing, but that was so unappealing and impacted what I could select. I didn't want a clump of malt balls or Reese's cups on my fro-yo. I was so disappointed. Minus the minor topping issue, Overall awesome, awesome place! Can't wait to go back and try different flavors.

While biking the cultural trail, ice cream was on the mind of my biking crew. We found this yogurt place while we were in Fountain Square. I'll be honest, I loooooove FroYo. After living in SoCal for three years, it becomes a necessity for your life. I consider myself a connoisseur, and this was just okay for me... especially for the price per ounce. For FroYo, it was pretty heavy and reallyyyy sweet. They had a good toppings selection. As we all snacked on our yogurt though, it felt like we were settling. The flavors were gourmet and good... but I really thought they were juuuust okay. Check it out if you want to, but you don't gotta.

Cultured Swirl is a neat little frozen yogurt shop. Its yogurt selection and toppings aren't a whole lot different from the big chains but its local ownership does make a notable difference. They have eight flavors of fro yo. They always have Pom-berry (tart and sweet, my go-to) a vanilla and chocolate option, a few roving options (coconut, salted caramel, etc) and two vegan options. Their toppings consist of fruit (cherries, berries, kiwi, etc ), candy pieces (Whoppers, Snickers, M&Ms, Butterfingers, Heath), bacon, cereals, sauces (Nutella, caramel, chocolate) and then some. The unique features that make this a great shop include swings, their outdoor patio, live music performances, and their rewards program (10 yogurts of any size get you one free yogurt of any size). My wife and I have been coming here a minimum of once a month since it opened. Supposedly they're starting a second location in Irvington soon (according to their employees) which will only increase the amount of time we spend here.

Tasty froyo in a comfy shop. We were greeted as we entered and offered samples of all the flavors of froyo. They had 8 flavors and a variety of toppings available. The service was good and the yogurt was tasty. We sat at the mismatched tables & chairs setup in the front while other patrons used the 4 swings available facing out to Virginia Av. Good service and froyo with unique seating make this a fun recommendation.

I LOVE fro-yo. So obviously when I moved to Indy and a friend recommended this place, we had to go. Their flavor selection is smaller than one might be used to--it's more like a Red Mango variety than a Sweet Frog, with eight flavors on the tap [two of which are vegan, how progressive!] I sampled the blueberry cheesecake, pomberry tart, vanilla, and salted caramel before settling on a nice mix of the caramel and vanilla. And then I saw the toppings bar.... SO many creative options that I'd never seen before, such as bacon, sea salt and ruffled potato chips. Genius! Of course, if you're more of a traditionalist, you can still get your gummies, sprinkles, fruit, or nuts. And did I mention the HOT MELTED NUTELLA in a bottle? Pretty amazing, if you ask me. [Side note: the only thing that mildly concerned me while here was the abundance of gnats in this place--you know, those little guys that sometimes swarm your sink or trash can? I can see why they're here, but find it a little disconcerting that they've been feasting on my mix-ins before I have; hence the lower star rating] Seating is ample at this Fountain Square fixture, and if it's a nice night out, I highly encourage you to go sit in the backyard on a rocker or patio chair. The ambience is perfect for enjoying a cool treat.

Hands down the best frozen yogurt in town (or Fro-Gurt for you Simpson's fans). The fact that everything is organic makes it even better. Plus they always have a couple of delicious vegan offerings available (coconut milk fro-gurt - yessss!) Try a couple of samples before you self-serve your creation - I usually mix two together for a unique flavor combination. The pomegranate berry is an all time favorite but I've loved every flavor I've tried here. They have lots of toppings and sauces but honestly, I've never felt the need for them, the yogurt stands out so well on its own, why add anything else? This place is a must try, you'll become a regular for sure. We try to stop by for dessert after dining anywhere in Fountain Square. Indulge!

  • Trena T.

Not one to indulge often in sweets (I'm more likely to down a bag of potato chips than go after cookies), this is our go-to for sweet treats. They have 8 varieties of organic frozen yogurt. And it's real yogurt. I won't name names here, but some of you fro-yo fans are definitely getting reconstituted powder at your places. (And if that's okay with you, carry on!) My favorite combination is vanilla with bacon, granola, and maple syrup. But no matter your food style and preference, they've got something for you. The pomberry tart is awesome, as is the dutch chocolate. Last night, I saw apple cinnamon, which was new to us. They have a great selection of toppings, lots of fruit (even sweet pepper rings), lots of candy. Perhaps most importantly, they have warmed Nutella! They have an adorable patio behind the building, where you can enjoy your fro-yo, if you don't want to walk the neighborhood. Also popular: the wooden swings at the front of the shop, overlooking the sidewalk---perfect for people watching!

  • Brittany S.

The Dutch Chocolate Frozen Yogurt and Sea Salt did the nasty in my mouth. I know, I know. You're jealous. And you're asking yourself how I can talk so perversely about ice cream. Well, once you've tried it, you'll understand. It was First Friday and as my friend would say, "this place was jiggity jammed." Was I actually hungry when I walked in? No. Did I eat more than I should have? Well, duh. I opted more classically than usual, my cup was 50 percent vanilla with berries and Reeses pieces and 50 percent Dutch chocolate and sea salt. Remember this and only this if it be anything from this review: try the chocolate topped lightly with sea salt. Your mind will be blown. Especially if you fancy sweet and salty like moi. A few reasons you'll enjoy Cultured Swirl: -perfect location - makes total sense for the Fountain Square neighborhood -swing chairs at the bar facing out onto the street -sample cups to try before you make the big decision -friendly and interactive owners -custom wooden spoons with their clever logo Needless to say, I really enjoyed my visit and that the total only ended up being $3. The Yelp reviews are right. You need to check this place out. Be a copy cat and add it to your next First Friday hit list.

It's great that there's so many toppings, but I'm here to tell you, YA DON´T NEED 'EM. This froyo is delicious all by itself. Now that the weather's warming up, grab some friends and sit out back on the patio. Or pack a pint or two to take home, it freezes really well.

    (5)
  • Katie F.

What a great place to grab froyo! Your typical frozen yogurt stop, but with a twist! (get it, get it?!?) They have lots of flavors, and even more toppings, but my favorite part was that everything was recyclable (even the wooden spoon!). Their organic stance and all their vegan offerings make it a bit special. They have fun wooden swings hanging by the window and when we stopped by on a Friday night, they even had some good live music!

  • Sam M.

The dark chocolate and coconut, mango vegan options are in a word, divine. I took a brave step and plunged into the world of vegan ice cream without even sampling them and was definitely not disappointed! I of course however had to add in those ever so tasty and most certainly not vegan chocolate chunks and melon gushers. Yum! All in all, it was a great night out with some good friends of mine. We love the atmosphere there and cannot help releasing our inner child on the swings conveniently located by the windows. If you are in town, this is a must try!

I really like the feel of this place. Unique and familiar flavors, cool country decor and a small cozy feeling. Many of these places especially in suburbia are very large and relatively sterile. This was a nice change. Other perks are a frequent customer card or phone app and a bracelet that will get you a free ounce every time! Great place to stop for a treat in FS.

understand the self-serve frozen yogurt/ice cream/whatever craze both from the customer's and the vendor's viewpoint; the customer gets to choose how much he wants, with exactly the amounts and proportions of the toppings he wants, and the seller lets customers underestimate how much weight they're actually serving up. This is the first time I've been in a self-serve frozen whatever place since the craze started; Cultured Swirl's yogurt selection seemed fine (given how much it must cost to purchase and maintain the equipment), but it was disappointing to find that they didn't have chocolate or vanilla, the two staple flavors of the frozen whatever world, due to machine failure. Per the person at the counter, the machine had been giving them trouble all week, which might have been cause to switch the chocolate and vanilla to a more reliable machine. Exotic flavors are great for the adventurous palette, but what about people looking for the basics? The salted caramel was good, however, as was the mango-coconut (I went with salted caramel). The toppings bar is interestingly varied, though I wasn't adventurous enough to go with anything more outre than toffee bits and hot fudge. I don't fault the staff for the fruit flies around the toppings bar--come summer, the little buggers (fruit flies, not Cultured Swirl staff) find their way into our kitchen no matter what we do, and are a fact of life until winter--but covers on the topping bins would have gone a long way toward keeping the flies from actual contact with the food. Fruit flies don't respect sneeze guards. Overall the yogurt was good and the physical space was funky and interesting, but nothing about my experience was awesome enough to make me choose Cultured Swirl over any other frozen whatever vendor, self-serve or otherwise.

This place is so fun! They have swings for seats at the window. Grab some tasty froyo, a swing, and enjoy some childhood. There weren't a million toppings available like most places but the froyo flavors available more than made up for it. I tried the vegan kiwi because it just sounded good and wow was it delicious. Really great fresh flavors. Yet another wonderful addition to Fountain Square!

This place has swings. Seriously. SWINGS. The rest of the furniture is a collection of for-sale items that I would never allow in my apartment, but it works for this place. It had a cozy-ish atmosphere. As for the fro-yo, there's not much to say about it. It's pretty good frozen yogurt with a ton of toppings, but nothing to freak out about. The major positive is that it's all organic and they have vegan options if that's your thing. It was a nice place to swing by (pun intended) for a quick snack and was reasonably priced. I'd go back as long as someone gives up a swing.

  • Laura M.

As froyo places go (and it seems like they're becomes as ubiquitous as Starbucks) this one is up there with the best of em. It's all organic, non GMO, and tastes good to boot. Let's talk about the hot nutella sauce. Actually, we probably don't need to talk because that sentence speaks for itself. It's a nice setup inside, with swings and some mismatched furniture. The kind of ambiance that your favorite hometown coffee shop has. The prices are definitely reasonable too, which rocks.

Who wouldn't love this place? I stopped in on a Monday afternoon and left with a full tummy and a smile on my face! I went the healthy route with dutch chocolate yogurt smothered in about every type of chocolate candy they had. At $0.55 an ounce, my yogurt came out to between 6 and 7 bucks. Now, that's a lot for a dish of fro-yo, but it was delicious so the price didn't stop me. They let you sample all the different yogurt options as well, so you know you're going to like what you get. From there load it up with your fave toppings (and they have everything you could ever want, including warm nutella). Weigh your cup and pay up! You can sit inside, but since it was nice we chose to eat outside in their back patio. You have to walk through the kitchen to get outside, but I recommend sitting back here if the weather is nice. You'll find a perfectly cozy spot to slip into your diabetic coma.

I'm by no means a fro-yo connoisseur, but I know tasty and Cultured Swirl is tasty. I appreciate that they have some fruity and some standard (DUTCH CHOCOLATE, OMG) flavors of fro-yo. It's all organic and makes you feel good. Then there are the toppings and these are self-serve. Now remember you pay by the ounce so easy on the M&Ms, yo. But be sure to check out the warm 'sauces' like nutella and peanut butter. Warm nutella... Now I very much enjoyed my fro-yo, but nothing made it more delicious than sitting on one of the wooden swings by the front window and going back to yesteryear. I highly recommend supporting Cultured Swirl -- they're local and they're delicious.

I'm a froyo addict so this is heaven! The yogurt taste so fresh and organic its amazing. The topping selection is good and they also try to keep organic toppings. Plus they have swings!

Oh me oh my do I love frozen yogurt! I was super excited about Cultured Swirl coming to the Square and they are definitely becoming a favorite of the neighborhood. We came here the night after they opened and were surprised by the cute decor and the fun flavors they had to offer. I really like the old-fashioned vanilla...my great excuse for piling on topping!!! But the pom-berry tart with blueberries or the dutch chocolate with sea salt is delicious!!! One cool unique tip is their decorations, chairs and tables, are for sale!! Just a cute idea if you come in and think a piece of furniture would look great in your urban cottage. I also love and adore the swings they have at the front of the shop. It's such a relaxing spot to sit, eat your frozen yogurt, and watch people across the street on the Cultural Trail. I am so happy we finally have a dessert shop in the Square and I hope they become a permanent member of our neighborhood! :)

As Rachel Ray would say, Yummo! The yogurt was excellent. A wide variety of flavors. If organic products are something you value, this is the place for you to get excellent yogurt downtown. In addition to the broad spectrum of flavors (6 I believe), there are plenty of toppings to bedazzle your treat. I had the Dutch Chocolate and Vanilla yogurt with just a little bit of strawberries so that I could really taste the yogurt and not just the toppings. I really liked both flavors equally. I would highly recommend both. The Dutch Chocolate was rich, but not overwhelming. The Vanilla taste like quality vanilla. Simple and sweet. The spoons are wooden which is neat and better for the environment because wood breaks down in the landfill faster than plastic. The Earth thanks you Cultured Swirl. The chairs and tables inside are so cute and eclectic. It's like a Better Homes and Garden scene. Fun fact, if you really like the chair you're sitting on, you can buy it! The chairs and tables are all for sale! My only complaint would be that the prices were just a tad higher than other frozen yogurt places in the Indianapolis area. However, I was drinking when I dished out my serving so maybe I pilled the yogurt a bit higher than I thought. Definitely worthy of a pit stop off of the cultural trail.

I can't believe I've been living a stone's throw away from this place and I've only NOW just visited them. Came here on a Friday but before the evening rush of people so I was the only customer. The gentleman behind the counter was so nice! (I don't know why I'm so surprised. I consistently get good service from Indy-ers. It's just awesome. Going back to California is going to be a shock and a half :/) He encouraged me to sample to my heart's content. He also knew where my weaknesses lay, because he pointed out the hot nutella and toppings buffet (honestly, who are we kidding here? Yogurt is just an excuse to dump all this goodness on top without guilt). I ended up getting the pomberry and salted caramel, which were both as creamy and delicious as I was hoping for, and topped it off with a relish of raspberries, vanilla wafers, and chocolate peanut butter cups! I was a bit disappointed that the yogurt consistency was on the melty side, but even the liquidy-ness was so good that I lapped it all up with a smile on my face. Totally love this place and am going to keep coming back til they kick me out.

  • Tiffany B.

They have a changing selection of rad fro-yo flavors and the usual suspects in the toppings department. I combo'd the cheesecake and salted caramel...nice. They have swings--I know you've already heard--for those of us who cannot keep still with yogurt or without. yum. go.

  • Kate D.

I have to admit I am more of an icecream girl than a froyo type. But this place has some flavors that are so different than what I have seen anywhere else in town. They only have six flavors, and I don't like plain vanilla or chocolate. But the other four were so good I got myself one of each in the cup! The vegan coconut was so good, if I had to be vegan I would live off this for breakfast lunch and dessert! The shop is really cute and calming actually. The swings are a cute touch, and the chairs outside are nice to let the evening stroll by in while you savor flavors like key lime or salted caramel! Do give this place a try, more so for the amazing flavors than for the frozen yogurt. Although if you don't like wooden spoons maybe bring a plastic one in your purse!

  • Kjirsten K.

Although I always try the different yogurt flavors, I always settle on vanilla or something similar (vanilla/chocolate swirl, cheesecake, etc). The reason being, it allows for more creativity when choosing toppings! They have all kinds of fun toppings! The have bacon, and hot peanut butter, cereals, and chocolates, and fresh fruit. I think they have a better topping selection than other yogurt shops I have been to. A couple other things I love about Cultured Swirl are the yogurts are organic, the decor is adorable, and it is so much fun to sit in the swings facing the street while you eat your yogurt. One more win for Fountain Square!

I didn't really love frozen yogurt when it first made an appearance in the 90s (80s?), but I'm totally into the new self-serve-with-toppings incarnation. I'm not sure my palate is refined enough to tell the difference in taste between Cultured Swirl's organic, non-GMO frozen yogurt and the frozen yogurt at regular places, but it doesn't matter. I'm happy to go with non-GMO, and to support this cool local biz. They have great toppings on offer too!

As I was walking in I came to the conclusion that I'm sort of a gelato snob. I scoff (internally) at frozen yogurt. Ice cream made from beans...pffft. I was able to dislodge this chip on my shoulder long enough to get through the door and wow, was I wrong. This stuff is fantastic! I tried all six flavors (chocolate, vanilla, key lime, salted caramel, coconut and tart berry) - sampled 2, bought 4. They were all very good, but the coconut (vegan) and salted caramel were exceptional. The owner was friendly and informative. They have individual throw-away wood spoons - not like paddles, but shaped like a regular spoon. Eco friendly and so, so cool.

I have had the honor of visiting this place about 5 times now and each time the guest service was exemplary and the organic yogurt was brilliant in flavor and mouthfeel. The key to a great frozen yogurt experience, for me, is not necessarily the amount of flavors available. It is the presence of a hot fudge pump. This turns even the most basic flavors into a dazzling display of delight. They not only have the hot fudge pump but also warmed nutella and caramel sauce. Luckily, this place offers even more. Salted caramel is one of the better flavors in any frozen yogurt shop that I have tried in a while. The pineapple and mango swirl was fantastic as well. The place is much different aesthetically than most other froyo shops. This is vintagey, charming and gritty. Not a lot of neon and bright colors. Not sterile and chilly. I think this place has the recipe for a long stay. Yelpers, let's make sure we help this happen.

I'm so excited that this place now exists in Fountain Square! It's close to home, easy-ish parking, and the prices aren't too bad! I had the salted caramel fro-yo and I absolutely died! I, of course, had to throw in some chocolate as well. It seriously tasted so good! Who even knew that it was organic?! And they have lots of great toppings, example: CINNAMON TOAST CRUNCH! Yummy! The decor is so cute and clever - SWINGS IN THE WINDOW! How brilliant for summer! The people working seem pretty nice as well! Hope to see this place sticking around in Fountain Square for quite awhile!

Yet another reason to venture over to The Fletcher Place/Fountain Square neighborhood. A really cute gem of a place-and welcome addition to the neighborhood! All organic yogurts and topping such as Nutella-how can you go wrong? Sit on a swing and enjoy your delicious yogurt!!

  • Katie B.

Yum, salted carmel frozen yogurt! Warm nutella topping! I tried all the other fro-yo flavors available, and the pomegranate was my second favorite. The location right on Virginia is great. They also have outdoor seating in the back. I'm not sure I can tell one frozen yogurt place from another, but this is yet another one I like.

Highly recommend this extremely cute fro yo shop in Fountain Square! From the delicious organic gluten free yogurts to the adorable swings in the front of the shop you can sit on while devouring your yogurt, this place is the perfect dessert spot! There's a great assortment of flavors to choose from, all are organic and gluten free. They usually have a vegan yogurt option too, if that's what you're looking for. Also a huge selection of toppings (fresh fruit, candies, nuts, and sauces). Best thing there--warm Nutella! The service here is great too! They allow you to taste any flavors before you fill your cup (which is bigger than it appears on first glance). I ended up with way too much frozen deliciousness in my cup. Yep, first world problem right here! If you haven't been in yet, what are you waiting for? Get yourself some awesome yogurt at Cultured Swirl!

Was sadly dissapointed with this shop. We went at 8:30 pm only to find them practically closed. And the flavors werent that great but really expensive! 20$$ for two barely filled bowls!

The boyfriend and I went to Cultured Swirl this evening on recommendation from my mother, who lives in Fletcher Place. We walked in, and it looked kind of quaint. Cute decor, only a few other patrons in the shop. No greeting or "have you guys been here before?" from the girl behind the counter, who seemed nice enough but clearly didn't care whether or not she was there at all. The cutesy little signs over the self-serve soft-serve machines bearing the flavors were obvious enough, so we grabbed a paper bowl each from the dispenser and made our choices. I went with cheesecake flavor, and added a few peanut butter cups and cookie dough bites. The boyfriend got dutch chocolate & salted caramel with pecans, peanut butter, and caramel sauce. We paid, and walked outside to enjoy the weather. My first bite was kind of shocking. It tasted bad, but I couldn't place why. I tasted it again, knocking away any mix-ins so I could make sure it was just the frozen yogurt that tasted so bad, and it was. I had my boyfriend try it, and he thought for a second and said, "It's coconut." I agreed that it definitely was (I can't stand coconut-flavored anything), and sat there kind of sadly for a minute before he suggested going back in the shop and asking about it. We went back in, and the girl from behind the counter had disappeared, replaced by a young guy sweeping the floor near the soft-serve wall. He half-ignored us until I directly asked him if the sign saying "Cheesecake" was correct, or if there was another flavor in the machine. He just shrugged at me and said "No, it's cheesecake, but a lot of people think it tastes like coconut." Then he went back to sweeping. We walked back outside and threw away both of our bowls without eating any more. The boyfriend said that neither of the two flavors he had were good either, lacking in any distinct flavor. We got back in the car and headed home to Mass Ave, where the new Sub Zero Ice Cream shop was more than happy to make us something good. Tonight's experience at Cultured Swirl was just annoying enough for me to never go back there. Coconut is one of those flavors that people either love or hate, so if you've got several customers reporting that one of your flavors actually tastes like coconut, you should at least put up a little mini-sign letting people know. The complete indifference of the staff wouldn't have been a dealbreaker by itself, but it was just another strike. No amount of gimmicky swingset chairs or claims of "all organic" are enough to save my opinion of the place.

Love everything about this place! The quality of the frozen yogurt is impeccable, organic, no artificial colors or flavored. The varieties change, but a regular is the salted carmel,so delicious. Also a couple vegan options as well. Lots of fresh fruit toppings, candies, bacon, warm Nutella, peanut butter, and maple syrup! The atmosphere is comfy and inviting, love the swings:)

I am a die hard orange leaf fan... that is until I met cultured swirl. oh my goodness! super green establishment and delicious frozen yogurt. I had chocolate in its purest form without toppings and compared it to pinkberry, orangeleaf, yogulatte-- this place really stands out as being flavor-packed and savory! stop by after dinner and you won't regret you did.

Woah, what happened here?!?! Quite frankly, Cultured Swirl was an utter disappointment after hearing all the hype. This place only had 6 flavors, two of which were vanilla and chocolate (boring!). The pineapple tart yogurt sounded refreshing in theory, but it was way too sweet and artificial tasting. The pom-berry was bland, and the salted caramel left a weird after taste. And the toppings were just as horrible. Many of the fruit dishes weren't replenished (there was still 3 hours left before closing), and some of the dried toppings were completely clumped up. When we finished eating, it was dead (on a Friday evening), so it was surprising when the employee behind the counter didn't say goodbye/thanked us as we walked out. This lack of customer service sealed the deal for me - I'm sad to report that I won't be returning.

There are so many frozen yogurt places popping up nowadays, but this is my favorite. They may not have as many toppings as some of the chains, but their yogurt quality is the best. All organic with rotating flavors and a decent toppings bar. The inside is also very cute, decked out in retro decor unlike the other yogurt places with their nauseating color schemes. They offer hot chocolate and coffee too.

I love that this yogurt us organic and the flavor is amazing. I got the salted Carmel - whooooo hooooo - you're gonna be happy I suggested it. I added some Choco shavings and hot fudge - super yum!! A classic when it comes to ice cream but my partner that day in froyo paradise is not and went with a wacky tart pomberry topped with sweet peppers. He was in freaky froyo joy!! This is a great feeling place - super shabby chic feel to it - they have swings inside. What else do you need to know - just go!!

The Cultured Swirl is a clever, semi-hipster froyo place. I tried the amazing pom-berry with some blackberries and loooooved it. This is not a good place for all of the kiddie flavors and toppings like at some froyo places (think Fruitty Pebbles or Cake Batter). It focuses on simple, beautiful ingredients. You'll be happy with the results. Also, if you like any of the furniture in the place, you can buy it! Pretty cool concept.

We've given them business three times in the span of a month, so that must mean we love it. Normally I really prefer regular ice cream to froyo, but that doesn't seem to be an issue here. We've probably tried all of the flavors at this point (at least in little sample cups), but the winners have been the chocolate, pom berry, and salted caramel. The variety of toppings is great. We've found it to be really affordable--around $6 total (2 adults) each time we've been. Another thing worth pointing out is that the froyo and toppings areas have consistently been very clean, which is definitely something to applaud when everyone (including kids) are self serving. My one complaint the first time were the wooden spoons. I know, I know, they're better for the environment, but I just do not like the way they feel in my mouth...I'm cringing while thinking about it. Last time I thought to ask about a plastic spoon, and they had a little stash under the counter, so that problem has been solved. Make sure to get one of their rewards cards--one stamp per cup until you get ten, and then you get one free. Based on our prices, that seems like such a good deal! I asked them about coming to Irvington too, and they said it might be on the radar. That's all I need to make my wallet a little lighter :)

Love this organic fro-yo! Everyone is super friendly and encourage you to try their different options. Their furniture is always rotating and for sale which keeps things interesting. They also keep doggy treats for when I bring my pup. It's a great environment to hang out and eat your creation. Also there's a pretty legit pizza place hiding in the back....

AMAZING frozen yogurt! There were several toppings to choose from which makes it even more tasty. I love that the ingredients are organic! The gentleman working was extremely nice and helpful. The next time I'm in the area I'll definitely make a trip back to Cultured Swirl!

Creamy, cold, and lovely is what this place is. They have so many toppings, and they're good. It had a great ambiance and feel. I definitely love their swing chairs that look out onto the street! The only semi-downside about the place is the cheesecake flavor taste like coconut, and the pineapple is gross. Other than those things it is a very very tasty and nifty shop!

I put a crap ton of peanut butter and chocolate related candy on my yogurt because I could, and it was the shit!

One word: Amazing. You know what's not amazing though? Falling in love with a place that says they're vegan-friendly and has vegan froyo, but only carries it sometimes (every few weeks) and tells their vegan customers to call back every day to see if they are serving any vegan flavors that day. This isn't just sucky for vegans, it's bad customer service and shows me that they don't value a large chunk of their clientele. They're losing money by not offering a vegan option daily; not only because vegans cannot be paying customers where they can't eat, but because people may stop going there after so many times of having to walk out after dreaming of Coconut Froyo with pretzels for an entire day. Despite this tragedy today, I'll continue to frequent this establishment, as long as I'm able to actually eat there. I'll just make sure I call next time before I get my hopes up.

This was the best place to get frozen yogurt I've ever been to. They have a very friendly staff great tasting yogurt and more topping then I knew what to do with defiantly coming back here again.

We were excited to try this new, local frozen yogurt shop. The yogurt and toppings were excellent, the employees friendly, and the atmosphere was great. They have swings inside the windows where you can sit to enjoy a snack and watch the activity on Virginia Ave. Bike parking is available on the Cultural Trail just across the street. With this place and Yogulatte around, I can't imagine ever wanting to go to one of those chain fro-yo shops.

Went here while visiting family in the city. The owner was very friendly and efficient. The yogurt was wonderful. I sampled all of the ones I thought I might like and they we all great. I settled on the pomegranate tart and the salted caramel. They were both fantastic, but personally liked the salted caramel better. But my son always get the pomegranate. Be careful about how much toppings you add, as the cost goes up quickly. Just ask my husband who had never been to one of these places. He went a little crazy and was shocked at the price. If you are ever in Fountain Square in INDY check it out.

we went on a saturday night after hearing rave reviews from a co-worker. sampled a couple of flavors, which were fine, but really not all that spectacular. i felt somewhat obligated to get some yogurt, but after taking my cup up to the counter, none of the employees seemed to notice that we were ready to check out, even though we were in plain view. after waiting for a few minutes, it seemed as if one of the employees saw us and was coming to ring us up. instead, he just talked to his coworker and did not come to help us. we left our ice cream on the counter and walked out. wont be going back.
