I happen to enjoy the giftshop, it has a lot of neat quirky things you wouldn't find in any other store. From old fashioned candy, unique toys, and holiday themed items, there's sure to be something kitschy if you so desire. Food at just about every Cracker Barrel I have been to has been great across the board. For a chain restaurant, they are definitely a step above good old Denny's. It is not "healthy", but why not have a treat once in awhile? Loved the homebaked flaky warm biscuits and the hashbrown casserole was all sorts of deliciousness. Potatoes, cheese, butter, (again, I know it's not the healthiest thing in the world), but wow, it was so good! I had a very simple grilled cheese sandwhich with a side of onion rings. The grilled cheese was perfectly made, it had buttered bread and nicely melted cheese. Onion rings were fresh, crisp and not overly oily. Because everything was so rich, I had only half my sandwhich and half the order of onion rings and took the rest home. I ate the leftovers again the next day, reheated in the oven and it was slightly less tasty, but still very good overall. Waitress was friendly and efficient. We came on the Friday night before the Superbowl in Indy. The place was packed, but orders and food came in a timely manner. I had an excellent experience here and would return if I am ever in this area again.

My wife and her parents, when we first started dating, LIVED here. They knew, and were known (by name) by all of the servers. That isn't the problem, because I like the idea of being a regular and the staff paying attention to the fact you frequent their establishment. So the service is not the problem. The food is.... The ONLY reason I can think of going here (or any other Cracker Barrel) is if you really enjoy your food tasting more like the lard or vegetable oil it was fried in. I can't imagine ever going back to one of these to eat.

We love coming here for breakfast or brunch. The food is very good and the prices are reasonable. They have the best sourdough French toast. Sunday's are usually pretty busy due to the after church crowd so you may have a little bit of a wait. Lunch and dinner is also good. Breakfast is available all day. I wouldn't say it's the best breakfast I ever had but it's pretty good.

There is something to say about a good old fashioned Cracker Barrel when you are on the road. Cracker Barrel is not a place you go if you are on a short time schedule. Go eat some fast food for that. When a family is on a nice leisurely vacation, this is MUCH better than going to McDonald's for dinner. Definitely not a 4, but not a 3 either, so 3.5 it is. Food: 3.5/5 stars. Most of the food was pretty bland, but all it needed was just a little salt to bring out the flavors in each dish. My dad says that it's better to under salt something than over salt a dish. I mean honestly...not everyone is going to want the same amount of salt in their dish. So I really don't mind the blandness problem as long as it's easily fixed with salt. Main Dishes: Country Fried Steak - 2 Beef Stew Salmon Patties Side Dishes: Country Style Green Beans Fried Apples Turnip Greens Hashbrown Casserole Mac and Cheese I would get the Beef Stew again, but the Country Fried Steak was by far the most appetizing looking dish. The Salmon Patties did not look appetizing at all... Service: Cheyreel was our server (sorry if I butchered the spelling). She was pretty darn awesome. Funny, delightful and just the kind of server you want to have. She was courteous and knew her menu. When my mother asked her to choose between two dishes, you could tell she wasn't faking choosing. I love the midwest because the only servers I've had better on the East Coast originally come from the South or the....cough...Midwest!!!!!

Food was good, but they were so busy Which made them kinda slow. Usually it's a little better, but Sunday morning after church will always be crazy. Server was friendly, but seemed overwhelmed because she kept forgetting things. Overall enjoyable and of course I'm coming back, just maybe a different time.

I ordered food to go and it was still hot and good when I walked back to my hotel. No complaints. I would most definitely order from them again.

Hubby and I were sleepy and hungry, so we just stopped and got Cracker Barrel. I have been coming to CB's all my life and this location was not different than the only locations all around Indiana that I have visited before. I always get breakfast: the Hashbrown Casserole was a bit disappointment in the serving, For $3 I got a small little plate of this item. My pancake, egg breakers, and bacon was spot on. Hubby got the chicken and rice soup, which he enjoyed as well as the steak dinner. The food was good, as always. The service was ok. It was the end of Sunday night for the service crew, so I think that is why they all were a bit slow, but it was ok. We may visit again.

came here for a pit stop on our way back from our trip.. found it pretty cool that it got a small shop in there that sells candy, dolls, toys, etc .... the service was friendly which was nice. i ordered the country fried steak with 2 biscuits, fries, mac and cheese, and dumplings... i find that the food is just average.. there was nothing special.. to me it tasted like a normal dine in restaurant food.. maybe its the food i chose..

I haven't been to a cracker barrel in years, but on my way home I was really wanting some good comfort food. This visit really hit the spot for me, and we received super excellent service. Food was brought out within 10 minutes, and everything was hot and super yummy. The gift shop is always fun to look through.

I love cracker barrel so much it brings a tear to my eye. To bad Im in California where IHOP is what reins supreme with its lack of hardiness. Cracker barrel is quality. From their meats, breads, potatoes and so on they want to fill you up. IHOP will give you great pancakes and crap everything else. Thank you cracker barrel for showing me the way.

I'm a picky eater. I know it. Because I know it, I made a pact to never go into a Cracker Barrel. And for almost 25 years, I did a pretty good job. But on a warm morning at 6:00AM, just past the safety of the Ohio borders, the persons driving me through Indiana decided to stop at a Cracker Barrel, and now, I have a review that I wish I did not. Any self respecting restaurant would not have it's entrance open to a gift shop, a very, very large, gift shop, before entering into the arena of food. And yet, this is Cracker Barrel. Walls stuffed with crappy nicnacs of all sorts, books on tape, candy, and cheap children's toys. It is your basic truck-stop setup. Beyond the bright lights of the gift shop was the dimly lit dining area. Everything stained wood, collections of "antiques" adorning every free space of wall or ceiling with no concrete motif. I assumed I had walked into the basement of an Elk's Lodge or perhaps the cabin of a hoarder. But no, something pretending to be breakfast was supposed to be served here. We were served coffee, made poorly. We were sat by one of 4 waitresses. We were the only customers in the place at the time. Yet the coffee could not be made correctly, and the food which followed, was abysmal. I had bacon and "hashbrown casserole." Do yourselves a favor and just never eat this crap. The bacon was burned, all 3 pieces, and the "casserole" was nothing more than soggy hashbrowns mixed with velveeta (oh yes, I know the taste very well) and lots of pepper. It tore through my body before I had time to get out of the front door. In case you are wondering, there were 3 other people eating with me, and they either refused to finish their food, or ended up in the bathroom immediately as well. This does not speak well of their culinary prowess. There was no courtesy, there was no reason I would ever want to go back.
