Ok. I gotta put this location on BLAST here. Let me start by saying that I love COLD STONE CREAMERY as a whole. If you live on Indy's west side, drive to the Plainfield store at Metropolis or register your birthday complimentary desert there. The Avon location had its' day in the sun, but just like on any hot day, the ice cream melts fast and so did this locations opportunity to keep me coming back. When the location first opened, you got the royal treatment and fan-fare of a flagship franchise Cold Stone Creamery. The employees sang out the Cold Stone songs and pleasantries, the orders were quick and accurate, and you felt like visiting time and time again. Nowadays, the owner/operator greets you with "What you want" and before I could even order, he says, "No coupons here". I happened to have the latest Entertainment Book in hand and was looking to use one coupon and walk out of the store with 5 different orders for the family. I only planned to use the one coupon for one order as it stated, but he simply refused entertaining the Entertainment Book offering. I placed my order, but it left an impression. I went back several other times afterward with the same parting feelings of "what is this guys problem" for a myriad of other reasons not even relating to discounts or coupons. I guess some people think they can run a franchise by name alone with little to no people skills. I would recommend the Plainfield location as they are always pleasant and friendly.

Best place ever! You get whatever your heart desires! You can create your own ice cream with any flavor and all the toppings you could ever want! totally worth the 7 minute wait in line! Staff is always friendly and greet you with the biggest smile! I just can't get enough of their cupcakes!

Ice cream is always great. However, as mentioned below the service isn't the best. The grocery store greeters are friendlier than the workers here. On top of that, most of the time all employees are in the back of the restaurant when you enter.

You can't really be give a bad rating to a place that greets you when you walk in the door, allows you to sample anything you want (as much as you want also), and only requires you to build your dream sundae. I mean, maybe if you don't like fuzzy little puppies or finding money on the ground, then yea...maybe you may not like it.

The most amazing ice cream! I love the cotton candy ice cream by itself. The cheesecake fantasy and strawberry blonde are also amazing! Very nice and fast staff. Only down side is there usually is a long line since it's so yummy

Typical cold stone ice cream, Which is usually an easy 3-4 stars in and of itself, Though this location needs some help as far as staff goes. I simply asked for extra something and i received less than i typically would if i wouldn't have asked for extra. The other issue is maybe the workers should smile and be a little bit happier as the people were rude, Even though i was on a trip to the Indianapolis,IN area but i don't ever plan on going back to this location.

I've had ice cream here a few times. I usually hit up soft serve, but I had a gift card to burn. Went on a weekday about 8pm - there were two dudes ahead of me (strange bachelor run for ice cream I guess). The girl working was friendly but obviously stressed out by the line of people. I didn't mind the wait, but was irritated that the coworker in the back room didn't come out to assist the poor girl. About 7 minutes later she was ready for my order. There was an advertisement for a s'mores concoction that sounded appetizing so I told her to make that. She was smashing the crap out of those toppings - by the time it got in my cup is was a blended, mushy, runny mess. It reminded me if something I'd do when I was like 8yrs old with vanilla ice cream and Hershey's chocolate sauce. Not pretty looking at all. OK - so I overlook the fugly presentation and start diving into my treat. Way too much chocolate and no marshmallow what-so-ever. It tasted like it looked, a hot mess of ice cream and chocolate with a few bits of graham cracker as an after thought. I've had decent treats from Cold Stone but this was the pits. I was bummed I had remaining gift card balance - guess ill burn the rest at a different location. Avoid this place.

I special ordered a birthday cake with inscription. I arrived at the appointed time to pick it up only to see my name being scraped off and another name be inscribed. The man in front of me was sold my cake. The store offered no discount on a "rack" cake. My birthday party was ruined.
