Just had delivery less than 30 minutes, hot fresh, orange chicken combo w fried rice and egg roll, and small order of boneless bbq ribs, all for $15. Everything was good, fried rice was subpar, but so is every place in Indy..Came from Chicago, and Indy needs to learn how to make at least half way decent fried rice, it's honestly bad everywhere I have had it here. But other than that it was great.

China King's Crab Rangoon is delicious, along be with their General Soh's Chicken. However, their customer service is lacking immensely. Every time I call to order food, the woman taking my order is yelling across the phone and does not like taking orders with card numbers, and will not deliver for anything under $10... Even f your total is $9.98... So to absolve this problem, I stopped using my card and ordered with cash one day. And, of course, the delivery guy didn't have change! So my advice to ordering China King: either go get it yourself, or have EXACT change. And if Pookie is delivering your food, make sure it's all there before he leaves, because the 8 Crab Rangoon you got will probably be 6 when it ends up in your hands.

This place is not in the best spot in town but I didn't feel unsafe in there. They had a camera up front. The place is very clean. The food comes in very large portions. The "American Chinese" food was not bad but it was not the best. If you are craving chinese though it will hit the spot. I saw comments about staff being rude but they were wry hard working and nice. Order ahead because my friend and I waited forever for our food and there were literally 4 people who came after us for pickup and got their food before us.

Food is what you'd expect from a fast food type Chinese delivery restaurant. That being said, the orders are accurate, delivery is fast, and the food tastes fresher and of higher quality than you'd find at other Chinese delivery places. I definitely recommend this place if you need to get your Chinese food delivery kick. It's not as good as a sit down restaurant, but I have a hard time complaining. You definitely pay for what you get (In a good way).

I have been coming to this Chinese restaurant for literally ALL my life and I have never had such good Chinese food....fresh n fast at all times. I moved to Dallas two years ago and every time I come home I get something from here because I miss it so much and I haven't found a place like it yet! The lady who works there remembers what I want every time lol she is so nice and helpful! I haven't had anything here that wasn't delicious!

This is a great Chinese spot. Good menu, good portion size and really good quality. The customer service was great, it was quick and simple ordering as well as prompt delivery. Extra points for delivery! We live just down the street and are stoked to have a legit Chinese restaurant nearby. I will definitely be ordering again. Happy customer!

This visit gets ONE star, but I'm giving this place a three when incorporating previous experiences getting take-out from this spot. First, let me openly admit...I'm no Chinese-American dish expert. I only compare based on what I've had (and like any other internet user...what I've Googled)! Lol. Granted I just moved to IN from IL (maybe that had an impact?), when I have ordered a Chow Mein...it's usually a wok, hard stir-fried "noodle". I had a taste for these yummy noodles, and put in my order! To my disappointment, I received what I would call...a little bag of chips?? Lol. *I posted a picture of these "noodles."* If this is standard...fine. But, just posting the fair warning to those expecting to use a fork for their Chow Mein! I'll definitely stick with LoMein for my take out here. And who knows...maybe I wasn't having actual chow mein until now, and other take out places have been fooling me! Either way, I'm giving this place a three because I enjoy their Rangoons & it's prepared super quick. :)

Through exhaustive research, due diligence, and trial and error, I have searched for the best Chinese restaurant in Indianapolis. I have created an algorithm that calculates the "best" by adding together taste, affordability, location, portion size in relation to cost, and customer service. After going through the numbers and calculating the score of China King, I can say with little reservation that China King on 38th is my hands down favorite. Ok, that was a lie. I hate math. But I loveeeeee me some China King. I have been here numerous times and tasted several of their dishes, and I have yet to leave disappointed. Everything is ready within "10 minute," and comes in fantastic portions. My favorite thing to order is their boneless spare ribs. Let me tell you, if you were able to package Michael Jackson in his prime, compliment it with some fried rice and serve it with a fortune cookie, that is the equivalent to their boneless spare ribs. It is the Michael Jackson of Chinese Food entrees! It's like the food (through it's smell/taste) is singing "I'm Bad!" (Editors Note: Good-Bad/Not Bad-Bad) If that example wasn't strong enough for you, if Indianapolis ever enacts the "Too Sexy for Your Own Good" law, and I am convicted and sentenced to death (apparently if you're convicted it is punishable by death), my last meal would be the boneless spare ribs platter. No exaggeration, I would face death with a smile and a full stomach. Now don't get me wrong, in terms of quality, I am sure that there are "better" Chinese restaurants in Indianapolis. But if you're looking for something quick, filling, DELICIOUS, and CHEAP, it doesn't get any better than China King!

This place is a pretty standard (American) Chinese fast-food joint, standard red menu that can be found in dozens of strip centers. They get the standard stuff right, it is clean inside (worn out and old, but clean), they are open holiday's like Christmas and odd times like in near-blizzard conditions when other places are closed. There advantages to this place over others: the orders are correct, the portions are sizable. I've certainly picked this place due to the lack of decent Thai or mexican options in the area. Good "Chinese" is better than bad Thai or Mexican, IMO.

Okay, here's the caveat for my review. This place delivers to my house. NO ONE delivers to my house. With out that sweet little perk I would be reviewing at 3 stars. That being said, this is your standard strip mall Chinese. I have nothing against it. it's sorta comfort food to me, as growing up my mother did not cook, so carryout Chinese was a staple in our little household. The good...Grease, grease and grease. The lo mein is yummy in any meaty or meatless combo. The shrimp with lobster sauce is also tasty and the shrimp are huge and tender. I only wish they didn't supplemant the shrimp with fake crab. The crab rangoon are sweet and creamy. Also or import, they have NEVER screwed up my order. The bad...not the best location, parking is difficult and needless to say not in the swankiest of locales. Also, I ordered boneless spare ribs on our last delivery and it was literally like beef jerky, nearly unchewable. However, that was the first dish that I've ordered from them in over 2 years that I took issue with. Certainly not a place that you will drive across town to visit but if you're in the area and in need of greasy goodness this is your place!

My family has gone here for years and the reason is simple. The food is good and the price is right. I've lived on the west side my entire life and I can remember even 20 years ago our family ordering from China King and they never disappoint. Love them!

Chinese Cuisine

The popularity of Chinese food in America can be adjudicated by the appearance of China Town in many major cities in the United State of America. The popular trend of ordering or opting for Chinese take away food isn't unknown in America. Chinese take away food comes to rescue when you're too tired from work or too exhausted to cook. No one can resist the temptation of eating spicy noodles, shrimp, chicken, beef or pork cooked in the sweet and spicy sauce. The cooking method of authentic Chinese food is a lot different compared to what is served in America.

Generally, Chinese use dark meat small bones and organs to cook dishes but this changes when you are eating American-Chinese fusion food prepared using white boneless meat cooked with broccoli, carrots and onions. Back in China, the food is less spicy and oily as they favor steaming and braising method for cooking the most popular dishes. So, if you have a taste for authentic Chinese food, then try finding a real Chinese restaurant in the city. You can also try the most popular fusion Chinese food like Pecking Duck, Chicken Feet, Hot Pot, Shrimp Dumpling Soup, Mapo Tofu, Wontons, Chop Suey, Egg Rolls and not to forget Fortune Cookies.

There are not many restaurants in America serving authentic Chinese food. A little research on Restaurant Listings directory can help you locate the best Chinese restaurants in the city. Chinese cuisine is continuously evolving, and you can find a variety of dishes categorized as the food for lactose intolerant, gluten intolerant, vegan, vegetarian, and diabetic friendly. So, if you have a group of friends with different taste patterns, save the hassle and visit the nearest Chinese restaurant in your city.
