We often order Cheer King Star at work. They have a lot of food for cheap. The lunch specials are great- they come with soup, fried rice, and an entree. The fried rice is not anything amazing. It's sort of dry. The soup is salty but really good. We usually get the wonton soup. I like mei fun or cashew chicken. The crab rangoons are also good.

Went to Cheer King by a friends recommendation. I won't be back. Staff is rude and ignored me several times during me ordering my carry out. The fried rice is bright yellow and super bland. The sesame chicken was ok. The outside of the building looks as if they have been closed for years. There are better options in Indy.

Extremely rude on the phone and very short with me. Delivery guy could not find a simple address. Soggy General tsos with mediocre taste. I do not recommend this place at all

Sorry Cheer King you have lost my business. I found a competitor that has online ordering since you do not. The upside they do not suspend delivery at a whim. Your food is not bad, but this kid wants the ability to order online to cut out the possibility of order errors.

Not only did they deliver the world's soggiest and most disgusting General Tso's Chicken, but they completely screwed up my order and refused to do anything about it. We discussed over the phone that I wanted the smaller order wlthat came with fried rice and an egg roll along with a two liter. Instead, they delivered the larger order with white rice, no egg roll, and a can of Pepsi. They refused to do anything to fix it, stating that they'd have to talk to the owner, who had gone home. I was so hungry, that I decided to just eat my fortune cookie, but it was stale. STALE! I am reminding myself that I am a reasonable person and I can't go in and throw it at them. Even my dog won't touch this.

There is nothing better then driving hope and passing a take out chinese place. It's just the reassurance that if all fails in the kitchen you have a plan b. Well I have tried time and time again to give Cheer King another shot. I am a sucker for asian food and I really dont mind the dirty, sketchy, whats behind the counter resturants. Cheer king is the kind of place where you go after a full day of drinking beer on the patio. At that point taste does not matter. The first time I called in and told them i would be there to pick up my food. When I returned home I barely ate half of my General Tso's. I dont know how hard it is to mess up General Tso's but apparently it is. The second time I requested delivery ( I live 3 block away) and it took them an hour and a half to deliver. Then just the other night I ordered and picked up General Tso's thinking this time would be better. Low and behold I cut into one piece of chicken and it was just deep fried breading. I will probably fall into this senario again as I am such a fan of dirty Chinese food, but will be disappointed yet again.

Typical greasy spoon Chinese restaurant. The egg roll was super hot & crispy! Perfect! After the egg roll, the meal went downhill fast. Ordered the beef curry with pork fried rice. Was just "okay," if not disappointing. Meat was that soft/soggy style beef, rice was extra dry, and there was way too much onion. Guess they wanted to let the onion slices take up the bulk of the bowl's real estate instead of meat & carrots. Overall, it was fine. I wouldn't avoid this place in the future, but I won't seek it out either. Meh.

The delivery was free and fast and we got very large portions for a small amount of money and that is where the good comes to a complete halting stop. When I called to order, the teenager who answered the phone sounded like he was incredibly stoned and perturbed to leave his Marley music to take a petty "to-go" order via phone. He was also very hard to understand and was increasingly irritated when I asked him "huh??" multiple times. I understand there is a language barrier but I was very patient, and he could have been as well. Secondly, the food kind of sucked. I'm pretty sure that my spring egg rolls had cheese in the middle. Cheese. In a spring roll. Cheese!! Not to mention that it was partly frozen which meant that these were not freshly made, and you could definitely tell by the poor taste. The pepper steak tasted more like barbecued pork than it did steak and was so few in number that I should have just ordered onions and peppers, because that is exactly what I received and this is after I specifically asked for a "large" portion. The pork lo mein was the only decent part of the entire meal because the lo mein noodles were fantastic. They were soft and marinated in a nice soy sauce and came with plenty of pork. Humongous servings, cheap prices and free delivery are awesome if only the food isn't completely terrible. Sorry to say that we probably won't be back.

Pretty decent Chinese take out or free delivery! I've been in to pick up and wouldn't consider eating there. Not super polite on the phone but I think that's probably part of the charm.

LOVE living someplace where I can call a Chinese restaurant and have the food show up at my door less than 20 minutes later. This restaurant can turn a really long crazy crappy day right around when I get home late, am starving, and find there's no food...tada! Cheer King Star! The food is really cheap and you get a boat-load of it. It isn't the best by any means, but it's never tasted bad and we've never gotten sick (eaten it at least a dozen times in 10 months)...it's pretty darn good! Sometimes I even crave their rangoons, which are included free if your order is over a certain amount. The interior is decorated in old calendars featuring Chinese schoolgirls and sports cars, the temperature is never comfortable, and it's kinda stained/dirty looking. My advice? If you're weird about the aforementioned, always have the food delivered. Delivery kid is friendly and the food will arrive piping hot. I'm kind of torn as to my rating. Is there better Chinese food that I prefer in town? Definitely yes. But clearly the # of times I've ordered qualifies me as "a fan". And none of those other places will bring the food to me when I'm bra-less and barefoot at 8pm in January. 4 stars it is!

We called for delivery and were quoted a 45 minute turnaround. An hour and a half later the driver arrived. Our food was ice cold and the chicken fried rice we ordered actually contained undercooked, nearly raw chicken! Definitely won't be back.

Free delivery and cheap, decent Chinese. Don't plan on eating here - that's for sure.

The food is decent enough and the staff are always nice. If you have been to any greasy Chinese restaurant, you know what you are in for...My only complaint, no air conditioning. I know they probably don't want east side denizens hanging out inside but it gets ridiculous in here sometimes. I don't know how the cook stands it when it 95 degrees plus just in the dining room.

Great food, but not a good eat-in place.

Chinese Cuisine

The popularity of Chinese food in America can be adjudicated by the appearance of China Town in many major cities in the United State of America. The popular trend of ordering or opting for Chinese take away food isn't unknown in America. Chinese take away food comes to rescue when you're too tired from work or too exhausted to cook. No one can resist the temptation of eating spicy noodles, shrimp, chicken, beef or pork cooked in the sweet and spicy sauce. The cooking method of authentic Chinese food is a lot different compared to what is served in America.

Generally, Chinese use dark meat small bones and organs to cook dishes but this changes when you are eating American-Chinese fusion food prepared using white boneless meat cooked with broccoli, carrots and onions. Back in China, the food is less spicy and oily as they favor steaming and braising method for cooking the most popular dishes. So, if you have a taste for authentic Chinese food, then try finding a real Chinese restaurant in the city. You can also try the most popular fusion Chinese food like Pecking Duck, Chicken Feet, Hot Pot, Shrimp Dumpling Soup, Mapo Tofu, Wontons, Chop Suey, Egg Rolls and not to forget Fortune Cookies.

There are not many restaurants in America serving authentic Chinese food. A little research on Restaurant Listings directory can help you locate the best Chinese restaurants in the city. Chinese cuisine is continuously evolving, and you can find a variety of dishes categorized as the food for lactose intolerant, gluten intolerant, vegan, vegetarian, and diabetic friendly. So, if you have a group of friends with different taste patterns, save the hassle and visit the nearest Chinese restaurant in your city.
