I've been dining at various Seafood and Steakhouses for Devour Downtown, and this restaurant put on a better (regular menu) spread than the likes of McCormick's and Schmick's. Save yourself the hassle of downtown driving and paid parking, head here for a tastier Lobster with on par service.

Love this place, only reason they have 4 stars is the wait is typically lengthy without reservations and longer than expected with reservations. They are ALWAYS super busy and the waiting area is at the front entrance so bundle up if you plan on waiting. It feels congested and overly crowded but the food is excellent so it's worth the wait!

Bang Bang Shrimp was good. Fish tacos had a good mango salsa and their chips are good. My wife had the fish & chips. Fish was OK and the few fires she received were just so-so. Must be they are limiting the portion sizes based on the number of fries (chips) issued with the F & C. Service was nothing great..actually a bit inattentive. Seemed like all other tables were offered bread..but weren't so lucky. I was lucky enough to have my water glass refilled once....could have used more. All-in-all...a forgettable experience.

Went here for dinner with some friends. We started with the ceviche which was delightful and chunky, as it should be. I also had the winter cranberry martini to start and it was stellar. Loved it. I wanted another. As for entrees, I had the grouper with mango salsa. They served it with a spaghetti squash in honey and ginger and I chose their veggie medley as my second side. Everyhting was delicious and the fish was cooked perfectly. My date had a salmon special with spinach and cheese and something else. He practically moaned when he ate it. So I take that as a great sign. For dessert, we split the chocolate creme brulee and flourless chocolate brownie with the other couple. Both were out of this world. Oh, and the white chocolate martini was scrumptious. Heck yes.

Chilean Sea Bass is wonderfully prepared here, and you can't go wrong with any of the accompaniments. But I truly love the chowder. I think it's the best thing on the menu, and sometimes I just come in for a bowl and nothing else. The staff is very friendly, and I have never had any problems in the 10+ years that I've been coming.

Wife and I have been hear a couple of times. They never disappoint and we like that they change the menu. Love the bang bang shrimp. Nothing extraordinary happened which is the only reason why I didn't give them 5 stars.

i have eaten at many of the BoneFish locations and have never been disappointed. The food and people are what makes you come back. If you indy and you want some great seafood. Stop by. Visited September 2011

I think it's time to update! What is it about the bang bang shrimp? How is it possibly the best appetizer EVAH in Indy? How is it that a chain restaurant has perfected this choice so much nearly every table in the restaurant has to have one? How is it I think about it and crave it randomly? Awwww....love what they do at Bonefish! Our service this trip was hit/miss. We waited no time for drinks but nearly 20 for our "non-drink" server to stop by. CJ was great but distracted and very busy. It was a Saturday night, but it's one of those things ....where I don't want to have to track your ass down if I don't LOVE something or need to complain (I didn't....jus' sayin' as the redneck might mention). All in all, Bonefish is consistent, which is a big deal to me when dining someplace multiple times. My hubs and I try to come here every few months on a date night and since they are so few and far between, it's nice to know what we are going to get. This time, we were seated near the kitchen. The WHOLE restaurant is so loud it doesn't really matter, but it wasn't my favorite choice. ALWAYS make a reservation - even on a weeknight. I tried to randomly go for drinks and bang bang a few weeks ago on a Wednesday and the wait was over an hour even for the bar. CRAAAAAZAY. What recession? Seriously. There are always families here and there are always sports on, so this is not what I consider to be a great "romantic" place, but if you want somewhere with decent service, consistent tasting food and excellent bread, bang bang shrimp and awesome-sauce drinks, it's a good date choice! We always enjoy it. Two thumbs up, Bonefish. You do it again for me. YUMMO!

Well...uh...lets see. Seated promptly, Attractive dining room Friendly wait staff Good food Timely service Reasonable prices But why do I feel just, eh? Edamame to start, a nice salad, swordfish over pumpkin ravioli with a tomato zucchini ragout entree, key lime pie, a very yummy pinot grigio. The entree was OK. Others had a pumpkin creme brule which in my opinion was not creme brulee...more like pudding and without the best part- a carmelized top. I'd say this restaurant is steady, reliable and well founded with a national footprint so maybe that's it- bigger is usually not better in the restaurant world.

Crab cakes: good. Scallops and shrimp: good. Sea bass: good. Martinis...not so good. Weird timing on the second round of drinks (only arrived when we were about to leave). 5/5 for the food and 2/5 for the drinks/service, so 4/5 overall since I care more about the food.

What up world? I like Wednesdays. Sometimes, I like them better than I like Fridays. It's true, I'm an elitist like that. On Wednesdays at Bonefish they have a bunch of awesome stuff for five bucks. I like awesome stuff and I like things that cost five bucks. So I went, filled up on ceviche, ($5) bang bang shrimp ($5) and three cocktails. (what tails?) ($15) all shared with my awesome dinner date, and it was fun and inexpensive and i freaking liked it. i liked it a lot. Pro tip: If you're going with intentiions of chillin' like a mad villain on the $5 USD menu (available from 430-630) drinking won't help you. pretty soon crab cakes sound good and chowder sounds good and pineapple martinis sound good. So lay low on the booze if you have a plan and wanna stick to it. PEACE OUT!

This was my first time at Bonefish and I have a gripe. My daughter's dinner was a disappointment. The kid's menu said Mac 'n Cheese but what came out was Penne 'n Cheese. They need to either change the menu to say Penne 'n Cheese or change the pasta to actual macaroni. Otherwise, my shrimp and scallops and my husband's grouper were both excellent.

Just ate at Bonefish for the first time in awhile. The Bang Bang Shrimp app was delicious and came out promptly. We sat in the bar and our server was attentive and kept our drinks full and our table clear of extra/dirty glasses and plates. The major downfalls here came with my entree. I ordered the crab cakes, which tasted fine. However, when our server pulled the empty appetizer plate off the table she told us our entrees would be out shortly. It took them another 8-10 minutes to come out. Not horrible, but when the crab cakes came out, I was told the side of parmesan fries I ordered would be out shortly. What?? How did my friend's pasta dish and my crab cakes finish cooking before the fries? Also, I haven't ordered the parm fries before, but these fries looked like some cheap steak fries I could buy at Kroger in the frozen food section, with a minimal if any dusting of parmesan. Not what I expected from Bonefish. I ate maybe 4 and didn't touch the rest.

We went to this location yesterday around 4:30 with friends for an early dinner. It was a disaster ! They were out of three different items and when we questioned the manager he'd had no answers! They use some sort of team concept of servers and the bread person forgot our bread with our salad. I settled for their snapper/shrimp-- small portion of fish -- just average at best. The wrong sides were then served to three of our party of four. The broccoli that I ordered was uncooked. Yuk ! On the bright side , our server apologized and the manager comped our dinner. Still , not a pleasant experience. We have been regular customers , but not impressed with the remodel. New menu = higher prices ! Also, they have neither mahi or grouper anymore which seems strange for a seafood restaurant. They say it's because it's a sustainability issue , but seems to be tree hugger speak for "not high enuf profit item. " Kona Jack's is a far better option for fresh fish on the north side !

The fish and food was great. Tried to order an after dinner drink and the waitress stared at us saying they had no list and she didn't know of any. Said we would like time to think. She came back with the same blank stare. Didn't even think to go ask the bartender. Lost a good chunk of change on her bill!

The mother in law and I stopped in for her birthday. I wanted to take her out and I had a gift card. We make a good team because we both prefer small portions so we usually share especially at chain restaurants because the portions are so crazy. I have seriously made three meals out american sized portions before. We had the goat cheese chicken thing. Sorry I can't remember the name. It was fantastic! I ate the red potatoes and she had the chowder with the opening bread for her sides. She said the chowder was really good and the bread smelled wonderful. And by wonderful I mean I had a hard time telling myself how awful and gluten-y it looked. The chicken was nice and juicy and we had a lovely time talking and eating together. Atmosphere: Soft lighting and earth tones made it an intimate and comfortable place. Service: The waiter was super helpful and he even pointed out things that had gluten in them as soon as I mentioned I wanted to avoid it. He asked if I needed it cooked seperate but I said it was a sensitivity not an allergy or celiac and I was fine with normal fare. Super cool! GF: Normal chain standard on that. Not a ton of options but good enough and they do well to separate. V: Not a ton of options but again it is a chain so they have one or two things.

Not good it's a place that serves food with little or no taste! We both ordered the same sea bass and they were different his had black soot all over it and it was like water in your mouth. That was no bang in the bang bang shrimp!

Came here on New Years eve for dinner. I had a reservation for 7:15. We walked in the door right at 7:15 and there were people waiting everywhere. I was pleasantly surprised when were taken right to our table. On a busy night like New Years this is outstanding and worth 5 stars by itself. I had the grilled tilapia with mash potatoes which was excellent as always. My wife had rainbow trout which she liked. We also had bang bang shrimp app and creme brulee dessert. The service was friendly and efficient as always. And on a crazy night like New Years this also is much appreciated and not unnoticed. Bonefish Grill always comes through with a great dining experience. Bravo!

Be warned, the alcohol is expensive the food preparation was poor, and the service poor. The wine bottle cost 3x retail. Fish dry, pork chops over cooked. Service from 3 - 20-something bartenders was poor. When we told them we were done eating, they asked about our food. We told them that my wife's near entire plate and over half of my dry pork chops were not prepared well, they asked if we would like to go boxes. We won't be back, and if you are as disappointed as we were, please make sure to let others know.

The Swordfish with Pumpkin Ravioli was absolutely delicious as was the fried oyster appetizer. Margarita had just the right amount of kick to it. I remain highly impressed with both the food and the service of this restaurant. Kid friendly as well we dined with my 6 year old daughter and they brought her food out with our appetizer and then brought our entrees. Worked perfectly so my daughter got her food first and had plenty of time to work on it. Love the complimentary valet parking as well.

We ate here last weekend and had a good meal. The service was just average, the wait wasn't bad, and the food was great. I was a little suprised how few menu selections there were, but it's about quality, not quantity. The prices were what I expected for this type of place and they are fair. Overall we had a decent dinner and I would return.

Amber best service I've had in a long time: professional funny and extremely knowledgable! Thanks for making my brothers birthday special. Your whole presentation was professional performance of an award winning gold medal career server. You were fun, injected personality in all the right spots had a great sense of humor and took fantastic care of us! Thank you! The food was delicious I had the salmon it was off the charts!

I come here for the bang bang shrimp as it is this delicious morsel of shrimp in a very lightly fried batter and tossed in their spicy sauce. The sauce has a mayonnaise base layered with chili flakes but you can barely tell as the shrimp truly is the star. To my delightful surprise, all day wednesdays this bang bang shrimp appetizer is only $5! Normally over $7. Everyday they have drink specials and a special menu of the day. Our table ordered the lobster pomodore. It was a piece of mahi mahi over creamy mashed potatoes topped with lump crab and a lobster claw. As much as I love lobster, fish, and crab....this dish just didn't do it for me. I felt like the star of the dish was the summer squash on the side.shredded almost like hash browns yet steamed and natural.... Cooked and seasoned perfectly! Their seabass is consistently good. I wouldn't order the shrimp and fish ceviche again either. It came with tortilla chips and was just way too sour and didn't even taste like fresh good quality seafood should. Service was very good. We got a table okay but as we were leaving around 630pm, the place was packed with barely enough room to stand at the front! Parking lot was full even though we got there before the crowd. There is valet option too. You might want to make reservations for dinner! This place is not open for lunch!

Always a favorite of ours. We ate here yesterday and the food is consistently excellent. I love the Lilly's Chicken and for the price it's a great deal. I added the pumpkin ravioli which I had never had at the stuffing was great and it was topped with fried onions and sage. At times the food can be over seasoned and that is then only reason in would not give it 5 stars. The Bang Bang Shrimp is a must and we get this every time.

Okay, I've figured out the secret of Bonefish Grill, and I can say now that I'm very impressed. And now, I'm imparting the knowledge to you. Are you ready? APPETIZERS AND DRINKS ONLY, MY FRIENDS. Don't waste your time with the entrees. Sit in the bar, order yourself some ahi tuna (but tell 'em to take it easy with the sauce), some Bang-Bang Shrimp (still the best) and maybe a cup of corn chowder with lump crab (delicious!). Wash it down with a watermelon and cucumber-infused vodka martini, or perhaps a Bee's Knees (honey, lemon, gin and muddled basil). It's still expensive ($52 for two people) but totally worth it if you go the drinks-and-appetizer route.

Once, in conversation, I described Ruth's Chris as the starbucks of steakhouses. They're all over, and when you go to one, you know what you're going to get. Add Bonefish Grill to that list of restaurants. They're not quite everywhere the way Starbucks and Ruth's Chris are, but I know it's a chain (shocker, a chain in Indy). Now, when venturing to this particular restaurant, I was not very impressed with the menu. There isn't anything that sticks out, and yet it seems set up to appeal to as wide an audience as possible. I was going to order the Sea Bass, but there was a special that had a bit of creativity to it. The only problem, it was salmon. Now the dish itself was pretty good, but I'm not a big fan of salmon. I may have been won over had it been a great piece of salmon, but it wasn't. Now, had I been able to get Mahi or Tuna served in the same way, I would be extatic. With the exception of the fish, the meal was well prepared and everything that went with it was delicious.

Food is pretty good. Great lobster tail, bang bang shrimp, and sea bass. The corn chowder with crab and scalloped or augratin (can't remember) potatoes were so salty I couldn't really finish them. Service was good.

Definitely one of the places I CRAVE when I go back home to Indy. I can't get enough of their Bang Bang Shrimp and if you go on Wednesdays, its $5! Pair that with some of their amazing (the strength will sneak up on ya) cocktails and you're in for a good night. I really wish they were open for lunch. Better yet, I wish they would open in Texas...

Our gluten free dining experience at Bonefish was a fabulous display of meals presented to perfection. All the meals could have been featured in a gourmet magazine. The tastes were incredible and complimented either the chicken, tilapia or salmon entrees perfectly. The GF desserts were fabulous. The best appetizer we had was the Bonefish Saucy Shrimp. We had several entrees and it was hard to say which was the best but the Lily's Chicken and the Salmon Bacon Gorgonzola were a definite tie for first. Here's the blog about the entire meal experience and the entrees: glutenfreelivingnow.blog…

Absoluetly WONDERFUL !! Friend & I chose to go to BoneFish (due to their Gluten-Free menu) on Sun. Sept 9th for a mid-afternoon lunch. We sat in the bar so we could see the Colts game. Our server was Michael, and we hope Management realizes, Michael is FANTASTIC !! Not only was Michael properly attentive, polite & personable, but he knows the menu, and knows what to pair offers fantastic suggestions. Michael suggested the Saucy Shrimp appetizer (tomato cream sauce with roasted red tomato, kalamata olives & feta cheese) which is wonderful !! My friend took Michael's Pinot Grigio suggestion while I had the Watermelon Martini, Yumm!! I later ordered a wine also - the Evolution White suggested by Michael. We both selected the Chilean Sea Bass. Michael was very accommadating with my friends choice to substitute the Sea Bass in the Lily's Chicken selection which had an amazing sauce of artichoke, spinach & feta cheese..... so tender it all melted in your mouth !! I also selected Chilean Sea Bass with a wonderful sauce (forgot the name but a great suggestion from Michael) of creamy seasoned crab. Heavenly !! Michael unexpectedly brought us a wonderful little treat .... 2 giant marshmallows with one end dipped in chocolate ganache' and the other in a toasted ground coconut. Wonderful !! We cannot say enough great things about the food. But most importantly, our server Michael is the reason we're giving Bonefish 5 stars & the reason we will return !!

Boo. Received a fraudulent charge on my credit card for $300 from this place for a Muscular Dystrophy charity event that was held here. Just one problem - I'VE NEVER BEEN TO INDIANA! My credit card company is marking the charge as fraudulent and continuing to dispute the charge but they told me the merchant claims I made this donation at the event. Strange that this is the only fraudulent charge on my credit card, so something FISHY is definitely going on. Buyer beware.

Yelp comes handy during business trips. Bonefish Grill , specifically Bang Bang shrimp did not disappoint for $5 on Wednesdays. That with spinach salad @ Sunking Osaris beer hit the spot! I will definitely return - but be ready for the wait (quoted 45m on 6/13/12).

Bonefish is still one of our favorite seafood places, even if it's a chain. Here's why: It doesn't have a chain feel to it. The food is presented nicer than most restaurants, the service is good, the restaurant is pretty inside, and the fish is fresh and yummy every time. The Bang Bang shrimp appetizer and Key lime pie dessert are worth making the trip for alone. We've even been lucky enough to get free meal coupons in the mail that we've used. Can't beat that! For the price, which is so reasonable, Bonefish beats any of the more expensive spots any day ... just as good and cheaper!

I had my birthday dinner here with friends and family and everyone just about loved it. We had a party of 8 and the service was swift and the food came quickly. There was something on the menu for every one, and all of it is reasonably priced and good quality. We started out with the bang bang shrimp since most of the reviews raved about them. They were good, but heavy, maybe I'm just more simple minded and prefer a shrimp cocktail but everyone else loved it. Two people in our group ordered the shrimp diablo fettuccine which were very large portions, they could have very well shared the entree. I had the Ahi Tuna Tokyo style and liked it but next time I want to try the chilean sea bass. My mother enjoyed her side of pumpkin ravioli the most (a seasonal side). Everyone agreed that we should come back again and questioned why we haven't visited before. The Bonefish Grille alludes to an all seafood menu but I promise that theres options even for picky eaters.

  • Thuy T.

I love Bonefish Grill for two things...Bang Bang Shrimp and the Chilean Sea Bass(w/ the mango salsa)! Everything taste better deep fried and Bang Bang Shrimp is the perfect example, lightly battered shrimp tossed in a spicy mayo sauce over a bed of mixed green. If you have never tried the shrimp here before come out on Wednesday because it's $5 Bang Bang Shrimp ALL day. The grilled Chilean Sea Bass is consistently good...light, buttery, and moist. You have a variety of sauce to pair with your fish but I highly recommend the warm mango salsa. The other entrées at Bonefish is either a hit or a miss with me. Their daily specials can be very enticing but I usually end up wishing I'd order my usual instead. This location gets pretty busy during dinner time so you might want to make a reservation. You can always sit in the bar area, and if you are lucky there might be some booth available. If you are in the mood for a nice dinner without the hefty prices....Bonefish Grill is the way to go!

I had the parmesan pecan crusted trout and it was so tender and delicious I want more! The spicy Bang Bang Shrimp lives up to everyone else's reviews of it on Yelp. My companion had the Imperial Wolf Fish special and while good, it wasn't that special.

    (4)
  • Mark G.

Had me some wolf fish off their specials menu, had a creamed spinach sauce topped with lumped crab, and it was so good! This place has got some really good seafood. My next thing I wanna try is the bang bang shrimp, hear nothing but good stuff about it.

  • Meg M.

People rave about Bonefish's bang-bang shrimp. I get it every time I come here either as an appetizer or in the bang-bang tacos. Twice I have ordered the Fontina Porkchop with au gratin potatoes, and twice I have left feeling like I consumed a lethal amount of fat and calories. (Short memory, I guess.) The fontina chop comes loaded with prosciutto, mushrooms, marsala wine sauce, and of course, fontina cheese. The combination tastes good for the first few bites, but after that it's just too salty and too rich. It's overkill. If I came back, I'd try to avoid a heavy meal by ordering steamed or broiled fish with a side of veggies or a salad. I might also get the bang-bang tacos again. Even though they're fried and covered in a mayo-based sauce, the portion size is more reasonable. Bonefish is a little too pricey and indulgent for my taste, but it's a very nice restaurant. The atmosphere and service are above average.

The host was gone when we walked in, seated us in a huff, put us in the booth right next to the kitchen door, despite the rest of the restaurant being empty, served us lukewarm food, and got us both so sick we were vomiting for two days. NEVER going back. This is a chain restaurant that fails to be high class. Why am I unwrapping my own silverware? Where are the table coverings? Why is your food coming back out of my stomach 6 hours later? These are the little touches you have to plan for if you want to pass your self off as a high class establishment.

  • Smythe G.

My mate likes to dine out, isn't picky about food. however, some of us are perpetually in search for real "seafood" I just want truly fresh fish......crisp on the outside and flaky, tender on the inside. Not Oceanaire, nor Bonefish grill fit the bill.

I'm not sure why this place is receiving such a bad rep; however, I really like it. I understand some of the complaints, but overall, the place is still really good. As everyone has said, the Bang Bang Shrimp is what they are known for and definitely is a must if you are trying this restaurant out. I love their Florida Cobb Salad; the citrus herb vinaggraite makes the salad so fresh, light, and summery. It's perfect. I also really like the fresh mangos and avocadoes in the salad. The service here was amazing. I took my mom there for an early mother's day dinner, and it was jammed pack, but the server made sure our iced teas were never empty. Everyone was super friendly and attentive, and the manager even came by a couple of times to make sure things were going well. We had an enjoyable meal.

This is one of the best restaurants I have been to! The atmosphere is great, the price is reasonable and the service is impecable. They offer daily drink specials which is awesome. If you've never been, the Bang Bang shimp is a must. Sign up for the email list and you will get something in the mail for your birthday. I have been there in groups of 2 to 14 and and service was equally as good. Hope you enjoy it as much as we do!

Always liked bonefish restaurants. Good food. Come here when ever I want fish or seafood in general. They have a good selection of fish sea bass being my personal favorite. And 4-6 sauces. Along with a few other items on the menu. Portions are generous and prices are fair. If you want to have a new dinner with family or a nice date you can't go wrong with bonefish.

We've been here a few times and they are always busy. Expect to wait for a table. For a chain, service is always fair to descent. Prices are cheap for Indy. And the food is good for the price. The bang bang shrimp is awesome.

Haven't eaten any full meals here, only appetizers and drinks. Good wine selection, good Pinot Noir selections. The coconut shrimp is simply fabulous. Ambience in the bar is nice, dark and cozy. Wait staff always attentive and nice. A great after-work place.

My fiancé and I stopped by for a impromptu dinner (my first time) and we really enjoyed ourselves. It was a Thursday evening at 7pm. We waited about 15 min for a table. Fresh cocktails were appreciated - she thought the summer rum cooler was tasty and refreshing. A nice moderately quiet restaurant with nice decor. We had the bacon-wrapped scallops first - I wasn't that big of a fan. There was a mango-sauce on top that I eventually decided to scrape off because it was masking too much of the tasty scallop flavor. No matter - the Caprese Salad was nice, with HUGE tomatos. Complimentary bread was fresh and warm. Delish. For the main course, we shared the sea bass. Very buttery meat, tasty and light! A winner, and not a total killer on the wallet. Thanks!

Bonefish is a nice place and I enjoy my time there but it only deserves three stars. The reason I cannot give it a higher rating is the menu. The seared ahi tuna is amazing as is the bang bang shrimp. I order one of these, or both every time I am there. However, there is really nothing else worth ordering on the menu. I have tried to expand my options but I have always left disappointed. I think you will have a good experience here, just be sure to order wisely.

We went here on Thanksgiving Eve for a nice little family dinner. Having been to Bonefish a few times, I came to the same conclusion as always: good, but not great. My parents live around the corner from the restaurant, and consequently, find themselves dining here quite often. I think it's down from previous averages of about once a week, but they're still there enough to know some of the staff and to think of it as one of their favorite places. We always have good service when we're there and this was no exception. Our waiter was nice, asked questions about our holiday and seemed to genuinely care about our wellbeing. The food was pretty good, but not outstanding. The deal with Bonefish is that they have several fish/seafood options you can order and have covered in your choice of sauce. It seems to me that they're saying "we know you want to eat fish and that it's boring as hell, so let us cover it in your favorite, fat-filled flavor and ruin all the benefit of eating fish." OK, so that's a bit simplistic and doesn't account for the fact that some sauces are tasty, but why do scallops, tilapia, tuna, lobster, shrimp, swordfish and cod all need a butter sauce or "Pan-Asian Style" sauce? Don't get me wrong, it's fun to mix and match and sometimes you can find enjoyable options, but I just don't get it. Maybe I'm just being contrary or nit-picky, but if I want to be in charge of pairing flavors, I might as well cook myself. I want to go to a restaurant to try something new and be confident the pairing is good, not hope for the best. OK, enough mindless rambling. The bottom line is that Bonefish is pretty good, but neither revolutionary nor exciting. If you go, I hope you enjoy it. And look for my parents, they'll be the ones with a bottle of wine or two and something like four orders of Bang Bang Shrimp.

When visiting Indianapolis, we were looking for a good restaurant that could accommodate our gluten-free diet. When we found the Bonefish grill on line we were amazed that it was my brother in-laws favorite place. It was great to be in a place that not only had gluten-free options, it had a menu with many items we could eat. The bar was just hip enough, with great wine and the menu had many items labelled GF that were great. We ate lots of food, drank lots of good wine and were able to have a wonderful evening without worrying about allergy issues. I can hardly wait till they open a bonefish grill in San Diego!

Yeah. it's a chain, and it looks and feels like a chain, but the servers are friendly and attentive and the food is always good. Make a reservation!!

Any place that serve Chilean sea bass is on top of my list. They have 5-6 different sauces. I chose lime tomato garlic. Just a hint of garlic. Oh btw. Tell your girlfriends, wives to take it easy on the perfume. Too much would change the flavor of everything. Even if I am on the next table

Loved their bang bang shrimp and the bang bang shrimp tacos! Probably the best shrimp tacos we've had. The salmon with the pan Asian sauce was a bit bland. Their potatoes au gratin are perfection. For dessert we had the macadamia brownie. 2 fudge brownies with a raspberry sauce, topped with vanilla ice cream and nuts. It was big enough to share and it was pretty good. The brownie was got and fudgey so it complimented the ice cream well. Our server was slow. We had to ask for silverware and she never came back to give us more bread while we were waiting for our food. I will be back for the shrimp!

I am a very opinionated person. I do not like seafood, I do not like dark restaurants, and I do not like crazy music. So in that aspect this place failed. But trying to be optimistic since this is my wife's favorite restaurant I decided to review my meal only. Which was the sirloin with garlic mash and rice. It was great. Great cook on the steak, rice was bland ( but it's white rice it's supposed to be) and the garlic mash was well..... Garlicky. Overall the bread and pesto dip made it a great meal. Plus the very friendly service by Jordan helped make this an overall good experience. P.S. They say my pleasure like chik-fil-a that's a star right there!!

First time here. Had reservations for 7 p.m. For my wife's birthday. We should up 15 minutes prior and they sat us right away. I called the day before the let them know I would have flowers sent to them so they could bring the to the table to surprise my wife. Within 2 minutes of being seated, the manager brought the flowers over. Ok to the food. I tried the bang bang shrimp. Very good and I'd order it again. The sauce on it reminded me of the mofo mustard sauce from Scotty's Brewhouse. For my meal I had one of the specials, snapper with shrimp scampi, a side of rice and also ordered the truffle Mac and cheese. The fish was good and had a nice flavor. I felt the shrimp was just a little to mushy( for a lack of a better word) the truffle Mac and cheese was really good. Over all I left with a stuffed belly and couldn't even finish it all. My wife had the Coho salmon with spaghetti squash and whipped potatoes. She enjoyed her meal. Only reason for 4 stars instead of 6 is because I felt the food was good but I wasn't wowed. A nice touch from the server at the end of out meal was a box with a couple of chocolates in it for her birthday. Good for a normal weekly mean but I'd give the Oceanaire the notch.

I was drawn in with a 15% off coupon and the special for the day. I decided to be seated at a table and realized that the special is actually the same menu but shorten. I decided to go ahead and order the 3 lamb chop lollipops which are to be lightly caramelized for $12. However, the chops came out rare done. How was I to know that I must specific to cook the lamb chops? The waiter never asked me for my meat pinkness. Yes, I want my meat cook well done.

Oo boy don't go here without reservation. Even with reservation and before time arrival we couldn't be seated until after 20 mins of our booked time. The lobby is small and hence uber crowded. Once I was ushered in I got a good 2 person seat and a lovely server Kelly. Summary: Service - 5 Food - 4 Drink - 5 Ambience - 2 I ordered the following: Bang bang shrimp Tropic heat martini Grilled Branzino The bang bang shrimp was a little down under. It lacked the crispness and didn't have the usual spices. This is really why I gave the food a 4. The grilled branzino was outstanding and I would strongly recommend this special while it lasts. It's stuffed with various citrus slices which adds to the taste. The martini was also awesome with a hint of hot and spice. If I wasn't driving i would have gulped one or two more :). Kelleys service was awesome and I always felt well attended and served despite the rush. The ambience was too loud for me and because of the crowded wait I put a 2.

Thank goodness our large party had a reservation for dinner on Saturday night. It was really packed around 7 pm. We had a group of 8 and our waitress was really on top of everything. My main complaint is that the room felt a little claustrophobic with all of the tables really close together. As for the food, I had the bang bang shrimp appetizer and it was okay but I expected a bit more from it. The warm bread with oil was a nice touch. For my entree I had the chicken with spinach and goat cheese. It was cooked perfectly. I wasn't a fan of the snap peas though. I had the truffle mac and cheese as my side and I wouldn't recommend it. The mushroom taste was a little too strong for my liking. I have to admit their red sangria was really yummy.

There is a special place in my heart for Bonefish. Yes, I know it is a chain....but I love it. I think Bonefish really goes above and beyond each of the very many times I've been here. The Ahi Tuna Sashimi which is my go-to appetizer every time, is phenomenal. I dream about it. The Bang Bang Shrimp are of course a big hit, but that is no secret as they are often imitated at other restaurants. I nearly always get the Ceasar salad here which is great (make sure to ask for anchovies) The main course I alternate quite often and still have not figured out a favorite as I'm tied between a few. I did try the Kobe Burger this go around and thought it was very tasty. I don't think I'll get it again in comparison with the fish, but if you are in the mood for a burger, this one is perfectly great. If you have never been here because you simply avoid chains, take a chance on Bonefish, I bet you will not be disappointed.

We walked in at 8 pm on August 4th (Monday) to celebrate my hubby's birthday. The place was too dark & noisy. We waited for more than 45 minutes for our order to arrive. Their recommendations for the main course was a huge flop.We should have gone with our instinct. Food was under cooked & tasteless. Portion sizes were too small. Off all the items we ordered only bang bang shrimp was edible & worth the money. We regret shelling $50+ for this crappy food :-( We will never ever return.

The food is on. point. The seafood is definitely always delicious. If this were just w food review, I'd give 6 stars if I could. However, parking is a total headache, but they have valet parking if you want to avoid the stress and don't mind the added cost. I don't recommend sitting anywhere near the check-out machines, unless you like listening to loud wait staff curse (lots of f-bombs tonight) and moan about annoying customers. They're inconsistent on when you can/can't use coupons and what you can use them towards (but regardless, if you sign up for the emails, you will get coupons). I definitely recommend the creme brûlée - save room, it's worth the extra $7! The free bread and pesto are amazing, as are the mashed sweet potatoes. Anything non-seafood is disappointing (steak is dry, chicken has no flavor) but the scallops and shrimp are excellent. Don't expect a sweet hostess - I've never met one and I've been here several times. The wait staff is decent though.

I've never had a negative experience here. The staff is extremely friendly and attentive. Bonefish also has valet parking for the Keystone location. This Valentine's Day they had a $29 special for 2 salads, 2 entrees (lobster tail and filet), and chocolate creme brulee. It was amazing! Wednesdays Bang Bang Shrimp is half off. Also, they are trying to do small bites for the bar area. Nice cocktails and good snacks...sounds like a date!!

We have been here several times, but this most recent visit was subpar. It was like we are chasing that high quality service and food from prior visits. We were greeted by friendly and eager hostesses. They prep our table and got us seated pretty quick in the bar. The server passed our table a couple of times before greeting us and getting our drink order. My husband watched her watch my straw fall out the glass at a another table. When she drop off my drink, she completely ignored the fact my straw was missing. She seemed very occupied with the other tables around us, and less concerned with our experience. It took her several minutes to get our dinner order, after our soups were bought to the table. When we were finally asked for our order, the server tried to take the speciality Winter Lobster Fest menu. She told me I couldn't order the Steak Lobster Thermador from the menu, but still took my order for it. The lobster bisque was delicious as was my husband corn chowder with crab. My entrée was ok and my husband's bacon cheese was delicious. But I don't think we will be going back, because the service was not what it once was.

Sooo yummy! It was my first time here but from what I've heard, seen, smelled and tried, everything is delicious. Bang bang Shrimp is their signature appetizer and was great. Comes with 20-25 shrimp on a bed of lettuce. I had the Ahi Tuna Steak medium rare and tried all the sauces. Would recommend pan asian as it is the most tasty and flavorful, kind of like barbecue. The crab fried rice was savory and salty and strawberry shortcake was different than traditional shortcake but took the cake On your birthday they give you a free small box of chocolates! Overall a great experience with our waiter Jordan! Payed about $85 for 3 entrees, 1 appetizer, 1 premium side and 1 dessert.

If you're looking for a nice "date" place to take your significant other this is the place. Also, the food tastes so good. I highly recommend to order the "Bang bang Shrimp" for appetizer. All their fish is fresh. So it won't feel like you're biting on plastic!

Absolutely incredible. The Bang Bang Shrimp appetizer is something you'll tell your friends about. The shrimp tacos were equally impressive. My wife has the seared tuna bowl, which she said was amazing. I highly recommend this place. You'll love it. Great service too, and a very nice atmosphere.

My wife and I used to come here all the time but the quality of the establishment has become awful. We came here for New Years and ordered the 2 meals and desert for $90. We were given sirloin steaks instead of fillets because they ran out of fillets. When we spoke to the manager she kept denying the fact we were given sirloins. The following morning, I contacted the owner "Gabe" and spoke to him about our experience. He admitted that they had ran out of fillets and were serving sirloins instead and apologized for the lack of integrity his management displayed. In conclusion, you are better off spending your money at Ocean Prime or Seasons 52 over bonefish.

I honestly don't know what all the hype is about. Came here with my family because we had a gift card and we had some really high expectations. Entrees are pretty small for the price. Food was ok, but I've definitely had better. Service was good and the waitress explained the dishes when we had questions. Overall, I don't think I'll be coming back for the food.

Yum,Yum,Yum. Crab cakes are awesome. We go here at least once a week. Since its a fish place we stick to the fish but have tried everything and it's all good. While I never had a steak I can imagine they are good as everything else. Only unhappy item was calamari but they took it off the bill and offered something else.

Came here for lunch with a big group - first visit to the chain. The environment is really generic / seafood but service was very good and the food did not disappoint. The bang bang shrimp were good as advertised, even though I was surprised at the lettuce and salad type set-up (if that wasn't indicative, I'm not big on greens). Also enjoyed the fresh bread brought out to the table and then had the burger which was very good - only subtle letdown was that the "parmesan" fries had barely a hint of parmesan....if you're going to call them that you gotta go much bigger. Others in the group had only positives to say about their fish/salads. Overall I'd rather support local businesses over chains, but if going chain and a fan of seafood a very good option.

We just had a wonderful experience here! We made a reservation for 8:30, and we were immediately seated at a great booth. Our server was super professional from beginning to end, courteous and efficient and just really nice. All the portions were well balanced and seasoned just right, very tasty! Really enjoyed the bang bang shrimp appetizer, and the Ahi Tuna Streak entree was delicious. I should also note the atmosphere was lovely, great for a date! Bottom line - very much worth a visit!

We went to this place for dinner last night (with a reservation!!!) and it was just OK. I was pretty disappointed. The food TASTES good but, our service was really lacking. We got one drink refill and we didn't get any bread (it looked like others did, so I kind of wonder if our waitress forgot??). I almost asked but when she came for our drink refill I thought surely she would notice if we were supposed to get some. lol Then, she never came back until after our food came. I got the bang bang crispy shrimp tacos. Don't waste the money. They were half the size of their old soft tacos!!!! I was seriously still hungry afterwards. We went at lunchtime about 2 months ago and had an AMAZING meal. However, their fries were totally different then too. Seasoned and they gave us a big scoop. Last night, plain old fries and we only got a small handful. The po boy at lunch 2 moths ago was awesome but obviously they've changed their menu so who knows.

After coming here several times i've come to realize that the seafood here is fresh but expensive. I dig the Asian flavor infusion and the ambiance but don't think the price is worth it now. A nice place to go for a special occasion but they would get a lot more business if they lowered their prices.

I have no idea why I always get the fish tacos. I keep looking for something that comes even slightly close to Nick's Crispy in SF and I never, ever do. The ones at Bonefish are not bad, but a week later I can't really remember them. But I will say this - If there was a bathtub full of Bonefish's bang bang shrimp, I'd dive in and never surface. Those things are ridiculously delicious.

This place has a great menu and a great drink list. However the wait is usually long and part of the reason (having sat here for an hour waiting) is a complete lack of urgency to clear tables when customers leave. I watched one table just sit for easily 20 minutes while everyone walked past it. Need a better system or people who have some umph in their step. Finally got seated and a glass of wine...with foil from the bottle in the glass. Didn't send it back because it would take too long. Fished out with chopsticks.

They host our company holiday dinner each year and do a stellar job of it. I'd say avoid the lobster. It's pretty terrible and rubbery, but everything else is really very good.

The food is always amaZing, especially the grilled halibut and Florida grouper! Love the bang bang shrimp too. The only downside is it's always busy and you usually have to wait for a seat.

Always a nice time! Ambience is great. Valets, caring wait staff. Yummy flavorful bang bang shrimp and on Wednesday nites in the bar area it's only $6! If you join their Bday club you get sent coupons often!! Absolutely the best hidden gem around!

We made reservations and specifically asked for a table, not a booth. Upon arriving, we were seated...at a booth. We told the hostess we specifically asked for a table. She went back to the stand and left us sitting at the booth. She came back and said, "Oh yeah...we had it in our notes. There's no tables open right now...but one should open up in 10-15 minutes or so." So, we went back to the lobby and waited about 15 minutes for a table to open up. After finally being seated at our table, the waiter took our drink orders. I ordered lemonade. NEVER order lemonade....unless you like waiting for your drink. They say it is fresh squeezed lemonade...apparently they had to go out back and hand pick the lemons. I had to wait 15-20 minutes for my drink. Seriously. Everyone else had their drink, and I believe our appetizers even arrived before I got my lemonade. Also, there are not free refills for lemonade. It did not state this on the menu and the waiter did not inform me of this either. He just asked, "Would you like a refill?" I said "Yes." Then, when the bill came, I was charged for an additional lemonade. Actually, I had 2 refills....so I paid almost $10 for lemonade. Ridiculous for that horrible/slow service. Then comes the food. I am not a big seafood person. We were all there for my sisters b'day....I went with the fish and chips...something safe. VERY disappointing. The fish was soggy and flavorless and the chips (fries) were very limited in number. I think I counted 12 fries. I was shocked at how small the serving of fries were....since the prices were higher than average. Overall, this was a bad experience from them messing up our reservations to waiting forever on my lemonade to bad tasting food with very small portions. This was my first time at Bonefish, and this will be my last.

The highly touted Bang Bang shrimp is pretty good but, from what I can tell, it's a variation of the very popular coconut shrimp, which is batter covered shrimp with some pretty rich sauce. I had a bowl of the corn chowder with chunks of crab. It was too salty and you really have to eat it with lots of bread to not drown in salt. I also had the Chilean Sea Bass with Pan Asian sauce. It was great, but Chilean Sea Bass is like bacon of the sea and is really impossible to screw up. If you gave a piece of Chilean Sea Bass to a drunk bonobo, you would get something that's very tasty. I think overall I agree with the reviewer who said Bonefish Grill drowns their food in strong, rich sauces. It's not horrible, but it's a cheap way to get to the lowest common denominator.

So Bonefish is a chain, but where else can you get a nice variety and quality seafood in the Midwest? Bonefish is by far one of my favorite Gluten Free friendly restaurants. Their GF menu has a nice selection to choose from; even a dessert option. The lobster is always my go to option. It always is perfectly cooked and not dried out. I love the little extra touches that they have when it comes to the butter. Nothing screams fancy than heating you butter over a tiny candle. One downside to Bonefish is their hours. They don't open until 4 pm. Sometimes all you want to do is have nice lobster lunch, and no Red Lobster is NOT even an option or comparable. Also, it can get busy at times and you can expect to wait, so I recommend making reservations. Now if they could make their Bang-Bang Shrimp Gluten Free, I would give them 5 stars.

Great food. We just got back from vacation today and I didn't want to cook (spoiled). So we ordered the mussels w/fresh bread to go like many times before. Sooo good! We've had many fresh fish dinners there and the bang-bang shrimp special on Wed. is a tasty appetizer. I have to say we tried brunch once, and it just didn't do it. I had Bloody Mary and the creamed corn & shrimp. The corn was nothing like what you'd think. It was a big dry caked corn thing w/little shrimp. -and really didn't like BM. Hubster had the crème Brule French toast which sounds luscious, but wasn't anything to write home about. I'd go for the fish anytime though. Salmon, sea bass, tilapia, even fish sandwich etc. Go for dinner on 82nd Street!
