I live extremely close to Binford Café and I was craving a cup of coffee so I thought I'd swing by and grab one to go. Little did I realize that Binford Café was more than just a coffee shop; it was a fully functioning restaurant with some of the nicest employees that I've ever met. They looked confused when I asked for just a coffee, followed by an "Are you sure you don't want any food?" This sparked my interest, so I sat down for a while and had one of the best breakfast burritos I've ever had. The breakfast burrito looked like it was made for a commercial. Finely tuned, well made, perfect detail--the food looked so wonderful I had to tell the cook right away. I was sitting at the counter and had a clear view of the kitchen, behind the counter, and the rest of the restaurant. It was perfect. The burrito consisted of eggs, cheese, bacon, salsa, avocado, and tomato, and came with orange slices on the side. I'm telling you, this burrito was picturesque. For only $4.25, this burrito was massive, and even made you feel slightly healthy from all the fresh ingredients! The coffee was wonderful, as well, and the lady behind the counter was more than attentive. I probably had three cups of coffee by the time I left. I was ready to take on the world. I'm looking forward to going back to this place to try their Eggs Benedict as they looked out of this world good. Easy to find with a great menu!

A great place for breakfast and lunch. Breakfast burrito is terrific and the homemade sausage is too. For lunch the tuna melt and BLT are very good and she always has some special that is very good. The daily soup is tomato dill and it is excellent and Friday she offers a fabulous lobster bisque. All in all: good food, good service, good price. A terrific value.

The best coffee and sausage patties that I've ever had. The owner makes the sausage fresh and it is amazing!!! I'm not sure what coffee they have but it is totally awesome! The Hungry Hoosier is the best thing to order because it is really a sampling of everything they have for breakfast. I absolutely love it and really like going here because it is really close to home. Crab or Lobster bisque on Friday afternoons is THE BOMB!!! I ordered it for a party one night and everyone raved over it. It is home made and totally excellent!!!

Read the reviews on yelp, so we decided to gove this place a try. Great breakfast! The potatos were a pleasant surprise, pancakes had great flavor, and my eggs were cooked perfectly. Will definitely go back!

This place is close to my house so I figured I would give it a shot. I went with my mom. She got an omelette and I ordered the half order biscuits and gravy and a pancake. I received a pancake and side of sausage due to a misunderstanding. They wound up packaging that meal for me and not charging me for it which earns bonus points for sure. My mom's omelette was packed with meat which was good. Besides that, there was nothing outstanding about it. My pancake was a step below bisquick. Their house syrup tastes like it has hints of molasses in it. I wasn't a fan. I've had better biscuits and gravy out of a Bob Evans box. The waffle was made of the same stuff as the pancake. It was chewy. Very disappointing. The sausage was great... I guess my point is, if you want a basic breakfast that tastes ok and you just can't find the energy to cook it yourself, this place is fine. There are much better restaurants around with better food but the service was great and it had a nice family run atmosphere.

Super nice staff, very basic food very basic menu. There wasn't very much to choose from, the biscuits n gravy was borderline awful. But the breakfast burrito was really good! I kept hearing a microwave going off the whole time I was there, that is no good!! I won't be going back again.

Unimpressive setting and decor, but obviously a local favorite. Many people knew each other. The food was fine. Not bad not great.

Just moved to Indy and a friend found this place on a "meet in the middle" website. Very quaint, but the food was good and was an overall enjoyable experience!

Old-school breakfast and lunch diner food. Love the neighborhood kinda feel, but it is a little off my beaten path. Was super-pumped for the biscuits and gravy, but feel like they were a little on the meh side. Hot sauce to the rescue, and if I give then 5 stars for anything it is for that! They have an ENORMOUS collection of hot sauces and well, in love. It's definitely an a-ok place, food was good, but nothing ground-breaking. Probably will go again.

Great place for a weekend breakfast. Binford Café has the small-town diner feel, while still serving quality food. Staff is friendly, portions are decent, and it's good breakfast food without being a grease-soaked mess. Their breakfast sausage is great, and tastes like what grandma used to get from the butcher shop and fry up at home. There are no pre-formed circular pucks here. Patties are crisp around the edges, and...wait for it.....TASTE LIKE REAL MEAT! I'm not talking about the mushy, 1/4" thick, over-processed crap you can get in the Big Breafast meal at McFatty's; this is real ground pork, seasoned and cooked like sausage should be. They also have a great, lightly cheesy hashbrown casserole. The highlight of the menu for me is the Country Benedict (a homemade biscuit, split in half, topped with scrambled eggs, two sausage patties, and just the right amount of sausage gravy). It's a tasty Hoosier spin on eggs benedict, and served with hashbrowns, is the perfect portion to send this guy home happy. For around $20, tip and soft drinks included, two people can leave feeling full and happy. There may be nothing on the menu that will blow you away, but if you're looking for simple food, done right, stop at Binford Café on Sunday morning, grab the newspaper when you walk in the door, and relax - breakfast is served.

A very pleasant find. I took my meal to go the day I went. I ordered an omelet that was very well prepared and a half order of pancakes. I was pleased with the meal and I will definitely go again when I am in the area for breakfast. the thing that stood out most to me with this meal was the side of tomato slices. What's so special about tomato slices you say? These were delicious. Not sure who they buy them from but they were super fresh, full of flavor, and were the richest red I've ever seen on a tomato. I'd honestly go back just for more of the tomato slices. This place is easy to miss, but if you find it and are wanting a good breakfast this place is a great choice.

Great little breakfast spot! We had the blueberry pancakes, cheese omelet, and breakfast burrito. Quick, all made from scratch!

They are not in the online Yellow Pages, and a reverse-lookup on their phone # doesn't show them. Fax # 317-466-9632. Address is essentially 64th and Binford Blvd (SR 37), on the West side of Binford, next to Morellis cleaners. Hours are: Tues - Friday: 6:00 am to 2:00pm Saturday: (Breakfast only) 8:00 am to 1:00 pm. Sunday: (Breakfast only) 8:00 am to 2:00 pm. Monday: closed. It's super clean. I mean it's little-old-granny-lady scrupulously clean and meticulously tidy, even the men's room. Specialty is breakfasts: omelettes, eggs, ham, bacon, waffles, pancakes, french toast, biscuits, gravy, bagels. But I had the Monte Cristo lunch special. EXCELLENT! Lunch specialty is deli american-style (club, BLT, turkey, ham, tuna, chicken salad, egg salad) sandwiches, wraps, and salads. Free wi-fi.

You've never eaten breakfast until you try their breakfast burrito. I have for 4 years now tried to govern the number of times I eat it so I don't burn out on one of the joys of my week. It's the bomb x 10. It has a fried egg and some avocado and GREAT fresh cut salsa and a little bacon. Uh oh... I just started drooling again :-) The laid back setting with the free wi-fi makes it a good "escape to write" spot for me as well.

Yummy pancakes complete with smiley faces and hot syrup! Great coffee too. Sugar is in a pour canister which is always better than those pesky packets. Everything is made to order. Overall I'd say this is a pretty decent breakfast place.

Binford Cafe is a hidden gem as far as brunch goes. Its discreet location makes it very easy to miss--I had no idea it was there until I stopped in at the strip to try Black Diamond Barbecue. The Barbecue's large sign makes it stand out, but Binford Cafe is very nondescript, especially since it's usually closed. The cafe serves breakfast and lunch exclusively and is open til 2pm every day except Saturday when they close at 1pm and Monday when they aren't open at all. They only serve from their breakfast menu on the weekend. My boyfriend and I tried to check this place out on a Saturday but didn't get there until 1:30 and they were already closed, so we went back the next day. We got there around 11:30 and it was bustling but not overcrowded--we didn't have to wait for a seat even though the inside is tiny, with only a handful of tables and a small section of diner-style bar seating. We sat at the bar and were pleasantly greeted by the old man working the counter, who handed us folded paper menus and offered us coffee. The menu is small and straightforward, with all the breakfast necessities. I got the breakfast burrito, which has egg, bacon, cheese, tomato, avocado, and fresh salsa. It was delicious and the perfect size, served by itself with the option to upgrade to a "meal" by adding potatoes, tomatoes, or fresh fruit. I really appreciated that they didn't automatically tack on side dishes like most restaurants do, because the burrito was plenty and when I finished I felt pleasantly full rather than disgustingly stuffed like I usually do after dining out for breakfast. My boyfriend got French toast and was satisfied with it, too. The interior of the restaurant is extremely simplistic to the point of almost being a little drab. I appreciated the lack of decor, though, because really, what's the point? There is some tacky artwork hanging behind the counter, but for the most part the walls are bare. I liked the atmosphere--a fairly typical "greasy spoon" feel, and you could tell that it's the kind of place that has a lot of regulars. When we went to the register to pay there was a glass bowl and a stack of paper slips with a sign that said "Enter to win a free lunch! Must redeem same week." The slips had no template and didn't ask for an email address or a phone number or anything, just your name, assuming you'll be back within the week to claim your prize. A marker board behind the register proclaimed simply: "This week's winner: Doug" The only criticism I really had about Binford Cafe was that they don't do a very good job of advertising their specials. They were written on a plain dry erase board near the door and on a simple sign in front of the cash register, but we didn't notice either until we were on our way out. I'm not sure if they change every day, but there was nothing on the menu to let us know to ask about the specials, and neither the guy behind the counter nor the waitress who took our order mentioned anything about them. I was bummed that I missed out on the Benedict Florentine that was today's special, but I guess it's just a good excuse to go back soon. If you live in the neighborhood, I definitely recommend Binford Cafe for a low key and very reasonably priced diner style breakfast.
