Bent Rail Brewery Menu

Sorry, We are updating this restaurant menu details.

Try the lamb tagine sandwich. It's an excellent and creative sandwhich. My son's pulled pork was also really tasty. A reviewer below complained that the beer cheese soup was watery. It was, in fact, quite thin -- more like a soup than a dip, but NOT watery, which implies a lack of flavor. It was very flavorful...just thin. Service was super friendly and very quick. They're still not brewing their own beer. However, the beer list they do have is good. This place needs some love, though -- it was basically empty at peak dinner time on a Wednesday. Come give it a try!

Did mom give you your lunch money? You're gonna need it when you get to this replica school cafeteria. The ambiance leaves something to be desired, but the beer and liquor selection seem to be adequate. The food doesn't look great, but it tastes ok. If you're super hamboned and want to play shuffleboard or beat your high score at Galaga.. Check it out. Otherwise mosey on up the road for a properly constructed bar and restaurant.

So much anticipation, waiting and watching the zoning, waiting some more... I'm here to tell you that it was totally worth the wait. This place is very cool and huge!! We did the Chow Down Midtown menu and the food was so tasty! Sandwiches made with really good ingredients = really yummy. The beer cheese soup was excellent too. They don't have their own beer yet, but they have great stuff on tap. I will certainly be back when their house brews are flowing!

This place has some serious potential, but still missing a few key components. Example A: Outdoor seating. When you're located directly on the Monon, you NEED outdoor seating. (Word on the street is that a patio is in the works -- hope it comes ASAP.) Example B: Ambiance. This place is so HUGE it feels empty. Would love to see a shuffle board court, darts or pool table to make this more of a hang-out brewery. Right now it feels empty. Example C: Sharable apps. I split the $5 soft pretzel - and it was just that - a mediocre soft pretzel. Overall, I think this place could be an awesome happy hour/ neighborhood hang out spot for me, but it still needs some work. Food is decent and well-priced.

You'll get no griping outta me about Bent Rail. From what I see & hear, I'm willing to wait till they get the legal mumbo jumbo straightened out and start brewing what I'm sure will be excellent beer. Until then, I'm happy to imbibe the great guest taps like Founders, Bell's, Dogfish Head, Sun King, Outliers, & Brugge. I'm thrilled to have a neighborhood hangout smartly positioned right on the Monon. I'm tickled pink with the veggie choices like the smash, the zesty roasted poblano torta, & especially the grilled cheese. I'm in love with the arugula salad that is huge & delicious, even at half size. I'm crazy about the warm & buttery pretzel with a side of beer cheese; plus the pickled eggs & veggies rock my world, so spicy good! I'm nuts about the oatmeal pecan cookies from 4 Birds Bakery & the ever changing dessert choices, like layered puddings in little jars. There's always plenty of people enjoying the large spacious interior, & I note lots of young families eating meals together. Artwork lines the walls, or you can make your own with the brown paper & crayons provided on the tables. Still bored? Try the pinball, Pac-man, or shuffleboard table. Plenty of parking, or ride your bike, skate, walk, trot, or canter down the Monon & check out the big bent rails stacked beside the trail, found during renovation. Speaking of which, I can't wait! for warmer weather to see how much fun we'll have out in the back. There's so much room to do so many things here. What a great destination to draw people to SoBro along the Monon.

The four stars is for the food...this is one of those that I wish I could give 3-1/2 stars. As others have mentioned the brewing equipment is sitting sadly unused at present and the atmosphere is somewhat reminiscent of a school cafeteria, but about that food... The Cuban sandwich was really good! Pork belly, ham and a great balance of cheese mustard and pickles on tasty bread; it was grilled to perfection! Others enjoyed grilled cheese, chicken salad and some of the entree salads. Everyone enjoyed the food! I opted for the side Caesar salad instead of the potato chips, and this was a good move. Some friends had the chips, and they didn't look like anything special, but the salad was really fresh and tasty! The croutons even seemed fresh, and the cheese was clearly freshly grated. There weren't any specials the night we were there which was too bad because it sounds like those are generally really amazing! In lieu of their own beer, they do have a fair selection of local and regional beers and the current offerings were a nice summer assortment. Service was OK, but honestly, they missed out on selling us more food! We sat in the restaurant area, not the bar area, and when we sat down, our server gave us menus (food and beer) and promptly asked us for our beer orders, but never returned to ask us if we wanted appetizers or other food. When she finally came back to ask us if we wanted more beer, we said that we'd like to order some food, and she seemed surprised, and then left to go get a note pad. We figured we'd best just order our sandwiches at this point. After we finished those she asked us if we wanted one or separate checks. Hmmmm...it wasn't anywhere near closing, and we had heard great things about the desserts, but we figured it was probably not worth the trouble to try to get another course. So, we paid our checks and headed out. No one was rude, they just seemed very tired and not very enthusiastic; not a good sign only 6 months or so in; here's hoping things take a turn for the better in the coming months!

I'm looking forward to this place really getting off the ground and brewing beer! Our experience was good during this "soft opening" phase, but the place does seem like it's a work in progress. They've got a good selection of guest beers for now and the food was actually really good. I tried the Cuban and gobbled that thing right up because it was just perfect. Plus the space is nice and big, so coming here with eight people like we did wasn't an issue at all. Our server was nice and the food came out very quickly. Overall, I'm really hoping this place continues to do well and that I can update my review to say that their beer is as good as everything else.

I came here for a friend's going away party and it's PERFECT for large groups. There is a ridiculous amount of space! The beer selection is alright, but it's the food and the space that really got me. I got the grilled cheese sandwich and it was heaven. It had lots of fancy stink cheese in it and I loved every bite. The service was alright, but then again we were a massive group, so I think they did the best they could do. I'd definitely like to come back.

Having read that they were not brewing yet kept me away for a while. And I am sorry that I stayed away so long. Now I have been twice and so happy to say that this place is great. The space is huge. On one of my visits there was a meet up for a bike ride going on with a whole lot of people but there was still plenty of room for more. I would be tempted to put up a wall and limit the space some but all in all I didn't feel at all uncomfortable. There is a shuffleboard game, pool table and even a throw back Pac Man machine. I really hat the blue guy in that game. The tables and chairs are roomy and comfortable. My first visit was on the return from a long bike ride on the Monon. (some bike parking would be a nice improvement). We were not interested in a big meal and were hoping for something small. We started with a Gazpacho (special dish for the day) and it was really super. And then, wow, were we happy when the charcuterie and cheese plate was brought to the table. It is server on a dark gray slate that just makes a great presentation. The Capocollo was phenomenal. The Capocollo was so good that I made it a point to visit again the very next weekend. I had the Italian sandwich and again the Capocollo was the star. The beer offering is craft and a wide range to provide beer for all tastes. If you haven't been to Bent Rail then I encourage you to visit and judge the place for yourself as I finally did.

I just ate at Bent Rail Brewery for the first time and I have to say, I was not impressed at all. Walking in, the place was almost empty, though they do have a wide open sitting area that can make a crowded room look empty. I noticed racks with dry wall and other building materials near the pool table sitting out in the open. We finally looked at the beer list and noticed that there wasn't a single beer on there from Bent Rail. Now they are a new brewery and were working on that part; but I feel like you usually brew the beer then open the restaurant. Either way, the beers they did have were an ok selection. I'd be interested in going back once they get their own beers in to try them. The food was subpar. We ordered a few starters, hummus and a few pretzels. The hummus tasted like is was just warmed up sabra with super toasted, super thin bread chips. And the beer cheese with the pretzels was really watery. I ordered the cuban and some others got the pulled pork sandwich and the pork belly sandwich (don't remember the name). If you go here, order the pork belly. It was the only food we got that tasted good. The cuban did not have much of a taste at all and the pulled pork was just ok. In the end, I have BRB two stars because of the pork belly sandwich and it wasn't the worst place I've been to. They have potential with that sandwich if they just make more stuff like that. Like I said earlier, I'm interested in trying there beer (once it's brewed)and seeing how the food change (if at all)in the coming months.

This one is to all the haters out there... Sorry to disappoint you if you think I'm about to ramble off some song lyrics. I'm not THAT creative. Actually, I'm updating my review because I've received a great deal of hate mail for loving Bent Rail so much. "Did they pay you to write that?" "Are you related to someone who works there?" Psh, I wish, because I probably would have access to awesome food more often. I get it. Bent Rail is not brewing their own beer yet. If you think you're frustrated by this fact, try being on the other side of the bar trying to explain that to customers 11 times a day. There is no doubt that it's disappointing that we're not guzzling some exceptional ales yet, and no one feels that more than the staff. However, I think what we're forgetting is that Bent Rail sells some quality beer from breweries at the local level and around the Midwest (i.e. Outliers, Sun King, Schafly, Dark Horse, Bloomington Brewing, Founder's). In addition, they've hosted two tappings of some exclusive Founder's beer (KBS, Devil Dancer). That effort to provide "the next best thing" and go the extra mile has to count for something. Best of all, they're pairing the beer on tap and in cans with some terrific sandwiches. Have you been lucky enough to gorge a Roast Beef Brisket with horseradish cream, caramelized onions, dijon aioli, and white cheddar? How about going into a food coma after demolishing a Pork Belly Banh Mi with Smoking Goose kitchen sausage, pickled daikon, carrots, garlic aioli, and jalapeños? Or perhaps you've sunk your teeth into the Tre Oche Panini, a pile of cured meats, house pickled vegetables, hot peppers, cambozola cheese, and garlic aioli pressed to perfection. Not to mention the daily specials that Travis surprises us with, whether it be fried catfish, mussels, gyros, or noodle bowls. I have yet to be disappointed with anything served to me, and I doubt that will change knowing who is behind the menu. So the road to Bent Rail has not been a smooth one. Welcome to the real world. I say we ride it out just a little bit longer and enjoy what's coming off the taps and panini maker until then. Besides, our patience will only bring great things aka superb craft beer.

I asked the waitress when the place opened because it seemed fairly new for as dead as it was (or at least felt) for a Friday night during Chow Down Midtown. Although the seats were pretty filled, it seemed to empty cause of the set up of the brewery. The decor and the vibe of the bar didn't match at all. Nothing worked well together, in terms of decor and the mood and the atmosphere. I was also surprised to find out they still didn't have any brews of their own, after 6 months of being opened. The actual brewery aside, the food was really good. I got the Hummus Smash and the salad. This is what my stars are going to. Overall, a brewery that needs to work a bit more on the atmosphere and its own brews and then I'll give it a higher rating.

While Bent Rail's in-house beers are not quite ready yet, they have a pretty good selection of local brews on tap. The food is pretty on-point. I enjoyed their Ham & Cheese, which is deceiving by name because everything about this typically inconspicuous sandwich is gourmet all the way. Bent Rail has a huge space for large groups and plenty of seating for families as well. I personally liked their comic-related artwork and pinball machine.

Two words: NOT READY I really REALLY want to like this place. Sure it is yet another brewery trying to make its way in Indy, but I'm willing to give any place with proximity to the Monon and a beer list a try. When I visited with a friend recently I was simply surprised that this place is open. It is not at all ready to be. This place has the feel of a restaurant that opened out of desperation. They don't have any of their own brews. Sure they have their brewing equipment up and waiting for the proper legal paperwork to start brewing, but they don't have anything of their own. Their bar boasts tons of taps, but only 5 beers were available. Happily all local, but the options were very limited. The ambiance is cold and sparse. It needs nearly twice the tables and chairs to fill the brewery. It reminds of that first house you move into where you only have enough furniture to fill half of it. The bar was made from a cheap laminate. Honestly, if you want people to enjoy your brewery there needs to be some serious money invested, and it seems like this place just doesn't have it. Now I could forgive bad ambiance, absent service and limited (and overpriced) menu if the beer was killer. No beer? No bueno. If I'm going to pay 12 bucks for a sammie, it better be washed down with an awesome local brew I can't get down the street at the Aristocrat for cheaper. This place has potential, and I'm hoping it lives up to it otherwise this place is going down faster than my $5.50 ales.

Fun new Brewery in the Rip. Very industrial looking, actually in a former warehouse. Not yet serving their own brews, but they have a selection of 5 local brews on tap. Food menu includes a fantastic pork belly reuben and meatball sub. They have a classic pin ball machine with the not-so-classic theme of the Pam Anderson movie, Barbed wire. Fun new spot.

My general summary: it's fine but there are way too many way better places in Broad Ripple. I have been to Bent Rail twice and neither time was stellar. The first time was right after they opened for business and there was still construction materials lying around (scaffolds, dry wall, etc). The food was fine, but not great. The second time was last night and there's still construction materials lying around! And while the food seems better, the customer service was lacking. My dinner was dumped on my lap (a total accident from a sweet waitress) but there was no attempt to "make it right". Even a free beer would've been a good gesture. Probably won't go back.

I was really excited to try this new brewery in SoBro, and now I'm equally as excited to watch it grow. Bent Rail is brand new but it has already garnered some serious attention. Unfortunately they aren't serving their own beer yet, but this will soon change. Regardless, they had a healthy selection of other local beers on tap this weekend. As everyone else has mentioned, the space is huge which really helps their options. We saw a private event going on Saturday night. It seems like a solid place to host a work party. The decor is developing... They have a lot of space to fill, but it's getting there. If you like fountain square brewery, this place might be your new go-to. They seemed similar to this beer drinker.

First Impression: Way too much space but still had an upbeat vibe. Bent Rail was only open for about a week when I ate there with my family. They definitely need more things to fill space on the floor because I felt like I was separated from everything. You could tell they recently opened because of this aspect in the restaurant and needed just something more to feel more cozy and welcome. I loved the aspect of the paper on the table in place of the tablecloth where you could draw with the crayons provided on the table. I had the Pork Belly Cuban sandwich which was so good! Filled with flavor and great to the last bite! Our server was very good and she seemed energetic about her job. There is a pool table in the place to play for free while you're waiting for your food and even though they were not selling their own brew of beer, they had the equipment in the restaurant for the brewing process. If they just figure out a good way to 'warm' the place up with more additions, they will have a great business going for them! I do recommend this eatery and I definitely would come back again!

I WANT to like this place...was so excited about a brewery in the neighborhood. It lacks ambiance and reminds me of a high school cafeteria. The food is mediocre at best - definitely doesn't stack up to all the other great SoBro options. I tried giving Bent Rail the benefit of the doubt and visited a second time, but was equally underwhelmed.

    (1)
  • Nancy W.

Food was ok, atmosphere was good, and it is always nice to find a place I can easily take my children. The food is good, but they definitely need more side options as your only choice is a small caesar or chips. My husband had a bahn mi and it was delicious! My ham and cheese was so so.

Great new local brewery in the SoBro neighborhood. It has plethora of gourmet sandwiches, craft beer, delectable sweets. Everything is local. Has a start-up vibe being located next to developer town and the speakeasy. It's brand new(opened on Monday) and from what the staff was telling they have a lot in store for the area. It doesn't have TVs from what I can tell and has a unique vibe compared to similar establishments nearby. I can't wait to visit back when it gets warmer and gets rolling with its ideas.

My review of today's lunch and drinks is a 2 out of 5, but a more accurate grade might be incomplete because Bent Rail is still under construction. They opened less than a month ago and they are still building their brewery. In fact, as I walked in, I tripped over a bolt sticking out of the floor that a construction worker was about to remove. After I tripped, he said, "Watch out for that bolt." Thanks for the tip, buddy. Bent Rail is a very large space for a brewery that serves food all day. There is a full bar with scattered tables and chairs throughout the brewery. It was pretty empty when I came in here for lunch. However, the space is large like Sun King Brewery and it is next to the Speak Easy - the office space for independent business people. Bent Rail has the potential to be a Starbucks-like midday spot for movers and shakers as well as a Sun King-like happy hour spot for drinkers....but we'll see what happens. But enough yapping - I ordered a roast beef brisket ($13 - great) and a Schlafly Kolsch ($4.50 - good price, but it was warm....gross). For the heck of it, I also got a hot pretzel w/beer cheese dip ($5 - not good; the beer cheese dip was watered down). The bartender did a terrific job. She was very kind. Based on my experience, I don't recommend Bent Rail, but it has the potential to be a cool "multi-purpose" location. To be continued...

Nothing special. Its a pretty huge space that was COMPLETELY empty! Its odd to be THE ONLY PEOPLE in a restaurant. Then add 12 bucks for a lackluster sandwich with stale chips. Yes, they have beer, oh right, SO DOES EVERY OTHER BREWERY. So if u live close and just want a beer, go. If u wanna eat, go anywhere else. I gave 2 stars just bc they had an pacman arcade game...

I had the Roasted Poblano Torta which was bright & flavorful, but the grilled bread it was served on had soggy edges & was soggy on the inside as well. Very disappointing for an $11 sandwich!

So far, so good. Checked this new brewery out last night for the first time. I have to say the space is huge, which will be great for events. Our waitress was super friendly and despite how new the place is, she had a good grasp of the beers on tap and the food options. I ordered a ham and cheese sandwich, it was my favorite ham and cheese I've ever had, the stone ground mustard and homemade pimento cheese were the deciding factors. My girlfriend had a hummus smash with no cheese and it was a great vegan option, which is important for us. Now, I'm just looking forward to them having their own beers up on the taps, I found that a little strange. However, everything was great and I'm holding out that 5th star for when I get to go in and try one of their beers. Glad to have another brewery in town, especially one that is within walking distance from my place!

This place was one of the biggest disappointments I have been to in a while. I decided to visit on a gorgeous Saturday afternoon to stop in for a beer on the trip back downtown. It's a little hard to find if you are coming from the Monon because there is a sign by the trail, but no signage on the side of the building which faces the trail. Their first huge negative is that a place which built a big business next to one of the busiest biking trail in Indy didn't think ahead to have one single place to park a bicycle. We had to take them inside with us and lean them against a wall because after doing a full lap around the outside of the building, we didn't see anywhere at all we could leave our bikes other then leaning it against the side of the building and hoping nobody took them. Even though it has been open for months now, it feels like they are still working on putting the place together, at least I hope so. There wasn't really any noticeable construction, but it just feels too incomplete to think this is what they are going to have. I felt like I was sitting in an empty mall food court or in an airport terminal late at night, but with everything spread out a lot more in attempt to use the space with what they have. It's pretty much just a big open room with zero atmosphere at all. It looks like there is a cafeteria serving station up against one wall, a bar with a couple TVs on another, another bar thing sitting by itself with no chairs or anything around it, and a scattering of tables and chairs. There looks to be a bar area and a restaurant area, separated by a short railing. It was very empty when I was there, but it is very apparent that if it was crowded this would be extremely loud with how much the giant open space echoes. They do have quite a few fun things to do, including a shuffleboard table, pool table, and a handful of other things including some arcade games. Another positive is they have all of the brewing area set up so it feels like it is part of the space, which will be neat if they ever start brewing since the process will be in full view of the patrons inside. Like I just said, this is another Indy microbrew that has been open for months now without actually brewing a drop of beer. I didn't realize that they still haven't gotten started when we decided to stop in, so you can imagine the disappointment. They, of course, are just blaming it on the process. Aside from being a brewery that doesn't brew any beer, their tap list was pretty disappointing when I came in. There were maybe 8 beers on their 10 taps, and nothing worth writing home about. The bartender was taking care of the entire place and did an ok job, but she kind of just seemed uninterested and maybe frustrated the whole time we were there, possibly because it was so empty. It's really annoying that they serve their beers in different sizes, but don't specify that. If it isn't in a pint glass, then you should say so before people order. That being said, they do have their prices set so that the price of a beer including tax works out to be a nice round number, which is something that I probably appreciate more than the average person. It looks like this place went out and got an actual brewer with some experience to do the beer side of things, so hopefully when they actually get that going they bring something unique to the table and don't end up like one of the other cookie-cutter microbreweries opening up every single week in Indy trying to take advantage of the recent craze with gastro pub food and crappy beer. Until then, I have no reason at all to come back here. They have a menu with food options, but there are too many places in Indy where I have a better selection of beer, wider variety of food options, and much better ambiance than this place.

Food was very good. The Cuban sandwich in particular was fabulous. 4 stars for the food..... On the other hand the atmosphere was just strange. The space is huge and seems unfinished. As far as their beers, they are unable to serve them until later this month due to some legal red tape. I look forward to trying them.

All around good entertainment. Pinball, arcade machine, and pool table. All in a family friendly environment plus it is a great place to have a small gathering of people. Entertainment can be brought.in . Food is great. I dont drink beer. I wont try to attest to their brews, but I didnt hear anyone complain

We held a large family gathering at Bent Rail and couldn't be happier with how things turned out. The staff were more than accommodating and flexible. Food and drinks were great and service was very impressive. We're so glad to have this addition to the neighborhood!

Wish I could like this place its right next to my house but their home beers were as non existent as their service. It feels like I am eating overpriced food at a gymnasium. I would recommend 0 stars if I could.

It's cold (impersonal), NOISY (bare conrete floors/walls/and a parabolic sound chamber for a ceiling), and it's just not ready to be open. Our server, blass her heart, couldn't seem to keep up, the beers (all Guest beers which isn't all bad) did flow freely.. What did I like? I like it's potential but for now it falls short of anything in the neighborhood. The menu was ok... I had a sliced meat dish (all spicey and salty) for about $18 bucks. I thought it was a bit pricey. Then we added an unimaginative salty pretzel for about $8 (or $5). Had to wipe the oil off of it (maybe fake butter). It did not taste that great. What did I not like? It's impersonal, cold, a sterile former warehouse, and the NOISE is incredible. There was a single party, perhaps 40 people with 15 kids around 10 to 12 years.... egads, their noises reverberated throughout the place. My last review was cancelled by the owner... YELP said it lacked substinative (sp?) content. I hope this one is better. My rating is based on the environment and experience I felt after walking out of Bent Rail... I was so happy to leave and go elsewhere. I don't think I'll be back.

Interesting space and great for pool, but I don't love the food. I've given it a good shot and tried 4 sandwiches, but their not for me and the appetizers are seemingly off from the rest of the menu. I truly want this place to do well, it's an awesome location and cool vibe. I hope their brewing works out too, that should be a real hit!

  • Aubree S.

I really wanted to love this...but I'm far from doing it. I live half a block away and frequent twenty tap and fat dans like its my job. Compared to these two restaurants, the quality, quantity and price doesn't even compare. What's not to love about another brewery and food establishment in the neighborhood!? Sadly disappointed when we received our meals. The menu sounds amazing but just doesn't deliver. You can get a pound of brisket for $8 at fat dans. A gorgeous burger for 11 at twenty tap PLUS homemade fries. Basically $13 for a grilled cheese and lays chips. Gross. The only reason why they receive two stars is for the mere fact that they could potentially have something good in the future....maybe? If not, they won't last til fall.

Just had my second experience here and it already looks like it is really coming together. :) Local art on the walls, a couple local beers on tap and more tables to fill out the space. I also spoke with the manager Cari about the sourcing of their food. It sounds like they are really going to make an effort to serve not only some local items, but responsibly-sourced food as well. It may be a while before they get their own brews, and all the kinks are worked out with this new place (same as any new restaurant), but it is worth checking out, especially if you live or work in the neighborhood.

Very excited to have another affordable, walkable restaurant option in my neighborhood! And, I'm so glad that they took an ugly, old abandoned building and gave it new life. I've visited twice now, and I think the sandwiches are delicious. I've tried the Pulled Pork, Roast Beef Brisket, and the Pork Belly Cuban. My first visit was opening night, and the service was what you would expect during the first day of operations. My second visit was yesterday, and the service was great. Can't wait until they get their own beer!

the sandwiches are really good. I've had two different ones and they were both really good and fast service. prices are just ok and they will be brewing their own beer soon and I'm looking forward to that.

I thought all of these less-than-stellar reviews might be based on the fact that they are not brewing beer as of yet--that was no concern of mine, since we were going there to dine only. However, after dining there this evening, I don't believe I would go back. I won't rehash everything that has already been said about the building size and such, all of that is true. But what got me was the price for a sandwich and standard out-of-the-bag kettle chips. I've gone to hot dog carts that tried harder to give you better chips (Zapp's or Dirty's to name a couple of brands). But ordinary chips as a side with a twelve dollar Sammy? Jeesh. Here's another example--it's August in the middle of tomato season, but you have to give us a mostly green tomato on the gourmet grilled cheese sandwich? Disappointing! While the sandwiches sounded creative on the menu, the three we tried failed to deliver. They were okay, but nothing to write home about. There were a couple of other things to question about this place, but I don't want to keep kicking what is clearly a tired horse that never made it out of the gate. Basically, I just won't go back.

Stopped in for a quick lunch. Had soup and and salad that was fantastic. Looking forward to the brewery starting up.

This place is the opposite of cozy. The atmosphere just feels cold and unfinished and is welcoming like a middle school cafeteria. BRB, if you're reading this, please do something to break up the space. It's just weird to eat and drink when the space is open 75 feet in 3 directions. On the other hand they have a nice collection of beer on tap. I had the pork belly Cuban which was delicious, warm and grilled. However they hit one of my pet peeves and don't try at all with their sides. The side was a handful of generic greasy potato chips. If you're charging $13 for a sandwich, a decent house made side is mandatory. Think salad, mac and cheese, potato salad, tater tots or something. Really anything but greasy potato chips out of a bag- that is just low rent and a complete lack of effort. I think I'll wait a few months and try it again to see if they've upped their game. As it is, it's just a shame that a place has potential but some major flaws that have been pointed out in these reviews over and over.

Sterile, boring. Bartender knows nothing. I live around the corner and I will keep walking.

Went to Bent Rail, we have been waiting in anticipation for this place to open, and were so excited to go check it out. The space is huge, but it's really empty. The whole vibe feels unfinished, but not in a cool industrial way, more like- they ran out of funds and cheaped out. The sandwiches were good, but they need to serve a side other than chips, especially for the prices they're commanding. They will eventually have their own beer, but when we were there they only had 5 beers on tap, 3 of which were sunking. I understand they aren't HopCat, but they need more than 5 draft options for the brewery loving crowd they hope to attract. We will come back, and hope that the patio area is cool in the warm months. I suggest that they get a different side dish option, and add some nicer features to the beer list. The bar area needs upgrades as well, the bar top is a cheap laminate, and the back wall is a boring drywall with the logo painted on. They need to step it up and do something more unique back there- something cool a-la Union 50. We'll be back, but the space needs work.
