Cheese Louise! It's hard to not love this place. With it's clever menu item names like "The Slaughter House Five" (famous book written by Indiana based author Kurt Vonnegut) and Cheese Louise, my quippy foodie self feels my sarcastic nature AND my stomach fulfilled. All pizza in general is delicious in it's own regard, but I have a special love for locally owned pizza joints. Especially when they focus on making quality pizza, not bogged down and encumbered by pretentious toppings. Don't get me wrong, I enjoy a goat cheese and white truffle pizza as much as the next person, but sometimes you just need straight up PIZZA. My high school was right down the street from this location, so I'm a little disappointed that they moved in a couple years AFTER I graduated. But I'm pleased that this Irvington original has made a location on the Southside! We were in desperate need of a Hoosier owned pizza parlor.

    The service can be slow sometimes, but they're usually nice and the pizza is great! We eat in or carry out about once a week. Lots of pizza choices, but they also have some sandwiches and salads. If you can't find a pizza on the menu to your liking (doubtful!), you can also make your own. My faves are So-Cal and Cheese Louise, but really, you can't go wrong. Love Jockamo! {I also love their radio commercials!}

i've been to Jockamo a few times and am always impressed with the quality of pizza. I read another Yelp! review about how the "staple/plain" pizzas - cheese, pepperoni, sausage, etc are nothing too commendable. This I can agree, they're ok. If you go to Jockamos, you MUST get a specialty pizza. I have gotten the Cheese Louise (parmesean, ricotta, cheddar, others, red onion and BACON) & a veggie pizza. The first thing out of my mouth for the CL - "I. love. cheese." 2 slices is my max due to how much stuff on every pizza. If you're looking for a nice small appetizer, go with the Health Nut Salad. The garlic dressing is not overpowering and all the veggies are fresh. Really this review is 4.5/5 due to service. The last time I was there it was busy & on a weekend so granted the server was a little overwhelmed. When I went this past weekend, it wasn't that busy and I felt like we were ignored by the (bearded hat) guy who was our server. He probably passed us 2-3 times before taking our food order. The guy who kept refilling my Diet Coke (thank you DC guy!) was more attentive and it wasn't even his area. Just a little disappointed our intended server kept disappearing and didn't really care for us. Wish we could've given our tip to him and not the BH guy.

Not your typical pizza experience. Be adventurous and try something new, you won't regret it. Easy to do eat-in or carry out. Great location.

This is the best pizza I've found in the Indianapolis area. That's not saying much but it really is pretty good. I love the Slaughterhouse Five. It would probably hold its own in a better pizza town like Bloomington. The beer selection is pretty reasonable. The location is horrible so plan on a special trip -- it's not near anything and it closes early for a pizza/bar type place. I can only imagine that the rent is free for them to be in a place that is completely invisibile from the street and has a parking lot that is full when the restaurant is about 25% full. As the other reviews mention, the service here leaves a lot to be desired. It ranges from surly to indifferent depending on the night. Don't expect anybody to stop by and ask if you need anything. If you order breadsticks, plan on them forgetting and an opportunity to witness the wait staff yelling at the kitchen about it.

Best pizza on the south side by far! They have a pretty crazy menu, but we love the cheese louise! It is a bit pricey, but definitely worth it. Oh, and did I mention they deliver? ;)

My wife and I ate here tonight for the first time, and their pizza has become our favorite!!! If you love pizza with loads of toppings, this place is for you because they definitely do not skimp! The pizza tasted as great as it smelled if not better! They have a wide variety of pizzas, and they also have bread sticks, salads, and sandwiches. The staff was very friendly and made us feel very welcome! So, if you're looking for great tasting pizza you've got to try this place out...it's outstanding!!!

Can I give it less than one star? Hands down worst pizza EVER. Cardboard with sauce would of been better. Do not go.

FAVORITE pizza in Indy. Dare I say, better than it's only true competition in the area (bazbeaux!). Really unique and flavorful combinations. My favorites are the Cheese Louise and the Thai Chicken. The thai chicken has a peanut sauce instead of a traditional red sauce, along with carrots and other thai-inspired veggies. The cheese louise is covered in bacon and riccota, obvs it is going to be a winner! Don't miss out on the health nut salad. A garlicky and healthy (other than the cream-filled dressing) appetizer choice, the health nut is a salad chock full of pine nuts, tomatoes, red onions, broccoli, and cucumber, all mixed together with Jockamo's homemade garlic dressing. The breadsticks are OK - the ONLY reason I order the extra carbs is to partake in the house creamy parmesan dip. It's heavenly. If you don't want breadsticks, buy a side of the creamy parmesan to dip your pizza crust in. Your taste buds will thank me.

Enjoyed a slice of Jockamo's cheese pizza at Wammfest in Greenwood this past weekend. I will definitely be stopping into their regular establishment to sample other toppings and choices from the menu, considering how good their simple, uncomplicated, plain cheese was!

My favourite pizza and within walking distance of my studio! I love this place. Service and food are always excellent. Pizza is great and I adore the hummus as well. I highly recommend!

Great pizza and good service.. Was kind of anticipating a lot more due to their raving reviews but overall I'd come back!

I love this place! The meatball pizza is amazing I'm always changing how they make it like fresh garlic instead of green pepper and fresh basil instead of red onion. Amazing

Easily the best pizza place on the south side. The slaughter house 5 and cheese Louise are delicious.

I went to Jockamo's in Irvington I gotta say it was just pizza. We all know you can top a pizza crust with ANYTHING! so I wasn't impressed what I was though after a mere 3 slices and a soda I was as sick as a dog! It was the topping not the crust on the Heidi Hernandez on one half, and a Maui on the other. My stomach rumbled and grumbled I was doubled over in pain! I eat pizza, not all the time but I seem to digest it just fine but I never felt like this. Well twice from eating at Ricks Boatyard I have fond memories of yuck-ness and this place. The crust was thin and really crunchy almost crumbly. The toppings didn't stand a chance. This won't be something I crave and gotta have! when you eat pizza you know it's not diet food so when you splurge, even if it's a only 3 small little pieces you want it to be SPECTACULAR! and this wasn't.

Decent pizza. Terrible service, rude servers.

We absolutely love the house salad (I substitute green olives for cucumber) and their pizza. We also l-o-v-e that they have half-price bottles of wine on Monday (we recommend the Morning Fog Chardonnay). We generally have good service at Jockamo's, but tonight one of their busser guys kept coming around and asking us if we wanted a box (for the remaining pizza)...EVEN THOUGH WE WERE STILL EATING IT. I finally tersely said, "How about when we're ready for a box, we ASK FOR ONE?" The clueless kid said, "Cool!," as if I hadn't just verbally smacked him around. We heard him pull the same stunt on 4 other tables, so this is either a quirk of his or he's been coached by management to rush people through. NOTE TO JOCKAMO'S MANAGEMENT: Train your kids better. This behavior is short-term thinking and is NOT good for business. Tainted an otherwise excellent meal, as all our others have been.

This is my most favourite pizza in Indiana, so far. The food is great, the atmosphere is wonderful and the beer list isn't shabby either! They use a lot of local products, too! My choice of pizza? The CALIENTE! Hands down! (Chorizo sausage from Smoking Goose (which I LOVE), fresh jalapeno, red onion, green pepper, cheddar cheese.) This is one hot and spicy pizza, not for the faint of heart!

I met my husband here one night after work and it was already busy. It's in an out-of-the-way location, but the signage is helpful. Obviously they have built a good business because it was already busy inside. Good thing my husband got there first and saved me a seat in the bar. The atmosphere is warm and cozy and t.v.'s in the bar that aren't too loud, but enough to watch the games or news. The pizzas are gourmet style, although getting a pepperoni or cheese pizza is completely possible. Their beer selections are tempting, so we'll return to try the other selections. Many salads are also available and so yummy! We'll be back to try more!

  • Jared T.

Excellent place to eat lunch or dinner. They aren't afraid to use plenty of sauce on the pizza.

  • Brian Q.

This is one of my favorite pizza joints in town. I haven't tried a wide variety of pizza but the slaughterhouse 5 is my favorite. Beer selection is good. Good wood fire pizza and certainly worth trying if you are tired of the usual chain stores.

Yummy Yummy. Jockamo Upper Crust Pizza has a large variety of pizza pies for any tastbuds. I recently tried the Mediterrean and was a little skeptical...I love hummus and I love pizza--but hummus on pizza? Boy, was I wrong! Oh, and their salad dressing is amazing!

You know the amazing pizza you had five years ago? From that place off the beaten path, in a completely obscure location you can never remember the name of? The kind of pizza that's so good, so mind blowing, it becomes your pizza "happy place?" Jackomo's is that pizza. It's the hometown pizza joint high school teams go to celebrate, a young couple goes on a third date --and this 30 year old went to get type 2 diabetes. I ate my f*cking weight in Jackamo's pizza. Along with my partner and our local Nap-town friend, we inhaled a 16" 1/2 Thai Chicken, 1/2 Pomodoro. Should you throw caloric-caution to the wind - absolutely go for the breadsticks. The sticks themselves are decent, but the dipping sauces take center stage. I had the creamy parmesean and their traditional sauce. Put. It. In. Your. Mouth! The tomato sauce here is perfection. It's got a bright oregano & tomato flavor with a very subtle, spicy finish. I have no idea what's in the Thai Chicken, but know this: we had a white-knuckle round of Rock, Scissors, Paper to determine the winner of the last piece. (I was not that person, which in hindsight - is for the best.)

Excellent pizza. Great experience. Woody was one of the best waiters I have ever had! If you go, ask if woody is working. He will keep your drinks full and has wonderful interactions with customers. When he waited on us, I asked him what was the biggest tip he had received that night. He asked me why I wanted to know, and I responded by doubling the biggest tip he had gotten. This guy is good and the pizza was great too. I do not personally know woody and I am not related to him so this is an unbiased opinion of mine.

Oh so good. My extended family and I met up here because we love pizza and wanted to try something new. I'd been to bazbeaux before and heard that this place had a similar philosophy so I picked the place. I also needed an environment at could accommodate my unpredictable toddler. The pizza was great and offered menu options for those that like to play it safe as well as offering something for people that are a little adventurous with their food. The staff was very friendly. The restrooms were very clean and the atmosphere was inviting with local art available for sale on the wall. This is a great example of local flare at delivers on quality and innovation. If you're willing to drive just a couple more minutes past Greenwood, you'll be well rewarded.

(Note: if I could I would give it a 3.5) In a selection that consists of your garden variety chain pizza places and (ugh) Bob's Tu Your Door, Jockamo's is a shining beacon of hope for local pizza needs. It's of course got higher prices but generally the quality makes up for that. If you're looking for thick chewy crusts or deep dish, look else where; lovely thin, crispy crusts here (the gluten-free crust is also good). The Slaughterhouse Five pizza and Cheese Louise are the best of any of their specialty pizzas and although the "weird" specialties they have are very creative, I've found they typically fall pretty flat (specifically the Creole and Shrimp Scampi). The breadsticks are incredibly soft and pair perfectly with the house parmesan sauce (so delicious! try it!).

If there is a better pizza on the Southside of the Indy metro area I'm not aware of it. have to get carry out from here at least once a month. The joint is always packed on the weekends so I'm not the only one that loves it. Their dough & sauces are always good & consistent & their ingredients are fresh & diverse. In my top 3 of pizza places in metro Indy & that's a very high recommendation indeed.

  • Carey D.

Delicious! Better yet, if you order delivery and they screw it up and take over an hour to get it to you, you'll get it for free! :)

Being the duchess & all I guess it is time for a review :) I adore the $5 lunch special!! Drink, slice, and salad!! That kicks Bazbeaux's ass!! The food speaks for itself, go and get a slice! The servers are all friendly and attentive. I enjoy coming here by myself and with friends. I hope Greenwood supports them, independent restaurants can have a tough time here. Keep up the good work!!

    Great local place for pizza.

  • T. J.

Just call me the duke! Why??? Because I'm an addict!!! I have to order more than one appitizer because I can't just settle for the AWESOME hummus plate because their breadsticks are as equally as AWESOME!!! I struggle to decide if I want a pizza or salad so I usually get both!!! Yes, BOTH I can't say "no" to either. The slaughter house Pizza is one of the best things to ever happen to a pizza house! Speaking of house, try that salad too! I afraid to get addict to a sandwich do I haven't gone there but my friends and family tell me they are "rock star" good! Check this place out and be prepared to get blown away! A+

I'm all Jacked up on Jockamo's Upper Crust PIZZA. Large variety of pies to choose from and even more micro brews. The Slaughterhouse 5 is an awesome combination of meats to satisfy the manly appetite, but don't stop there. Try a bit of the South with the Po Boy with shrimp or crawfish, or the traditional Margharita with fontina chz, zesty tomatoes, fresh basil and a bite of garlic. If you are in a pinch for some Mexican flair, dig your teeth into the Seven Layer pizza...it is like seven layer bean dip on pizza crust. If the Specialty pizzas don't hit the spot, get creative and make your own from a wide selection of fresh veggies, meats, cheeses, and sauces. You're bound to perfect your own combination and once you have it nailed...name it yourself. If pizza is not for you, then no worries! Jockamo has unique salads and sandwiches to choose from as well. Pizzas range from $10 on up with the average being $15 for a good sized medium that is enough for two to share. You won't leave disappointed with this South Side Hot Spot.

  • Ken W.

Tried six kinds of pizza, all were amazingly good. The menu offers pizza combinations that most folks never dreamed of, but should try. All the ingredients were fresh. And beneath all those toppings is a crust good enough to eat by itself. I live three and a half hours away, but am planning to go back to Jockamo's soon.

I've been a fan of Jockamo since they opened on the east side a few years ago and was happy to hear they were coming to my side of town. Unfortunately, we don't get to that part of Greenwood very often and I can be at that "other" pizza place on Mass Ave in the same amount of time it takes me to get here. That said, it is a nice option if we happen to be in the area. The pizza is solid and the topping selection is good. Honestly, is there anything that is not made better by putting smoked gouda on top? A milkshake? No, I think I'd like that too. My first ever experience at Jockamo was the Slaughterhouse Five and if you're a meat fan, this is the pie for you. The lunch specials are good. A slice of pizza, a side salad, and a soda for $5. Friday's slice was spinach and feta. Hell yeah.

    (4)
  • Chris K.

Ok, I guess. The crust was nothing to write home about, neither were the breadsticks. But as another reviewer said, its one of the best in Indy, but yeah, that's not saying much. The service was very good and I like the atmosphere. However, $9 for a glass of malbec was a bit much for a pizza joint, Probably will just continue to make the 45 minute drive down to Lennie's in Bloomington.

  • Matt H.

My family and I just finished eating dinner here tonight and we liked it very much. The bread sticks are tasty, my wife liked her Greek salad and the pizza was delicious. This place has a great laid back feel to it, a nice looking bar and the service was excellent. If you are ever in the Greenwood area, give this place a try!

  • John M.

Great to have a high-quality restaurant down on Indy's south side. If you are going for lunch, they'll have you in and out in no time thanks to their daily lunch special, but this place really shines when you have time to sit down and peruse their diverse and creative menu. Try some of the more unusual combinations, and they are sure to be a hit. Ingredients are locally sourced when possible, and Fresh-Local-Beer is available on tap from Sun King.

    (5)
  • Jennie W.

Great selection of micro brews and friendly service. I love the garlic parmesan dip and greek pizza! They also have a wonderful lunch special with salad and a large slice of pizza. All of their dessings are homemade and delicious!

  • A C.

Tried this place for the first time and was really disappointed. The service was poor and the food was just ok. The breadsticks tasted like they came from a box adn the parmesan dipping sauce was basically just mayonaise. The pizza was under cooked and the crust did not appear to have been freshly made.

    (1)
  • Matt S.

The best pizza I've had in Greenwood and one of the best in the Indy Metro area! I've only tried the Cheese Louise pizza but it was delicious. Oh and the breadsticks are good too. Two thumbs up! Update: I've tried the PoBoy recently and was blown away!

  • Donavon K.

Very good pizza. All different kinds. Have been there twice now. I liked it better the second time. Hope it continues to get better for me. Reasonably priced for what you get. Good meeting place for family and friends. Staff are really helpful both times I went. They won't let your drink go empty until you say you are done.

    (4)
  • Justin E.

A ridiculous amount of toppings to choose from, and all their specialty pizzas sound amazing. Craft beer on tap and an even better logo. I'll be in here everytime I've got people in from out-of-town.

    (5)
  • D H.

The pizza was great! We had a salad that was drenched in dressing, way too much , and when we ordered we asked for a small and were not informed that they only have one size. They took it off our bill. bread sticks were good with the parm cheese dipping sauce. Overall a good place to try.

  • Molly W.

Take this with a grain of salt (pun intended): My favorite pizza is still Arni's/Pizza King. Jockamo's was good, service was great, but it still isn't my favorite. But, if you're in the area, it's definitely worth a try (test out the Slaughterhouse Five).

    (3)
  • Beth W.

Wonderful pizza and staff! I've only been a few times, but it has always been wonderful! The staff are super friendly and not pushy. Love the pizza! Probably the best I've had in a long time.

    (5)
  • Ryan W.

This pizza is disgusting!! Tastes like it was made on a giant saltine cracker. We told the manager that the food was subpar and he said he'd take care of our bill. As soon as he walked away, the waitress brought it right back out! Staff was not personable at all and the manager was a joke!

Great Pizza. You can have eggplant on your pizza. I love the art! Great food and Great place.

    (5)
  • Meg M.

Excellent pizza! The interior is much nicer than I expected for a pizza place. They have lots of unique specialty pizzas here. I tried the Cheese Louise and it was delicious. I can't wait to try their Po' Boy and Creole pizzas! I will definitely be back!

    (4)
  • Dave O.

The pizza is ok. But the few times I've been in here the service was lacking. At lunch today, the server guy seemed inexperienced and slow. We've waited over 15 minutes just for the check. Not a wise strategy to make the lunch time crowd wait an unreasonable length of time for the check. Hopefully they will improve.

  • Randy B.

Great pizza with just about any ingredient you could ever want. My usual: chicken, bacon, 3-cheese blend, and Alfredo sauce. Decent beer selection as well.

Just average at best. Overpriced for what I got. Does not compare with Bazbaux or Gallaghers. Not even close.

    (3)
  • Eric W.

Fantastic pizza. I recommend the Thai peanut, but I don't think you're going to strike out on any type you order. Service was top notch as well.

  • Jason C.

This is by far the best Pizza in Greenwood. They load on the toppings which makes up for the slighly above average prices. I recommend dining in because the atmosphere is really cool. You know the place is good when there is a short wait even on a Wed night. It's not a small joint either. Most of the decor is fromn local artists and you can puchase it!

    (5)
  • Beth F.

This is by far my favorite pizza joint in the Indy area. The pizza is solid- real, gooey mozzarella cheese helps. Beer selection is great (anywhere with Sun King on tap gets extra points with me). I also can never resist getting a salad with one of their homemade dressings- they are all ridiculously good! I have never had anything but great service here. Once I even left a $10 tip for the busboy because he was so attentive! Definitely would recommend.

  • JR J.

The pizza here is really good, very unique options. Our favorite is the Cheese Louise, four types of cheese, bacon, and onion. Great flavors. We've also tried the BBQ chicken and the Po' Boy with crawfish. There is a nice beer selection and I would advise anyone in the Greenwood area to give it a chance.

I've been there multiple times and have never been disappointed. I've had the salads, sandwiches and the great pizza!

Came in for a quick lunch. Had some breadsticks with their awesome parmesan sauce. We also had the luau pizza. You could tell that they were using great ingredients. It was awesome. Very tasty!

Went here for the 1st time today for lunch with my family. The staff was excellent; very professional. The food was delicious. I had the italian beef and it was great! Tasted my husbands pizza and it was really good too. My 3 year old loved the peanut butter and jelly pizza. We will definately go back.

Have been to Jockamo in Greenwood Cheese Louise is AWESOME. Dining in was a great experience, nice friendly staff, and not very slow as far as getting your pizza to your table. Must also suggest the meatball sandwich. Four thumbs up, if I had four thumbs that is..:)

When I saw the sign for Jockamo next to a NAPA auto parts store, I didn't have particularly high hopes for my pizza. Much to my surprise, once I parked and went inside, the interior of the restaurant was actually pretty nice for a pizza joint. The excellent beer selection and gourmet options on the pies made me think that this would be a positive experience after all. And it was. Well, at least for a while. My girlfriend and I ordered a Heidi Hernandez specialty pizza, which is topped with chorizo, tomato, red onions and Swiss cheese. When it came out, I was a little surprised that they didn't blend the Swiss with Mozzarella, but it was a tasty pie nonetheless. Still, I have to gave the restaurant a 3 because it gave me and my girlfriend a stomachache afterwards. I'm not saying it was food poisoning-- and I'll probably give Jockamo a second chance-- but I hope for a better experience the second time around.

Pizza (Cuban) good, pork a little dry but the overall idea was good. Good crust. Great waitress. Downfall. Dirty, dirty, dirty. I think they might have had a big rush before, as we got there late in the afternoon. Only 3 tables, two with newbie babies and where do they sit my husband and I? Right next to the tables with kids and alongside the disgusting/overflowing dish tubs and dirty dishes. YUCK! Floor was littered with scraps and food. No one seemed overly ambitious to clean it or clear away the overflowing dirty dishes. It was so odd, because there were plenty of open tables, by the window and all. Spread it out, seat people where you can work and clear away stuff without being disruptive. I'm not from the area, driving thru, but was a cute part of town and I would try it again based n the menu and options.

  • Jason A.

I like the location on E Washington better but the pie is still the same. Ordered the health nut salad and a small slaughterhouse five, and margharita pizza split between three people. Health nut was great, slaughterhouse was ok (Vonnegut sucks) but the margharita was the better of the two. Service is competent, this place gets pretty busy on weekends, beer selection was adequate, if in the Greenwood area this is probably the best outside of Brozzinis over by Kroger off county line rd.

  • Scott E.

This place is wonderful! Since moving to the far west side from the south side I don't get by as often as I used to. So whenever we are near we simply have to stop. The staff is friendly and attentive, we usually see the owner. They have a pizza for almost any craving, several salads, many beers to choose from. Try the breadsticks and alfredo sauce, try absolutely any pizza on the menu and you will not be disappointed. They offer outdoor seating as well as indoor seating. There is a large dining room as well if you need to bring a large crowd.

    (5)
  • Lisa E.

As we happened to be on the South Side, this was a definite must. Since we moved away we have missed our regular excursion here. So many fantastic options for pizza- half the fun is seeing what everyone else is getting so you can try something new! I'm certain we have never had a bad experience or less than superb pizza of any type when visiting. Beer and Wine available. The staff is fabulous, very attentive. The location also has some outdoor seating. If you've not been there it's worth stopping in and trying.

Very good pizza, thick, full of flavor, cooked right, bit on the pricey side, but good stuff. Kitchen was a lil slow but overall everything was fine.

The pizza at Jockamo's is so good. You can't really go wrong with anything you choose, but I'm pretty partial to the Jockamo's special. Pesto, artichoke, tomato, cheese, and balsamic. It pretty much rocks my world. And I'm normally a pepperoni and bacon lover. The restaurant itself is clean and well cared for. And the staff is attentive and friendly. Plus they have Sun King beer. Which always makes me happy.

I've heard about this place ever since moving to Indiana so I was very excited to go last night (Saturday) First off...according to what one of the employees said, they've gotten a ton of free press lately so the place was PACKED! Thank goodness for all of the parking across the street!! We put our name in and weren't surprised to see we would be waiting about 30 minutes. Tons of people were standing around but it wasn't terrible and everyone seemed to be enjoying themselves. We go over to the bar to get some drinks while we wait and the selection is decent...lots of local micro brews :) The dining area was very well laid out in that plenty of people could be eating at any given time but there was plenty of space between people/tables. The place is packed but you can still have a nice time with your significant other or a group of people. The wait staff was busy as can be but still acted professional and friendly to everyone. We finally get seated and immediately order some breadsticks and our pizza. Not too much time passed before we get the breadsticks and wow were they good! Soft, hot and delicious. The homemade pizza sauce was perfect..thick and chunky with lots of flavor. The Parmesan sauce was very thick and indulgent. Our pizza was half cheese and half meat. I forget the actual names but basically all the cheeses they use thrown onto a single pie and ditto for the meat. The meat was awesome and very tasty! The cheese pizza was also very good..extremely rich though..not surprising lol. The huge chunks of ricotta made it extra indulgent. All in all..my expectations were met and I look forward to returning!

I was a recent first time visit to their Greenwood location. I had heard good things about their pizza, so i was looking forward to lunch. I had the 10" Slaughterhouse Five pizza and found out that everything people had said to me was true. This was one of the best pizzas I've had in a long time. I will definitely be returning to Jocamo's for dinner or lunch. The service was also very good and the restaurant was clean throughout and had plenty of room for seating and parking.

Love Jockamos! They have the best pesto ever! The pizza is really good I'm across as flavorful. They have an array of homemade dressing's that are good for dipping your crust in. Also, seasonally they have homemade Keylime pie which is just delicious. The only thing that I would change about Jockamos is the size of their pepperonis and their breadsticks. I think that with such an awesome crust (pizza crust) like that, that the breadstick should be just a little bit better. Some people might like a fat fluffy breadstick but to me it's too airy and not good for dipping in their fabulous sauces.

Do NOT order delivery from this location. I was promised a delivery in "45 minute to an hour" it took over an hour and a half for the driver to show up. And he forgot half the order and offered to not charge me for the part of the order he forgot. Wow! What a deal! Not charging me for the item he failed to deliver. Calling into the store the person who answered gave the excuse that the driver waited at another location for a half hour for the previous customer to answer the door. I have previously had the pizza and and thought it was just like all the other chains. Actually I'd say a couple chains are better. The crust was bland and the cheese barely melted. That was a couple years ago so I thought I'd give them another chance. Big mistake. Maybe the other locations have better management, but the Greenwood location is horrible.

This HAS to be one of my fave-o 'za hot spots in Indy. Whether you're at the Greenwood or the Irvington location, the grub is hard to beat. I love the relaxing feel that the awesomely chill staff greet you with, and be aware: you WILL need to order breadsticks to kick off your trip...just trust me here. This go around, we went for the Slaughterhouse Five as the men in the group were itchin' to get one of the heartier options, and let me tell you, it will blow you off your seat! The largest size fed all four of us with another whole meal size for two to take home. Don't forget to take a look into the kitchen when you're coming/going. How cool is it to watch someone making 'za right in the front of the house?? Don't let anything on the menu get you all worked up, the servers ALWAYS do a great job of explaining and recommending based on your tastes. So get your stretchy pants on and get ready to chow down on some perfectly pleasant pizza!

Love Jockamos and their tomato Gouda slice for their 5$ lunch special. Each week day is a different slice special. Greek pizza is awesome. Everyone I know loves their large meatballs pizza. Slaughterhouse five and roasted potato are also great! Can't go wrong with any of their specialties! Also has local artists work hanging in there. (I know as I've had my works in there before)

Why it's taken so long to try this place I have no idea. It's not because of the lack of good things I have heard... We opened with the hummus plate. It sounded so good but I was concerned how good it would be since we were in a place that was a far cry from Greek. It was actually pretty good. I would order it again. We ordered a half chicken pesto and half Jockamo special. Both were excellent! Can't wait to come back to try the other great choices!

It doesn't have the charm of the Irvington location, but if you live on the southside I'd frequent this spot. It has similar ambience and service as the Indy location and the same great pizza. Go for the Cheese Louise! Best pizza I've had in a while.

One of my favorite places to eat in the Indy area. I first was introduced to Jockamo a few years ago in Irvington. Now that I live in Greenwood I am happy there is one down here as I can get my fill whenever I want. The service is always great and the food is always excellent. It was refreshing to see the menu had changed and they can now do half and half pizzas on the larges. For some reason I always go have pizza with people who don't like the same as I do, so being able to do two different pizzas on one is fantastic. They do such an excellent job keeping toppings on your own side too. The breadsticks with creamy garlic parmesan is to die for. So delicious...it's the only sauce we ever pick and we normally get the 6 where you get two sauces. It's seriously that good! I feel that the prices are in line with other specialty local delicious pizza joints. I never compare a place like this to some chain like pizza hut. NOT the same....Jockamo is SOOOOOOOO much better. This location also has outdoor seating if you would prefer to sit outside on a nice day. The dinning room is very open and has tons of tables to accommodate large groups and the busy lunch & dinner rush. They do serve local beer if that is you thing. Sun King seems to be their top choice as it's advertised everywhere around the bar. Love this place, they make me happy, and honestly how can you not love a place that uses an ape as part of their logo?

Love this place! This was an impulse decision to go here last week. The service is good, the pizza better. The food has a flavor that will make you crave Jockamo's specifically and no other pizza will do. We were a party of 3 and ordered 2 small pizzas and the Italian Beef sandwich. All of the food was really good. Seasonal beers were available and tasted good. We felt indulgent and ordered dessert. This amazing hard chocolate coated ice cream came to the table and it tasted so good! This place is so much better than the national chains, give it a try!

Ok so this is not your normal pizza joint. Many different combos and ingredients to choose from. They use fresh and local ingredients. Our table always goes for the Philly Jack and Caliente pizzas. They each pack a ton of flavors. I'm not a fan of the crackery crust as I do like a little more chew to my dough but the flavors on top make up for the crust. Service can be hit or miss depending on how busy they are and sometimes it seems luck of the draw. They have a big beer selection and the wine selection is decent. Variety of salads, appetizers and desserts....this is an above average pizza experience. Never have been disappointed in anything I have ever had here. Greenwood needs more places like this!

Love their pizzas. They serve a great gluten free pizza that doesn't make you miss the classic crust! I've also enjoyed the beer selection and have enjoyed the variety they have. Plus, to go services are great.

This is the best pizza in Greenwood. You do not need to go any further than here. One of the few classic family style pizza restaurants.

I really really really really WANT to love Jockamo's. It's such a strange thing, to be known for pizza but I've only received mediocre service AND average pizza.. This review will be based purely on my recent carryout experience. I walked in and was politely greeted. While waiting on my order, another carryout came in and was even more delightfully greeted and was asked if she wanted anything to drink while waiting. I really hope it wasn't based on the day I was having, but honestly, I felt slightly offended that I wasn't shown the same hospitality that the next customer was shown... Minor details. Here goes for the pizza. We got the Shipwreck, the BBQ Chicken, and a Margherita.... BBQ Chicken was recommended by the person who answered my call earlier, and boy was it a tasty pizza! Lovely barbecue sauce and grilled chicken and onions.. I was in heaven! As for the other two... the Margherita was really plain and I felt like I didn't taste anything on it. Plain and simple. The shipwreck was a major disappointment. It advertises crap, shrimp and old bay seasoning, but I'm pretty sure they skimped on EVERYTHING.. I understood, they really can't put mounds of seafood on a pizza without overcharging more..but to have like 2 spritz of seasoning? It lacked flavor and was seriously the most bland pizza I've ever had... Really sad, but I really do prefer the Irvington location more, but living in Greenwood, I don't make it up there that often! Hope the quality & flavor gets better!!

I love their food! Nothing better than jockamo's pizza. Their breadsticks are unparalleled and their pizza is top notch. I give them three stars because the last few times I've been there for carry out I've been more than a little disappointed by the service. The front counter people have been very rude and disrespectful every time. Two were flirting with each other and gave me the wrong order, twice. I really want to return to this establishment but if the service doesn't improve, I may not return.

We came on a Sunday afternoon and had FANTASTIC service. Everyone was attentive and nice as can be. I wish I would have read reviews before our visit because I would have ordered a cheese Louise...I saw one on the next table and it looked GREAT. As for us we ordered three very different, but very yummy pies. Lazyboy, Thai chicken, and po boy. The only one I'd eat again is the lazyboy...I guess I don't like to stray too far from the classics. The star of the show for me was the stuffed pepper appetizer! Be sure to give them a try!

Jockamo is DAMN good pizza. You should eat it--often!! Ok, that's the short version... The longer version will tell you that these folks get it right, from crust to toppings and from service to price, this (and the original location in Irvington) is the best pizza in Indy. My personal favorite is the Slaughterhouse Five, with more meat than you can can imagine.

Horrible service. It felt like pulling teeth to get our order in. It was wrong when we got it, but we were so hungry we didn't complain. AWFUL SERVICE. No apology for slow service. Not even a recognition. I will not be back.

I have been here several times in the past couple of years and have always enjoyed it the pizza is terrific and they recently were named the best pizza in Indiana by thrillist.com . The restaurant ambiance is pretty basic but the food and service are great. They serve beer and wine and have a bar area. The lunch special is great, $5 for a big slice of pizza, a salad and a drink. Wow! Tuesday is 1/2 price bottles of wine day. They also have a bunch of different beers. This is our go-to place for pizza.

The radio ads for this Indy-area pizzeria are all over my favorite station, so I figured I'd stop in on a recent trip to town. Gotta say... I wasn't impressed. While the toppings on my Lasagne Pizza were all fine enough, the crust was drier than a popcorn fart and oh-so-tasteless. Add that to an unfortunate misunderstanding with the hostess, and a bus boy that kept pushing a leftover box on me (even though the joint was far from full during prime time on a Tuesday night), and I doubt I will be back. A mother and daughter duo sitting at the next table expressed the same.

Great food. Never had a bad experience. Salads are great too. Staff is pleasant. Atmosphere is busy and noisy, and tables are too close to one another, but other than that, I really can't complain. It's great for Greenwood's economy to have a decent and popular restaurant operating. It's also nice to see that particular space filled with a successful restaurant. That space had struggled for years with different restaurants coming and going. Let's hope Jockamos stays there unless they need a bigger space because they are so popular !

Love Love Loooooove Jockamo! While we don't mind driving to Irvington we love having the other location down in Greenwood if we happen to be out that way. Service is always friendly and we never have to wait for a table. Plenty of great pizzas to choose from, but our current favorites are the pesto chicken and the loaded potato (but get it with the Parmesan sauce instead of the standard potato to take it to a whole new level). Always a great selection of local beers to choose from along with a good range of other micros to accompany your pizza.

Love specialty pizzas AND great lunch menus. Jockamos has both of those in spades. The pizza is spectacular and caters to vegetarians, meat eaters, and gluten free people. Everyone can find something. Service is good, food comes out fast, I believe there is even beer (last time I went it was for work so I don't rightly remember). The wall decor is also pretty sweet. It's great for date nights or lunch breaks (only $5!). Always a good choice :)

would give a 5 stars for Food, but only 2 for SERVICE. Arrived approx 2pm on a Sunday afternoon; the place was 2/3 full it appeared. Got seated and then proceeded to wait forever just to get someone to take our drink order and appetizer (a Manager took them and disappeared). After 10-15 mins a waitress smiled at us and said she'd be by. We got our drinks, then waited at least another 10-15 minutes to ask another worker where our Hummus was. I joked I could go help in kitchen to scoop it up. Finally someone came by to take our pizza order and we got our hummus after about a 45 minute wait and our pizza shortly after 3pm. By this time the place had emptied out, so we had NO idea why everything was taking so long. We had a toddler with us, so that's why we chose a "quick" appetizer and drinks to keep her amused, but the time the food got there we were all about ready to leave. After letting the Manager know we weren't very happy with the wait, they did take off the price of the Hummus from our bill. And the Salads and the two pizzas we ordered were delicious (Jockamo Vegey special and the Thai Chicken). We DID end up with good leftover pizza. We would only go back to pick up TAKEOUT; call ahead, but don't think we would spend our time in this place again. I would say unless you have a lot of time to sit around, this is NOT the place to go.

We were there for Sunday lunch; not a lot of people. It looks like a pizza place probably should look. Or at least one of the versions; a little retro, very pleasant. As others point out they have a variety of special pizzas and you can build your own. We had the Heidi Hernandez followed by a piece of the carrot cake. Both were excellent. Service was good. We'll be back; we're looking forward to it.

I don't like to say this, but people should know. I went to Jockamo's Pizza last week for a to go pizza. (although I started to eat when I got into my car). The pizza was not fully cooked, the sauce was tasteless, the dough was awful. The mozzarella was chewy like old gum. Certainly not as advertizsed (best pizza in Indy? I don't think so). The entire pizza wasn't made properly. I am from New York and it is difficult to match the fabulous NYC pizza and I don't expect it to. But this was almost non edible.

Finally! I made it Jockamo's, and I think I have a new favorite pizza. They have a nice beer selection, great wait staff, and delicious pizza. Too often the meats on pizza are just too greasy, but not here. It seemed like all ingredients were quality. I also love very that you can do half and half on their speciality pizzas. This makes ordering super easy for my husband and me. Can't wait to try the Health Nut salad and BBQ chicken pizza!

Ok, pretty darn good! I had been to the location in Irvington, which I love, but never Greenwood. It was pretty crowded on a Saturday night around 7 - we were told the wait for two was at 25 minutes when we got there. First big win for Jockamo was when 15 minutes later we were seated. Love that! We got a health nut salad, breadsticks with creamy Parmesan sauce, and a creole pizza with crawfish. Pizza knocked it out of the park, as usual. Health nut salad was also a hit, with pine nuts, onion, and tomato - it would be amazing if it were summertime and the tomatoes were fresh. Parm sauce was mayo with parm and herbs. Swing and a miss there. They have a really good beer selection and service is phenomenal. It's a great place to go on a date or with a big family. Definitely recommend.

Went for a family dinner on a busy Saturday night. Excellent service and the food was very good. Started with breadsticks and both the cheese and pizza dipping sauce were tasty. The pizzas were good with a nice crisp crust and generous toppings. My favorite was the Slaughter House V but also liked the piece of the Caliente I tried. Our young nephew had the PB&J on pita!

Best pizza in town! My favorite is cheese Louise but last night a new one caught my eye- lasagna pizza and it did not disappoint. Don't overlook the salads either w/ their house made dressings. At my visit last night I would say about 90% of the staff on the floor were high school kids but ALL were very attentive- water never got low, our food was boxed up to go promptly, & they all wished us a good night or thanked us for coming in on our way out.

I would give this place 10 stars!!! Best pizza around. I'm so bummed I didn't check them out before this year. No other pizza in the area compares! The staff goes OUT OF THEIR WAY to serve customers! Staff deserves 10 stars too.

Lunch deal of salad and bread stick with sauce is a great deal. hummus had very good flavor. Health Nut Salad was VERY AMAZING and can not be easily replicated. the other lunch option is a HUGE slice of pizza which they always have cheese and pepperoni and one specialty option. LUNCH is the BEST deal : ) Funky names to match the yummy pizzas. local art on the walls.

Come to Jockamo for the specialty pizzas - if you're just getting pepperoni pizza you probably want to go elsewhere. This was a 4 star review when I started, but it became five as I wrote. My favorite is the Puttanesca. I know what you're thinking ... it's got anchovies! Don't be afraid. I had never in my life eaten a pizza with anchovies until Jockamo. Try it with a hoppy pale ale, like Dragonfly IPA. The puttanesca is a bit salty with the anchovies and olives and magic happens with a hoppy beer. On the weekends they have hangover pizzas - I like the farmhouse with sausage gravy, eggs, and chicken. The huevos rancheros pizza is also good stuff. Who thinks of these toppings? I would love to hear about crazy topping ideas they decided *not* to sell, They must have tried some crazy stuff. Another favorite is the philly jack with italian beef, green peppers, and peppadew peppers. I was not familiar with the peppadew. Peppadew looks about like a cherry tomato with some sweetness and a pleasant heat - not too hot. I love the hummus appetizer - I only wish it was an even larger portion. Great beer local selection. Many ingredients are sourced locally and the sources are cited. Some of the cajun ingredients are sourced from New Orleans.

Since my original post, I've been back to this restaurant many times and each time the service has been better and the pizza has been crazy delicious. I think the Cheese Louise is my favorite. Their pizza is arguably one of the best in the city. I'm considering the poor service I initially received as an aberration and upgrading Jockamo's to 5 stars.

I really enjoy the space. It is dark and when I first walk in it is like a fancy pizza cavern. I have only tried the Smoking Goose smoked chicken BBQ pizza and I will say that is addicting. The crust isn't my favorite, a bit boring. Generic. The flavorful zing of the toppings keep it real, though. That lovely smokiness from the chicken really comes through. Friendly enough staff but really I just go there to pick up the pie. Like I said, nice place to sit down it seems. Might have to try it one day.

This is definitely the best pizza in Greenwood. Always very tasty and there's a good selection of specialty pizzas. I've had one isolated service incident but the owners were quick to address it. All in all, it's excellent for the pizza alone. Everything I've tried has been absolutely delicious. They also hang local artwork on the walls which I'm a huge fan of. Highly recommended place.
