Very fun and casual atmosphere. Great food - you get a lot for your money! The quest isn't too spicy but tastes great, and I love the burritos and quesadillas. Great hot sauce bar if you're into it, and the cookie dough flautas are addicting.

Wow! Wish we had one of these in STL! Had dinner at Tijuana Flats when traveling for work. I had the chips and queso, cheese quesadillas, and cookie dough flautas. All were amazing. The queso cheese sauce was the best I've ever had, and the quesadillas were cooked with the sour cream inside the tortilla. I never would have thought to prepare a quesadilla that way, but it was so much better than the usual way. The flautas were original, and super rich. I could only eat one after all the other food I had. My entire order was only about $15, and there was so much more food than I expected that I had a lot left over. I was kind of expecting a restaurant where you sit down and order from a waiter/waitress (which I tend to prefer), but you order at a counter and they bring your food to your table. They do check on you periodically to ask if you need anything, so I thought leaving a 15% tip was reasonable. Overall, service was very good with friendly counter people, food that arrived quickly and hot, and employees circulating to check on diners. Please, someone open one of these in STL!!

This place is just okay. A little pricey considering it's similar to qdoba/chipotle. I definitely recommend getting the groupon if you plan to eat here.

Lots of options for people w food issues... Not my favorite salsa, it's bland. This keeps me from over-indulging in chips so it's a good thing for me. But everything else is fresh.

I had the tostada as it was one of the few items on the menu that included corn tortilla - my strong preference. It was good. I especially like the selection of hot sauces at the hot sauce bar and the fact that they list the ingredients for each. For example, many habañero sauces included carrots as a sweetener / thickening agent. I already knew this, but it was good to see on the posted placard. Service was friendly and fast. Plenty of people in there, so apparently repeat business is good. This is always a positive indicator. Lunch for 3 = $30 US.

Amazing food, the best chicken quesadilla ever, the only thing that needs some improvement is the customer service, they need a little bit of smile. For that reason they get 4 stars.

Such good food, generous portions, awesome interior!!! Everyone who works there is really friendly. The inside is so cute and bizarre with bumper stickers and innuendo everywhere you look. There are even a few patio chairs so you can eat outside if you like. They also have margaritas!!!!

Love this place for it's fresh ingredients. It is always expected that I will receive friendly service and delicious Mexican food. When compared to Qdoba or Chipotle this place surpasses them by miles. It is just as fast and a dollar or more cheaper on each menu item. The hot sauce bar is money!!! Always a fun experience when we want to eat something quick and inexpensive.

Great Mexican food! No longer going to going to the Red Habanero now that I found this place!

Great place for quality food served quickly with a smile. They have the best queso & fresh jalapeños. Eat there or take it to go; you have options...along with your choice of their signature hit sauce bar. We love this place!

One of my husband and I's frequent Mexican joints. Inexpensive, fast and tasty. I usually have a chicken chimichanga, hubby gets the massive burrito. It's nice you can pick a small, medium or massive size meal. Salsa bar is decent, although the spicier ones tend to just taste bitter. All around, good quick meal!

This was a very average restaurant that tasted exactly like Mexican that I can cook at home. I went on a Tuesday when they have their taco special and I got a drink, two tacos, chips and guac for under $8 which was an extremely fair price in my opinion. The service was AMAZING and is the only reason I gave it three stars instead of one. They had enough staff their to keep the customers happy and they walked around and refilled drinks when needed. I saw other peoples plates that did not get the tacos and it looked wonderful. I am feeling remorse for choosing the cheaper option. I received my food within 10 minutes of order it which was also a plus for a lunch break restaurant. I would give this restaurant one more shot before I mark it off my list of places to no longer go.

I love Tijuana Flats and visit here regularly when in the mood to grab something quick. I have had their steak, carnitas, and chicken, which have all been tasty. They use fresh ingredients, which is nice in comparison to ordering jalapenos and getting jarred/canned ones. When I want a decent, quick, and inexpensive meal, TJ Flats is always a good choice.

  • Pete F.

The service is great and the hot sauce bar is very tasty. Those are the only two things that I can say that were good about my visit. The side of cheese with my nachos still had the plastic rapper on it after it was heated up in the microwave.

Have always enjoyed Tijuana Flats as everything here tastes good and is fresh. However, for being a fast food mexican place, you can go to a sit down restaurant for just a couple bucks more. Believe they have also revamped their menu and cut out items as I had a difficult time ordering my regular chimi last time I was in.

Delicious! Whenever we flee downtown, which is rare, we hit up Tijuana Flats! This place is the bomb dot com. (Do people still use that phrase?) I always order enchiladas and my man gets the tacos. The sauce bar is awesome- we love the hot sweet chili sauce... A touch of fire with Asian flare. The service is good and the food is served fast- always busy unless you're like us and dine at 3pm on a game day Sunday. For two of us - 2 entrees two drinks and chips and salsa it's about $20 and we are wayyyyy too full!

Came here based on yelp reviews. I did not really like it neither did my husband. We went on a weekend, place was not very clean and we thought food was less than mediocre. Will not go back.

Ok so we bought a $40 groupon for two people for $29 and made the 45 minute drive to their location in Fishers. The place was empty and it looks horrible from the outside. The inside is definitely nicer but not by far. It was clean. You grab a menu and order at the counter and they bring it out to you. Since we had $40 to spend we got to try lots of things. So we started with the chips and dip, it is the yellow dip and we prefer the white dip but it was still decent. Fajitas are not on the menu but they do have them so we ordered steak and chicken and those were pretty good. I then ordered a steak bowl and it was good with the exception of something they season with I did not like and I cannot tell you what it was on but it was like a chili powder or some sort of rub. Probably in the beans or the rice. If that would have not been in my food I would have enjoyed it much better. I like how they squirt the sour cream on the entree instead of like most places they just put a big blob in the center. So I had sour cream with every bite of my food which was pleasant. The presentation of the bowls are beautiful, as I said aside from whatever seasoning they used on something it was wonderful. Since we still had a lot to spend we ordered two bowls to go one regular chicken and one blackened chicken, they looked beautiful but we have not eaten them yet so I cannot say. They have a big sauce bar there which we are not into, but it ranges from sweet to very hot and they label them with smiley and frowny faces to let you know how mild or hot. We did taste the two sweet sauces. both were ok but i would not have put them on my food. tasted similar to sauce you would get on sweet n sour chicken. They have Coke products. Gross!! But they did have sweet tea which was good. They have the shaved ice which I love!! All in all it was ok for a chain restaurant but I would not go out of my way to eat here. There just really is not any good Mexican food in Indiana so my expectations were not very high. The most critical comment I have for this place is their claim to fame of using only top quality ingredients and no lard and cooking everything fresh to order, I can tell you from my experience today this was not cooked to order and I question the top quality ingredients too. They have beer and even Sun King but as for anything else it is all premix like daiquiris.

It's a great taco joint. You want a couple of large tacos that come with a pile of chips then you will not be disappointed. They are fresh, tasty and service is fast. Large portions in a clean and fun environment. The burritos are tasty also but the size can feed a couple of people or one teen age boy. They have a wide selection of adult beverages, ice cold beer and wine. It's a standby for our family. Don't forget taco Tuesday for a special deal.

Blackened chicken tacos are the best. Mike Rowe is a great guy. Highly suggest going to this place. Been going there for four years and never yelp them. Taco sauce bar is the best.

Great choices and I love that I can make it as hot/sissy as I want on the sauces! I work nearby and they are very accommodating for that quick lunch break. They have 3 different sizes for each burrito and chimi and are able to make it how YOU want it. I appreciate not being locked in to the sauce they decide on. This is an order at the counter and they will bring the food to your table type place. Quick service and decent flavor. Will be returning in no time!

I love Tijuana Flats! I formerly lived in Florida & ate there at least twice a week (Their home base is Orlando). Now I only get to eat at the Fishers, IN location when I'm in town for a sporting event. Everything on the menu is made fresh, is delicious & priced right. My kids & I always order the appetizer w/the guacamole, salsa & cheese dip and they refill it for free - even the guacamole! I love their nacho-like tostados - best I've ever had anywhere. Their hot sauce bar is unlike any other but watch it on their hottest sauces because they are extremely HOT! The speed of their service is amazing - the appetizers come out before I've even found a seat. This is what good Mexican food should taste like!

LOVE this place, we live in westfield and we drive all the way to fishers just to eat their, i also love the painted tiles on the ceiling, and the hot sauce bar :) well worth the drive

Very good chimichanga! The service was very good. The staff aims to please. It was a very busy place for a Saturday. 3 games on 4 TVs. Order like fast food, but they bring out your food and clean up the trash. Not high end, but quality for the price!

My favorite taco/burrito chain in addition to Chipotle! So good for lunch, and it you go for Taco Tuesdays or Throwback Thursdaze it's an even better deal. They have a good selection of beer/ciders. It's a fun atmosphere with all the colorful murals. The hot sauce bar is fantastic, especially for a heat-seeker like myself! (Don't worry; they have mild flavors too.) If you like a sauce enough, you can buy a bottle to take home! I've always had great service there. Now I'm craving it!

Nice fun and friendly laid back atmosphere.. Love the hot sauce bar...they have 12 to choose from....and they seem to switch a few out each time I visit....always nice for someone who likes hot sauces The Medium burrito was BIG and tasty. the Noritto is awesome!!! Love this place Staff remembered me the second time I came.... I will be back.

Hot Sauce Bar. That is all you need to know. The best part about the hot sauce bar is that the flavors change so often. There are a handful of staples such as chicken shit and smack my ass but for the most part the spread rotates regularly. The taco salad is plentiful with a good mix of fresh ingredients served in a tortilla bowl. I love to dip pieces of the wheat tortilla shell into the Smack my Ass and Call me Sally sauce, pretty much taste bud bliss. Be careful, your digestive system might be harmed by the heat especially if you order jalapenos. Well worth the pain. The burritos and tacos leave something to be desired. You have to use the hot sauces or your food will taste bland. Still a four star place because it has fresh ingredients, plentiful portions, and a HOT SAUCE BAR!!!

We went on a Wednesday night- walked in at 9:20. Had a groupon that was expiring the next day so was wanting to use it. Thought open till 10 so assumed we were good. Ordered and then they asked if we were getting to go or eating in. One of the girls helping us said she would prefer we got to go since they closed at 9:30 and was then 9:35! The other girls was very nice and thanked us! So we love the food and appreciate them letting us order a whole meal right before closing!

Went there with a Groupon to try it out. Very good burito. The Adam bombs were so so...kind of miss the mark of hot...but the sauce bar is excellent... Deserves another try.

My friend took me here after raving about how great it was so granted I had pretty high expectations.... After I ordered the tacos I was thoroughly unimpressed. I could make the same meal at home and it would probably taste better. That is a really really bad sign because my cooking skills don't go that far past easy mac. I can't forget to mention the pretty long wait we had before our food finally came to our table. I wasn't that upset about waiting a while when I thought really good food was going to be served but then when it was not that great I wanted to say seriously right now all that wait for this?! One review I read said the food was forgettable and I couldn't agree more. I felt like the flavor had been sucked out of everything I tried. The only pro about the restaurant was the hot sauce bar- I thought it was cool to taste all the different sauces but it wasn't cool enough for me to recommend it to anyone.

I ran into Tijuana Flats during a busy evening of errands with my teen. We stopped next door to get her hair trimmed and she requested a drink. I was greeted with a smile and told about their new menu, which now included fish tacos. I was sold and 'made it a meal', which included bean & rice and a drink. I added an order of queso to share with my daughter, as its one of her favorite menu items. I had options of sauces from a bar while I waited. Unfortunately the gnats swarming were enough of a deter rant to my desire to try any. My name was called & I grabbed my order to go. When I got home I was starved! The fish tacos were way over salted and instead of enhancing the experience, the salsa sent my taste buds blazing. I didn't think you could mess up rice and black beans, but again, I was wrong. The rice was over seasoned with a ketchupy flavor and less than fluffy as is my preference. The beans were spicy rather than flavorful. To top off this experience, we were all sadly disappointed by the orange queso, which was closer to the large food service can of nacho cheese than anything authentic. My advice to TF on their 'new' menu, keep working on it guys. On the positive side, I have to give them kudos for the option of wheat tortillas - though not enough to make me go back again.

Loved the food!!! Oh and the staff is so polite! We went in right before they were closing and usually employees tend to hurry you!! But this staff was great and they even recommended items from the menu that we might like! I adore the "hot bar" it's amusing!!

I used to work in this area and loved going here for lunch. The staff was always working hard. Even when it wasn't busy they would be cleaning up and always attentive on the refills. The real highlight of any Tijuana Flats is the hot sauce bar. The suicide hot sauces (look for the black smiley face with the Xed out eyes) are seriously, seriously hot. Do not underestimate them or you will have a bad day. This is a counter service restaurant, so don't expect anything transcendent. However, I think this place is definitely better than Chipotle or Qdoba.

Repeat after me, "Tasty hot sauce alone does not equal a tasty entree." 2.5 stars, rounded up because I really appreciated the hot sauce bar and "lighter eating options" (their wording, not mine). THE MEDIOCRE - Overall flavor; had to rely HEAVILY on hot sauce to provide some flavor - Blackened chicken didn't have very much blackening - Even the guacamole was tasteless! - No chips are included with a norrito (burrito bowl) THE GOOD - Healthy options available (e.g. fat free sour cream, light cheese) - Many excellent (and free) hot sauce options - Fun ambiance and friendly staff THE BAD - Rice is the tomato-flavored, pink-colored "Mexican rice" from my childhood - Temperature of my food was tepid at best - Really, charging $0.99 for salsa added to your entree? I really wanted to like this place but left quite underwhelmed. I **might** be willing to give it another shot because I do like several things about the restaurant ... but I needed much more flavor out of my entree.

I have visited Tijuana Flats several times and have always had a great experience. The restaurant itself has always been clean, and seemingly well-maintained. Their staff is knowledgeable and energetic. And, most importantly - their 'Insane Chicken Nachos' live up to the name; especially when accentuated with something interesting from their hot sauce bar. I am also a big fan of their sweet tea. I am unsure if this is a custom brew, or a quality mass-produced syrup, but it hits hits the spot. Every time. If you are looking for a super-modern, Tex Mex restaurant: this is your place!

We used to love going here on our lunch breaks from work and any other time we could. The other day we ordered the take out and once we got back, they left multiple things out of our order. We decided to call back and see if those items could be refunded since we didn't have them. The lady told us no but kindly suggested we come in soon and she would give us those items for free. When we came back about a week later, we told someone about what a worker had said and she told us they don't give away free food.

Probably the best place to get a taco or burrito in Fishers. Actually, it is the best place. Fresh jalapeños, fresh meats, fresh vegetables, fresh salsa, excellent hot sauce. This food is made to order, not waiting to be heated up and piled on a plate like so many other tex-mex restaurants. There's no need for the token rice and beans when you have this much flavor in two tacos.

    (4)
  • Shradha A.

Two words I remember: Hot sauce They have some of the world's most interesting and hottest sauces. The food was good, they had vegetarian refried beans, the staff was super helpful and overall a great experience!

I redeemed a Groupon coupon on April 25, 2011. The service was very accommodating. I ordered the blackened chicken burrito without the Caesar dressing. It was yummy as usual with lots of chicken. I tried two tilapia tacos, which one of them could have had more stuffing. I love the fact that I can order WHOLE WHEAT flour soft shell. I was surprised that I received chips. Although they have a variety of different sauces, I tried two of the many sauces and really liked their popular sauce. The decor there is unique and a must see.

Decided to try Tijuana Flats tonight with my girlfriend, we were in the Mexican mood. It's definitely a Mexican-American restaurant, you'll see if you check out the menu. On the table we found a bio of how the restaurant got started, which was a pretty cool story. As soon as we walked in we were greeted warmly by one of the employees at the register. At Tijuana Flats you walk up to the counter to order, and the food is brought out to you. We started with their chips and salsa, and it was a surprisingly good salsa. A lot of places put way too much cilantro in their salsa to the point where it's all you can taste. But on to our entrees. I decided to get the large steak chimichanga, I can't for the life of me remember what they called their large, but it was a clever name. My girlfriend ordered the medium chicken chimichanga and we both decided to top it with queso. The steak is lime marinated, and while it was a bit rough, tasted very good. I feel like it may have been a shoulder tenderloin cut, which is a tough cut of meat. I did sample my girlfriend's chicken chimichanga, which was good as well but I would still recommend the steak. The queso was nice and warm, and had exceptional flavor. We both had a pleasant first experience and will definitely return in the future!

If anyone from San Diego knew I ate here, they'd laugh at me, oh wait... My dad was craving Mexican for some reason, and he mentioned he saw this place on his way in from the highway, so he suggested we pick it up. Ever since I left San Diego, I've been looking for good Mexican, and this place didn't change that status. AMBIENCE- I'm not quite sure what to make of this place. They got tvs all over the place, almost like its a bar, but I saw a bunch of kids there. I think they serve alchol, though I don't remember. As for the rest of the place, it was like a neon nightmare, though I will say it was pretty clean. Even the salsa bar looked pretty well kept. SERVICE- you can either to pick up, or sit me down style dining. We just did pick up. The people behind the counter were friendly, and were trying to be helpful, but I knew they probably wouldn't have what I really wanted. Points for trying anyways. MENU- typical Americanized Mexican fare. Burritos, tacos, enchiladas, all of which can be made into whatever type of combo you like. I will say they did have churros, which was a nice surprise, but that's about it. FOOD- my dad got a steak burrito, while I got a pork burrito, and a chicken enchilada for my wife. The burritos were big, though not very flavorful, and my wife's enchilada was bland, and the chicken was dry. I ended up ordering the churros, which weren't bad, though nothing great. OVERALL- The prices are high for what you get, and it's just not that good people. I can't believe I'm going to say this, but you could probably go to Chipotle or Qdoba and get better food. Celebrity Rating- Carlos Mencia

Gets an A+ in my book. Service is friendly, the atmosphere is clean and fun and the food is fresh. All the naysayers need to chill, the place is not marketed as an authentic mexican joint........it's a burrito place, your abuela is not in the back hand grinding corn tortillas with a 100 year old stone pestle passed to her from her abuela, but its still delicious. The food is served hot, fresh and there's plenty of it. Fortunately, the hot sauce bar coincides with unlimited soda refills....consider that fair warning....and if you need a Corona with your burrito they have that too. Give it a try.....just remember where you are.

Went back a second time and it wasn't a fluke, this place is great. BF and I split a huge burrito that was tasty. Service was excellent. They have some of the friendliest people there. After our order came out we asked for an extra plate since we were sharing and they told us next time just tell them when you order and they will split everything in half before it's served.

Their service is superb. You order at the counter but this is not like any other fast food service.....you pay, then sit at the table and they come by many times to check on you, refill your drinks, and make sure you have everything you need. You get the attention of the whole staff rather than just 1 overworked waiter/waitress! This restaurant is a chain that started in Florida, but we only have the one in Fishers here in Indiana! The sauce bar is one of the best things. They have 12 sauces ranging from sweet to ghost(which is made with naga bhut jolokia which is a million scoville units compared to the jalepeno at 5000 units according to their sign). They have a few versions of the smack my ass and call me sally sauces in between as well. I would actually probably give this place 4 and half stars if it had more variety on the menu. I'm not a fan of burritos, flautas, tacos and tortilla shells in general much(but we come here often because my fiance LOVES it). It just makes it worse that if I am eating it I have stuff it with beef, chicken, or pork. I am a seafood lover so I'd like to see something of the sort as an option. Each time I go I'm limited to what I could order. It would be great to have a shrimp or fish alternative. Yum I can just imagine the citrus grilled shrimp or fried fish with their yummy sauces now! I typically get the spinach and artichoke quesadillas 5.99 and they are very satisfying. They also have a pick two different items for 8.99 and you can make anything a meal for an additional 1.99. There is also a kids menu for 3.99 for the little ones. They also sell a few draft beers here. Dos equis and 312 on draft currently. It's $3.50 and refills are only $2 Everything comes out really quick and their queso is quite good!

Go for the chimichangas and the nd Hot sauce. Enough said. Great Tex-Mex, especially if you love trying lots of different kinds of hot sauces for free. They have Beer too- a bonus. And they sell their bottled hot sauce!

I have been here several times and i have to say its a pretty decent mexican place to go for lunch if you work in the area. They have a pretty standard menu of mexican favorites but the star here is the hot sauce bar. They have at least 20 different sauces here for you to try and some of them are out of this world hot. Definitely a great place to try if you're a hot sauce lover like me. The burritos come in 3 different sizes and they also have tacos, chimichangas, quesedillas, etc. Try the burrito "wet" where they put cheese sauce over the top, its really delicious. The atmosphere is fun and festive and they have tons of pictures of famous poeple on the walls eating their food. Give it a try over Q-doba or Chipotle one day and you wont be sorry.

I love this place! It is fast, fresh and fun. Don't go here expecting authentic Mexican food, because that, IMO, is not what this food is about. It is very good, but just different than true Mexican style. Don't get me wrong, they have burritos, tacos, nachos, chimmies, etc. But they have an American spin on them. Maybe it is the great hot sauce bar that makes me feel that way. Whatever the reason, I really like eating here. I always like eating at restaurants that my gluten-free husband does not get sick from and this is one of them. Also, since we come in a lot, the staff and management just about know us by name. Always a plus.

Before I rule any place completely out I try different things. So after my third visit I can truly say, "I won't be back" not even if you're buying. When I dine out I go to an american place for american, mexican place for mexican, italian for italian etc... This place is white bread mexican. Service is great, decor is poppin, loved the sauce bar but it's the only flavor you'll find here. Sorry... i really did try to like it since it's not a chain but just couldn't do it. It's not for me.

Tijuana Flats is a Florida-based chain of fast-casual Mexican restaurants. Somehow, Fishers landed the only Indiana location. It is a great place to go for lunch and I think it must be pretty popular down in Florida because the walls have photos of celebrities eating there and reviews from magazines and newspapers. The menu at Tijuana Flats offers more choices than Chipotle or Qdoba and it took me several visits to find a dish that I liked a lot (blackened chicken quesadillas). I kept going back because I have several coworkers who swear by this place. They have a nice hot sauce bar with about 15 options, including several sweet-spicy varieties that are great if you can't handle too much spice. Besides the quesadillas, I also recommend their rice bowls. They are pretty much just like a taco salad, but with rice (yay carbs!) instead of lettuce. I haven't tried them, but my coworkers have recommended the fish tacos. Give this place a try if you are looking for a new Mexican option in Fishers!

Excellent burritos, chimmies, and by far the most extensive hot sauce bar anywhere. After many hot wing challenges, this place was the first Mexican good joint that had a sauce that I could not handle as it made me hiccup uncontrollably. I tip my hat..

For the money this is EASILY the best Mexican/Southwest food you can get in the Indy area. They selection is good, the sauces are GREAT, and the employees continue to look after your table long after it has done their pocketbook much good. The decor and names of sauces are a scream too! Not a bad beer selection either...

Great, flavorful food. Not just your average Mexican food. Be sure to sample the hot sauce bar.

Anything less than 5 stars is an insult to this place. Their hot sauce bar is the best. Their Chimichanga and Tostada are most recommended, but you'll pretty much like anything on their menu. Even the crushed ice in the soda is awesome.

So one of my co-workers told me to try lunch here...I was craving nachos and a Taco Bell trip the previous day left me seriously unsatisfied. I have driven by here many times on 96th street...The parking situation here is a wreck so pay attention so you don't get hit. First impression is a hipster Chipotle...honestly feels like they are trying a bit too hard. I know it's a chain affair but still... The woman at the counter was VERY helpful for a noob like myself. I grunted something about "nachos" and she gave me several options. I settled on the chicken nachos with extra jalapenos. The serving size was enormous...and damn was it tasty. It fell short of perfect though...way too much lettuce. I will be back to try a burrito in the future...that sounds good too.

High quality Tex-Mex. As long as you have an expectation you're not getting old school traditional Mexican you'll be fine. Tasty blackened chicken tacos and the famous hot salsa bar rewarded me on my last visit. Thanks MG. Relatively new: garlic peri-peri sauce. Zippy.

Fast service, quality food.. what more could you ask for? I liked the chimichangas and especially enjoyed the hot sauce bar! The food was really reasonably priced as well.

The hot sauce bar and very friendly service definitely pushed a 2-star rating on food alone, to three (3) stars. It was our first visit, after searching for a nearby Mexican place on Yelp due to mexi-cravings. We were promptly greeted and the ordering process was explained in a cheerful, non-condescending manner. I order the chicken and black bean nachos, and was disappointed by what was brought out. While the menu promised "melted cheese" and guacamole, my chips were sprinkled with cold shredded cheese with minuscule green dots of guacamole. I liked that fresh jalapeños were offered and the black beans were delicious, plentiful, and warm (thankfully), but I had to search for the few furtive pieces of dry chicken. I was able to compensate by experimenting with the hot sauce bar offerings, but was disappointed overall. When I inquired over my partner's chicken burrito, he gave a shrug and an "okay". Maybe it was just an off time for the kitchen? We visited in the late afternoon, not at peak lunch or dinner times. The bathroom was very clean and the decor was neon-bright and quirky, just not my cup of tea. We probably won't be back, only because Indy offers so many Mexican options and it wasn't enough of positive or unique experience to differentiate Tijuana Flats from our favorites.

Located just down the strip mall from the new Sun King Fishers Tap Room, my wife and I decided to grab a bite at Tijuana Flats after some beer tastings. I had the chicken Chimi Changa and my wife had the tacos. While I wouldn't rave over the quality of each dish, it was pretty good. Definitely higher class than a Taco Bell, but below an Adobo Grill. If those two had a happy medium between them, this place would be it.

Ordered chicken and steak burritos. Could easily have passed for vegetarian burritos. They were chuck full of lettuce. Very very small portions of meat in each burrito. Pathetic. Store-bought tortillas. Dull bland boring taste.

Easily the best Mexican around. Blows away Qdoba and Chipotle. Very affordable- they have specials on Tuesday and Thursday that are awesome. Also if you sign up for their mailing list, they send deals your way too. Did I mention crushed ice? Or the hot sauce bar? Or the marihuana references?

I agree with many of the other reviews. I had passed by this place many times. It's not much to look at from the outside. Inside has a lot going on...from the wsll color to all the picutures on the wall. Its seating is not traditional mexican, but American bar. The staff was friendly and greeted me. I made my selection of Pick Dos- quesadailla and chimichangs...both beef. All the toppings where put on the side for my to go order. I added guacamole. When I got home, the food was still hot. The cheese was melted in both. It was pretty flavorful. The guacamole was fresh and a little spicy kick. I could see and taste chunks of avocado. There were many salsas to pick from. I picked two low spicy sweet salsa. Both were good. There were so many to pick from I have no idea which 2 I picked. I think I will be back

Mexican Cuisine

If you enjoy Taco Tuesday, then you have officially fallen in love with the Mexican Food. The main grain of Mexican cuisine is maize. Also known as corn, maize is grown for the past 9000 years after the crop was discovered by the people in Mayan civilization. Mexican empire flourished when they started growing beans, tomatoes, chili pepper, sweet potato and cactus. Till this date these ingredients are used in cooking authentic Mexican dishes and drinks.

Great use of spices, fresh chili pepper dishes like fajitas, tortilla chips, corn chips, salsa, chimichangas, burritos, nachos and quesadillas are invented in America. But when you are looking for authentic Mexican food then you must find a restaurant in the city that serves Rajas con Queso, Garbanzo in a Guajillo Chile Sauce, Pork Filled Chiles Rellenos, Chiles en Nogada, Molcajete Salsa, Pico de Gallo and Frijoles de la Olla. An eye-opening fact – Mexican don't like their food hot. They use fresh chili and other spices to create a flavor that lingers in your mouth.

Mexican food is great for those who are Gluten Intolerant as they use Corn instead of wheat in most of their dishes. Also, you can easily find many beans based Mexican dishes. Another dish which didn't get similar glory as tacos or nachos is the Mexican hot chocolate. If you love something hot on a chilly day, then go for Mexican Hot Chocolate. On merry days, you can enjoy the authentic Mexican Drinks like Tequila, Mezcal, Tecuí, Sotol, Bacanora, Charanda, Posh O Pox, Puebla and Pulque. Mexican Cuisine is for people who enjoy strong drinks and hearty meals.
