Breakfast food is easy to make, but hard to make well. I can count on one hand the number of times that I can get a place to make over medium eggs the right way - without brown scorch marks, with a runny center and fully cooked whites. Sunrise Café managed perfect eggs, which always impresses me. I like that there are a fair amount of "lower carb" options (also gluten free too) and that their strawberry jam is homemade and tastes just like my mom's. I remain puzzled by the "to go" options on the back of the menu though - do people really come in and grab a pint of icing to go? I guess they must because otherwise why would it be an option? Same thing with the "bowl of sausage gravy" side - does that get ordered? By who? I have questions. What I don't have questions about is Sunrise's ability to turn out a very good breakfast including perfectly made eggs. Two thumbs up for that.

Went here for breakfast today and had the egg benedict, which was delicious. The coffee was good, although not great. Our server was nice and attentive although they seemed to be busy. Will definitely be coming back for more overall. It's nice to have a good breakfast joint close to home.

The menu at Sunrise is your typical breakfast/lunch joint with just what you would expect. What makes it great is that they offer homemade bread options and have the best fresh strawberry jelly I've ever had. If you are a toast lover such as myself, it will be the highlight of your experience at Sunrise. Service is always good, food hits the table fast. Worth the usual wait of 20-30 minutes to get seated on the weekend.

Super friendly staff. Coffee was beyond stout. Food was mediocre at best. Pretty bummed out because we were looking forward to trying this place!

Always solid breakfast food and service there is always very friendly and solid. Wide section of basic breakfast foods... Kids love their pancakes. I am a fan of their cinnamon toast.

Spend a lot of time here! Perfect for quick, healthy family meals with breakfast ALL day long! Very family friendly to take kids of any age out to eat. We often have impromptu meetings here as the staff are friendly and patient with our team sitting for a little bit to get our days organized.

Don't blink....if you do, you may miss this little gem tucked in a corner. I've been driving by it almost every day on my way to work and have always thought 'hmm, i should check them out." Well, I've finally got around to it...and I regret that it took me so long. I had a simple diner dish, beef wrap with onion rings. But the beef was delicious. I'll be going back again, so I'll definitely be reviewing some of the other dishes too. It's a pretty tiny place, really homey feeling and very nice hostess & waitress. In general...nothing fancy, quiet atmosphere (i think my buddy & I were the loudest), great food, good price, & nice people. Try it out.

Had lunch here today. The bacon (crispy) and hash browns (well done) were cooked perfectly just like my request. And kudos x a billion for having homemade bread options (I had whole wheat...yum) along with homemade strawberry preserves. The portion sizes were good as I devoured everything. My over easy eggs were cooked all the way through, and as I like my eggs still clucking...that is the only reason this isn't a 5 star review (plus the price seems just a tad high). I foresee many return trips to this hole in the wall spot.

Great little diner! Good food, generous portions, several options. Coffee was standard diner coffee, but the service was great... We had Kelly as a server, and she was charming, helpful, and attentive. Certainly worth a repeat visit... Tastes just like small town breakfast. Don't miss the homemade bread and strawberry jam!

I have just had breakfast here so this review is based on that. Eggs benedict was very good. Hash browns were a little too crispy but not bad. Coffee could be better but overall it's good food for a decent price.

This place is delightful!! Greeter was a little off-putting, but the service made up for it! Food was absolutely wonderful, and very fresh. All of it was hand made and the flavors were a joy to partake in. The server was great and kept my coffee full and water topped off. If I ever come back to this area to work, I will be visiting again. Fantastic place!!

on multiple occasions this restaurant has had a server overstate the tip amount when running my credit card. This has happened multiple times by different servers. I think its either a culture of sloppiness or thievery. Either way, if you choose to dine here, you better place close attention to your credit card statement and keep your receipt.

The tables are really close together. If your not keen on having people so close to you when you're eating or having conversations this is probably not the place for you. Other than that food is good!

Bacon...Yes I love Bacon, eggs, toast and crispy fried potatoes. Always busy, clean with hot food but the table are very close together.

Soooo.....I used to come here on Saturday and Sunday mornings for "hangover food" and I usually wore what I had on the night before "walk of shame" style....and it was always SOOOO good and such a great start after a LONG night. I haven't been here in about four years but my hubby and I stopped in for a bite on the way to pick up our kiddos after a night out downtown. I was a bit hungover and it made sense to give it a go. I was so happy we went after our experience. I always thought there were only three kinds of eggs....and I have a preference of how I like mine (doesn't everyone?). WHO KNEW there were like 8 versions of eggs? Our server was AWESOME at walking me through the egg-ordering process. See, I like my eggs a bit harder in the middle but still a little runny but not toooooo runny, if that makes sense. I don't like them cooked all the way through though! Explaining this in most places usually ends up with either overcooked or very underdone eggs and I will not eat either of them. Wellll...apparently I like my eggs "over medium". Seriously - I had no idea this was even a thing! But she was right....they were the perfect balance of hard with a little drizzle to dip my toast in. I don't ask for much, ha! I was very happy with the entire experience and I thought our server especially was wonderful. On a busy Sunday a.m. there was a very short wait and it seemed like service was running smoothly for everyone even though the restaurant was pretty crowded. I would definitely go back for more! I also really enjoy their biscuits and gravy. There are so few places that do gravy well but this is one of them. The price point for breakfast is right on as well. I mean, no one needs to be charging $15/per person for the lowest costing food options on the planet. If you like that "greasy spoon," "hole in the wall" type of atmosphere with a homey knowledgeable but also super friendly staff, give Sunrise a try. It's in everyone's neck of the woods on the north side!

Nice place. Food was good. Typical breakfast food, nothing special. Would consider going again but probably not. Bigger portions or possibly more menu items could make this a bit better. I'd like to see grape juice on menu. Average service.

Another great experience. Came for breakfast this morning at 9am. There was a short wait for a table of about 10 minutes. My wife and I both ordered the combo #2 which is two eggs, toast, and hashbrowns. What we love about Sunrise is how perfectly the eggs are cooked, no matter how you order them. Scrambled or over easy, they are never overcooked or undercooked. The hashbrowns are some of the best I've had as well. Also love the homemade strawberry jam. Even though it was a busy Saturday morning, the service was excellent and we didn't have to wait long for our food.

Nothing special about this place but they charge like it. The coffee is the same price as Starbucks, but nowhere near as good. I ordered an omelet, and all the ingredients outside of the eggs and cheese are extra, so if you get a few, it gets up there in a hurry. There was something off tasting in mine, like something wasn't real fresh. The hash browns were just a chunk that looked like it came out of a deep fryer. I can get the same at McDonalds for a lot less. I'm going back, but only because I have a Groupon to use up.

The nice thing about Sunrise is they do what they do well. Simple and to the point food in a nice room that is not trying to be more then what it is. Good food from good people who are trying to feed you not fool you! Remember to eat well and live well! And please no chains!

Best hash browns in the area, we get them to-go at least once a month. The menu is a bit hard to read and follow, but try something and you'll like it. Omelets can quickly become expensive, I wish they had some pre-made options like Cafe Patachou or at least daily/weekly omelet specials.

I am not from Fishers, but when my Dad took me here, i really liked it. The service is AMAZING! everyone is so friendly. Omelets are good, eggs Benedict are awesome, and i really like their strawberry jam. I only came on Sunday mornings and it was always crowded, but not too long of a wait. Food and service is totally worth it!

We stopped by the Sunrise Cafe on a Sunday morning for breakfast. there was a line to get seated and a 25 minute wait so we figured it must be good. Outside of the service, it was. The food was what you would expect at a diner-style restaurant, quickly prepared and tasty. But, the service really made us not want to come back. We were seated by the hostess and asked if we wanted coffee. I did and quickly had a cup. but, since my wife didn't, she wait the ten to fifteen minutes until our waitress arrived to get anything. Now, if they were busy, that would be one thing. But, to be observed chatting with (what I am sure were) regulars and friends while I sat waiting, that is something else. And, when you arrive, you don't bother to introduce yourself or tell us the specials (as we observed other waitress doing at the tables who were helped before us), that is not a mark in your favor either. I should note, our waitress was not rude or unpleasant. She was just clearly more interested in some tables than others. And, since bus boys bring all the food out, not the waitresses, she had plenty of time to visit AFTER her tables were covered (since she had time to stand and visit with other waitresses while we waited to be taken care of and had time to roll silverware too). So, was the food at Sunrise good? sure. Was it good enough to offset the poor service? Not even close. We won't be back.

We had great food (Eggs Benedict cooked properly) and service the first time we tried Sunrise Cafe, so we figured we would try it again. Big Mistake. First, our Eggs Benedict came out all wrong- they must be trying to cut corners/save money because the canadian bacon was replaced with deli ham(!?!?!?!), the eggs were way over-cooked, and the plate was smothered in hollandaise (presumably to cover the glaring mistakes with the dish). Anyway, we told our server that we needed the chef to try it again and she took our plates. The manager (maybe the owner) came over to our table and proceeded to explain to us how the eggs are supposed to be (we know how eggs are supposed to be cooked for Eggs Benedict)- and suggested we order our eggs over-medium (as in a fried egg on an Eggs Benedict!?!?!?). The second try was a no-go and we told the server to take our plates again (I tried to eat my meal but it was seriously disgusting). My mom and daughter were still eating (their plates came out fine) and the server NEVER CAME BACK TO CHECK ON THEM, and never asked if we wanted to try something simple like Biscuits and Gravy. And to make matters completely worse, they charged us for the hash browns and toast we were eating from our plates while they messed up the rest of our meals. WORST SERVICE EVER.

Sunrise Cafe is a great place for breakfast or lunch. The eggs benedict is one of the best I have ever had and the homemade strawberry jam is amazing! Yes, it can be quite busy and you might have to wait, do it, it's worth it. I have never had bad service here, staff is always friendly. I don't live too far from this place and when I have friends or family in town I always bring them here. Seriously, the eggs benedict, try it.
