Pizza's above average, but the reason I give this place 5 stars is the beer selection. The selection isn't overly expansive, but they have some stuff that I haven't seen elsewhere in the city. I haven't been to every nook and cranny in the city, but I've visited some craft beer specific bars that didn't have quite the eclectic selection that Rockstone offered.

I dined in at this restaurant on their 2nd opening night with my parents. We had a great experience. We shared the Greek Salad which was amazing. I had the gluten free club med pizza which was very yummy. My parents had the margherita pizza (not gluten free) which they enjoyed as well. Great service! Great atmosphere! The owner even came to our table and asked for my recommendations on which gluten free beers to start selling...I'm hoping they get angry orchard soon! I saw the negative reviews and thought I'd let others know about my great experience. 1 more hour and I can order some for take out! :)

Excellent date night! Saw all the awesome reviews and decided to give it a try- and so glad we did! We went around 7:30 on a Saturday and surprisingly got seated immediately. Deceptive on the outside, kinda plain building in strip, but inside is very modern and stylish! Great selection of beers on tap. Ordered the breadsticks with cheese dip, so good! We split one salad between us, which they brought out already divided and was the perfect size. We ordered the Monterrey Mex pizza and it was amazing! Great flavors and really tasty crust. We will definitely be making this a regular choice!

I really hate to be the one to go against all the hype of this place -- but I gotta be honest. We had a less than stellar visit to Rockstone. Lemme tell you why... We went on a double date with another couple who had called ahead for a table. We still had to wait, but it was ok -- we were chatting and catching up. Plus, calling ahead is a great feature, right? Once seated, we asked our waiter if they offered flights of beer. His response: "I think so." Ummm, ok. When I asked how many ounces per pour and how many beers were in a flight, he did not know. Perhaps he also did not know that there was no set price per flight and I would be charged different prices per beer when the bill came... but I am getting ahead of myself. We ordered the breadsticks and the roasted beet salad to split. Pretty sad when the highlight of the meal was a darn breadstick. The beet salad was good, but if you tout an ingredient in the name, maybe it should be a major player in the dish. Just sayin'. We asked our server for input on which pizzas we should order and he had no suggestions for us. Awesome. Hubs has a dairy allergy so we each got our own 10" wood fired pizzas -- He the BBQ chicken (sans cheese) and I opted for the FunGuy. The other couple we were with got the wood fired Trio -- and it was pretty tasty. Ours were absolutely nothing to write home about. Hub's did not taste at all like BBQ and mine lacked flavor -- despite looking amazing. Basically $12 for a personal pan pizza chapped me out a little bit, too...but I am willing to pay that for an amazing pie. This was far from amazing. This would have been a one-star experience for me if the delicious, flaky breadstick and the small offering of roasted beets I tasted had not saved the day. We WANTED to like this place, but from jump it was just off...our server lacked basic knowledge of his products and did not offer to get the information for us. Add to that the surprise of random prices per beer on the flight (where not all beers came filled to the top -- see pic) and we will not return to Rockstone. There are WAY too many other pizza places to visit instead.

I've been to Rockstone a couple of times now and have had very good experiences both times. The first time was with my kids and as others have mentioned they do seat you in a further back room that can get a little loud. This isn't an issue to me but to others it can be. Kids had individual pizzas and we shared breadsticks which were a real hit. I had the BBQ chicken pizza which was also very good but maybe just a touch sweeter than would have been perfect for me. We also shared a couple of desserts which were also great. This last time I went with my wife and no kids so we were able to sit in the main bar area which is the better of the two seating areas. My wife had a wood fired classic trio (sausage, pepperoni, and mushroom) to which she added fennel seed and red onion. I had the gooseboli sandwich and cheezy chorizo tater ale soup. Every thing was very tasty with the only real complaint I could have was maybe just a bit to much bread on the sandwich. This could be personal preference though as I generally prefer less bread on my sandwhiches. Service was quick and did a very good job on keeping our drinks taken care of.

For those that know me you know I'm a big pizza guy. I could eat pizza all day, every day, but then again I would be bookmarking the nearest gym to pay the piper. When I find a place that serves up great pizza I almost hate myself. Why, Chris, do you go to places that you know will be a crave spot with a menu full of carbs? Dang it! Thanks to my fellow Yelpers for holding this pie maker in high regard. It's not impressive from the outside, but the inside is an industrial feel with old school Thomas Edison lights, flat screens, libations, and the smell of melting cheese and baked bread. The bar is a good size, but because Indiana has a crazy law about kids eating in the bar we were escorted to a small back dining room. Still lots of flat screens and plenty of space so that you don't feel like you're eating alongside fellow patrons. Good menu with the standard pizza and apps. Breadsticks are delicious and come with several dipping options. Baked pizza dough chips accompany the velvety spinach artichoke dip. And, there were artichokes- which many advertise but don't include. Pizza was crispy and chewy loaded with lots of toppings. Choose from their creative options or make your own. And, the pasta is solid cooked perfectly al dente. Great spot to celebrate a team win, birthday party, or Friday pizza family get-together. Looking forward to the next time around for this dough maker.

Stopped in tonight to enjoy the Northside Nights menu. On this visit we were accompanied by another married couple that have a baby. Thus, we didn't sit in the bar, instead we sat in the family area. We called ahead and were seated at the time promised. While waiting i ordered a Gumballhead as a joke and was told "we always have that on draft". And they did. The northside nights menu is not quite as advertised: for $30 you pick 2 salads, 2 pizzas, and either a dessert or an appetizer. Fortunately with 4 people we split 2 devour menus and got to share 1 app, 4 salads, 4 pizzas, and 1 dessert. The appetizer (breadsticks) arrived after the salads, which was odd, but all were delicious. I had the beat salad, which seemed to be lacking in pistachios. If you advertise an ingredient, make sure it is recognizable in the dish. The pizzas, as always, were amazing. The pork pie is by far the best I've had here. The Sassy Karl was a close second. The 4 of us split a s'mores pizza. 6" may sound like a decent size, but it is just a tasting portion when split 4 ways. It was incredibly sweet but delicious. Service was a bit spotty in the family section, but it improved as the night went on and the younger crowd faded. Overall my wife and I love this place and can't wait until Sahm's opens a second Rockstone in Nora!

Absolutely love this place! Fantastic lunch special which bring us in a few times a month...sometimes more. The salad is amazing and I love the Gorgonzola dressing. Pair that with the fun guy pizza and you can't go wrong. They also have amazing bread sticks and soup. I've never left disappointed...well, except for the fact we're a mile outside of the delivery area...

This one of my most favorite places to eat!! The beer list is always awesome and the food is so phenomenal! Their Rockstone Salad is so simple yet so delicious!! Their pizzas and sandwiches are also amazing! I tend to find one thing I like at a restaurant and then just order that every time I go. Every time I go or order from Rockstone I get something new and nothing has disappointed me!! Love, love, love it!!

My boyfriend and I were very impressed with this place. After having both done our long runs today, we were starving when we hit up Rockstone. I had seen other Yelp reviews that said to get the breadsticks and y'all were spot on - the breadsticks alone sold this place for us. You get five gigantic breadsticks with your choice of dipping sauce (pale ale chorizo cheese sauce ftw!) and it's only $4.50. I got the Shrimp Bisque pizza with a side of herb ranch and my boyfriend got the Buff Chick pizza with a side of Gorgonzola sauce. Both were wood-fired and fantastic. Crispy bottom, enough of a crust to dunk it, and ingredients put together in such a tasty way. I had never had shrimp on a pizza and it was fantastic. Service was very quick, although we went there at like 4:30 on a Saturday and it was pretty dead. Staff was very friendly and I loved the vibe and decor. The mosaic behind the bar is gorgeous and the quotes on the wall was such a fun touch. And I loved the pendant lighting - very industrial and gorgeous. We are already planning on taking family to Rockstone when they're in town in a couple weeks. We will definitely be back!

This has become one of my favorite lunch spots. Highly recommend the Rockstone salad with the Greek yogurt vinaigrette. Everything is beautifully plated and each pizza I've had is delicious. The salad portions are so generous that I always have leftover pizza. The service is great and they always offer a to-go cup of pop. I don't go out to eat much for lunch but this is a great deal, especially since I have pizza to reheat tomorrow!

We were looking for a meeting spot between north of Indy and downtown for some friends. Pulling into the strip mall type area made us a little nervous but once you walk in, it vanish quickly. We ended up in the bar area which was nice and pleasant. We started off with the spinach goat dip which was excellent. We asked for more chips but there were 4 of us. The beer list is plentiful and a beer lover will have no issues finding something they love. We ordered two wood fired pizza's and devoured both of them. We will probably return.

The shrimp bisque pizza was an interesting take. I liked the sauce to crust ratio and the shrimp wasn't cooked to death. I wish the wood fired pizzas were offered in the 14" not just the 10". The real star for me was the craft beer selection on tap! I had looked everywhere for Gumball Head from 3 Floyds and found it here. Not as good as Baxbeaus but worth going back.

Move over, Bazbeaux and Jockamo's!!! This place is my new favorite trendy, foodie pizza place! Every time my husband and I come here, we can't help but notice the niceness of the atmosphere! It's NOTICEABLY nice! They have a good beer selection and great mellow music. And you don't have to wait forever for a table like you do in Broad Ripple or Downtown! I normally don't discriminate too much when it comes to pizza (I like Papa John's just as much as the next guy), but if you're in the mood for something a little more foodie approved, this is your place! My one complaint is that when you order a glass of wine here, it's more like a thimble! :( Come on, people! Pour it like you mean it!!!

I went here after seeing an article in Indianapolis Monthly that listed them as one of the best spots for Mac and Cheese. We ordered the Buff Chick dip which was really good and a good mix of buffalo and cheese without overdoing the buffalo sauce! It came with super yummy wood-fired crackers that I could have eaten on their own, just a tad sweet with a great crunch to it. I ordered the Mac Daddy mac and cheese that had City ham, diced bacon, and capocollo along with a mix of cheeses. I am in full agreeance with the top mac and cheese rating that IM gave. It was amazing and I love that it has the proteins so you actually stay full after the carb high has worn off. My friend had the Deluxious Sammy on Focaccia that looked amazing as well and received a good review from her. The dining enviornment is nice. The decor is similar to the sister restarant, Sahm's, that is next door and includes a full bar, daily drink specials, and multiple tvs.

I've lived in Fishers almost 5 years and just tried this spot a few weeks ago. Chicken Caesar is awesome, bread sticks are delicious, chicken club sandwich is huge, tasty and very filling. Love that you can get fresh fruit as a side. Delivery was fast and inexpensive. Haven't tried the pizza though!

I'd been contemplating trying Rockstone Pizzeria & Pub since my visit to the nearby Wiseguys Pizza, but it was a recent visit by a friend that made me finally say "Okay, it's time." So, on a lazy Sunday afternoon I decided it would be a great place to enjoy a meal, watch the Colts game, and read my Sunday newspaper. Rockstone is located in a strip center just inside Fishers, Indiana with a Sahm's location and a Massage Indy location also located in the strip. It's not a particularly impressive building, but it's infinitely less divey than the nearby Wiseguys. I will admit that Rockstone lost a star before I ever made it inside. While they have a nice little curb cut that helps with wheelchair access, they'd rather ignorantly placed their outdoor signage on the sidewalk very close to an outdoor bike rack and it blocked anyone with a mobility issue from actually accessing the restaurant. While I was able to move it, it wasn't exactly simple to do so and a lot of folks with mobility issues wouldn't be able to do so. Once I got by the sign, I went in their double-glass doors and there was a host/hostess area with a hand-written sign to seat ourselves at the bar. That was simple enough and, in fairness, I did arrive at almost 2pm in the afternoon. So, I seated myself at a four-seat table that was for the most part out of the light from the outside. The walls had several televisions, all playing football games and all playing the Colts game with the exception of one. There were also a few booths along the outside of the dining area against the walls. The place was almost empty with the exception of a couple booths that were taken and a handful of bodies at the bar. I don't really consider myself high maintenance, but I do have this guideline that if you're an employee and you see me enter and sit down then you should acknowledge me whether you're going to be my server or not. So, I was a little disconcerted to have one server completely ignore me as she walked by me twice. Finally, a server came by and noticed my presence and handed me a drink menu before noticing I hadn't been given any other menus. I'm not sure why I needed a lunch menu when lunch specials are only applicable Monday-Friday, but I received one. The decor has sort of a pub meets industrial vibe to it. The drink menu is extensive, though I stuck with my usual iced tea. The menu consists primarily of wood-baked pizzas, appetizers, a couple desserts, and a few foccaccia sandwiches. While the idea of a whole pizza wasn't really appealing, I opted for a 10" pepperoni as I'd been told their wood-stove pizzas were good. The wait wasn't bad at all and within a few minutes I had my pizza. It was light, crispy, and to be perfectly honest I had no problem polishing it all off without feeling overly stuffed. Of course, I hadn't eaten at all during the day and that likely helped. The toppings were good and plentiful and balanced throughout each slice. Service was attentive and I did get my always desired refill. What's my overall impression? As I noted, I swiped away one star right away because of the unnecessary and inconsiderate accessibility issue. Thus, we're in the 3-4 star range here. There's a part of me that wants to give Rockstone a 4-star rating, but I have to be honest and say it lacked that certain spark that separates it from other establishments. While there's no question that the atmosphere is vastly superior to Wise Guys, I honestly preferred the Wise Guys pizza. This pizza, while I liked the wood-baked quality, was good but it simply didn't "wow" me like I want an upper tier pizzeria to wow me. The same was true for the service - it was attentive but not particularly inviting. In my opinion, really good service makes you want to go back and go back soon. I enjoyed my meal, but Rockstone will definitely not be a destination spot for me. If I really want a wood-baked pizza, Napolese is closer and superior.

We came here on Valentines night, and the place was not very busy. We didn't have, or need, reservations which suited me me just fine. We enjoyed some of the shrimp bisque baked pasta which was creamy and decadent, and definitely something worth coming back for..as long add it's chock full of shrimp again! The pasta dishes come with soup or salad, and I paired it with shrimp bisque, which was also wonderful. All for a reasonable price of $13.50. Hubby was in the mood for healthier fare, so he got a garden Margherita soup, and chicken ratatouille. These were described by him as "funky" and aren't something we'd probably choose next time, because the shrimp bisque items were so good. The ratatouille was $10.95. We live so close we will probably come back.

Short version: The Food is so so, The beer is GOOD ! Visited couple times and had various wood-fired pizzas with the family for lunches. Maybe it's due to my conditioned bias to chain-store pizza's but honestly, the wood fired pizzas weren't the greatest and not the worst pizzas I had. It was OK. It probably wasn't helped with the bottom of the pizza covered in soot. The waiter (don't recall the name) was GREAT! Good service. The craft beer tasted great. And very good selection of them too. Conclusion: go there to enjoy the beer (i.e., the beer is the main "DISH"), and use the pizzas as a side dish to your beer.

The hubby and I stopped in on a busy Friday night. We were told there was a 20-30 minutes wait. Our wait ended up only being about 15 minutes! Woohoo! We were seated in the front bar area and the first thing I noticed was how loud it was. Maybe it is quieter in the back dining room? Our server was friendly and drink and food service was quick. We ordered the breadsticks with the pale ale chorizo cheese sauce and the mac daddy cheese sauce. First off, the breadsticks were fantastic. Great seasoning, a bit crunchy on the outside and fluffy on the inside. The cheese sauces were equally delicious however, the chorizo sauce was my favorite. For our entree we ordered a 14" Deluxious. Pepperoni, italian sausage, green bell pepper, red onion and mushrooms...yum! We each had two slices and were stuffed. Yay for leftovers! Everything on their menu looked delicious. We really enjoyed Rockstone and will definitely be back.

I love the creative options here and that they use locally-sourced food. It's a place where some of my family could get the yummy gourmet options while others could get the old standards (cheese pizza, mac & cheese). :-) I can't normally eat conventional pork products because of food allergies but they serve pasture-raised pork from the Smoking Goose here...so I was able to get my fill! The breadsticks were very yummy (though a little greasy)...the kids loved it. The Penne Pasta salad was good, but I would have preferred a thinner pasta for a cold salad...maybe bowtie or something like that. The Potato Bacon Pizza was good but basically tasted like a baked potato. My teenager did complain that both the Potato Bacon and the Rustica pizzas were a bit salty. The Gooseboli sandwich was flavorful & delicious. Would definitely go again! There's so much to choose from!

A yelp review is one persons experience, colored by their other experiences in a single moment in time. Kinda like a supernova image hanging on the event horizon of a black hole. Given that, I have to say my experience here was a little below average. The specialty pizza was pretty good. The dessert pizza was kind of tough, and the waitress forgot our root beer float. The family section was badly lit and had uncomfortable chairs. The bar looked nice, but with the little guy, I didn't see much of it. The mural of the farm scene was quite pleasant, though. The server was nice, fairly attentive, but when DH replied that he wouldn't order the dessert pizza again, she didn't ask why. One of the managers came out to speak with another table about reserving space for an event. He spoke to them, but didn't even acknowledge anyone at any of the other tables. Usually most managers would at least say "hi folks" and keep running if they were busy in the kitchen. All in all, the breadsticks were nice.

This place is just good, period. They have a fanatic craft beer selection and amazing wood fired pizzas. Make sure to get their meatball pizza, he uses the same meatballs as his meatball subs at sahms. You can't go wrong with their breadsticks and beer cheese. I struggle to not go here every weekend.

After seeing Rockstone rating so highly, we decided to stop in on our family pizza night. We showed up on Thursday around 6:30 or so and the place wasn't very busy, which surprised me since most of the reviews said there was usually a wait. We were seated in the back right away and we ordered a regular pepperoni and a wood fired Sassy Karl. The regular pie was just your standard pizza and nothing really stood out but the wood fired pizza was fantastic. The Sassy Karl had excellent flavor and had several toppings you don't usually get but I think the chili oil was the superstar. I usually have to sprinkle a bunch of red pepper to give pizza a kick but I didn't even reach for the shaker here. We will definitely be back to try out some of the other wood fired pizzas (buff chick and bbq are on the list next) but I don't think I'd order a traditional again, especially at $15 for a simple pepperoni pizza. I also hope to get to try out all of the sauces everyone else keeps mentioning in their reviews.

Food has been superior! But I'm a winey... Most casual places these days cater to beer drinkers. Rockstone has managed to create a pronominal beer list AND wine list!!! OMG! Sake! A sparkling from Spain! Several whites... A Spanish Rose..... & a red list to die for!!! Try the 2011 Quinta Do Crasto (Douro Valley, Portugal) OMG!!! Or the 2011 Pinotage - Val de Vie 'Batista' Pinotage!!! Excellent ! Guys! Get in there & help me keep it in the menu!!! YUMM !!!

I've dined here twice in the past 3 days - lunch. I like it a lot. The lunch special is reasonably priced and tasty. A small pizza, salad and drink is about $9. The Caesar salad was spot-on. Plus they have a big pizza oven blasting away behind the bar which helps a lot on sub-zero days like these. Service has been exceptional both visits - so it's a trend I think.

We liked the ambience here--seating not too crowded, dining room not too noisy, contemporary decor. Serving locally-sourced meats is also a huge plus, and my husband was happy with the local beer selection. The food was just okay, however. We split a large house salad and a meatball pizza (with the wood-fired crust), and we each had gelato for dessert, and I can't say anything was better than what I could either make at home or buy at the grocery store. I think Napoli and Pizzology have set our expectations for wood-fired pizza a bit high. Rockstone also offers several pastas and sandwiches on their menu, though, so I won't write them off just yet, and since we liked the ambience, it was worth the night out. Prices were reasonable.

Clean, casually upscale for a pizza joint - with more than just pizza, good service, and reasonably priced. They have a blackboard wall which has a daily wine and food as well as beer and food pairing special...or at least they did the day I was there. I did not have any adult beverages but did try one of their specialty pies (I think it was the Wiki Wahoo (Hawaiian)) and I thought it was pretty good. I'd eat there again.

Food, service, atmosphere, and beer selection are all worthy of a 5 star review. We were seated immediately and we didn't experience a single hiccup during our entire time at Rockstone. Their BBQ Chicken pizza is a winner and leftovers heat well the following day. I liked that their sauce on the BBQ pizza is a mixture of BBQ sauce and their house made tomato sauce. As other reviewers have said you simply must order the bread sticks. They give you a option of choosing two dipping sauces, but you'll be disappointed if you don't double down on the Pale Ale Chorizo Cheese. You could honestly eat this cheese dip with a spoon. I was slightly apprehensive when we ordered it; afraid that the chorizo would produce a greasy mess, but we cleaned out the dish so well with our bread sticks I'm not sure they needed to wash it afterward. Of note as well is that putting Pub in their full name was no mistake. They have 24 beers on tap and they range from local favorites to nitrous taps from far away lands. They also offer a modest wine list (including 2 Malbecs) and 40+ bottled beers. Excellent pizza, breadsticks, beer selection, and service. We will return.

Rockstone is the real deal. I visited around 10pm with 4 other guys after a long drive and were blown away by the awesome beer selection and happy hour menu. A whole menu with $2.50 options! After "pouring" over the beer menu at what seemed like 20 draft beers, I could barley choose from all the great options. Our waitress was excellent and was very knowledgeable. I ordered 2 of the mini za's (mini pizzas about 5-6") and an order of wings (3 for 2.50). We were able to pick any of their full-sized pizza combinations for our mini's (Buffalo chicken, BBQ chicken etc.) I can't wait to come back for a full dinner and more beer. Don't let the strip mall location fool you, the inside is very nicely designed and theres a huge area for 21+ folks to sit at the bar or at table/booths. Lots lot TV's too! A+

Mmmm Rockstone!! Ate here during Northside Nights and I'm very glad I did! We called ahead, but there was still a pretty substantial wait - probably due to the fact it was a Saturday night. The wait only told me that I had picked a good place, and it wasn't too bad because we hung out by the bar and ordered a few beers. Because it was Northside Nights, it was a prix-fix menu. We opted to have the breadsticks and goat cheese for our appetizers. Both were super good. I'd say the breadsticks won the round only because I thought the cracker/bread that came with the goat cheese dip was a bit odd - it was like a tortilla chip. Still good though. For our pizza we ordered the BBQ chicken and then another specialty pizza that had chorizo sausage on it. I thought the BBQ chicken pizza had a bit too much BBQ sauce on it - definitely preferred the chorizo pizza better, but it's all just in personal taste. I just prefer a lightly sauced pizza and next time I would request that. This place also had a ton of beers on tap which I enjoyed. The inside was nice although a bit small. I didn't think our service was impeccable, but they were crazy busy. I'd definitely go back again once Northside Nights is over and it had calmed down a bit. Overall, the food was really, really good and I was happy with my choice. Love me some pizza!

I've been going to Sahm's since I was very young so of course had to try Rockstone when it opened. The first time we went we had the breadsticks, pepperoni pizza and I had a veggie focaccia sandwich. All were very good but the sandwich was a little heavy for me. The breadsticks are thick and chewy -one was enough for me but the rest of the table happily ate the rest. We went back last weekend and had the spinach artichoke dip with homemade crackers, breadsticks and Archie B pizza. I got the pizza without meat and it's one of the best pizzas I've had in a long time. I couldn't wait to eat the pizza leftovers and the crackers were so unique and delicious. Both meals were different and great. Can't wait to explore the menu more.

Everything we have had here is good! We love (and crave) the pizza with shrimp and pistachios on it. Love those breadsticks! Great family place and couples place (they have a nice bar area- no kids). Cute decor.

We have had carry out at Rockstone a couple times and the restaurant was always so packed we couldn't wait to try a dinner there in person. It was well worth the wait! The pizza was delicious, my salad was yummy and my grandson had a great time too. The service was quick and friendly. The portions were just right. The beer selections were good too, plenty of choices but not too overwhelming. We'll be back.

If I was to open my own restaurant, it would be exactly like this. Local craft beer, and wood fired pizza. These are a few of my favorite things. The bartender, Matt, had a great personality and a ton of good suggestions. Up to, and including, a Schlafly milk chocolate stout float with ice cream. The pizza was amazing, best I've had in Indy! Can't recommend it enough, and we'll be regulars from now on

The 2 star rating refers to, "I've experienced better." The decor is nice. The beer selection is decent. The pizza was ok but too bland. Overall, that is what I would say about my experience - ok. A bit boring. Nothing that will excite me to return. I had a more gourmet beet salad and pizza at Blaze and it was a lot less expensive. My go-to salad is the beet salad so my expectations have been exceeded at several locations. This one was mediocre. Call ahead seating was nice option but not certain how much it moved us up in a line. When we were seated after 15 mins there was no one else in the lobby :) Flights are nice but I definitely didn't feel they had a grasp on the craft beer selections as far as descriptions, etc. The bread sticks were delicious. Fresh, hot, and buttery. If I would have stopped there probably would have been a 3.5 star. If you are meeting someone and just want a beer or app in this area it may be a meeting place. But would definitely pick another destination for dinner. If there was a 2.5 rating this would be more in that range.

I was pleasantly surprised at how good the food was here as I'm not a huge fan of Sahm's (I believe they are owned by the same people). My only complaint about the place was that the service was not very good. Our waiter was pretty inattentive and a little awkward, but the food was so good I overlooked the service. We ordered breadsticks to start. They were absolutely delicious as were the sauces that came with them (house tomato and mac daddy cheese). We also had greek salads which was my favorite part of the meal. I ordered mine with creamy gorgonzola and it was out of this world! The yogurt dressing was really good as well. I had the Wiki Wahoo pizza and my bf had the baked meatball pasta. The pizza was really good and had a really good kick to it with the chili oil. The pasta was good too even though I'm not a big meatball fan. I will definitely be back to Rockstone. The salad was one of the best I've had in a really long time and I would like to try more of their specialty pizzas. Give it a try!

Rockstone was fine, but I wasn't crazy about it. The design is neat. The wood-fired meatzorilla (meat lovers) pizza was pretty good. I liked that they offer Smoking Goose meat as toppings. The breadsticks with pale ale chorizo cheese sauce were OUTSTANDING. The 10 or so craft beers on tap were a nice touch. The service was good. Rockstone is worth a try if you've never been there, but it doesn't set itself apart from other similar pizza places in town (other than the dynamite cheese sauce for the breadsticks).

Rockstone is my new favorite pizza place! It's a great place to go with friends and have drinks. The pizza is fantastic, especially since it's cooked in a stone oven. I have always had pretty good service and the price is reasonable.

The wife and I visited Rockstone on a whim and were both very impressed! The menu was well-sized with tempting descriptions and we both thoroughly enjoyed our selections (meat & mushroom pizza for my wife, and chicken caprese salad for me). My wife tried the beer flight with a selection of seasonal pumpkin brews and I had some cold sake - our beverages were a great compliment to the food and were cleverly served (mine in a sleek, v-shaped stemless wine glass, hers on a board able to be written on as to display which beers were which). Service was efficient and friendly, and we noted that teamwork was utilized. Overall great experience! Planning to bring in some friends next time!

This is my second time to go to Rockstone and after another sub-par experience I am compelled to write a review. The positive Yelp reviews is what prompted us to go; so to my other Yelpers here is another opinion to add balance. The first time we went they screwed up our orders, but we thought the food was decent so we returned. The restaurant is not kid-friendly. We asked for crayons and paper. They gave our child a bunch of broken blue and purple crayons. And, then they had a coloring contest going on, but it seemed really shady not to mention all the pictures will be blue & purple. I asked the manager for details - what are the age groups, what do the kids win, when is the decision made, etc. He could not answer - so very ill-planned and managed. The food sucked and small portions. We got two of the wood-fired pizzas. They are basically the size of a personal pan pizza. The pizzas were burnt and tasted like charcoal. The staff is rude and unfriendly. We ironically had the same server as last time (who screwed up our order). She seemed overwhelmed even though there were hardly any customers on a Thursday night. We tried to chat and joke with her, but she just did not have the personality. Ditto for the manager. At the end of the day, the third time will not be the charm. We will not be returning. I will drive the extra mile to Napolese. Maybe it is just a place for drinks in the bar area since they pride themselves on the tap selection, wine list and sake (?).

Rockstone Pizzeria & Pub is a newer restaurant at 116th and Allisonville in Fishers, Indiana that has the potential to really catch on. The pub part of Rockstone Pizzeria & Pub features a great local beer list and the pizzeria part offers both wood-fired and traditional crust pizzas. Beyond that, they also serve starters, salads, sandwiches, pasta, and dessert. I went with their bread sticks as a starter and enjoyed them. They are doughy with more flavor than they look like they would have, and their dipping sauces are especially tasty. My favorite dipping sauce was the pale ale chorizo cheese sauce, followed by the house tomato sauce, and then the Mac Daddy cheese sauce, but, again, they were all very good. Naturally, I had to sample both Rockstone's wood-fired pizza and their traditional pizza. Surprisingly, I actually prefered their traditional one over the wood-fired, but they were both enjoyable pizzas. The traditional "Meatzorilla" was very flavorful, and I especially liked its crispy pepperoni. I also found its crust to be just as good, if not better, than the wood-fired margherita pizza's crust. Interestingly, the wood-fired pizza seemed to have a thicker and airier crust than the traditional one. I don't think you could really go wrong with any pizza at Rockstone Pizzeria & Pub though, and I would recommend it for a nice dine-in experience as the interior is fairly spacious.

Simply the best. While I love the 24 taps of craft brew that are constantly rotating (and we're talking the good stuff--Zombie Dust, Schlafly Imperial Bourbon Stout, Bourbon County (will be there next week), and many other rarities) and the food that has never disappointed, the real gem comes with the folks working behind the bar. Even when the place is packed out, service remains impeccable and with a smile. If you are a person interested in high quality pizza, pasta, and salads or you consider yourself a beer aficionado, Rockstone Pizzeria has to be on your short list of places to have dinner this evening. ProTip: Visit between 3-6pm or 9-close to enjoy their Happy Hour menu. At just $2.50 each, things like a Stickwich (a breakstick stuffed with pizza toppings) and customized dips/nachos really hit the spot.

Some of the best breadsticks in town, though the cheese sauce is a little too grainy for my taste (you can taste grated parmesan cheese in it). Lots of specialty pizzas. Good location.

Never a bad meal & have yet to have the same meal twice. Appetizers, good. Salads, generous with toppings & flavor. Pizza, excellent foodie choices. Pasta, baked goodness. Sandwiches, hot & filling. Wine, round the world choices. Good selection for vegetarians & choices for gluten free eaters including beers. Atmosphere: unassuming from the exterior yet clean, modern, spacious on the inside.

Guess our experience was a little better than the others. I'll agree the service was poor. The staff was ok, but very slow. If we dined on day two of the restaurant being open, I'm hoping they'll get the kinks out. We ordered 3 different pizzas, breadsticks, and dessert. They were all really good. The crust has good flavor, so does the sauce. The toppings are quality and flavorful. We also tried the S'mores pizza. It was great and our kids loved it. Overall what we ordered was good. This service needs to improve. We'll be coming back and have recommended the food to a few friends.

An interesting little place with a nice layout. A relaxed atmosphere with decent drink specials. Lots of screens for those who like to watch the game. Would be a nice candidate for a patio or outside seating. The kitchen is fairly visible. It appears clean; the majority of the kitchen workers appear to be POC's and or teenagers. This place is superior to the stacked pickle while it lacks competition insofar as sit down pizza places are concerned. The menu is fresh and varied, so do not misunderstand and take away that this place only does pizza. The front of the house are nice folk, although admittedly there was barely anyone there when I visited. I hope to come back for an entre.

After posting my poor review, a review based on MY POOR EXPERIENCE at Rockstone I received a message from the owner (I haven't had a chance to reply) and I ALSO received the following message from the owner's son: "Your comment was very strong about Rockstone. Sounds very valid and true. It's always a good sign when someone writes a review only 1 time, and it sounds like that. My dad worked very hard trying to open this restaurant, and while the service does need help, trolling a restaurant like that is not fair. Feel free to send me a message, your opinions are clearly very real and helpful, not hurtful in the least bit to a business only trying to do good things for the community. Well played troll. Eddie" I certainly appreciate the owner's family resorting to name-calling and personal attacks. That's a fantastic way to show customer service, seems like a fantastic way to build a business. But what would I know about service? Or a customer's expectations when it comes to their meal? I'm just a troll.

Went to Rockstone pizza on 5/10/14 after the Fishers Farmers Market and had a wonderful time. My mom and I met my cousin there for lunch. I picked the restaurant because their yelp rating was good and I was in the mood for a food adventure. I wasn't disappointed. Their menu is really wonderful. They have your traditional sandwiches, pizza and pasta like you'd expect at any pizzeria. But all had a gourmet flare using fresh, unique ingredients. The server was really nice and attentive. The atmosphere was wonderful. I especially loved their funny mural in the foyer. And I liked the semi open kitchen look so you could peak in and see all the energy of the chefs. We were there for over 2 hours catching up and were never made to feel either rushed or abandoned by our server. I recommend the Buff Chicken Sandwich on foccaccia. So yummy!

Hostess greeted us with a smile. Our server was attentive and kind. Started with the Chick Dip which my family all liked. We split the Chop-Chop salad which was fantastic. We ordered 3 different pizzas, both wood fired and traditional crust. The dough was outstanding! College football on the flat screens and 70's music playing just loud enough in the background. The managing partner Ryan came and visited our table and was excited abut their recent opening, which sounds "obvious" but as a Fisher's resident who has seen restaurants come and go ...this one is here to stay!

  • Desi C.

They must have worked the "kinks" out because our experience yesterday was fantastic. The servers were attentive and the food was great. We had a chopped salad and pepperoni, mushroom, and onion pizza. The chopped salad was fantastic, and between my husband and myself, splitting a small chopped salad was quite enough for both of us. The pizza was GREAT. All fresh ingredients, and you could taste it!! The crust has a great flavor to it, which just adds to the overall fantastic taste. We loved it here and will be back! Just so u know, my husband and I are not ur "typical" Applebee-eating kinda peeps. We're from Chicago, so quality is important to us. For reference, our favorite pizza place is Pizzology in Carmel. Give this place a try, u won't regret it!

We went to Rockstone 1 week after they opened. Despite the decent sized crowd waiting for a table, we were seated immediately in a back dining room where they were seating all of the families with kids. There is a big separation between the bar and the dining room so if kids aren't your thing, not to worry, you won't have to deal with them too much. Our order of breadsticks came out immediately. I mean, within minutes of ordering but they were extremely hot and fresh. They come with two dipping sauces, house marinara and a cheese sauce called "mac daddy" sauce that they also use for the kids mac and cheese. Both sauces seemed made in house and were very good. The beer selection was also surprisingly good and the pints are generally $5.50 each. So how's the pizza? That's where things get interesting. There were at least 5 pizzas on the menu we wanted to try but we went with their Goose pizza which featured all Smoking Goose meats. However, our pizza went to another table. Instead of just letting us think they were taking a long time with our order, our waitress told us exactly what happened which I really appreciated. Then the manager came out with our pizza to go since our 4 yr old was done with dinner and ready to leave. They comped our entire meal (including the beer) and made every effort possible to correct the issue. They even replied to my tweets at 1:30 in the morning after they had closed. We reheated the pizza at home on our pizza stone and it was on par with Napolese Dirty South pizza. High quality ingredients and a well made crust. The 10" are perfect to split if you order some appetizers beforehand or as an individual pizza if you're really hungry. Despite the issues we had, the food was good and their team did a great job. We'll be heading back soon to try it again.

Had another delicious dinner last night. The staff is friendly. The service is exceptional. The food is beyond compare. You have to get The Goose! It's amazing. With locally sourced meat, yummy sauce, and just enough heat, you won't be disappointed. My favorite thing on the menu is the Spinartigoat Dip. I could eat it daily! It comes with homemade crackers and is a great twist on a favorite. My husband and I always get a second pizza. We are trying to get through the menu and since The Goose is always a must, we try a second wood-fired pie. This time it was the margherita. The roasted tomatoes were a delicious spin. Make your way to the best pizza in central Indiana at Rockstone!!!

Service was slow and sloppy, but was significantly better than the food. We had the spinach, artichoke and goat cheese app, with little or none of the last two. It's like someone thawed a frozen spinach block, added half an artichoke and half covered it with cheese. Pizza was not even average, won't be back.

I think Rockstone is delicious! Everything I've had there has been great. The pork pizza, their salads, and beer/wine selection have all been wonderful. The service has always been pretty decent too. I like that there are tvs to catch a game. I love that it's so close to home. Just the kind of place Fishers needed.

Fantastic pizza. The brick oven baked crust was just super! I figured I'd try something different and made the mistake of ordering a specialty pizza with Gorgonzola cheese. I didn't like that so much. But not their fault. I do wish we lived in the area, we'd be back again in a heartbeat.

We have seen this place for awhile but wasn't sure about it since it was in a strip mall. Finally decided to give it a try last night with some friends. Amazing! Great beer and wine selection. We had the Northside Night combo with breadsticks, salad and pizza. The Mac Daddy sauce with breadsticks were soooo good! The wood fire pizzas are definitely the way to go. Great atmosphere, great drinks, delicious food! We WILL be back!

Fantastic pizza joint operated by the same family who owns the Sahm's empire. Great choice of beers, super-friendly service, and delicious food. (OK, I wasn't a fan of the s'mores pizza for dessert or the fact that s'mores gained an accent mark on the menu.) The spinach-artichoke dip is served with addictive wood-fired crackers. The gorgonzola salad is perhaps overdressed, but fortunately, I like it that way. (And the salads are huge -- ask to split one, and they'll bring you a single salad divided on two separate plates. It's terrific!) The pizzas all sounded good -- we went with the Archie B., which had a nice kick -- and the crusts are amazing: perfectly crispy on the bottom and then light as air. (They also serve sandwiches and a few pastas.) The place is a bar, so there is not much atmosphere, and TVs are everywhere. There's a pretty attractive stone wall in the hallway between dining areas, and they display local art, but the large mural right inside the front door is insane. I have no idea what it is supposed to be -- it looks like some kind of take-off on The Flintstones, perhaps as a nod at the restaurant's name -- but it is definitely an eyesore.

Visiting from San Francisco and I can honestly say that this is the best gluten-free pizza that I've ever tasted (it's an allergy for my family). Best of all, my gluten-fine Huz and grandson said their regular pizza was excellent. Rare to get both at the same time in the same place. Will definitely make this place a regular stop when we visit the Grands. Shout out to Kaleigh -- who moved like greased lightening to refill our glasses and make sure we had everything else we needed. A solid 5 stars.

  • Matt O.

As far as pizza places go, this place is very solid and I will definitely be back. The toppings on our pizzas were all very fresh and the dough was delicious. It was light but slightly crispy from the wood fired oven and had great chew. The bread sticks might have stole the show however and the house tomato sauce for dipping in is great! We had no problems with service or speed and I look forward to trying more of their specialty pizzas soon. At heart I'm a traditionalist when it comes to pizza, but a place that can wow me with their own kind of pies is fine too. And when it comes down to it, what's better than pizza and beer? Well played sir, well played...

Very tasty pizza. I tried both the regular crust and the whole wheat, both were good but I preferred the regular crust. I tried the Roast Pork Pie pizza, and loved the combination of pulled pork, caramelized onions and dijon sauce. Will be back to try other combinations and a salad.

We checked out Rockstone for our date night. Our wait on a Saturday night was minimal (even though the place was hopping!) Great "local pub with friendly faces" atmosphere (would NOT recommend or families with kids- however they do offer take out). We had the Pork Pie pizza : FANTASTIC! A little spicy, a little sweet, and the pork was delicious. Would recommend this to our friends!

Stopped in after running errands on Sunday. Pleasantly surprised by the great quality of the food. My wife had a sandwich made with restaurant baked bread. The waiter suggested a raspberry beer that was excellent. Lots of craft beers on the menu for those who Really like micro brewed beer. Add good service and we will be going back soon.

So we decided to stop in here instead of going to sahms. Walked right in and got a table on a Sunday afternoon. We have a son wony a serious dairy allergy and they were outstanding about answering four questions. Great big bar up front and nice film area in back with plenty of tables and TVs. Menu is outstanding and so many choices. Pizza is the thing to eat here and their selection is wonderful for toppings. Son had pizza and he loved it. Wife hot the meatball sandwich with a salad and says two thumbs up. I got a sandwich and loved it. We are coming back. Ordered the s'mores pizza for desert and got it to go.

What an excellent place! First off if you like good beer they have TONS of local and not so local craft brews including Bier, Sun King, Fountain Square, Founders, Left Hand Brewing Co, etc. at reasonable prices. Not quite the selection of say Ale Emporium but having Bier alone makes it easily worth a visit for us. Second their food was fantastic and they we were very pleased with their one appetizer, two salad, two entree deal at $30. The bread stick appetizer we purchased was good with fantastic fresh cheddar and tomato dips. The rockstone salads we ordered were gorgeously presented (far beyond what we'd expect from a 'pub') and the gorgonzola dressing was delicious. Last but not least the two 10in pizzas we got were also very, very good. The service was also incredibly good and struck the perfect balance between being well taken care of but feeling constantly harassed by the wait staff. It seems like some reviews on here really dinged the place for service, but it was pretty busy when we got there and we were immediately seated and waited on soon after. It seemed like any service kinks they had closer to opening day must have been worked out to us. We really can't say enough good things about our first trip here, we just hope it is as good on our next visit!

Great place for wood fire pizza with gourmet topings. My 10 inch pizza with cheese is just $7.50. I don't drink beer but everyone else apparently does and their craft beers seem to be top notch. And great TVs. Don't forget to try the Gelato rootbeer float.

Best surprise I've had in a long time. Saw the place a couple weeks ago when we were going to sahms next door. Finally got to try it today. Took great care of us...beer recommendations were perfect. Pizza really good...chorizo cheese for breadsticks also really really good. Top to bottom they were great. Only complaint is that they aren't closer to my house.

Was visiting from Los Angeles. Was looking for a good spot to eat with family to celebrate an occasion. Read the reviews and decided to try this place out. We really enjoyed it. It was pretty quiet but the food and service met our expectations. Would definitely go again.

Great beer selection, good food. Friendly, personable staff, even when they're busy it was fun to hang out and wait for a table. Delicious pasta dishes and pizza...absolutely no complaints!

Ordered to go tonight, took about 15 minutes. Got the BBQ pizza and a pepperoni wood grill pizza. Pepperoni pizza was perfect, and BBQ really good also. BBQ more a sweet taste, my fiance wasn't crazy about it. Also ordered nutella nuggets, which were just okay. Would absolutely go again!

The wood fired pizzas were excellent! Fast service, great beer selection, didn't have to wait to be seated... Ill definitely be back! The decor and atmosphere is impressive. The prices aren't bad either. I highly recommend the s'mores pizza as well! I have been very satisfied with all of Sahms restaurants. You can tell that they care about customers and use high quality ingredients. You have a loyal customer here!

Great wood fired pizza! Great friendly staff who are happy to serve you. I live the classic trio pizza and the Greek salad. The quality of the food and service stands above other restaurant ! Oh...check out the beer list!

Have to agree with Derek M. Service was terrible and the food even worse. The avocado and lettuce in the chicken avocado salad were mushy and brown. The chicken was cold and bland. Despite having tables in the bar area, we were seated in the back room which was full of screaming children. Was really hoping it would be a great neighborhood restaurant with a good atmosphere. Definitely needs work and we won't be back.

I've been here 3-4 times since the place opened. I love the cozy bar atmosphere and the great beer and wine selection...and there is no overpriced drugstore wine on their wine list! I like that you can order different sizes of these beverages as well. The first time I had the wood-fired pizza it was excellent. The next two times I returned for the pizza the bottom crusts were badly burned. The servers and bartenders were very attentive during each of my visits. Overall, I really like this place and will be back.

This was our first time at Rockstone and we were not disappointed. From the time that the host opened the door for me to when we got the bill, the service was excellent. After reading some of the previous reviews it seemed liked service might have been and issue. That being said, the kinks have been worked out. Every one I spoke to there was eager to serve and really made for a great customer experience. BJ at the the bar was fantastic and made my bar experience like I was a regular even though it was my first time. They had great taps of craft beer but all were served without pretense or arrogance the next recommendation was perfect predicated on my previous pour. When we were seated, Ben was our server and he was amazing. We had a segmented group and Ben handled the plates and bill with aplomb. His service was attentive but not intrusive and I would ask to be seated in his section again upon my return. I ordered the Mac Daddy mac n cheese and it was sublime. I would crawl over a dead body for more of this! In the end, the service from every side of the house was excellent, the food was great and I can't wait to get back again. Thank you BJ and Ben for delivering a fun and rewarding customer experience.

Went here on a whim for lunch. Food is quite tasty, and they have a great local beer list. The decor and open style kitchen is calming and modern at the same time. There is a separate room for under 21 dining. I haven't seen it, so I'm not sure how it is in that area.

My wife and I tried this for the first time Monday evening. We got seated immediately and our server appeared just as quick. They were not real busy - about 1/3 full in the front area, but our service was quite slow. That being said, the food was good. The bread sticks were amazing - definitely my favorite. The pizza was good - better than average, but nor outstanding. The plain cheese sauce that comes with the bread sticks is not something I would recommend. The chorizo cheese sauce on the other hand is excellent. Definitely give it a shot, you will not be disappointed.

I have dined at Rockstone 4 times in two weeks. The food is outstanding and the type of pizzeria Fishers has needed for years. Every menu item we've had has been fresh, hot and delicious. Im not sure what servers others are talking about but we have had 4 different servers and they have all been very pleasant and courteous . Rockstone has the best tasting crust I have ever had. We will definitely be back and have referred a lot of friends and family and they have all had the same great experience we have had.
