My parents live a mile down the road and I have been visiting here since they moved to town 6 years ago. I give it a three star rating and not the one star it deserves from my last visit because I have gone and had great service before. The salsa is fantastic and the chips are always hot and fresh. However in the past year it has gone down hill and I am unsure why. Our waiter could barely speak english and was struggling with all the orders and tables he had. He forgot things and also seemed to forget about us. We sat for 15 long minutes staring at the remains of our food with him walking by multiple times and no attempt to clear our plates or ask if we wanted our empty drinks refilled. He finally arrived, and brought our check, leaving without any of our plates. It belonged to someone else. Now $17 for three entrees, a pitcher, guac, queso and pico would be a fantastic steal but we still let him know it was not our bill. He seemed very confused and then 10 minutes later reappeared (our table is still not cleared mind you) with another bill. This time for $29 and omitting all our sides and alcohol. We waited around for him and when it was clear he was not coming, paid and left. We are now looking for a new place to dine on mexican food and as there are a few new places in the area I do not see us returning to El Rodeo anytime soon.

Used to be a fan, but not so much anymore. Waited 40 minutes for food that came out cold and burnt. Waitress only stopped at the table twice, once to drop off drinks and once to drop off the check. Manager excuse was they were busy, but it wasn't very busy at all.

Bad attitudes and overcharged on the bill. We ordered the special and were charged full price. Also ordered 3 plain tacos and were charged $9.99 With so many other great Mexican restaurants in the area we will never go back to El Rodeo! If you decide to try this one make sure your bill is correct.

Waited over 10 minutes to be acknowledged and I sat at the bar. Margaritas tasted like mixer and cleaning solution. Had to ask twice for my check, they didn't understand my English. The salsa and chips were great!

Tastes like all the other Mexican restaurants. I feel like the only way to set yourself a part in the Mexican restaurant world is salsa. If you have great salsa, then you get great reviews.

This place is not too bad. Food is okay. Really though, some things are great, and others aren't so much. The queso blanco is great. Stands out from others. Their regular salsa is the same as anyone elses. Along with 90% of their menu. It just seems like any other Mexican restaraunt around. Oh well. But the good value, along with great margaritas and queso, give it an above average 3.75, or as my rating shows, a rounded-up 4.

Pros: food is pretty decent Indiana-Mexican food, cheap margs Cons: horrible service when we went I might have to go back to see if the horrible service was a fluke or how this place generally operates, but honestly I probably won't ever be back. We came in on a Sunday night hoping to grab a quick bite and a few drinks. We ended up waiting for drinks to come, for chips to be refilled and for our waiter to bring our check. We spent a good deal of our time here trying to flag down someone (anyone!) to help us find our waiter or get us our bill. Eventually I went to the host and told him we had been waiting 15 minutes for someone to clear our plates and bring a check. He didn't do anything or find our waiter so after a bit we just walked up to the cashier and said "Sorry, we have no bill but we want to leave" and he grabbed our waiter. I'd say come here if you're looking for some decent food and aren't too irritated by not having drinks refilled or anyone check up on you after they drop off the food. If you've got the time to spare, check it out; otherwise, just steer clear!

Great place. I love that this place has horchata! Makes me feel at home in my Mexican neighborhood from Chicago. They would have a 5th star if they offered mole. Good food!

Not a huge fan but we had a hankering for Mexican and this was just right down the street. The menu is huge. Food portions are standard. Food tastes gross. How do all Mexican restaurants slather everything in red or white sauce but they all taste so different? Who knows. I don't typically consume as much Mexican as I have in the past two weeks as it is not my favorite but I can say with a firm voice that I would not return to this particular El Rodeo. Service is also super slow and there weren't many people in the restaurant. They do seem to have decently priced beverage specials but that is the only special thing I can note about El Rodeo unfortunately.

Of all of the Mexican places in the Fishers area, this ranks pretty near the top. The salsa is perfection, but the queso leaves something to be desired. There are pretty significant beer specials everyday and the house margarita is one of my favs!!! Plus, it can all be enjoyed outdoors on a beautiful summer evening...........what are you waiting for?!?!?!

Mexican Cuisine

If you enjoy Taco Tuesday, then you have officially fallen in love with the Mexican Food. The main grain of Mexican cuisine is maize. Also known as corn, maize is grown for the past 9000 years after the crop was discovered by the people in Mayan civilization. Mexican empire flourished when they started growing beans, tomatoes, chili pepper, sweet potato and cactus. Till this date these ingredients are used in cooking authentic Mexican dishes and drinks.

Great use of spices, fresh chili pepper dishes like fajitas, tortilla chips, corn chips, salsa, chimichangas, burritos, nachos and quesadillas are invented in America. But when you are looking for authentic Mexican food then you must find a restaurant in the city that serves Rajas con Queso, Garbanzo in a Guajillo Chile Sauce, Pork Filled Chiles Rellenos, Chiles en Nogada, Molcajete Salsa, Pico de Gallo and Frijoles de la Olla. An eye-opening fact – Mexican don't like their food hot. They use fresh chili and other spices to create a flavor that lingers in your mouth.

Mexican food is great for those who are Gluten Intolerant as they use Corn instead of wheat in most of their dishes. Also, you can easily find many beans based Mexican dishes. Another dish which didn't get similar glory as tacos or nachos is the Mexican hot chocolate. If you love something hot on a chilly day, then go for Mexican Hot Chocolate. On merry days, you can enjoy the authentic Mexican Drinks like Tequila, Mezcal, Tecuí, Sotol, Bacanora, Charanda, Posh O Pox, Puebla and Pulque. Mexican Cuisine is for people who enjoy strong drinks and hearty meals.
