Nice little coffee shop! Good coffee with varieties. The breakfast sandwiches were delicious, although a little on the small size. The muffins & coffee cake were tasty and moist. Nice decor & atmosphere. Super nice employees.

Cappuccino is good but tastes more like a latte. ( I wish it came in a real cup) The blueberry scone is fresh, hot, crispy and delicious served with whipped cream.

Okay coffee, okay tea! I was expecting a bit more inviting of an atmosphere. The barista behind the desk was nice, but didn't go out of her way to create any experience different than other coffee shops. When asked for advice on a drink, she didn't really have any. Just kind of mumbled about how they're all good. Overall, I probably would stop back in if I needed a drink and was driving through town again. I was just hoping for more of a quaint, cute coffee shop experience that made me want to always stop back in judging by the looks of the shop. Instead, I left feeling pretty "meh".

Java Bean is a pretty good little coffee cafe located in the heart of downtown Decatur. The owners are friendly and make sure to acknowledge their customers. You can definitely tell who the regulars are in the cafe, as the employees recognize many by name and spend time talking with them. Regular coffee options offered that I have seen frequently would include Wolfgang Puck's "Jamaican Me Crazy", a House Blend, Traverse City Cherry, as well as others. Besides brewed coffee, the cafe offers lattes, mochas, expresso, and other coffee beverages that can be served hot or chilled. I have even noticed smoothies on the menu. The cafe offers a variety of pastries which appear to be hommade. The Java Bean also serves sandwiches which are fairly decent. My wife and I have only tried breakfast sandwiches, but we have noticed that lunch options also exist. This location offers a punch card to those who frequent the cafe. Once you receive ten punches, you earn a free coffee beverage. Sometimes service can be a little slow, especially if the cafe is really busy. If you are in a hurry to get out the door, you may want to consider leaving the house just a tad bit earlier to make a stop here. The last two or three times, I had to wait for some regular coffee to finish brewing and be replenished. And of course, if you get a breakfast sandwich or pastry, that takes a bit more time too. Half and half is available upon request. Thanks Java Bean! I think I will swing by in the morning and pick up a cup of joe.
