Great pizza! Great atmosphere! What more could you ask for. Also, they occasionally have a good band that will pack the place. And I should add that they recently started a free taco bar on Thursdays incase you needed another reason to go.

The Old 27 in Decatur,Indiana. We went through the drive-thru today. Service was friendly and the wait was acceptable. The ice cream was great. The waffle cones were fresh. The first dip is $2. The second dip is $1.50. It is an additional $0.50 for a waffle cone. They also have milkshakes and sundaes, but I'm not sure what they cost.

Another couple had bid on a chef's tasting dinner at Marko's and my wife and I "volunteered" to go along and try a restaurant we had never been to. It turned out to be a great experience. Marco's is located across from the court house in downtown Decatur. Inside, a large carved wood bar dominates. There are booths in the main room and an additional dining room to the left. The pace has a well-worn but clean and attractive look. The tasting menu began with a soup that our friends said was excellent. The second course was a fish called char, with Brussels sprouts and other vegetables grilled like the fish. Excellent, flavorful, with the fish cooked just the right amount to remain moist. Then came a beef filet rubbed with coffee. The meat was very good and the rub creative. Our side of the table ordered from the menu. We had an excellent shrimp cocktail followed by a mediocre chopped salad. While the salad's presentation was good, there was too little lettuce, compared with the toppings, and it's crispness was fading. Our entree was scallops over pork belly. The scallops were delicious, and when you order pork belly, you know you're getting a lot of fat. This was fine for our tasting experience, but if I was just having my entree, I would feel like I could eat a little more. In our case the "little more" was dessert. We all had white chocolate bread pudding with vanilla ice cream. We're not big bread pudding fans, but this dessert would score big time in any food capital. The ice cream was flavored with a rich exotic vanilla and had the texture of frozen cream. The top of the bread pudding had a caramelized frosting that added a delicious crunch to the moist bread pudding beneath. If I hadn't been sharing from other plates all along, I would have helped clean 3 other desert plates. If you're not from Decatur, this place is worth the drive.
Always a treat to eat at Marko's. I have never been disappointed. Our meals have been excellent and the service is wonderful. Try a martini after your meal!
Had the fried green tomatoes, tomato bisque and main entree was the ribeye and fries...all excellent. Great atmosphere...very NYC like restaurant. Service was pleasant and attentive. Nice find while here in Amish country where there aren't many fine dining options...this hits the mark.

Nice little coffee shop! Good coffee with varieties. The breakfast sandwiches were delicious, although a little on the small size. The muffins & coffee cake were tasty and moist. Nice decor & atmosphere. Super nice employees.
Cappuccino is good but tastes more like a latte. ( I wish it came in a real cup) The blueberry scone is fresh, hot, crispy and delicious served with whipped cream.
Okay coffee, okay tea! I was expecting a bit more inviting of an atmosphere. The barista behind the desk was nice, but didn't go out of her way to create any experience different than other coffee shops. When asked for advice on a drink, she didn't really have any. Just kind of mumbled about how they're all good. Overall, I probably would stop back in if I needed a drink and was driving through town again. I was just hoping for more of a quaint, cute coffee shop experience that made me want to always stop back in judging by the looks of the shop. Instead, I left feeling pretty "meh".

Friendly, dependable, and a great lunch buffet. This pizza spot has outlasted all other pizza joints in Decatur. What does that say about the local economy? I'll leave that to you, but this Pizza Hut is the best in the biz in Decatur.

I grew up in Decatur but rarely ever stopped into the Back 40. I always knew it as a place you went for a 'special' meal. It has always been very well known in the area. I have been away from Decatur for almost 10 years now and my parents took my fiance and I there for a celebration dinner with them. I have always loved the feeling the place has. From the wall murals to the country store, it always feels so comforting and there is always something to look at. Our server was very friendly and made sure that we did not have any questions. She checked in on us often (but not too much). I am not exactly one for a buffet (because I eat too much) but this one offers so many good choices that it is hard to resist. There are really four different areas: Salad bar, Breads/Soups/Cheeses, Hot Dishes (veggies, potatoes, meats, starches) and Desserts. All of the food was still hot and overall, good. My favorite thing was the orange bread. I highly recommend having at least one piece. In my opinion, you can really eat your money worth here. If you go away hungry, it is your fault! As we drove home, my fiance made this comment, "We need to go to places like this more often!" We both enjoyed it.
Talk about fun! Don't be fooled by the rustic, railway car exterior - Back 40 Junction is a true delight. From the moment you're greeted by the bubbly hostess to the time you're ready for dessert, this restaurant delivers A+ service. Back 40 reminds me of Old Country Buffet with its rural theme and country store, but that's where the similarities end. Back 40 has one of the best buffets in the area. Friday night's All-You-Can-Eat Seafood buffet provided enough variety for the pickiest of eaters. There were king crab legs, peel & eat shrimp, fried shrimp, calamari, and clams along with two types of fish. Meats included: prime rib, ham, beef brisket, and fried chicken. Steamed vegetables, mashed potatoes, and chicken & dumplings rounded out the hot table. There's also a cheese bar and salad bar complete with enough toppings to make a meal. The dessert selections were awesome! There was bread pudding with rum sauce, Blondies, rhubarb cobbler, and seven flavors of hand-dipped ice cream. I could tell that the staff at Back 40 took pride in their jobs. We were greeted promptly and seated within 20 minutes (not bad for a Friday night.) Upon arriving at our table, our server (after learning it was our first time) took us on a tour. She never let our drink fall below half way and whisked away our plates just as soon as we were finished. The woman serving the prime rib was engaging and converational and the woman serving the hand-dipped ice cream was just as friendly. I'm giving Back 40 five stars because the food was impeccable and service top-notch. It's a great place for couples out on a first date, couples who need time away for themselves, or a group celebrating a birthday.
Seafood buffet on Friday night featuring all you can eat crab legs, prime rib, shrimp, clams and ham. Salad bar was stocked quite well with multiple choices of ingredients. I did not have much room lefft for desserts, but I sampled a few of the choices. They were all good. They had an attendant there to dip the ice cream out for you. They had about 8 different flavors and it seemed to be a high quality ice cream. Price for the seafood buffet was $21.95. Apparently the buffet is less on other nights.

My husband and I frequently get take out from here. Our standard order is baked ham and bbq pizza with their garlic breadsticks. The breadsticks are just the standard thin breadsticks brushed with a garlic butter and are served with cheese sauce. They're decent. Now the pizza. I love it. We always get the baked ham and bbq. Ham is sliced thin and you get several pieces on each slice and covered in cheese. The BBQ sauce has a slight kick to it. The crust is the perfect thickness and cooked perfectly. Our orders are always consistent and hot when we pick them up. Definitely a must try for take out if you're in the area.
Salad bar is pretty weak. All they have is shredded iceberg lettuce. Only 3 or 4 kinds of pizza on the buffet. Cheese, weird shredded pepperoni, supreme, and hamburger.
Delicious thin crust pizza. Nice variety of toppings and a flavorful sauce. They offer a lunch buffet, it is small, but the staff takes care to keep it filled. The salad bar is included in the lunch buffet. Great bread sticks with cheese dip. Desert pizza, pasta & sandwiches are also on the menu. Friendly staff & great service. Small town charm & locally owned.

Friendly staff, clean & cozy with a lot of small town charm. Menu consists of a lot of fried foods. Not a lot of alternative options if you are not a fan of deep fried items. A large pie selection to choose from. The Carmel Apple pie is terrific.
I've been going to the west end for years. They have great home cooked meals and a friendly staff. I might add that their fish is the best around, though it can be soggy at times. I'd give them 5 stars if they would set the fish on a strainer so that the fish wasn't so saturated in grease on the bottom. Great place regardless.
Stopped in for lunch. Pleasantly surprised with the meal. Great food, lots of choices, and reasonable pricing. I may go back for supper!
