Absolutely amazing! Came here last night and had Veal with a mushroom Gorgonzola sauce and homemade mashed potatoes and a Banana Napoleon for dessert. My server, Amy, said I should come back to try their spinach dip & the other entree I was considering: bison burger with bleu cheese on a pretzel bun, so I did. Erica and Amanda were very knowledgeable - fantastic staff & incredible food! This place is a gem worth a detour, if you're anywhere within a few hours drive!

I've eaten a couple times while I was in Culver. The food was excellent and the menu had a good variety of choices. The pear ravioli was unique and tasty. The salad that I had the previous night was nothing particularly special, but it was still good. The atmosphere was classier than one might expect for a small town, without being formal. Be sure to save room for dessert. I had the berry cobbler one night, and a volcano cake the next. Both were delicious and Goldilocks sized (not too big, not too small). I ended up gaining weight from my trip to Culver between Corndance, Cafe Max and Edgewater, but it was worth it.

The unexpected dishes at this restaurant were the real treat of the evening. The pad Thai noodles, broccoli soup and bison bites were exquisite. Even better than the food was the excellent service and spot on recommendations of seasoned bartender, Maggie. Don't pass up her suggestion to make your good night great.

Last night we went for dinner and left unhappy. First, they were out of bison and the roasted pheasant, which we found out after we ordered. Then, one of us ordered the seafood risotto which was $26. It was supposed to have lobster, crab, and sausage. When it got to the table it was risotto with seafood mixed in. There were only 3 small pieces of lobster, and a few pieces of sausage. I never saw any crab in it. For $26 we could have had a nice steak dinner instead of this tasteless and skimpy dish. When we told our waitress she went and spoke to the manager and offered us a desert to take home for free. We accepted the Nutella cheesecake. I thought this was a nice gesture until we opened the box and saw that the cheesecake was small enough to be eaten in one bite. We visit culver every year and next year I definitely won't be returning to Corndance. You definitely get better service and more for your money at other restaurants in town.

We go there a few times a year - our daughter is at the Academy - and, while it is better than you would expect in rural Indiana, they could do with a little more dynamism on the menu. And it is a little pricey. And very loud, I don't quite know why. It can be quite a racket.

Absolute great service & food! Easy to forget your in a small town in Indiana. Great selection for the specials, the menu is amazing & a great wine selection! You find your self in this area and don't stop, it's almost sinful! Enjoy!

Disappointingly underwhelming, considering Corndance in Mishawaka is the best restaurant in South Bend area. Server didn't make any major mistakes, but several minor ones in a row, which never adds to the dining experience; but fix that, and it still would have been underwhelming. Place is much more casual than anticipated, again odd because of my experience w the Mishawaka location. Crab Rangoon appetizer was quite good, Caesar salad was pretty tame, our entrees were again sort of bland; bison burger was an ok burger, crab cakes were just crab cakes. Nothing wrong with the food, but it wasn't anything special; for a town like Culver, it is a decent restaurant, but there is another nice restaurant in town that is much, much better. For that price I expected much better food and service...it wasn't unpleasant but it wasn't special, and I was expecting much more from my experiences in Mishawaka.

We just had the most spectacular pheasant dish here. We hunt pheasants and are constantly on the lookout for good recipes. This was GREAT the best we have ever had!The waitress said the sauce was cranberries and cognac. It was to die for! And it came with wonderful mashed potatoes and roasted veggies. I would drive here from Chicago just to have this! We also had crab agnolotti which was also very good but was overshadowed by the pheasant. But still highly recommended! Specials change but there are always many great choices. They have their own bison farm and the bison specials are also very good.

The Corndance Cafe in Culver, Indiana used to be our favorite restaurant in the area. However, over the past two years, especially since the owners opened another restaurant in Mishawaka, Indiana, the place has steadily declined in the quality of the food and menu selections, while the price has steadily risen. On our last visit, the drinks were especially disappointing. I would give the bartender a one star at best. My husband ordered a double Manhattan and it was served in a large beverage class filled to overflow with ice, and very little Bourbon. A double does not mean double the class size and double the ice, it means a double shot of Bourbon! He had to take a large chunk of ice out of the class before he could even take a sip and the class was still completely full of ice. I ordered wine and the pour as extremely small. They previously served wine in individual carafe which was a standard size pour. Now they don't serve it in the carafe and the pour was about half the size it used to be, and the price was higher. The menu selections are old and boring and the prices keep going up for the same old stuff. The food is consistently over salted. We have complained about this in the past and I heard others in the restaurant complaining about the same thing. The table behind us order the Sword of John Adams which on this night as basically a bison hamburger for $ 24.00 and they complained that all they could taste was salt. We have alway enjoyed this restaurant and the atmosphere but we will not go back again. They have had many opportunities to improve and just keep getting worse. The owners need to either pay attention to this restaurant and quit treating it like the ugly stepsister of the Mishawaka restaurant or close the doors.

We were pleasantly surprised. Food was good. Chicken fingers and a steak salad. Salad very good with little medallions of fillet. Busy on a Monday night but no problems. The menu is broad in terms of variety of entrees, prices. Very creative specials. Too bad we live 2,000 miles away.

I couldn't review Corndance and give them less than 5 stars. If 10 stars were an option they'd get them. We have been coming here for over 10 yrs, and I truly have never had a bad meal. I worked here for a summer back in college and seeing the kitchen made me love it more than I already did...that's not normal! No pre-made anything. We ate here tonite and agreed that from everything from drinks to dessert comprise some of the best meals we've ever eaten. The filet is the best I've ever had, including Ruth's Chris, St. Elmo's, and Flemings. If you like pasta, make sure you ask for the Penne ala Toscana...even though it's not a menu item in the summer, it's a pasta I crave when I'm not in Culver. 100% the best place to eat in town. Will be going back tomorrow morning for brunch:)

We had heard wonderful things about Corndance, so we decided to drive over from Warsaw to celebrate our anniversary with a nice dinner out. meh. It was OK, but not as good as the reviews played it up to be. The food was interesting in that they do some unusual dishes, but I felt it was a bit contrived and certainly overpriced. Waitstaff was nice, but seemed a bit inexperienced and not very knowledgable about the dishes on the menu. Sorry, but we've got three great restaurants in Warsaw that are better and less expensive and don't entail a two hour round trip.

If you happen to find yourself surrounded by high stalks of corn and miles of green fields, you may be in Indiana and you must eat here. Amazing food, great ambiance, and wonderful staff. This is the type of place you order appetizer, entree, and dessert. On the fancy side (although you can dress business-casual) so remember to bring your credit card, but well worth it.

Bison meatloaf sliders, with home grown bison. What fun! A dandy place to eat in Culver. We have yet to have a disappointing mask here.

It's ok, but not someplace I would go out of my way for. When I'm in town it's the only place I eat at with associates, due to a lack of options. I've found every restaurant in Culver is overpriced and overrated. You can find much better options elsewhere, but there isn't much else in a 30 mile radius. If you want to drive to Culver to drive around the lake, maybe (I'd rather drive along Lake Michigan to see the houses), but eat before you leave home. It is not a dinner's destination.

A bit pricey, but great food good house wine. Owned by the chef so the emphasis on quality and local ingredients is high.

Good location wonderful staff. Food is really quite original, prices are a bit steep but the experience is worth it. I didn't realize going in that it is a chain restaurant, it certainly doesn't give off that vibe. They have a wall full of nightly specials, serving size is good.

The other reviewers do not give this place enough credit. I have gone there both in very busy times and in quiet times, and it's consistent. It is more expensive than many might like--entrees are at least $20.00. If you go with the specials, you will not be disappointed. The wait staff is very professional. The atmosphere is very pleasant, parking is easy, and you can count on a great meal. In such a seasonal community, I think that's more than what one can expect.

I've dined at the Corndance many times. This past weekend I was there eating and my husband bit down on a shard of glass in his meal. We informed our waiter who sent over, Tammy, the manager. She was unappologetic and insulting. The only thing she was worried about was payment. I will never return and would not recommend this restaurant.

What a great little local secret! Went with my cousins for a girls night out and this was the perfect place. The specials were all unique...ordered a goat cheese appetizer that was out of this world..a perfect blend of goat cheese, garlic, olives , artichokes, sun dried tomatoes, basil...??? served with a crispy bread. Ordered a raspberry margarita, ok ...actually ordered 2. For dinner, pear ravioli, this was sweet, so if you don't like sweet this is not for you. I even thought this would be great as an appetizer. For dessert the 3 of us split a chocolate volcano in a cherry drizzle. Just perfect for ending the evening.

Probably the best restaurant in the area, but it's not that good. The food is satisfactory, but not great. I think the residence feel like it's a precious find, but it's not. Don't expect your best meal, or even close to your best meal. If you are stuck in the Culver area, it's a decent restaurant and that's about it. Don't give it more credit beyond that!

This restaurant caters primarly to wealthier diners in the surrounding area, combining classiness with beach club atmosphere for eaters likely to show up in suitcoats and cocktail dresses or cut-off shorts and tee shirts (and everything in-between). The Corndance offers plenty of sandwiches and salads for lunch, then lays out the swankier entrees plus a variety of pasta choices for evening eating. While -- this still being rural Indiana -- beef/steak still reigns supreme, vegetarians and fish eaters will find a few choices to enjoy. Other notes: -- The service is quite good, but the wait for food seems to take a little longer than similar eateries. Then again, we've usually found ourselves there at busy times, so they're probably average on serving times for the most part. -- The cocktails and wine menu serves pretty well. While not a full menu, they include some things not available everywhere -- for example, above-decent Scotch and wine. -- Bonus points for the rolling door behind the hostess station -- it reveals a staircase that leads to the upstairs dining. Nice layout.

Excellent restaurant in Culver. We had a wonderful goat's cheese appetizer, warm bread, great salad and a fabulous pasta with shrimp and lobster. Great service and atmosphere.

Italian Cuisine

The immense popularity of Italian cuisine globally isn't unknown. You can find an Italian Pizzeria around every corner of almost every city in the United States. Not to forget that in every house, people enjoy mac and cheese as comfort food. But it would be wrong to believe that Italian food starts with pizza and ends with good pasta as this Mediterranean country has much more to offer other than these two dishes. In Italian Cuisine, there is a high use of fresh tomatoes, all kinds of herbs, great quality of cheese, all types of meat, seafood and fresh handmade pasta. Many find it hard to believe that Italians have been making noodles long back.

Italian and Greek cuisines are always mistaken to be same, but they are poles apart. The primary difference between the two cuisines is the use of cheese in most of the Italian dishes. Italians love to cultivate their own cheese and process them as per their food requirement. It is believed that some cheese is so expensive that cheese producers secure them in lockers.

If you are bored eating the same old pasta or pizza, you can try some of the authentic Italian dishes like Risotto, Polenta, Ribollita, Lasagna, Fiorentina Steak, Bottarga, Ossobuco, Carbonara, Focaccia, Arancini and Supplì. Another item which Italians love to relish every morning is a good cup of Italian Coffee. Once you taste a freshly brewed cup of Italian Coffee, you might not visit Starbucks ever again. Authentic Italian food is made with heart and soul, so go find a restaurant where you can relish Italian cuisine in your city.
