So what could make me happier than a dead pig in the sunshine? Well heck, if you're from Southern Ohio or Indiana then you'd know Bob Evans is know for their American Sausage and home-style groceries and.... they have restaurants too. So when my stomach was as empty as a winter rain barrel, I knew where I had to go. As Midwest chain of restaurants specializing in traditional "country" styled American dishes they're pretty darn good. Now me personally, I'm a big city boy, but I felt very welcomed her at Bob's despite my city slicker ways. I've been here twice and initially I though that truck couldn't pull a fat baby off a tricycle, but I was mighty surprised. As far as the food, both times I've been here it's been delicious. The first time, I got the "Sunshine Skillet". And butter my butt and call me a biscuit it was good. The second time on a suggestion got the "Bob Evans Pot Roast Sandwich"... now note, I'm not a big Pot Roast fan, but hot darn the sandwich was so good it would have brought tears to a glass eye. With a nice setting, country fresh food and leaving both times feeling stout as a mule, Bob Evans is a great choice. Pros: Ample Choices, Good quality, Reasonable Prices, Parking Cons: In the middle of nowhere (well, sort of) Cost: $$ of 5 Overall Rating: 4 of 5 Recommendation: Recommended

Took 15 mins in a minimally busy restaurant to get our drink order. 4 servers passed us by. Perhaps this will set the tone for the rest of our time here. Got our food, my order was wrong. No refills, no checking up on us, nothing. Oddly enough the manager is busing the tables while the waitresses zip around aimlessly. I've downgraded the 2 stars to 1 for piss poor service. And the waitress will get a less than 10% tip. BTW: Bob Evans' quote "We treat strangers like friends and friends like family." Is he rolling around in the grave because they manage to botch simple customer service? I think so.

I live in Valpo and not sure why I ever come back to this establishment. They are ALWAYS under staffed and the place is a mess. I am currently sitting at a table with six dirty tables surrounding me that have been vacant for over 20 minutes.

Any time you place a carry out order and receive the wrong order it is awful. Ordered sandwiches and soup for dinner and got home with mashed potatoes and biscuits. When my husband picked up the order, the hostess was rude. When he contacted the manager regarding the wrong order, the manager was rude. Needless to say, we will not be going to that restaurant again.

Went Sunday for the first time after living here 2yrs. Breakfast was good service was very very slow. Noticed on the menu you offer take out. Just got back from picking it up. Apple spinich cranb. Salad, chick noodle soup. What a waste of money. The salad has a whole bag of spinch 4-5 pieces of chicken few apples & few cran/pecans. You should really just call it spinich in a bowl. The soup is good but no broth. Not really what I would call soup. Save your money not worth it. Thanks wont be back

Chicken: How about Bob Evans for dinner? Cow: Sounds greaaaaaat! I hear that "For more than 50 years, [Bob Evans has] been bringing farm-fresh foods to ... restaurant and grocery customers. [Their] success is built on the basics: high-quality food and excellent hospitality." Chicken: Where did you hear that? Cow: On the corporate Web site. Yes, I can read and type. [2 Hours Later, the chicken and cow run into their friend Pig] Pig: You guys don't look so hot. Cow: Yeah, we ate some pretty nasty food. Chicken: I had some salmon that was way overcooked, and some bread rolls that tasted worse than my typical feed. Cow: I had some meat loaf. It was oversalted. Unbearable I would say. Pig: I hope it was at least cheap. Chicken: It was expensive, I am sorry to say. Pig: Well, I guess I'll avoid Bob Evans. Pig: Yeah, I'll stick to my own 'farm!' [Laughs]

I go to my local Bob Evans all the time, but I am not from Indiana. The waiter I had at this location was the nicest person I have ever met. Also, the pancakes she brought out were the best done I have ever had at a Bob Evans. Good work!
