Fellow Yelper's, is this place as good as it looks? The crust and cheese looks amazing. Please let me know your thoughts. I am going to try it next week and will post a formal review. Also, what is the best thin crust pizza in the Carmel area? Thanks

I love this tiny little pizzeria, which is really too pleasantly humble for snooty Clay Terrace. I appreciate any pizza joint that offers individual slices, and this one does. The offerings are pretty standard: cheese, pepperoni, sausage, everything, stuffed, calzones, breadsticks, etc. You won't find any "designer pizzas" here, but they do serve up a very satisfying slice of "mall pizza." You know what I'm talking about. Big, greasy, kinda thin. Yums! Another good thing about Bella is that you can wash your pizza down with beer. Ahhhh, strip mall perfection.

A slice, 2 breadsticks, and a drink for around $8 sounds good to me. What you would expect out of a large slice of and breadsticks from anywhere like this in the area. On this visit I had a supreme which was really good although their stuffed pizza is still my favorite. Besides pizza and breadsticks they also have garlic knots, calzones, salad, and usually a pasta selection.

Well hello there Bella Pizzeria! I'm embarrassed to say that I live walking distance of this place and have NEVER been here before now. This is the most authentic NY style pizza in Carmel. The prices are fair and service is quick. They also deliver!

I'll start by saying I'm a big fan of the pizza. With that being said, the service is lacking. On two different occasions we have ordered a pie only to cancel it, more than 1.5 hrs later, due to no delivery. This evening we ordered a pie from a local brew pub, located less than 2 miles from the location, and after an hr we called for an update. They informed us that it was on the way. 15 mins later we called again and were told it was it was on its way. Finally we called again to cancel, an hr and 45 minutes after ordering. There was no apology and no acknowledgment of the delay. This was a Wednesday night. A simple update during this process would have done wonders, as we did not have unrealistic expectations, but over an hr and 45 mins is ridiculous.

Looking for a quintessential Pizzeria experience in Carmel? Look no further than Bella Pizzeria for a quick dishing of delicious pizza and pasta. I recently stopped in to fill an Italian craving and had a difficult time deciding between a slice of 'Za and their home made Baked Ziti. As the Ziti was served with their tasty Garlic Knots, I was easily swayed. Not only do you get a generous portion, but a rather inexpensive upgrade of about $1.75 will include a sizeable amount of spicy sausage, meatballs or chicken. Top the meal off with a homemade cannoli or a yummy looking cheesecake brownie.

We've ordered take out pizza a few times from here. I've also stopped in for a slice while shopping at clay terrace. The pizza isn't great. It's kind of like mall pizza. Also count your change! Twice they have shorted me. Both times I caught it right away. It shouldn't happen as the register tells them the amount... The customer service is crappy.

Yes, close to NY pizza - but it isn't anything like what I grew up on and ate for decades. Sorry folks - don't think this cuts it quite right. Yes, you can fold it and it is thin and not a dry cracker, but that's where it ends. Got the deluxe - maybe a pepperoni would be a better choice. We got a deal from Fox 59 - so we have another certificate to use. Maybe next time I can say something better. after I try the pepperoni........not in a rush to go back. Small alley like room - at least there were two TV sets to watch the Olympics on while we waited.

Bella's (specifically the Clay Terrace location) comes as close to NYC style pizza as I have been able to get in Indy. The crust is thin and foldable, the sauce is zippy (not sweet) and flavorful, and the cheese is just right. I always go for plain cheese...toppings mess it up for me. It's a touch pricy, but it's worth it.

Been here three times and each time have experienced bad customer service from the non English speaking manager Jaime I refuse to continue spending my money at a place that doesn't value great customer service

Would've been better if the cost wasn't so much. My friend and I ended up at $13.12 for two slices of pizza and two breadsticks total. We thought this was excessive considering we didn't even order any drinks.

  • Michael C.

Pizza was not heated enough and a bit soggy at the bottom. I think lots of people here haven't had much NY style pizza, because while this sort of looks the part, the execution was very far off. Maybe I just got a bad batch.

Fettuccine Alfredo - First time ordering from them. Got delivery. Ordered the Fettuccini Alfredo with Chicken and an order of breadsticks. I didn't get any chicken with the pasta even though I paid for it. Pasta, breadsticks, and cheese sauce were all bland. No seasoning on anything and about the same caliber of Fazoli's (where I don't eat anymore) but $3 more per entree. Tasted like the Alfredo sauce came from a jar. Anyway, wouldn't recommend and won't get again. Just a heads up!

The pizza is great, but way to many kids with to much money to spend! That cost them a star! Remember to eat well and to live well! And please no chains!

  • Eric W.

I've lived in NYC and know that style of pizza. Bella gets it hands down. If you are looking for doughy Midwest pizza. Forget it. This is the place for people who know and appreciate New York style pizza. GO!

  • Rob M.

As a native New Yorker I will attest to the authenticity of this "NY style" pizza joint. Thin, foldable, right amount of cheese, sauce and oilyness. Toppings are fine if you are into that but beyond pepperoni or sausage which are both solid offerings here I have no opinion. Anything more and its no longer a pizza, its a salad. They sell by the slice and if you ask for a large "pie" they don't give you a funny look. Pictures of the NY skyline, soda fountain, its the real deal inside. I lived in Chicago for many years and never found a NY Style pizza as good as this one and I tried every one that had "NY STYLE" in the window. Clay Terrace loc now delivers for no cost, (min $15) which is fantastic. They used to use a delivery service which would tack on their delivery fee, which is hard to justify when just buying a pizza. I would have considered it though because this pizza is that good, but I'm much happier now to have free delivery. The only suggestion I could possibly make is to change the name...Joey's or Tony's would be more NY than "Bella"

Yummy! Better than Luca's pizza, which I shamefully love! And there is something about the owner with gold chains around his neck fitting comfortably in "Clay Terrace of the Snobby" as I like to refer to it, that has a delicious irony.

About Taco Bell

Taco Bell is a haven for Mexican delicacies such as tacos, quesadillas, burritos, nachos, and other specialty items. Owned by Yum! Brands, Inc. Taco Bell is one of the fastest growing American chains of fast food restaurants. The restaurant operates from 7,072 different locations which are mostly run by independent franchisees and licensees.

The background story of Taco Bell is interesting and inspiring for budding entrepreneurs. The fast-food brand is the brainchild of Glen Bell, who started his first food venture as a hot dog seller in San Bernardino, California. The year was 1948. After witnessing long queues outside a Mexican restaurant called Mitla Café across the street, Bell saw the opportunity and demand for hard-shelled Tacos. He reverse-engineered the recipe and later started selling Tacos and called the venture Taco-Tia.

Later, the name changed from Taco-Tia to El Taco. Eventually, Glen Bell sold the company to his partner and opened the first Taco Bell in Downey in 1962. By 1964, the restaurant also got its first franchise in Torrance. The 100th Taco Bell restaurant was opened by 1965. PepsiCo acquired Taco Bell from Glen Bell in 1978 and the restaurant brand is currently a subsidiary of Yum! Brands which looks after the restaurant business of PepsiCo.
