Best Stromboli I have ever had. I have never ate pizza at Swing In only because their Strom is that good. Most definitely a classic Bloomington tradition.

Swing In is okay by me. The building it's in is a little strange. Was it a gas station at one time? A house? The employees are nice but goofy - be prepared for some corny jokes and pranks! The pizza is relatively cheap and standard fare. Nothing fancy but it works. Skip the breadsticks as they are basically tasteless.

When I first came to Bloomington for college, I lived in Read, so I was right across from Mother Bear's. I thought it was the be-all-end-all of pizza until I got a call from my brother, where he talked lovingly about driving to a place called "Swing-In Pizza" with his friends where they'd get ground sausage pizza. I had no idea where this place was or what he was talking about until I accidentally got lost out around 17th street and I saw it. I made note of the number (not hard to remember since it's 330-0000. That weekend, a friend and I ordered the ground sausage pizza and some flatsticks. Now, let me just get this out of the way: The pizza is amazing. It's not for everyone--but the crust is homemade, the sauce is tangy, and I love how they cover literally every inch with ground sausage. It is -so- good. I could eat their ground sausage pizza every day and be happy. It's the kind of pizza my family and I love. The flatsticks? Eh. Too flat and a bit tasteless to me. Go for the mozzarella sticks (which are not what you think they are) if you want anything. I prefer them. The strombolis though? Just as good, if not better, than the pizzas. The bread is thick and chewy, just like how I like my stromboli bread. Everything is piled high, and I love it. And honestly? The place is cheap. I can get a 12 inch completely loaded strombolli with 10 mozzarella sticks for around $12, especially since they always have some sort of deal or another going. If you go in, the guy behind the counter likes to try and spook people and make them jump--he's adorable--but they also deliver all over. Over all, I'm glad my brother recommended I give the place a try. It's probably my favorite pizza place in Bloomington, even if I do tend to order from Aver's more often just because by the time I think to order pizza it tends to be 2AM when Aver's is the only place open. Don't get me wrong, I love Aver's--well, that's a different review for a different time. Swing-In Pizza is great. I'd suggest giving it a go.

Great food!! You keep it up Rocky!!! All I can say is that I am glad to have something from my childhood that is still as good today as it was then.

This is not a place I get pizza from often. But it's good every 3-4 months or so. Unique recipe, very old-style thin crust type. Not quite Arni's/Pizza King style...the closest analogue in town I can think of is MCPC. Worth having at least once if you're not originally from town. And if you are from town, you've probably had it at least a couple of times. Carry out only.

My husband and I used to order from Swing In all the time. The pizza is good, and it's cheap! On a recent delivery order, they botched it and gave us someone else's pizza. Because we have some allergies/dietary restrictions, I called and asked if they could send another one. No biggie, mistakes happen. An hour later, another pizza showed up. This one was also wrong. This time, hunger made us less understanding, we called, expressed our irritation, and they were apologetic and said they would credit our account with a free pizza for next time. This would have been great except when we called to order our free pizza a few weeks later, they had not made a note of this on our account and they gave us a hard time, insisting that if we actually had a free pizza they would have had it on the account. Finally, after the phone conversation became less than amicable, they gave us the free pizza. When I picked it up 20 minutes later they were rude to me, the pizza was cold, and it looked like they'd just thrown it together--the sauce/cheese/toppings didn't reach the crust. Disappointing... I don't mind mistakes, but what happened to treating your customers with a little courtesy? Guess we'll go elsewhere in the future.

I wish we could do half stars. This place deserves a solid 2 1/2 from me. However, if I had to pick "bad" or "good" for my experience, I'd select the latter. So, three for you, Swing In. I ordered flatsticks, wings, and a cheeseburger pizza. The flatsticks are pretty straight-forward: Flat bread sticks. Since I enjoy breadsticks, but hate how fluffy and filling they are, this turned out to be a good pick for me. The sticks themselves didn't really have anything spectacular about them, but we all know you eat breadsticks for the dippin' sauces anyway. And their marinara and nacho cheese were a-ok! Exactly what you'd expect. The wings were pleasantly surprising. The price was *very* reasonable, and they are very large wings, not small and brittle like you'd see from some chains, which will remain Papa unnamed Johns. My big complaint with the wings: while flavorful and meaty, they were definitely not spicy. They lacked that certain kick that I know and love from buffalo sauce. I suspect tossing them in a little Franks would solve this, though. Lastly, the pizza: This, ladies and gentleman, was the main event, and the best part of the meal, by far. I wasn't too in-love with the crust. However, this is just based on my preference for a very thin, non-existent crust. Objectively speaking, I think a lot of people will enjoy their twisty, crispy, clearly-homemade crust. The toppings were delicious, and were heaped on. This is the cheesiest pizza I've had in a very long time! Gotta give a shout-out to their seasonings as well. I can't pinpoint what they season with, but it is unique, noticeable, and delicious. Only problem with the pie was the pickles. As a cheeseburger pizza, I was expecting dill, and these tasted like some sort of sweet pickle. As I loathe sweet pickles, I was kind of sad about this. To be honest, I picked them off, microwaved some dill slices, threw those on, and we were good to go! TL;DR: There was a definite pro and con to each item I tried, and for me, there wasn't really a clear winner, so they get a middle vote. I will eat my left-overs, and may try another pizza of theirs in the future. Will probably not order sides again, though, not that they were terrible.

The pizza here is pretty good, but the Stromboli and meatball subs are about the best I've ever had. If you like stroms from Cafe Pizzaria, please give this place a try. Your pocketbook and taste buds will thank you immensely.

Swing-In Pizza is the best regular-old-pizza around. None of this gourmet chevre and roasted red peppers nonsense. We're talking a big, round pizza cut into a grid of little rectangles made in and served from a cinder block box. The bindle-toting hobo on the box says it all: "it's belly rubbin' good!" No dining in. Swing in and take out.

1 star is an overrating. Everything from the pizza to the breadstix/flatstix is inedible. Terrible beyond words...I didn't think you could f up pizza this bad.

Got a pizza tonight with breadsticks. The sauce was very good. The toppings were plentiful and delicious. The crust is thin and crispy. I would order from them again.
