This is definitely for locals. Ok hot dog but I wouldn't go out of my way. Quick service at lunch. Had a stretched (foot long) with slaw, small fries and drink. $9.10. Expensive for a hotdog. The fries were swimming in grease. No pepper shakers on any of the tables.

Really good dogs. Partial to the bacon cheddar dog myself but they make it a really special treat for even my very basic tastes. Good food, good service, and a nice (if somewhat tight) atmosphere.

Sooo good! Quality Hot Dogs, big selection of toppings, casual, fast service, and won't break the budget. I had the Slum Dog - Regular Dog, Swiss Cheese, Slaw, and Pepper Relish - YUM. Didn't try the Dog Pound, but it all the college kids were ordering them and "wolfing" them down! Try it out you'll be glad you did!

This spot is pretty legit !! i feel its underrated, don't why, maybe because its far from campus so it doesn't get the buzz it deserves, anyways their food is really great the hot dogs are grilled yes you can taste it !! Much better than the watered down fast food places. I got a grilled hot dog, fries, and a drink which came just under $5, in 2015 that's pretty cheap !! THUMBS UP :)

Naughty Dog is one of my favorite places in Bloomington. Highly recommend the Pound Puppy! I won't take any stars away for this, but due to their new (shortened) hours, there's been a lot of times I've really wanted to go here, but couldn't. I wish they would at least stay open until 6 during the week,

Great selection of "Dogs". I had to try the Dog Pound, which is I lb. of goodness on a plate . I would go back just for that. Good, Friendly, Fun service and location. 4 stars and I'll be back!

I absolutely love this place. It's never too busy, the food is excellent and the people are always so nice.

The Good: Excellent hot dogs, huge variety, great prices, great customizability, never messed up an order. I've tried more than half their menu and have yet to be disappointed. Everything is high quality (or at least higher quality than anything else for that price by a long-shot). There's simply nothing more to say; they're amazing. The Bad: Summary: The Bad: Didn't think there'd be a "Bad" on a 5-star review? Well it turns out they're so good that it's *really* unfortunate that actually getting their food is a huge pain. The owner is some kind of hot-dog genius and/or god with a severe allergy to money. The fact that they haven't tried to open a location or moved close to campus boggles my mind. Details: Again, my current theory is that the owner has a severe money allergy and will spontaneously combust if he/she accumulates too much. The fact is that they're an extraordinary hot dog place located in a college town, but are almost as far as you can possibly be from the campus and still be in the town. Worse yet, their weekday hours are terrible and prevent anyone with a day-job from ordering their food or picking food up (you'd have to have a long lunch to drive across town and back...). The good news is that you can order delivery from them, which is nice. I just wish it was easier to get over there!

You won't be disappointed. Too bad it's on the West side of Bloomington or I would be here ALL the time

really good hot dogs- very cheap and a great deal. You get a lot of food in the combo meals (which is a hot dog, small fries, and a drink), so I'd recommend that. The hot dogs are of high quality and the people are nice. It's not a five star restaurant, but the food is worthy of 5 stars.

The hot dogs here are average. I mean 90% of the menu you could do it yourself at home, but I'm to lazy. I got the dog pound which is 1 pound total with cheese, chili, fries, and onions as a topping. I honestly didn't think the chili was that good. I also got the naughty fries which I thought was really good. All in all the food is sub par. I would probably go back.

Took my 13 month old grandson there for lunch a couple Saturdays ago after both my sons raved about it...food was excellent! Only bad thing is they have NO highchairs or booster seats. Grandson stood in the booth beside me as I was eating. We'll have to wait until he's a few years older to try it again...too bad because the food was really good.

Took my brother last week. He had the breaded tenderloin and asked for an extra bun. Yes it's that big. We split a large fry and couldn't finish it. I ordered the medium dog grilled with jalapeno peanut butter and bacon. Outstanding! I had seen it on the board but thought it was a joke. Two of the cooks spoke up and said it was their favorite. Now it's mine also. Very friendly staff.

Dawgs, you say! Yes, my man! There are 6 dogs, 5 ways to cook them, 4 buns, 3 ways to get them cooked, 10 signature dogs, 5 other dishes (including a veggie dog and bratwurst), 15 regular condiments/toppings, 8 premier (they cost more) condiments/toppings and 13 sides. Two condiments are free: ketchup and yellow mustard (wish I'd seen that before I ordered my dog). For $1.95 I got a regular dog (steamed) on a whole wheat bun (toasted) with brown mustard and onions. For $7.95 my son got the Dog Pound (also available as a Pound Puppy with less food): a 1/2-lb. beef dog topped with 1/4-lb. fries, chili, onions and Cheddar cheese. Dog grilled, bun toasted. Both dogs were delicious. Fries were crispy outside but tender inside. The beef dog was fabulous! Chili was quite tasty. The way it works, is you order at the counter. Very patient with my first-time-there ineptitude, and friendly to boot. They bring to your booth, if you're eating in. There's also the Dog Pound Challenge. If you eat three Dog Pounds in three hours, they pay for all of them. When we walked in, two very skinny guys had just finished two Dog Pounds each, but didn't rise to the challenge. Hollow leg syndrome!! Hey, where's Guy Fieri with his Diners, Drive-Ins and Dives!?

Oh snap! I forgot to tell y'all how good the Naughty Fries are! French fries smothered with Thousand Island dressing, melted cheese and grilled onions. Gurrrrrrrrrl. And an enthusiastic thumbs up to the Naughty Dog board, where customers post pictures of their dawgs. Almost as fun as looking at the photos of people who have conquered the Dog Pound Challenge.

Well.....my crystal ball proved me right. this place has got it's proverbial act together and they can kick out some dogs, fries and killer dishes. Lo and behold, I would up working very close to the joint and take all my co workers in for tasty chow! Keep up the great work guys and girls!

To be honest I am not a big fan of hotdogs but this place is NEAT! My bf absolutely lovesssss it and we have been there twice for the past two weeks! Also, you can build your own dog, from grilled, burnt, to deep fried and splitter hot dogs in 4 different sizes! There are a lot of toppings to choose from, cheap and friendly services too!

There's really no other place to go in B-town if you want a good hot-dog. You can get them anyway you want, from steamed, to grilled, to deep fried. And you can get the bun the way you want too. They have a huge list of toppings with excellent standard dogs (i.e. Chicago Dog, Coney Dog, Mexican Dog) to fit any palette. The ingredients are all high quality and the service prompt and friendly. Try the coney sauce. I hear it's homemade, and I believe it. One of my co-workers and I have a running gag where if one goes we have to tell the other, which invariably means the other heads there for lunch too now that it's in their head.

I admit I went in with low expectations.. How good could a hot dog place be (especially outside of Chicago: the land that changed my views of hot dogs)? Turns out that they're really good! The secret is in all the options.. There are many varieties to choose from (such as "the Chicago" or "the Chili dog" etc) or you can design your own from a ton of different toppings. Next, they ask how you want your dog- Steamed, fried, roasted.. I don't even remember what all the options were. Same goes for the bun.. I tried the chili dog and all the elements were on par- good chili, fresh onions, lots of cheddar (a must), and a tasty hot dog. I was a skeptic, but I stand corrected.

If you're a vegetarian looking to binge on a loaded hot dog, this is the place to do it. Imagine the joy you'll feel when a hot dog with all the fixins is placed in front of you and no one had to die to make it happen. There are a ton of options to make the veggie dog of your dreams, not only in toppings but dog preparation and bun preferences too. The staff is always ridiculously cheery--sometimes almost giddy--as they ask you if you want your dog grilled, steamed, deep fried, or dirty. The place has the ambiance of... well, a hot dog shop... but what were you expecting? Without forking over too much cash, you'll leave stuffed to the brim. Enjoy!

The dogs here are great, especially compared to Bloomington food standards. The location and atmosphere are definately on the "needs to improve list," hence the 3 star rating. Definately a spot to visit!

A little hole-in-the-wall, bare-bones establishment that serves absolutely tasty, if absolutely unhealthy, dogs. Chicago, New York and San Franciso-style dogs, among others, are all well represented here. Inexpensive, delicious greasiness. I find myself craving it desperately then regretting the calorie/fat/cholesterol/sodium intake, but every now and then I have to give in. Your choice of beef hot dogs, bratwursts, or veggie dogs. All fantastic. [They also serve Italian Beef sandwiches, but I've never had one so I can't comment on their authenticity.] Because the dogs are so customizable [even if you order the specialty dogs you decide 1) the length of the dog/bun 2) whether it's grilled, burnt on the grill, steamed, deep fried, split and deep fried 3) the type of bun and whether you want it plain, steamed or toasted and 4) toppings], the wait is slightly longer than at the average Chicago hot dog stand or street cart, but I've never waited more than 5 minutes or so for an order when eating in. Yeah, the ambiance (or lack thereof) is a tad stale, but who cares? This place is about the cheap junk food, not the decor. Also, rumor has it they now deliver Mon-Sat 5-9 PM.

I was so happy to find out there was a new independent spot to eat on the west side! Food was cheap and good (though the chili fries were maybe a touch too salty), but I was really happy! Will definitely go again and try out some other stuff. There were so many food options, my mind was a little boggled. They have a good website with a menu on it, though. The gentlemen who made my food were very friendly and awesome! Pumped about this spot.

If you can appreciate a good dog, then this is your place in Bloomington. I just had the chance to try some of the options on the menu and all I can say is that this place is amazing. It's about time Bloomington gets a 5 STAR Dog shop. The menu is incredible and the ingredients are fresh. The other thing that is great about this place is that they have great toppings and side orders which are key if you are going to run a top shop. I had the chance to meet the owners and they are terrific as well. Hopefully we will see these guys out at night as these dogs will serve as a great late night treat.

Pretty good hole in the wall joint. Lots of toppings and pretty cheap. Wasn't thrilled with their veggie dog, but their veggie chilli was pretty good. I'd absolutely recommend this place to somebody looking for a quick snack.

They make fine hot dogs with a ton of different options. It seems almost like going to a sub shop with bread, cooking, and topping choices. Glad to see a hot dog place can make it here.

Went here today for my birthday lunch. This place is great! I had the slaw dogs and the naughty fries. Both were excellent! I will be back here often!

After viewing "Hot Dog Paradise" on the travel channel multiple times, I've been wanting a specialty hot dog with all the toppings. Between my boyfriend and I, we ordered a Chicago dog, Frisco dog, and Coney Dog. Mine were veggie dogs and they were excellent! The regular and veggie dogs are around $2.50, making a very affordable meal. The also offer a unbelievable amount of customizations for your dog. The Naughty Dog is fairly far from campus (in a strip mall by Big Lots on the west side) but was worth the drive. I wish they would bring a cart to campus around lunch time...I think it would be very popular. Overall, definitely worth a visit...I'll be back.

Naughty Dog builds a wide variety of hot dogs and sides with a limited, but high-quality array of ingredients. Dogs, buns, toppings, chips, and fries are mixed and matched, making salty, pleasing, simple offerings. They use Hebrew National hot dogs and offer to steam, grill, or deep fry the hot dogs in various ways and will steam or toast the bun to your liking. Even when I'm with a party ordering four dogs, each with a different combination of styles and buns and special requests for the topping, I've never had an order be wrong. You can use toppings to build your own or order pre-fab combinations such as New York-style, Mexi-dog, or Chicago-style (complete with neon-green relish). There's a monstrosity of cyclopean proportions called the "Dog Pound", which alleges to be a full pound of hot dog, chili, fries, and bun. Some day, I hope that I will be physically and mentally up to the task of eating such a thing without dying. The fries are very well done. While certainly not gourmet, they're top of the class fast-food fries. The homemade tortilla chips are also good, but perhaps better suited for nachos than as a side. Prices are also very reasonable considering the quality of the ingredients. My biggest gripes are the location (entirely too far from Bloomington proper to be a regular dining spot) and the smaller concern that cups are styrofoam instead of something more environmentally friendly. Naughty Dog is everything fast-food should be, enjoy a trip out there for some clandestine dogs and fries and nobody else has to know.

Awesome hot dogs. Tons of options and always delicious. Staff is (usually) very friendly, and the atmosphere is cozy and casual. Reasonably priced and more than worth a visit!

Great dogs but very slow and disorganized service. Called ahead a take out order but still had to wait in line 15-20 minutes to get it.

These dogs are phenomenal. Very high quality ingredients with a wide selection and the prices are extremely affordable. Getting to Naughty Dog is now a must whenever I am in Bloomington...

This place knows how to make a good dog! What makes a good dog, you ask? Well, let me tell you. What kind of bun would you like? Plain? Wheat bun? Poppy seed? Stretched (footlong) bun? How would you like your bun prepared? Plain? Toasted? Steamed? What size dog would you like (I won't mention them all here, but there are several size dogs). How would you like your dog cooked? Steamed? Grilled? Burnt on the Grill? Yes, they will give you that char texture on your dog. Do you like it Deep Fried? Split and Grilled? The number of flavors available are so numerous it's RIDICULOUS (in a good way)! They are the first place outside of Chicago who can provide a GOOD replication of a Chicago-style dog! Steamed poppyseed bun, fried dog with onions; relish; sweet pepper; pickle and tomato. Mmmm... The only thing I don't get is that the fries aren't included. Up around Chicago, when you go to hotdog places, the fries are usually part of the deal and included with the price. Oh well, I guess they can't be perfect. But this place also offers other foods like chili and even vegeterian options. The location is on the far west side of Bloomington, about .5 mile west of SR 37 next to Big Lots. Small interior. Limited seating. Good, simple food that's worth the wait!
