It's already tragic enough when you are looking forward to something just to find the restaurant doesn't have it but to have the worst experience in the world follow it just ruins the whole day! We gladly would have overlooked the lack of Lamb at a Gyro restaurant if the food they did have was good enough. First off the service was atrocious. The man behind the counter was very rude and unhelpful. He tossed stuff on the counter and grunted like a farmer tossing slop in a trough. He also forgot my grandmother's baklava and acted irritated and rude when she returned to ask for the food she already PAID FOR! The beef was very dry as well as the Feta cheese, whatever the sauce was was vinegary and overpowering. The pita was dry and fell apart dropping the contents all over. My grandmother and I also got the fried zucchini. The zucchini was squishy and gooey on the inside while the breading was nearly burned to a char black on the outside. Peeling the zucchini out by itself was the only thing that made them semi-edible. The ranch tasted like vinegar and burned my mouth. Finally desert, my grandmother was the only one to dare it. She tried their "delicious baklava". From first look the top was very dry and flaking apart and the bottom was very squishy. She reported the taste was horrid and did not even finish it. It seemed like a small piece of something you get frozen at Sam's Club thawed and left in the fridge for weeks. In closing, we would never recommend this place. I created my account to try to get the review to better reflect the service and food at this establishment!

This place is your average, run-of-the-mill greasy spoon where you can get all kinds of fried foods (and gyros). I have to take exception with those calling this place "dirty." Old? Yes. Furniture dated and tacky? Absolutely! Dirty? No way. The chrome backsplash behind the grill is always clean. The tables are clean. The counters are clean. I have gone here numerous times over the years, and honestly, have always admired how CLEAN they keep the place despite the condition of the furniture and building. The guy at the counter is not necessarily chatty, but service has always been quick and professional. For what you pay and the kind of place it is, it is pretty good. I have no complaints. Every now and then I get a hankering for them and head over, and I am rarely disappointed. I am not sure what people's expectations are. You can clearly see it's not fancy from the street, but it *IS* kept clean!

This is a typical 'greasy spoon' style restaurant that also happens to sell gyros and baklava. The gyros are always flavorful and cut fresh to order; many of their other items are deep fried but you know what you're getting. They actually have some of the better baklava in town, and their gyros are on-par with many other places in town. It's a great destination for lunch.

Gyros were great! I was craving Greek food and this was a good fix. It was quick, not too bad on price, and it seemed pretty slow around 3pm. Baklava was not the best, but being Armenian I'm picky on that!

I LOVE this place. It's so delicious. Only those who don't order a gyro or pretentious people are the ones writing negative reviews. Have faith in the king!

Best Gyros in town, without a doubt. I always get carry out - just be sure to call ten minutes ahead and it'll be ready by the time you get there! Guys behind the counter have always been super nice, too. I grew up in the Chicago land area, and this is typical King Gyros fare - rare to find this far south. Food has always been of good quality, and in bountiful amount.

I used to love the gyros here, but after finding better in Chicago, these just don't cut it anymore. The meat is OK, the pita was stale, the sauce is average, and the fries were bad. Not to mention the establishment itself is grimy. If you're severely hungover, this might be the place, but don't come here sober.

I like their gyros, but confused why they also have all these classically, greasy food, too. Definitely the place I prefer for gyros, but the fries and fried sides I can find elsewhere.

Very dirty restaurant, food was freezer-burned, and the prices are pretty steep for the quantity and quality. Absolutely no customer service, but I didn't really expect it (not included in my rating). Bathroom was gross and needed a total cleaning. The gyro was OK, but small. The fries were almost non-existent and very small and lukewarm. The tenderloin was the worst experience. It tasted extremely old and seemed a little undercooked. The condiments were very old and need a replenishment. Tables were sticky and looked like they hadn't been cleaned in days (weeks?!). The water used in my lemonade was beyond disgusting and I couldn't drink it. Had to stop. I WILL NOT be back. The King Gyros in South Indy is excellent, though. If you're in the area and craving good, quality food, visit that location. Not this one.

I don't understand the attitude comments, just because he is a Mexican who is shy and does not speak good English? Let me tell you: he's totally pleasant if you lived in California. I like their gyro plate, will never go to Trojan Horse the Fake Horse again.

Best gyros in Bloomington! The place may look a bit run-down but the food is worth it, and fast too. I stop by here regularly to do take-out - the guys behind the counter may not speak great English but they know how to do a gyro.

Honestly, the decor of this place scares me. It's like the 80's died. The guys at the counter are not friendly. At all. What they are is fast and efficient and consistent. I only order takeout here. I get the gyro platter with an extra pita. Call ahead from my house and it's done and waiting for me by the time I get there. Lots of meat, hot and spicy, the onions and tomato are slightly pickled and better than you expect, and the fries are amazing. Hot, crispy, and plentiful. And all that for about $10. I always have leftovers and they reheat beautifully. My kids have the gyro sandwiches and the fried fish and while I think alot of their food is made from frozen, it's always fresh and fast and I'd rather they deep-fried stuff for me. I hate the smell of frying oil in my house. :)

I have been going to King Gyros since I was a little kid and I'm so glad it's still around and kickin'. When I was young I'd get their hot dogs and French fries (hey, I was a kid) which are, incidentally, delicious. I've since graduated to their gyros plate which is AMAZING. Definitely enough food for two full meals. Their gyros meat and tzatziki sauce is the best in town. I only took 1 star off for the ambience and physical appearance of the place. It was run down and dated 15 years ago, and it looks the same now. But, that's not why I go there :-)

I'm a big fan of this place. I ordered take-out, so I can't say much about the customer service. The wait was very short; maybe 5/10 minutes. For $8, I got a gyro, fries, and a small Coke. The gyro had a LOT of meat in it, enough tzatziki sauce to go around, onions, and tomatoes. The pita was very good, too. The fries are shoestring and about two handfuls. There's some reviews online that said the portions were on the small side. I'll be honest, when I picked it up, I thought so, too. But there's a lot of meat in the gyro, and honestly, it shouldn't be the size of a chipotle burrito. I don't think anything should be that size (except for my--). Bottom line, very good place for a gyro. I suspect if it were closer to downtown, people would be saying "Trojan Who?"

A week before I went my coworker let me try her jalapeno poppers. They were excellent, very fresh and tasty. During my visit I had gyro and jalapeno poppers. It took about 8 minutes to receive my food. I was quite impressed with the time. I wanted to eat there but the atmosphere was very dull. I would even suggest upgrades. I thought the portion was small too then I realized that I was full after half of it was gone. I thought the price was a little high for what I received. The gyro was $5 and the poppers were close to $4. Even though the poppers are a little pricey I would buy them again. The gyro was good too but that is probably a once a year deal for me.

Tasty cheap, good loaded gyros. I get a basic one for $5 and almost always do takeout. Great amount of stuff on it, and it's always really fast.... EXCEPT last time I went, I ordered small fries on the side. While waiting, I saw it was the same price to make the gyro a meal. When I asked the guy if I could have a drink with it, he said no because I had already ordered. I said that wasn't very nice, and he didn't seem to care.

OK, this isn't fine dining. The best description I can give is fair food in a restaurant. Great gyro offerings, corn dogs, fish sandwiches, tenderloins, fries, you name it. The variety is almost shocking and a bit strange. But it's good food, and very inexpensive. I recommend!
