People here were nice enough but the food was just terrible. The wife had tacos and I had a burrito, and they were both almost inedible. I wanted to throw up afterwards just so I could go somewhere else and have good tacos

Excellent food just like all the other los burritos I've come across! The service is nothing exceptional but you get your food correct and in a timely matter which is what counts! Best burritos!

First thing you encounter is the rude cashier. The steak burrito was loaded down with cheese. Not to mention no flavor in the meat. And a lot of grizzle. Only reason I gave 2 stars was because the lettuce and tomato were fresh. I've had better burritos at pepes.

I continually visit this restaurant at least once a month. The tacos, chips and salsa are always very good - incredibly good at night when the regular night cook is at the grill. Service is always fast and courteous.

I've been coming here the better part of 10 years and have not been disappointed. The food is dependable and the service is good. I'm not much of a burrito guy, so I usually go for tacos or tortas. Carne Asada is my jam, and they do it nicely here. Order at the counter and they will bring you your food (you'll pay in advance) - CCs are accepted (thank goodness). The interior is brightly colored (and brightly lit). I'm guessing they are putting their money towards ingredients and staff pay rather than the furniture. Today I tried something on their menu a bit different - the Milanesa Torta. The beef in this sandwich was pounded flat to within an inch of its life, breaded, and fried. The edges were crispy, and the beef had a nice flavor. They used an awful lot of crema (see picture) which became mixed in with the shredded lettuce. Good for now eating, but not so good for later eating. Overall, though, the torta was pretty delicious. There are a few Los Burritos Tapatios in the area, so YMMV if you go to a different location (they might be even better). Recommended.

Ive been coming here before when i used to live in westmont. An older guy used to cook here it was very good. I ordered steak and i made a decision i will never come here again. Tasted bad. Seems like an old batch or just bad steak. Didn't even finish it. Its total 2 skirt steaks. I only ate half of one.

I love Los! Definitely been a fan since the first day I tried it! For some reason though, this location is AWFUL. Every single time we have ordered food from here, my order is completely wrong! When I order a steak taco with only cheese and I get fish taco with everything on it, there's a problem. Especially when I'm allergic to tomatoes! I will definitely still visit other locations, but they either need to shut this location down, or get employees who can take orders properly.

Everytime I've been here something has been wrong with the order. It's average Mexican food at a reasonable price. Meat quality is very low here and I would not recommend trying anything with steak here; it is mostly extremely tough with alot of inedible gristle/fat. If you do give this place a try i would recommend the Tex Mex burrito which is pretty much like a fajita style burrito (grilled onions and green peppers inside it); and just hope and pray they get the order right...

Open until 3am - great for those who want some decent food at a great price. For me, it's just chicken torta with the red sauce and some horchata. Boom, happy man over here. Free salsa/chips too. Can't complain. Service is never slow and never disappoints. Parking can be a tight squeeze at times so depending on when you go - plan accordingly. Location is within a strip mall.

A good burrito is my kryptonite, and this place would slay Superman any day of the week. I've been getting their chicken burritos since the day I tried this place. The ingredients have always been fresh, and I've yet to get a piece of the grizzly chicken fat that can easily turn a good burrito bad. For $6, you definitely get your fill of food too. They're open all night, but during some peak hours it can get a little busy. Luckily, you can phone orders in ahead of time and pick them up to avoid the wait.

Without a doubt the best place to get a burrito, they hook it up fat and are open late, overall amazing

I've eaten carryout from Los Burritos Tapotios about six times or so, but I've only ever had the Tacos and the side dishes of Rice and Beans. There are a variety of Taco fillings available (steak, ground beef, pork, chicken, Mexican sausage, chile rellenos, etc.) and all are very good. The tacos here are several notches above what you will find at any fast food place, both in terms of authenticity and quality as well. Taco sauce is also provided with your order, in varying degrees of spiciness from mild to hot. All of the side dishes that I've had have been more than reasonably priced and of high quality, especially the refried beans (one of my personal favorites). As I've only had lunch from this place (tacos), I've not had a chance to sample their dinner menu, but based upon my lunch experience I'd definitely try any of these as well. Service is good... prompt and attentive, even during busy lunch hour intervals.

This place is better than I remember. I haven't been here in a few years but it was amazing. The service was great even though there was one person serving over 10 people. Great Mexican food for a great price!

Another location for Los Burritos Tapotios? Yes please. I live in Downers Grove and typically visit the Ogden location but I was very happy to find this location hidden on my route home from work. I'm a fan of the steak burrito suizo with the steak tacos taking a close second. Not the best place for a nice dinner or anything but its great for something quick for lunch, after work, or at 3 am.

The Downers Grove location is better, but this one isn't bad. I think this chain has better than average menu than other Mexican restaurants.

Been wanting to try this place for a while and I'm glad I did. More of a traditional taqueria. Steak tacos were excellent, very tender meat, cooked to perfection. They serve theie tacos American style with cheese, lettuce and tomato. I personally think that masks the flavor of the meat. Try ordering your tacos with cilantro and onion. It's served with a lime and you can really taste the meat. Cheese Enchiladas and milanesa torta were also good. Would recommend to a friend and I'd go back to try the different dishes.

My friends brought me over to this place. My friends and I all got our order right. The food came out pretty fast. I ordered a steak torta. it was pretty good!! The owner (i'm guessing) was pretty nice. I kinda felt bad because I was making him wait while I was trying to dig out my coins from my wallet. But he didn't rush me at all! He was very polite, & told me to take my time. He also said 'thank you' after my order. I will definitely stop by this place again, and try something else from the menu.

Downers grove location is wayyyyy better. I had a tough time communicating with the lady taking orders. The meat was cold , dry, and old. I'd rather travel a bit more.

Since there's more bad than good, let's start with that. Like many Mexican restaurants, the costumer service is bad, but it doesn't stop there, the cashiers lack respect and manners for costumers. The Food is quite good. The tortillas they give are corn tortillas which is good for Mexican restaurants. Most of the meat they offer is frozen and is thrown straight to the stove as is, aside from soda pop they only offer orchata (rice water) as their menu beverages which happens to be $2.50 for the large size. IMO it is overpriced. The sauces that they offer are terrible. Too much water is used in them and makes the flavor awful. My recommendation is to skip this one if you dislike bad customer service and care about the sauce.

I rarely get so upset, and I had to wait a week to actually write a review. Now I've lived in the city for a few years now, and I used to be a real big fan of this place. I recently and briefly have moved back, and was dying to eat here. This place has changed so much. The staff is completely different and completely clueless if you ask me. I ordered a burrito with no cheese, and no sour cream, and asked if I could have avocado in it's place. The woman read the order back to me, and I replied yes, that's correct. I think five minutes went by when I was asked what I wanted on my burrito for a second time. I went through it again, and she again read the order back again. Would you believe that this happened once more? Well it did, I went through my order a third time. This may not seem like a big deal to some of you, but I am insanely allergic to dairy, and if I have just the smallest amount I end up sick for at least a day. So I like to make sure that I am getting my food correctly. And you would think that having a full on discussion three times it would be correct. Well upon my return home, I open up my bag, pull out my burrito, ravenously rip through the tin foil waiting to enjoy my long lost love of a burrito. I grab the sharpest knife in the drawer and slice it open in a Dexter like manor only to discover a disgusting amount of sour cream, maybe a 1/16 of an avocado and just a clump of cheese. Since this was probably my first meal since breakfast and it was now about 5pm I was boiling! I take a deep breath, calm myself down and call them back to ask if I may drive back there and receive the burrito I ordered. Well, let's just say I was miss understood. When I arrived back there, the woman had this look on her face like she never seen me before. Also the correction I was anticipating wasn't even close to being done, because when I explained myself on the phone I was yet again miss-understood. So waiting another 10 min after I arrived, I finally accomplished my goal of getting a burrito. I don't think my order was very complicated, and I can't be the only person in this town who has an intolerance to dairy. I was never compensated, never apologized to, and never thanked for being a customer. If you ask me if I will ever return to Los Burritos Tapotios, I will say yes of course... to the other locations. I rate the one on Ogden across from delta sonic five stars. This one seems like the location that management has forgotten.

Mexican Cuisine

If you enjoy Taco Tuesday, then you have officially fallen in love with the Mexican Food. The main grain of Mexican cuisine is maize. Also known as corn, maize is grown for the past 9000 years after the crop was discovered by the people in Mayan civilization. Mexican empire flourished when they started growing beans, tomatoes, chili pepper, sweet potato and cactus. Till this date these ingredients are used in cooking authentic Mexican dishes and drinks.

Great use of spices, fresh chili pepper dishes like fajitas, tortilla chips, corn chips, salsa, chimichangas, burritos, nachos and quesadillas are invented in America. But when you are looking for authentic Mexican food then you must find a restaurant in the city that serves Rajas con Queso, Garbanzo in a Guajillo Chile Sauce, Pork Filled Chiles Rellenos, Chiles en Nogada, Molcajete Salsa, Pico de Gallo and Frijoles de la Olla. An eye-opening fact – Mexican don't like their food hot. They use fresh chili and other spices to create a flavor that lingers in your mouth.

Mexican food is great for those who are Gluten Intolerant as they use Corn instead of wheat in most of their dishes. Also, you can easily find many beans based Mexican dishes. Another dish which didn't get similar glory as tacos or nachos is the Mexican hot chocolate. If you love something hot on a chilly day, then go for Mexican Hot Chocolate. On merry days, you can enjoy the authentic Mexican Drinks like Tequila, Mezcal, Tecuí, Sotol, Bacanora, Charanda, Posh O Pox, Puebla and Pulque. Mexican Cuisine is for people who enjoy strong drinks and hearty meals.
