It's hard to knock Long Sing for much when the service is so great, but the more I go and try different things the more I realize it's just an average Chinese restaurant. I used to be a regular here when my former boss was still with the company, but since he's moved on I don't stop in as much. When I am in the mood for Chinese, Long Sing is my #1 spot in the area. The service is always fantastic and quick. Some sit down restaurants can get pricey with entrees, tips, etc all adding up. Long Sing offers a solid lunch specials menu that's about 12 items for about $5.95-$6.95 depending on the protein you get. Egg Foo Yung, Garlic Chicken and Beef with Broccoli are just some of the options. The meal also includes soup or your choice and an egg roll. With the good size proportions, that is plenty of food for lunch. My go to is the Garlic Chicken. It's fantastic. One thing Long Sing has going against it is curb appeal. It looks like a run down place and once you step inside you definitely go back a few decades in decor. There isn't much of a sign out front and it is located in strip mall that is somewhat difficult to get in and out of because of the intersection a few hundred feet away. If you work in the area and have not tried Long Sing yet, give it a chance. It's a quick, cheap option for lunch instead of all the fast food places that flood the area.

This place is mad expensive for what i have to meanly review as mediocre chinese food. I'll walk you through my experience. I Wanted to eat at another restaurant in the plaza, it was closed decided to try this place instead. So it was my first time there. I'll admit i asked a lot of questions and took a while with the menu but the waitress's very rude "are you ordering or not?" shocked my core. Then i decided on a 15 dollar noodls dish. Because i was not paying 13 dollars for sesame chicken. After my food came i opened the box, as i always do, to make sure the food was correct. This must have angered the waitress because she began questioning me as if she were a police officer. Got home tried the food and while the noodles were seasoned well and were tender, it tasted like they popped Some vegetables in a microwave and sprinkled soy sauce on top. Overall was not impressed with the food, the atmosphere or the prices. I will certainly not be returning.

We decided to give it a try depsite the bad reviews. We ordered the house lo mein, garlic chicken, and hot n sour soup. The lo mein noodles looked like spaghetti noodles and lacked flavor. The garlic chicken was more like bamboo chicken and the hot n sour soup was too think to enjoy. I really wanted to like it because I had already waited for it for almost an hour but it was just that bad. The customer service was great but I would def not be coming back.

Ordered chicken with vegetables and shrimp with vegetables. I had to hunt for meat amid mostly Bok Choy. There was 1 broccoli in each, the rest was celery and Bok Choy. The egg roll was limp and overly salted. The rice was very bland. I would never dine here again

Craving some Chinese food and this is the nearest one that's not a buffet. Decided to try since I saw three stars on yelp. The server was nice and friendly but the food tasted horrible. Ordered a beef teriyaki appetizer and I was served old chicken teriyaki, the chicken meat tasted old. I also ordered a combination fried rice to be on the safe side and it had a funny aftertaste, almost like soap. Won't be coming back again.

Large portions of food at dinner. Very fresh food. I've gone here multiple times and the food is always great. Only thing is they have a few employees at night so service can take a bit. The wait is worth it. Note if small parking lot is full, in front (of building) go around back of building for a ton of extra parking spaces.

What the hell did I just feed my family. When we got to the restaurant it was dark..something out of a horror story. When we walked in it was about 8 minutes before anyone even came to see us. When we ordered I should have known from the start that things were going to turn out bad. The waitress was more concerned about my address then the food that I was ordering and how we wanted it prepared. It took over 20 minutes for the delivery to get to my house. There idea of orange chicken is some brown gritty pieces of chicken that look and taste old. It was smothered in some thick cream and didn't even taste anywhere close to orange chicken. Then we had the combination fried rice that left a nasty taste in your mouth. Don't get me started on the barbecue pork and its fluorescent colors. I highly recommend if you want food poisoning you should eat here otherwise don't waste your time and money. I threw out all the food out. I'm so very serious do not waste your time and money on this shitty one star restaurant.

Woo-hoo, they deliver! I was surprised at the recent negative review; I chose this place off an iphone app that said this is one of the most popular Chinese restaurants in Waukegan. I had the lemon chicken, pork fried rice, and a couple of egg rolls. All were stellar in terms of freshness and flavor. The exception is the lemon sauce for the chicken--better than I've had in the area, but what is the deal with lemon sauce in the mid-west? I am NOT a fan of bell peppers in the sauce--it completely changes the flavor...I'm just going to stop ordering the dish. The person who took my phone order and the delivery person were very polite. No issues for me with this restaurant for my first experience.

I have my favorite Chinese dishes from various Chinese restaurants. Hands down, this one has my favorite Mongolian Beef. It's tender, juicy, great tasting, fresh, and sooooooooo delicious. The service we receive is always great. My boys like the Lo Mein. This place is a regular for me.

Okay. I haven't actually eaten here...this review is about their delivery. (Which took freakin' 2 hours) I ordered food from here today because they're the only ones who deliver to the barracks (it was either this, galley food or microwaved stuff) - but as of this evening our SDC banned everyone on the ship from ever ordering from them again (which I guess is kind of a good thing) My take on the food I ordered: Crabmeat Rangoon- I make bomb a** creamcheese/crab wontons and these were awful. Not to be conceited or anything, but c'mon now- wonton wrapper is supposed to be CRUNCHY and not rubbery. Shrimp Fried Rice- meh. They use tiny shrimp. like the size of my pinky nail. And they're TOO pink. That's not normal. House Special Pan Fried Noodles- oh my gawd...when I opened the box...THE WARST SMELL EVARRR...even worse than a baby's used diaper...I felt like I was going to hurl (I think it was the veggies) Suffice it to say...I definitely DO NOT recommend this place. If I die from food poisoning in the morning, you'll know who to blame :(

First visit to Illinois, first restaurant = worst Chinese food ever. They had the lights off as we walked in (lack of customers; should have been our first clue). The plates were dirty, the silverware was dirty, the shrimp was burned, their orange chicken were giant pieces the size of my hand with some sauce smothering it, their beef tasted like it's been left out for while. But hey, they'll be really nice to you until you tell them that there's something wrong with your food. So for that, you get a one star Long Sing Restaurant..... I look forward to your bankruptcy.

I'm not even sure were to start. When we found Long Sing it was after a failed attempt to find anything else to eat. The group I was dining with was hungry for Chinese food and this seemed like a reasonable and highly rated restaurant to dine. Wrong! The lights were off due to no one being there and it appeared as though no one was on staff. The waiter was pleasant and quick to seat us and get water. Everything was down hill from here. The utensils were dirty, the plates had dried food on them, and the menu had grammatical errors. When we got our food it wasn't fresh and it certainly didn't taste good. When we explained our issues with the food, the waiter completely changed from happy and accommodating to defensive and rude. At one point she said "just because the plates are dirty doesn't mean the food isn't fresh!" Terrible experience, be good to your stomach and drive the extra mile or two for quality food and service.

This is a great chinese food place for take-out. Dinner specials are plenty. Egg rolls are delicious! Lo mein is greasy, but so is all lo mein. Beef and broccoli was tasty!

I've eaten here many many times, for lunch and dinner. A can't comment on the delivery or what happened to the person below, but I've always had a great experience dining in here. For the lunch specials, you get a very large portion of food (the shrimp in lobster sauce is the bomb) with an egg roll or crab rangoon. Dinner portions are huge and are great for sharing family style. Some of my favorites: Crab rangoon (It is crispy and fresh, I don't know why you'd order this for delivery as it's meant to be eaten immediately), combination fried rice, mongolian beef, and shrimp in lobster sauce. The staff is always friendly, and there's a full bar too!

This is probably one of the best local chinese restaurants around this area that I have been able to find. The crab rangoon, silver shrimp, and bbq pork appetizers are to die for. The waitress that has been there forever is super friendly. The best thing I like is that when you order their entrees, unlike a lot of other chinese restaurants, the dish doesn't come out glistening with oil...

Chinese Cuisine

The popularity of Chinese food in America can be adjudicated by the appearance of China Town in many major cities in the United State of America. The popular trend of ordering or opting for Chinese take away food isn't unknown in America. Chinese take away food comes to rescue when you're too tired from work or too exhausted to cook. No one can resist the temptation of eating spicy noodles, shrimp, chicken, beef or pork cooked in the sweet and spicy sauce. The cooking method of authentic Chinese food is a lot different compared to what is served in America.

Generally, Chinese use dark meat small bones and organs to cook dishes but this changes when you are eating American-Chinese fusion food prepared using white boneless meat cooked with broccoli, carrots and onions. Back in China, the food is less spicy and oily as they favor steaming and braising method for cooking the most popular dishes. So, if you have a taste for authentic Chinese food, then try finding a real Chinese restaurant in the city. You can also try the most popular fusion Chinese food like Pecking Duck, Chicken Feet, Hot Pot, Shrimp Dumpling Soup, Mapo Tofu, Wontons, Chop Suey, Egg Rolls and not to forget Fortune Cookies.

There are not many restaurants in America serving authentic Chinese food. A little research on Restaurant Listings directory can help you locate the best Chinese restaurants in the city. Chinese cuisine is continuously evolving, and you can find a variety of dishes categorized as the food for lactose intolerant, gluten intolerant, vegan, vegetarian, and diabetic friendly. So, if you have a group of friends with different taste patterns, save the hassle and visit the nearest Chinese restaurant in your city.
