Decent waiter, or basically the waiter is also the person who took our order. Came here during labor day, since not many restaurants are open. But of course, you can always count on a chinese joint being open :P The only thing this place has going for itself is LARGE portions, and pretty cheap prices. The rest are all mehh. My veggie mai fun gave me acid reflux. jumbo shrimp and broccoli, though jumbo, was a terrible flavor, i am just not sure if this dish is supposed to be salty or sweet. egg drop soup was bad...just bad.I hate it when my soup is all watery. free spring roll or crab ragoon after you spend $20, but the crab ragoon tasted terrible. also got veggie fried rice instead of regular rice on the side for the jumbo shrimp with broccoli, the fried rice looked like they were soaked in soy sauce. i guess technically you don't have to pay tips here. but still, this place has nothing going for it except for portion. will not be back. also, i highly think they use pig fat or something instead of vegetable/peanut/canola oil.

When it comes to fast-food Chinese food restaurants in Chicago, it's no New York. It's hard to find a Chinese food place in Chicago that doesn't serve you greasy, sugary, fatty dishes that are overpriced for their quality. That's why I was so happy to find this place near my job in Waukegan. It started out with desperation for lunch. I ordered delivery and they had it there quickly, before my actual lunch hour. The food was hot and surprised me with it's quality compared to it's price. I wish there were a place like this in Chicago. You can get a lunch combo with an egg roll or soda, fried rice, and an entree for six bucks after taxes. And their food may not be five star restaurant quality, but it is better than most fast-food Chinese places. The chicken is tender and not overcooked or greasy. The sauces aren't too oily or greasy. The service is okay. Friendly but not attentive. I haven't had issues with delivery around lunch time. The pictures are the same pictures that most fast-food Chinese restaurants use, and if you have ever been in one you'd know that they don't actually take pictures of their food. Still, take a look at my pic of my food and tell me that doesn't look appetizing. Also, some people complain of the restaurant's appearance. It isn't fancy, it's a quick service restaurant that is at least clean and has plenty of seating. Parking in the back! I recommend this place for a quick, cheap, tasty lunch that won't have you feeling crappy like more expensive options *cough* McDonalds *cough*

I have been going to this Chinese restaurant for years and 11/17/14 will be my last time giving them my money!!! First off I order Mongolian chicken, it was all onions and very little chicken. I ordered chicken lomein it had no chicken and disgusting. The fact of the matter their food is gross and I don't know if it is under new management but I will never go again.

Ordered for delivery tonight. I wasn't expecting much but was surprised to see everything was fresh. The veggies were perfect and so was the chicken in the broccoli chicken. Pork fried rice was also very tasty. The hubby loves Chinese so I am sure we will order again.

The food was bland and missing flavor. We ordered carry out and the delivery took over an hour. It was 20 minutes late and delivered cold and missing part of the order.

Yes! That's all I have to say. If you live in close proximity to Waukegan and need delicious, delivered Chinese food in a hurry, Hong Kong will satiate all of your needs. The fried rice is excellent. The Kung Pao Chicken is a little on the bland side, but their General Tsao's Chicken is amazing. Try their combo deals which are a steal: you get an entree and fried rice. They delivery pretty damn quickly: I've usually gotten food in 30 to 40 minutes (and I live beyond their delivery radius). If you dine it, don't expect to be impressed by your physical surroundings. The restaurant's not the prettiest place in the world, but who cares? Definitely try Hong Kong out for delivery Chinese food!

Placed my order at 5:00pm and was told it would be about 45 minutes to an hour. At 6:30, I called to check on my delivery and was told that the driver was on his way, and "I'm sorry, we got really busy." Another half hour went by and he still hadn't shown up, so I called again. I asked for my money back and the woman said the driver had JUST left, and they couldn't do that. Completely unacceptable, and will not order from this place again.

Ordered delivery, took about 35 minutes to get I my house but the food was nice and hot and very fresh tasting. I will order from them again! *UPDATE* I went with my parents to the actual restaurant, and we didn't even get out of the car. The store front of this restaurant is disgusting... =[

Order with caution. The pictures in the menu are completely deceiving. They told me that they had been here for 15 years so they did not need to put a description about their cashew chicken, but their cashew chicken picture shows white meat chicken. When I got home and opened the package it was breaded chicken with a dark sauce. I'm gluten intolerant, so when I order a dish without breading and light sauce I'm fine. They ignored my mention of the picture being deceiving and would not assist me unless I drove back to pick up a new order. I had already paid for the meal and could not eat it. I didn't trust that they would make me a nice new dish either. Waste of money. I may have driven back if it wasn't in the evening. I was alone and there was a creepy guy watching the register when I was in the first time and the area/upkeep of the place is a bit sketch for a woman by herself. They refused to deliver and I'm in area.

Chinese Cuisine

The popularity of Chinese food in America can be adjudicated by the appearance of China Town in many major cities in the United State of America. The popular trend of ordering or opting for Chinese take away food isn't unknown in America. Chinese take away food comes to rescue when you're too tired from work or too exhausted to cook. No one can resist the temptation of eating spicy noodles, shrimp, chicken, beef or pork cooked in the sweet and spicy sauce. The cooking method of authentic Chinese food is a lot different compared to what is served in America.

Generally, Chinese use dark meat small bones and organs to cook dishes but this changes when you are eating American-Chinese fusion food prepared using white boneless meat cooked with broccoli, carrots and onions. Back in China, the food is less spicy and oily as they favor steaming and braising method for cooking the most popular dishes. So, if you have a taste for authentic Chinese food, then try finding a real Chinese restaurant in the city. You can also try the most popular fusion Chinese food like Pecking Duck, Chicken Feet, Hot Pot, Shrimp Dumpling Soup, Mapo Tofu, Wontons, Chop Suey, Egg Rolls and not to forget Fortune Cookies.
