I've been to Bar Louie in Mishawaka, IN so I'm familiar with the chain. Great service, nice waitress, very nice overall. I recommend the Breakfast Tacos!

Not impressed. Ordered room service so I could keep working on this work trip. Food comes and there is no itemized ticket. Isn't that kind of standard for business travelers?? Next, 18% gratuity added automatically.. while I normally wouldn't mind this, here is the problem.. IN THE HOTEL ROOM, the menu says 15% will be added. I work for a very prudent and frugal non profit and they will not allow a reimbursement for 18%. Because the room menu said 15% would be added, I gave the guy an extra $3. Then found out they put 18% on the ticket. Shady practice. Last thing, probably the worse.. I got ONE fork to eat with and it was dirty! Ugh... Should I make the guy come back a third time (remember he had to run and get me an itemized receipt). Nope, Tots turned into sloppy finger food instead. Food was so-so. I have had better at Applebees or Chili's. Not impressed.

I've been to bar Louie before and my last experience at a different location was good but this time not so much. My friend and I both wanted a martini. I always get the effen good on the rocks because I know I like it and I'm pretty picky. It was delicious as usual. My friend was asking the bartender about the diva martini and asked whether or not she liked it and how sweet it is. The bartender admitted to us she had never tried it and she could make it if my friend didn't like it she would make her something else. That's one of my biggest pet peeves when I go to a restaurant and the server or bartender is not familiar with what they're selling. It took her awhile to make the drinks also and the diva martini was pretty sugary. We got the spinach and artichoke dip as an app and it was decent nothing special. We then shared the buffalo chicken flatbread. I asked the bartender whether or not it was spicy and she said it had a kick (I hate spicy food). It came out, I tried it and it was extremely spicy for my taste. If it hadn't been so hot I would've really liked it. I'm sure it was another thing the bartender had never tried. She also did not know what types of tequila they carried or prices of drinks. All in all I think they need to train their staff better on items they are selling. I won't be back to this location.

Was staying at the Holiday Inn, so went to Bar Louie several times. Cons- wait times for service and food. Sometimes, it took 20 minutes to get a glass of wine, while my companion who ordered a mixed drink was served almost immediately. Bar food was very good, but breakfast buffet not so hot. In fact, overpriced. Pros - staff provided cups of coffee gratis for my 80 year mom, who was really needing some extra octane to get through a wedding weekend packed full of events. Free coffee doesn't sound like much until it's your 80 year old mom that needs it! Also, waitress named Yoly did a great job the morning we left, service was fast! Gotta give them props!

The food was ok not by any means good just ok. Service on the other hand was terrible from the rude hostess to the server who only came back once during our 1 1/2 hour stay, to the bus boy who ignored us. We only ordered burgers and after about an hour the server came out and said " oh the burgers haven't come yet". This service is a joke I ate my burger with no drink cause the beer I ordered when we first sat down came 1 hour later.

Hubby and I came in for $1 burger night and had a really nice evening. This Bar Louie location is in Skokie's really nice Holiday Inn (nicer than most) and it's a great place to go if you're looking for a sports bar or a casual meal. The decor is really nice and the restaurant is a good size. We sat in front of one of the flat screens, so hubby was happy! The burgers are $1 but you do pay extra for cheese, vegetables and other toppings, and sauces. These all range between 25 and 75 cents so while it seems like they're nickel and diming you, your total burger will still cost less than burgers at most other places and about the same as fast food places, but much better!! And they're huge! I would have taken a picture if I had remembered but it was so delicious that I was focused on my food! I was only able to eat 1/2 and I only had a few fries because I didn't want to feel stuffed. A basket of fries or tater tots is $4.50, but one is more than enough for two people. I'm glad we ordered one to share. On Tuesdays they have $3.50 or $5 draft beers (the $5 glass is quite large). They also have select appetizers at 1/2 price until 7:00. We had two orders of the boneless wings, which come with several different sauce options. We chose the Szechuan, which had just the right amount of sweet, and the Buffalo which had a good kick. Those come with carrots and celery and your choice of Bleu cheese or ranch. Music was blasting and while it wasn't our cup of tea, it was tolerable. Our server was courteous and attentive, and we had no complaints at all. We were too full for dessert this time, but we really like this place and will be back.

Parking is sometimes difficult. You might need to park in the back, which might not be the safest for women walkin alone. It's all about the $1 burgers on Tuesdays. You'll get nickel and dimed for everything else though; condiments, cheese, toppings, fries, etc. their specialty burgers are also available on discount for $3.50 A myriad of drinks and concoctions with TVs and a cool vibe. It's clean. Service is okaaaay... It gets the job done, for sure. But I think Tuesdays are typically the only days I frequent Bar Louie. Btw... The chocolate cake was amazing. Super rich and sinful.

Been to about many Bar Louie's in the Chicago area and this is one of my favorites. Is located inside of a hotel and is very spacious. It was a lot more organized compare to the other Bar Louie's I been to. They have happy hours/specials everyday( all Bar Louie's do). You must try the boneless wings with En Fuego suace.

Stayed at Holiday Inn Expresses before. Consistent Bar Louie expectation delivered. Nice clean, modern, friendly staff. The manager even assisted me during his quick meal break. Very nice!! This hotel sucks big time. See separate review. Maybe I can sleep here in the bar booth?

Popped in here for a late night/after shift beer, the manager, Kevin, welcomed me in right away. It was late and they were cleaning but the bar tender and Kevin both gave me very hospitable attention. I didn't order food, however I've eaten at bar loud before and never been disappointed. I ordered a shot and a beer (typical, I know) and while I was enjoying my Oktoberfest we were all talking and having a good time. Highly recommend, the service was great and friendly from what I experienced.

Bar Louie? It's convenient if you're staying on business long term (like myself) but after 2 months of spending money there (daily) I got to see more drama than I cared to deal with. Bar management stands around while the bartenders apologize for running out of wine selections and struggles with a lack of glasses, silverware and plates. Complain about the service and they just say they're busy and walk away rudely. Order the meatball appetizer that you cannot drive a knife through and they'll just take it off the bill and walk away. Basically nobody that works there cares about service, quality of food or basic guest protocol. They will serve warm wine because they had to run to the back and take it out of a box but never bother to chill it for you. Ask them for "what is actually chilled?" and you'll regret the response, remember that you're the enemy and not a guest. Don't bring it up, anything at all, or they will snap at you and walk away. Finally one day, after 2 months, I met a friend there (who isn't a hotel guest). The bartender gave her several free drinks "on him". After a while I finally said what about me? He rudely grabbed an empty bottle and placed it in front of me, then stormed away without a word. For some reason they become complacent with long term guests and begin to view them as "peers" rather than "guests" and the tactless service becomes worse. I complained about this episode because it was over the top and the next evening he called me into the corner of the bar, away from cameras, and completely yelled at me with his finger in my face. He proceeded to hand me a check with 9 drinks on it claiming I requested shots for the entire bar! Fraudulent revenge from this bartender, borderline criminal behavior. You almost have to laugh at the audacity of an idiot like this who's afraid of losing his job and yet behaves more outrageously rude and unprofessional than the day before! Bizarre So another 6 weeks to go and they won't get a single penny out of me. I was spending more in that bar than my room charge so I hope they miss the tips. There is plenty of competition nearby who have better food and prices, great service as well. It's a shame that Holiday Inn would risk their reputation by allowing this poorly managed bar with subpar food and rude service continue down this path. Most of the new employees are friendly and about 2 of the others. If you're lucky enough to have this rare experience then you'll enjoy watching a game in the dismal darkness of this hole in the wall. Be sure to order only deep fried food to make sure it's fresh, well "fresh frozen". Everything else gets sent back, I've seen countless plates get dumped (untouched) while the bartenders ridicule the guests behind their back for returning it. Scary enough not to eat there! Breakfast is stellar, and their only redemption. The buffet is fresh, hollandaise delicious and morning service is very friendly! UPDATE: now the bar manager says I'm not allowed in there anymore. They can't even own up to their mistakes, horrible place. Entered the restaurant last night and they said I could sit there but they refused to serve me. They had security sit next to me. All this from a yelp review about poor service? They need a lawsuit slapped on their unprofessional, irrational behavior. Freedom of speech no longer exists in the U.S.?

My friends and I came specifically for Bar Louie's Tuesday night happy hour special which is $1 burgers with the purchase of a drink from 5pm until closing. PROS 1)$1 burger - enough said 2)Strong drinks - I ordered an Old Fashioned and I couldn't finish it since it was almost straight whiskey..blechhh. I wanted to try something new since I'm more of a beer or mojito type...never again! haha 3)Nice, relaxed atmosphere and we never felt rushed to leave CONS 1)Poor service - our waitress was EXTREMELY slow, never refilled our waters unless we asked, and checked on us only a couple times throughout our meal 2)$1 burger consists of just the burger, each additional topping costs extra This is a decent place to have happy hour with friends/coworkers but I would probably check out the Mount Prospect Location next time and hopefully they'll have better service.

Ordered take out grilled chicken sandwich for my husband -- I specifically asked if the sandwich was a 'decent size' (meaning "man sized") so that my husband would have enough to eat for dinner. Arrived to pick up food and sandwich was super teeny tiny and sliced avocado was brown. Girl who took my order on the phone was nice, but that didn't make up for the subpar size of the sandwich -- probably won't be back anytime soon

Been here a couple times, most recently on $1 burger Tuesday's which was also happy hour (3-7) I think with 1/2 off apps. The burgers are not bad but expect to pay for every topping. They got good variety of beers. The place looks amazing, nice big TVs, modern clean, great service. It just lacks a atmosphere, lacks that something special, it's just simply a very nice hotel bar.

Mediocre at best. So we were in town figured to save time we would check out Bar Louie. My food arrived cold not tepid but absolutely cold including the fries. Great just how I like my chicken cold with a side of cold french fries... I would have complained to the waitress except we never saw her again, she wasn't even the one who brought us the food out. But I digress on top of the cold food it wasn't even that good. It tasted off like something you throw in a microwave. Honestly, I regret the money we had to pay for our meal here that night. I personally know I would have been happier with some apps at a local bar. at least that would have been warm.

Im at regular at Bar Louie Skokie. I especially like going for the UFC fights and service is good good is good and they have plenty of tv's! But today by far was the worst. Went there to check out the UFC fight and the hawks game, yea it was busy for the hawks game but once that ended me and my friends table was 1 out of 3 tables in the back room. Our server checked on us maybe 1 every 30 mins we had to go to the bar and get our own drinks. And to put the cherry on top some one pulled the fire alarm! We asked to speak to the manager some big guy with a beard and he was like oh we were busy and walked away! Horrible Leadership there! This is my last time going there! They lost a loyal customer!

One of the worst levels of service I've experienced. The staff was completely unaware of their surroundings. Several tables came in and left while we were there because no one came up to serve them. There were 3 people on staff and literally only 5 tables! The drinks were very slow and not good, the food took over 30 minutes to come out (1 was a salad...) and the bill was almost $50 for 1 drink and 2 lunches. (they took 1 drink off the bill since I sent it back). I don't blame the staff, I blame management. This team seemed to have zero training or customer awareness which caused several potential guests to get up and leave. This place is inside a huge hotel, its a captive audience without any competition but yourselves!

Worst sport bar ever been. Service was horrible she took forever to bring our drinks. We where there for four hours and the server only check up with us 2 times if we were ok, also we ask for some appetizers and she never brought us napkins and plates we had to ask other server for it and at the end we ask to speak with the manager and random guy came to us and he didn't care about our complains. I think they need to have a more professional team

I come here on a pretty regular basis to watch a sports game and have some food and drinks. The prices are reasonable and they have a lot of good specials during the week. My favorite special being the half-price appetizers between 4 PM and 7 PM. I've always had a positive experience with the servers too. The place never seems too crowded either, so it's a pretty comfortable place. I think that the food is also tasty, and that the drinks are well-made.

Great place. Never crazy madness unlike buffalo wild wings across the street. Great layout. Comfy bench seating. Typical bar food. One star deducted, because of the lackluster service we always seem to get. We feel abandoned and a bother when we have to wave the server down. Also, went there this past Sat, 05/17/14 at 20:45 and they were out of Blue Moon, Bud lite, Coors Light...REALLY?!?! :/

It isn't every time you eat out you can expect good service. In fact, sonetimes it feels more like rarely. Well someone did something right at this place! From my breakfast servers Ashley and Yoley to my dinner server and bartender Breanna, I have had GREAT service. Other staff kindly greets me or says good morning/evening as they pass by. The restaurant is clean and music nice and at a pleasant volume. I would highly recommend this restaurant (and not just as a hotel guest), a place you can really enjoy the whole dining experience!

I found the waitstaff to be horribly rude and had no knowledge of what they offered. When asked about an up charge for a side, was given a response that "the menu is wrong". Is it really that hard to change regular tots to loaded tots, as the menu states?? The rest of the visit was just as unpleasant, maybe it was just the waitress. Either way, in no rush to go back.

    (1)
  • James D.

Food mediocre at best and VERY overpriced. Do not do the $1 burger Tuesday as it is not for ANY of the burgers on the menu even though it reads that way. You are not told this by the menu, only find out after you get the bill and are charged full price! Very deceptive!!!

Came in here last weekend... we were visiting some friends so stop by this location for the very first time. What a disaster exprience... waited 15 min for our waitress to come by . our waitress was so rude.. it seems like she didnt wanted to be there... rush us through our orders..we order 2 burgers.. ask for no onions.. came out over cooked and onions.. the meat taste like bricks.. the buns was too soggy.. ask for a manager.. our waitress point him out a big gentlemen and told us he will be over shortly.. after 20 min wait.. ..... we wait for 20 minuite couldnt wait any longer... so we just decided to leave what kind of establishment is this???? Maybe they need to hire new staff and a manager that cares...... Bar louie near my location is not like this... very very dissapointed i will neva visit this skokie location ever again.. such a disgrace to the franchise of bar louie...

It's my understanding that "seat yourself" implies that servers would be attentive enough to attend to your table within 15 minutes of seeing you sit down. Guess that doesn't apply to this place.

    (1)
  • Ted C.

Oh man, I guess I'm the duke of this place? How did that happen? Oh, I guess 1 dollar burger night draws me in. The place is good for groups, but only if the people you're coming here with arrive in onesies and twosies and you all want to order at the same time; because the second a server comes to your table and you tell him or her that you're waiting for more folks they'll turn around and you won't see them for another 10-15 minutes or so. The burgers are smaller than the average and if you're like me and stack them up with toppings and add tots or fries it's actually kinda the same price or more. I know the sign says 'Bar' Louie but the way the pump the music up if a game isn't on seems to think they want to be 'Club' Louie. Their beer selection is good and for Skokie it's not too bad, it's either this place or the Chammp's at Old Orchard and they plain suck.

I am writing this review to bring to all my readers' attention a serious incident I had in this establishment during my dining experience with my fiance (10-29-2013 @ 7:15 P.M.) at the Bar Louie location inside of the Holiday Inn at 5300 Touhy Avenue Skokie, IL 60077. I would consider myself a regular at this location and have attended "Dollar Burger" night almost every Tuesday evening for the past 3 to 4 months. This letter is regarding an altercation with one of the waitress/servers named Caitlin. Everything started off fine, we were seated at a booth with a waitress that we have had on numerous occasions however we asked to switch to a table because we did not have an adequate view of the televised basketball game being shown on many of the televisions. Once we switched to the table we were assigned a new waitress, named Caitlin. She took our order for drinks as well as a couple sides to start off quickly and we had no problem up to this point. We then ordered our burgers. We typically order the same meal every time we patron this establishment. I order a beef burger with toppings and my boyfriend orders a chicken sandwich or turkey burger with toppings, he avoids red meat due to health reasons. We initially received our food very promptly and dug in. This is where the problem started, after finishing nearly half of his burger my fiance realized that it was a beef burger and not the chicken burger that he ordered. Due to the basketball game and not paying attention he didn't even realize it at first. Caitlin was informed of this and said she would ask in back and see if it could be switched out. She came back to our table and said that because he had eaten half of the food she couldn't offer a refund or a discount which we were totally fine with and gave no resistance to paying for that. We then, once again, ordered a chicken sandwich with the same toppings. Caitlin then took orders from another table seating 6 people right next to us before putting our correct order back into the kitchen. We waited more than 20 minutes for our food to arrive and unfortunately had to leave right as the chicken burger came out because of other plans that evening. I do understand that this is a busy night for the Bar Louie Franchise. I asked Caitlin if it would be alright considering the circumstance if we could get a box to take our burger to-go, understanding totally that it is against "Dollar Burger" night policy. She refused to get us a box and did not take blame for the mistake of initially bringing the wrong food saying and I quote "I didn't mess anything up, things happen sometimes" At this point I started to get angry because we really did have to go and we were getting left with no options and certainly no courtesy. This is where things escalated. I felt wronged and asked to speak with a manger. Caitlin kept talking over me speaking about policy which I told her I understood but wished to speak with a manger who could make that sort of decision in the first place. She refused to get the manager and kept trying to speak over me. Things quickly got out on control as I told her I was done talking to her and looked away with my hand blocking her view. Keep in mind, I was sitting down without my arms extended (she was across the table) and she remarked "DON'T YOU PUT YOUR HANDS IN MY FACE!" I'm sure if there was video of what took place you could easily see that I was seated in a non threatening manner. Then admittedly I became angry and said, "get me your F-ing Manager" and Caitlin refused to get the manager saying, "don't tell me what to f-ing do!" The obscenities that were exchanged on her part, which believe me I'm not proud of on mine, were inexcusable. At the same time, I have never been so angry at a restaurant in my life. Keep in mind this location was full of guests and nearly every table was occupied, along with small children at the table within an earshot. The altercation ended with Caitlin calling me a "F#ucking Bitch" slamming the chair that was directly next to me into my table (where I then felt directly threatened that she was going to strike me in anger) and storming off while the whole restaurant was staring at us. This is 100% unacceptable, I can admit that I am no saint but to be cursed out in the middle of a crowded restaurant by a waitress is completely outrageous. Also the manager on duty, I believe her name was Katherine (only manager on duty at time she claimed) was very nice and understanding of our situation and defused the situation with no further incident. I felt as though Caitlin acted very unprofessional. As a paying customer, I feel as though I should never feel directly threatened to be stricken by an employee. Ps. They tried offering me a measly $25 dollars as a gift certificate for my silence....uhhh nope!

Service was fast and friendly. Server was helpful in recommending things to try. The atmosphere was fun and easygoing. Not very busy when I went (Sunday night). We had a very large group of people (12), but everyone was satisfied. Food was tasty and priced about right.

Went there on a Friday night. Service seemed understaffed. Food was ok, for the price. Would have to edit this after I try $1 burgers on Monday

The staff, in my opinion, are under paid. The quality of service is top notch. From the GM down! This is by far, my favorite bar of bars! $1 burgers start on Tuesdays early evenings w/purchase of a beverage (dine-in only). They are normally a $10 burger (and it tastes like it too). So why would you post a bad review when they accidentally give you a wrong order on a D-O-L-L-A-R burger !?! And you ate it already !?! I'm flipping going bonkers over this fat ass! Oh yeah, did I mention it was only $1 !!!!???!!! And to go as far as to write a 2 page bad review over it really sickens me! I applaud the staff that is scheduled to work on Tuesdays that have to deal w/people like that. 20% tip on a $1 burger is only 20¢ ! Not even a quarter!

I walked in on a Monday night to grab some dinner with friends, the place was pretty dead, but that didn't bother me. It was rainy and gross outside, so that may have impacted the crowd. Happy hour goes from 3-7 and they offer half price small plate appetizers - chips and guacamole, hot wings, brushcetta, etc. We went the trio of chips and dips which included salsa, queso, and guacamole for $3.50. Not bad. I think $1 burgers were a special on Tuesdays too. I was disappointed to hear there were no drink specials on a Monday. Boo. I think there are buckets of beer specials one night - maybe Wednesday? Beer, wine, cocktail list was extensive. I ended up with a glass of white wine, and one of my friends ordered a sangria. In my group of 3 - 2 of us ordered the ham, turkey, and brie panini (for $9) and 1 ordered the tacos (I think $12?). One panini was ordered without ham, but it came with ham anyways. And the food took a really, really long time to come out. I mean, there were maybe 3 other tables in the whole restaurant. What gives? The decor was nice and modern. I would guess that the restaurant got recently re-done. Very inviting, and I loved the huge booths. The temperature was pretty arctic though. Maybe we were sitting under a vent, but we were all pretty cold. Out waitress was nice, and checked on us often. She was able to respond to our every request. She didn't try to rush us, it would have been surprising since the place wasn't busy, but we were there for quite a while - more than 2.5 hours. We'll likely be back, maybe on $1 Burger Night.

I won't even give this place a star. Called in for take out I ordered the Tuscan Chicken Pasta. The way the menu describes sounded delicious until I ate it. The worst Alfredo sauce I've ever had. It's supposed to be creamy not watery. Get it together. Very under seasoned. Do you guys know what salt and pepper is ? By the way it was my first time trying the place. Never ordering food from there again.

I've been here several times as a local, and have never been disappointed. They have dollar burger night on Tuesday, and $2 domestic bottles/$5 martinis on Wed. Great place. I love their Mac&cheese. Also had the winter sangria, and I loved it. Open late, and usually good service.

I was here for a seminar and had to pre-order my lunch. They were very efficient in getting our orders in. When we broke for lunch, my food was brought out to me within minutes, hot & fresh. I had the burger and fries. It was juicy and loaded with veggies (lettuce, tomatoes, onions, & pickle). I ordered med rare which was cooked perfectly. The fries were crisp & seasoned with a hint of lime taste. Overall, my meal was satisfying & the service was friendly and quick! I would come again. Note: 1/2 price small plates mon-fri 4pm & $1 burgers on Tuesdays!

Worst service I've ever witnessed. I hate giving 1-star reviews. It means that nothing was really good about the place. After driving by this location a million times and seeing the $1 dollar burger Tuesday ads, I felt inclined to visit at least once. Went in last night with my friend after work. We chose to sit at the bar after reading all the reviews about negligent service at the tables. Since the bartender couldn't ignore us, we were approached immediately. We ordered two burgers from the $1 burger menu. However, I wanted a specialty burger so it was $4.50 plus $.25 for the extra mayo that I wanted on the side. We also got two beers. No problems there. However, due to the poor reviews, I was very observant of how the table diners were being treated. The bar was a perfect place to do this. One table had to get up and come to the bar to get the server's attention. Another table ended up leaving after not receiving their drinks in a timely manner (and it was a big order too.) Another table had to flag someone down after being ignored for at least 15 minutes, and one family looked really lost and confused when different servers walked past and no one even acknowledged them. This was all on a Tuesday night. It wasn't packed. And I saw enough staff to accomodate everyone. I would say the main issue is that it's very disorganized. I witnessed an argument over who was supposed to get what table. This should never happen in front of customers. Towards the end of our meal (we ate rather quickly since we wanted to get out of that mess, we couldn't find our bartender. Apparently she is also a manager and had to go serve drinks to her tables since the servers were all confused. There were also moments when it seemed like everyone was in the kitchen and no one was on the floor. All the staff members were on the young side. There wasn't anyone who looked in charge or an authority figure. I think the only reason they're still in business is because of the hotel and the decent beer selection for the area. I don't plan on ever coming back. Not even if the burgers were free.

Open relatively late and a real surprise to have at the Holliday Inn. Nice to get back to the hotel and still have a decent place to eat late or have a good drink. Staffed very well for a chain.

I stayed at the Holiday Inn in Skokie for several days and I ate at the Bar Louie several times. I always had good service there. The staff was very prompt, professional and friendly, and made some excellent suggestions for drinks and meals. The food is standard American diner fare and the prices are reasonable for the area. The bar is well-stocked and the bartenders were marvelous. I definitely recommend them.

The host last night (12/28/13) was really, really rude and should be terminated for giving me the worst customer service ever. I had a party of 8 and there were 2 seperate 4-seater tables right by each other. The host sat us at 2 different tables that were NOT close to each other. I explained to him why can't we have those 2 tables that are right by each other so we can be close? (Knowing we can't reserve tables for this specific night) I asked: Are those tables reserved? He replied "Sir, I do not want to start an argument with you. It's either this table or I'm going to have to ask you to leave." HORRIBLE ANSWER! I will NEVER come back ever again! On a side note, he doesn't know I take Krav Maga so congrats to him. He's #1 on my punching bag list.

For awhile my buddy had been telling me to check out this Bar Louie because of their burger special Tuesdays. From time to time he'd text or call to see if I'd join him and alike I would tell him of the many burger specials available all around Chicago with the same deals and a lot of the time offered as Angus. Still, without fail, there was DK to convince me to try out Bar Louie. So, I did. Damn good burgers. The meat is tasty although it is not spiced. On Tuesdays it's offered for One dollar. You have the options of beef, chicken, turkey or portobello mushroom. Any toppings are an additional fifty cents. Fries or tots, $4 for a basket. How crazy right? Their standard burger is about $10 dollars, so this deal is a friggin' steal! Often times you can find couples young and old as well as families with small children. A great spot to have a beer with the guys or have a decent meal / affordable date. The bar is lively, usually. Most often there is something happening, even on a Tuesday evening. A banquet of some kind, meetings of another kind or some sort of event drawing crowds to the hotel. The bar has got plenty of wide, flat screen TVs all showing every kind of sports programming and one boring news channel. Just today I noticed that they have got a few party games available for your group to enjoy. Party games like Apples to Apples, Jenga or trivia. Pretty good menu & decent beer offering, just like all the other Bar Louie's. Better staff more often than not. Though I kind of prefer sitting at the bar. Bartenders are more likely to facilitate a second drink or refill in a timely manner, whereas waiters / waitresses are often busy. Since it's situated within a hotel it's a much nicer atmosphere and surrounding. All dark woods, comfortable chairs and pub style seating. Clean atmosphere. Good stuff.

Just came here for lunch today and was pleasantly surprised. They have a $7.99 lunch and drink combo, which didn't seem to be the best deal, so I just went off the menu. I ordered the grilled shrimp po' boy and enjoyed it thoroughly! The bread was fresh and soft and shrimp were cooked perfectly. I will be craving this shortly! My colleagues all really liked their lunches too - glad that we have a new place close to work! The restaurant was pretty dead for lunch, but we had EXCELLENT service. The waitress was seamless, but somehow all of our drinks were always filled and the crumbs/water drops were wiped off the table a minute after their creating.

I'm definitely not someone who goes out of their way to write a review, but felt it was necessary in this case. The service I received here Saturday night was the worst I've ever experienced at any establishment. From the moment we walked in and sat down, our server acted like we were inconveniencing her. Our drinks repeatedly sat empty for long periods of time (longer than 20 minutes), resulting in me having to flag her down. There were maybe 15-20 people in the entire bar, it wasn't like they were overly busy. The last straw was the fact that we had a view of the kitchen from the table, and every few minutes we could see our waitress pop out to look at our clearly empty drinks, and wouldn't come over to ask if we wanted refills. When she finally made it over, empty drinks still in hand, the first question she asked was if we wanted our check! Have visited here multiple times in the past and never had a problem, this experience makes it doubtful I will return.

My coworkers and I hit this place about once a week and always enjoy the visit. It's an odd location, tucked deep inside a Holiday Inn--as all Bar Louie restaurants now seem to be--but once inside it feels like a better-than-decent sports bar. The lunch specials are a deal at $8.00, the food is pretty good, and the service generally excellent. The menu is a little limited for me as a vegetarian, and on off days the kitchen can be slow, but for the most part, this is a very nice lunch stop.

Doing a little post-Christmas return to the Best Buy out this way really stirred up out appetites! As we both complained of our hunger and discussed how we never think to look at my Yelp bookmarks before we leave the house, we approached Bar Louie. My husband said " I've never been to Bar Louie." Knowing they have a number of vegetarian options, I agreed & we went to the Bar Louie in the Holiday Inn. Atmosphere is pretty typical of a bar/restaurant, in particular of the chain variety. Since neither of us cares to watch sports, we sought a table away from TVs. Our server was nice, though as I ordered one of their special hot chocolate drinks, the bartender yelled from 10 feet away that they were out of hot chocolate. He went on to add that they were out of all the special drinks. Really? Anyway, I ordered my dessert first in the form of an indulgent S'mores martini. It was awesome. We started with truffle oil popcorn, which was delicious. However, when I ordered a flatbread as my entree, I found they were also out of flatbread. Again I ask, really? I asked what else she was out of and as she started to tell me I stopped her, said I didn't really want to know, and ordered the portabella burger. It was okay--a little small. One small mushroom cap wasn't really enough. Most places will give 2 if they're of that size. Decent tasting. Hubby had a burger & said it was pretty good. The side of broccoli was just steamed (or parboiled), no seasoning. I'd go back for another s'more martini & some popcorn if I were in the neighborhood.

I've been here on a few occasions and usually tend to go to the one in downtown Evanston which is phenomenal and has superb service. What can I say about this location though? This place has by far the worst service I've ever received at a restaurant. This is by no means an observation from one experience...I've actually made the mistake of coming here on several different occasions. If you're sitting at the bar the service is fine when you want to get a few drinks. I went here on Saturday night and was going to have 5-6 more friends meet me here for a friends going away party, dinner, and drinks. When I entered there were 2 hostess who told me to sit wherever I'd like. So I did and waited...and waited...and eventually walked out the door(guess this place doesn't want to make money.) I literally sat at the table with a friend for 25 minutes without so much as a single employee approaching or acknowledging us. It wasn't like the place was busy either maybe 4 tables. I saw one waitress go up to the hostess stand and stand there for a good 8 minutes doing nothing I mean what else would one do at the hostess stand except just stand there? And those two hostesses who greeted us disappeared after we sat down they were never to be seen again. The management must be allowing nap times or something. When we left we decided to at least make someone aware and told someone behind the bar who might have been the manager but who knows. He apologized and offered us a drink but I wasn't looking for a free drink I was looking to sit down for an enjoyable evening with some friends(we took our money to Brick near by)...NEVER GOING BACK AGAIN! Now I mentioned this was not the only occasion so I'll go to the last time I was here. My friend was in town on leave from the military. He was staying at the hotel so we decided to go down to eat. We stood at the hostess stand where it says wait to be seated. No one showed up. After 7 minutes of the bartenders staring at us with a glazed look someone came from the hotel lobby and said "hello welcome!" to which I could only respond "no, welcome to you!" She sat us down at a table and once again it was not busy(clearly from all the clientele they're driving away) We sat there and waited 15 minutes to finally get in our order for food and some beers. Now the food took a good 40 minutes to get to us which wouldn't have been bad if the waitress had come back to refill our beers, if she had done that I would have left a good tip still and not been as upset but she didn't come to ask if we wanted more to drink or for refills on our water not even while we were eating did we get anything else to drink I felt like I was in the orphanage in Oliver Twist asking for more porridge. She didn't even deliver our food to us, she had someone else do it for her because she was so busy with maybe 2 other tables who were also visibly frustrated or she just was afraid to come out of the back in fear of having to work. After our food was done it took her another 20 minutes to bring the bill. This was the first time I had ever not left someone a tip....not even a penny for her! I've never been so upset that I felt obliged to go onto the internet to write a review. But I don't want other paying customers to experience this nonsense. If I owned this place I would fire everyone with the exception of 1 or 2 of the bartenders. The manager should be first to go since they're allowing this nonsense to happen. This place is an abomination.

Met up at Bar Louie with a few co-workers for a late-ish (7pm) self-proclaimed happy hour last week (I'm a little hyphen-happy today!) The entire restaurant was pretty dead at 7pm, which was a little surprising. Maybe because everyone is winding down from the holidays? We had two servers, our first got cut halfway through our time there, which I'm never too keen on. It's a pain to close out with one server and have to re-open a tab with another, but both were friendly. The draft beer list is extensive, which I enjoy. The menu was okay, nothing really struck my eye, and our first server recommended the "amazing" mac and cheese. When I asked what made it amazing, she said "it has FOUR CHEESES!" So I said, great, what types of cheese? She couldn't tell me, only that it was really REALLY good. After consulting with another server to make sure that there was no ricotta cheese (I'm severely adverse!) I ordered it. It was okay... not life-changing as she had made it out to be. If I make it back to Bar Louie, it will probably be for drinks only, skip the food.

Have visited a few times now so I thought I would finally get around to review. The remodeled space is very cozy and comfortable, especially the big booths on the wall. The beer selection is very good with about 2 dozen interesting selections. However the beer seems to always come out without a head no matter what I order. I attribute this to poor pours or their delivery system. The servers are young but attentive and friendly. The food has always been pretty good but nothing that leaves an impression. Some of the salads are very good and they usually have some kind of special during the week depending on the night. My biggest gripe is the loud dance music that always seems to be playing. Being a restaurant in a hotel - the music certainly does not appeal to the majority of the customers so I would really like them to lose the 80s dance crap.

Terrible service. Terrible management. My boyfriend and I had 2 complimentary drink coupons that they wouldn't honor because the server from another Bar Louie failed to have them initialed with an expiration date. (Um...as the paying customer who received those drink tickets as a "thank you" from our server...how is that my fault?) Management was BEYOND rude and insulting.

the only downside is parking sucks. it may be tough to find a spot because its attached to a holidae inn. extensive food and drink menu and daily specials. $2 pbr and $3 red stripe on saturdays and $2 burgers on tuesdays, cant go wrong with that. the buffalo chicken pizza is so good, also the philly burger and their fish and chips is deliciious! u can taste the freshness of the fish and its not salty at all unlike other places! will definitely be back!

While staying at the Holiday Inn, I visited Bar Louie on a Friday night. I had a burger which was very good. The only issue I had was that the bottom bun of my burger was so soggy when I got it, I actually ended up eating the burger with a fork and knife, since picking it up was so messy and the bun was falling apart. Other than that, the burger I had (something with bleu cheese and worcestershire sauce) was good. Their draft beer comes as a 14 or 20 oz, which is nice when you want more than one but not quite two beers. There were several tvs to watch and they played good music, which made the atmosphere enjoyable.

The absolute worst service i've ever gotten. The food is good. Decently sized portions. But the service was atrocious. I walked in, nobody was at the front to greet or sit people. So I sat myself. I read the menu and waited probably 10 minutes and it wasn't until I got up and asked "Is there a waiter or server around?" that they followed me to my table because the 2 servers were too busy sitting at booth watching the football game. I ordered my food. And a beer. I waited probably 15 minutes for the beer. I ordered a chicken sandwich (which was good) but wanted to substitute the tots and fries for a side of mac and cheese. I asked one of the two servers that would occasionally ask if it was ok? He said "uhh..I don't know let me see" (mind you, the menu says it ok for a $1 up charge), so he asked the other server and she came by and asked if we wanted that and what else we wanted? (I had made no other request besides that) and the other server had to tell her "oh no it's not them, it's that other table. My girlfriend ordered a bbq salad with grilled chicken. However, when the salad came there was no chicken in it. Finally when the I asked for the bill that took another 10 minutes, then I paid and I paid using a gift card and the waitress says "just so you know...you can't tip on the gift card", fine, but I needed change..so I told the other server "can I get change for this $20?" and he says "oh she'll come by soon"..waited another 5 minutes and he walks by again and says "she hasn't gotten you change?" I say "no, she hasn't" and he gets me my change. There was also a form I was supposed to fill out for the gift card but the waitress left no pen. I didn't even bother filling it out so I just left without even saying anything. As I was leaving, the waitress saw me leave and I think it's customary (or at least, courteous) to say something along the lines of "thank you, have a good night" but no, instead she just looked at us and walked away. I'll be sure to never be back here again. EDIT: I actually sent this review to Bar Louie as a complaint and I received a call from the general manager. Within 30-45 minutes of sending the email online I received a surpassing call. Very much appreciated.

Bar Louie in Skokie is much nicer than the one in Evanston. The decor is awesome and the crowd is great. Chicken melt is okay but came with dried up cheese and an oversized stale bun. Overall it was a good experience with good food. Music was way too loud, but definitely a place to go with a group of friends or a date to relax and eat food or even watch a sporting event. I'll be back.

Decided to stop by Bar Louie this evening to grab a quick drink with my friend for her birthday. We each ordered a glass of wine. Upon arrival, we noticed that both wine glasses had lip prints/lip gloss on them. Our waiter, who was super nice and apologetic, quickly sent the drinks back to the bar to get new ones. The bartender grabbed new glasses and proceeded to pour the previous wine (from the dirty) glasses into the new, clean glasses. Never have we been so disgusted!

The most redeeming aspect of having a Bar Louie in Skokie is that on any given evening the douchebag level of the surrounding bars will be lessened a wee bit. This place seems to attract douchebags like insects to a white light.

Eh, it's a chain bar/restaurant. Thus, the food was alright, dare I say bland? Nothing to be excited about. The staff, on the other hand, was super nice. Very attentive and helpful. I guess a little thing that irked was that they were eager -- eager to clear our plates quickly, make sure we ordered everything we wanted, got our check, etc. But nothing is wrong with that, I may just have issues. And! Monday nights they have pub trivia from 830 to 1030. Although it was fun, 2 hours is a lot..and drags. And it would have been even better if the staff was regulating because for sure the winning team cheated. This is starting to sound more like an angry rant due to bitterness than a review. Definitely go to pub trivia. It's fun, the host is awesome, and the prize is a free night's stay at Holiday Inn. Wooot!! I feel like there aren't many bar/restaurants in Skokie area, so this is really nice to have around.

I came here for two separate occasions. I went with my bf for the $1 burgers on a Tuesday. Our waitress was nice. Food came out in a reasonable amount of time. The food tasted great. I really love is the sweet potato fries too. For the second time, I came with a large group. There was a table big enough in a corner, but not enough chairs. None of the waitresses helped us as we grabbed chairs from random tables. It took forever for them to come back with our drinks too. As for food, they totally trick ya with the calamari. The bottom half is filled with lettuce, which makes it seem there's a lot of calamari in there. There wasn't; esp not enough for $8-$9.

Come on everyone, why no Bar Louie love? I came in here a couple of weeks ago at lunchtime with my son. Best martini ever! Dirty CEO with blue cheese olives....yum! I had the stockyard burger. Good going down. Yay! Good lunch place in Skokie

I came for the UFC fight and it wasn't that good. The audio wasn't on for the prelims like most places. However when it was on, the volume was good. Better than Village Inn (worst place for UFC). The service could be better, sometimes it was slow to get the drinks. The food was actually good. Atmosphere sucked thought for the fights. One thing I didn't like was, they didn't stretch out the whole screen like most places do. Avoid this place for UFC fights.

Been to the two downtown many times and I must admit that the quality is pretty much the same between them all which is a good sign. Service is always friendly, interactive and accommodating. And . . . the best part is that I consider their steak sandwich called the "Luigi" to be one of if not the best in the Chicagoland area. I have had many great steak sandwiches around the country but this one gets my clear vote as one you can depend on for a last minute "what should we do for lunch honey?" lunch. Today it was Bar Louie on Touhy. Hey . . . that rhymes!!!

The server was great, she was nice, on top of things and all. However, I believe the owners are stingy. It is a chain place, but I still like their food over all. I love their calamari. But I went in for $1 burgers and I don't eat all meats, only some seafood. Well I was told that they charge $1 extra if I want to substitute for the Veggie burger. I was like they don't charge $1 extra at the Bar Louie in Evanston. The server says the Veggie patties are more expensive and this Bar Louie is owned by the hotel owners it is a franchise location. I was like WTF, seriously, so it seems they must be using some really crappy meat is the veggie patty is costing more than the meaty burger. It's not about the extra $1 its the principle of the matter, even in america not everyone eats meat!!! Some people want to choose a healthier life style. Well either way I will try to avoid this Bar Louie as much as possible. I would not recommend going to a place with stingy owners, especially when it comes to food because who knows if they are cutting back on sanitation to save money.

Bar Louie is located in the Holiday Inn at the north east corner of Touhy and Carpenter. Its space formerly housed a hotel bar and an Indian restaurant. There's plenty of off-street parking. As you walk in you're greeted by female wait staff dressed in black short shorts (not that there's anything wrong with that) and a black t-shirt. There's a large bar with a number of tables and booths. The lighting is subdued, but not too dark. We sat in a semi-circular booth. Large flat screen TVs are everywhere. Our waitress (Liz) was polite, friendly, welcoming and did a great job of promoting Bar Louie without being aggressive. We went on a Tuesday evening for their dollar burgers. The burgers are their regular 8 oz hamburgers, however they charge for everything else (e.g. lettuce, mayo, cheese, onions, etc.) By 6 PM the place was hopping. The burgers were OK--cooked well-done to ensure safety (no choice here). They were served on a nice bakery-style bun. I ordered mine with cheddar cheese, grilled onions and mushrooms. Not bad. The fries are frozen--not fresh-cut, but were also OK, albeit a bit over salted. The Tuesday night burger special is a great deal. I'm not sure I would be as pleased if I had to pay $9 for the same burger on a different night. Still, it was a nice experience and I'll probably come back--possibly on a Sunday to watch the Bears--Da Bears.

Pretty great hotel sports bar located in the Holiday Inn in Skokie. I stayed at the Holiday Inn, so I naturally had to check out the scene at Bar Louie. I sat at the bar and ordered a couple of great beers. They serve draught beers in both 14 and 20 ounze glasses. Good service, great beer selection (over 50 to choose from) and ok bar food. I ordered the "4 Tacos" plate and chose the fish tacos. They were actually legit and with good salsa -- the tortillas were a little on the stale side, however, but it wasn't serious. All in all a pretty decent place with friendly service.

I've been coming here with friends the past few Mondays for Trivia Night at 8pm. Trivia is a blast and I get to flaunt my vast and completely useless knowledge of sports/tv/movie/music/pop-culture/literature/history/etc. I've been to other Bar Louie's and the decor is pretty much the same: urban pub trying to be up-scale but really is not. Which is fine. Plenty of booths, tables, and seats around the bar, lots of big LCD TVs to watch the Cubs suck (this coming from an avid Cubs fan). Service here is excellent. The waitresses are very nice and friendly and come by often to check on us (and root for us during trivia). They have your usual deals every night, and there is also a "beer of the month" which is reasonably priced. Everything else is priced like any other average pub in the city. One thing I will say is that I got an Old Fashioned here and did not enjoy it very much (not strong enough, and too much soda water to top it off -- would've preffered w/o soda but I didn't ask). Food here is okay. I ordered the Chicken Penne and one of my friends described it as "something she's seen at Baker's Square." Pasta was okay, nothing to write home about. Menu is a bit pricey for the food they serve IMO. In all, this is another nice new locale if you're stuck in the suburbs and want to take some friends to trivia night and have a beer or two.

I was a BarLouie junkie when we were working on Taylor Street. This location is way nicer, new, and huge. You can eat inside or outside in the hotel lobby. As far as that goes - i never knew that hotel was so pretty inside... Buffalo calamari, luigi, burgers yum. Happy hour specials. 1/2 price app deals. A new location coming to OHare I'm told!

This is a good hangout to catch up with a friend and watch a game, especially if you live close by. The bar food is alright, and the drinks are really good, if a little overpriced. No complaints about the service, always attentive and polite. Clean, nice place to stick around for a while. Never too crowded, which means it's quiet enough to talk, but there are always some people there, so it doesn't feel totally vacated. They have board games too. Lots of parking as well.

I Love Bar Louie in Skokie! This is the first time I am giving a Five Star Rating and it is well deserved to the Folks at Bar Louie in Skokie. Where to Begin, Okay, it is located in a Holiday Inn for Starters- A nice enough looking Holiday Inn, an even better looking Bar Louie. Not a very big Bar/ Restaurant but the whole Bar Louie Experience tonight definitely top notch. Comfortable and Casual, Jeans are Welcome Here! Some Booths(limited), tables, A Truly Beautiful Bar, Classic and Elegant at the same time- My Son Nick and I were seated at a table, tonight the U.F.C. fights were going on so the Bar was pretty crowded- Bar Louie has a Menu like none I have seen before, so many different Menu choices that I had never seen before.. And Drinks, they have this drink menu that of course I Loved, I had a Wonderful Concoction called a Strawberry Fizz which was ful of potent wonders, and then I had a Torched Cherry Lemonade which was really so good....(Okay, I will admit to 1 Miller Lite as well!.) My Son Nick had 2 Long Islands, usually my drink of choice but tonight I just had to try 2 new drinks off the Menu.. I was happy I did, I was Feeling Groovy! The Food at Bar Louie, just Excellent! Nick had a Baked Mac and Cheese Dish and I had the "Blue Moon" Fish and Chips Dinner, had to be the best ever! Menu prices for Food are Reasonable, Nothing too Extreme... But , Drinks can be pricey...,$9.00 per drink for Long Islands and for my "specialty cocktails" $9.00 per drink as well. Okay,so the Tab for 2 of us tonight was $91,00 before the Tip... I will Blame this on those Magical Cocktails that Bar Louie Serves... We had a great server named Creisse, she was so Sweet and gave us perfect Customer Service! I liked her so much, we exchanged names on our way out Okay, just had to have dessert as well, Nick had Mama's Banana Pudding and I had this Heavenly Campfire Crunch Delight with my Favorite Marshmallows! One of the best Evenings/Restaurant Experiences I've ever had! Bar Louie in Skokie, I applaud You!

I came here tonight with my boyfriend and I absolutely loved it. I am not quite sure where these bad reviews are coming from to be honest. We sat at the bar and were immediately helped by the bartender, Maria, who was super attentive and talkative the entire night. I ordered the "revive" while my boyfriend got a margarita and we were both more than happy about our selections. For an appetizer we got the hummus plate which was huge and delicious and for a main course I got the Hong Kong Salad or something like that with a perfectly cooked steak on top. My boyfriend got a delicious fish po'boy and loved it (the fries were amazing). All in all, we left super full, super happy, and wanting to return tomorrow. Way to go Skokie/Holiday Inn... you have yourself a regular. Update - my boyfriend went here yesterday night and one of the bartenders was SUPER rude to him (yelled at him!) and refused to play the bulls game over the music system even though everyone there was watching the game... knocking you guys down a star

This is a difficult place to evaluate. I've been here at least 5 times and the results have been mixed. I've been here in the evenings during the week and the food has been pretty good. The boneless wings, burgers, bacon cheeseburger sliders and philly sliders are all solid. Not great, but certainly good enough to enjoy with a few beers and the game on. The beer selection is expansive and the female bartender who tends bar during the week is friendly. Here's the problem: came here with the kids on a Saturday for lunch and the food was horrible. It's clear they must have different kitchen staff on the weekends. We ordered the Fried Louie Burger which comes with a fried egg, bacon and cheese. The burger came out with a RAW egg. Yes, a raw egg with a translucent white and uncooked yolk. To make matters worse, the burger was raw in the middle. Listen folks, I like my steak rare but this was completely uncooked in the middle. Outraged at how they could send out something so poorly prepared, I sent it back. In the meantime, our sliders came out...and they were burned to a crisp. I'm talking extremely charred, unrecognizable meat product on a roll. Sent that back too. My son's Louie burger came back with the egg fried properly but it appears that while they were cooking the egg, they left the fries under a heat lamp as the fries were burned to the point where they tasted like plywood...hard, dry and not tasting anything like a fry. Unacceptable that they would send food out with such low standards. No manager would come out and talk to us and to make matters worse, they did not give us replacement fries for the lincoln log-like ones they had burned for us. Parking can be tricky as the lot tends to fill up with both hotel guests and people attending meetings/events that are going on. Bottom line: Come to this Bar Louie in the evenings but proceed at your own risk if you come during the day on the weekends.

$1 Burgers on Tuesday consists of your choice of Beef, Turkey, Veggie or Chicken burger with lettuce and bun. All add-ons are 25-75 cents extra, mayo, cheese, bbq sauce, onions, tomato, bacon and so on. A basket of fries is $4 but it's enough for 2-3 ppl to share. Also appetizers are half price Mon-Fri til 7pm. Enjoy!

Other than hosting UFC PPV's this place serves up complete GARBAGE, teeeeerrible food and service with FLAT beer, considering that this place can accomodate a good deal of people with no problem, its a bit of a dissapointment that its food so lousy, I mean come on, if you can't even get chicken wings right you KNOW you have a hell of a problem......AVOID

Isn't technology great that I can rip this place while at the restaurant we left it for? Lets see. 20 minutes to get our drink order... No joke. We actually ordered and finished an appetizer before they came. The waitress couldn't even bring us water in the mean time.... Wtf? When we tried to wave down a manager she made eye contact with us and took off.... Wtf again! Being from the upper class of the industry I don't expect top not h service at an entry level joint like this but come on! Ridiculous. If this were my place I'd fire the manager on the spot and suspend the waitress. For corporate reading this it was the night of this post this occurred. Half empty floor. Never going to this local place again.

You'd think a place called BAR LOUIE would live up to its name on alcoholic beverages but unfortunately on Tuesday nights they have incompetent female bartenders. I ordered a $9 dos suiza margarita with light ice and it tasted VERY watered down and wasn't strong at all. I'm not one to complain or send something back, but I told the waitress who gave us our food if the bartender can make another one because it just doesn't taste good at all. Our waiter than came back with the same drink that was first served to me saying that the inadequate bartender said it tastes like that because I ordered "light ice." Not once have I ever had this problem in all the times I ordered light ice for my margaritas or mixed drinks. And the last time I came I ordered the same thing and it tasted great. The waitress came back and asked if my drink was okay and I told her that the bartender sent it back because I had ordered light ice and even she told me that it shouldn't taste like that, that if anything it should taste stronger and apologized for having that happen to me. The fact that a waitress has better alcoholic knowledge then a bartender is pretty sad. I enjoyed coming here every week for the $1 burgers and $10 corona buckets but I will not be coming back.

I stayed at the Holiday Inn for three days for work and ate at Bar Louie for pretty much every meal. They have a pretty extensive menu and everything I had was good, with the exception of a mandarin chicken salad. On Tuesday nights they have $1 burgers which seems to draw a big crowd. I went down that night hoping to catch the Bruins game, which I couldn't get in my room, and they wouldn't put it on.

This place is exactly what we needed in Skokie! It has an up scale feel but once we got settled in it was like our own corner tavern. Food was great (awesome pretzels). Service was great as well. I think we had 3 different managers make sure we were happy. Check it out it is a great change from the local chain joints in the neighborhood.

I hope management reads this because this server, Katy, needs to be FIRED. First, are you being paid to sit in a corner and eat, or serve? Our table sat here for over ten minutes staring and waiting for u to check on our table while u sat and ate while we didn't even get to order. Also, a server should not leave her table before the the table leaves and pawn it off to another sever. Clean your own tables and serve your tables before they leave. I've been to this establishment numerous times and never had any issues. This is the first problem I've ever had. It took us over ten minutes to get our first order in, over ten minutes to get our second order taken, and we had to approach u while u were eating to get our check. Just because you're guaranteed 18% tip doesn't mean u can ignore your table. If I return here and see Katy still works here , I will make another complaint and never return. That is how horrible of a server she was. Keep in mind, I've been a server and bartender so I know the proper etiquette of serving. This type of service is completely unacceptable.

This is a great place to go for lunch/dinner or just drinks! Nice atmosphere, friendly wait staff (doesnt hurt they are nice looking either) and great food for the price.

I've gone to this Bar Louis three times, and each time the food is decent, the drinks are good...but the service is just average. Although the waitstaff is very nice, they are just not around that much. Maybe next time I'll sit at the bar?
