This place may not blow your socks off but it certainly deserves more than 3 stars. Breakfast, lunch, dinner, they've got you covered. Good 'ol fashioned Midwestern eats, 'Merica! Keep doing you Happy Place.

Good diner inside of Shorewood. Breakfast is phenomenal lunch and dinner are good. The serving staff is great and the prices are in the area for what you get.

Wonderful ambiance, large foot print. Large menu of comfort food. We came for lunch gumbo soup and beef barley soup were both good and hearty. BLT club was perfect. Hostess and waitress both friendly. Service was quick. We will come again.

My fiancé and I came for dinner.. All in all it was pretty awful. The ambience was nice, the food was mediocre, and the service was absolutely horrible. It took forever for our waitress to take our order, bring our order, check in with us, get the check, etc. It wasn't too busy so I'm not sure what the hold up was. We were going to give the place another chance but then we finally got our bill... Our waitress messed up our drink order. I ordered a lemonade and my fiancé ordered a coke. She had brought out 2 cokes, and then brought out a lemonade when I reminded her. No big deal, but she then charged us for 2 cokes and a lemonade when the mistake was clearly on her end. It's not the $2 that bothers us, it's the principle of the matter. The hostess asked how our meal was and we responded, "Just ok." She said, "Ok, that'll be $XX.XX!" If you don't care, then you just shouldn't ask. We won't be back.

Met here for a dinner meeting last night. The decor is cute. The service was ok. But the ice tea was watered down instant tea. I'm a tea snob so this made me sad. I had the southwest chicken salad & the chicken & shell soup. The salad was good. The south west ranch dressing could have had more of a kick though. And the waitress was highly confused when I asked them to leave the tomato & onion off of my salad. The soup was okay, nothing special. But the breadstick & cracker basket they brought out!! Omg!! The breadsticks had to have been reheated all day long until some poor sucker ~ yes me~ tried eating one!! Let's just say, that when the waitress took the basket away & one fell on the ground it sounded like a plate hitting the floor. The should be ashamed to have even brought that out to the table in the first place! Would I go back, hmmmm~ yes I think I'd like to give their breakfast menu a try.

So, I wasted $30 tonight. Nothing here is made here.. I promise. The gyros are thin and are identical to the boxed ones you buy in the frozen section. This kitchen does not have gyro machinery in this kitchen. The soup was a joke. No chicken in the noodle soup and the meat in the beef barley was literally roast beef from a deli. My 3 year old told me the mozzarella sticks felt like plastic. To call yourself a family restaurant is an insult. So disappointed becaus it's all pre frozen food. DO NOT EAT HERE. The Portillos down the road is better quality! This owner should be ashamed.

First visit had chicken soup. Taste like flour. Second time got eggs ben. Eggs over cooked and cheese sauce was awful. Third visit got open faced roast beef sandwich. Came with asparagus cream soup which again taste like flour. Roast beef horrible generic beef and gravy was orange and funky. Sent back and ordered cheese burger but they charged me for the beef sandwich which was $2 more than burger. Not going back.

Ordered breakfast. Food was average at best. French toast was good. Eggs were eggs, sausage and bacon were cooked well but seemed to be from a food service. My wife requested American cheese in her omelette and received cheddar, toast was cold and wouldn't melt spread butter. Decor was pleasant, service was quick and menu was average offering several breakfast items including eggs, omelets, skillets, and other breakfast choices. May or may not be back.

My wife and I came here to try Happiness Cafe for breakfast, and we were not disappointed. The food was good, the portions were enough to feed us both with some leftovers, and the coffee wasn't bad either. I had the country breakfast: gravy was very good, my wife had the corned beef hash skillet and she said the hash was good as well.

The ambience is nice. It is well decorated and very spacious place. The French Toast, sausage, egg combo I ordered was delicious and the prices on all entrees are reasonable for a breakfast house. I would've really enjoyed this place had it not been for the fruit fly infestation. I got seated on the raised level closer to the bathroom and with every bite of food or sip of coffee, we were waving off the flies. That experience alone made me not-so-happy. One warning for skillet lovers: my husband ordered a skillet and was greatly disappointed. Apparently Happy Place Cafe uses steak fries in their skillets in place of hash browns. I guess some ppl may like it, but he definitely did not! I don't know if that was a fluke or if that's just how they make them here so definitely check before you order if you are a hash brown fan like him :)

People that give this place one or two stars are crazy. This is an excellent Greek diner! We had two Greek steaks that rival any steakhouse! They were excellent! We are going back for breakfast in a couple days and I will update

Food was good but the service was poor. Management needs to address this issue with the staff ASAP.

Love, love, love this place. Pancakes are amazing! Won't have breakfast anywhere else. We always sit in Mandy's section - she keeps the coffee hot and the mood light!

The Greek chicken is amazing! I'm in love with it : -) and I loved how they had Mickey mouse pan cakes : -), and the Cajun fish was good too

This place was surprisingly good. The menu is quite extensive and that normally means bad things. we had the american skillet and a burger. Both were pretty good. The skillet was better than crispy waffle and the burger better than Williamson's. I hope the place lasts. Tons of food for two people with a total bill of $22. Well be back.

Homemade chicken rice soup good. Salad (with chicken) very fresh. Gyros plate was one pita and meat, with a side. Not much to eat. People nice. Will try again but hoping for a more substantial choice next time.

I tried this place once a week for 6 weeks. I live close by and want a good restaurant here. Wishing doesn't make it so. The hostess has not been happy to see me and I always seem to be an interruption to her. Even when I pay she asks her questions in a rote, uninterested manner. I have not had the same server twice in this time period. I'm not sure if they have many, many servers, or if they get unhappy and quit, or if they get fired. This concerns me because I am looking to support a restaurant that treats their employees well. I have tried entrées, breakfast and sandwiches. In the beginning I was hoping to find food that was freshly made and hot. Let's just say I'm still looking. The food seems to be GFS (food supplier) entrees that are heated up, allowed to get cold, then served. In the case of the meatloaf, I suspect this was repeated several times to get to the level of hardness and dryness I found covered with canned gravy. My bill has always been under $10. I consistently tipped $5 or more out of empathy with those who live on tips. That said I admit to feeling like a fool because the service was poor on 5 of 6 visits. Wanting a good restaurant, absolutely. Finding it here, not even close. Reasonably priced, yes. But if you want it hot, buy it yourself at GFS and heat it up at home.

A nice little local place that has recently opened. The food it fine, but their menu is so extensive that there is no way it can be fresh. I hope that the make it. I also hope that they figure out that they don't need to serve every food item you can think of but rather do a few things and do them very well.

An ok diner, close to home. I just felt like it was alright, until I found something I really liked: the veggie breakfast skillet. So, it's become a regular stop for us. Service is good, breakfast good. Bread basket is always fresh. Nice staff.

New casual restaurant in Shorewood. Great decor, super friendly and attentive service and WONDERFUL food. Very fresh. Great presentation. Huge menu of favorites from breakfast served all day to Greek chicken and vegetables and potatoes. We will definitely be back!

We went on a Monday evening, and this place was empty, very empty, but clean. Our server appeared to be the only one, but I think she could handle the three tables. The server was border line rude, and at times seemed annoyed that she had customers. She didn't check on us after bringing our food, like all servers do. The food was nothing special. I got a turkey panini which was just a few (few) slices of lucnh meat, some bacon, and veggies on bread. Nothing special. My wife got a Southwestern skillet that she said was nothing special either. The Annoyed server was the difference between two, and three stars.
