The name should be 'EXPIRED FOODS' instead of VISHNU FOODS. A great example for bad quality foods and worst attitude. The snack foods sold at the counter are very unhealthy and even God does not know when they are prepared. I just had to visit an emergency room after I ate the snacks, also please be careful dealing with the young guy who is a big cheat and charges you incorrect prices when you are not observing.

This place is like a 7-11 that sells nothing but Indian food. The thing to do is make up your own meal. Go in there and get a couple packs of the paratha bread out of the freezer. Then go up to the front of the store where you will see big trays of fried food sitting there in the open. Ask for a giant samosa for each person you want to feed. Around there you will see a piece of paper taped to the side of the display case listing other foods. I recommend you ask for chicken biryani (like rice, but watch for bones), tamarind rice, or lemon rice. To go with this, you should ask for some andhra chicken. The whole thing will cost less than $20 and feed at least 4 people. It's "spicy", but not always "hot" if you know what I mean. I have found that here in the midwest people will use these two words to mean anything that burns your mouth...not so in this case. You can get some food with spices you are not used to, but it will not burn your mouth. They have also rent movies in Indian languages, not sure which languages tho.

Not worth the price, ridiculous! Many items are not priced which is not good. Wont take CC for less than $10. Quality of the food like Idly/Dosa batter is not at all good :(. They prepare some sort of pakoda and other fried items that are not properly made. Not sure how they can sell such things for that kind of price. I surely will avoid going to this place. Not worth the visit to this place.

Very costly ... Should avoid unless emergency ... Each item is priced $1 more than other grocery stores .... Also very less variety ... One good point is lot of variety snacks and meal options are present

I spent about $50 a few days back, and I was shocked when I accidentally looked at the receipt later, and I realized that had I shopped at any other I mean any other Indian grocery shop, I would have spent about $38. The reason that I have never looked at the receipt from an Indian store is because prices are very standard. To make things worse, they sell a brand called "Amma" or something, looks very cute and cozy, and it is very bad stuff really. They never put prices on their items. We live in a free market system, so, they can charge any price they want to, but they have to mark the prices, I would assume. They also sell veggies and some diary, and I will not even touch that stuff, looks pretty cheap. On the plus side, the shop is reasonably stocked for this side of town and that is probably, their only saving grace, else you will have to go to main Schaumburg areas to get Indian grocery. They also have a restaurant, and we used to love eating there, but that has gone down in quality and ambiance.

This store is very convenient if you are missing some basic ingredients for your Indian dish. I get my mendhi from there. It's very inexpensive and always fresh. They also have lots of hair products such as jasmine oil and henna and rose water.

The prices are ridiculous and the items are not marked with price tags. I suggest if you are looking to buy desi stuff go to Patel's etc. They dont accept AMEX and also no CC is accepted for less than $10 purchase. But okay for a quick shop and they have some fast food too.
