Ok I was going to give them 2.5stars, it seems mean if I gave a 2 stars. Anyway, the ice cream was ok. I had a vanilla plain waffle cone and my friend had a double scoop of pomegranate and dark chocolate. My friend liked it. I like mine as well, for the ice cream only not the cone. I was expecting a crispy type of waffle cone, theirs was cold and not crispy at all, but then it is not soft either, I don't know what's the word to describe it, it's like you leave the chips there and eat them after 2 weeks that's how my cone tasted . I had a few bite of it but it was just nasty, so next time I will just order a cup instead. I'm thinking may be I like dairy queens product better :3

Updated review Please read prior reviews for full details. I stopped by on a blustery winter day and bought a small ice cream mint chocolate cake. I was surprised how competitively priced it was compared to carnival ice cream cake at Jewel or Dominicks Only 22 bucks for a smaller cake that can feed "12" people but more like 7-8 unless you cut it super small. The larger one for 16 people is 10 dollars more which is not bad. They have my business in the future.

This is a great location that is near the Library. There's a great seating area in the back and a free water feature that the kids can run through and enjoy after eating some ice cream. Oh yeah, I shared a banana split while enjoying the water feature with the kids while killing some time before we headed to the airport.

Yesterday's visit was great. Our ice cream was delivered to our table by a gentlemen who turned out to be the manager on duty. Our cashier suggested different things to us and I must admit, I've been there a few times and was never suggested something unless it was a taste tester. Sam while cleaning tables asked everyone how they were doing and if he could do anything for them? I'm not sure if this is gonna be a regular thing but he def went out of his way to add great customer service to this place. Great job guys!!

The people that work here are really friendly. So friendly that a young tall guy went to retrieve my daughter's helium filled balloon when it floated to the ceiling. That's super cool. We had a caramel shake and a vanilla malt. Our daughter had run through the fountain earlier and was more interesting in getting back to the water outside but was easily taunted by a cookie in the shake. The shakes are good size and the service was quick, efficient and friendly. We were offered chocolate milk samples and the tables were clean as well as the bathroom. It does get busy at night when it's hot out and I don't blame people for getting their ice cream on. I know I do. I'm not a huge frozen yogurt fan so I prefer to come here to get real ice cream that tastes creamy and rich.

Great ice cream & great location near Town Square & the library. In the summer there are places to sit outside & for the kids to play in a small water park.

I love the location of this place!! and the Ice cream... sooo Yum!! This place is right next to the Schaumburg library with a huge water fountain area right next door. You can take a stroll after you've enjoyed your ice cream or even sit in the outdoor seating area while you eat your ice cream and have a great view. I noticed there are lots of ducks around... its quite peaceful and beautiful. The decor is very cutesy. Reminds me of an old fashion ice cream parlor. You will also see they have Oberweiss Milk, and cakes, ice cream displayed in the side freezers. Every time I've been here, its always been busy. The employees are pretty nice and friendly. Service is usually pretty fast, and you don't have to wait long at all to get your ice cream. Oberweiss Ice cream is rediculously rich and creamy. It taste like real home made ice cream that your grandma makes. I get these two flavors all the time, "dulce de leche" and "chocolate crunch"... They are my all time most favorite flavors. The ice cream is served in cones, or a waffle bowls, or cute glasswares... I usually prefer a plain waffle bowl. Its much easier to share with a someone special. Since I always go with my hubby and share my ice cream, I found that 2 to 3 scoops is alot of ice cream. And because it's soo rich, you won't be able to eat it all by yourself. The price here is also a lil bit more then average. So bring a someone special and share it.

i got really excited when i saw that there was an ice cream place in this plaza, but ended up being kind of disappointing. i can't really speak for everyone, but i know that i usually tend to judge a place by its malt. so i got the malt (choco) and it was not that great. the sprinkles were even really grainy and weird. and the malty was not malty at all. not sure if this was a fluke or if it was normal. but i got the kid's size and it came with an amazing soon, so i'll actually still be back probably if i'm ever in this area.

The ice cream is way too thick, I almost had to spit it out. Also, very rude employees.

Talk about customer service! We were approached right as we walked in the door by the manager, were offered samples (a nice sample at that!), and were tended to the entire time we were there. The ice cream is always great (love the new fall flavors), and the store is clean. They made to sure take away our empty dishes right away. Everyone was friendly and the service was efficient. Very impressive!

It's a small place, clean, and well organized and staffed. However, all their stuff are so expensive! I had a small coffee frozen coffee latte, and I ended up paying $7. For that price, I could have brought up to 3 small frappes at McDonalds or somewhere else. Expensive! And it's not even that good either. Nothing special here.

Why does this place have two Yelp listings? Oh well, I'll just post to both. I don't drink milk so this review is only for the ice cream and milkshakes, particularly the milkshakes. Oberwiess is my favorite place in the area to get milkshakes because their ice cream is so rich and flavorful. Sure they have the classic chocolate, vanilla, strawberry varieties but whey limit yourself to the standard when you can have a milkshake in any of their ice cream flavors? Although all the flavors that I've tried here are creamy cool bliss, it's the little touches that really makes the shake stand out such as the pirouette cookie. There's nothing more satisfying than crunching on a tube shaped cookie to break up the richness of the milkshake. This location is especially nice because just outside they have they share the pond and beautiful walkways that Schaumburg built which makes for a great place to take a stroll milkshake in hand. Just watch out for the mosquitoes. Inside they have all sorts of board games and tables with inlaid chess boards so if the weather sucks, a trip back to childhood memories playing Candyland can be had while slurping on a shake. Although the majority, if not all, of the staff are high school young, they are all well-trained, attentive, and polite. A must for the premium they charge for the products they serve here. Certainly not a place for the monetarily challenged. Sorry, Oliver Twist.

I really like Oberweis. They have SUCH good ice cream, and a large variety of it, too. They had a summer special of chocolate marshmallow, and that was really tasty. I got my usual peanut butter chocolate shake, and the kids both got a kid's scoop. The only think I don't like are the prices and the line. It took us about 10 minutes standing in line to order and we were the fifth in line. Then it took another 5-10 minutes to get our food. So it was 20 minutes for takeout. Plus, it was almost $16 for the four of us to get ice cream. My shake was $6 alone. We will be back, but it's definitely a "treat" and not something we would go to often!

BE CAREFUL ! Went in to buy a half gallon of milk for $4 and gave the girl a $20 bill. She handed me back $6 ,I immediately told her she shorted me $10. After calling the manager he counted the register and said no they did not short me $10. I told him I did not leave the counter and the change was still where she put it. I had to call the Police and wait 30 minutes untill one of the other girls told the manager she took $10 out of the register to buy bananas. COUNT YOUR CHANGE !

Apple Cobbler, oh how I love you! Served warm w/cold vanilla ice cream. They offer one scoop but I always upgrade to 2 scoops. I like the fact it's nestled near the Schaumburg Library, Sushi Ya and Bonefish. I can grab a treat after loitering or a dessert after eating. I never go for the simple, single scoop. I thoroughly enjoy the Hot Fudge Brownie Sundae without the pecans and whipped cream. I think the Apple Cobbler is seasonal. It came out recently and I hope it doesn't go away any time soon.
