Went in on a Sunday night on the recommendation of a friend. Not too bad of a wait. About 20 minutes for a 6 top. Ordered drinks, sodas all around, and all but 1 got our soda right away. Took about 10 minutes and a couple reminders to get it to the table. Throughout the meal server had to be reminded of refills. Ordered 2 different appetizers and our meals at the same time including a kids meal. We got 1 app within 5 minutes and then the kids meal not long after, and then our second app, then soups. Meals came. Flatbed pizza was cold and sent back. 2 mahi mahi taco meals, fish was cold and dry. Very small portions for $15 meal. $11 for a very small serving of calamari, but it was good. Pretzels were good also. My issue is this. Why would you serve a kids meal before apps? Why is the food so fast. It makes me nervous that fish is prepared so quickly. I definitely won't return anytime soon, if at all.

If I could just review the food, I'd say it was delicious. Great barbque chicken flatbread. Delicious pulled pork on a cornbread waffle with fried onions on the top. However, our waiter was not good. Had attitude, forgot to order one of our entrees, the Asian salad, and said when we didn't receive it, "we talked about it". So where was it? Might give it another try. I hope they improve, because it has great potential.

Is there a salt shortage? Nothing we received was seasoned... oh, except for the grilled chicken for our son where we specified salt only... came with pepper too. I guess the fries has plenty of salt. Anyway, the burgers were decent but the risotto seemed like it was sitting under a heat lamp for a while. The beer (Drunken Rabbit) was excellent, they should probably stick with that.

Arrived early for our 6:30 reservation on Saturday and was surprised by how busy the restaurant was (6:00 on a Saturday?!). Limited parking available but they do offer valet. We found a couple of spots at the bar and the bartender was very helpful not only with our drinks but offering food suggestions as well. The rest of our party arrived shortly before 6:30 and before we could order more drinks our table was ready. Service was attentive and the food arrived at a good pace. We ordered the meatloaf based on recommendations from the bartender. She was right. It is very good. And the portion was just about right. The ciabatta bread base didn't really add anything but it was different. The lemon chicken was recommended by the hostess and bartender. My gf said it was very good. The hostess actually stopped by later in the meal to see how my gf liked the chicken. Nice touch. I thought the steak and black bean chili was outstanding. Lastly, someone else got the prime rib sandwich and gave it a thumbs up. Probably the most notable part of our meal came towards the end. The server noticed a couple of cards on the table (we were celebrating a belated birthday) and asked if we were celebrating anything. We reluctantly (we were worried someone would have to wear 'the birthday sombrero') mentioned the belated birthday. The server said that he would bring a complimentary dessert for us to share. The server could have easily ignored the cards and dessert but he went above and beyond. This guy knows his business. The dessert was a chocolate chip cookie and ice cream in a little casserole dish. The serving platter had 'Happy Birthday' drizzled in caramel sauce. Of course it was great - how can you go wrong with a chocolate chip cookie and ice cream!! The Woodfield area is a very tough and competitive location for restaurants but given our experience Granite City should be around a long time. And based on how busy they were, we're not the only ones that agree.

The service is not the greatest and that's why I knocked it down two stars. Good drink selection and menu options. The cheese burger is nice and juicy. The restaurant itself it pretty and well kept, and surprisingly massive inside. There is lots of seating! I really would like to try their brunch.

First time here last night and loved it!! I got a mojito and my boyfriend had a beer flight. Both were great. I had the crispy shrimp tacos. SO GOOD my mouth is watering talking about it. Our server Carl was awesome! Very cute atmosphere and nice outside patio. For sure will be back!

I have been here a dozen times or more. I have brought work clients, friends, dates and roommates. They always have amazing service, the food is 95% spot on or they fix it. The drinks are good though be patient they only have 1 bar. They have been improving. This place is just great overall!!!

Did not live up to my expectations after reading other reviews. More of a restaurant type atmosphere than a bar/brewery. Many of the non IPA beer options were disappointing. Got Shrimp tacos due to other reviews and they were really really spicy. So spicy I hated them though I would imagine those that like spicy food would love them. Overpriced as well. Overall a disappointment. Probably won't be back.

First timer at 2:00 lunch. Went with co-worker and we loved it. We go for the food not drink but we try to try new places when we can. I had pulled pork on a waffle and friend had well-done burger on pretzel roll. Mine was different and tasted great. She loves well-done and usually dry, not here, it was juicy. Mini desserts are perfect. Service great, room comfortable, and loved the decor.

Even though my husband and I are in Schaumburg frequently we just noticed this place is open and decided to try it. The building is large and even though it looked crowded we didn't have to wait for a table. The employees were accommodating to our seating preferences. I ordered a cup of the baked French Onion soup and the Buffalo Chicken Wrap and my husband ordered the fish and chips. The soup was delicious and I liked the wrap although next time I will ask for no celery. Our waitress could have stopped by our table more often but other staff stepped in when they saw we needed drink refills. I'm a little disappointed that their kitchen closes around 10 and only serves apps after that. Otherwise this is a solid addition to the restaurants around the mall.

Food was meh. Service was worse than "meher". Sat at the rail because usually the service is quicker and the bartender doesn't let you linger long with an empty glass. Wrong on both counts tonight. Stopped in after 3 hours of work travel to grab a bite and a beer. Tried their double IPA, which they call hoppy. Doesn't hold a candle to Bells Two- Hearted in terms of hops. Smooth, drinkable but not the punch of an IPA. Also tried their margherita flatbread. Pretty much just balsamic and tomatoes. Fit the bill for food, left me full. Needs just a touch more salt and pepper and a slightly less sweet balsamic. Service? Time to demote your bartender back to day service staff. No personality, not welcoming and spent more time complaining about why management had 2 bartenders on until 8 or standing at the back of the bar eating her dinner. Note to management. Break your staff so they can eat in back and relax and not eat while serving guests.

Great atmosphere, great service, and friendly staff. I had the mahi tacos and they were delicious! Parking lot was packed but still plenty of room inside a to sit. Looking forward to going back.

Just came across this place tonight, so we decided to give it a try. The ambiance was nice, good layout. The menu has options for everyone, the craft beers are also worth a try. The mixed drinks are also very tasty...Definitely will be returning to GC again.

I've been to this location twice now - two different experiences. The first experience was great. Our server was very attentive, food was fast and hot, and the drinks were spot on. My most recent visit was exactly the opposite. We made reservations that the hostess was 25 min late to seat us for - what's the point in reservations if you have to wait the same amount of time as walk-ins? After a 25 min wait, they attempted to seat us, took us back and there was no available table. We were returned to the waiting area for another 5 min or so while they figured out a table. Ok, now, FINALLY they took us to a table, which was dirty, so we had to wait for them to clear it off. Of course, I had a stink face and the hostess noticed and asked me what was wrong. I told her the whole situation, and she kindly apologized and offered my group a free appetizer (very nice, she was great). Now we are finally sitting, and to make a long story short: our waiter was slow and not attentive, my water was practically empty the entire meal (I had to ask for more on several occasions), the drinks were sloppy and sugary, the free appetizer was good (buffalo wings) but the rest of the food left a lot to be desired. My steak salad was wilted and wet, etc. I absolutely HATE paying 50-60 bucks for terrible food and awful service. I don't think I'll be returning. Too many other places in this area for this restaurant to drop the ball this hard.

  • Celine B.

Don't bother with a reservation for lunch because they will make you wait like everyone else. Arrived at the agreed time and were told we needed to wait 10-15min for a table to free up. When we told them that we had reserved to not have to wait they said that they didn't have anything free and there was nothing they could do. We decided to leave and they just said bye and couldn't have cared less. Apparently they can afford to treat customers this way. Edit: I just clarified with my husband who made the reservation. He did not do it through opentable as I had assumed but by calling the restaurant.

Beautiful Bar setup, excellent layout, great outdoor seating (but small), and excellent addition to Schaumburg resturant scene. First time here, but will make this added to our regular lunch destination. If they add more TVs to bar area, this would be a great area to hang out and watch sports! As for food, we ordered 3 appetizers with our beers were ok- breadsticks were too salty, artichoke dip was nothing to write home about, but tuna appetizers was good. For our main course at lunch, I had Asian Salad with Chicken ( it was great), my friends had shrimp tacos ( good) and salmon ( great). Will be back for main entrees. Looking for the restaurants continued success!

This place has amazing food, an amazing atmosphere and amazing service. Everytime I've made a reservation I've been seated as soon as I got there and always feel welcome by the staff. Even if you have to wait they give free appetizers while you wait for your table. The servers are very efficient and wonderful at making sure they keep up with drink refills as well. Everytime I have gone to this restaurant I have tried something different from the menu and have NEVER been disappointed. The negative reviews on here are people honestly being way to uptight.

An absolutely horrible dinning experience. Uninformed and unatentive bartenders. Drinks sat empty for several minutes while one bartender flirted with some girls and the other was more occupied with her closing side work than taking care of guests. As a server and bartender I cannot believe the disrespect and upselling that takes place here. We where upsold a drink from $5 to $24 without our knowledge. Our bartender did not know beer basics and ruined the entire experience for myself and three friends. I hoped to come here showing my close friends an amazing time, even hoped to bring coworkers here. Now im afraid to go back again because of such terrible service. The food is fantastic and so is the beer, the service brings down the restaraunt as a whole.

    (1)
  • Laur G.

Hostess unorganized and service extremely slow. It took at least 10 minutes for our waitress to first come over and after our drinks came it took about another 15 minutes to order our appetizer. The kitchen was breaking plates and glasses constantly. It was not a nice dining experience. I won't be back.

Since I work right next door, I've been watching them build this place for the last several months. I was pleased to see them open this week, and eager to visit. I spent a portion of the night at the bar and got outstanding service from Michelle. The Batch 1000 (double IPA) was delicious, and the food was even better. I spent the rest of the night (with friends) in the dining room, and got outstanding service from Stephanie. There's a theme here: outstanding service. Everyone employed at this place was super nice and helpful. The food was great, and the in-house beer (usually the weakness of a micro-brewpub type place that typically focuses more on the food than the beer and does neither well) was actually good. If you don't like their in-house beer selections, they had another 8 guest taps, as well as a full menu of wine and cocktails. I can't find anything wrong. 5 stars. Will be a regular.

What a great atmosphere! Met up with some friends for some grub and obviously brews. Ordered: SWEET & SPICY CALAMARI (Not too bad) SPINACH ARTICHOKE DIP (Delicious) BUFFALO CHICKEN (Delicious) Beers were tasty. Our server was phenomenal! She was prompt and informative!

Great modern look and feel. Staff was okay but weren't in the mood to talk much. Burgers were good and the beer selection was amazing.

Had the west coast burger with broccolini which is a seasonal special. Worth every penny of the USD 16.25 ai paid for it, including taxes.

The bar service is inadequate and the GM (I think that was his position) seems like a complete jerk off. He walks around like he's almighty, and I kept seeing him talk down to the other workers. The food is not half bad, but the whole vibe at the restaurant is just lousy.

I work in the woodfield area so I am a frequent lunch goer in the area. I will say Granite City once they work out the kinks will be a great addition to the area. The decor is amazing it is a little noisy, seems like the room holds the noise. The lunch special for $8.95 is a bargain especially for the servings you get. My server was pleasant and attentive. Now for the kinks. The BBQ pulled pork sandwich is really pulled pork on a waffle. Flooded with onion rings on top. Now mind you this is okay if you are aware how the dish is made. So I was shocked when it came. I am loading a picture as well. My co-workers chicken wrap was a little dry and the chicken could of used more seasoning. We did leave a comment with the manager and they thanked us. We will be back it's still new but you see the potential.

After an extremely long day, stopping in Schaumburg was the last thing my boyfriend and I wanted to do. The Grand Opening sign caught my attention as we drove by and we decided to stop in for dinner. The place was booming. The decor was nice. My only complaint was that they sat us at a high top and the party next to us had a few high top tables pushed together for a party. Which was AWKWARD because the women who were standing were practically in our laps. Couldn't really have a romantic late dinner. But anyway, the food was amazing. My Caesar salad was a bit dry, but the Shrimp tacos were extremely flavorful. Spicy! But soooo good. He had some pasta which was good as well. Overall service was ok. What I didn't care for, was a waiter who was picking up a check complaining about his tip. Not our waitress, but still.

Went to Granite City today. Had the lunch special $8.95 buffalo chicken wrap with the asian salad. Everything was very good good portions. Nice server's recommend trying it out! Also they have a Sunday brunch!

Updated review - we went after work. The Asian shrimp with sweet chili sauce is amazing. The drinks were amazing. And come to find out, the cold cheese on the burger was only for the burger that I ordered. Weird, but good to know. Will be back.

Overall, not the greatest experience. Waitress, Osta (spelling?), wasn't very nice and was no where to be found when we needed refills or our check... For the price you pay, I think waitstaff should be nicer and more prompt. A late weekday lunch turned into a 2 hour ordeal- and the place wasn't busy.

This was our third time at Granite City and it is still good for food and service. Tonight we had Jeff as a server and he was great. Most servers look like they are glad you stopped by and we always feel welcome here . My husband tried the shrimp tacos - per a good Yelp review - and they were great. but Friday is our day to come because of the clam chowder. It is the BEST in the burbs. There are really clams in there!!! My burger was great and I can get my extra grilled onions too. We know this is a brew pub too and we aren't beer drinkers, but we recommend it for anyone that wants great food and courteous service.

Went here for lunch. Brand new place that I wanted to try out. Be sure to flip through the menu to find the lunch specials, as they were not brought to our attention by our server. This place has a lot of expensive items on the menu, but a reasonably priced lunch can be found. Ordered the pulled pork sandwich and cole slaw. The pulled pork arrived a top a bacon-japaleno waffle and topped with onion strings. Nice presentation and twist on the traditional pulled pork. The waffle-style bbq experience was more interesting than tasty. Don't get me wrong, it tasted good and I ate the whole thing. The waffle spun through me for a loop (neither the menu or the server mentioned anything about the waffle). Be sure to ask for extra BBQ sauce on the side, as they don't put enough on the sandwich. The real surprise was the homemade cole slaw. Great stuff!

Their flatbread pizzas are amazing! Our waitress was such a cool and down to earth chick we kept finding ourselves having random conversations with her. The night I went they has the most delicious watermelon martini for only 5 bucks! Our waitress even recommended me to get a dirty martini with blue cheese stuff green olives and I was kind iffy given that I never liked blu cheese but once I had it i was hooked! I will definitely be returning for one of those bad boys and the food of course

15 minutes for a sample of beer. 20 minutes for a Bloody Mary, another 15 for garnishment for the Bloody Mary. Slowest bar ever, especially on Memorial Day. Even our waiter is pissed off about how slow the bar is.

  • Guillaume L.

Good atmosphere with a decent selection of beers to choose from (6 regular on tap and another 5 seasonal). Their Hefeweizen was my beer of choice IMO, and the Broad Axe Stout was decent as well. Went during happy hour and tried the flatbread pepperoni pizza and the wings which was good. Pretty busy and the service was good for me.

  • Lauren M.

I will start off with saying the service was exceptional. We were seated right away, the atmosphere was wonderful, and our server was a lovely young man. Our food on the other hand was horrible. My husband had a plain cheeseburger he ordered it medium and it was beyond well done. I had a bison burger rare and mine was also beyond well done. I tasted nothing but a burnt dry piece of meat, but the bottom of the patty wasnt badly burned. Until I lifted the cheese up, the side hidden under the cheese was black. Both of our plates looked like they had been under a warming light for several hours. Even the fries were inedible. It was disapointing to say the least. We left without eating anything. Date night was officially ruined.

We went the 2nd day it was open... Pretty disappointing food and service. I got the bruschetta salad and my bf got Mac n cheese. Salad was gross, too much onions and just wet salad slime. That one should require a pic in menu. Mac n cheese was good. Beers were average. The highlight was the dessert trio... But only sorbet and choc chip cookie dish, the brownie dish was gross, and somehow the metallic taste of the tins they served them in lingered. The decor was cool inside and seemed pretty big. However, we were seated in very first section by the entrances, in late February when it was -10 wind chills out and the awesome fireplace was disappointingly not lit and I was freezing. Also people kept waking out the doors to smoke and the doors would stick open, making it miserable in that room. I'm sure it's meant for private parties and is slightly sectioned off but they've got to figure out how to keep it warm in winter. My hope that in summer it's like an outdoor patio bar like westwood has... Because that would be awesome. They did have tvs in that section so you can plan to watch a game in there. We plan to try again but for now I'm feeling just meh. I'm being a bit harsh so the new restaurant has a chance to improve since it was brand new.

This place is great for groups large or small. A wide selection of brews and options for lunch. The staff is friendly and pretty knowledgable. There is a reasonably varied gluten free menu, which is nice - I had the steak salad, which was delicious. I would love to see a wider selection of salads on the gf menu, but since this place just recently opened, I look forward to seeing how it gets even better! I've heard the brunch is delightful, though I have not experienced it myself. Lunch is efficient without being rushed - great for people on a lunch hour.

A growler from Granite City- so cute! Great customer service, great beer. We had the Ahi Tuna appetizer and was aesthetically pleasing but lacked punch! Looking for taste and did not find it! Will go back to give it a second chance though!

We've been here three times. The first was the opening (five stars), the second was a week later (four stars) and the third was today (two star service). While the food and drinks have all been good prior to today, the same care and attention was not put into the food. And the service was (for a lack of a better word) polite but not fantastic, especially for a very slow Saturday afternoon. Our soup arrived with a thick film from sitting so long. It was barely lukewarm. My mac and cheese was clearly Alfredo sauce. I'm disappointed that service seems to be going downhill now that the ribbon is cut. I feel like this place has great potential though despite this bummer of a trip.

Been to Granite city several times in the past and decided from their advertising to try their Mother's Day brunch. Preface this to say we have always been pleased with their outstanding service and servers as well as their food taste quality and service.in the past. Have always frequented large banquet hall brunches on Mother's Day and decided to try something more small scale, thus granted city. While the menu wasn't as extensive Granite city provided more than adequate items and variety. The difference was the student taste like banquet buffet style food, Granite city food tasted like each portion was made specifically for you. It was flavorful tasty and the prime rib melted in your mouth. The choices were marvelous, the bacon was the best ever and the drinks were out of this world! And as always the staff is extremely friendly, we even had a waitress we have had in the past stop by the table and ask to meet our entire family. I should've written in when we just dying there but when the banquet was so good it deserved a five star rating overall, food and exceptional staff! I'm a wine drinker but my son said the bear is great!

I wish I could give this place more stars. It seemed really promising. Do NOT get the bruschetta salad. Service is okay and the interior is pretty cool looking. I tried to order a chicken wrap with lettuce and tomato and I was told they couldn't adjust anything on the menu. I went with a buffalo chicken wrap and it was awful! Not to mention it was pretty difficult to get the bar tenders attention at all. They forgot to give us silverware, any sauces that we asked for (several times we asked) and our cups stayed empty for a solid 15-20mts. Ive been there several times hoping the experience would change, but the more I go back the worse it gets. They're new so Im hoping they'll get it together.

Went here for lunch on a Monday - they have only been open for two weeks now. The service was spot on! We were greeted within 2 minutes and our drinks arrived 2 minutes later. We placed our order (we each ordered a Big Show Burger with a side of loaded fries). What a show stopper! Lives up to its name that's for sure. I had to cut the burger in half. The burger was juicy and well seasoned. The pork was tender and had a nice smoky flavor. The onion strings were nice and crispy. (Good luck trying to pick this thing up to eat it. It's kinds messy... that was not an issue with me though! Ate half and took the other half home. I can't wait until it's warm enough to eat out on their patio. I'll definitely be back!

Went here on a Saturday night. It was crowded unlike a lot of other places which are dead if you go late. That's a big positive for Schaumburg! Our server was extremely friendly and helped us though the various substitutions and questions we had on the menu (ex: is the cheese pasteurized? For anyone wondering... it's because pregnant women shouldn't be eating that stuff!). The beers that the boys ordered was a hit. Sorry, but I didn't pay attention to what they got! We ordered the sweet potato tater tots which came out piping hot and was absolutely delicious with the dip (we even ordered a second helping!). Perfectly fried and not the slightest bit oily. We ordered a flatbread with scallions, basil and tomatoes. This is where they lost a star from me. The dish was very bland and tasted like something off a kids menu. Overall it was lacking salt and flavor. Next came the main course. Our friends ordered the chicken burger which was supposedly delicious. My husband and I shared a veggie burger (which wasn't on the menu, but they had made some for lunch which out server readily offered to make for us). The most delicious veggie burger around the Schaumburg area for sure! We added grilled onions, avocados, tomato, pepperjack cheese and lettuce. We opted for a side of fries which was also delicious. The veggie patty definitely tasted like it was freshly made (and not one of those frozen ones!). It seemed like a mix of rice, veggies and a bit of black beans. Delicious! We even packed one to go home. I will surly go back for their burgers. Tip: call ahead to make sure they have the veggie patty and can make you a veggie burger, since it isn't on the dinner menu.

Excellent!! They had a wide variety for food selection, and the choices we made were great! The reuben sliders special was delicious. I was disappointed when a huge gust of wind caused me to drop the leftover sliders in the ground while walking to the car. Now they really will be in a doggie bag! My boyfriend got the dark beer flight and was pretty happy. Our server, Brandy, was one of the most personable waitresses I have ever had! We will definitely be coming back and requesting her too!

Was here today on Day 3 of opening. The staff was overly friendly and accommodating . The flat bread was on Crackers not bread and piled on top so not cooked. Apparently they put it thru a warmer and not in an oven to bake since it is on a cracker. The burger was greasy , the calamari was light and good but very small portion. Beer flights were good. The wings were good. Would not go back. So much more in this area with the food so much better !

Noisy. Poor service. Watered down drinks. Mediocre food. We sat for 10 minutes without one server coming to our table. Not even a glass of water. Then we ordered drinks. Got those 10 minutes later. The sangria tasted like pure fruit juice and the mojito wasn't much better. Then they changed servers on us. Subsequent drinks took 7-10 minutes, which according to the server, was the bar being behind including restocking a tap for a margarita. hmmm. Fish taco were dry. Chicken was greasy. Crackers with the appetizer tasted stale. Not going back.

I work across the street so frequent the place a lot for lunch. It has a great lunch menu with reasonable prices. My co-workers also recommend it for lunch since it is more reasonable than the dinner menu. The service has always been excellent and relatively fast at lunch. I also had an issue with a lost item and although I found it back at work, management was absolutely outstanding. Two of the restaurant managers searched everywhere and called the staff that served us who had already left. Very professional staff!

Never have been here before. Emily was our server and super knowledgeable of the menu. suggested a beer that was not on the menu. A mix of two of their crafts mixed together. Was so good. We had the pretzel appetizer. It came with 5 pretzels which I thought was a good bang for the buck. I ordered the bacon cheeseburger with fries. It was delicious. My fiance ordered the prime rib sandwich. All so filling. We also ordered the trio dessert of creme brulee brownie and cookie. Everything was great. service excellent. Bar environment awesome. Definitely will be back.

The food was good but wished the portions were bigger for the price. The beers were really good as well. My favorite was the stout. The classic beer flight is a must and it's pretty cheap. Jafet is the best server. Make sure u request him when eating here. Very informative and friendly. Wanting to try the Sunday brunch for 20$ because of the prime rib station. I would come back here anytime esp Tuesday and Thursday for their 3$ beers on tap.

I really liked this place. Great beer, amazing shrimp tacos and the atmosphere is fun. The only problem was the parking lot. So jammed packed and I had to fight with the valet for a spot. I will be back.

Beer is pretty good. AppetiZers are decent. Guest taps are solid. Entrees are very mediocre. Food is way too pricey for the quality. I understand it is a franchise so this is to be expected but come on. Make a decent burger

You pay premium price for junk food. Beers are far from great. If you are from NE, IA or suburbia you may like it, but if you are from Chicago, NYC or San Fran avoid it. It's waste of time. Clean restrooms.

Food was ok but portions are very small comparing it to dollar value of places around. We had mahi mahi tacos which passed in my book but it's nothing I would remark about. It was about $20 for 3 tacos and a small cup of beans and corn on the side. I've had the same order for $10-$14 around the suburbs and the taste profile was the same IMGO. Service was quick and attentive. I would return here for the beers probably.

Wish we were not moving out of schaumburg, as Granite City would've made the restaurant rotation. Service was great! Kali was very friendly and attentive. Started with the Sweet & Spicy Calamari which was delicious. Just the right mix of sweet, tangy and spicy. Sauce was mostly on the side, so the breading didn't lose its crispness. My husband had the Blue Peppercorn Burger which was piled high with bacon and onion straws...making me second guess my Bison Burger. I was quickly put too ease as my bison burger was juicy, flavorful, just everything I was hoping for in a burger. The tarragon mayo with the pretzel bun combo was spot on. I highly recommend! The fries were good, but nothing to write home about. As avid beer connoisseurs we both had to try a beer or two. I went with the Lazy Lake which reminded me of Canoe Paddler. Hubby went with the Northerner, which he said tasted just like Miller Lite. All in all the experience was a great success. Great outside area that I would like to try out sometime. Happy eating!

The Food was ok, nothing to crazy.....The Service was Horrible.... Definitely a waste of money and waste of experience. It was a Birthday Event, not celebrated but mentioned. Drink orders that took about 45 minutes to get a cocktail.

Came here with a couple of friends and got some beers and a couple of dishes. The beer is okay. I had a doubleIPA. We got the pretzel and cheese which was the best part of our meal! They did give us each a round of samples of beer to try at our table which was really nice! For dinner we got the cajun pasta which was delicious. However, our Mediterranean chicken was more of a bruschetta chicken and it was just a bit bland. It just wasn't what we were expecting. We wanted the meatloaf but they ran out and so we had to get this chicken dish. The place was okay. I would come back for drinks and appetizers for sure.

Been here three times: bar, dinner, and brunch. All three times the service was decent as well as the food. The drawback is when you receive the bill. The brunch food is nothing special: mediocre omelettes and usual French toast, sausage, etc. Nowhere near worth the $20/person. A lot of the food was constantly empty and wouldn't be refilled until you asked someone. Glad I tried this place but I won't be returning.

Love trying new places, unfortunately Granite City fell short. Loved the decor and atmosphere, beyond that...not so much. We went in for lunch at 2:30, not busy at all. Food took a surprisingly long time; nothing crazy ordered just medium rare burger, a chicken wrap, and a Reuben. The burger was "really good" according to my son, the wrap didn't have much chicken in it more of a salad wrap really, and the Reuben had very little meat and cole slaw not sauerkraut. When asked how the meal was, I told our server about my disappointment (I had only eaten 1 bite so clearly I didn't like it) and all the server said was, "sorry that's just our way." We waited a long time for our server to bring the check, then again a long time for him to come get the payment. As the place was not busy at all it was way too long. $43.00 for lunch for 3 (no drinks) and mediocre food at best it is safe to say the atmosphere is not enough to bring me back in...

Not impressed. Another chain restaurant...nothing special here. Very noisy, horrible service and average food. Had lunch the other day with one additional person. Their food was brought out and I had to wait 10 minutes before my lunch arrived. The waiter literally did a "drive by" with the food. Dropped my burger and didn't even acknowledge that I had to wait for it and didn't ask if i needed any condiments. Had to flag down a busboy to ask for ketchup and mustard - he was the only upside to my entire experience. Wish I could have left him the tip instead of the waiter that didn't come to our table once to ask how everything was or if we needed anything else. Restaurants in the Schaumburg area are plentiful. They better pick it up if they want to stay in business. I won't be recommending them and won't be going back myself. Shame really since I work across the street and would have been convenient for group lunches.

Went there on a Thursday night. The parking lot was packed went in and managed to get seated for four without reservations or wait. Wow! Service was excellent. Food came out extremely quickly. We didn't have time to finish our appetizer before our dinners arrived which I'm cool with. The food was meh. I had the pretzels for appetizer which were just ok. Side salad was amazing. I ordered the Mahi tacos which were a poor choice. They were very bland and left you with a spicy flavor in your mouth. It came with some corn and bean salsa that wasn't too great either. Had the brownie and ice cream for desert and that was decent. Forgot to mention their beer was pretty tasty. Overall not somewhere I would pick to go again but wouldn't hesitate to try them again.

    1. After we were seated it took about 10 minutes for our server to approach us. 2. Took her a few minutes to get our water despite us sitting right next to the bar. 3. Took about 10 minutes to get the drinks we ordered. My bloody mary had a long hair on it and tasted very bland. 4. The manager brought me over a lemonade after about 5 minutes and said he would be happy to get me a cocktail, which I didn't want. (Ended up charging us for the lemonade anyways). 5. Our food was delivered by another server who read off the ticket that we needed mayo instead of bringing it with our food. Took awhile to get the mayo. 6. The burger was great. The fries were stale and tasted like they were warmed under a heat lamp instead of coming straight from the fryer 7. Server was also nowhere to be found to get our check. 8. When we arrived the chair my fiance was about to sit in had a huge sticky mess on it that he had to ask to hostess to clean.

Just had an impromptu lunch with the family - they have a brunch that's priced fairly and extensive beer and wine menu. Bloody Mary mix is homemade - good but very peppery at the end. Service was fantastic and everyone was thanking us for our visit! Will def come back with friends!

Good food, good beers, attentive wait staff, another good place in the Schaumburg area. The difference between a good place and a great one is customer service and Neil - manager with tie, earpiece and everything - definitely lacks a lot of it. Long story short, I should have had $30 on my rewards card from a $1300 dinner party but the waiter forgot to swipe it and I only had $5... Instead of being understanding, Neil was very condescending and basically told me to shove it.

We have been driving past this newly opened place for a few days and thought of checking it out some weekend. We finally went here for a nice dinner on a Sunday evening and were pleasantly surprised... great food & drinks... great atmosphere..this could be our new goto place for weekends :) Hoping to go back and try out their brunch soon!

I can only review the drinks and ambiance, although the food passing by look delicious. We stopped in for a few drinks and sat at the bar. Every single hand-crafted cocktail was seriously so delicious. Cucumber martini, the raspberry something (was also low-cal) - all of it was just so yummy. Love the look and feel of this place as well. Need to come back to try the food and brew.

Greeted at the door by staff screening for reservations, it felt as if they were filtering guests rather than welcoming. We were seated immediately which was a suprise since it was so busy. The music was far too loud for the number of diners; I could not hear my friends across the table from me. The service was friendly but it was clear they had not got it down yet: we had food delivered to the wrong people, cooked wrong, wrong drinks served at the table (ordered the IPA and got the Brown Ale), cold flat bread (ordered as an entree and served 5 minutes prior to other entrees, the waitress noted they do that because it "gets cold very quickly"; why not wait to cook it instead?), childrens food served on scalding hot plates (the server actually burned his own hand on the plate but did not offer to switch it out), and no offers to make anything right. The managers never arrived to see how things went, though I did see them called to other tables so it was clear we were not the only ones disappointed. In the end, I may go back but I'd give it a year for them to iron out the wrinkles. This was very underwhelming.

Brunch was below average. Poor selection of brunch items, everything was unlabeled, and none of the helpful waitstaff actually knew much about the menu. Hear they're good for dinner and the beer is good but the brunch was disappointing.

this place just opened so maybe i shouldnt have expected much but i did & i was quite disappointed. actually it wasnt just me but my 2 other friends who had dinner with me. we all were expecting the food to taste super delicious & the service to be great but the only thing that was outstanding was the decor. everythin else was meh. we all thought it was weird that our waiter took forever to get back to us & that he would stay for like 30 seconds & then he'd be off like a prom dress! its like he couldnt be still enough for us to ask questions & ask for recommendations! soooo weird! then our food wasnt anythin spectacular! mango habanero boneless chicken wings that i couldnt taste the mango in. my shrimp tacos were ok but i prefer corn tortillas not flour. they ordered the blt with avocado & they werent impressed with their food either. although the place looks really cool the service nor food was that great! wold spend my money elsewhere since theres so many other awesome places to eat in schaumburg area!!

A bit pricey for burgers and beer. Burgers were ordered medium rare, but served well. We told the server and he said he would talk to the manager. The manager never showed up and it was never brought up again. For the quality of the food I would go elsewhere.

Loved the food and atmosphere coupled with the new modern design. The pretzel and beer cheese appetizer is my absolute favorite. Being a past Granite City customer, I was nothing short of impressed with the new store. While it is obvious that it is new and kinks need to be worked out, it has nothing but potential. I recommend Two Pull as my beer of choice. Will definitely be going back.

Went here Saturday night with a few friends. THE GOOD: -The atmosphere here is pretty cool. You can tell the place is brand new. The place felt warm and inviting and the atmosphere had a bit of a buzz to it as the place was filled with patrons. Upscale, modern, bar/brewery feel. -The staff was very friendly even though it was very noticeable that they were completely overwhelmed. They have complimentary valet parking which is a nice touch and the valet guys I dealt with were also very nice. -Some of the staff came by the lobby area with beer tasting samples as we were waiting. This was a very nice touch. It keeps your customers quiet as they feel you are at least acknowledging their presence. And who doesn't enjoy trying free tasters before you sit down to order a beer? -The food is pretty good. Our party ordered some of the burgers, the BLT, and the fish tacos. Good but not great but admittedly our orders were pretty bland vanilla. The portion sizes are not overwhelming but are enough to feed a solid appetite with some to spare for a doggy bag. -The prices are very reasonable. THE BAD: -My party was sat over a half hour later than our reservation time. This place is pretty new but its not brand new anymore. They really need to clean this up. I bumped into a friend in the lobby who had made the mistake of not making a reservation and he told me he had been waiting for over an hour and a half. Yikes. -Once we were called to be brought to our table, the hostess brought us to a table that clearly was not open yet. So, she apologetically brought us back to the lobby for a resolution. She ended up trying to sit us at a table in the bar area. We entertained the idea for a minute trying to empathetically understand how busy the place was. As we sat down, there were people literally bumping into our backs and we immediately requested to be moved. Thankfully, they were able to sit us at a booth but I am unsure as to why they tried to force us to dine in the bar in the first place. Who wants to have a sit down dinner with people looming right around/above you? Off to a bad start. -The waiter we had was nice but he was a bit too comfortable for our liking. He tried a little too hard to be smooth. It was fine but we're here to hang out with one another - not our server. I never really expect my server to be more involved in my night outside of performing their job. I'm not sure I can even explain it well but the interaction was just odd and we could have done without it. -For appetizers we ordered the calamari which was described as being tossed with a sweet and spicy sauce. We had requested the sauce be put on the side since some of our party does not enjoy spicy food. When this was delivered, the sauce was drizzled over the calamari. So, not only was the sauce not put on the side but the preparation of the dish did not coincide with the description. Basically, got the entire thing wrong. Again, not a huge deal but clearly the attention to detail is lacking at this place. You can only leverage the 'we're a new place' excuse for so long and so many times during an initial experience. OVERALL: -I would not go out of my way to dine here again. Do not even think about stepping into this place unless you have a reservation, and even then be ready to wait 45ish minutes to sit. Put simply, there was not enough positive to outweigh the negative in my opinion. The main sore spot - Granite either needs to increase the number of staff or drastically increase the training of the staff. The place is like a zoo. Completely disorganized. Having this much business is obviously good but this is likely due to the fact that Granite is new to the area. Once this initial nostalgia fades, it is the experience that will bring customers back. And unfortunately, my experience will have me looking elsewhere.

Went to brunch last Sunday with friends. The food was delightful, and our waiter was very nice. He asked if we'd be back next week, and when I explained that the drive from Indianapolis was simply too long with the 65 north bridge closed, he helpfully offered to have it reopened for me. Thinking bridge repairs were supposed to take another week or more, I agreed (even knowing that I had obligations back home next Sunday.) The bridge reopened the next day! I had no idea when he said he was like Olivia Pope that he really meant it! Now I'm stuck, because I have to be at a meeting at noon on Sunday nearly 4 hours away from the restaurant. Someone please go there for brunch and tell them the girl from Indianapolis sent you!

I went here after all the hype and everyone talking about it. I'm not sure if they remembered the right place or not but I don't understand the hype at all. This is your typically bar/restaurant/sort of brewery with some good drink specials and amazingly average food. At this point I've tried the bacon burger from here and it was very ok. Not terrible but nothing stood out. When they had it, I tried their pulled pork on a waffle. Let me tell you, it was smart that got rid of it because that sucked. I will probably eat here again with friends but only because they wanted to come here. There's so many better options around here, just move along.

I was visiting my folks in the burbs, and my best friend decided to take me out for an early birthday dinner. I first decided on this place because of the booze and the sweet potato tots, two things that win my heart every time. When we arrived, it was just past 5pm on a Wednesday, and they were NOT busy at all. We were seated right away. I actually never got our server's name, but I can tell you that he was great, even after he got slammed with a huge party of demanding business folks next to our table. Our server chatted with us, giving recommendations when needed and exchanged server nightmare stories with me, since I'm a server. I decided in the bison burger (and was able to make it bunless, so that I would be able to eat the whole thing - it was HUGE) with sweet tater tots. Both were amazing! I ordered the burger medium, but I think it was cooked a little more toward medium well, unfortunately. However, I was not about to send it back because who cares if it's cooked a smidgen longer? I didn't mind. My best friend got the shrimp tacos of some kind. I tried a piece of shrimp, and holy cow! The marinade was divine. Unfortunately, you only get 3 tacos, and the only wide is some cold bean salad. There should be chips and salsa with it or SOMETHING. So she ordered fries to go with it, which she said tasted great. To drink I got a pineapple margarita with no salt on the rim. They come in a super tall, girly glass. This cocktail was great! Not too sweet. I just love the way that tequila pairs with pineapple. My best friend got some kind of mojito. I want to say it was also pineapple. I tried a taste, and I loved it! The only suggestion is that they actually break the mint into a few pieces to extract the minty flavor a little bit more (from one bartender to another, out of love). I tried a sample of the watermelon martini. They sell so many that they are on tap. When they sell them, they pour from the tap, shake, and put them in a martini glass. If you like your drinks extremely sweet and not boozey, get this. If you like your martinis boozey, like I do, don't get it. Meh. We also, as I mentioned, came to celebrate my birthday. They brought out an adorable small cookie skillet with a small scoop of ice cream on top. The plate that it was on said "Happy Birthday" is caramel cursive lettering. How sweet and adorable!! And, uhhhhh, it was MAGICAL. Gooey, melty, delicious. My best friend got one of the mini desserts for herself - a creme brûlée. I'm not a fan of creme brûlée, so it was just ok to me. But she looooved it and polished it off. Overall, I would say our visit was exquisite, and I will be back!

GC is conveniently located right across the street from where I work, so I've frequented this place many many times for lunch. It's definitely a favorite in the area. They have a great diverse menu and the service is phenomenal. Today we had Aidan serving us, and this guy just went above and beyond what I typically expect out of any server. Aside from the superb service, he took the time to write what I ordered on my to-go box, and even dated it. Who does that!? It's those small, attention to detail kind of things that go a long way. Ask for Aidan! They have a quick, affordable lunch menu, and their food quality is just exceptional. For lunch, i've tried their Pepperoni Flat Bread, Cajun Pasta, Avocado Chicken Wrap, and their Buffalo Chicken Wrap, all with a side salad, or french fries. All good, must-have choices, with more than decent portions! Their beer and drinks are also great. I'm a huge fan of their Batch 1000 (Double IPA), even if it's the only one never on special. GC is spacious, and the atmosphere is great. They even have a private space available for events, and out door seating. Highly recommended!

Very nice experience, the food and drinks were exceptional! Starting with the wedge salad, (Best ever) good to the last bite! Batch 1000 is so good! Wife had juicy watermelon drink! She loved it! Great portions! Won't go home hungry! Reasonable prices! Sat outside on a beautiful evening! Will be back! Perhaps tonight!

I've been waiting for Granite City to open and when they did I was stoked to finally try them out. However when I did stop by to grab a bite for dinner with a friend, I wasn't impressed. LIKES *The decor was nice and the atmosphere was warm/slightly upscale for a bar/brewery type of restaurant DISLIKES *Our food was barely lukewarm and it arrived too quickly after placing our orders which made us skeptical of how fresh it was. *The food was not impressive. I had the bison short ribs and it was supposed to be tender...instead it was extremely dry and the portions weren't very big. My friend had the grilled chicken and asparagus linguini which was very bland. *Our waitress wasn't unfriendly per se but she wasn't too personable. When I mentioned that my food was dry and I just wanted to let her know, she told me I could go online to some link and comment on my dining experience there....um ok? *My friend had the "juicy watermelon martini" and it was too sweet for her taste and they were a little stingy on the alcohol. Overall my experience here wasn't the best. We had to wait 30+ minutes to be seated but given that it was a Saturday and they haven't been open for too long, I understand that they would be busy. I know they're new so I'll cut them some slack and hope they improve their food and service. I may give them another chance during happy hour but I'm not sure Granite City will be a place I frequent often.

If our server would not have been so awesome this probably would have been a four star place for me. Not to say the food was bad, because it was not by any means. I got a buffalo chicken flat bread that was super good! The spinach artichoke dip was ok, but probably not something I would order again. We also got the dessert trio. The berry cobbler did nothing for me, but the brownie was good, and the cookie was amazing. I could eat it every day. Some helpful hints: I was reluctant to take my kids here, but it is more restaurant than just bar (think Lucky Monk). They have a kids menu, so I know I will be back with my 5 yr old.

Pretty good! Its hilarious though, there is a Granite City by my work and I cannot see it from the road so I instantly thought it was a warehouse for Granite Counter tops. Then, when we saw the restaurant by Woodfield I was gladly mistaken. Came here for a dinner date with a bunch of friends. We started off with a couple of flatbreads, calamari, and some kind of cheese dip that I cannot remember (but it was super yummy). All of the appetizers were very tasty, I really like the BBQ chicken flatbread and the calamari -- it was Asian inspired, so it had a sweet heat. Everybody seemed please with their dinner selections; I heavily enjoyed my Asian Chicken Salad along with my Blueberry Mint Fauxtail. I liked that they had a separate section on the drink menu for Fauxtails. I mean this prego loves her Kiddie Cocktails, but its always embarrassing ordering it at a nice restaurant. Service was slow here and there, but they were insanely busy for a Thursday night. Prices are comparable to most burg establishments.

Atmosphere: It's a very beautiful building, because it's still new. The bar is large and accomidating. Service: The hosts were talking when we walked in and still continued to talk while we were waiting for them to address us...we didn't even get a hello as we entered the building. I know that they were teenage girls, but if you have a job I would expect you to take it seriously and not be rude to customers. Our server wasn't any better, Anna or Annie? She was at the host stand the whole time even though we could see her! At one point they all looked at our table, so it was obvious she was talking about us. And when my husband asked her a question about the fish tacos she just starred at him and walked away. We thought maybe she was asking a manager but when she came back she just asked us if we were ready to order. Food: The food was amazing. The shrimp diablo pasta was the best thing I've ever had. Probably the only reason I would go back. Maybe I'll just get take out. My hubby had the Big Show Burger which was huge! He also had the Batch 1000 specialty beer. Overall: If the management could maybe retrain the employees or just tell them to not make it so obvious when they are talking about customers? In the end the beer and food was amazing so hats off to the kitchen staff!! I mean as long as you get good food at the end of the day, its a good day.

Decided to visit for lunch with my co-workers. I have gone to another Granite City in Orland and Missouri and I could have sworn the menu was larger with way more options... Nevertheless, I found something, the flatbread combo! Great choice. The food was really good, the atmosphere was even better. I thought this was a great place for a working lunch and and even better place for a date! I went to open table and made a reservation for two on the weekend for me and my love! Thanks Granite City for a great time, great food, and oh did i mention the beer (no because i didnt drink during lunch, but i did have beer when we came back on our date! :)

This was an unexpected surprise. And, we learned as we were leaving that they'd been open less than one week! We read some of the Yelp reviews and opted to try Granite City in Schaumburg. We arrived at 6:30 on a Sunday night and were seated right away. It took a few minutes before anyone came by the table. We really didn't notice time had passed - we were seated in front of the fireplace and were enjoying watching the flames. A server approached and asked if anyone had greeted us yet. They hadn't, so she brought us menus, told us about the special meals and drinks. We ordered some of the Double IPA and she brought it right away. She must have said something to the server who was working our table because from that point, she handled us. First, the beer. My son and I both tried the Double IPA and the Oatmeal Stout. Both were excellent. The IPA had the bitterness and bite you would expect, and the you could taste coffee and chocolate in the stout - it was also very creamy. Onto the food - we had an order of wings to start - 3 Mango Habanero and 3 Old Bay Spice. One thing I can't stand about wings in restaurants is they tend to be undercooked. But not these - they were perfect. The Mango wings could have been hotter, but the Old Bay wings were a real treat. I never would have thought to put Old Bay on wings. For dinner I had the Bison Burger with sweet potato tots, my wife had the Asian Chicken Salad and my son had the Meatloaf. I got try all of them and they were each fantastic in their own ways. The salad was one of the best I've ever had. The meatload was served on a bed of green beans which in turn were on a crustini. On top of the meatloaf was a large serving of mashed potatoes and onion straws. But, the Bison Burger was truly outstanding. Typically, Bison is overcooked to the point of it being dry. Not here - it was cooked just right and was juicy and delicious. The sweet potato tots had all of the flavor of sweet potatoes in the crunchy texture of tots. Our server was personable and friendly and made us feel welcome. We plan to make this a regular stop on our meal circuit!

Ok so I LOVE the fish tacos; the place was SUPER loud it was hard to talk to the other couple and the here is the bad part...service sucked! So our server started out being great, but as the night went on and things came out of the kitchen WRONG and LATE he almost took it out on us. Even our dessert was wrong! No manager came over, nothing was done for the mistakes made, this is not the first time this has happened at this location...not sure I will go back here maybe Nashville instead.

One of the perks of working in the Woodfield area is the plethora of available options for lunch. I had a customer treat me to lunch and since I was open as to where we would have lunch and my vendor decided on Granite City. I had heard such positive things about this place that I was excited to go. For being a Woodfield area place to go, I expected a wait to grab lunch since we arrived right at noon. To my surprise, we were able to be seated right away. Our waitress was nice enough but not attentive. We were there for roughly an hour and our waitress only checked in once. I ordered the steak salad for lunch and it was pretty tasty. The dressing was light and sweet and I really enjoyed it. The steak was flavored perfect and complimented the salad dressing well. The place is really loud and I would say louder than others in the area but the ambiance is fantastic.

Overall our experience was poor, our waitress was unprofessional; always had excuses. For example the plates she gave were dirty, their happy hour online doesn't match what the waitress told us, she said the online menu is wrong. Also my friends food came out with sesame seeds all over it and specifically telling the waitress no sesame seeds because she's very allergic. The manager came and apologize and was very nice. But overall in the area there are better restaurant to go to even though the food was actually pretty good.

Excellent! The service, ambiance and especially food was great! A must try for the Schaumburg area! You walk in and can smell the scent of the unfinished wood around the building. It was a create way to enter a local brewery and restaurant. I will definitely be going back in the near future! I ordered a New York strip steak with a horseradish crust sided with seasonal vegetables and asparagus! Yum!!

It heir lunch menu is very tasty and for the quality the price is absolutely right. The staff is very friendly and are happy to explain the menu or help with any questions you have. They are very quick with refills on non- alcoholic drinks and overall very friendly. I can only speak for their lunch but I never had to wait long for my order. The only slightly confusing thing is their entrance I never manage to walk in the main entrance and always leave through a random door never knowing where exactly I am. But I guess this is just me!

This place kinda sucks. I've been a couple times and I won't be going back. The beer itself is pretty good, but the food is average and each time I've been the service was terrible. I can't stand a restaurant where the waitstaff acts like their customers are in the way. Each time we asked for something, the server ran from the table before we could ask for anything else. As a result each time we got something we had to ask for the next - if we could catch them in time. Meanwhile, it looked like the servers were standing around talking about us and other customers (one of them says something, they all look at one table, start talking again...) This place is a good idea with (so far) really poor execution. Find another spot.

GC is one of the best places for a great meal and good drinks. The beer is brewed in house and the specials are always on point. The service has yet to disappoint. The only draw back is parking but they do have free valet parking which is very convenient.

Meh. A perfect word to describe the lunch me and my 3 co-workers had here yesterday. The place was completely packed at lunch, so, naturally, our food took quite a while to come out. Our waitress was good, though. However, the acoustics in here are terrible, and when it's crowded you literally have to shout at each other across the table. 3 of us got wraps and fries, one got a burger. When the food showed up it looked like it'd been sitting under a hot lamp for 15 minutes. Everything was really salty. We all left agreeing we'd never go back. Maybe other items are great, but not worth trying for me.

Granite City is finally in Schaumburg! I have been to Granite City before at other locations, but this was my first visit here. This location is very nice - open, modern, and even a bit classy. I came here with some co-workers to get some drinks and apps after work. I got the light beer flight (you can choose between 3 pre-made flights or make your own). I liked every beer that I had. We also ordered the potato skins, edamame, and the pepperoni flatbread. Everything was really good. Our server was very nice, but I think he was still learning the menu (not too surprising since they are still pretty new). We asked a few questions and he didn't know the answers. Regardless, we had a nice time and I would come back.

For my first time here I must say I loved the place. Our server Carl was super friendly and very attentive, he made some beer suggestions for my friend and he loved the beers he tried. Of course I couldn't decide what to get and he made a few suggestions and I'm glad I listened! My friend ordered a burger (not sure what it was) but he loved it, cooked the way he liked it and he didn't finish it all! Huge burger! I on the other hand decided to go with the Cajun Chicken Pasta and it was amazing! So much flavor and pretty large portion. Their cocktails are so good! I loved the crazy monkey or something like that haha very fresh and sweet! Overall the place is big and everyone was quite friendly but our server definitely made it a great night thank you Carl! Definitely recommend this place.

Great food. Great staff. Great atmosphere. You can't go wrong with a place like this. I've been here twice with friends and they haven't disappointed us yet. The first time we came was for dinner and the second time we came was for brunch. Both times the food and drinks were delicious. The wait staff and chefs are very friendly. Check them out!

for a chain, particularly a brewery, granite city constantly impresses my palate. it is an upscale brewery based upon its decor and the menu range. i'm a little too obsessed with the crispy shrimp tacos and therefore have not explored other menu options. that said, the shrimp tacos are glorious. the key lies in the flavor and texture profile of the shrimp and the Santa Fe cream. I did try a faux tail - the blueberry mint lemonade. it was rather unimpressive. it merely tasted like blueberries + lemonade, as the mint was not muddled enough. it was essentially like drinking two separate beverages, rather than a mixed drink. the reason this review is not five out of five stars is because of our waitress. she was a bit aloof and not knowledgeable about the menu. she was unable to provide adequate answers to simple questions.

I TRIED: - PB & J Boneless Wings (4/10) - Pretzels & Cheese (8/10) - Bruschetta Salad (9/10) - Northern Cheddar & Ale Soup (7/10) - Crispy Shrimp Tacos (10/10) - Pulled Pork Waffle Sandwich (6/10) Some friends and I decided to check this place out, since it just opened. My expectation was that this was just going to be on par with RAM, which I'm not a huge fan of, so I didn't really get my hopes up. As soon as we sat down and ordered our beers, I was frantically Googling and Yelping. Since this place is new, it only has a handful of reviews. I found out this place started in St. Cloud, MN, so I searched for the location there, which still only had about 130 reviews. None of the buzz items really matched, so I really didn't know what to try. So...we ordered a bunch! PB&J WINGS This has to be the most exotic thing we tried. Who thinks to put PB&J on wings? Now, I absolutely love peanut butter, and love PB&J (see: Little Goat - Fat Elvis Waffles and DMK Burger Bar - PB Shake), but this is a bad idea. I tried to figure out what this would taste like, and everything I could come up with tasted bad or weird. Then I tried them, and sure enough, they're weird! The boneless chicken is great! It's got some crunchy parts, not as crunchy as BW3, but still good, and the seasoning on the chicken was great! I'm sure almost any other sauce could probably benefit from this. Peanut butter? Nope! Plus, the jelly tasted more like Chambord liqueur than actual jelly. My guess is that somebody tried chicken satay and said, "OMG! I bet this would work on wings!" And while that statement might be true, chicken satay with peanut sauce is completely different than PB&J! That stuff has lime, fish sauce, and ginger added to it to give it its flavor, in addition to the peanut butter. Even without the jelly, this still wouldn't work. Basically, the boneless chicken flavors and the peanut butter flavors were completely at odds with each other creating a cacophony of one trying to outdo the other. Swing & a miss! I hope this is not a taste of things to come! BRUSCHETTA SALAD I love bruschetta, mainly because the tomatoes are so good! This is like bruschetta on steroids and ephedrine! The salad is probably 1/2 tomatoes (some sliced, some diced) and the rest is a little bit of spring mix, black olives, chicken, and what's not seen is the basalmic, basil, garlic, and olive oil spread throughout. Also, there are 6-8 pieces of toasted baguette whose texture was perfect! Crunchy crust, crispy/toasty middle, and chewy in the very center, while still being a little crispy. All are brilliantly baptized (not the Baptists' way) with olive oil and maybe rubbed with some garlic. You have to resist the temptation to just eat it by itself. The tomatoes are all so incredibly flavorful and they're carefully infused with the balsamic vinegar, that eating them alone would be gratifying. All the flavors together, though, make an incredible symphony! ...except that one oddball...black olives. I think I'll order without next time. CHEDDAR SOUP Basically a beer cheese soup, but not very beer-y, which is actually a good thing! Beer is great, but when it spills into my soup, it's not great. The soup is cheesy, obviously, but perfect thickness, and not acidic, like some have been in the past. Very refreshing. SHRIMP TACOS This was why one of my friends was wanting to come here. He said the shrimp tacos were to die for! To be honest, when I get a recommendation like that, I'm 1/2 excited and 1/2 skeptical. I've been disappointed many times. As soon as I touched the tortilla, I was worried. It felt cold and cheap, like Taco Bell's soft shell. Then I took a bite. I don't know how to explain this to you, but just talking texture, the bite was engineered for perfection! There's lettuce, pico de gallo, and crispy shrimp, in a cheap soft shell taco. Even just the sound of your teeth going through all those crispy/crunchy/meaty layers was so satisfying; even more so the feel! The soft tortilla actually helps accentuate this by giving you the soft layer first, right before clamping into all the crunchy stuff. Makes you wonder...cosmic accident or intelligent design? Then the flavors begin to excite the senses. The Asian glaze brings you this beautiful sweet & salty bite with probably soy, garlic, maybe plum sauce, and then chili, which starts to build a kick. Moving toward the next bite, you pick up the savory shrimp flavors with the breading, and the heat builds, but then cilantro comes in with its flavor of freshness, which begin to cool off the outskirts, and then you finally get the cool, buttery, Santa Fe Cream sauce blanket to put out the flame, and heal the tongue...in preparation for the next bite! You do have the option of avocado, and honestly, I felt like it was a side grade. It dulled the peaks & valleys a bit, but it also added a nice extra buttery flavor to the whole bite. I'd probably do without next time. DIAMOND STATUS NoRoom. AWESOME!

So far so good. Very good homemade chicken noodle soup, wedge salad is among the best I have had. Best lunch of Schaumburg!!

Have been here on three separate occasions. The first time was within the first few weeks of opening and we had great service and pretty good food. Second time was good but in our latest visit, we had less than stellar service, and the food was not good at all. I had a bruschetta salad and my husband had the pulled pork and waffles. My salad was not good-un flavorful and gave me a stomach ache. Our waitress was unfriendly and slow-taking over 10 minutes to get a side of salad dressing. Parking was horrible and we were forced to valet. The first two visit are the only reason this is a 3 star rating.

So far so good! I really liked Granite City. Went during lunch on a Thursday around 1120a and got there just in time to beat the rush. By the time our food came the place was packed. I ordered the lunch special of their Cajun pasta and a wedge salad. The pasta had a nice flavor and lots of sausage and chicken. My lunch companions ordered the fish and chips and their bbq chicken wings (appetizer) and both enjoyed their meals. One raved about the ranch dressing (all ranch ain't the same everywhere, yo)! I'll definitely be back because they had tons of things I wanted to try, but my belt only has so many notches...

Granite City Food & Brewery has opened in Schaumburg! I went last night with a couple of coworkers for some happy hour brews and bites to try things out. From what I understand, they just opened this week so I'm going to go easy on them. :) When we walked in, millions of hosts greeting us and slightly clunky lead in to get us seated. My thought on this is they just opened so this will be ironed out. Everyone working was very nice but there were tons and tons of workers walking around looking for something to do. Plus when we checked in with the hosts, they made us feel like we should have had a reservation...even though we arrived at 4:45 and it was practically empty. Again, I'm sure it's just an opening thing of getting everyone used to working so they must each only have like two tables and just not have enough to do. All these small service things are completely forgiven in an opening week. I think Granite City is a very viable option for happy hour after work. From 3-6pm they have some great food specials and each day Monday to Friday there is some kind of drink special. Yesterday the drink special was $3 pints of their in house beers. I've been to another Granite City location before so I was familiar with their beers. I'm not head over heels with any however they are all solid options ranging from 2.5-3.5 bottlecaps for me on Untappd. We tried many food options between the three of us that were on their special Happy Hour menu which included: +Pepperoni Flatbread $5 - Loved this. It was just like a slightly healthier pizza. Yum! +Potato Skins $5 - 5 came in an order and they were pretty tasty. A bit skinnier than those I've seen at other places and loaded with tomatoes on top. I moved the tomatoes off the top and chowed down on the bad boys. +PB&J Wings $5 - With such a unique flavor on the menu, how could we not order these!? You can order the wings either with or without bones which is fabulous they have a boneless option. The order comes with 5 in a bowl & either ranch or bleu cheese. Now, the PB&J in particular, well, they were interesting. They really did taste like peanut butter with a dash of jelly on top. These weren't our favorite of the night but they are definitely something unique to try. +Orange Hoisin Wings $5 - I really liked these and they were probably my favorite of the wing flavors. They had that Chinese food flare with quite a kick to them. +Old Bay Dry Rub Wings $5 - My coworkers liked these the best. They had a nice spice to them and were enjoyed by all. +Pulled Pork Tacos $5 - These came in a set of 3. I thought they were just okay, a little dry and probably not something I'd get again unless I really had that pork craving. Aside from what we tried, they had a lot on their regular menu that looked quite good but things seemed a bit pricey. They do have lunch time deals for $9 so I'm sure I will bring my coworkers over here to give it a go at lunch. Overall, I'm happy to see Granite City join the neighborhood and think it's a great option for happy hour after work. Love the chill yet classy atmosphere of the place and I'm sure any service kinks will be worked out in time. Solid beers, solid food and looking forward to trying more!

Food was good and the beers were cold. The service however was lacking. 31:28 was the time it took for us to get our order. Took 21:38 to get the beers from the time we ordered our drinks at the onset. The check was on the table and card was placed in folder and it took 2 minutes for that to be complete. You can tell where the priority is at here. Hopefully because this place is new in the area that they work all the bugs quickly because this place will be closed soon if they don't get their act straight with all the competition around here.

The food was good. It was taking awhile so assuming they were busy, we ordered a Togo order and got it at the same time as the meal.....The beer was good, but a flight has small glasses(about 8oz I'm guessing) so when they came half full it was kind of disappointing. But they brought samples to accommodate so that was nice. It was my first time here and I'm definitely not shutting them out but the service was awful. Our server didn't bring the waters we asked for and then asked who was supposed to bring them. Duh, you! And she asked if she could bring anyone a box, and we said yes. Next time we saw her, she asked if we needed anything.....how about a box? She had no knowledge of the beers or the menu except that they had a burger menu for the Fourth of July. It's the 24th..... Ps. They have a club, I asked how to join, she said I had to order a beer. Guess who never got signed up?

One of the perks of working in the northwest suburbs is the plethora of available options for any meal. I watched with enthusiasm as Granite City was being built thinking a) good location and b) nothing wrong with another craft beer. I had never heard of Granite City so I thought I would do a quick Google Search and it seemed to get many favorable reviews. For being a new place I expected a wait to grab lunch since we arrived right at noon. To my surprise, we were able to be seated right away. Our waitress was nice enough but not attentive. We were there for roughly an hour and our waitress only checked in once. Nothing to complain about but nothing to rave about either. My date likes our little intimate lunches but some extra water would had been nice. I ordered the chicken breast topped with our creamy spinach artichoke dip, Spinach Artichoke, provolone cheese, lettuce and tomato. Served on grilled oat wheat bread lunch and it was pretty tasty. It was a lite order but very feeling. Perfect for lunch. The place is really loud and I would say louder than others in the area but the ambiance is fantastic. I only gave 3/5 stars because for the price I thought I was paying to be somewhere cool when all I wanted was a nice meal. Got the meal but the pricing was a bit high. Looks to be a new cougar/silver fox bar. Cool but eh.

I was lucky enough to come in on their 3rd day of business. The decor is very modern and upscale while being casual and welcoming for those of us in hoodies. I love microbrewery restaurants. They seem to be popping up everywhere, reminded me of Lucky Monk or Claim Jumper.. Of course beer lovers need to get in here and try a flight. They offer preselected light flights, dark flights, etc.. The specials on mixed drinks was a big hit with my fiance and friend. Ladies will love the flying monkey ( check out the pic), or the watermelon martini. its innovative! We did not have dinner here, just a flatbread pizza which was a bit too cheesy.. but i would very much come back to try more of the menu and more of the beer. They also have a growler club similar to other places like this.. granite city is a keeper at a really good location.

Love the atmosphere, beautiful building. Food was amazing, the toasted bun of my burger was great. The service was great! Our waitress was lovely and cheerful. Everything was almost perfect. My only complaint was the staff, more specifically the general manager. While I was waiting for my table I over heard staff talking about the GM, and how they were unhappy with how they were treated by him and so on. The GM made an appearance at our table to check on us and I could understand what they were talking about. Very condescending feeling and he was very rude. If management changes, I will return. This is why I only give this place one star.

I have been there for lunch and brunch and the place did not disappoint. The food is really good, drinks specials and craft beer are also really good. They have a Sunday brunch for only $20 that is hard to beat. Huge spread with lots of options and everything is fresh.

The place is decent but I doubt I will go back, I had the Mac and cheese with chicken and bacon, the other half had a bacon burger. The food was good, but not great, nothing to write home about, but it is a chain restaurant so I'm sure most of the food is prepared. The drinks were incredibly weak, not getting a buzz after 3 drinks is not a good sign. The decor of the restaurant is really nice, four of us sat in a booth and had to scream in order to hear each other because it was so loud in the dining room. Whoever thought designing restaurants into empty caverns is a moron. I seriously will not go back because of this. So if you are meeting someone that you really don't want to hear this is your place!
