This review is only for the food as we just got take out. We ordered two large beef fried rices and some crab rangoon. Our total was about 20 dollars. I loved the rice. While there was a few fatty bits of meat it was still really good. The Crab Rangoon was pretty good but there wasnt much inside it. Overall I will come back for the rice for sure! Yum!

Open SEVEN days a week until 9 or 10pm! We've been slowly working our way through Chen's house specialties and have been pleased with everything so far. The Singapore noodles are our favorite, with the Kung Poa Shrimp a close second. Egg rolls are not quite as large as Sun Shui but also excellent and we don't have to pour the oil out of the wrappers. We also usually get a HUGE container of hot and sour soup that last time had some egg white AND bbq pork in it, DELICIOUS. Spice has been moderate on the spicy dishes. English is good enuf and our orders have been right on time every time. I noted Rob's excellent point about their Health Inspection rating and I have only seen that one other place in Palatine, the Burger King on Northwest Highway. So WAY cleaner than most (Avoid Billy's Pancake House in Palatine until they get their usually dismal ratings up). Definitely fits the yummy hole in the wall category. Carryout only. Small parking lot and easy to miss a little SE on Rand from Caputuo's demolition derby parking lot.

This dive joint isn't too bad. Most of the rice dishes are tasty, but the noodle dish can be bland. The lunch portion is good too.

Pretty good chinese food for take-out. It's for when u wanna stay home and order delivery. The location is somewhat hidden and almost sketchy, and it smells in the restaurant (with no seating), and the workers are strange, but the food is good. The fried rice is flavorful and the crab rangoon has a sweet onion taste to it which is nice. I would order from here again, but not often.

We decided to try this place because we got an ad/menu/coupon for them in Valpak. We both got the lunch special (and paid $1.25 more because it was dinnertime), which comes with chicken fried rice, an egg roll, and a can of pop. My fiance got Mongolian Beef, and I got Chicken with Garlic Sauce (which isn't on the lunch special menu, but they did it anyway). I was definitely not impressed. Everything was way too oily. The eggroll had no flavor and no meat in it, pretty much just cabbage. The fried rice, while it tasted ok, was amazingly greasy/oily. I've never had such oily fried rice. The Chicken with Garlic Sauce was pretty good, it was just chicken and onion in a brown sauce. It was pretty oily too though. My fiance's Mongolian Beef was good and spicy, but greasy and mushy. Positives: the service was excellent, very friendly they accommodated my special request flavor was alright prices are fairly cheap Negatives: way too greasy flavor was nothing special packages leaked We won't be going there again.

The only reason we went here is because it was the closest place that has smoothies with tapioca pearls. They're decently priced, too. But the lady can barely speak English & I had to repeat everything two or three times. Also, there is a minimum charge of $10 for credit cards; lame. At first the lady said they did not have tapioca pearls and we sort of groaned and mentioned that's why we went there, and then all of a sudden, they had tapioca pearls, but it would take 10 minutes to boil them. Pretty sketchy & rude of her to flat out lie to us! I'd rather be told I have to wait for something rather than be lied to. We decided to wait. It was kind of a joke that they even had tables in the place; they're all tiny & old. Not really the place you want to sit down & eat at. We kept ourselves busy while waiting for the food by riding a kids' tricycle that was in the corner. When we finally got our smoothie, the tapioca pearls were mostly hard in the center; not boiled enough. I told the lady & sent it back. Luckily, she took it & replaced the smoothie with tapioca pearls that were thoroughly cooked & gummy, just as they should be. The food was ok; I can't really tell a difference in quality of chinese food, but my boyfriend said it wasn't great. I think the only reason I would go back here is for the smoothie, but I'll be sure to call ahead & place the order, considering they have to boil the tapioca after taking an order.

We went here because we were researching places in the area that offered bubble tea (smoothies with tapioca pearls), instead of driving out to schaumburg. I recently moved to Palatine and was excited to find a place that seemed to have decently priced chinese that would fulfill my exceeding hangover. The lady that took our order made it seem like us ordering was an inconvenience to her. When we ordered our smoothies, the tapioca pearls were under cooked and we asked politely if she could have it remade. I didn't particularyly feel like having my teeth destroyed. While the food was sub-par, we have been been back another time for the smoothies alone, but wouldn't recommend it to our friends.

Decided to try some delivered "Chinese" (this restaurant in particular is Cantonese) today and this place proved to me it was the right choice. The man who delivers (and I believe he's the one who took my order, as well) was super nice and when I wasn't sure what I wanted he waited in the phone for a minute or so for me. When I got the food (as you'll see), they gave us a huge portion. We got the potstickers, chicken lo mein, the sesame lunch special and egg rolls of course. As far as delivery time, it only took about 30 minutes. Basically as long as pizza would take. Everything was simply great and Id definitely order from them again if I was ordering Chinese.

Been wondering about this place for awhile. It's a hole in the wall shop within a tiny strip mall, but some people I know had said their food was decent, so I decided to try it out. One thing that impressed me was their ranking from Palatine Health inspections. The last three are all 93 plus - among the best I've seen in Palatine. I ordered Mongolian Beef (lunch size) and pot stickers. Generally it was pretty good, though the eggroll was pretty non-descript. Can of soda with lunch is better to me than soup, which can vary widely. They told me 15 minutes and that's what it took. The entrée was good - a touch spicier than most MB's I've had. The crispy noodles were on the bottom, so by the time I got to them, they weren't too crispy anymore. Pot stickers were standard - nothing outstanding or bad either! Nice alternative to Yu's in AH - my usual Chinese to-go stop.

Chen's is my new favorite Chinese. The Crab Rangoon and egg rolls we handmade and the dough was Delish! You can actually tast crab in the Rangoon. The different levels of spice compounded is such a way that you can't stop eating the food. We had Kung pow beef, sesame chicken, and spicy fried rice. All were outstanding! Can't wait to order again.

Chinese Cuisine

The popularity of Chinese food in America can be adjudicated by the appearance of China Town in many major cities in the United State of America. The popular trend of ordering or opting for Chinese take away food isn't unknown in America. Chinese take away food comes to rescue when you're too tired from work or too exhausted to cook. No one can resist the temptation of eating spicy noodles, shrimp, chicken, beef or pork cooked in the sweet and spicy sauce. The cooking method of authentic Chinese food is a lot different compared to what is served in America.

Generally, Chinese use dark meat small bones and organs to cook dishes but this changes when you are eating American-Chinese fusion food prepared using white boneless meat cooked with broccoli, carrots and onions. Back in China, the food is less spicy and oily as they favor steaming and braising method for cooking the most popular dishes. So, if you have a taste for authentic Chinese food, then try finding a real Chinese restaurant in the city. You can also try the most popular fusion Chinese food like Pecking Duck, Chicken Feet, Hot Pot, Shrimp Dumpling Soup, Mapo Tofu, Wontons, Chop Suey, Egg Rolls and not to forget Fortune Cookies.

There are not many restaurants in America serving authentic Chinese food. A little research on Restaurant Listings directory can help you locate the best Chinese restaurants in the city. Chinese cuisine is continuously evolving, and you can find a variety of dishes categorized as the food for lactose intolerant, gluten intolerant, vegan, vegetarian, and diabetic friendly. So, if you have a group of friends with different taste patterns, save the hassle and visit the nearest Chinese restaurant in your city.
