Never ever ever have my husband and I received such horrible food on delivery. My husband ordered a dozen buffalo wings, and even put in the comments that he'd like them as spicy as possible. What he got was SIX parmesean wings, which were ultimately burnt, flavorless chicken wings covered in melted cheese. They went right into the trash. The sampler appetizer platter was a tin full of disgusting, grease dripping pile of mystery food - I am certain it was a result of throwing into the fryer whatever they had laying around the kitchen. I ordered the steak sandwich, which turned out to be a sopping wet combination of hockey-puck steak thrown onto two pieces of burnt bread. There was no tomato, pickle, or horseradish. I cannot, for the life of me, understand how this place exists. So, so terribly bad. Complete waste of money. Edit: my husband called Playbook.. The manager never once said the words "I'm sorry," and in fact said that it was because he had so many orders going out at once so "sometimes this happens." To his (very small amount) of credit, he did instruct us to call GrubHub, and told us that when they call Playbook he will authorize a refund. So, we got our money back, but the unapologetic, rude manager was just another strike against this place. We will certainly never be ordering again.

I go out a lot but have never in my life had such horrible service. We had to ask for several times for each and every drink and food item we ordered. It's a shame because the food is very decent for bar food, as is the atmosphere. It was a slow night also, so there is no excuse. I don't know if they fail to train their servers or what. I would love to give it more stars for the food/atmosphere, but the service was so horrible that you will never get to enjoy your food or drink.

Great for watching sports. TV's at every angle. The food is exceptional. All American Burger was cooked perfect. Sweet potato fries were some of the best I've had. Service was great. This is a place you'll want to come back to.

It's basically a sports bar-lounge, meets Euro bar in one. The rumor is the guys behind Accent cafe are behind the scenes here. That's what's said, not sure if it's true. Accent cafe was a money maker for the Eastern European community, not to mention, the place to be on weekend nights. Although I can't say it was a place you'd find most "other" people. I'm glad the same isn't portrayed here. Here it's for everyone. Even on a random weeknight, you can find a good selection of peoples out for a drink and dressy. Not the suburban bar Midwestern typical attire either, a scosh better. For this area of the burbs, it's gotta be the most popular bar. For at least a group of my suburban friends, they've now shifted from their regular spots to checking out this weekly. Nicely decorated, well lit areas and some more cozy spots to get your flirt on. I want to say there are two main bars and one smaller one which is occasionally open with a beer tub girl. Nightly specials on booze mostly and sometimes food. Their food is better than the average place. Near the front entrance is a piece of art of showcasing beer bottles offered, encased in glass. As Yelper Liz W. mentions in her review " You would not expect a place like this to be located in Niles". True. For some time the bar has been a rage on weekends. The provided parking lot often spilling over, so for more parking there is a rocky lot offered a few blocks North on Milwaukee. Watch out for valet parking that may stop you so they can score a valet fee.

Would give 3.5 stars. Pros: Good sized bar with decent bar food and drink prices. Good amount of TV's and when it's nice they have outdoor seating. Cons: My waitress was kind of rude at first, parking was a problem for my friends (they have valet though). I'll be going back to see if I just got a waitress who was having a bad day or if they all seem miserable.

Came here to watch Germany beat the bricks of Brazil. Amazing game btw! This game will be talked about for years!!! We sat at the bar and service was great! Our bartender was very attractive (not that it matters or anything but she was hot and great to look at lol). She was very attentive and took care of us. The bar is a nice modern bar and it looks stylish. The food and liquor was great.

Seriously yelp there are places that deserve ZERO stars. It is a cool looking bar but thats as far as my nice words go. I have been to this place a dozen times and not once have i said oh what a great joint this is. Hubby and I even had our first date here. Crappy place to have your first date, i know but it was picked due to the location more than anything. Needless to say i am not coming back to this place. The food is awful, normal bar food that is crappy and greasy. The attitude of the servers and doormen sucks. I refuse to visit the joint. If i go out to eat I want to have a good time, not get irritated by the uncountable amount of attitude.

Been here a couple of times. First time was with some buddies who happen to be Polish (they love this spot). It looks amazing not just for a suburban bar but in general. Its modern, clean, and has a really nice patio. The place from inside looks like something that would be downtown, but outside your reminded your in niles. Obviously the location could be better, its literally across a cemetery, with nothing else really around. But this place caters to pretty much anything you need. Its a sports bar, it can be a lounge, happy hour whatever. Pretty standard bar food here, Kung Foo shrimp is deff a must try! Gotta comeback and see how this place is for bears or bulls game, but Im sure it will be a good time!

Enjoyed Playbook again last night. We took advantage of the $5.00 appetizers and had crab cakes, macaroni and cheese, crab stuffed mushrooms and the all American sliders. Beer for him, mojitos for me. Delicious!!

Love the Kung Foo Shrimp!! The service has always been awesome, even when they are packed for big games. Great selection of beers, games, and tvs to watch on.

I actually didn't even want to give a star. THE WORST service I've ever gotten. Waitress came and we asked for a minute to look over the menu. She never came back. The hostess asked if we'd been taken care of. She finally took our order after our waitress just walked around and talked to people. The hostess even went to talk to her about checking on our table and she just walked away. It was also dead inside. No excuses. The hostess then never came back and some random guy came to take our cups. We waiting too long and the waitress and hostess seemed to have an attitude as if we were bothering them. I was so disappointed. It was my first time there and I had been told by many friends they enjoyed the place. I wouldn't recommend going there. The employees all looked miserable to be there and were terrible at their job. We'll never go back again.

Football and Game of the week on a Sunday afternoon and this place was DEAD. I came here with a friend and we ordered the Miller Lite bucket and some food. The food is average and really just basic food. I would really encourage Play Book to revisit the menu because this is 2014 and more and more people are vegetarian/vegan and barely was able to find 4 dishes on the menu. You are better off going somewhere else...I really wanted to give this place a shot but don't think it is going to last. I will say though, service was good and the place inside did look upscale and well put together.

Ok, this will be my revised and updated review for Play Book. After one year past since my other bad review of this place, Im happy to let you know that Im changing my mind from 1 to 4 stars. We came back to Play Book few times during last 8 months and there is nothing to complain about. Most of the times we sit at the bar and enjoy the company and exelent service from their bartender - the coolest girl of them all. Another great improvement - their new brunch menu that even offers pancakes (tried them and they taste just like homemade)! Their Hail Mary drink always makes me laugh, because it seems like every time they add another ingredient to the garnish, which will eventually become my lunch meal. Also, I appreciate the fact that after posting a bad review on Yelp about our "cappuccino incident", tha management of Play Book reached out and offered their apologies . We visited Play Book today, during the lunch hour and I was happy to see how busy they were. Keep up the good work and how about additional parking during the weekend ? ;)

I used to like this place, the food was great and plentiful, the waitresses pleasant, the drinks good. But I'm not going back again. One of my favorite items on the menu were the Asian steak skewers and today they were so thin, I tasted more grilled bamboo stick than meat. If the owner considers that this is the place to cut corners, then he can eat those portions himself! I will not spend $10 on an appetizer that is barely big enough to fill a cavity. Besides, half of the waitresses in that place are nasty enough to work for the customs service in an eastern European country. Very disappointed!

Staff is really nice and very attentive. Have been here multiple times and same good experiences. Food is very good for a sports bar especially steak tacos. Place gets packed at night on special sports events. Great place to hang out for both women and men. But theres some good scenery for the men :)

Barely a star. Ordered wings regular and boneless. Horrible. Asked for the "buffalo hot" and received plain wings that we cold and soggy. The celery and carrots are the size of my pinky, but were sadly the best part of my order.

My rating is mainly due to the food and drinks. Other than that, I don't see why anyone would want to be there. The bar food is pretty good and the drinks are very generous. My first and last time being there was to get together with long time friends who work in the area. We were seated outside since we arrive early. Our server was ok until our group grew larger and she had to bring more drinks. You'd think she'd be happy about but it seemed to bother her. She avoided us, only came to the table when we would call her and walked away when the whole table wasn't ready to order instead of getting the drinks for the other half who was ready. Her attitude reflected in her tone and voice every time we ordered anything. We were asked to move twice also. After a high tab that included gratuity, we added a tip for all the trouble and never saw her again despite the fact we were not done and needed water. So much for service! Another thing that bothered me was that they have a patio but the neighbors seem to complain about the noise. Why not have it enclosed then? I don't foresee anyone going back there again.

I'm actually pretty surprised that this place isn't that packed on weekdays!! I've been here on a Friday night and it's really busy. But I always come here during the weekdays with a friend of mine for lunch or dinner. The place is really nice. I've never had a problem with the service and the food is really good. The drinks selection is really good too. I always order the chicken on ciabatta. Highly recommend getting the firecracker sauce with your fries. So good. I really like this place. The prices are reasonable. The food is good. And the place is very clean. The only thing I recommend to the restaurant is possibly adding a pizza section to their menu. All of the other bar foods have it and it might even increase business. Plus, everyone loves pizza. You can't go wrong with that!

I went to playbook with friends the other day, I found the place very a little loud with dance music and some lasers going around. I am not sure I will go back...Service was just the worst!! Our server was absolutely annoying ... she wouldn't stop talking (about how she is new there ...as if i care about that) and was so overly energetic as if she drank a few redbulls in a row. Other than that food was OK. Easy to get a reservation. I would give it another chance as long as I don't get that server ever again!!

Im giving this place 3 stars because the food and drinks were great and the vibe was good which isnt easy to find at bars in the suburbs. but i was completely turned off by the valet scam they have going. I was with a very large crowd tonight and when i pulled into the parking lot i was told i had to pay a 5 dollar valet fee. Um this is the suburbs and it was 7:00 and the parking lot was empty. when i mentioned this to the valet i was told it was the owners orders. Turns out some friends of mine who were already inside refused to pay and were told by the manager that he was not aware of this fee that was being charged. Ya right. Then as some of our group was leaving the valet tried to say they never paid and tried to charge another 5 dollars to leave. theyre lucky they didnt get run over. Again i was told by the manager that her wasnt aware. Its the fucking suburbs. Valet is a joke and so is ur $5 dollar hustle. its a shame too because i had a good time here.

So my friends and I decided to go to a bar for the football games. We decided on "Play Book." Four of us sat at the high tables in the middle of the bar. We were left alone for sometime until "Agatha" the waitress showed up. We got a few beers and food, the server didn't know much of the menu or at all. The burger I got was newest to the menu "The Fire House" the burger had no taste or what they mentioned on the menu. Highly disappointed with flavor. After the meal we received our check and found that there were "ADD" charges across the board!! .50 for BBQ sauce .50 a pickle 3.00 for changing from fries to tater tots. 3.00 for tater tots my heavens!! Up charged us on our drinks. Two things could be wrong here, one is she doesn't know the difference between "ADD" and "substitute" or she was not trained right. Please tell your customers of the up charge or "Add" charges in the future.. I like the place but killing my pocket didn't help my experience

We were here celebrating a friend's birthday. We will not be back. It was a Saturday night and my friend had reserved tables, but there was not nearly enough space for people to even walk around the tables and talk to eachother. Way too crowded. The waitress was overwhelmend and it took effort on our part to get drinks ordered the first time, but once she knew we were with the party she was more helpful. Appetizers were average at best. At this point we had enjoyed ourselves and it felt like an average night out. But then we tried to leave and things went down hill. The wait for valet was ridiculous. Many people were waiting in the lobby, not just us, 30-45 minutes for valets to bring their car. But the wait was much longer for us because the valets LOST OUR CAR. We tried to get managers to come help two times but to no avail. I spoke to someone who said he was a manager but was extremely unhelpful and then went back inside. The valets kept running other cars and didn't want to stop and prioritize FINDING OUR CAR. Finally had to call the cops and they helped the valets prioritize the situation. It wasn't until the cops were called that a manager came out and said "this is the first I am hearing of this!" So beyond frustrating - ended up being a 2 1/2 hour ordeal.

Food is just ok,service was well the girl was nice looking but was clueless about customer servicewill not be back..Frankly any place that hires only women or men for certain positions does deserve my business.

Nicest looking sports bar in the north suburban area. Decent food and great looking staff. Very friendly too. I've come here to watch various sports games. Beware it can be very crowded/clubby on the weekends and parking can be tough.

Has curb appeal, that is what drew us in. Looks nice from the outside and nice on the inside as well. Plenty of seating options to choose from to suit your need. We went on a Wednesday night (8-10pm) and they had a live band (no cover). Sat outside on the patio. Service was good (hottie female referee theme). They stay open LATE. We split the chicken macho nachos. $10. And they were decent. I grabbed the Miller special at $3 and my lady held off on the girlie drinks in favor of dessert. Girlie drinks were $7-8. Wife got the chocolate chip bread pudding dessert and it was good. Our service person was also featured on the promo posters around the establishment. A little tiny thing with short blonde hair. Everyone I saw seemed to be enjoying themselves. Food I thought was average price. Beer price average. My wife seemed to enjoy the venue and aims to return. All in all we got out of there for $20 without the tip.

Well, it's not bad as for Nile's Sport Bar. I would say that during weekends it's more of a club than bar. I'm the biggest fan of such places, but my experience wasn't that bad. I was there on my friend's birthday, so yes we had fun, but I wouldn't go there for any other reason. Their drinks were very good and at reasonable prices. They also serve pretty good food if you will get hungry. The layout and the interior design are great. It creates very intimate atmosphere. Lots of European people, who are super nice. Music is not bad, but I would definitely reduce the amount of commercial music played. Maybe it was like that only on that night that I was there. Definitely too much of Rihanna and Lady Gaga vibe. Parking? HORRIBLE. They should definitely work something else out. Yeah, there is valet parking, but that's additional costs of course ...

HORRIBLE CUSTOMER SERVICE!!! Blonde manager is an inexperienced horrible person to represent this company. Our drinks were taken only half full while at the bathroom and NOTHING was done about it. Will never return.

I've only visited Playbook a few times and in those times I've had great service so far. On my last visit, my waitress, Olah, was attentive and very nice. If you do visit this bar, do yourself a favor and order the Kung Fu shrimp! One of the best that I've had. Definitely coming back to this bar in the future and recommending a few of my friends to visit. Also, thanks for keeping the place clean Playbook!

  • Connie B.

We live right down the street from Playbook. We have gone into the restaurant to eat and ordered out many, many times. The food is excellent. I have never had a bad meal and I have had many different things there. They are not overly expensive either. I am addicted to their skirt steak and their Kung fu shrimp. They have many different food items to choose from. There drinks are also very good. I have never had bad service. If you are over 30, i suggest not going there on a weekend, its more of a club scene and gets very crowded. I know because many of the people park on our block which pisses off all the neighbors when they are loud and stupid walking back and forth to their cars. The waitresses shorts are also too short and really, i would look better in those shorts than some of them. The bar and restaurant itself has a nice atmosphere and environment and if you love sports, this is the place to watch your favorite team. Could not give anything less than 5 stars cause never had a bad experience here.

Found this place on Yelp & stopped on by after a dinner date. It was a Sunday evening, big Bear's game & I thought....Oh, no. A "sports bar." Ugh. But it turned out to be a very cool place! I loved the modern, European look. Great lighting--perfect for a date. And yes, the Bears game was on, but it wasn't too loud & there were not any shouting fans (thank you, Jesus.) It reminded me of a bar in Amman, Jordan, so I liked that a number of young, hip Polish folks were there--it added to the European vibe. We had Bloody Marys & an order of calamari--both were great! Bloody Mary was perfectly spicy & practically had a salad on top (olives, celery, cheese, pepperoni, peppercini). The calamari was fried perfectly & it came with a slightly sweet marinara sauce on one side & some sort of creamy sauce of deliciousness on the other. The waitress was dressed in very short black shorts & a black tank top. I suppose it was supposed to be the sports bar attire, but it looked out of place & semi-inappropriate. Everyone else there was dressed nicely, so that was a little weird. And even though the service was pretty slow (she was the only waitress on the floor), she was super friendly. Great spot for a drink & some appetizers!

DA-BEARS! I actually went here when the Bears were playing that game where they went into overtime and lost the game.... yeah... so you know my day was already pretty shitty. What better to do than to have a beer-ski & some nom nomz So I come here with my booski and she tells me to get the mojito ( Girl knows her drank and foodz., so I listen). I ordered a mojito and and it lacked the "jito" part. It tasted like watered down, uncarbonated, rum with brown mint leaves. BOO BOO NUMBER 1! I then tell the server, who barely spoke English, but she tried & was totally nice about it. I got a Blue Moon instead, because you can't go wrong with a beer... I mean how can they screw that up right?! Now, for the food. We were not sure what to order so we looked to our server for advice. She recommends pasta, but can not find the pastas on the menu??? I point to them for her, trying to be my helpful-yelpful-self! However, she totally ignored me and continued to search for the pastas on the menu for a good two minutes. ..........awkward silence............ (shes still looking)......... my finger is still pointing to the pastas..................a minute later.......... OH,THERE THEY ARE! Gooooood..... good job girly! BOO BOO NUMBER 2: Employees who do not know the menu- its a bad sign. Now, for BOO BOO NUMBER 3! I get my food, they already f*cked up my draaaank so I am hoping the food will be solid. Nope! I spoke too soon. I ordered a Blackened Chicken Chipotle Wrap, which had WAY too much onions and spicy chipotle sauce. It was awful, too spicy to even eat. My Friend had the Angus Beef sliders and she only ordered them cause they had fried onions on them, but she never got fried onions on them, which was the whole reason she ordered them! The shoestring fries are really good and I can not vouch for the whole menu because I have only been here once, but it was just disappointing to say the least. Three stars: +the waitress... gosh she tried and I'll give it to her... +the fries were good! .... +and my Blue Moon was not tainted like my first drink. +It was also very clean in the restaurant which is a huge plus in my book. +tons of flat screens BUT... the bears broke my wittle heart and so did playbook =(

For a place near the NW suburbs this bar isn't that bad. I tried the hummus plate appetizer and it wasn't special but then again a hummus plate is hard thing to mess up. Also had the lobster mac and cheese and that was delicious. It had a spicy kick to it which I didn't expect! There was live music on the Sunday I went and the staff is attentive and friendly. A great chill place to go with a group of friends or on a date. Free valet too.

Playbook is awesome! I had my birthday party here as soon as they opened and took real good care of me. Since then this has been a nice hang out place after work. The staff is friendly and professional and the owners are great, they make sure their patrons are well taken care of. Definitely recommend this place for any occasion.

Aesthetically this place is very nice. It has a nice spacious and clean layout. There is a wide selection of liquor and the food is of the pretty typical bar variety. Price wise, it is a bit on the high side especially considering it is a sports bar. It's not a "Must do," but it is a nice option.

My family and I were in town from Colorado and we were looking for a place to get some food and watch the Avalanche game. A friend recommended the Play Book and we decided to try it out. The decor and ambiance was fantastic and the staff was absolutely wonderful. We had a group of 8 and they had many areas of the restaurant that were able to accommodate a large party which was very nice. We chose to sit in the side bar area and the manager happily found the Colorado Avalanche game and put it on the big tv for us and they even put the sound on for the game in our area! I loved the music as well, it was fun and upbeat and the entire place had an energetic feeling. Our server was friendly and patient since we were there for several hours and ordered slowly throughout the night. I disagree with some of the other reviews that say it was too expensive. I was actually pleasantly surprised at how affordable everything was. We had a variety of sliders and they were delicious and we had a sampler appetizer which, while all fried, was very flavorful, not just a variety of vehicles for eating sauces. I don't know a ton about Chicago but both the food and drinks were very reasonably priced for what I expect in Colorado. If you are looking for a fun place to eat, drink and watch sports this is an excellent choice.

Umm, so this place was interesting... I'm not Polish, so maybe that's why this wasn't my scene. I went here for a friend's birthday this past weekend, and there was little that left me impressed. First, get a bigger parking lot or pick up the pace with the valet! The damn car line was out into the street! I understand this place is about a year old, so maybe they're still figuring out a system. Next, the table had two small steps RIGHT in front of it, which I can only think were built there to be tripped upon. It was also awkward considering the dance floor was RIGHT there as well, so you can't really stand...but what if I don't want to sit?! Finally, the drinks were redonkulously expensive considering we weren't IN the city! My first drink was Patron w/pineapple, $10. Ok, understandable but still on the pricey end. My next (and final) drink was a Long Island which came to $9. That's just crazy because once again, NOT IN THE CITY! Overall, the place was beautiful and flowed pretty well. The people at this place weren't particularly kind, and I swear I've never seen so many people swing dance except at a country bar. Will I be back? Ehh, probably not.

Every weekend (Friday, Saturday, & Sunday) between noon and 8pm you can pick a Entree and Appetizer or Dessert for $10! Tons of items to choose from! I had the Skinny Mojito today and it was delicious and strong ;) I ordered it from their Summer Skinny Menu! The music is diverse and the atmosphere is very clubish, the bar has tons of seating.

This is a beautiful restaurant/bar right acros the street from the cemetary on Niles restaurant/banquet hall row. The staff is cute and nice. Whoever owns this place poured a TON of money into it. They didn't skimp on the decor one bit. The patio and bar areas are really swanky with tons of tv's. There's a table that has a pour your own beer station that electronically keeps track of what you've drank... pretty cool. Now on to the menu - IT'S REALLY CONFUSING and tries to be to cute with random sports names that don't flow well! My friend had the wrap and I had one of the burgers. I liked the burger with the weird name - my buddy wasn't a big fan of the wrap. We both agreed that the shoestring fries tasted rubbery and recycled. I hope this place is just going through some growing pains as they just opened.

I came here for a friend's birthday gathering over the weekend. The parking lot was full by the time we got there, but they offered complimentary valet so we took advantage of that. Being familiar with the types of establishments Niles has to offer, I was pleasantly surprised. I was surprised to see how upscale this place looked. I didn't try any of the food so I can't really comment on that. As far as the drinks go, they were priced so-so. Dos XX were the special for the night and they were $4. Martinis seemed to be the best value at just twice that price. Now for the downside... because the weather was pretty nice, they had the patio doors open to the rest of the bar. Unfortunately, there were a ton of smokers outside and the ventilation system didn't do too great of a job with getting rid of the smoke that came inside. I was surprised that the smoke smell was so strong, considering we were a good 20-25 feet away from the patio. I would probably come back, but probably during the colder months when they close the doors to the patio.

Been here a few times already for birthdays and just dinner & drinks. And everything has been consistently good. This past weekend I threw my husband a Surprise 30th birthday party and everything was great! They were very accommodating as I called to reserve a spot only 10 days before the event. Our party of about 20 had a great time and the food, drinks, and music were good.

As far as sports bars in the area go, Play Book just feels a little peppier, livelier and, well, sexier. Ania and Nikki were both awesome making sure our semi-rowdy group of Bears fans were never thirsty. The placement of TV screens were decent from our table which was not far from the central bar. It's a good place to have a few beverages and watch the game with the guys. I'll update this more next time I drop in.

Yep - 1 star. The place is nice and clean - Went couple times there - first time the food came undercooked. They fix that and apologized... but messed up the bill and forgot the to go order. The second time total disaster - the check was overcharged with few drinks. If you go there be aware of double charges.

If you're looking for a more upscale bar in the Niles area, then this is the place to go. Positives: Nice decor, lots of TVs, spacious, outdoor patio Downsides: The prices- I went on a Thursday, and the special was $4 you call its. Naturally, the drinks were watered down and served in small glasses. In general, I don't consider $4 you call its to be that great of a special anyway. The cheapest draft beer was $4. Also, the waitress was friendly and attentive, but she wasn't fully knowledgeable about the menu. She didn't know the details of the food special. I know the place recently opened, but she didn't even know the prices of the draft beer. Isn't that the most important thing a waitress at a bar should know? I'm kind of indifferent about the food. The mac n cheese bites appetizer was good, but they gave us 4 or 5 of them and the dish cost around $7-8. My boyfriend had the wings. He said they were good, but that he's had better. I had a veggie sandwich. It was good, but the fries weren't. The fries had too much seasoning on them (I think it was oregano). Bottom line: if you're looking for a more upscale place and are willing to pay above average prices for the area, then check this place out.

Bears vs Packers Thursday night football,...of course we had to go out and watch the game. Me and some friends decided to go out to Playbook Sports bar in Niles. The hostess immediately told us no tables were available and our only option was to sit outside. Another server, Ania, approached us and tried to find us a table. She was unable to find a table so sat us outside. She turned on the outside heater and said the next table available would be ours. Next thing you know, she moved a table from the outside inside so we could sit. I asked if she was our server and she said no, but if I wanted her to be, she would be. She went over our specials in detail and brought out our drinks quickly. She brought our food out quickly and gave us some of the best service I've ever seen. The server whose section it was, didn't mind, but simply helped and served us as well. Ania and Nikki were 2 of the best servers I've ever had in my entire life. We never waited for a drink or food. The table was cleared immediately and always kept clean. They both always stopped and enjoyed making conversation with us even though it was a busy night. At one point, Ania spilled some of my beer on me, but handled it great and bought us a round of shots because of it. If I owned a bar, I would do everything possible to have Ania and Nikki work there. Easily, some of the best service ever. I would go back to Playbook, just because of them. The food was good and the drinks were made perfectly. I highly recommend Playbook Sports bar...mainly because of Ania and Nikki...also helps that they are smoking hot.

I'm writing this review while preparing for my third trip to playbook. My first trip was nice when you walk and you immediately notice your in an upscale environment, the decor is amazing. The lighting offers a very comfortable ambiance. We had several people pain with both cash and credit card on a rather large bill, it kinda got messed up but a manager came over and fixed it rather quickly. As far as food goes I haven't eaten too much here I have had the opportunity to try to Buffalo wings at 50 cents each on certain nights and their steak quesadillas, the steak has great flavor!

This is a after work hang out for me and a few coworkers. This is a good bar to hang out at before the night time rush hits. Each time we have gone it has always been a good experience, with good food and drinks. Not to mention the bartender Amanda is awesome!!! She is there each time we have gone and has always been great with service and greets our group each time we are there. Not to mention she even remembers our orders and is pouring them before we even sit down. They have a good selection on tap, which are a bit higher than your typical miller and bud pours. Also, the food is very good and is a good deal when they have happy hour. I usually tell everyone to stop in here and give it a try. It's a clean, nice, and a bit up scale sports bar.

Had a party there for Halloween 50 people and let me tell you these people know how to take care of you. GREAT SERVICE, GREAT ATMOSPHERE, GREAT FOOD & GREAT DRINKS! what more can you ask for? We will be coming back with and having more partys there in the future! Thank you playbook for making our event a success! And thank you Maggie for making sure everyone had a drink at all times;)

Nice atmosphere, good service but the patio outside as great as it is needs to be non smoking because the law states that you have to be 15 feet from a window or entrance and all the patio tables are not. And everyone was smoking, out there.

Awesome decor, fun vibe, blows everythign else around it away. crazy amount of tv screens. best part is the huge patio... and that its open until 4 am.

You would not expect a place like this to be located in Niles. The interior is very trendy and nice, but you can still dress casually and people won't look at you funny. They have different specials on each day and they also have karaokee on Thursdays. I came here with a couple of my girls for some drinks and food. I ordered some kind of flatbread and a martini. They martinis are about $8 and it was pretty strong, just the way they should be. A regular mixed drink was about $5 or $6. My flatbread was good. It was cheesy and not burnt. One thing I liked was that they had the blackhawks game on with no "club or party" music in the background. Once the game was over a dj came on. Another thing that I found was unique they had a magician. Yes a magician! After about 4 drinks the magician came over to over table and started doing several magic tricks. Let me tell you I was amazed! This is a good spot to come with the girls or even friends. The prices are a little bit higher for any other bar in Niles, but the other bars don't look this nice.

If you are going for a Guinness forget it. I got 1 in a frosted glass, topped off on one pull. The last time I was there I waited 20 minutes for a beer and there were only about 10 people in the place. Poor service

Great place for the guys because there are TV's everywhere plus there is plenty of eye candy. It's nice for the girls as well because there is plenty of seating, great drinks (mojitos), and dance music after the games. The food is served in ample proportions. The pulled pork is good, Hangover sandwich good but unavoidably messy, chicken wrap delish and huge..but the shoestring fries are our biggest complaint. Seem to hold more grease, less fry. Oh well, the fewer carbs the better anyway! Management rocks and seem willing to attend to any complaints. If we were closer we'd stop by much more often.

Since this place is new I think it has a lot of potential. Unfortunately I know in the future it's gonna be one of "those places" but for now it's super new and super nice and the staff is pretty and friendly. They ARE a sports bar and lounge but they have a nice menu for the food, but my only disappointment was that their booze selection [on the menu] suuuckkkeeeddd for a sports bar! I will be going back probably some time soon because I did like the atmosphere but they need to get crack a' lackin' on those drink options! Lol. (Get me some mimosas and bellinis up in there :} )

I went here few months ago with my friends and ordered a Scotch, neat. We received our bill and I found out they charged me $2 extra for NOT putting ice in the drink. Yes, NOT putting ice in my drink. I asked why and they told me that I get more liquor without the ICE...what! I was too much in disbelieve to fight it. I don't know what kind of reasoning this is but I don't like to get nickeled and dimed. Especially, when every other bar I have been to has never done this before. I don't know why they would have this policy in place and aggravate their customers but I have never set foot at this bar again.

Great place and very close to home. Only reason I gave 4 stars is because they changed the rice that is now served with the tacos. I always order the talapia tacos, but won't now since they switched the rice. Please go back to the old rice which I think was like a jasmine or pilaf type. Otherwise great food, cold beer, good price and our waitress Danielle was excellent. We got great service and very friendly she even remembered us from previous times! This time I ordered the buffalo chicken wrap and it was delicious.

The best thing that Play Book Sports Bar has to offer is its ambiance. It's very well done in terms of its layout, lighting and overall design scheme. Has a very sexy, cool vibe about it. That's about where my compliments come to a grinding halt. I've made the pilgrimage here on two separate occasions, one purely to check it out because I'd heard a new sports bar/lounge in Niles (?!) opened up. I know, I was as shocked as you are. On my first visit, the group i was with had a pretty rollicking good time. It was karaoke night and we had a big group of co-workers... needless to say, things got crazy and we loved every minute of it. Food and drinks were good and were actually very reasonably priced, we were pleasantly surprised. It made us want to come back. On our second visit, however, things seemed... different. Maybe it was the crowd on that particular night. Maybe it was where we were seated. But mainly I think it had to do with the fact that the prices were jacked up SO significantly compared to our first outing here. We're talking double digit territory with some of the drink specials. Who are they kidding? Did Niles become some sort of high rent district overnight? I didn't get it. I don't know how they think they can gauge the consumer like that when just a few months prior, this was a fun, vibrant and affordable place to go and hang out with friends or co-workers for some drinks and a bit of bar fare. Also, our waitress claimed my Discover card wouldn't go through or wasn't accepted... which is interesting, because I used the same card to pay for my bill last time I was there. Funny how that works. Also, the parking situation is a NIGHTMARE. I literally had to MAKE my own spot behind my friends car next to the dumpster in back. Classy. If I remember correctly, there was a piece of vacant land next to the property. Perhaps it would behoove management to acquire that piece STAT. I'd hate to see the valet end up parking my car IN the dumpster based on lack of space... *facepalm* Oh well, I'd give 'em props for creativity.

Playbook is a perfectly fine sports bar. I didn't have anything to eat, but friends did and all the food looked good and nobody complained about anything. My drinks were good as well. My only point of contention was the valet parking. When I arrived there was a valet sign saying parking would cost $3:00, however the parkers insisted it was really 5:00. I refused and a friend called inside and was told there shouldn't be any valet parking at all, and I guess the guys didn't want to deal with me anymore because they finally waved be through. Then, upon leaving, friends who did pay were being charged another $5:00 to have their car retrieved! What a racket! The manager did finally run out and put a stop to it,

Service was good, food was good. The bathrooms here are really clean and so is the rest of the restaurant. Over all would return again. This place is good, nothing absolutely amazing but a lot of very good things with this place. Nothing at all bad. Came with a group of 5 people. Everyone liked the place.

Just ordered delivery from here for the 2nd time. Just like the first time everything was amazing. Two delivery guys showed up in a PLAYBOOK sprinter van with our $104. order. Again, everything was exactly as ordered. Food was hot and delicious. We got the Firehouse burger on pretzel bun, the all american burger, two orders of spinach dip, a couple different wraps, their delicious bruschetta, and the spicy crab mac and cheese-which was awesome. We will continue to order delivery from here. Timely and professional. Definitely recommend.

There is absolutely not one bad thing you can tell about this place. Play Book's location is very convenient for those living in the city as well those from the suburbs. The place looks stunning. Its modern decor, numerous TVs, comfortable seats and booths, two bars, a deck, and a patio make it an ultimate sports bar! The food is out of this world and no matter what you try - you will love it. Make sure to try the Kung Fu shrimp! Selection of beer is great. Drinks are awesome. Everything is reasonably priced. The most important thing about Play Book is that their staff is very nice and professional. Every time - a great time!

This is a great bar to watch your favorite sports games. They have a lot of tv's for watching. Plus they have food that's better than your average bar food. I love the shrimp wrap and the bloody mary (Hail Mary) is great tasting too with good condiments. I have to get there some time for their Bloody Mary bar. One thing I think they could change is the booty shorts on the waitresses. It's really not necessary and somewhat of a put off for your female patrons. I don't need to see my waitresses buns...

Staff is really nice and very attentive. Have been here multiple times and same good experiences. Food is very good for a sports bar especially steak tacos. Place gets packed at night on special sports events. Great place to hang out for both women and men. But theres some good scenery for the men :)

Keep up the good work and how about additional parking during the weekend ? ;)

Yep - 1 star. The place is nice and clean - Went couple times there - first time the food came undercooked. They fix that and apologized... but messed up the bill and forgot the to go order. The second time total disaster - the check was overcharged with few drinks. If you go there be aware of double charges.

Aesthetically this place is very nice. It has a nice spacious and clean layout. There is a wide selection of liquor and the food is of the pretty typical bar variety. Price wise, it is a bit on the high side especially considering it is a sports bar. It's not a "Must do," but it is a nice option.

Nice atmosphere, good service but the patio outside as great as it is needs to be non smoking because the law states that you have to be 15 feet from a window or entrance and all the patio tables are not. And everyone was smoking, out there.
