I'm in town for a Sullivan High reunion, and have not before been exposed to Villa. Monical's has always been a reliable area pizzeria, but I'm always seeking a local option, and so Villa it was. The pizza components ranged from good to extremely good, and the ones I considered merely good were matters of taste rather than of quality. For instance, the crust was thicker than I prefer, and there was considerably more cheese than I like. As for the latter, in particular, I could have fixed that with a simple "light cheese" request and, as both of these 'faults' may well be big plusses for someone else, these don't count against the quality. But on to the 'extremely good' category: they make their own sauce, and it shows. This is _not_ out-of-the-can stuff; the herbal flavor is noticeably different (in a very interesting and satisfying way) than any sauce I remember. If you're in Mattoon, give Villa a try!

Excellent Pizza and service. Im from out of town and ordered based on locals recommendations. The Villa special (supreme) was excellent. The delivery was fast and the employees I spoke to were friendly. Would definitely order again!

When I lived in Mattoon, this was probably my favorite restaurant. It was right down the road from my house. I especially liked what they had on the buffet, but I don't think I got to the buffet often, mostly when it was on the weekends, I guess. They also served Italian Beef on the buffet in addition to a wide variety of pizzas, pasta and sauces. Service was always attentive, and the pizza itself is one of my favorites, although for the reason why, I can't say. It just seemed really authentic when compared to a lot of the chain pizzas out there, but with even more "oomph".

Pizza couldn't of been better! I heard from others that this was one of the best places in town I can't disagree. We got a pepperoni pizza and it was ready as soon as we got there. I'm new in town so I haven't tried too many other places but its a keeper for sure. Cheers!

This place truly has great pizza...I would definitely recommend it! Please add more photos so Yelpers like myself will try this restaurant out.

Best pizza ever! Moved away from the area and this is one of the first places I go every single time I visit. I love that when I ask for light sauce, they actually do it! Crust is amazing, toppings are great, and it's just all around great pizza! Just finished a sausage, pepperoni, and extra cheese with light sauce and it was perfect!

For this time I wish I could give no stars!! Placed an order for carry out and arrived at the given time and was told that the pizza hadn't even been put in the oven yet!! Was told it wasn't my problem that they had gotten busier and after waiting at the restaurant for 30 min pizza still wasn't ready. Made no concessions and not apologetic at all for the wait or incorrect wait time given!!! Horrible customer service and extremely rude employees and management!!

Being a lifetime Toony, I loved the Villa Pizza of old, before aspirations of expansion and I am assuming more money. Product is inconsistent at best and what used to be tje best value in town is one of the more expensive choices. I have only been able to get a delivery in under an hour once since reopening and have had issues a few times trying to carry out instead. Sad.

I was raised on villa pizza. The villa special was a Friday night staple at the Fonner house when we were growing up in the 1980s and 90s. Still a favorite go to place every time we are back in Mattoon.

This is my favorite pizza place. Pizza by the slice for lunch is a great deal . Villa special is a hometown winner. I would highly recommend Villa pizza as your next pizza.

I haven't been a resident of Mattoon for long but everyone always asks, "Have you tried Villa Pizza yet?" I finally tried and it is amazing. I have had a variety of different pizzas and found each one extremely tasty. I also like the buy 10 pizzas, get the next one free. So now being a resident in Mattoon if people want pizza, I'll always suggest Villa Pizza.

Villa Pizza really is "as good as it gets!" This is great thin crust pizza. It's not New York style thin, and it's a little thicker than Monicals, but the crust is thinner than most. The sauce is their own special mix and is robust compared to most. The best part is they load-up the toppings and COVER it with cheese. I think the secret is it's baked in a very unique bread baker's oven. After the old place burned down it took some time to find the right oven, get a new place built, and to train the cooks. After being open for a good amount of time, the pizza is back to it's standard greatness. Anyone who grew up in Mattoon will come back to town just to get this pizza. It's unique and soooo good that people just crave it. When our old friends come in for a reunion, they always want Villa Pizza during the visit. They are open for lunch and serve carry-out slices during the lunch hours. They also have a good selection of baked sandwiches. And be sure to order a Big Tony! It's huge!

I have grown up on pizza, everyone knows Chicago makes the best pizza not New York. I had the chance to take some of this ZA down and it was pretty good better than the chain pizza. For mattoon this is as good as it gets, very cheesy and generous on the ingredients but it's cut new York style big fat slices.. To much cheese and the crust did not have the wow effect on the taste, it was like I made it at home fresh toppings n tons of cheese.

Villa has reopened and is still a good, if inconsistent pie. I do wish the sauce was a bit lighter. The stand up pepperoni pie is amazing, so if you've never had that, give it a go. Takeout and delivery only. No dine in service.

Best pizza in Mattoon, bar none. Their Villa special is great, The crust is just the way a hand made pizza should be. They burned down last year, but have re-opened for Carry-out and Delivery. They have plans to rebuild the dining room, can't wait for that.

Villa Pizza probably has the best pizza in town. I like the crust which is less doughy than Papa John's. We ordered anchovies and capicola on one side and mushroom with pepperoni on the other side with hot peppers all over. I never thought they would have capicola in a small town. See, you just never know.

I really would give it a 3 1/2. The pizza at Villa's is not the best in the world, but it is the best pizza in the Mattoon area. The crust is not like the overly doughy Papa John's pizza. I would compare it to Domino's dough. The price of the pizzas are decent and they have several different toppings. They also offer a salad bar and pastas, not only pizza. I would suggest visiting Villa's whenever your in Mattoon.

Good pizza and buffet, but they burned down last night. Owner has already said that they are going to rebuild.

This was a date night spot we went to. It was perfect for what you want in a small town pizza place. I got jalapeno and pineapple on my half. it was good. and the iced tea was not fountain there, which is a plus. It kind of reminded me of Pat's Pizza, in Ellsworth, ME. that is a good thing.
