Straight up diner! And among the three here in town, its the best of the class. I have been going here since I was an undergrad, and watched the owners kids grow up. Its a family owner joint and an institution here in Macomb. It's no small thing that a Hundred thousand parents have eaten here with their kids during visits and its still going strong. My last visit was extremely good. I came with my son, mother, and sister. We were seated quickly even though it was near packed, and they got drinks to our table fast. I ordered a skillet, with a side of pancakes, while my son ordered the kids funny-face pancakes and my mother and sister ordered the waffle with fruit. The order came out in about 10 minutes, which given the tempo in the place I was surprised. All of our meals were as expected and hot and fresh. The skillet was as expected and the pancakes were cooked the way I prefer them (if you ask they will cook to order). The waffles not only were as expected they looked appealing and I wished I had ordered one. Overall best in category, and a good value for visitors and townies alike.

Best family restaurant in Macomb! Service is great and so is the food! I love how they bring water to your table even before you ask! Nice family atmosphere, very clean, and kind staff.

Exactly the place you are looking for to soak up the alcohol you downed the night before. Greasy diner food served up by awesome servers. Their jokes pertaining to "floppy bacon" are priceless. I loved the giant omelets and hash browns. Made perfectly every time.

Had heard one good review for this place from a friend and decided to give it a try. Their review was basically, "Gyros were much better than I expected for Macomb." We went Sunday after an early church service. The place was hopping - with customers and young boys who were working. As for the other several servers that popped up at our table every 30 seconds, we weren't sure who our server was. The atmosphere is so-so. I will say it is well-lit. As for the food: the coffee was weak and did not taste good, but maybe I'm expecting too much from a diner. I got eggs, toast, and hash browns. The server didn't seem to know what sunny side up eggs were - "Do you mean runny," she asked. You should know this in a diner. The hash browns were not cooked, and they use some sort of fake butter spread on their toast. My boyfriend got the 4 deuces (2 pancakes, 2 eggs, 2 sausage, 2 bacon). He was not given syrup for his pancakes and was only served one tiny strip of bacon. I don't plan to go back anytime soon.

Service was awful. We waited 15 minutes and then had to ask for service. Waitress never came back except once to tell us our food was next. That was 45 minutes after our order was taken. After over an hour of waiting with no refills and no food we left. We will not ever be going back. If their food is as good as their service its not worth it

Pretty decent greasy spoon family diner. The portion sizes are quite generous, and it seems quite easy to customize your breakfast on the menu. While I bet that during the school year this place is hopping every weekend morning, I went recently while all the students were on Christmas break. Consequently it was dead and everyone there seemed a little low energy. I'm not frequently in Macomb but I'd be willing to eat here again if the opportunity presented itself.

Food just isn't as good as it used to be. Ok but has fallen off a bit...

Now, as restaurants go...4 stars is a bit high but I'm judging this compared to other diners. And as diners go, this is a good one. They have a wide menu selection, breakfast all day (which is LOVELY) and the decor is just something to experience. With a lot of blue, bordering on turquoise, some interesting light figures, neon lights on the ceiling and some decorations that make you smile and say, "why exactly...?" this place really hits the mark. After a night of drinking or if you're a student or family of a student attending WIU this is a place that will become a local staple. The food is good and they will accommodate those of us who like to go for the egg whites and cut down on the calories. Our server was down to earth, friendly and her timing was great. We never needed to hunt her down. I had the Western Omelet with some hash-browns and it really hit that brunch hunger spot! Whitney went old school with bacon, eggs and pancakes. Again, good and what one would expect from a diner. And of course, if you're in the mood to pack in some dessert, they have the rotating case of cakes and pies! Love it. Oh, one last thing...you may go into the restaurant and a young girl may come up to you. She's not lost...she actually works there! And she may be young but she acts like she's worked at the diner for 10 years. Such character!

Full menu for this family restaurant with reasonable prices. We tried a skillet, hamburger, and chicken sandwich. Food tasted average but we really liked their fries. The service was adequate.

Watch your charge receipt! Always ask for a copy & sign original. If you don't see original, expect them to add ANY amount to tip line.

The food is like your average diner food. The kids' portion could use an upgrade. The kids spaghetti is quite paltry. It is so small, and the sauce is so runny, not even any seasonings, and no garlic bread. Albeit, we have not been there in a few years, due to the decline in service and food, so maybe things have changed. The owner (an older man) is so kind- one of the reasons I had been going there over the last 15 years. His daughter on the other hand, who always seemed to be our waitress, rarely smiled. She is good and efficient, but just not a very warm person. Perhaps we were the unlucky ones to always catch her on her off days.

friendly service but my coffee arrived lukewarm, the siverware was dirty, and the food was much less than impressive. I know it was only a $7 meal, but it was not a very good experiebnce and I would urge people to spend their hard earned money elsewhere.
