Had breakfast on the way to church Sunday, it's right next to The Crossing. The atmosphere had nice old diner feel, the service was outstanding, the food was served quickly and it tasted great! The biscuits and gravy were homemade and the best I've had outside our home. It was simply a great experience. The fresh fruit was out of the can and a little disappointing, but overall, this wads five star breakfast!

Macom Family Diner was a reasonable diner. The food wasn't bad by any means, but it wasn't fantastic, either. I had a chicken fried steak and eggs. A tiny complaint I had is that, while the price was a bit high ($11), they didn't include any potatoes with the meal. Value wise, this place was on the lower end (most diners are notably cheaper and give larger portions). Many of the meals seemed like they did not include as many sides as other diners. The chicken fried steak and eggs were both pretty good. The gravy consistency was mediocre and the steak batter could have been seasoned a bit better. I subbed a pancake in exchange for toast and the pancake was reasonable (but nothing special). All in all, the service was ok (they are definitely understaffed- only one person working the floor during prime breakfast hours) and the food was so so. I think you could likely find a better diner in Macomb if you searched.

I was in town again for Mom's weekend and decided to comeback for breakfast. The food was excellent, the service was incredibly nice and Melissa was amazing and very helpful. Oh and I loved the rice krispi treats. They may have just had an off day the last time I visited in the review below and i'm glad we gave them another chance.

Cute place! You get lots of food when you buy one of the dinners. I got the shrimp basket which came with soup and crackers, corn, popcorn shrimp and fries. Food was hot and pretty good. Not the best I've ever had but definitely not bad by any means. Love the environment too!!

Four of us stopped in for breakfast on our way home from WIU homecoming. We were looking for a diner for breakfast and we were all glad we stopped here. By the time we left, there was a line out the door to get in. Good food and good prices.

My wife and I went to this place twice, first time for dinner, the food was hot but not seasoned at all..next time we went was for breakfast and I order the hash and I got a hair with it...and what really put me off was not the hair, it was the attitude the waitress had about the situation..she could have cared less...so needless to say, we will not be returning!!

What can I say. This is possibly the coolest family restaurant in Macomb. Melissa and her husband who are the owners , he is the head chef, are great people and really strive to satisfy their customers. The food is always fresh and always satisfying. The most recent visit on a Saturday for lunch was a surprise. There were only two empty tables. To me a good sign that a restaurant is good is that you may have to wait at least a few minutes for a seat. Wishing you all the success Melissa, keep taking care of your customers and they will keep coming back for more.
