Why I love Evviva's Pizza but dislike the atmosphere. Evviva's pizza is my go to pizza for a few reasons: 1.) I live very close. 2.) My wife is Gluten-Free and their GF Hawaiian Pizza is down right delicious. 3.) Best thin crust pizza due to their cheese choice and plentiful toppings. Evviva's Atmosphere is similar to a frat bar with 40 year olds in it, instead of college students. I'm 27 and hate how the patrons of this Eatery act. Not very friendly. Overall, stay for the pizza and leave for the snobby a-holes.

Worst experience ever, I ordered a panini on my pickle there was a small dead cockroach. When I called the waitress she went to tell the manager who suggested she bring me another one. How dare they assume I want to eat anything else from that filthy place. I'm disgusted.

If you're on a BNSF train crawl, make this one of your stops! It's small, but great. It does tend to be crowded, but if you look around enough, you can find a spot. They mix their drinks well, and have GREAT pizza. I hear the other food is good as well, but have only tried the pizza. Bathrooms are in the back corner, which is a far trek when its so crowded. Also, service can get a little slow/snippy if you're not all ready when they come by. Place is right off the train stop, can see the tracks from the front door. Will be back soon! :)

I passed this place on my birthday thinking it was too expensive. I was wrong in the best possible way. Perfectly divey on the inside, this bar/restaurant has wonderful specials (at least during the day) and delicious food. My seafood loving friend said it was a unique grilled calamari that happened to be the best calamari she's ever had. It even looked good to me, and that stuff disgusts me. 50% off every food item in the menu! If that doesn't get you in, maybe the $2 drafts will. P.S. the parking lot is stupid.

Went on a little bar crawl of lisle and came here last weekend. Decent place, patio is good for people watching, pizza was also very good. The only gripe I have was the bartender, she was not friendly at all, very short with us and then spent a majority of the time sitting at the bar, looked like she was talking to regulars, and eating in between making drinks. If I were to go back, I would sit at a table to avoid her or go back after she has the baby.

Love the food , drinks and service at Evviva! Best pizza around and newer menu has many good dishes. Lisa, or favorite server, is always so friendly . Super fun place on the weekends or any night of the week

I want to like this place... but after trying it 5 x or so, I just don't think I can. I want to say "it's me, not them", but I think it's them. Now don't get me wrong, lunch is 50% off, for that price I can occasionally deal with the slow SLOW service and indifferent attitudes of the staff. But anything other than lunch, it's not a good experience at full price. An typical example would be last night, I seat myself outside and sit 15 min before the staff notices I'm there. The waitress acted as if she had never heard of the beer I ordered, even though it was on the menu. She even brought me the bottle and asked me if it was the right one. I guess no one has ever pronounced "Hacker Pschorr weiss" properly in this bar so the staff doesn't know that's the beer I want. We ordered the thin crust tomato cheese pizza... it was... bad... no flavor at all. After raiding their cart of spices, we made it edible by dousing it in Olive oil and pepper. The cheese on the pizza had no pieces of spice anywhere. for 20 bucks, I really was expecting tasty pizza, but no. In the middle of dinner, workers decided to start drilling into the building. They were putting up 4 TVs. Why can't this wait till you don't have 10 + people on your patio? In general, the parking is a PITA, the service slow and indifferent, the food just ok. And it's noisy than a coffee can of angry hornets inside in the bar. With the occasional train and now the TVs outside, the hornets will now be outside too. I recommend you take a pass.

Evviva is a super small bar, that is crowded every weekend with good reason. First of all, the food is great. I've been here on numerous occasions and have always enjoyed it. The panini's are some of the best I've had, and the pizza is equally as delicious. They also have great drink specials, and fun events several times a month. If you're looking for a faux-dive bar, this is the place. It feels secluded but it's really not. The location to the train does make it a popular spot for train crawls. I have had sub-par service in several times I've been here, but that's to be expected.

It's so tough to decide on how many stars to give this place. It's a fun place, right by the train station. We always go here with friends for a beer or some food. The pizza is to die for, and the vodka pasta is one of the best i've EVER had. They always have fantastic food and beer specials, the atmosphere is warm... i could go on and on.. Rob, the manager (owner?) really cares about how the food and drink go out to tables, and you can always find him there at night. There are a LOT of TV's here which is great to watch games and they're really good about changing them for you. They have recently updated their taps and have a lot of craft beer to choose from, including one of my favorites, Purple Haze. The wine list they have is actually pretty good for a "hole in the wall." They have a lot of different events including the block party which is a lot of fun, but it's crawling with people... i would totally suggest going to anyone! Here's my issue. A lot of the girls there... are not great. It's a seat yourself atmosphere, and sometimes seat yourself is a gamble. You can be sitting there for a few minutes before anyone comes over (busy or not). More often than not, you're sitting with an empty beer before they even come back to see if you want another one. The bartenders are extremely self-absorbed, but AWESOME at what they do. It's hard when their boyfriends / regulars are sitting at the bar to get any sort of attention. It has gotten better over the years, and i think the service will get there eventually, i just wish it got here now :) Go here if you want some awesome comfort food and a good atmosphere!

I love this place but the last time I went there I was a little unhappy with our experience. The server and bus boy were excellent but the bartender wasn't so nice. It's a little embarrassing when your friends drive a distance to meet you there and the place tries to kick you out way before they close because the want to go home. I had this happen a couple times but this was the worst one. It was a Sunday and they were open till 1 am. I get it if it's empty and the staff wants to go home but you shouldn't make paying customers feel rushed and give them attitude. It was like 10:30 pm and I could tell they wanted to leave. All the chairs were stacked up on the tables and instead of coming over to us and saying "hey we will probably close early so whenever you finish we will close down" the bartender shouts at us and says " ok time to go...get out." And I looked at my friend in disbelief. Like you aren't going to thank us for our business but instead say get out! Honestly we probably would have left on our own within 5 minutes because there were a few people who just left and it was obvious they wanted to leave. But to shout at us was not only unprofessional but rude. Maybe they should change their hours. Just a thought!

Evviva rates very highly with me ,their service, atmosphere ,and value are second to none.My wife and I frequent them on "half price pizza Monday" and often for lunch durring the work week. This is a great place for taking a client on a business lunch. The italian entrees are large enough to feed two,and I am especialy fond of the chicken marsala.

Perfectly located in downtown Lisle, this sports bar fits the bill as a beer and burger joint or a beer and pizza place. Pizza is piping hot and very tasty. Crust is a thick version of thin crust. Our only negative is that it is very noisy.

Great when it isn't crowded...slow when they get packed...noisr level of a normal bar...GREAT summer block parties...pizza is really good...if you get the extra thin crust...

I have visited this eatery a number of times, and it's normally been a good experience. The pizza and cocktails are great. However, the place is dingy and I was once given a dirty plate. I mean, I'm talking about a plate someone just ate off, with food bits on it. That was gross enough to make me not rush back to this place. Also, be warned the music is extremely loud in here. It doesn't matter when you visit; that's just how it is. You cannot have a conversation in this place. It's a fun environment, if you like the loud modern music. I suppose I do recommend a visit--if you don't mind the grimy atmosphere. The food is quite good.

so my first thoughts of this place from the outside was a bar. inside i found a unique hidden treasure. i do not drink but i stopped in for a dinner tonight and tried their burger. It was a very burger. the waitress was attentive and polite and the locals were great. not a load place and perfect for a quick bite to eat with someone. I can actually talk without yelling. awesome sport package to with multiple games on at once. I don't know how to spell the waitress's name it was amazing.

If this place ever has some kind of contest just know its a ploy to get you in the door. This weekend they had a cowgirl contest and you could win a $250 cash prize. So, my sister and I grabbed our cowgirl hats and got ready for some line dancing. We heard this place was a cougar bar and figured we'd have it in the bag (which we would've if they ever bothered to do the contest!). When my sister called the place to make sure it was happening, the guy on the phone said it would be from 7:00-8:00pm. Great. At about 8:30pm we asked our waitress (some lady who was too eager to get the bill jacked up. she must've asked us 10 times in 12 minutes if she could get us anything else) when the contest was. About thirty minutes later she said she'd ask the manager. Meanwhile, sister and I learned some line dances which were easy and fun but we were like 2 of 5 on the dance floor so that made it pretty lame. Then, at around 10:00 our server said the contest is happening at 10:30. Fast forward an hour later, still no contest. They advertised 8:00pm an event would happen and over 3 and a half hours later it had not. Lame and aging crowd, b.s. promises from the establishment, over priced drinks, and an over eager wait staff make me never want to set foot into this place again.

We recently called Evviva's to cater a luncheon we held for the holidays. Even though they would need to open early and it was for a smaller order, Joe and his team helped us without even thinking. The food was delicious, delivered on time, and it was a great event. We really appreciate Evvivas and would definitely recommend it! Thanks!

Evviva is definitely your typical corner pub with a "Cheers" like feel to it. The menu has it's high points and mediocre areas. If you aren't there for the special of the night (ex: pizza, burgers,or apps) ask a server for some recommendations. They seem to know the menu very well and even recommend you to try things you wouldn't normally in a bar (baked clams or calamari- my fav!) Back to the atmosphere, this place can be an extremely busy-happening place or other nights it can be your quiet local pub. It does get loud at night, but remember it is a BAR. The staff for the most part are nice girls and usually do a great job and seem to know a lot of the regulars. (Which to me is a good sign). I've been here a handful of times and my server remembered my drink order. If you've had a bad experience, give this place another chance. May have just been a fluke!

We also saw this place on Chicago's Best. The thin crust pizza was good with plenty of cheese. The atmosphere and music was upbeat and our server Tabatha was great. They have plenty of TV's and positioned well around the tables. It would be great if they could add some portabellas and kalamata olives to the mix. In any case, we will be back next time we are in the area.

After wandering around the DT Lisle Farmers Market, my boyfriend and I stumbled upon this little gem. We stopped in for some lunch and beers and found ourselves staying much longer than anticipated. It reminds me of Cheers, "Where everyone knows your name". Our bartender/server, Stacy, was so attentive and nice. She was so helpful recommending items on the menu. I really appreciate it when servers can honestly tell me which items are good, and which items are not preferred. Sure seems like a neighborhood bar - but not the kind that is unwelcoming. Everyone here was really really nice and fun to talk to. We will definitely be back to try more on their menu. Also - prices are very, very reasonable. Solid find.

My wife and I wanted to eat out, but couldn't find anywhere on Rt 59 that was good, but didn't have an hour wait. We decided to drive over to Lisle and I'm glad we did. I wanted gluten-free, and they have a pizza that fit the bill. It was a thin crust, and the topping (chicken & BBQ sauce) were fabulous. And the wings are pretty good, too.

I enjoy Evviva! It's a fun bar that's lively and a good time. They have a great selection of beer and the waitresses come by frequently to make sure all is ok. Their pizza is awesome!! The rest of the food isn't anything special, though. I have spent many evenings at Evviva and it's definitely the nicest place in lisle to get a drink and relax.

Evviva might have fixed their service problems. We arrived about 5:30 on a Friday. The place was almost full. We were greeted within seconds of walking in. We picked a table and a minute or two later, Maria was there to take our order. We started with the much hyped wings. They were good. Crunchy skin and moist on the inside. We got the "mild" which had the right amount of heat for us. We followed this with a burger, well done, and the combo sandwich. The burger was cook properly but not dried out. The combo was OK. The fries were average. While we sat there I looked around the room. I noticed that, not counting staff and my wife, there were only three other women in the place. And as someone else has said it is LOUD in there. Bottom line: Average food, good service. Give it a try when you are in the mood for a bar atmosphere.

I honestly don't know how anybody rates this place over a 2. The staff sucks. They take forever. They mess up orders all the time. The owner hires a bunch of decent looking girls that have never served before. The food is awful. You don't go here for food anyway. You go to watch a game and have a miller lite. They don't serve much else in the way of beer. I rate this a 2 because they have tvs that play bears games and beer.

  • Nicole S.

Smells like vomit. Dirtier than any bar I've been too, including hole in the walls. Bartenders are lazy and will sit and chat for a good 10 minutes before even coming up to you. Then they will take your order, continue to chat and give you your drink 5 minutes later. Don't come here....maybe if they hire a new staff I'll come back.

  • Bill G.

I don't know why they have a juke box. When I was there, the bar was close to empty, I put $5 in the juke box and heard none of my songs ( I was there for 2 and a half hours). I talked to someone else who tried the same thing and they didn't hear any of their songs either. When I asked the bartender if the juke box worked she said "yes, there's nothing wrong with it". I explained what was happening but she didn't seem to care. Evviva, If you don't want your customers to pick the music, then turn the machine off, put up a sign or give us our money back.

  • Myles I.

I only come for half price burgers but I really enjoy it here. Staff is friendly and welcoming and don't mind if I stay for a while watching a bulls game even with just one drink. The burgers are the pretty standard but they're consistent and worth the price (even at full price I would say). They also don't mind when I ask to add jalapeños and they don't usually charge extra. All in all I like coming here with a buddy and catching up. Its rarely packed on weekdays so its a nice place to relax.

My friends live in the area and decided to stop by for dinner. Early dinner on a Sunday night, they had a decent crowd but it wasn't busy. Our server Lydia didn't seem to keen on us being indecisive about what we wanted in our first 5 minutes of sitting down. She frequented the table enough but the service wasn't on point and below basic standards. Firstly, she brought out everyone's order but the wings I ordered and walked away without mentioning anything. When we asked about them she said they didn't have enough clean dishes. I don't understand what kind of excuse that is but my wings came out 15 minutes later with no apologies and I had to eat while my friends were done eating. Then, to top it off she brings the check and we have to ask 3 times to bring out a to-go container for the wings that I obviously didn't really want to pay for. Overall, the food was ok. Nothing special, if we had better service or at least a smile. Maybe I wouldn't mind coming back. Sorry but I'll take my business to Shanahan's. At least they can get my order out on time and the crowd and servers are much friendlier.

Our first experience was great! 1/2 price apps, 2$miller lights, 9$ 25oz bloody Mary's and 7$ each refill Every Sunday. Our server Tattiana was very personable and kept up with all our drink refill! We will deff be coming back :)

food is mediocre/2.5 star, BUT the food-to-price ratio is out of this world for their 50% off everything lunch time special is amazing. That, alone, warrants it a 4 star. I would not go there for dinner time though. This place tasted like a poor version of TGI friday.. and no, that's not a good thing.

Okay so wanted to try a new place close to home but was really disappointed from this place. Went around 2 in the afternoon for some lunch and had to wait twenty minutes just to get a menu, waited another ten minutes to place an order, but left because the waitress never came back. What a shame....

I used to really like Evviva, especially back when it was Pazzo's. The pizza used to be so good, but the last couple times I ate there, it's not the same. The crust was somewhat dry, and everything else was just so-so. But my biggest complaint is that they can't seem to get the half and half ingredients right. It's not rocket science, but twice now I've gotten a pizza that was supposed to have different halves, and the ingredients were all over the place. The last time it happened, I complained, and they took a whopping $2 off my bill! I'm about ready to scratch this place off my list, which is too bad, because the atmosphere is great and they have decent drink specials.

Delicious 1/2 price pizza on our Monday visit, a tasty punch and Absolute for $4! We came in early and had friendly and efficient service. Kind of a comfortable, old school country dive bar atmosphere.

  • Eileen K.

Very, very good food. I had the pomodoro chicken sandwich which was excellent. My husband had the eggplant parm sandwich which he said was very good. The staff were pleasant. The atmosphere was unpretentious. The only reason it only gets 4 stars is the seating wasn't great. Our table was too big for the space. You could not get around or barely sit on one side. Most of the tables were bar height which is not great for young children. We'll be back.

  • Trista T.

Based on drink specials and atmosphere this place was A ok, that is until the bartender opened her mouth. I happened to be in on a very busy night which you think would be exciting cause hey, you have a lot of opportunity to earn tips. These girls were pissed and annoyed people were actually here to spend their money. As a bartender you should know that even if you are annoyed at how hopping your bar is, you put on a smile and serve your guests. Let me remind you, good service to a crowd means big tips. One girl actually walked by and loudly said to the other girl "shoot me now". They were texting on their phones, only being kind to their regulars, and actually scolded someone at the bar who was just anxious to get a drink. I mean, he had been waiting quite a while. Worst service I have ever had at a bar. You are in the service industry ladies, put on that fake smile and do the job you are being paid to do. To end on a good note, I loved the this place had a bags set. It's the little things :)

    (2)
  • Michele S.

I came here with friends for lunch. One huge plus...all lunch items are half price every day. I got an enormous buffalo chicken sandwich with fries and a coke for $8.00. That $8.00 included a $2 tip! The food was pretty darn good, I must say. There are a couple of downsides to this place. One is, the parking is a nightmare. The other is, don't go here if you are limited on time. Service is extremely slow. We were just lucky that our boss was out of town and we didn't have to be back so soon.

  • Candice G.

Holy Cleavage, Yelpman! Yep, you heard right. The boobage here is off the charts. I guess that's great if you want to see some bewbies but don't want to tell your significant other that you went to a more blatantly named restaurant, like say 'Hooters' or 'Jubblies' (hypothetical), but I don't know. It made even this former queen of inappropriate cleavage a little uncomfortable for them. But hey, if you feel good about yourself and your boss is okay with it- get that money, gurl. Speaking of jugs, they're one of the few places in the area that offer mixed drinks in fish bowl sized jugs. I, personally, am not a fan because I don't have health insurance and I'd rather not get sick from sharing some super sugary novelty drink but the place was packed so obvi there's a market there for it. It would've been nice to see some better quality beer but judging from the large crowd on this particular night, they're doing alright with what they've got. All in all, it wasn't my kind of place but it seemed like it was a hit among the college aged crowd so I'll let the kiddos have this one.

Yep, the service is not so good. We arrived towards the end of lunch. Someone cleared an empty table for us and we sat down. It was almost 10 minutes before anyone realized we hadn't been helped. We ordered our drinks and they were delivered fairly quickly. However, the soda my friend got was flat. When she mentioned it to the server she said that she had noticed that it looked flat. So you brought it anyway? Awesome. She also had to ask twice for water. Two of us were craving pizzas so we asked how long the individual pizzas took to cook and were told about 15-20 minutes. Ok, so we ordered. About 30 minutes later the server came and told us that there had been a problem with one of them and they'd be up in 5 minutes. 17 minutes later they finally came out. This is my lunch break, I don't have all damn day. The pizza was pretty decent, lots of toppings, too much cheese for my taste. Since we were running so late now, my friend said we were going to need the check soon even though we were only halfway done eating. One could infer that maybe we were in a hurry? The server brought it pretty quickly, we put the credit card in the folder and set it back on the table. The server walked past several times with out looking at it, then vanished into he kitchen. We didn't have cash so we had no choice but to sit there. The only saving grace is that they do half price lunches. So two soft drinks, one appetizer, three lunch entrees only came to $18. But it took an hour and a half which is ridiculous. They also don't have their own parking which can be a real pain. We might go back occasionally, but most likely not for lunch and definitely not when we're in a hurry.

Great place and always busy. Pizza is awesome and so is most of the food. Calamari is top-notch for a bar. The food is not your typical bar food either! Half-price lunches, ummm YES! Great drink specials, the staff is very energetic. They put on some of the best local parties as well. Fun weekly entertainment and an overall great experience.

Had a groupon for this place and came on a Saturday evening. It was packed, there's no one greeting anyone at the front so my boyfriend and I were confused as to if it was seat yourself or if we had to wait for someone. When we got to the table we had a chair missing...and it took a while to find one. Waitresses ddint' come around often enough...we were left waiting. Food was decent. Not horrible but not great. Thats the only thing really going for them....

I know that bars aren't known for their food, but they have the best burger I've ever eaten. Don't ask me why, I couldn't tell you. It just has really good flavor. I also hear good things about their pizza. Nice people reasonable prices Great place to hang out in the neighborhood.

Decent food and atmosphere. Waitstaff could be better. Picked up an order there, got it to my car and realized my salad was missing. When I explained it to the bar tender she more or less accused me of stealing it before she went back to the kitchen where she found it waiting there. Also, cops are in there a lot, just standing in the back watching everyone. Thought I was in Naperville for a minute.

This review is based on two visits and in both cases the experience was absolutely the same. This would be a fair to good bar if the gals tending the bar were all sat down by management and informed that their prime responsibility was to wait on customers rather than fluff their hair, text on their phones, pose for photos and other personal activities that have nothing to do with waiting on customers. It's a good thing that they have TV's with sports on because odds are you are going to be waiting a lot. If i should happen to go back-i'll check the menu on their website so i can avoid having to ask for a menu and then waiting again. I felt their food is better than average with a good menu of choices, drink specials are good and the pour on mixed drinks is on the generous side. @Candice- I am wagering that the melons on display are store bought rather than home grown; It sort of ruins the experience for me. What say you?

This place has some great Pizza, for Lisle, that is ;) I have no complaints about this place, even when the service is less than average because it's so good, close by, and I keep coming back. Once in a while they have theme nights, or live music...it's not overly crowded after work as it's near the metra and also has outdoor/indoor seating. One of our last visits there we got a coupon from Matt (one of the Managers) for a free pizza on our next visit as we informed him of what good service we got from the bus boy. Our waitress took our order and was never heard from again...apparently she had a family emergency and left so the bus boy took over but even he gave us great service. If you aren't coming for the nacho fries and pizza...try the punch, it's a chalis for about $12 but it's sooooo worth it!

  • Lydia Z.

We have been back here a half dozen times or so since my last review so i thought i would give a little up-y date-y. I have only been there for lunch and today we went again. They have half price lunches and that is a sweeeet deal! However, the service is usually below average. They are nice but dont plan on getting any drink refills anytime soon. We know one of the servers and she always takes good care of us...thats good, but she doesnt work lunches very often...thats bad. The burger and fries is good. The buffalo chicken salad is also quite tasty, but spicy so beware. Pizza is average. Not open for lunch on monday. The half price lunch is only on the food, not drinks (even soda). Dont plan on a quick lunch there...be prepared to wait. It can be crowded during lunch too and it becomes loud...just sayin.

We used a restaurant.com certificate to check this place out. We did not have any drinks, just food. The food was quite good - a hearty and large chicken tuscan panini for $7, and a piping hot and cheesy traditional medium sausage and mushroom pizza for $14.50. Pizza took about 30 minutes. It looks to be a nice place to have a beer and some pub food, or to watch a ball game. May be back for such someday. It's right across the street from the Lisle train station. Server was friendly and attentive, and I'm not sure she was typical of what was coincidentally and recently observed by Candice(!).

I live in Chicago where we have some of the best pizza! But, there pizza is NO.1......Super crisp crust and not stingy on the cheese and sausage. I can't wait to try the pizza with everything........Great job! Well worth the drive.....

We went to the Block Party that Evviva put on last night and decided to have dinner inside Evviva before we listened to the live music. BAD IDEA! This place was a HOT mess. Here is the thing I don't understand.....As management, wouldn't you want to make sure you had your best foot forward before throwing a Block Party for hundreds of potential new customers? Took OVER two hours to get an appetizer, entrees, and check as the place was an unorganized ZOO. Service was terrible, Food was awful and overall one of the worst food experiences of recent memory. The ONLY reason I am giving Evviva two stars is because they had great free bands outside playing all night.

Its been awhile since we ate at Evviva. My husband has been craving their pizza (which is Amazing) I was prepared to wait along time for our food because of the previous reviews and we were there during dinner time. However, we had no service issues and everything was served promptly and accurately. Lisa was our waitress and she was great. The pizza as always was delicious!

Food was pretty good and the prices are low. Service was terrible. We sat at the bar and the bartender was very loud and obnoxious. She answered her cell phone and would pretend she didn't hear us when we would attempt to get her attention. I guess we were bothering her while she spoke to her regulars. Won't be back.

As soon as you walk into Evviva, you get the impression that the place is really more about the drinks and their resident "divas" than the food, which is fine. The good news is that the food is really solid also. I snagged a Groupon for $30 worth of food for $15, which my boyfriend and I used last night. We enjoyed a pitcher of Blue Moon beer and a large pizza for $30, which I thought was fair. The pizza was delicious and I really loved their wide selection of toppings, which ranged from artichokes to zucchini. Our server was really friendly also and stopped by often to see how we were doing. We went around 6 p.m. on a Saturday and it was quiet, though it was filling up quickly by the time we left. I've been there before on a Friday night and been unable to find a seat (granted, a Blackhawks game was on) so I think we'll make it a point to go on nights when there aren't big sporting events on. Wow, I sound old.

Awesome weekday lunch specials. Went with the wife and kids and ordered four entrees, when the bill came I was sure there was an error (it was under $20 for four) I asked the waitress if the bill was ok and she assured me it was and explained their weekday specials. A most go for good food and great value.

Just a disclaimer - this review is not based on food at all. We did not get a chance to eat. I arrived on a Friday night at about 7 PM and the place was pretty full. We wanted to eat dinner and looked right away for a table. There isn't a host station or anything. I looked to my left and noticed a small group of people leaving and went to sit in their table when the bar manager approached me and told me I couldn't sit there because he was expecting a party. He next told me that I was number one on the list and woud be seated the next time a table opened. He offered to buy us a drink at the bar, so we went to the bar and waited. After about 20 minutes, another table opened up. I was at the table about half a second after the people got up and went to sit down when the bar manager again approached me and said I couldn't sit there (entirely different area than the first table). He explained that there was another couple that was in front of us and gave them the table. I honestly don't know whether they arrived before us or after us, but regardless the guy told me I was number one in line. We returned to the bar and it didn't look like anyone was going to leave anytime soon and I wasn't sure I'd even get the table. We left about 5 minutes after the second table was denied. I won't be returning. If you go, be prepared for a definite bar environment. Don't expect to sit down right away and do not expect any order involved in the seating.

A Groupon and a gorgeous afternooon drew my mom and I to the restaurant. My mom is very keen on outdoor seating so this was the perfect place for it. The beautiful day and fresh air was quickly smothered by the toxic substances fuming out of the nostrils and lungs of the 6 smokers surrounding us on 3 sides. My first reaction was "is this legal?" and after noticing the ash trays on all the tables assumed it must be. As a non-smoker (obviously), I will not be heading back to this restaurant for the outdoor seating. However, if you are a smoker and feel the need to contaminate your bronchi and those around you head over to Evviva on a nice day. Come early. Outdoor seating fills up quickly. My mom and I started with a spinach artichoke dip. The dip was a big glob of melted cheese that was near impossible to scoop up on a chip en route to my mouth. Dip was not the best. Skip it. As an entree, I ordered a Hawaiin pizza. The crust was too thick for my liking and way too much cheese. My mom seemed to enjoy her buffalo chicken salad. As a whole, I would not reccomend eating here but the bar seemed to be lively even for a a weekday evening.

Servers are very nice and outdoor seating is excellent, but that is pretty much all this place has going for it. The bartenders are TERRIBLE and do not know how to mix drinks. Every drink our party ordered was poorly mixed, tasted wrong/stale or they did not know how to make it. Food was very overpriced and average at best. No amount of red pepper flakes and parmesan cheese could save the blandness that was the fettuccine alfredo. At least the noodles were cooked properly. No one in our party was pleased with their food and most everyone agreed that it was "fine" or "average at best." I guess that last line sums it up- average at best. If you are in the culinary desert that is Lisle do yourself a favor and drive past and go 15 minutes farther west to Naperville.

We live very close. Like down the street close. So we happen to order from Evviva a good amount. I haven't been inside the actual restaurant but always ordered through carry out. Great pizza, even better sandwiches. One Friday night my good friend was visiting and we ordered our usual items and she was hooked as well. She now drives from the north side of Downers Grove to Evviva for pizza! I have only been disappointed here once or twice but nothing enough for me to give a bad review. Keep it up.

I was impressed by this place last night. Coming from Naperville, a $7 pitcher deal got me a little excited, and then a half off burger deal got me going a little more. Add a white sox win on most of the tvs in the place and my pants got a little tighter. Anyway, the service at this place was good, I don't know what people are complaining about. It wasn't slammed (on a Wednesday night), but our server, Valerie, was very nice. And the manager, Anthony, even came by and chatted us up a bit. The burger I got was good enough to make me want to come back for another. All around, a good experience. Minus one star for the parking situation - it's nightmarish at best.

Quote of the Day: "Holy Cleavage, Yelpman!" - Candice G. review That's right, Candice G. Hey now! I felt like I was in a Seinfeld episode or something. Evviva is a nice, regular sports bar. They got beers and burgers and TV's and all the regular goodies. 3 star sports bar + the generous (cough) servers = 4 bill-stars. he he... yow, bill

Like another yelper said it is like Cheers. Very good bar food and dinner menu. Not the cleanest place around, but it took me back to the days of the corner bar. Sports talk, politics, food and beer set the tone. Lunches are 1/2 priced, but I go for their great burgers, pizza and salads. The calamari is great. VERY LOUD. We had a new waitress and sadly,I don't think she will make. I asked for a soda refill and she walked to 3 tables with it under her arm, near her arm pit. Then refilled it the same glass. Sent that 1 back. Very young girl,so she was over whelmed as it was packed at lunch because of 1/2 price deal. Hey guys, remember, tip off the amount the bill would have been if they did not discount. These ladies work very hard to make their coin and serve you. I will be back, been going for 3 years. Great people.

Had drinks there on a Saturday night during the fall so it was pretty packed. Margarita was enormous and cheap but slightly on the sweet side. Some liquor company was promoting that night so our table got a few rounds of free shots that night. Bonus star. Take out from Evviva is pretty solid. Chicken parmesan came with pasta, french bread, and the soup de jour. The portion was so big half was saved for next day's lunch. My personal favorite though is the Evviva salad. Fresh greens, lots of meats, and just the right amount of dressing. Prices are fair so I'll be ordering take out again and visiting to dine in once the patio open up in the spring.

All the apps are good, and the french fries are nice. (French fries are very important to me.) Evviva fits in pretty well with the location, and the service is good too. Why not stop by if you're in the area?

I'm giving 4 stars based on the friendliness of the staff & being a fun place to hang out. They have great specials such as their half price appetizers all day Sunday. The food is average, but actually above average for bar food. I live close by & this place is always hoppin' which is a good sign these days.

I'm neutral on this place. We came here for dinner on a Thursday night. It was more of a family type of restaurant with kids and someone celebrating some type of kids sport event. I would've liked some booths in this place, but it's the standard tables and high tables and a bar. We started with the mini burgers and they were very good. Think there were 5. Next we did some wings and the special salad. Wings were dry and not very meaty, wouldn't get them again. Salad was good. We capped it off with their special beef sandwich. Way too much salt and wouldn't order that one again. From a food standpoint, we did NOT get the pizza, but I wouldn't eat there again. Drinks were average and reasonably priced. They serve their guiness by just forcing it into the glass and not allowing it to settle before pouring more in. Now I realize that this isn't an Irish pub, but it's a bar for christ sakes, they could at least have a basic understanding of pouring a guiness. They are $4 which is a good price. Wife had mixed drinks and they were $6. Average price, no comments on those. Waittess was good. Touch of sarcasm that's always appreciated and did a nice job of helping us through the menu and was quick and re-ups. All in all, we'll be back for drink specials but won't go out of our way to come here again.

Okay. I am trying not to be negative. It is so easy for me to be negative about places like this. I will start with a couple caveats: a) I have only been here late at night b) Generally, this has been late at night on a weekend So, while I have been there, it has been a crowded meat market where you have to tell the female bartenders (I don't mean to put them down, but the ones I've seen have clearly been hired for certain assets rather than others, which works for most of the clientele) to top off a beer they've charged you for, but not filled. On the other hand, there's a lot of room to sit, so it's a great place to go with co-workers after work, even if you work late. Reasons that I will update this review in the near future (and it will probably be garnered with an additional star): a) I have heard that they make really good pizza b) I live a quarter mile from here c) While I don't drink while the sun is out, I certainly do eat So I'll check back with y'all after I've sampled some of this pizza I've been hearing about. This place is ridiculously close to the train station, which is where I think we should see more bars in general (near train stations in general). Eh, I've been typing for too long, and I've got to ride my bike to work now. Cheers!

Went here for the first time last night....it was a good time. Nothing special as far as ambiance, food, drink menu, etc.. but still a good time. Evviva's is locate steps away from the train station, but it's far from seedy. If fact, much to our bewilderment there were small children lurking in every corner. I think we'll be back again in the future....maybe we'll even try the pizza. It looked great. This is probably not a place you'd ever go out of your way to visit, but if you happen to be in the area you won't be disappointment, if your expectations aren't too high.

I'll just make this short and sweet compared to other reviews since I just came in here for drinks and a quick bite. I went here for drinks with friends on Cinco de Mayo (yeah I don't get it either, Spanish holiday so let's go to an Italian place to celebrate). The prices for drinks weren't bad at all and the food was said to be pretty good so we decided to try that too. I grabbed a burger while my friends split an appetizer. All the food was straight up delicious for the price. Wait staff was really helpful, attentive, and looked pretty good (not like that's that high on my characteristics on how I want my wait staff to be, just letting people know who need hot chicks on the tables). The place was clean and spacious but hidden since it's not on any main roads. The place is also good for catching a game since there were TVs all over the place. So overall, the place is great for multiple enjoyment. From food to drinks to sports to just relaxing, the Evviva's does well for all. I don't live close by, but I'm willing to make trips out there whenever I can.

Something has changed with their pizza. It's soggy, tastes like processed cheese and the crust is like cardboard. We thought it was just an off night and ordered again, very disappointed. What happened?!

I like to keep giving this place the benefit of the doubt because it is in my hometown and right down the street from my house. I would go all the time if the servers could try and do their job. Everytime I go in there it takes forever to be brought menus and get greeted. The first time we up and left because it was more than 15 mins. Went in last sunday with my boyfriend who has been wanting to try the place, I said fine and the only reason why is because they have the best waffle fries around. Took a good 5 mins to get menus. The reason why? Our "waitress" was sitting at the bar flirting with guys, WTF! I wanted to leave already but he made me stay. She then takes our drink order and I order the fries right away. We get the fries about ten mins later and in the meantime she had taken our lunch order and brought out my salad before the appetizer. Already annoyed I just knew our food would be coming out on top of the appetizer and sure enough, 5 mins later our food was brought out. We had the potato poppers. They could have been good but all you are hit with is heat. We also ordered the turkey panini and it was so bland we didn't bother finishing it. I think the servers need to spend more time learning the basics of serving then flirting with guys, hanging out at the bar and taking pics. Now that he's tried the place, we will not be back for awhile...

Pizza is just so so, as is most of the food. Vodka pasta is good though. Half off menu during lunch is the only reason I go here.

Good place to relax, have a few drinks and dinner! Drink specials are available most nights which is a plus. We had fun watching a baseball game on the TV here, the crowd was pumped and it was very entertaining. On weekends they often have entertainment (DJ's and bands) which is always a plus. Pizza here is good but the Bruschetta appetizer is a must have. Entrees are ok but nothing special, better than most bar food but similar to the quality of Friday's.

....My friend loves this teeeeeeny tiny place and I really can't see why. I went once and I don't have any upcoming plans on going back. There were six of us there getting drinks on a Thursday (I think?). There was a Hawks game on so it was sort of busy. There was a diversity of people there. Old annoying men yelling at the TVs, however, not really knowing much about hockey, twenty-somethings getting stupid-drunk and yelling at each other, a few couples on dates, and people sitting at the bar who are probably regulars. The service was okay. The waitresses were all rolling silverware at the furthest table from the door not really paying attention to the customers. I worked at a bar for a while as a waitress and we were never allowed to roll silverware if there were people sitting at your tables. Now I can see why. I got the Godiva martini (I don't know the real name..). I wasn't crazy about it. All I tasted was the chocolate... very little alcohol. I don't have much to say about this place. There are other bars I'd rather go to. The owner was nice enough to get us some free patron shots though. Yay for one star!

I had previously given this place a horrible review based on my repeated experience with someone on the waitstaff providing poor service. Ownership responded quickly and I must say, every waitress is very friendly and I will continue to come back! Great job Evviva!

This is a GREAT place in Lisle. Awesome, reasonable drinks, the bartender, Stacy, right on the ball. Food great, and fast. Not sure what's up with the "groupon" reviews below me but this place rocks. New to the area and they have live music too and a friendly clientelle. I'd recommend to anyone and will become a regular

  • Jon G.

I go here sometimes because it is a five minute walk from my work. I only go during lunch hours when the food is half price. The Evviva salad is awesome. It is a really BIG salad. With ham, cheeses, and such. I have had goat cheese dip there which is great. Nice balance of goat cheese and sauce. I think it would be amazing if goat cheese dip had bits of real goat though. This place does not make me shout from a mountain top, but it is a good option for lunch.

Our group arrived around 7 on a Wednesday night and the staff was able to accommodate our party of 8. The service was topnotch but the food was nothing special. We ordered three pizzas with regular crust. The sauce and toppings were quite tasty but the crust was a bit on the doughy side. For the price I expected more. It was fine for bar food but I was disappointed. Our waitress did buy us a round before we left. I don't think I would recommend Evviva for a date night (I did see a few couples there) but to meet for some pizza and a few beers I definitely would return.

  • Matt W.

I've been here a few times, and I always have a good experience. Their pizza is good, they have a good selection on the menu of sandwiches: I really liked the special Italian beef, which is HUGE and has mozzarella and green peppers. They have a good drink menu, particularly cocktails and wine. Their crinkle cut fries are just ok, I think they have other options though. Good atmosphere and steps away from the train station.

    (4)
  • Becky R.

They have good food but the service, well, it sucks. I only go when it is half price at lunch or half price options at dinner. I have been there on a regular full price time and you wait FOREVER. So, I would rather wait forever and have my food half price. I have also had the same experience when I go later for the bar experience. You wait forever for a drink and sometimes the waitresses never even acknowledge you. This has been an ongoing issue with this place yet I continue to go because it is convenient and can be a very cheap meal option. If it wasn't for that I would probably never go there.

Went there on a lazy Sunday afternoon. They had half priced apps so we had the grilled calamari and some wings. They were just ok. They had $2 lite draft specials so that was a plus. The pizza was really tasty. We stuck with traditional mushroom and sausage. Great sauce and good crust. Waitress was friendly and bubbly. There is also a great outdoor patio so I highly recommend it for a good sunny day.

Nice building, and decent pizza but customer service is horrible. The staff at this place could care less if you come back and I've tried it numerous times to make sure it simply wasn't just an "off" night. There are too many other places to go to spend my money for a few beverages and pizza. If the owner wants this to be a "Cheers" type place then he better hire some staff that know how to treat customers. I personally will not spend another dime in this place.

Stopped in with my family on a Friday night for pizza before heading to a local festival. We sat outside on the patio. The train station is directly across the street, so if you have little ones, it's perfect entertainment, but if you're going for a more intimate setting, sit inside. Eviva is in the heart of Lisle, and being right by the train station, there's lots of street and foot traffic. I had to go inside to get menus and to alert staff we were there. Service was a bit slow, but it was 6:30p and business was starting to pick up, especially near the bar. They had great drink specials. We chose the $2 light drafts, but they also had $5 domestic IPAs and $4 Bacardi you-call-its. We picked a large pizza with traditional crust. You can also choose a thin or even an extra thin crust. The pizza took about 20 minutes and it was just enough to feed 2 adults and 2 very hungry preschoolers (who have large appetites). When it was time to leave, it took longer than we anticipated to receive our check to get where we needed to go. But our server was sweet and apologetic. Will we be back here? Absolutely! It's a great place to go within our small community to see friends and neighbors and to meet new people as well!

I recently moved to the area and was looking for good pizza. I was disappointed when I couldn't find anything. Then my fiancé finally remembered Evvivas. He said he had been there back in the day and it was good. I said ok as I was willing to finally get good pizza. The food was amazing. We had a pizza which was gooey and cheesy. The crust was traditional which was a pan pizza I think. So good. No complaints at all. The place is small. We got a table right away. But the place quickly filled up. The drinks were cold. I and 100% going back.

I heard great things about this bar/restaurant so we tried it on Friday night. We wanted to sit on the patio so we sat down and asked a server if we could sit anywhere. The sever said "yea I'll find a a server"...then we sat there for 10 minutes and never saw a server. We thought about leaving but still wanted pizza so we decided to try a table inside. We found two seats available at the bar. The bartender served the beer and we placed an order for a pizza. We really enjoyed the Evviva Pizza. It was hot and full of flavor. Overall-- food was great but the service was only ok. I think I would order the pizza to go next time.

If you like Pizza-- check this place out!! The girls servers are friendly and the service is pretty good! We are doing an Absolut Vodka promo tonight, but I have been here before for Pizza night!! Live band sometimes and the patio is a nice size. Street parking isn't the best.

Great pizza. And amazing Calamari! Poor service usually. Inattentive staff unless you are a regular at the bar. We spend tall cash when we are out. Bartenders are not friendly to women at all. Thankful for a regular that helped me get some service on my takeout order. We order delivery alot for this reason. Cooks and delivery guys rock!

Food is good but service is extremely slow. First time we went there it took over an hour to get our food. Thankfully they comped our meal. Very nice of them. Went tonight for a second time and same issue. Tilapia with veggies was good. My wife got Chicken Picatta better choice. None the less very slow service. Not sure if we will go back again.

We had a party of 6, so we snagged a table in the corner. The beer Celsius wasn't gigantic, maybe 20 beers, but they have alk if the bases covered. Anywhere with at least some Lagunitas on tap scores ok in my book! We had some fried ravioli and 2 pizzas. The ravioli was good, and the pizza was great. We did wait almost an hour for our pizza, and the previously attentive waitress went M.i.a. For a short while in that timeframe. I'm guessing she had a break and nobody covered for her. Overall, service was ok and the food was pretty good. It's a loud sports bar atmosphere, and plenty of TV's everywhere to see the game

  • Michael R.

I've been here a couple times over the years and enjoyed their by the slice pizza at the annual block party more than food inside the restaurant. It's decent, but is a bar with tables jammed together that is really loud, which is a combination of bad acoustics (open joist space) and patrons yelling over each other. Music came and went, then a Hawks game came on and no game or music, so we were entertained by "fascinating" conversations of our fellow patrons on all sides of us. Food was just o.k. I had a burger with blue cheese crumbles and a side salad which came 5 minutes after my burger. My wife's entrée salad was just o.k. as well. The toasted ravioli appetizer was not worth the money or calories. The filling was not good or flavorful at all. We've tried to go occasionally through the years, but there is usually a wait to get a table and no where to sit to wait. It's a bar that happens to serve food, and that's fine.

Has been spot when visiting Lisle for old Style and pizza. Good sauce and offer gf , but downgrading to 3 stars- average. To keep the 4s - stay inside and with pizza and beer. Lunch missed the mark as service was very slow and sandwiches were cold.

Was hoping to find a great neighborhood bar walking distance to home, so we wanted to give Evviva a chance. Walked up there tonight with my finance and as we walked in we were instructed to have a seat anywhere. We sat at a two top right in front of the bar. We sat for about 10 minutes, watched both bartenders stand around bored, 2 servers stare blankly out the front door, another server come clean the table right next to us and never even glanced over at us, and all servers walk past us at least 3 times without so much as a "I'll be right with you." Only about half the tables were full. Since no one even acknowledged us in the 10 minutes we sat there, we decided to leave. This was not the first bad experience with service we have had here. Will not be going back. What a shame, we only live a mile away.

I was preparing to leave a scathing review. It's Wednesday. I ordered a pizza for delivery. Within 5 minutes of ordering I got a text from Eat24 saying "the restaurant is busy and your order will take a little longer. It should be there by 7:45." An hour and a half?! For Pizza? Okay, in many instances, those types of delivery services overestimate the time so I gave them the benefit of the doubt. Sure enough, it came a little earlier than the stated time, but it still took an hour and 10 minutes... for pizza. I was less than impressed by the delivery but honestly, the pizza is actually sorta tasty. (The Bull and the Bear) The beef was a little too thick for my tastes, but overall, a decent enough pie.

I was here the day this bar opened and have been a patron ever since. That said, I have experienced the ups and downs, and feel confident in my 4-stars. A number of reasons I can't give a 5, but the #1 is the inconsistent customer service. Sometimes it is spot on and above; other times it is deplorable- just depends on the luck (or, unluck as the case may be) of the draw. Generally, the bartenders are highly skilled, but the floor staff is young and lacking. That aside, the food here is great. Highly recommend the pizza (especially Italian beef and giardiniera) and almost all of the appetizers. Burgers are decent and so are the rest of the sandwiches. The weekday specials can't be beat, and the location right off the train makes Pazzos, n/k/a Evvivas, a must-try. Ask for Katie V. as your server, Jen (friendly blonde) or Camille (doe-eyed brunette) as your bartender, and if Rob the manager/owner is in, say hi and tell him how much you are enjoying yourself

Had a great time at this place!!!! It was Tuesday Trivia night with K-Zone and what a blast! Nicole was our server and she was extremely friendly, helpful and knowledgable of the wine and food menu. They had this close out wine menu and I was drinking some 3.50 merlot all night- was pretty decent. I ordered a grilled salmon as my entree minus the blackened seasoning plus a side of Spanish rice (I know, weird ... But that was the only kind of rice they had).food came out pretty fast and was amazing. The place is a quaint little bar. Was pretty crowded when we arrived because the train was delayed. We were able to find a 4 topper right away so all was good. And of course trivia was super fun. We didn't win but it was an entertaining night. :))

$ 5.00 off for waiting over an hour for a large thin crust pizza! And that was only after we sought out the manager and asked him to check on our order. He came to our table and said that in fact we had arrived over an hour ago but he couldn't say when the pizza order was entered. He apologized for the delay and offered us a drink but we declined because we were starving. He assured us that he would adjust our bill for the aggravation and get the order out ASAP. The order arrived 15 minutes later and was thick crust and not the thin we ordered. We assumed that the manager would deduct the pizza from our bill but instead he only deducted $5.00 for waiting over an hour and 20 minutes for a pizza that usually takes 20-30 minutes to make. In the past the service has been prompt and the thin crust pizza good but not last night.

We had 20 family members meet here after a wake tonight. We did not give prior notice as it was a last minute decision. The staff was wonderful and very accommodating. They never showed any stress over the large group coming in at 9pm! The waitresses worked together to take orders and everything came out at once! The appetizers, pizza, and sandwiches were very good. I love the grilled calamari and love the baked clams even more (have never tasted anything close). Kudos to your staff Rob! They did a great job and I don't regret recommending that we come here. My family enjoyed the restaurant atmosphere and the food.

After seeing this place featured on Chicago's Best, we knew we had to come try the Evviva pizza (chicken, bacon, artichokes, and olives). So after a frustrating morning of shopping we stopped in. For drinks, we weren't in the mood for beer so we chose Bloody Mary's. They are 25 ounces, and are $9 with $7 refills; I can dig that. On Sundays they have a "Build your own Bloody Mary Bar" but our server never elaborated when we placed our drink order. After deciding to skip appetizers, we ordered a large Evviva pizza and waited anxiously to taste deliciousness. The inside of Evviva is your typical sports bar- multiple flat screen t.v.'s, a Touch Tunes music player, and a combo of both low and high-top tables. It obviously is decorated for Christmas with lights strung around the ventilation system and mini Christmas trees hung upside down from the ceiling. The Bloody Mary's are very spicy, which is awesome. Between the pizza and the Bloody's (I had two) I left with a serious case of heartburn, which is was fine with me. It was well worth it. The Evviva pizza was phenomenal. Who knew artichokes would go so well on a pizza? And of course, you can't beat black olives and bacon. The chicken was exceptional; the flavor was so good. I don't know what they seasoned it with, but it was very tasty. The pizza crust itself is like nothing I've ever experienced. Crispy, but not too crispy and chewy but not too chewy. For a Sunday, it was fairly quiet (we arrived at noon when they opened) but our service was a bit spotty. It wasn't a huge issue, as we were in no hurry. I can imagine during peak times it can be frustrating. Today was an enjoyable experience between a small crowd (less than 15 patrons), football games, and country music (my fave) playing throughout the speakers. Regardless, we will be back. In the bf's words "any place with awesome pizza and 25 oz Bloody's is okay in my book."

My family and I LOVE this place. Get delivery every couple weeks. They are always crazy busy so don't be surprised if it takes longer for your food to be made than what was told to you over the phone. Personally, I don't mind waiting the extra minutes given how delicious their food is. Customer service is on point, too. Definitely try the Tony Salerno's Special! We order it every time.

Mediocrity at its finest, if you are planning to get wasted watching a Blackhawks game and numb those tastebuds, then maybe the food will suffice at this loud bar/restaurant with fine views of the Metra station. Unfortunately, I don't drink so I was forced to suffer through a bland at best meal (ever heard of herbs and spices?) in a loud and unappealing bar. I ordered tortellini with ham and mushrooms and the ham was literally thinly sliced sandwich meat. The Mac and Cheese gave my son diarrhea, and I am totally unsure if the cheese it was made with was even real. Anyway, I'm sure this place is fine for booze and wings but don't recommend ordering anything that resembles a meal.

I've been to Evviva a few times in the past. The cocktails were always their strength, albeit they seem to be increasingly sweet over time, so I'm assuming that they are engaging more and more in concocting high-fructose delights. I must comment that their pizza is definitely one of the best in Lisle, so they have that going for them. I visited a couple of nights ago, and first of all, the room was ass cold and not comfortable to sit in for very long. The cocktails were lip-pursing sweet. The service was slow. Our server definitely put the "wait" in "wait"-ress. Usually, we munch on the tasty pizza, but this time we decided to give the pulled pork nachos a try. Granted, the pork on the nachos was pretty good, and the chips themselves seemed to be made in house. However, the chips were slathered in cheese (perhaps "slathered" is an understatement; let's go with "drowned") whiz, and some sort of dressing that I think was supposed to be sour cream but just wasn't. We didn't particularly want to finish them, and tried our best to find some stray diced tomatoes and green onions that were tainted with orange fake cheese. I'll probably be back to Evviva, but will stick to the pizza exclusively from now on, and forget the drinks.

Great food and Great Staff! This restaurant is conveniently located across from the train station. We stop in on our way to the library for a quick and delicious meal quite often. We are always met with a friendly welcome. The place is neighborhood friendly, cozy and has TV's going for a sports bar feel. We enjoy the atmosphere and unlike many sports bars, find it quieter and more conducive for conversation. The highlight however, is the food. It is always served hot, the salads fresh and the variety terrific. The staff is wonderful about tailoring your meal to your dining requirements. They split salads and pastas for sharing without batting an eyelash! The best surprise is the price. You get a wonderful meal, drinks and wonderful service for a terrific price. Evviva is a great value, great place with great staff. We love it and you would too! Eileen H.

We ordered 3 sandwiches , bacon burger had no bacon, Tuscan chicken panini was burnt and had very little ingredients. Last beef special was wrong and rubbery! But our dog gives them 3 paws

Well you can't have it all I guess. A Salernos family pizza place which says a lot, and of course the tastes are reminiscent of old time Berwyn Cicero. Apparently these kids haven't learned anything about service from their parents and grandparents though. Pizza came out first, then fried mushrooms about ten minutes later, then five minutes after that my kids' sliders. Not one stop at the table to see how we were doing, and never did get a drink refill. The place is grossly understaffed and pretty much filthy. I guess that's what kids of successful entrepreneurs do- get lazy, and maybe greedy. It's a crying shame this place is the way it is. With the food it serves, people will come. However, I believe there would be double the people if they clean and get people in and out in a timely fashion. All that said, I will probably still order delivery and try to forget what it smells like in the restaurant. If you go bring some baby wipes and make sure you use the bathroom before you leave the house. As far as the food is concerned, if your pallette is still enact after smelling the place you will thoroughly enjoy a classic Chicago Italian tradition.

Not happy at all. I came home from work very tired, and very hungry; so I decided to order for delivery. I ordered the Steak Sandwich with cheese, which also comes with a side of Fries. The cut of steak that I was served was 60% meat and 40% fat, which really irritated me. If you ask me, that is terrible service; what kind of chef/cook would serve a cut of steak that had so much fat on it. He/she should have thrown it out and cooked a new one, but instead they decided to serve it to me as is. I have a feeling that had I been dining in the restaurant, they would have never served me that cut of steak --as I surely would have sent it back. Additionally, the steak was seemingly unseasoned. It lacked flavor, and I can tell that it was neither seasoned before cooking, nor afterwards. Simply putting sauce would have made it much better, but there was none. All in all I was very disappointed and will not be eating from this establishment anytime in the near future. You do not serve steak that is nearly half fat, and you should at least season the steak with salt/pepper --or at the very least forewarn us that it is served unseasoned.

This is my local bar and it's one of the best places around! I go here often and love the people and atmosphere! They have lots of TV, always playing the Hawks, Bears, and Bull when they are on. The pizza here is the best around, two of my favorites is the Bruschetta and Tony Salerno I prefer thin crust but their tradition is awesome as well! Their pizza is not the only good food there, they have amazing pasta like Vodka Pasta and Tortellini Alla Panna. I've tried everything once or twice everything is good! They have amazing food and drink specials everyday! Two of my favorite drinks there is the Caribbean dream martini and the Blue Island. The bartenders know what they are doing and create amazing drinks. All the girls are the nicest people you will meet always trying to help, they know what they are talking about and if they are unsure they are more then willing to ask. If you ask they will give you their option on favorite foods or drinks! Best bar food around! Cheers and enjoy!

The food is good but the service is incredibly slow. Asked for extra napkins and she only gave me one and it had someone's order written on it

This is my new favorite thin crust pizza place. It's sooo delish! They use a good amount of cheese and the ingredients are fresh and they don't skimp on them. Love artichoke and spinach on my pizza. I haven't tried their specialty pizza's but I plan to in the future. I've also had the pleasure of dining in as well. It's a nice space with exposed brick. Gone a few times on the weekends never had any problems getting a table. The patio is also nice. Prices on the menu are very good. Plus they offer lots of weekday specials. My one complaint is sometimes they play music to loud. I don't like having to shout at the person across from me when we're having dinner. Staff is nice, beer is good. I'm a regular for sure!

I ordered for the first time via Grubhub. My selection of pasta with vodka sauce ($11.00) came without the added chicken ordered (another $3, for a total of $14.00). I contacted Grubhub and oh, how nice. The restaurant credited me for $3. How about a full credit of $14.00?! Rigatoni with vodka sauce and no chicken as ordered, is a completely different meal. And worst yet, as I explained to Grubhub, the sauce was BLAND. I could've thrown some pasta in a pot in less time that I waited for the order and my jarred sauce would've tasted better!!! The mozzarella sticks were fine, albeit really salty. Not sure about the chocolate cake as I haven't tried it (I was starving). Will not order from this restaurant again. I wish I would've looked at the reviews before ordering.... Bland taste and lack of seasonings were mentioned before. And I'm not happy with grubhub (who I really do love) even though the did give me a $5 credit for a new order. I reached out to them a 2nd time saying I'm not satisfied bc plain pasta vs pasta w chicken are two different meals. The noted that all Evviva would credit is $3... NOT HAPPY! Taste your food before serving, Evviva and make sure the orders are right!!! To err is human but how about making customers happy??? ***Response to Owner's Comments to my Review*** 1) Regarding your manager not correcting the situation as well as you would have...This is not an extraordinary complaint. Clearly there has not been proper training of management on customer service which is key in any business. I ordered my food at 4:45pm and complained about the error shortly after delivery. Busy or not, a good manager should know how to handle this sort of complaint without much thought. And...I find it insulting that you would even mention that many people complain in order to get free food. The mistake was clearly yours. I do not need a free meal from you or anyone else, thank you. 2) As to my statement/opinion that the vodka sauce was bland, I stick by it. I am no stranger to vodka sauce - it's one of my absolute favorites. Therefore, I consider my palate to be a fair judge on what has a good taste and what is bland. My assertion was honest and in my opinion, correct. Not to gain a "free" meal as you suggested in your comments - AGAIN. 3) As far as criticizing my rating of your restaurant goes, I'm in awe. As a consumer, I am entitled to my opinion. That's what the Yelp community is about. And yes, you are entitled to rebut. But you don't have the right to challenge how I felt about my experience. Most people will take the time to review a restaurant when they are either over-joyed or very disappointed. It's an opportunity to improve, not complain that you will now need two 5-star reviews to counteract that. 4) I would strongly suggest some customer service training for both you as the owner and your staff. I have been in high-end sales for 20+ years and have been extremely successful not only for my consultative style but also ensuring stellar customer service. You can turn a problem into an opportunity to build a stronger relationship with a client/customer simply by demonstrating care and taking extra steps to correct the situation. Not by providing excuses and insults strewn within a half apology... Thank for the offer to try your restaurant for a 2nd time but there are just too many other options and your comments actually made me feel that much more strongly about my 1 star review.

Our waitress was oblivious and took forever to bring us our check, too busy flirting with the old men at the table next to us. The pizza took forever too. I kept looking around and no tables around us had their food. Once the pizza did finally arrive it was fabulous. Next time we'll order right when we sit down so we don't wait an hour.

My brother-in-law and I are from the next town over. A few months ago we discovered Evviva Bar and Eatery and are sure glad we did. Going in, as a Restaurant/Bar place I expected the food to be just okay but was pleasantly delighted to find out that the food is very, very good. Today we were greeted by Tattiana with a smile, and she remembered our preferred drinks from the last time which was nice and made us feel welcome. We like going in there on Sundays since the appetizers are 1/2 off. Not only that but it is the only place in the area that we know of that has Grilled Calamari on their menu and is it ever tasty. To go along with the Grilled Calamari, I had a Blackened Salmon Salad which was very tasty and my brother-in-law had a delicious burger. Not only is it a great place to catch a game as they have a great deal of HD TV's in the establishment but it is also family friendly and conveniently located with convenient parking. We will certainly be back again soon and will recommend Evviva to our family and friends!

I live right by the train station and I LOOOOVE Evvivas. I bring my family, my friends, co-workers you name it I bring them here because I tell everyone this place has the BEST pizza & a great selection of beer. I've never had a bad experience. The servers are always nice and makes me feel welcomed each time I go. Please if you're ever in Lisle STOP BY THIS PLACE! You will not be disappointed. I've stopped by to wait on for a train (made my train). This place is simply the best. So yeah you should go there

Cockroach? Cockroach? My most fear bugs! I was sitting next to Rosie's table when she found one in her plate. One of the person in our table overheard the conversation when the manager came - not cool how he dealt with the situation. I'm done with going to that place too.

Recently moved to lisle and this place is my go to now. Unlike other reviewers I've always experienced stellar service but it's usually from one server in particular. I believe her name is Tabitha. She's outstanding at what she does always on top of refilling drinks and has a great personality. Not to mention she's pretty easy on the eyes :). Besides Tab, the pizza and drink specials make this place great. Do yourself a favor, drop what your doing, request Tabitha to be your server and order a traditional sausage and pepperoni. It's the perfect combo.

I ordered six drinks here tonight. My tab had ten on it. The first three went to the wrong table and it took me 25 minutes to get my first round. When I disputed my bill I was told that drinks were already taken off. I wound up explaining my situation to my server then the owner, who informed me that two of the fireball shots on my bill were from me buying him and his employee(a friend who was sitting with us) a shot. After I informed him I didn't buy him a drink, he said he'd take care of it. A few minutes later he handed me back the same the same tab with a dirty look and not a word left his mouth. He glared at me a few more times before I left. In all seriousness I didn't think customer service this bad existed..... Pizza's not bad though.

I stopped in here a few weeks ago with my brother and was unimpressed. He and my sister-in-law always talk about how cool the place is and how great the food is. The drink menu seemed decent and with a wide selection of drinks and specialty beers, and the food looked pretty good ... except we ordered an appetizer sampler and everything was obviously frozen food, nothing special, including overly rubbery calamari. Oh, and a long, black, curly hair in it. The waitress was apologetic and the manager did offer us a new platter, but then we had to wait until half hour for the second platter. They offered us free 'house' shots and it seemed pretty nice, until I realized that all the staff were doing these shots with the patrons. Multiple times. I agree with the folks who've already reviewed the atmosphere as older folks trying to act young again. About 5-6 40-year-olds were hanging in one corner doing these free shots all night while the manager joined in on the fun. Our waitress was okay ... she seemed to be ready to ask me for refills whenever I was low, but we always had to flag her down to get my brother a refill. One time, we were both ready but she only asked me then walked away - didn't even look at him. A week or so later, my sister-in-law ordered delivery pizza for my niece's birthday and we were fairly satisfied. I had the sausage, which was flavorful. I also tried the margherita, which was bland with giant pieces of basil that I couldn't really chew through and had to pull out of my mouth. The tomato pieces were huge and after 1-2 bites, all ingredients were off the crust and I was left with really bland dough.

Came here for drinks and a late dinner with a group of four. Left here thinking that I would have been fine with just ordering the drinks. We got the chicken wings for our app, and by the suggestion of a someone in the group who frequents this bar, asked for the "tequila flavor" (not on the menu). They ended up being dry, tough and had very little meat overall. The sausage pizza for our entree was an improvement. There was a lot of meat and just the right amount of gooey cheese. However, there was little seasoning so I topped it with whatever shakers of spices were on the table. Plus the crust had a bit of a cardboard texture. In the end, the drink specials and friendly/divey atmosphere made this place semi-worth the late night visit.

Pizza

Pizza is a famous Italian dish savored around the world. The entire credit for the popularity of Pizza in the United States goes to the chain of pizzerias all over the country. While the base and the texture of Pizza remains same across the globe, it's the toppings that differs from country to country. In the United States, you will find the top pizzerias serving pizzas with the toppings of mainly beef, bacon, chicken, ham, and sausage for the non-vegetarians. Other than these famous meat options, Pizzas with veg toppings such as mushrooms, pepperonis, garlic, tomatoes, spinach, etc. are also famous in most restaurants in the United States.

Irrespective of your locality, you will find a variety of different restaurants in your cities offering pizzas of all different types. Pizza is hot favorite among people of all ages in the United States. A large size pizza is enough to feed a family of 3 or 4 at large. Pizza is also the most preferred food whenever a group of friends is hanging out together. Pizza gained popularity in the United States after the American soldiers stationed in Italy returned from World War II.

Over the years, different pizzerias in the United States have developed their own respective regional variations. Pizza gained popularity as the iconic dish in the United States in the second half of the 20th century. Whether you prefer thin or thick crust pizza, you can find a pizza of your preference at the best pizza restaurants in your city.

Italian Cuisine

The immense popularity of Italian cuisine globally isn't unknown. You can find an Italian Pizzeria around every corner of almost every city in the United States. Not to forget that in every house, people enjoy mac and cheese as comfort food. But it would be wrong to believe that Italian food starts with pizza and ends with good pasta as this Mediterranean country has much more to offer other than these two dishes. In Italian Cuisine, there is a high use of fresh tomatoes, all kinds of herbs, great quality of cheese, all types of meat, seafood and fresh handmade pasta. Many find it hard to believe that Italians have been making noodles long back.

Italian and Greek cuisines are always mistaken to be same, but they are poles apart. The primary difference between the two cuisines is the use of cheese in most of the Italian dishes. Italians love to cultivate their own cheese and process them as per their food requirement. It is believed that some cheese is so expensive that cheese producers secure them in lockers.

If you are bored eating the same old pasta or pizza, you can try some of the authentic Italian dishes like Risotto, Polenta, Ribollita, Lasagna, Fiorentina Steak, Bottarga, Ossobuco, Carbonara, Focaccia, Arancini and Supplì. Another item which Italians love to relish every morning is a good cup of Italian Coffee. Once you taste a freshly brewed cup of Italian Coffee, you might not visit Starbucks ever again. Authentic Italian food is made with heart and soul, so go find a restaurant where you can relish Italian cuisine in your city.
