I have yet to read the other reviews, but we stopped in after grabbing dinner at a local restaurant. I am going this place a 3 of 5 stars, because its the most average froyo place in the world. Nothing special, but nothing wrong with it. Ambiance: Very average... I guess thats the main focus of this review, there is nothing special about this place. Its just like every other froyo place. Its not bad by any means, but its nothing to write home about. The Froyo: It is... you guessed it... average. The toppings are the standard froyo toppings. Cookie dough is the usual hard balls, not fresh. Staff: Staff felt very... disconnected, and average. Overall, I would say if you want froyo and you just so happen to by next door to Yo Froot then its worth grabbing. Definitely not my first choice of places to get froyo. its A-OK and 3 of 5 stars from me. Thanks, Connor Brady

Worst froyo place I've ever been to. I didn't think it was possible to ruin froyo for me until today. The tart flavors were not tart but overly sweet. None of the flavors were strong of their respective flavors. There were exactly two options for fruit toppings, strawberry and kiwi. I was really disappointed with this place.

I thought you're open till 10:30pm? Got here at 10:15 and the doors were locked already. How long does it take to scoop ice cream or make a shake?

Decent frozen yogurt place. Basically a rip off of YogurtLand. The yogurt selection is good, a lot of fresh fruit for toppings, and I thought it tasted fine. The decor is also pretty cool. On the downside, the Hershey bottles are cheap, employees seem less than thrilled, and there's too many junk food toppings. All in all, not bad. And it's good to find a decent dessert place in Libertyville.

So I came in here over the weekend with my wife and some friends. The decor is nice and clean looking inside. There is lots of self-serve machines and a bunch of toppings. However, the problem with places like this is you pay by weight and it is really easy to get lots of weight (and money). I went for bubble tea. Then they gave me a frozen frappe thing instead of actually giving me a taro tea that was actually liquid. Sadly it was over sugared as well.

I would agree that this was by far the worst frozen yogurt shop I have been to. I asked to sample one of the flavors and you would have thought I asked them to make a new batch. The girl had to come out and fill the cup for me as well, this was a bit uncomfortable. I am guessing they do this since there are a lot of teenagers and younger kids that probably come in just to get free samples. The froyo station did not seem all that great, and it was overpriced at 45 cents an ounce (most places I have gone to charge 35 cents an ounce). So I opted for a bubble tea. I asked if they mixed flavors and the guy at the counter said he could be then it wasn't guaranteed it would be any good. Kind of a weird thing to tell a customer. If you do decide to get froyo here, get it to go... the noise of screaming children and loud talking high schools was unbearable.

Meh. Months ago I'd told my mom that I was surprised that the frozen yogurt fad hadn't really hit the suburbs. You can stumble fro one to the other in Chicago. Anyway, we checked this out over the weekend when I was home visiting. The yogurt was ok. They don't have a plain tart flavor, which to me defeats the purpose. Also, I was weirder out by the fact that they fill the sample cups for you. I can understand with teenagers who would abuse it, but we're talking about my 60-something year old parents for crying out loud. At that point it's somewhat insulting. When we asked for the to-go containers, they put in little ice packs, which was nice. I don't know if it helped, but it was a nice gesture.

I am not really sure why this place has gotten so many negative reviews. Yo Froot is family friendly and very inviting. Their frozen yogurt flavors are great! I would actually give this place more stars than the well known Red Mango!

Worst experience ever. This was place was dirty... seemed to be a hang out for local teens.... the girl behind the counter took my order... then 5 minutes later asked me if I wanted tapioca... Does it come with tapioca?? Since Bubble Tea is new, I wasnt sure if this is standard? Does it come with fries as well??? The bathroom had a broken toilet..I told the lady behind the ocunter and I go a friendly.. o k.... Spend your money elsewhere

Husband and I stopped by here today, something I've been wanting to do since it opened. The young lady working this afternoon was very friendly, helpful. She showed us where everything was and what steps to take. I wanted a bubble tea so she made me a strawberry pineapple which was delicious. Fresh chunks of pineapple. Loved it! My husband tried frozen yogurt for the first time; he tried cake batter and chocolate flavored. Hard to believe they were non fat. The cake batter was amazing. The only reason for 4 stars was the smell we encountered when we first walked in. Sort of a sulfur like smell, got used to it quickly, but it was weird to experience. We'll be back, the lady started us a punch card. :)

I love frozen yogurt so I was happy to see this place...no its the best self serve frozen yogurt place Ive been to but it does the trick...It cost 8 bucks for my husband and I getting yogurt...and I put a few toppings on mine...I can see how one person may spend 8 bucks here...but at anyother Self Serve place you will pay the same. For what we have around here I say yay! its worth it...especially on a hot day!

Not impressed. Another place trying to jump on the fro yo bandwagon without quality fro yo. Basically McDonald's soft serve with pick your own candy and fruit. There's also a sticky bottle of Hershey's syrup at the end of the line, reminding me that I probably could have had the same thing at home.

I don't usually like this kind of "ice cream", but it really hit the spot especially with the cookie dough and brownie chunks. The lady working the counter incredibly and passionately provides great service. You can tell she believes in the product.

I've given this place several chances. I want to like this place, I really do. The service is average to fine. The store is in a good, busy location in Libertyville. The shop was always clean the times I visited. I've tried their bubble teas twice and both times they were sadly disappointing. Not authentic and the flavors were off. I also tried their frozen yogurt recently. That was slightly better than the bubble tea but nothing special. I suggest that the staff should to be trained to make the bubble teas better or use the right proportions.

Such a friendly environment for a froyo place. Most froyo places get their customers in and out, but at Yofroot, the staff is incredibly friendly (in an inviting way, not an annoying fake way either) and wants you to stay. Enjoyed my experience so much that I was thinking about apply for a job here. Love it! Highly recommend the horchata frappe... Incredibly delicious!!! Also, very good bubble tea!

The worse frozen yogurt place ever. Self-serve, gas station-like dispensers have all kinds of symbols giving cryptic nutrition (?) information about soft-serve frozen dairy treat. The employees weren't much help. Just said - plan on spending around $7.00 - $8.00 on a large size. Walked out. Will never walk back in.

This is a great addition to the variety of restaurants in Libertyville. The employees are always friendly and helpful. My favorites are the peanut butter and cookies and cream flavors of frozen yogurt. I'm sure the only reason employees are filling up the sample cups for customers is to be helpful and prevent a mess from occurring all over the customer.

I've been here before and the service was very average, but today we were greeted immediately with a smile, asked if we have questions, and even recommendations for some new flavors! Very good selection of toppings and yogurts.

UPDATE: Owner has changed. Remodeled everything. The interior is not so tacky anymore! I think they change the flavors up every week now.
