Catered Productions

277 Peterson Rd
Libertyville, 60048
Reviews:
We used Catered Productions for a pig-roast and wedding shower in our back yard. "Katie" set everything up for us and took care of all the details. "Victor," a very pleasant employee, came right on time with a canopy, a huge cooler, a big pot of delicious coffee and all of our food.He finished roasting on site and put everything out for us on long tables. He also cleaned everything up after the party. Everything we ordered was noted on the menu form and checked off by our cook/server. Our guests complimented Victor on the great job he did at the house. Catered Productions helped make the shower extra special. We highly recommend them.
We used Catered Productions for our wedding this month. From start to finish, their service was impeccable. They guided us through their many menu options, were really flexible when we selected food stations and wanted to swap out some of the food items, and were very accommodating to our special dietary requests (gluten-free and vegetarian). On the day of the event, their staff was so fun and friendly. They made set up look like a breeze and handled everything during the event perfectly. Our guests raved about the food, the waitstaff and the bartenders. Thanks, Catered Productions!
I've used Catered Productions 3 more times since my original review. They have continued to provide tasty food at a good price, with terrific customer service. I've ordered their continental breakfast again, which was reliably good. For one luncheon I ordered the Chicken Picatta and teriyaki beef with rice, veggies, and assorted extras. For another lunch I had the pulled pork and Italian beef with assorted sides and extras. Each time they were on time, professional, well priced, with good food and no hassles. I have another lunch even coming up and you can bet I'll use Catered Productions again.

Burt’s Deli

Reviews:
Darn good pastrami, definitely recommend minus the price.
You can get a pretty good sandwich at Burt's, but it's so overpriced that you should be prepared for a nose bleed. Everything seems alacarte, so don't expect tater salad with that sandwich to be included in the price. We were a party of 4, and our bill was over $45; all we had were corned beef or tuna sandwiches with chips and pickles, two sides and diet cokes! Maybe that guy behind the counter was a bit too much "New York".
Excellent! I randomly discovered this place thanks to Yelp. So many people said to try the Yummy. I don't even really like pastrami or corned beef, but once the man making my sandwich gave me a free sample of the meat, it was decided. They were VERY nice to me here. The sandwich was great. The price was a little high at $12.79, but I really appreciate small places like this. I will be back.

Dairy Dream Drive-In

Reviews:
Now, I'm usually not a big soft-serve ice cream gal. I always frown upon soft-serve as a much less flavorful imitation of the real deal ice cream, lacking in that creamy richness that makes hand-dipped ice cream so fantastic. BUT - I make a rare exception for a few soft-serve spots, Dairy Dream being one of these rarities. Most of my love for DD ties back to the fact that their soft-serve isn't just "chocolate or vanilla", instead they offer loads (like 30) of different ice cream flavors! Personally, I've experienced the cake batter, cappuccino, and maple nut varieties and all of those are quite scrumptious. The maple nut though is rrrreally my favorite - it is just soooo deliciously like maple syrup in soft-serve form :o I love that the mapley-ness is rather pronounced, seeing as typically, many of the funky-flavored soft-serves do not embody the potency of the flavor they are meant to represent. Rather, there exists a subtle undertone of flavor in each respective variety - blahh. Not with the maple nut! That right there is Aunt Jemima on a cone! :D
Nice, but, just ice cream. I will take my addiction to Greg's Frozen Custard in the future.
This place looks like a shack off the side of the road, but those are the places that are usually good! I came across Dairy Dream on Yelp and I have to admit it's no Gregg's but, sometimes you just want simple soft serve. This place actually reminds me of a place I visited in New York on my way to the Woodbury Common Premium Outlet Mall. I always get the vanilla soft serve covered in rainbow sprinkles. They have a variety of other soft serve as well that I will have to explore. I would definitely recommend this to anyone driving through Libertyville.

Wildberry Cafe

Reviews:
They had the absolute best pancakes I've had! Ordered the would berry ones, fresh fruit on top. The coffee wasn't my favorite, but the food was great. I'd definitely recommend this place!
Oh this place. I miss it so much! Almost always packed because it's so good. The crepes are amazing! Actually, everything is. The skillets, pancakes, and hash browns are yum! Never had anything other than breakfast, but I'm sure that's good too.
First time we went there it was absolute crap. It was a busy Sunday and the food was mediocre at best. Service was even worse. Second time was amazing. The food was fantastic. It was a Wednesday morning. We were seated promptly and our food came out in a timely manner. The server had a major attitude and a stick stuck up her rear. I wanted to punch her in the boob. Every time we asked her for something it seemed to be more of a chore for her then it did her doing her job.

Big Ed’s BBQ

536 N Milwaukee Ave
Libertyville, 60048
Reviews:
First off, this place is waaaaaaay over-priced. The food isn't bad, but its really no different than the last place that occupied that establishment. Do yourself a favor and drive 10 minutes down 21 to Real Urban BBQ.
Everything we had was soooo tender and moist! We ordered the pulled pork "sammiches", brisket dinner and sample tiro. Everyone totally enjoyed everything! Big portions...you can probably share the dinner and all "sammiches" come with a good portion of french fries. Super friendly staff and Big Ed is great! you can tell he loves what he does---it show in his food :) Unlike the previous BBQ tenant at this location --Big Ed's only offers one type of BBQ sauce, but it's the only one you need!
food is really good BBQ and the menu has some funny jokes on it if you read it. Laid back atmosphere. Great for a quick lunch. Food wasn't dry and the sauce was excellent. There are currently only 2 Big Eds locations and Ed bounces between both locations. The staff is very friendly and are concerned about your food eating experience.

Island Tap

112 E Cook Ave
Libertyville, 60048
Reviews:
Island Tap is by far my favorite watering hole in Libertyville... It's a small town, Irish pub that sticks to what they do best: making & pouring drinks with a smile. They pull in the locals who you WANT to hang out with -the cool kids on School. Whither you go to Island Tap with your posse or alone, you'll leave a happier you! Billy... He's the best bartender this side of the pond: friendly, relaxed, pours killer drinks & has a personality to boot! He brought home the best Baby Guinness family shot recipe from Ireland, 'Billy's Mini Guinnie.' Order one... You'll LOVE it, almost as much as Billy. If you don't like it (the drink), msg me & I'll think about reimbursing you. Simply put: Good People+Good Drinks=Good Times @ Island Tap.
Parked in the middle of a parking lot behind the main drag row of buildings is this oasis in Libertyville. You come here to get your local drink social on, Irish is the style, and on tap as well; but a butt load of bottled Corona and Lite to boot. Open mic nights on Wednesday so step up to the mic and get your play-sing on. Service was friendly - tip - $20 min with credit cards, also, no food, but you can order from a Morgan's menu and Morgans next door will bring the food over to you. You don't even have to leave your seat at the bar, now THAT'S convenience.
Riff raff? LMAO This place is as dangerous as Lake Forest. Pretty awesome, chill place with no damn children whatsoever.
