Pizzeria Deville Menu

Diabetics at Pizza Hut

Pizza is neither a great meal nor the worst for diabetes. All you need is some fact check and monitoring while ordering your pizza. Diabetics can opt for thin crust or skinny pizza at Pizza Hut and avoid the cheese topping to cut down on the excess fat and sodium. If you have diabetes, then ensure to check your portion size when you order a pizza. One or max. two slices are enough. You can also avoid meat if possible and go for wings as a meat option.

Foods to Avoid at Pizza Hut for Diabetics:

You must avoid Meat Lovers Pizza with Original Pan Crust as it contains over 1000mg sodium and will add 470 calories in your meal. You should also skip Super Supreme Pizza Large Original Pan Slice which is too high in sodium and fat. Chicken wings are often tempting but you must control and restrict yourself from ordering Traditional Honey BBQ Bone-in Wings as it can add up to your sugar levels if you eat too many. On average, a person orders or consumes six chicken wings pieces in a day.

Sides must be avoided at all costs especially if it's Bacon Cheddar Fries with Ranch Dipping Cup for its high sodium content. You must also avoid New York Style Cheesecake with Applesauce as dessert as one slice of this dessert item contains 86g sugar. Pizza Hut also offers other Italian dishes such as Pasta. However, you must skip Spaghetti with Meat Sauce and Meatballs and Garlic Bread as it is too high in sodium and sugar.

Fast-food restaurants like Pizza Hut are not recommended to dine-in if you are diagnosed with high blood pressure. Most pizzas at Pizza Hut are high in sodium and hence you must stick to one or max. two slices of any regular size pizza to limit your sodium intake. Try out the salads as they are not only healthy but also keeps you full for a longer period. However, you must ensure that you don't order the salads without any extra dressing.

High Cholesterol at Pizza Hut

Whether large, medium or small, a pizza can boost your cholesterol levels instantly. You shouldn't eat more than one slice of any pizza your order at Pizza Hut. If you're concerned with your high cholesterol, then it is wise to take your friends to Pizza Hut and share pizza among them slice by slice. You can also try pasta at Pizza Hut but ensure that you are not adding any dressing or extra cheese as you order pasta.

As a Chicagoan by birth but a New Yorker at heart, I am a thin crust pizza snob...and I am delighted that Deville exemplifies all that's best about brick oven pizza, with a well-trained and enthusiastic chef-owner that has thrown his heart and soul into this place! I've scouted out pizza from LA to NYC to Italy, and this place holds its own next to any of them. The beautiful brick oven in the open kitchen is the centerpiece of the casual and welcoming main floor seating area, and I love the wood stacks lined up on display, waiting for their moment of glory in the oven. Chef John has been on duty every time I have visited so far, working in the kitchen and getting to know his clientele and asking for their feedback--a great sign for Deville's long-term success. The crusts are wonderfully charred and flavorful, the Nutella pie is edible paradise, and the ingredients are fresh and well-prepared. This place keeps its focus on excellent quality while maintaining reasonable prices and a friendly atmosphere (with none of the attitude shown by some other local new places). It would be right at home in the Big Apple, which is probably why I feel so at home here myself!

Second time in this place, took some out of town relatives and our pizza was charcoal black burned. I understand it's a wood stove but that said nobody should eat dark black pizza crust. Waitress said oh it wasn't even that burnt was her response. Next time I want to ingest a load of charred pizza, cancerous to top all I'll head that way.

Really good pizza (had vegetarian, bbq, and meat w balsamic vinaigrette), decent ambiance (they could do more in the basement to match the decor of upstairs), and good service (plan on the pizza taking 20-25 min after ordering). They were good with kids ranging from 1-6 years old. Also had gluten free offerings.

I've been here twice and both times it was a pleasant experience. I was recently here last weekend on a double date and we all enjoyed our pizzas, the salad we shared and the service. The salads, in my opinion, are large enough for 2-4 people to share before indulging in their delicious pizzas. For dessert, the four of us shared the Nutella pizza. Yes, I did just say Nutella! Warm, rich, hazelnut spread on wood fired pizza dough. So good! If you enjoy Nutella, you'll love this. Also, if you aren't a friend of hazelnut, chocolate spread we can't be friends! The dessert pizza is the same pizza as their regular pizzas; be prepared.

We were skeptical about trying this place after reading the reviews, and as we waited one of the customers verbally complained to their waiter about their pizza. We decided, we'll only find out if we try it. Upon arriving, we were told the wait would be about 15 minutes. We were seated in 13 minutes - the hostess was very attentive to us, letting us know we would be seated soon. Once seated, we looked at the menu, and had no idea what some of the pizzas consisted of. We had to tell our waiter it was our 1st time here and asked what she recommended. We took her suggestion, and ordered the, "my favorite pie." As we waited, we creeped on other customers pizzas' and saw a lot of them were burnt at the crust. We sat and prayed ours wouldn't turn out like that! We also ordered some bruschetta (chopped tomato, basil, fior di latte) - nothing special. We've had better. When our pizza did arrive, we were surprised and happy to see, no burnt crust! Surprisingly it was pretty good too! Although it had a kick of spiciness to it! Overall, I don't think this will be one of our regular pizza places to go to. It was good enough to try out, and that's pretty much it.

I have consumed more pIzza in my lifetime than probably 99% of people, so I know good pizza. Unfortunately this place with potential doesn't live up to it, due to, 1 skimping on ingredients in particular cheese and sauce on the Queens pizza. 2 crust is doughy. With the wood burning oven and correct water content in dough this shouldn't happen. At price point of $13 they don't have to skimp. The service was good. I suggest the cooks take a trip to coalfire in Chicago and slyce in wauconda to see what the competition that has it right, does.

I had driven by, walked by and wondered about this pizza place. This time I parked, walked in and wondered no more. What a pleasant bar/restaurant to have a very good pizza! I ordered the pizza with prosciutto--it's NY (you know, that area where the Lightning got the best of the Rangers only to get disappointed here) style, wood oven. The crust was thin with some slight doughy softness once biting into the crisp edges (as it should). The meats including the prosciutto were great quality with great taste--the tang and saltiness mixed very nicely with the other spiced meats. The greens were garden fresh and a fine compliment to the meats. Being solo for this meal, I sat at the bar. They've got a great quality HD screen, not overwhelming the place. (The Hawks celebration was crystal clear.) Looking at the menu with good-looking salads and other items to surround a pizza, it very easily makes the pizza stop spot list. Added kudos: gluten free dough! Bravo!

If I could give this place zero stars, I would. I was feeling benevolent tonight and thought we'd give this place another try. We should have walked out right away. There were at least five empty tables on the main floor, but one of the hostesses insisted on going to see what was available in the basement. When she wasn't back after five minutes, a second hostess went downstairs and came back up a few minutes later. She seated us down there. A server took our drink order (water and a beer). When she brought the drinks, we asked for a few more minutes to read the menu. After twenty minutes, we threw five dollars on the table and walked out. Realistically, we should have stiffed her and made her pay for the beer out of her tips. But it's not like she didn't see us. She went back and forth to another table at least 10 times. And when we walked out? We walked right past her, and she didn't say a word. I'm done. This place sucks.

Wood fired pizza at its best. I can't help but say yes to anyone offering me a Sparky and an Old Fashion.

This is a welcome addition the neighborhood although has some kinks to work out. The pizza is very good although be aware if you create your own they tend to be severely overpriced. The service is fairly weak and could defiantly stand some improvement. The establishment is cute although lacks much character or identity. Salads were overdressed but fresh. Overall this restaurant didn't leave much of an impression with me to be honest. But perhaps if they upgrade the wine list and improve the service they could come around and compete with other establishments in libertyville.

We had a reservation for a party of 10 on a Friday night. The original reservation was for 8, and we called that same day to ask if we could add two more to our party. We were first told no and then told we could be seated downstairs, but in the end we were seated upstairs. We were a bit cramped, especially when our food arrived! Little things to know. You need to ask for water if you want it, which I personally appreciate. Sodas come in a can and you are charged per can, which I do not like. My husband liked the beer selection and I saw a milk stout that I liked as well. The wine list is accessible meaning you don't have to be a wine snob to find something you like. We ordered the Maaaa Pie, Smokin' Jersey Q, Margherita, Cheese, and Sunnyside along with a large salad and an antipasti. The antipasti - three cheeses, three types of roasted veggies, three meats. I wish the cheeses and meats were labeled. Everything was delicious, but I don't think I would order it again. The cheeses were the tiniest little cubes ever. The overall portions were smaller than what I would've expected. The salad was delicious. The dressing was a little sweet but the large salad was enough to share as a side between five adults. For the life of me I cannot remember which one it was. The pizzas!! The crusts were thin, a great combination of crunchy and chewy. We had five adults, one high schooler, and four middle school boys. The ten of us left only 4 pieces to give you a sense of portions. Our favorites? Everything but the cheese and Margherita. The cheese was OK, but necessary for certain palates. The Margherita was OK. I actually prefer a different local pizzeria for that one. The Maaaa Pie and Sunnyside were delicious, and I never had the chance to try the Smokin Jersey Q which was gobbled up by two boys in our group. The kitchen is still working on timing - the salad arrived after our pizzas, and I think the waitstaff are also learning to work together. Plates, etc. could have been cleared quicker to add some space to an already cramped table, but our server was friendly and attentive. Welcome to Libertyville Pizzeria Deville! We can't wait for lunch hours, too!

Salads!!!!! I come for the salads. Ambience is casual, comfy, relaxed, and fun. The look of the huge arched, exposed wood ceilings is dramatic and welcoming. The best pizza in the area. Have tried so many of their delicious pizzas and they are all hand-crafted with thoughtfully chosen ingredients. It's a pizza joint with some flair and great flavor. But I enjoy the salads best. The spicy, delicious beet salad with hot pepper relish is amazing. The beets are so good!! The Chopped Deville Salad with chicken is excellent. The chopped salad has thick bacon, Gorgonzola cheese, juicy, tender chicken, and rigatoni pasta. Eat and enjoy with friends! This place is a great spot to enjoy wine, craft beer, food and friendship. Have fun at DeVille!!

Fantastic pizza place with a great staff. For thin-crust pizza, possibly the best I have ever eaten (not getting into Chicago vs New York conversation, they are different animals in my opinion). Possibly the best part was the appetizer, spicy buffalo chicken meatballs with a gorgonzola dipping sauce. It is like a cross between buffalo wings (with the flavor built in) and meatballs, just incredible and addicting. I then had the "My Favorite Pie" pizza, which included home made meatballs. Given the chicken meatballs, was planning on only eating about half but could not stop. It was the meatballs that were incredible, I just kept taking slice after slice to get the meatballs. Learned from the owner that they actually use the same meat Gibson's does and you can definitely taste it. Overall great and the service matched. All of the waiters were totally on top of things and the front of the house was run by the owner and his family, something you don't see every day.

Delicious and high quality pizza! Only downside was the jalapeños still had the seeds in it which was too hot for me. Other than that, I would definitely try this place again!

So originally I really loved this place. Now I'm annoyed. I walked in and the hostess and waitress were gossiping and slightly annoyed so I said hello and walked to my parents sitting at a table and I still wasn't greeted so I again said hello then flat out told them I should be greeted as a paying guest. Nope still nothing. The attitude from all wait staff is that they have something better to do than serve tables... This is a service industry and I should be treated as a guest and give a great experience -you go out for dinner for the experience and this was lacking. The buffalo nacho pizza was good but besides spicy lacked in all flavor. My mom got the MAAA PIE and the toppings (cheese included) only went about half way up the pizza so the crust and a half inch lower had no sauce/cheese/topping and was a waste. Also I wish they had draft beer. I don't want to pay 7.50 for a bottle of chicago brewed beer when I could go anywhere else and get it for 6 and it would be fresh on draft. -it's a hawks playoff game and it's only about 1/3 full here but we stopped by Mickey Finns and it was packed (not even standing room) and an hour and a half wait for a table ... Obviously they're doing something right and deville could take a lesson from them.

Love, love, LOVE this place. Awesome pizza, fair prices, great staff (Kelly is our favorite but I think the entire staff is truly great), comfortable atmosphere, and nice beer selection.. What more can you want from a pizza place? We especially love the Johnny Insalata and the Maaaa Pie, as well as the Sunday brunch pizza (the one with Brussels sprouts and bacon). Their Bloody Mary is one of the better I've had in the area (not sure if available all the time or only during Sunday brunch, and I'm not sure if they're doing brunch anymore since the last time we tried to go they were closed..? Anyway, this is a VERY welcome addition to downtown Libertyville for some solid pizza at a reasonable price.

Great addition to the Libertyville food scene the Pizzeria id located in the heart of libertyville across from the town hall. With it's lofty ceiling, whimsical lighting and industrial touches it's accessible and warm. The owner, ever outset greeted us at the door all smiles on this busy Saturday evening. The bar staff is efficient with drinks being stiff and delicious. They have a decent selection of craft beer as well which is always a plus in our book. Our food was really nice although not super special. I definitely give them credit for thinking outtside the box with a variety of bruschetta including bacon jam, fig and olive tapenad to name jst a few. Another item of interest was the spiy beet salad. Well balanced with a nice crunch from the walnuts. We ordered the pulled chicken pesto pizza s well as the bacon cesar pizza. Both delicious, but there was not enough bacon on the one and i couldn't even taste the pesto on the other. Our party of four thoroughly enjoyed our time and shall return often. Thank you !

Dinner started great. Cute place, seated promptly, good salad and appetizer (albeit slow). Then . . . we finally got our pizzas and they were BURNT. Not wood-fired burnt with a welcome char here and there; I am talking BURNT. (Will try to post a photo but not sure how.) I said to the waitress, "You do know these are burnt, right?" She nodded and said she'd talk to the kitchen. We took that to mean she'd fix it. Nooooooo. She never came back! We finally ate the not-burnt parts out of the middle (gross, I know, but we'd waited a loooong time and by then just wanted to eat and go home). Finally I asked for the check. Without apologizing, or questioning why we left much of our pizzas untouched, the waitress asked if we wanted them boxed up to go. I looked at her kind of surprised and she didn't bat an eye. Ugh. No one around us seemed to have burnt pizzas, and no online photos show burnt pizzas, so we clearly got unlucky. But for a restaurant to not fix it and to let us leave unhappy is the worst. I still tipped the waitress (15% instead of my usual 25%) but the whole ride home I kicked myself for it. Thinking 15% was still too much. Were so happy to eat here and now will steer clear. Sad.

We have been here a couple of times, and have had ok experiences. My family and I really like the food, and although the service has never been phenomenal, it has been decent. So I was excited to take my mom here for lunch last Saturday afternoon. She is not from Libertyville, and when she is here, she enjoys trying all of the great restaurants Libertyville has to offer. We arrived about 12:15, and we were the only table in the restaurant. The waitress was overly attentive to begin with, and we had to keep asking her to give us more time to decide, but then after about 5 minutes, and her fifth time at our table, she disappeared. I had to actually get up to find her to order our food. We ordered a spicy beet salad, fig jam bruschetta...I picked the Maa Pie and my mom picked the Prosciutto & Arugula Pizza. The food came out, and as always, it was good. We started on the salad and bruschetta, and shortly after the Maa Pie came out. We figured the other pizza was to follow shortly. After each starting our second piece and no sign of the waitress or activity in the kitchen, I started to worry. The waitress finally appeared, but didn't come to our table. I got up and met her at the bar. When I asked her about the second pizza, she looked at me like I had three heads. She looked at her notebook, then me, then said I never ordered it (which we know I did). I sat down, upset, and she disappeared. She came back a minute later and asked if we wanted the pizza now. We only had two slices left of the Maa Pie and we were finishing up, and the pizza she forgot had salad on top of it, so we didn't think it would be great if we took it to go, so I declined. She was then behind the bar with who I assume is the manager. Neither of them said they were sorry or acknowledged the mistake. In fact, they then ignored us to the point were I had to get up and ask for the bill, when they were easily 10 feet away. They charged us for everything, didn't discount for their mistake, and both treated us with disrespect...and we were the only table in the restaurant the entire time! My mom said next time she'd rather go to Slyce. I would have to agree. A little bit of a longer drive, but she was disappointed she didn't get to try the pizza she wanted because of their mistake, and then felt bad because they were rude about it. Not worth the $55 we spent at all, even with the food being good.

Couldn't have been more disappointed. Our waitress took our orders and came back 10 minutes later saying the pizza was about half done but she had to clarify what one of the pizzas had. Then about an hour later two tables who arrived maybe 20-30 minutes after us got their pizzas. 10 minutes later we got ours. The pizzas were as lackluster as the service. Drenched in olive oil I wasn't sure whether or not BP made my pizza. Also the crust was comparable to leather. In the end $81 for bad service and bad food was painful. If I were you I'd save your time and order papa johns because it's cheaper and better and they won't add things you don't order to it.

I love this place. Get the big deville salad, it's so good. The pizzas cook in no joke less than 2 minutes. A little on the expensive side but it's worth it

Mixed thoughts on this new place. On the Pro - Attractive location and setting, tasty smoky crust with the right amount of char. Good selection of appetizers and tasty variety of ingredients for a nice gourmet pie. Nice break from the typical "lasagna on toast" that makes up a lot of Chicago area pizza. On the Con - pretty expensive for what you get. Ordered a sausage pizza that was $3 more than the standard tomato and cheese base. This generated about 2 small pieces of crumbled sausage per slice. Given the re-built location and the stylized menu - I know the owner needs to make a profit, but this was very poor value. Libertyville offers many upscale dining places - but this is not River North or some tourist trap that can sucker people into paying $15 for a mid-sized pizza that is not that filling. Recommend - taste great / but not that filling. A little more sauce, cheese and ingredients would go a long way.

Great pizza here! My favorite pizza is the My Favorite Pie. The crust is delectable I could eat that for every meal. Great atmosphere ate this place. Also they have salads for those people who don't like pizza but who doesn't like pizza.

I went there for a mid-afternoon lunch for the first time with my 5-yr old. Pros: clean, hip, live atmosphere without the need to go over the top. Good tasting pizza. Awesome $8 eggplant parm sandwich on two mini loaves. Great portion & taste. Quite tasty salad. Cons: overpriced drinks. $2.50 for a small plastic cup kid lemonade. $4 for a bottle of BUD and $6 for a bottle of 'craft / import'. I would see those prices at a...Firkin-type place but not at a pizza joint. Thus, I only ordered one beer. Nice wait staff & hostess. I counted up to 12 workers in total so they were overstaffed.

This review is based on take out experience only. Lady at register was nice. The restaurant is much bigger than it looks from the outside. The pizza, bowever, ew. I would rather eat a $3 frozen Jack's pizza from the grocery store. It's probably the worst tasting pizza I have ever had. That pizza was talking to me all night long. I'll never go there again. Maybe they have other food that's good. Who knows. But gross pizza!

We were going to try this place out, had a Party of 7 people with us... but were turned away at the door. Like a typical New Yorker...the owner has Posted a "No Conceal Carry" sign by the front door. Why do people from New York, a place that was a huge part of the Birth of this great Nation, not understand their Constitutional Rights? Any place that does not respect our Constitutional Rights is not worth visiting and spending our money at...we went to Lou Malnati's. They have an American Flag flying out front and no oppressive NYC Style "No Conceal Carry" signs. John, look around, you are in "Libertyville" IL. and understand that you are not in New York, the land of Michael Bloomberg.

Not a big fan of the take-out I ordered from here a couple of weeks ago. The pizza was chewy and not very flavorful, and I felt like the salads were skimpy on the toppings.

I would rate it 3 and a half stars if I could. The place is nice and I enjoyed the environment outside of the fact that for whatever reason the place seemed very family friendly ie. lots of little kids. The beer menu had a nice selection of what I will call craft beers. We had a salad, the large, it was big enough for four, we were only two but that wasn't a problem. The pizza was good but not great IMO. The crust needs to be a little thicker to hold the toppings. Way to thin at the center of the pizza, pretty much had to just fold my slices up. It's a little pricey but it is downtown libertyville so that wasn't a shock. It's not your average pizza, I do love the stone oven style, but I won't be racing back.

Last night my boyfriend and I went for our first time on a Sunday evening. The waitress was super helpful for it being our first time, she explained the menu very well. I alerted her that I am gluten free and the GF pizza dough was good. It wasn't burnt and dry, it wasn't wet and dough - it was a good balance and I didn't get sick. It was a tad pricey for pizzas, but it makes sense because they're different that your usual sausage and onion and they're wood fired pizzas. It's a nice break for the routine pizza. We'll be coming back.

Finally a place that makes pizza a destination in Libertyville. You can tell they care about the quality. Fresh ingredients and great crust. Great place to take the family and good that they take reservations for parties of 5 or more. Love the atmosphere here.

We have been back three times since my first review. It's definitely our go to Pizza place. The kitchen is dedicated. I like eating at the bar best, or take out. Hope to see local draft craft beers someday.

First impression is just ok plus went home smelling like we attended a bonfire. Went in last night and ordered a classic margherita pizza as this pizza is very telling if not done correctly . Crust was very good but the mozzeralla was melted beyond recognition. This type of pizza should be cooked quickly enough that those beautiful white buffalo mozzarella squares should still be visible. This pizza was not that way. Basil was very sparse so the taste was not the margherita experience but rather good crust. I agree with some others that more napkins are needed. Wait staff was great but front desk girl wouldn't let us sit at the table we wanted even though it was early. Her response should have been, " of course , let me get someone to wipe the table down". Her attitude was snotty and a total turnoff. It's a pizza place folks... Not a Michelin starred restaurant . Final bill was a bit scary at 62 bucks ( including tip) for a split salad, one glass of cheapest cab wine, one coke and two small pizzas. I'm having really mixed feelings about this place.

We were so very excited about a new specialty pizza place in town...and so very disappointed with our experience. 1) if eating downstairs, be prepared to feel as if you are eating in your neighbors finished basement. No music, no ambience, not even some wall art or panels to absorb sound. 2) the service was poor even for the young staff working there. We waited 10 minutes for a bottled beer, ordered bruschetta as an appetizer and 20 minutes later asked what happened. The server blamed the kitchen but turned up with our bruschetta within 2 minutes of running upstairs. 3) the prices are not in line with food quality. $2.50 per piece of bruschetta- really a slice of toasted French bread with crumbles of cheese or a fig jam spread on. There is no combination cheese pizza, so to do this it was $18 for a 3 cheese pizza. There was lots of crust on the pizza (tasty and traditional crust, fluffy and light), almost more than should have been. I asked for a side of pizza sauce as there was little on the actual pizza. The server was gone again for over 5 minutes and returned to ask if I wanted it hot or cold. Yes, hot please to go with my now cooling pizza! We got the bill and found this tiny ramekin of pizza sauce cost $2.50!!! HERE ARE THE PLUSES: the pizza is good. Not amazing, but better than most around lake county. The owner was working the room and seemed interested. Too bad we didn't see him on our sad way out. Out of 5: Pizza 4 Appetizer: 2 Basement atmosphere: 0 Service: 2 Cost to quality: 3

I wasn't craving pizza, but my boyfriend really wanted to try this place out so we gave it a try. I decided to try the Lupe Staff Taco's only for the waiter to tell me that they were out. I looked the menu over again and went with the Drunken Pork flatbread sandwich. He returned a few minutes later to tell me that they did not have that either. So now, I was onto my 3rd choice and decided to just go with pizza. As many other reviewers have experienced, my crust had multiple burnt sections. My boyfriend was frustrated for me and asked to talk to the manager. He explained what happened and the manager's exact words were, "well we don't offer discounts just because we are out of something. The menu is being updated so those items will be off the menu soon." I have served before and that goes against the policy of each place I have worked. My two star vote reflect the following: -1 star for the parts of the pizza that were not burnt. They were tasty. -Another star for our server who was very helpful and seemed like a great kid. Looks like we will stick to Jetts and Mickey Finns.

I happen to come across this place while walking to a different restaurant in Libertyville. I got curious and checked out the menu. Upon learning that they do wood fire oven baked pizza, my curiosity and interest increased. So recently, I made a point to check it out with my family. We had Maaaa Pie, My Favorite Pie and build your own pizza (Arrabiatta sauce w/ Jalapenos and Garlic). They were all darn good and delicious. We all liked them. What a pleasant surprise?! I wouldn't go by the negative reviews about the pizza here. These pizzas were absolutely tasty, properly baked (not charred or overdone but just the right amount of crisp to dough ratio in the crust) and good portion size for two - three people. Maaa Pie is very interesting pizza that has spicy fig jam, pistachios, goat cheese, EVOO. It was delicious. My favorites were the Arrabiatta sauce one and My Favorite Pie w/ shaved meatballs, Pecorino, Basil etc. Superb taste that satisfied by cravings and hitting the spot. We also tried their Bruschetta which was okay. It was not the traditional kind like you find at a proper Italian restaurant. Kinda underwhelming for me. Service was good. Our server was friendly and so were the hostesses. We didn't have any issues. It is slightly on the pricey side (somewhat comparable to places in Chicago) which was sort of surprising (check out Slyce in Wacounda. Good price point) given that it's not a trendy or a high end place but I guess being in Libertyville and making premium pizza in a wood fired oven makes it pricey? One thing I didn't like is that they don't have fountain soda. They only serve soda in a can and root beer in a bottle. I liked the atmosphere, set up and decor if the restaurant. It's kinda rustic, kinda modern. I give it 3.5 stars (rounding up to 4). Do check this place out. Definitely recommended.

Semi new-ish pizza joint in L-ville. Of, course, will start with the pizza. In a word, it's amazing. Lots of interesting toppings and good recommended pizzas. The Smokin Jersey Q is seriously awesome. Pizza is your typical wood-fired type...like Slyce in Wacounda. Crust is amazing, sauce is good, and toppings are premium. Decor is good, even if seating is a bit cramped. Sort of a lumber/woodworking vibe. I heard there's a downstairs seating area, but I haven't sat down there. There are a couple issues, though. Biggest thing for me is the lack of a soda gun/dispenser and lack of a draft system. That's right...canned pop and bottled beer. I know it's a new place and those type of systems are expensive and take time to get set up, so I'll add a star when/if this is added. Another star docked because the waitstaff hasn't been that great. It just seems like inexperience more than anything (asking how food is/trying to chat when food is in my mouth, asking to take plates/food early, and other types of those observation issues.) They're friendly and knowledgable of the menu, though. I'm still going to go here often because the food is amazing, but there are a couple things that need fixing. I'll adjust review as needed. Definitely recommend it, though.

Pizza with panceta and brussel sprouts! Loved it. This is an unexpected find in Libertyville. Besides the pizza they have some great salads and really unique bruschetta offerings. Cool space too. I'll return for sure...can't wait to try some of their other pizzas.

Service folks look frantic. Pizzas are average for the price and size. It's wood burning so people flip out in reality the crust often burnt on edges. No veggie option on carryout plus several items won't be made to carry out. Basement is for the peasants it seems based on the wait staff. Overall, not worth the drive or another thought.

We are so glad to see Pizzeria Deville open! As transplants from NJ, we are almost always homesick for really good pizza. Pizzeria Deville fills this void for us. We loved what we ordered -- Maaaaa Pie and Smokin Jersey Q. Also enjoyed the antipasti trio. Well chosen wine list. Tried a Pinot Grigio and Montepulciano. Both were very good. We did wait quite a bit for our food. My best guess is that it took about 15 minutes for our antipasti and another 15 minutes for our pizza. But I am willing to give them a pass and chalk it up to "working out the kinks". We had a reservation for 5:30pm -- and there was already an hour wait for walk-ins. Can't wait to eat my way through the menu.

Unbelieveably good wood burning oven pizza. I told the owner that the Pizza Restaurant owners in Naples should come here to learn something. The owner is very good at this, very present, finishing the pizzas and interacting with the patrons. Have recommended it to everyone near, and far, if they come even close !

Hands down, the best thin crust NY style pizza I have had . . . well, maybe anywhere, including NY. Certainly the best in the Chicago area. The crust always has a nice (usually light) char on both the bottom and edges. It is crispy yet with some chew to it, and the flavor is great. You can tell they take great care with it, and it is integral to the flavor of the entire pie (instead of just a flavorless vehicle for the toppings). We are still working our way through the menu, but our fav so far is the Motorino Omaggio, with shaved brussels sprouts, bacon and a drizzle of balsamic reduction. It is an homage to the signature pizza at Motorino's in NYC. Also yummy is Maa Pie, with goat cheese, caramelized onions, pistachios, fontina cheese and other yum ingredients. Also try My Favorite Pie, with shaved meatballs, and Sparky, with house-made sausage ricotta and roasted veggies. I want to say that even pizzas with a long list of toppings, like Maa Pie, are very balanced - not overloaded or heavy. There is never too much of anything, so the crust is never soggy. A lot of thought and creativity have gone into these pizzas, and this place richly deserves to succeed and triumph. I am a pizza connoisseur, not a beer connoisseur - but they have a nice selection of beer, wine and alcohol. The service is friendly and pretty efficient - no problems experienced in 4-5 visits so far. They have plenty of other food on the menu and I am sure it is very good, but we go for the spectacular pizza.

Don't waste your time and money. Owner is a fake chef with no quality control and cares less about this restaurant. Our first time there was fine then next 2 times terrible. Our final and last experience was a carry out disaster and total ripoff! Almost 40 dollars for a single 4 cheese pizza and chicken ceaser salad that was so bad we threw it out. Pizza sucked and salad was missing everything. It was just a box of romaine lettuce with nothing else period. Check out the picture attached. I also sent these pictures to the owner who could care less. Called and left messages for the owner only to be ignored and never offered a refund. Hostess/manager who took my order acted like I was a bother placing the order and worse when I picked it up. Obviously operating a quality restaurant is not the owners priority as we have heard the same stories from other families in Libertyville.

Solid pizza option for the area. I love the effect that the wood burning oven has on the dough and the texture of the pizza. My husband got the Yankee and I got the one with Salami. I will say this, the pizza's are very high priced for the amount of toppings you get. I haven't dined in, so I can't speak about the service.

Will try again soon! My friend and I went out on a mini girls night out. I live in downtown Libertyville and she met me at my place and we walked until we settled on someplace. I suggested we check out Pizzeria Deville since it was new and we hadn't been there before. We got on the list and were told 45 minute wait. It was Friday night so that was reasonable for the area. We went and had cocktails at Chili U (see other review!). We headed back in time and were told they were clearing the table. All told it was about 55 minute wait on a Friday night. Having been to Mickey Finn's on a weekend (1.5 hour wait on average) I figure that's still reasonable for the area. We were seated and placed our orders. I really have to say they are super friendly and accommodating! The waitress was very nice and kept us updated throughout. I'd like to mention decor. It's...hmmmm shall we say indifferent? We sat near the windows. I noticed all the surfaces were hard and cream. Nothing was warm, no warm and fuzzes. No color. I really felt like I was in some sort of cafeteria or something. I get the impression it's a place that is a "easy to clean but don't relax here" type of place. Which is admirable. Everything was super clean I'll admit. However, it's not a girls night out or date night place. I could see bringing a group of pre-teens here or maybe new parents who want good food but are not caught up on sleep enough to go to a nicer place... Eh. Also everything was creme. I love neutrals and all that modern song and dance but jeez use brightly colored platters or colored candles or flowers or napkins... anything!!! Paint the north wall RED! Seriously. So like I said the waitress kept us updated. This is key since we ordered the margarita pizza and the variety bruschetta. Neither came for another 45 minutes and then all at once. The bruschetta was interesting. We had 2 #1's, 2 #7's, and 1# 2's. My friend didn't like any of them at all. I didn't like them much either but I found some redeeming quality in the flavor combinations. We were discussing and the owner walked by and asked how they were and we were open about it and mentioned we weren't too impressed. He took it of the bill and gave his apologies. We hadn't expected that at all but he offered right off the bat and it was very considerate. In terms of the bruschetta I recommended crispier bread, more tomatoes and even suggested to turn some of the flavor combinations (#2 in particular) into toasted flatbreads. The pizza got messed up (ie completely scrunched) and they offered an immediate replacement without cost before the damaged one even arrived to the table. The pizza was ok, nice texture on the crust, ok sauce (fresh?) could have used a tad more fresh mozzarella and had just the right amount of basil. I really commend the staff and owner for being so friendly and service oriented. I felt well taken care of and you got the impression they really care about their work and their food. That is really something that you don't get with a lot of restaurants! That being said, I found the wait way too long (for the reservation and the food itself especially) and I felt like the prices really didn't warrant the decor. Better said the decor doesn't warrant the food they are putting out. There is room to work with the decor/environment and the flavor combinations. I feel like it's a restaurant who still hasn't found itself but has a ton of potential. Either cafeteria style family place or upscale pizza you'd take a date or girls night out to. Right now I can't tell what direction it plans on taking but I will keep an eye and I'd defiantly consider going back because I think they will mature and I believe their outstanding customer service philosophy will help them find success.

Lets say there is the "real" pizza, the one with fairly thin crust lots of cheese, tomatoes and toppings like pepperoni or sausage. Different variations with thicker dough are out there, I can think of Lou Malnati's or Rosati's and of course Domino's, etc. Then there is the "gourmet pizza or artesian" - 90 seconds in a wood burning pizza oven, very thin, crusty and very little toppings (not overloaded) like ham, greens, chicken. DeVille's pizza is closer to the artesian BUT the dough is heavier and the crust on the side is also heavier and a bit chewy. So, in my opinion, if you want a "pizza" go to Lou M. or Rosati's, take it home and eat it. If you want to sit in a pretty nice place and enjoy a special pizza go to DeVille's. Since the dough is a bit heavier the ham (prosciutto) may get too well done or crusty so I will order something else, I agree get rid of the soda cans!

Good service but the pizza needs work. First thing I expected was to smell the pizza cooking in the wood oven. Unfortunately, it wasn't highlighted at all during my time at the restaurant. Ordered a margherita and pepperoni. A better mozzarella is needed. When I got to the crust of the pizza, it wasn't worth finishing, dry. There's definitely room for improvement, best of luck!

Word got around quickly and the wait last night was an hour at 5:30. The wait was worth it. We shared a Pride of the Yankees pizza and a Motorino Omaggio pizza. Motorino is brussel sprouts, bacon, cheese & balsamic reduction. It could use more brussel sprouts and the crust was charred. We saw the sprouts but couldn't taste them because there were so few. The Yankees pizza included sausage, caramelized onion, roasted red pepper, cheese and sauce. It was fabulous. All pizzas are cooked in a wood fire oven. The wine & beer list changes daily. This place has only been open for a few days and we were impressed. We were told that we saw a limited menu and more items will be added once the staff is comfortable with the basics. The service was cordial and attentive plus the food was very good. We've been to places that have been open years that didn't have the quality we just experienced. We will wait another month or so before going back but have already recommended it to many friends. (Maybe we should try to keep this place a secret. LOL) Looking forward to a return trip.

Went with the family to give this place another chance and it was much, much improved. The pizzas had way more toppings than the last time we were there. We had the Jersey Q, Yankee pizza and made 2 of our own. All were delicious!! We were all thrilled with our dinner from start to finish - from their great salads to pizzas and we will be back since we're happy the restaurant has taken note of suggestions and made improvements. Now I feel good recommending it!

We waited a few months until the hype died down on the place to try it. The apps were good but the pizza were mediocre. Our server didn't come by to refill our water, which was needed as the pizza was too salty. Too salty, and a lot larger than stated in the menu. Overall Slyce in Wauconda blows this place away. Go there for great service, and amazing pizza.

Amazing wood-fired pizza made with quality ingredients. We had one of each pepperoni, bbq, and meatball pies. We enjoyed the attention to detail in the design and layout of the Pizzeria Deville. Libertyville is fortunate to have entrepreneurs that are willing to invest in our Village and that are willing to bring new types of foods to the area for all of us to enjoy. We were happy with our pizza ( little charred) and our Johnny Insalata. It is a given that fresh bread and olive oil should be served on every table. We would suggest that Johnny D. take one more trip in his quest to find the Nirvana of authentic wood fire pizza and travel North to IL Ritrovo located in Sheboygan, WI.

Best pizza place ever!!! Get the margarita pizza and a Cesar salad and you are set. The crust is not the best but my oh my they have the best pizza you are going to get that is wood fired. Better than cpk or anything like that. Cute shops around there to go if the wait is long. Service is quick once it get seated. I reccomend going early and putting your name in and coming back if you have a family with hungry kids. But overall best pizza place ever!!!

Great experience! Food is gourmet type pizza (flatbreads) and the service was top notch. Love the serving style of different pizza / dishes on the different plate levels. Reasonably priced too. This place is a great addition to the Ville!

Sad.

First walking in it was a really nice place! The ambiance of it is just really welcoming and smells great! Love the wall decor and the firewood in the middle of the place. Pizza was great and waitress was really cool! Over great experience and recommend it!

Sad.

Great pizza here! My favorite pizza is the My Favorite Pie. The crust is delectable I could eat that for every meal. Great atmosphere ate this place. Also they have salads for those people who don't like pizza but who doesn't like pizza.

Not a big fan of the take-out I ordered from here a couple of weeks ago. The pizza was chewy and not very flavorful, and I felt like the salads were skimpy on the toppings.

Great pizza and salads! Ingredients are fresh and portion sizes are large. So nice to have interesting pizza options to choose from. Will be back soon!

Great pizza here! My favorite pizza is the My Favorite Pie. The crust is delectable I could eat that for every meal. Great atmosphere ate this place. Also they have salads for those people who don't like pizza but who doesn't like pizza.

Not a big fan of the take-out I ordered from here a couple of weeks ago. The pizza was chewy and not very flavorful, and I felt like the salads were skimpy on the toppings.
