Not sure how anyone could not love this place. Everything rocks. Cheeseburgers are great, beef sandwiches are only second to Big Al's in Chicago, frys awesome, salads superb, and the best chocolate cake in the world. Love it, love it, love it.

Definitely one of the better, faster Portillos in the Chicagoland area. This place sees a lot of traffic due to its location and has always seemed to staff itself with good, friendly people. The beefs here are always delicious and on-point. The ribs here are tender and succulent, the meat falls right off the bone with a tasty BBQ sauce to follow. They have a salad bar with unique salad selections, and more of a variety than most of the other Portillo locations. The only thing I HATE about this Portillos is the location itself. It's like a dead zone for Sprint data users. I know it's not their fault as a business but it still annoys me. Overall still a stellar Portillo location. Its worth marking on the map and stopping by.

Finally, here comes a review for my favorite hot dog..The Chilli Cheese Dog @ Portillo's. 10/10 everytime. Whats different about this location is the ambience, theme and the setup. This is the funkiest portillo ive been to till date. The staff was really sweet and skilled. I went there for lunch on a weekday and even though there were a lot of customers, they were very organized and quick.

Pretty good, just like what I've heard! A little on the pricey side, but definitely worth it in my opinion. The location I visited was like a 50's diner, which I loved. The whole atmosphere of the place reminded me a lot of The Varsity in Atlanta, actually. I had a burger with fries and a Coke. The burger was pretty good, although it was dripping with grease, which I really don't like. I also had a slice of their famous chocolate cake, which was fabulous. Very rich and moist. :)

So.....I hope I don't get burned at the stake for this because I realize Portillo is like a religion in Chicago....but......come on. There has to be a reason it is so popular I thought to myself. I have to try this!! I ordered the Italian beef with fries based on everyone's recommendation after telling them I was a newbie to Portillo's. I also ordered the Strawberry Shortcake for dessert. The Italian beef comes out wrapped in a waxy paper and has soaked all the way through with grease. Eeeek. I'm already turned off with what I'm about to put into my mouth, but let's try it. Ok, not bad....definitely has good taste. The bread, I cannot tell the quality off because it acted like a grease sponge and now resembles a wet mop. Gross. While as I mentioned the flavor was good, I don't think I could order this artery annihilator again. next, the fries. Are you kidding me here? They are the grocery store bought crinkle cut fries that they just drop in a fryer and call it a day. Were they good? I mean, sure...they are fries. Would I order them again? Hell no. next, the strawberry shortcake. Success! This thing was DELICIOUS. It was enormous. You could share this with someone for sure. I recommend getting this. The ambiance in there felt like a 50's or 60's diner which is what I believe they are going for so good job. The place was dirty (at least the location I visited) and smelled of grease which isn't surprising since I believe that is their main cooking tool. All in all, I'm glad I experienced this phenom of Chicago but I doubt I'll ever be back. Chicago can keep this. :)

Oh Portillos you kill me with your line!!!! Same great food, same long line every Portillos you go to!!! Ughhhh Awesome food and tonight I'm here for the famous chocolate cake =)

Maybe it's just me but I did not like this restaurant. In fact the only thing I liked regarding my order was the Strawberry Shortcake - now that was tasty. However I got the standard roast beef and it was dry and unflavored. I've had better at Zel's in NW Indiana. The line was shorter than I expected at the drive thru, so please don't be intimidated by it if you do decide to go here. However their roast beef makes me want to drive to Zel's.

Typical Portillo's Consistently good food. I think the italian beef is great but I also have gotten the ribs many times. Also great.

Once again phenomenal Chicago dogs. Portillos delivers every time. Service is quick - they are so efficient - and food is great. Whenever we are in Chicago "fix no. 1 " has to be Portillos!

This place by far and away is my absolute favorite fast food restaurant! The combo sandwich which is an Italian Roast Beef along with an Italian Sausage served on a hoagie roll with mustard and hot gardenia mix is the best sandwich bar none that I have ever experienced.. And THAT says a lot!! I also enjoyed strawberry shortcake as well which was also very yummy.... I will be back on every trip to the Chicago area and hope that sometime they will expand into Michigan...

Love Portillo's - should go inside though as to not sit in drive-thru too long. They really do try & move you along as quickly as they can though.

Stopped at portillos tonight on the way home from Oak Brook so my husband could pick up a hot dog. We take our place in the enormous drive through line, and, without having the benefit of even approaching a menu yet, we have to decide what to order when a lady with a headset walks up to our car. My husband orders his hot dog and then, knowing I'm the perfectly inconvenient combination of vegetarian, pregnant and hungry, asks the lady, "Do you have a veggie burger?" "No. Sorry. Just regular burgers." "How about a veggie dog?" My husband asks, hopefully. I am both surprised and delighted with the unexpected "yes" we get in response. So surprised, I asked again. Maybe she misheard him. Portillos has never carried veggie dogs on my previous visits. "You guys have veggie dogs now? Veggie dogs but not veggie burgers?" "Yea that's right," she says. "Great- can I get it Chicago style?" "Sure," she says. Exceptionally pleased with this new Portillo's vegetarian friendly development, I collect my drive through bag, drive home smelling my delicious hot dog, and vow to return again soon. At home, barely able to contain my excitement as I tear open the hotdog box, I am greeted by a bun containing ketchup, a pickle, sport peppers and onions. But no effing hot dog. Just bread and condiments. Seriously. Portillos, is this your idea of some kind of sick joke on starving, pregnant vegetarians? I can't believe I actually paid for that thing. THAT is your "veggie dog?" Come the F on. And what the hell kind of training do your employees go through if they are telling people you have veggie dogs when they obviously mean condiments on bread with no disclaimer?! There's really no excuse. It's 2015 in an upper middle class suburb of Chicago. Everybody knows what someone means when they ask for a "veggie dog." This is not rural Alabama in 1992 when and where the mistake could be forgiveable. Portillos, I request that you please start carrying veggie dogs, or in the VERY least, make sure your employees are not lying to customers about the food you don't carry. P.s. My husband also found a long, black hair in his hot dog box. All in all, a very disappointing experience.

Portillos!!!! It has food options that will please a family with a variety of taste buds. If you are looking for a classic Chicago italian beef or hotdog, portillos is your place. If you're not a fan of meat portillos offers different salads to choose from. My personal favorite order is a bacon cheese burger with the cheese fries. Sometimes i will get their fruit cup instead of the fries. The fruit cup has a great mix of fruit that goes well together. A lot of people like the chocolate cake shake but personally i think it is too rich. The orders can take long during busy hours but it us definitely worth the wait. My only complaint about this place is that there isn't one near my college campus.

I have been a patron of Portillos for twenty plus years. I love the food, speed of service, and the cleaniness of the restaurant. Recently, I have noticed that when I order the large fries it is only 3/4 full. This has happened on 5 or 6 straight ocassions. Portillos, why bother having two sizes on the menu when you give customers the smaller size anyways?

OMG, I can't believe I've never written a review! I've been going here for years! I guess because the business does so well there was really no need. What can I say Portillo's is always consistent and makes everything top notch. No matter what you get: a burger, beef, hotdog, polish, salad, shake, or cake - they are all five stars! In my personal opinion, they make the best of each item listed above. When the new owners took over, I vowed I would be out if they changed ONE thing which they have yet to do. Cross fingers. That's the best thing Portillo's has going for them, their consistency. Except, the themed restaurants! (wink, wink) BTW, the 50's theme at this one is my fav! I love sitting listening to the oldies! Customer service is always great and the restaurant is always clean. My fav - I would be here every week if there was no such thing as weight gain!

Let me begin by saying I love Portillo's, they have great food from their Beef Sandwiches, Italian Sausages, Cheeseburgers, Tamales, etc. The reason that this review is giving them a 3 star rating is based on the service levels that I get at this particular location. I "try" to give places the benefit of the doubt and accept that there are going to be off days with them, but unfortunately the below average service at this location has become fairly consistent. The most recent (and final straw for me) was the last time I went here. They managed to lose my order (and 2 other peoples next to me). We had to wait for a manager who they as opposed to apologizing for their mistake decided to blame customers for the issue. There was no apology or attempt to better the situation at all. Very poor management and customer service. As I said I do love Portillo's and that feeling made me give them an Average score of 3 even though the service does NOT deserve that rating. I will continue to eat Portillo's, but I will not frequent this location anymore. The good thing about being in this area of Chicagoland is there are about 7 other Portillo's within a 10 minute drive from here.

Came here today with my son and went through the drive thru. Food was over priced as usual, but good. But the workers in the drive thru by where you get your food were talking about selling drugs! Really... save that conversation for else where.

A must try when in Chicago....italian beef or chicago dog...can't miss. Portillo's has several locations throughout Chicago. They cater and ship anywhere in the USA.

When you leave Chicago, you will continue to pine for the amazingness that is "Portillos." My buddies send me a big box of Portillo's Beef a few times a year and it still doesn't make up for the absolute excellence Portillos can be. The Beef/Sausage Combo with Sweet Peppers is my "go to," but the hot dog is excellent and the Double Cheeseburger with bacon is a surprise classic. Would say it's one of the top fast food burgers I've ever eaten in my life. Miss it, and wish they would open one of these in South Florida.

WOW!!! I am very, very picky about hot dogs. I am from the south and my boyfriend took me back to where he grew up and told me I MUST try this place. I got the jumbo dog and fries...... It was so good! I have been craving this place for almost a week now. The service was great and fast. The staff was very friendly and the store was clean and organized. I wish I could give them more than five stars. If you ever drive by a Portillo's; it's a must try!!!

BIG BEEF with peppers, dipped! A couple of those and the party is started. A friend of mine had beef's delivered to his Cali wedding for his West Coast side that wasn't lucky enough to live in the Shy. And an Atlanta buddy drives to see his family here and when he drives back he's stocked his cooler with beef. I'm glad I don't live or work close to here or else I'd gain too much weight eating their chocolate cake and/or run the risk of getting tired of Portillo's. I subtracted a star because they need a Barnelli's attached.

When I think Chicago, I think Portillo's. It is always my first stop when I come back from a trip. This place is unmatched when it comes to so many things. Their hot dogs are dominant, beefs are delicious, cheese fries are the best in the world, chocolate cake is unstoppable, phenomenal ribs, and to top it all off, this fast food restaurant serves cold draft beer! The decor in every Portillo's is so interesting. It makes you feel like you're back in an old fashioned hot dog joint with the oldies playing in the background. I swear, this place has drive through down to a science. It is the busiest but fastest drive though I've ever experienced, bar none. Don't let the long lines fool you. It won't be that long of a wait. This place doesn't even need a long review, because it stands out as simply the best. If you haven't ever had Portillo's, you must be insane. What are you waiting for? Get there!

The only thing that sucks about Portillos is that there's not one close to my house. I guess that's not necessarily a downside because if there was, I'd be even wider than I already am. Portillos is seriously addicting, especially their italian beefs and their cheese fries. Yes, this is coming from a self proclaimed fry hater. On the rare occasion that I find fries I do like, I know they must be SUPER good cause most are blech to me. They have the perfect amount of crunch and salt that you'll find yourself mmmm'ing between every bite. What should you try? Well, anything on the menu really. Italian Beefs are my fave, but I also enjoy the cheeseburgers, chopped salads, hot dogs, milkshakes and fries. I've never heard any of my friends or co-workers order something and say "well that kinda sucked." Seriously, you'll be fine no matter what you choose. This location is cray though. In theory, it's about 8 minutes from my work. Ask me if I can really get there and back in less than 30 though. Nope, not gonna happen. The drive-thru is always wrapped around the building and the line is just as long inside. They do a great job of dealing with the amount of traffic, but if you're in a hurry - you probably want to skip it. If you're in the mood for some greasy, fast food deliciousness, don't hesitate to go to Portillos.

Have you ever loved a food so much that you couldn't imagine life without it? That's how this reviewer feels about his local Portillos. To any outsider of the Chicago area, its really hard to describe Portillos and how it matches up with other food joints. The three main things you have to consider when rating a restaurant is; Food, Service, and sanitation. Reasons such as these are why I have to award Portillos my 5 star review and why every outsider must taste this stand out restaurant. Portillos food really stands out compared to most places. This time I ordered Italian beef, large fry, and a small cake shake. The beef was made to perfection. It was juicy, bread was crispy and warm, and the beef itself had just an overall great taste when it hit your tastebuds. The fries are amazing crinkle cut fries that are always served warm and quite salty. But the cake shake is so original nothing compares to it. Imagine the best chocolate cake you have ever had, spun into a vanilla shake. The results are out of this world. Every sip you get nice flaky pieces of the cake. The shake alone is filling enough for a meal. But nothing would be good tasting if it wasn't for the amazing service and the speed. I actually worked for almost a year at this specific location, so I know what I'm talking about. Portillos strives to be quick, nice and efficient. If you ever go there, you will most likely notice a huge line inside and an even bigger line of over 30 cars in the drive through, yet your meal is out in minutes. The reason that happens is because the workers strive to not get behind, and the system Portillos works with, never fails. Not only are they quick, but they are friendly as well. As an ex employee, the reason we are so nice is because the pay is nice. Portillos knows, the better the pay, the better the service, the better the quality. They make customers feel important as soon as there order begins. Last but not least is the overall sanitation. My good friend Julian, works there as a "Patio Boy". Which is fancy terms for bus boy. He and all the other patio workers are in charge of cleaning all the tables, chairs and bathrooms. The patio workers, specifically at the Elmhurst location are extremely quick when it comes to tables. If you have never been to Portillos, go in on a Saturday afternoon, and you will see how quick the employees have to work to keep up with high demands. Even while being busy the whole time, they still manage to make sure the bathrooms are very nice and tidy. So as you can see, Portillos is a one and only kind of place. There really isn't any place like it. For almost all college students who go out of state, they will most likely say they miss Portillos more than there own family, and there are many reasons why. The food you literally can not beat from the array of choices. They cater to such a wide variety you will most likely find something you want. Burgers, beefs, hotdogs, ribs, salads, chicken, they really do have a wide variety. But it isn't always about food. Unlike some of the Portillos, the Elmhurst location really does get 5 stars in all categories. There food of course gets 5, there speed and service id give a 4.5, and sanitation would get a solid 5. Overall a great family and friends place that most everyone has to try.

Having moved out of the area 3 years ago, we were looking forward to eating at our favorite Portillo's. It was a huge disappointment from service to the food. My husband ordered 2 chilli dogs, I ordered a dry Italian beef with cheese, and our granddaughter ordered a cheeseburger along with 2 orders of fries, 1 coleslaw order, and a slice of the chocolate cake. When we received the food, my Italian beef was a soggy wet mess. My husband's hot dogs were put in the bag on end so everything rolled off the dog. Everything that is except the chilli which they forgot! By the time we got what we needed it took us 4 trips. When we asked staff for directions or wanted something, they acted unfriendly, as if we were bothering them! And the chocolate cake was not at all like it used to be! What a total disappointment!! It was way overpriced & the quality & service have gone way downhill.

I seem to be a kind of go-to person when something dire happens, is about to happen, or has happened. How does this relate to Portillo's? Can there be drama at Portillo's? It does and there is. On the happy return home from the hospital of my godson and at the 11th hour, I headed out in my trusty SUV (that for these events should be equipped with some sort of blinking strobe) to the local Portillo's to obtain for this child who had not eaten more than an IV for a week: a out of this world, better than great, one of a kind, Portillo's chocolate cake shake. Did I scare everyone at Portillo's? Is Tony Soprano Italian? Let's just say I was very direct. :-) The young guy who took my order, with a straw sticking out of his knit cap, was very nice. I explained the urgency of the shake in question. Not only was he polite, but he got on the horn and relayed the mess-age. Portillo's gets 5 stars from me even though the girl on "the horn" sort of blew off my request. My order taker passed me on to "Cody", the young guy running back and forth between the order taker and the delivery window. Again, I explained and told him I would "hold up the line for the most perfect shake until the cows came home". He said no worries: his girlfriend is the ultimate shake maker! Good for me: and probably good for him too. Having been reassured by Cody that all would be great, I eased on up, even as the crowd behind me gathered. Waiting with my godson's 5 star shake was "Cody's girlfriend" who admitted the 1st shake was a bust: but the one in her hand was fabulous. On the pressure of making the night of a little kid, who could have doubled for the kid in Jerry Maguire, I thanked them all profusely and headed on the double to said kid. Not only was it the shake of shakes, but had they held a contest for going above and beyond, my 3 serving attendants would have made out big. Awesome!

I love Portillos when it's good. But today I just got fries and a chocolate shake. Hopefully the shake will be good when it melts enough that I can taste it. The fries are perfection when you get them from a first-fried batch. Sadly, I didn't. Mine were chewy, strangely textured, and disappointing. Why even bother double frying? It's disgusting!

I grew up in Addison, where there was always a Portillo's. But, I like coming to this one in particular because it just runs so much more efficiently than the others. And, I have been to the one downtown, Forest Park, Downers Grove, Northlake, Bloomingdale and Schaumburg plus probably a few I have forgotten. It is clean, fast and always correct. I adore the breaded chicken sandwich, the crinkle fries and the shakes. I do miss the lemon cake, though. That was my favorite.

Second time eating at Portillos, first time at this location. Had the Portillo's dog ( traditional Chicago style) and the Italian beef sandwich. Both were delicious! Good food, quick and affordable.

The catering department was patient, knowledgeable and very kind. My needs were met; they did a follow up call because I was a little late picking up my pans of delicious food; I even got a follow up call the day after my event. How cool is that? Would I recommend them, YES! Would I use them for my catering needs, DEFINITELY!

Ordered: Italian Beef sandwich, Hotdog, small fries Ambiance: Diner vibe with neon lights, how fun! The drive through was packed when we walked in but we saw multiple staff members walking up and down taking orders to speed the process up, kudos! The service inside was friendly and very efficient, definitely faster than the people waiting outside in their cars. Food: Man these are some of the tastiest dogs/sandwiches I've had in a while! The italian beef was filled with delicious tender savory beef that falls apart in your mouth. We got ours topped with peppers which were very flavorful and matched the sandwich perfectly. Definitely get the gravy (au jus) on the side and dip it as you eat so your sandwich doesn't melt in your hands. The sandwich is a little dry without it and the tanginess brings out the flavors ten-fold. The dog was super tasty as well with excellent layering of flavors, I got some heat from the peppers then the sweet from the relish then the savoriness of the dog which was a very fun layered experience. The fries flavor-wise were nothing to write home about but they were admittedly fried to perfection with an enjoyable crunch but soft center. I would highly recommend a visit here if you get the chance, I had never tried a chicago dog place and couldn't be happier to 'pop my cherry' at this one :)

I have been going to Portillo's since he first opened the little hot dog stand in Villa Park on North Ave. in Villa Park. Simply said "the best". The Italian Beefs may just be the best I have tasted over the years. Salads also are outstanding. If this is the food you have a taste for, this should be your first stop......enjoy!

Feed me please. Best fries, great burgers, oh the beef! The only beef I ever enjoy. All others are just a comparable like " oh that was almost as good as Portillo's" or "that wasn't even close". I get mine, dipped with hot and sweet, y'all know what I mean. If you don't I will give you the brief Chicago run down on the beef ordering speak: Hot, refers to peppers or gardinier really. Sweet refers to sweet green peppers. Dipped means they take the whole sandwich and dip it in au jus. Wet means, well they wet it with the au jus. Dry, you get the picture, no au jus! May I recommend for the first timer: sweet and wet. The drive thru guys like it if you say it in a sultry voice. mmm Beef, sweet and wet..... The drive thru rocks like a precision machine. I have been known to order a whole chocolate cake for parties in a pinch. Plate it up and take credit for the glory, hallelujah!

Oh man I love the Italian Beef here. I get Portillo's every time I visit Chicago, and anytime I try an Italian Beef elsewhere this is what I compare it to (and it always falls short). I'm sure they have good hot dogs, salads, etc. - but I feel compelled to order the beef every time I visit. I always get mine dipped (which means dunked in the au jus) and topped with sweet or hot peppers (depending on my mood). I usually get a side of fries or onion rings - but if I had to choose the onion rings would win. They're really fast - either drive thru or inside, so don't fear the long line that often wraps around this place. Finally - if you really want to indulge, the chocolate cake shake actually includes a big piece of cake blended into your milkshake and is delicious!

When I visit Chicago, we go to Portillos, every time great food and great service. Took my family in to this Portillos on elmhurst, first time at that location. ordered food and usually ready when I get down to end of counter. Not this place. I waited 15 minutes, and they screwed up my order. Ordered cheese fries and no cheese. Onion rings were over cooked, fries were rubbery, combo was an Italian beef and food was not even close to standards. I hope this place is not representative of the other Portillos but I won't be eating at this one. Spent over $47 on food not even worth to be on McDonalds menu.

Overpriced fast food. Fries were soggy. Their salad was less than appetizing. Hard to find seats.

Hadn't been here in years since my childhood and it was as good as I remember. The hot dogs are so plump and full of toppings, all for a reasonable price. I can never decide between the Italian sausage with the hot peppers, or Italian beef. I found the Italian beef slightly dry but full of meat and great flavor. Lots of great salads and sides too.

Disappointing. And this may be my first one-star review - sorry, my second. Not going to review the regular food items because those do not really vary from location to location in my opinion when it comes to Portillo's. This is for the other stuff. Annoying parking lot and hard to get in and out of. We came in tonight for dessert only. Shakes. And maybe cake. Chocolate cake shake was a little weird, not gonna lie. I was hoping for greatness and it was just not that good. The wait was obnoxious, too - though we did not have the same issues as the people we came in with but we did wait for a while to get our order. And the place did not appear to be that busy. Our friends ordered immediately after I did and after almost 15 minutes of waiting, they still had not received their order, though we had. They were told that the cake needed to be cut for the shake. What? Really? Is there some sort of secret ceremony that must be observed in cutting the cake that makes something as ordinary as throwing the crumbs and some frosting into some ice cream take an extraordinary amount of time? And then to go back and complain about our friends when they asked for their money back? Not cool. I could have looked past the meh-ness of the shake before all that - needless to say, this is not a location we will be visiting again. Never had an issue like that at the North Avenue Villa Park location so I guess we'll be going there in the future. Proper customer service is not really that hard.

If you like Chicago style food, you'll love Portillo's. Portillo's has to be the biggest hot dog chain in the greater Chicago area, and for good reason. Service is quick, even during the busy periods. They'll send people out among the lines and start taking your order. Food is top notch, dogs, burgers, beefs, sausage, chili and salads, this place has it all. I come here for either the hot dogs or the beefs, both which are excellent. Hot dogs topped with everything but the kitchen sink and beefs all soggy with au jus and livened up with their hot giardinaire. Fries are crinkle cut rather than fresh cut, but just top it with that warm cheeze whiz stuff and you'll do fine. Unlike some Portillo's, this establishment does not serve beer. Soda or a milk shake will have to do. Took one star away for small parking and cramped interior. No biggie but an inconvenience nontheless.

Portillos is a right of passage for those in the Chicagoland area. Chocolate cake, Maxwell Street Polish dogs, cobb salads, and chocolate cake shakes are all fantastic! If you have friends and family visiting from out of town, Portillos is a must! This particular location is nice and has very friendly associates. Highly recommended!

Didn't have much time in Chicago but locals all mentioned portillos. Not a huge fan of pickles and tomatos on my dogs but it worked. Also tried the chili cheese dog which was real tasty. The drive thru line was long so we went inside and the service was extremely fast. Will go back when we return to the windy city.

I've been obsessed with Portillos since I was a child. If you are in the Chicagoland area YOU MUST GO!!!! The Italian Beef with giardiniera is some of the best you'll find. The french bread is fresh and the beef is moist and tender. I love it so much I often take a vacuum packed pound or two back to Indy for a Bears game. Tip - you can also have it shipped to you :-) Another favorite is the cheeseburger. It's charbroiled to perfection, topped with lettuce tomatoes, mayo, ect . .. I love the thick pickles that adorn the burger. What could give you more artery clogging deliciousness? Cheesefries!! I'm not sure where this liquid cheese comes from, but it's heavenly. Paired with perfectly crisp fries you'll be swooning for more. Another solid choice is the chopped salad. What could make Portillos better? A location in Indianapolis!

Whenever I go back to Chicago, I always try to eat at this Portillos. Although it's a chain, this is the first Portillos I visited as a young child. If I had to pick my last meal, it would be an Italian beef!

I'm pretty sure their chopped salads are the healthy person's equivalent to crack. So addicting and even when you're eating it you still want more, more and more. I am not a healthy eater and I dream of chopped salads. Their cheese fries and Italian beefs rock my socks. The fries are outstanding every time, con queso o no con queso. The inside service is awesome. They are quick and so nice. The one downfall here is the parking / drive thru. It's always crazy busy and a mess. I suggest going in to get your food. It may make you feel better working off those extra few calories before you consume anything on their menu.

As far as Portillo's go, this one is middle of the road. The interior needs a once over. The worst part of this Portillo's is the entrance. Its impossible to get in and out onto 83 and its a major downside. The food is uniform to Portillos so you don't need any info on that unless you are the only person around Chicago who has never had Portillo's.

All I can say is, who doesn't love Portillo's? It's so good! Their chicken ceasar salad is always fresh and tastes great, their beef is delicious and so are their burgers. The best thing off the menu though is the cheese fries. I could eat those forever.

First food pit stop in Chicago. Wanted to eat a classic Chicago style hot dog so my sister took us here. This location had a 50s theme going on inside and out. When I walked in, I felt like I entered the mall food court with all these big menu signs everywhere. Ended up ordering the Jumbo Hot Dog, which I could have had 2 since it wasn't that big, but it was definitely satisfying. LOVED it! Also had the wavy fries. This hot dog didn't compare to the one I had at the Midway Airport last time. Although Chicago style hot dogs doesn't come with ketchup, you won't even notice because of all the other ingredients. My husband had the Italian Beef sandwich and it was the most meatiest sandwich I had! There's nothing in that sandwich except the meat! Looked very fulfilling. This place has a drive-thru too. If I lived here, I'd probably come here over a McDonalds.

This place is awesome! I have been a customer of Portillo's for a long time. The food is always delicious, hot and fresh! The restaurant is always busy, but they're always very quick with their food service. They are always courteous, and the order is always right, no matter how busy they are. A great place to eat, with one if the best Italian Beefs around! (Get the cheese fries - yum!)

Had a burger there recently; eh...not that great. Most of the time their burgers are a little to charred. Again, stick to what they do best...its the beef baby!

I grew up on Portillo's. Seriously. Wayyyyyy back when there was the one in Bolingbrook before they turned into 50's freak shows. (sorry it's the one thorn in my side- really a giant jukebox?) 1.) Order Italian Beef... Al's, Buona's etc doesn't compare. You are a fool if you don't order this and I want you to stop reading my review until you go have a taste test. 2.) Best freaking french fries. It might go without saying to get cheese fries and use some of the cheese on your beef?!?!? (No, it's totally different then a cheesy beef) 3.) I'm never more popular then when I bring a whole Portillo's chocolate cake to an event...it's also in their cake shake that I'm to afraid to order because then I'll have to keep ordering it. 4.) The dressing for their chopped salad is foolishly good. But the salad itself now freaks me out. I guess I should just ask for no chicken- LONG STORY. 5.) I don't drink soda but will make an exception about once or twice a year to drink their ROOTBEER. It's sooooooo good!!!!!!!! Service is always a well oiled machine. Food always fresh and hot.

I love this place. Portillo's has the best cheeseburger and the 50's decor is a great touch. I highly recommend the chocolate cake shake. Well worth the high calories.

Can't go wrong with Portillo's big beef sand which. I landed at the airport close to 7 pm and this was the first place I headed. This was the first time I had been to this location and was surprised to see it was set up looking like an old diner. Doesn't matter once I got my sand which I wasn't paying attention to the decor.

Oh Portillos, besides the thunder thighs you give me and the muffin top you create I love you. I love your sausage; your dogs; your chopped salad (No blue cheese on mine thank you) accompanied by the small but delicious poppy seed lemon muffin (that I always seem to forget is coming) and that awesome house dressing of yours; and specially your fries and Coke. I don't know why but I've never tasted a Coke as good as the one you provide in the Styrofoam cup that is hurtful to the environment. Let's not even go into the deliciousness that is your chocolate cake, if it's true that your secret ingredient is Mayo, I might as well just grab the whole jar and clog my arteries myself, but its so damn good. If I have a heart attack by the time I'm 40, I'll have it while eating your chopped salad with a side of fries, some chocolate cake and Coke. Keep doing what you're doing. Yours truly....

First off parking is a joke here. So I decided to give Portillo's another shot. My son and I ordered some food. My son got a hot dog and milkshake. I got a cheeseburger and a cup of soup. Wait about 10 minutes for the food. We sit down and open the bags. My son's hot dog did not come with fries ¿ I don't think I have ordered a hot dog anywhere and did not get fries. My soup was warm not hot, but it was not bad. I open my cheeseburger notice the cheese was not melted. After my first bite it was COLD! This place is overrated and way overpriced. Skip it!

Okay, so us Southern folk don't know much about Italian Beef, but I'm willing to learn. Since I could only eat here once during my Chicago visit, I decided to go with the Italian Beef/Sausage Combo sandwich, to which I added BOTH the hot peppers and the sweet peppers - what the heck - load it up, right?!?! Man, it was good. I told the cashier I was a "newbie", and to please make suggestions, but she never mentioned anything about serving my sandwich wet. I've read other Yelpers mention that, and I'm intrigued... The business description says this place serves beer and wine. WRONG! Beer only, and that is limited to Miller and Miller Lite. NO WINE... That's okay, the large goblet of beer was only three bucks which is a good deal! I also ordered the bowl of chili with cheese and onions. Very decent. I like this place. If we had one in Atlanta, I'd eat there pretty often.

I almost forget when out of the area that Portillo's is only a Chicagoland kind of thing. It's just one of those places you've been going to since you were a child. Great food, great atmosphere, great diner-style decor, and (occasionally) endearingly grumpy employees...this is fast food at its finest. Now someone get me a chocolate cake shake, stat.

Oh Portillos... it's been well over a year and I've missed you. I came back to Chicagoland for my baby shower and finally had my hot dog, tamale and cheese fries. I came up with the brilliant idea of going here after the festivities with a large group of mostly out-of-towners. It was a huge hit, just as I knew it would be. Delicious as always and this location was clean and filled with friendly staff.

MMM. Portillos. Great Burgers, Dogs, Beefs, Salads and Maxwell Polishes as good as Maxwell Street itself. Great greasy food joint - when you're wanting something along these lines.

The drive thru at this Portillo's needs help. Three bad experiences in a row at this location! Beware if you are expecting a proficient drive thru timeline because you could be waiting 20 minutes or more for the drive thru experience during slow times! Try any Portillo's other than this one, there are others without the hassle!

Best beef ever! We used to walk here on open lunch during high school. And during finals week I'd get a chocolate cake shake and cheese fries... best lunch ever. Everything I've had here is delicious. I'm partial to the beef'n'cheddar croissant and the rootbeer. The salads are also great, my fav is the garbage salad. The first time I brought my boyfriend here he ate two beef sandwiches, a chocolate cake shake and fries. He was in a food coma for about two hours. I also use it as bribery to get him to visit more often ;-) Anywho, even though it's uber busy during lunch, it moves fast and it's a fun people watching time. Beware the drive through though, it's best to avoid if there are long lines in it. Most of the time it's faster inside. Even with the drive through wait, I have no complaints, because patience is always rewarded with piping hot italian beef sandwiches.

4 stars only because parking is kind of a pain here... but otherwise, they're perfect. No... F the parking, 5 stars... I love this place like a mother loves its' child, but sexually. In high school, I dreamed of working here so I could dip my head, caramel apple style, into the vats of cheese and drink my way out. I never made that dream come true but the flame hasn't died. This place makes great fries, great cheese for the fries... if you've never had their cheese fries, don't start now... you'll be back everyday, waiting for their door to open so you can get more... it's like a disease. Anyway, the service is fantastic and the employees are all business... you won't catch them lazing off, gossiping, flirting, or anything... just straight up hard workers that make some bitchin' food. Thanks, Portillo's on 83! You're the tops. :)

We love this Portillos. Yes it's frequently crowded and there is a wait, but the food is worth it. I think they do the best they can-the staff always seems to be hustling. It's always hard to decide to go for the beef, the burgers, the hot dogs, or even the fish sandwich which is just about my favorite fish sandwich in the world! For New Year's Eve we "splurged" and ordered take out ribs for ourselves. It was a lot cheaper than going out with a lot less hassle. We have not had the ribs in years and they were well worth it. The sauce was plentiful and delicious and there was not a speck of waste. The meat was so tender and it just fell off the bone. The only reason I am not giving out 5 stars is for the packaging that Portillo's uses. It always seems so excessive and not very earth friendly. The styrofoam containers that the fish sandwiches come in always melt where it touches the fish patty and that transfers the taste of styrofoam to the fish. :( They put so many things into individual bags. It does seem to me that it could be condensed some. I even asked once if my sandwich could be wrapped in paper instead of the styrofoam, my request was ignored. However this does not stop us from coming back over and over for the yummy food!

Yummy and fast drive through for the amount of traffic they have. I had a delicious beef and cheddar croissant with sweet peppers and the strawberry shortcake. This is only my 2nd trip ever to a Portillo's but I am quickly becoming a fan.

Been coming here since it's original location, back when Dominick's was where Kohl's is, you know. You know the deal, I grew up in Chicago area, I grew up loving Portillo's. Great food and always a go-to place for when you're hungry and can't figure where to go.

Portillo's is a Chicago Hot Dog Joint on steroids. Take your normal joint and grow it by 1,000% and you have a typical Portillo's. They have all the good stuff: hot dogs (regular, jumbo, char), burgers & tamales plus salads ... no pizza or pasta ... and it is all good... I just miss feel of a "joint" ... Definitely a better taste and value the Donald or the King.

I rarely come here thought I love the food. Always a good spot to bring Chicagoland visitors. I enjoy the Italian beef..............Hot & Wet of course. I will get a sausage as a change of pace. Onion Rings are very good. Milk shakes (vanilla) are particularly tasty. I also enjoy the chopped salads. beer here if you want it

You can't go wrong at Portillo's. Everything is good! I got a burger and a chopped salad. Everything was great and I especially noticed that the cashier gals were really sweet - amazing how far service with a smile gets you. Just one thing I don't like about the establishment is that the only condiment/extra that is available for patrons is the ketchup so you have to bother someone for mustard or mayo or - whatever. Not a big deal though! Something weird, I went to one section to pick up my salad and the guy asked me what I ordered to drink. I explained that I ordered a burger too and that my drink would probably be on the other side where their burger/beef/hotdog pick-up is, and he said it was okay proceeded to pour me what I ordered. It was okay, a free drink for the person I was there with. But he asked me if I wanted a bag for my salad (since I asked for a lid to take it home) and I said no. Well, as I was walking out he came out of *nowhere* and asked if I was SURE I didn't want a bag to put the salad in. No dude, I'm cool ... just like before. Another odd thing happened. What looked like manager walked past our table and looked at me. Then he came back and said, "Alejandra? Alexandra?" I said ... "Um, no..." And he explained that he found a wallet but didn't have it on him and thought that it might be mine because we had the same glasses. Beyond odd! Anyway - aside from being slightly creeped out by some staff - I love their food!

I've always been a big fan of Portillo's cheeseburgers, fries, chocolate milkshakes. I have a friend that lives near this location, & I sometimes pick up dinner or lunch for us. I don't know what is going on, but the last 4 times, my cheeseburger, (and my friends), tasted like a bunch of salt was spilled into it. Yesterday for lunch, I ordered a cheeseburger with extra cheese & mayo only. God was it SALTY!!! I didn't finish it. 3 bites, & I was done. Really, really salty! I don't know if they're trying to preserve past due meat, or cover up bad meat, either way, that's all I taste, I'm disgusted & I can't go back there again.

I was in Chicago on business and needed a quick lunch. Yelp to the rescue! Ordered a Jumbo Chili Dog. The dog snapped on the first bite, as a good dog should. Chili was good and I like the poppy seed buns very much. Still, they haven't beaten my favorite hot dog joint, Carney's in Los Angeles. Fries, contrary to so many reviews here, were nothing to write home about. Not so different from the frozen crinkle fries you get at your local supermarket. One complaint was the large drink I ordered that had so much ice I got the equivalent of a small. Thankfully, the do refills! Not a huge fan of the 50s motif, but the place was absolutely spotless and the entire staff was friendly. Another big plus. This one's on my list for the future.

Welcome to Tastyville! I heart me some portillos but who the hell doesnt?! This one is one of my favorite ones becasue they are speedy and you dont wait in line all friggin day like you do at the Downers Grove one. The veggie selections are meger but I still eat there alot. I enjoy the cheese fries more then most things in life. I have a great veggie tip it may sound kind of gross and fat but you can order a veggie burger there is no veggie patty just everything on the hamburger except the meat I usually (hear comes the fat part) put fries on it for an extra special kick.I think they should put this on the menu and name it after me.The best part aside from the taste of this is the price they only charge you for a bun its like $1.10! You also can order a grilled chesse on a hamburger bun for like $1.30 hell ya! Oh if you are a veggie and you ever order the chopped salad no chick no bac or any other salad make sure you emphasise the importance of it being mixed in a new clean bowl otherwise you are almost 100% going to get a piece of chick or bac in your salad. I also recommend watching those mf ers because if your not looking they will "accidently forget"

Great service but they need to teach the kids behind the counter how not to insult someone. I asked if they made big beef combos and the kid said "yea but its a bit expensive something like $9.00 so not sure if you..." I cut him off there before the foot went any deeper in his mouth and told him I could handle $9.00. But overall great service!

Even though technically being fast food, to this day, I still have a hard time calling it that. Portillos, so many food choices, every one as delicious as the next. And the desserts, OH the DESSERTS! The BEST chocolate cake you'll ever taste, or if you'd prefer that in blended form, the 'death by chocolate' Cake Shake. Their ribs are superb. Their hotdogs, beef sandwiches, burgers, all excellent. And the atmosphere really is something else. Often a tad to noisy to eat in, but the collection of "themed" items and memorabilia is really a nice touch. Each Portillos restaurant has one of several 'decade themes'. The one complaint I have to make is the drive-thru. It is true that they often somehow wind up boggling the order. Most of the time it's small, but often if you don't check before you leave, you'll be shorted an item (my last encounter with this issue there was no bottle of water) and either have to return and deal with a manager who, while somewhat nice and accommodating , will be quite insistent that the staff NEVER makes mistakes. Regardless, Portillo's is great for lunch or dinner. And if you haven't had Portillo's...you are REALLY missing out.

Beef sandwiches (dipped pleas), polish sausages and EVERs (Chicago dogs with everything on it.) mmmmmmm mmmmmmm good. Too much for one sitting but you know when i visit I'll be oredering 1 of those three items. Unless it's summer- then I have a 4th to the list: Strawberry spinach salad. I love Nathan's hot dogs the best- this is what I buy for home, BUT you can't go wrong with Vienna beef. I also love the " cute, vintage" factor this place has. It's like a 50s diner. It calls to you from 83. I haven't tried the famous chocolate cake, but one day I will. Oh and the soup is also deeee-lish.

Being from the Eorth East, you could say I know a thing or two about hot dogs. In fact, I am originally from New York, which is the home of hot dogs. Coney Island, anyone? Being a damn Yankee (not a Yankee's fan, though), the only truly acceptable hot dog is a New York-style dog, AKA a dirty water dog. Bun, dog, spicy brown mustard. Even the concept of a "Chicago dog" is weird. But, since I was in Chicago for the week, I figured that I owed it to the city to give a "Chicago Dog" institution a try. As a kid from Long Island in the 80's, for those who remember the Westbury Nathan's restaurant at that time, Portillo's has a similar gaudy feel. An awful lot is going on inside, with tons of food options to choose from. The reality, though, is that there really is only one item on the menu - hot dogs. Sure, it's easy to be distracted by ribs and salads and tasty desserts, as you could be tempted by pizza or hamburgers at the Westbury Nathans. But you're here for a mission, and that mission is a Chicago dog. I have to say that, with all of the weirdness on the Portillo Dog (tomato, chopped onion, pickle, yellow mustard, little peppers), it really was rather good. The dog was appropriately meaty, although sadly without any kind of casing. The bun was appropriately proportioned, and the poppy seeds were a nice touch. Overall a good experience. I grabbed two of these and followed it up with a Polish sausage. The sausage was really strongly flavored, with a crusty skin and a squishy meaty inside, with some tasty grilled onions. I'm not sure I would get one again, as it's somewhat of a sensory and flavor overload. Overall this place rates a 4 only because I'm interested in going back to grab other items on the menu. I realize that it is somewhat sacrilegious, as a Nathan's' byproduct, to "run the menu" at a quintessential hot dog joint. Fortunately, Portillo's isn't Nathan's, so the hot dog gods shan't frown on me.

  • Katharine K.

The hot dogs, hamburgers, salads, and shakes are all very tasty. My only food-related complaint is the fries. Unlike a lot of other reviewers who seem to like them, I find them very salty... Won't stop me though from mooching a few from my family. Oh and I wish that they didn't use throw away containers for most dine in and takeout. I was excited tonight to see what at first I thought was cardboard packaging, but alas, it was beige Styrofoam. We only eat Portillo's occasionally so somehow that's how I get around my guilt.

  • Robyn T.

I think the kitchy dineresque decor makes the food taste that much better. From the minute you walk into the revolving doors (that are painted like songs in a jukebox) to the last bite of fries, it's hard to now succumb to the Portillo's fun 50's decor. I just love this sort of place and am instantly happy (OK, well almost always smiling - if there's a long line for my food I'm not going to be such a happy camper). Of course the hot dogs and Italian beef are great but what I really love here? The root beer...and the cheese fries. The fries are salty and hot and then dipped in that ooey, gooey cheese? You can't go wrong. Portillo's is a great place for larger groups because there is something for everyone (including lots of pasta and salad options too) and kids will love the decor...or the kids at heart...like me :)

I've lived in Elmhurst most of my life and grew up eating at this Portillo's. I have never gotten what the appeal is about this place. The hot dogs are nothing compared to Gene and Judes or Superdawg (or MANY other places). This particular location has a clusterf%&k for a parking lot and almost always messes up the order in some way. My sister ordered two plain hot dogs and they came without buns! What? I ordered a Polish sausage from there a couple weeks ago and it came on a poppy seed bun with everything they normally put on a hot dog. How do these people not know how to make a Polish sausage? It even says on their menu it comes with the standard grilled onions and mustard. Please, don't go here - any place is better - Mickey's on St. Charles Rd. or even Strat's on North Ave.

Tons of choices, the menu took up 3 walls. I got fries and a chocolate malt. The fries were excellent. They were perfectly salty, crisp, and delicious. The "chocolate" malt was nearly white with just a hint of tan. It wasn`t chocolatey. I asked the order-taker what the deal was and she just told me that that was how chocolate malts looked. Needless to say I was a bit miffed.

Classic Chicago hot dogs. No trip home is complete without a trip to Portillo's. This particular location is especially nice as it is reminiscent of 1950s-style diners. Classic. They also manger to include a separate salad bar addition. Their specialities include: hot dogs (obviously), Italian beef, and shakes. Order all of the above? Yes, please.

Nothing beats Portillo's Chicago style hotdogs, hamburgers, and Italian beef sandwiches. The restaurants ambience is compelling with a Chicago gangster type decor and lots of vintage antiques to look at while you eat. The service is incredibly fast and efficient. I have yet to find another fast food place that is so efficient at getting your order taken and the food to you even on extremely busy days. This is the gold quality food standard that I apply to all Seattle restaurants and I sadly I have not found its equal...

Fabio, the charismatic Italian, from the television show Top Chef (Bravo), once said that if a restaurant can do a good lunch business, they'll do just fine. Portillo's of Elmhurst does a ridiculously fast-paced and frenzied lunch service. During my thirty-minute dining experience, the whole place was packed, and must have turned over at least once. Not only were these maniacs keeping an entire dining room full of suburban Chicago land plus-sizes happy and sated, they were doing drive-through as well. Wholly crap. I was bowled over by the spectacle, shocked, flabbergasted. Damn Homey. More hectic than the eclectic (yeah I just did that) dining room was the staff itself. There must have been close to thirty people working the lunch service, from the bus boys, to the cooks. This place was packed both behind and in front of the counter. As far as food goes, I got some sort of soaked beef sandwich with a bunch of peppers on it. At the risk of offending everyone in the Chicago area, I will say that my sandwich's 'moistness,' while providing great flavor, played havoc with the bread. By the end of the meal, I was using my fingers to pick up the spare pieces of beef. The sandwich itself was tasty. Was it worth $6.00? Probably not. Will I ever go back to the Elmhurst Portillo's? Prrrrrrobably not.

Came back with larger pants to try more food. I had the Italian sausage, hot dog, and onion rings all in one sitting. Italian sausage is actually grilled to serve. It gives it extra crisp and juiciness to the sausage. It was seasoned perfectly topped with hot peppers for extra 35 cents all on a french roll. Less than $4 can fill you up. The hot dog was really good too. Chicago style of course on poppy seed bun. The hot dog was juicy and tasted like real meat and not mystery processed meat. Two thumbs up on that one. Onion rings. Crispy from beginning to end. Right amount of batter and onions in each bite. Heaven

I have eaten at many of Portillo's reataurants and I still don't see why they are always so packed. I am an Italian Beef nut and think theirs in kinda so so. I do say everything I have had there is good, but considering the very high prices they charge, I would rather go to a neighborhood place where I can usually get a better sandwich for a lot less money. The drive through does move people though very quickly, but they only get my order right about half the time. The store is usually clean and has nice decor. Just not my cup of tea. Yelp-On, -Dan

Chicago-land american hot dog/hamburger chain. They have two counters one for fast food and one for salads. I would recommend everything here. They have a large assortment of salads: chopped salad, chicken Casar salad, greek salad and many more. The milkshakes are delicious. Oh and the chocolate cake is great also.

  • Nicole L.

I think after reading the other reviews here, I'm definitely going to have to try the chocolate cake the next time I'm at a Portillo's! While I agree that the hamburgers are yummy, I almost always order a beef sandwich because Portillo's beef cannot be beat. Add some mozzarella cheese and hot peppers and that is one delicious sandwich. I'm practically drooling as I write this. Plus the fries are the best around, with or without being smothered in cheese. Oh yea, and the chocolate shakes are good too!

Everything I ever ate here was really good , from cheeseburgers to beefs. The hot dogs , really are great , the fries are crinkle , you gotta love that. I can't say that this place has my favorite version of anything , but everything I tried , they did it well. My wife ordered their chocolate cake as a work friends birthday cake by request , so I bet it's good , never tried it. They have grilled onions for the polishs , a major plus. It's good to know when in a strange area , I can go to Portillos and know I'm gonna get something good.

Dogs are tasty, beef is succulent; however, the ribs at any Portillo's are just basted with Open Pit Bbq sauce.

This is my favorite Portillo's. Why? Cause it's the closest to my house and looks waaaaaay better since the renovations. You can't go wrong with an Italian Beef DIPPED and a Chocolate Cake Shake. Also an order of onion rings. All I'm sayin is that this place serves my 'if i were to die and never come back to earth meal'. I LOVE YOU PORTILLO'S.

A real fifties throwback. The place is fashioned after an old-fashioned diner and the interior is decked out with all kinds of fifties memorabilia (the revolving door even has song titles stenciled on it in the style of the old jukebox cards - nice touch). I ordered the jumbo dog with everything, which includes hot peppers, tomatoes, mustard, and a big slice of kosher pickle sittin' on top - NO ketchup. It was SO good. I also had a big slice of chocolate cake for dessert. Again, amazing. The cake was light and moist, while the frosting was out of this world. Heaven!

Portillo's is the best place to go for delicious fast food! This location has a very busy drive thru at any time of the day or night, similar to the other locations. The hamburgers are incredibly juicy and mouth-watering. The hot dogs-classic. The salads are great for anyone trying to eat on the healthy side. The chopped salad is awesome and the chicken caesar is perfect. Don't forget to order some breadsticks! The chocolate malts are delightfully rich and creamy. The famous chocolate cake is to die for and the strawberry shortcake is just as good! The atmosphere inside is fun and very retro. Perfect for families with children-it's an experience. Unbeatable service and you will always walk out satisfied...and probably be back the next day!

Portillo's Hot Dogs has the best BBQ Ribs anywhere. My whole family thinks they are better than any other rib joint. We have eaten at a lot of rib joints. If you have never tried them, you are missing out on a really great meal!!!!!!!! P.S. The hot dogs and hamburgers are great too!

Everything under the sun from your normal Chicago dog to italian beef and sausage combination are fantastic. Soak your beef or have one of a large selection of salads, everything is quickly made to order and will have you coming back again and again.. and again.

The chocolate cake is to die for-but have you tried the chocolate cake SHAKE???!!!So yummy-and you don't have to wear out your massiter muscles by chewing-just happily slurp it down. The food is good at Portillo's as well. My fave is the Chopped salad-no bacon or chicken, with a grilled tuna steak instead! Try it!Only available during Lent,Portillo's has a good Pepper and Egg sandwich. You can get it on French Bread or a croissant. Be sure to get some giardinara on the side if you like it spicy

Portillo's has a decent hot dog, although I don't eat them much anymore, and if I was going to I'd make sure to go to Gene & Jude's for mine. But I give thumbs up to Portillo's chocolate cake! If I'm going to splurge on a dessert, you can't beat their chocolate cake anywhere! Now I'm a bit eccentric, as I don't really care for the cake part on a cake (although theirs is very moist and chocolately); I'm into frosting! And their frosting absolutely cannot be beat! You can buy this cake by the slice, or buy a whole cake for someone's birthday (or for a really decadent evening, how about some Veuve and cake?)

A smaller portillo's location with a 50s retro theme. I like the jukeboxes and the 1950's blue booths. You can get beer in a goblet. The malts are delicious. The food is too. I have always had prompt service and no disappointments here.
