We have ordered from here at least 15 times. Usually for delivery but sometimes we go pick it up, it is very quick and efficient. The delivery is always nice and quick and the food arrives hot. Delivery drivers are very friendly which is always a plus! The food is generally pretty good - I am a big fan of the tacos (soo yummy!) and we like their pizzas. Can't forget the broasted chicken!! There are other items (spiral mac & cheese, chili cheese fries) I have tried and would not order again, however you live and learn. Will keep ordering from DiLeo's!

When driving down Butterfield road one Friday evening I noticed a Vienna beef sign in the window of a pizzeria. I changed lanes, doubled back and soon found myself at Di Leos Pizzeria in Elmhurst. Upon walking in I noticed a few tables set up to eat at, an order counter, and a very busy staff behind the counter that were answering phones and preparing orders. I inquired about the advertised hot dog, paid and soon was sitting waiting to give this dog a try. The hot dog I received came on a classic poppy seed bun. The bun was soft and quite mushy and fell apart very shortly after I attempted to pick this hot dog up. This hot dog had a giant pickle spear on it. Two very thick sloppy wet tomato slices, about six hot dogs worth of sliced onions, cucumber slices, sport peppers, some other unidentifiable peppers, mustard and relish. Almost everything was applied in excess, as mentioned before almost immediately after picking this hot dog up it fell apart in my hands. I've never seen such a messy hot dog in my entire life. I did manage to consume it leaving a salad worth of condiments behind. While I can't comment on their pizza, the hot dog I received at Di Leos was quite frankly awful. Before biting into it I did manage to snap a picture, it's a beast. This is easily a one star hot dog, and as a result a one star review.

I have worked in Elmhurst for decades, and last night was the first time I have had food here. We've been missing out!! We had take out. The food is great, the portions generous and the price is right. I enjoyed the salad very much, with a lot of interesting additions, like hearts of palm and olives. Eggplant is something I don't make well, but they do! If you want Italian food without making it yourself, I recommend DiLeo's.

I can't believe this place only has 3.5 stars. The pizza here is amazing. People are rating this place based on hot dogs. Their pizza has some serious flavor. I always go easy on the cheese and have it cooked well done. I could have this awesomeness everyday. It's a family business and they are nice and friendly. My picture is a little dark, but this pizza is the business.

My work orders from this resturant quite often. The salads are good with alot of toppings, the spinach lasgna is outstanding, and the chicken has been spot on. Trust me we order from here alot whether its italian or the pizza, it has ALWAYS been consistent. Never cheap with their toppings especially the lasgna. They pile on alot! Thank you for making our work atmosphere better with your delicious food! Had the garlic bread also-YUM! Hands down, very good food and my coworkers all think the same since nothing is left afterwards!

The food is ok, pretty typical stuff... Their menu is possibly too large for them to focus on getting any one item to be amazing but the real issue is service. It has taken well over an hour and a half for me to get a delivery of something as basic as a pizza and salad, and they never give me the right salad dressing. It's not so bad I'm unwilling to ever eat the food there again, it's just irritating.

I just ordered from them and they DID NOT HONOR THEIR ADVERTISED PRICES on GrubHub. They ended up charging me $7 MORE than the prices on the order. I am extremely disappointed because I used to order from them regularly. I will not do it any longer. I don't recommend them at all.

DiLeo's has a nice local place with a neighborhood feel. I've gotten to know the owners and they are really nice. My mother has some dietary restrictions so they are great about preparing her orders exactly as she needs them, even if the are off menu. I am a really big fan of their broasted chicken and their Italian beef is also tasty. The food is good and the prices are reasonable.

I can't complain at all about the service. The owner lady was super nice. But, as my reviews go, I prefer to focus on the food. We ordered a pizza with Canadian bacon and pineapple. I know, I get hassled about it, but that's my favorite. Anyway, the pizza was a bit ... I would say ... soggy. I guess I've never heard anyone describe a pizza that way, but the middle of it just wasn't done. Don't say it's the pineapple, because I order pizzas this way all the time. In addition, and I don't know how to tactfully write this, but it had a funky aftertaste. It wasn't that bad, but I wouldn't order it again. On the other hand, I've been at friend's parties when they've catered from this restaurant and I thought the food was really good. So, my advice might be to try something other than the pizza and see if you like it. As of this writing there are ninety-six restaurants in Elmhurst. I plan on eating at, and reviewing, every one. Follow me on Yelp!

To start I must say, after I finished eating, I bolted straight to the bathroom.... To wash my hands and face, of course. I committed the unlawful sin of ordering a BBQ BEEF SANDWICH at a pizzeria, "that's not my bag, baby " - Austin Powers BBQ BEEF SANDWICH which came with a side of cold, soggy fries, a side of slaw, and a cup of bbq sauce in case you get thirsty, I guess. It came drenched in bbq sauce already so the only need for it would probably be as a beverage. If you order this, ask for a side of giardiniera or peppers. Stick with pizza.

Ordered take out from here through grubhub. The woman that delivered the food had an attitude. We order food at work all the time and no delivery person has been like that. She was complaining about our address and how she didn't know where to park and which doors to come through because I hadn't written that down anywhere. I mean I get it that would've been useful, but her attitude was inappropriate. The only reason why there's two stars is because I liked the lasagna.

Just moved into the area a few months ago. Saw a local place thinking let's give it a shot. What I received was terrible. Canned mushrooms? Really?!?! The sausage was greasy and had a weird texture. The sauce was absolutely disgusting. It tasted like tomato paste straight out of the can. I like a lot of cheese on my pizza, but there was so much that it was like a huge mass of rubber on top of it. I'm so sorry to say that I will not be returning to this place. The search shall continue.

I've had their chili with onions and chees - yummy The eggplant parmesan is delicious and served with a side of pasta, both ended up being several meals for me due to the generous portions. Their salad is excellent with olives, artichokes, tomatoes, etc. Tasty food, good portions, family owned business and perfect for take out.

My favorite delivery place in the area. The quality of the food and the portion sizes are always very satisfying. I especially love their eggplant Parmesan and garlic bread!

The quality and portion sizes of DiLeo's food are extremely satisfying! I attribute the consistently great taste to flavorful, fresh ingredients. This is the only place from which I have been and will be ordering delivery food, unless something drastically changes.

Pizza is average considering I live in Westchester; There is a lot of competition; The Tacos, Chicken Limon, Chicken vesuvio, chicken wings, cheese burgers, deli sandwiches, and fried mushrooms are absolutely amazing.

Di Leo's is take out, delivery, and catering only. I've been ordering from here for years and have never had anything bad. Pizza is great. I especially like their broasted chicken. Portions are large and price is reasonable. They deliver but I've never used that service. There is a wide variety of food on their menu. I would recommend you give them a try.

Dileo's is one of the most popular restaurants that our office caters from. There are so many options to choose from, and as the resident party planner for my team, we can always find options that will satisfy everyone. Many people love the pizza bread and the broasted chicken. Their pasta dishes are decent as well as the pizza. What I like most is their reasonable prices and they deliver, and that's why we continue to use Dileo's for many of our office events.

I've been looking for a place that served broasted chicken for a very long time and ran across Di Leo's. I soooooooo love their chicken and will be back for more :)

This was one of the worst pizzas I've had. I hate to say it, but... Puke. Three toppings of sausage, bacon, and black olives. Just bad. How can a pizza go so wrong?

I've lived in Elmhurst for the past 18 years, aka most of my life and I've only recently started frequenting Di Leos. Which makes me sad, because their food is amazing. My mom and I got one of the salads, which other reviewers have mentioned, the one with the artichokes, and palm, and olives, and it was amazing. It lasted for three days, which is pretty good considering how I eat leftovers. We also tried the baked mostaccioli which had plenty of cheese and a fantastic sauce. It also had the smaller noodles which was nice. You don't realize how much easier it is to spear the smaller noodles with your fork. Our favorite though, is the Anne Marie's special pizza. It has mozzarella, fresh tomatoes, garlic, oil, and lots of italian herbs. It is wonderful. DiLeos is now are go to pizza place whenever we want pizza or pasta.

Have been eating at di leos for over 10 years food quality has recently really declined. Had chicken tonite vey salty and they have changed there fries to a standard frozen crinkle cut. Chopped salad was loaded with onion. Had pizza 2 weeks ago and entire family thought it was worst they have had in awhile. Used to use them for catering parties. Won't be using them anymore. Not sure if owner ship has changed but quality of food sure has.

New to Elmhurst and told this was a must try. Have enjoyed their pizza and wings for pizza night at home. Then they really shinned for me when I needed them! We had friends with kids over for dinner. Ordered a variety of foods and we ate well family style. Also had a party with about 20-25 guests and again ordered Chicken, Pasta, Pizza, and Salad...each one was excellent. The chicken had great flavor. The pasta was not your boaring noodle and red sauce but was also well seasoned. The salad...WOW! and the pizza good also. They threw in a case of pop which is always a great thing on party night. I am so pleased with the help I received on the phone when ordering and the final product that they are now our party staple. My guest were well fed, happy, liked the food and all went home with left overs which they called to thank me for later. Well done Di Leos - thank you.

Just an update from my earlier review. We had Di Leo's cater our Christmas Dinner. Again, they hit it out of the park. This place is a true gem and the food was outstanding. We had the lasagna, pizza, beef, and chicken. We also had a large salad...and I have no idea what the previous review was talking about (Debbie J). The salad was fresh and all of the salami, vegetables and cheeses were absolutely wonderful. It couldn't have been more fresh. You have to try this place out....you will not be disappointed. You definitely will know you spent your hard earned cash at the right place. And, the owners and all of the employees cannot be nicer and any more accommodating. I have never had a bad experience here. But if the bad circumstance were ever to happen, I am sure it would be addressed and rectified with no troubles.

I recommend going on their site for coupons before coming in. I got a large 14" one topping thin crust, including a 6-pack all for $9.99? I hate to steal Payless' sale slogan from the mid 90's but, $9.99 are you outta your mind? Its located in a strip mall on the east side of the Jewel. At 12:30 on a Friday, there were a good 6-7 people occupying the 3 small tables, waiting for their food. Right away, I thought it was pretty kool to see the same big thick-haired guy and lady on their website in person. An older lady took my order and the whole time it felt like I was talking to my own aunt. And I really did get a family ran business vibe just from the looks of them in the kitchen, even if the family pictures from their ski trip on the left wall were a dead giveaway. 25 minutes later, my pizza was ready and off I went. I've patronized a lot of pizzeria's so I know a good pizza by its looks and this one looked pretty freakin good. The theory that a place with really cheap deals is also cheap in quality was proven wrong here. The crust was crispy, ever so slightly burnt in some places, cheese was thick and tasty and my bacon obviously wasn't from a container of Bac-O's, it was actually pretty thick and of premium quality. I'll be back next time I'm in town.

We went here for lunch and ordered the $5 double slice of peperoni and a 20oz soda. The deal is great but I am picky about my pizza and it just didn't meet my expectations. The people were nice though. The place is very small - it must be more for take-out/delivery.

I really hate to write this review because I've been ordering from DiLeo's for years. My late husband loved their broasted chicken and potatoes. Today I had a taste for ravioli and checked out the menus of two other nearby Italian restaurants. DiLeo's lured me in with garlic bread. I ordered cheese ravioli with marinara sauce. It was unlike any sauce I've ever had, almost like a weird salsa/paste - very chunky, very thick, very dry. It made the whole dish dry. I forced myself to eat about half, but couldn't go any further. The garlic bread that lured me in? That was also dry and was tossed. As someone else said, something is going on at DiLeo's. I hope for their sake they can correct it.

This place is seriously the bomb! Ive never had the pizza I always get their pasta and lasagna. Let me tell you everything is so fresh and good! I love the fact that the meals come with an AMAZING salad with all kinds of goodies in it - really that should be their claim to fame-di leos keep doing what your doing and dont get stingy with your salad yummies because that's what keeps me such a huge fan! Anyway, love their pasta and lasagna LOVE how they put fresh tomatoes on the lasagna it all tastes like it was actually made to order..not some left overs sitting in the kitchen all day. I highly recommend this place. DONT EVER CHANGE DILEOS - IT WOULD MAKE ME SAD :(

Extremely delicious food is made here! I have tried a lot of their meals before and my family always has them cater our family parties. So if you need to cater a party and want really really good flavorful Italian food you need to get it here!! My fam gets the catering special with salad, mostaccoli, fried chicken, garlic bread and pizza bread. We'll start with the salad its so fresh and loaded with tons o fresh veggies, so its not just your typical lettuce salad with some tomato thrown on top.Get the house Italian dressing it is to die for.The mostacolli is always al dente and the sauce is tasty and not to salty like a lot can be. Now I'm a veggie so I havent personally tried the chicken but I hear its Amazing!! The pizza bread is the best thing this place makes, everyone fights for it, theres never enough! The staff is super friendly and helpful. The one holiday I cant remember which they came in early just so we could get our food for the party. They defintily have earned these 5 stars!

I have been ordering from here for a while now and there service has just gone down hill. My delivery order took over 1 1/2 HOUR when I called I was told it was leaving now and they should be arriving any minute. 15 minutes later no food I called back and asked to speak to a manager and was told the driver was pulled over and they had to make the food over. When the food did get her the pizza was ICE COLD, the cheese was like rubber, and the fires were SOGGY! When i called back to talk to the manager I was told there was nothing they could do about it. The manager was rude and clearly could careless about my business. I will not be ordering from here again.

Very detailed menu with lots of variety. I always get friendly service even when they're busy. They make a great large salad with hearts of palm, artichoke hearts, and lots of olives. It's hard not to feel stuffed after a sandwich or pasta order. You can't really go wrong here. As the other reviewer noted, there are a couple tables if you need to plop down and eat on the spot, but 95% or more of their business is take-out. The place looks like it used to be a Little Caesar's. (Note: If you order delivery with a credit card, they want you to Present The Card when they arrive--which I don't like, and is annoying when you're not expecting to be asked for it, but I wouldn't deduct a star for that.)

I went to this place 3 times with my coworkers. The people there are very cordial and funny. They call me honey all the time, quite possibly due to my rugged good looks. The place is not the roomiest, it's got like... 2 stools and a table. They also sometimes mess up the orders, according to one of my coworkers. Anyways, on to the food...Like my women, I prefer my pizza to be cheep, easy, and oozing with cheese. Wait... I spelled cheap wrong. Sorry. Anyways, you can get a slice of pizza with the aforementioned qualities and it's also pretty huge and will definitely fill a brotha up. Or, in my case, a honey. My coworker got an Italian sub which, you would think because it has Italian in the name, and it's an Italian restaurant, then it would be good, right? RIGHT!? Well I guess it wasn't. Real Italian subs have a gratuitous amount of meat in it. This had like nothing, and was mostly vegetables. It even had some circley vegetable anomaly which we could not determine the species or origin. It was either artichoke hearts, or hearts of palm... Palm trees aren't even in Italy, so I considered this act moderate to highly blasphemous. It was a disaster sandwich. My other friend got a spaghetti thing which he said was good, and I'll use the honor system. I got the broasted chicken dinner...I didn't even know what broasted was, I thought it was some sweet amalgamation between baked and roasted. Well, it wasn't. It turns out it is just some patented process to fry food. In any case, it was still pretty boss save for the potatoes, which they burnt the crap out of. I guess you could have gotten corn instead. In retrospect of writing this, it would seem to the naked eye that I think fondly of this place... However, I think it's still a nice place w/charming people.. You just need to order the right stuff--I'll probably just play it safe and stick w/the pizza. Oh, I almost forgot something... They also gave us like a freaking six pack of pop, I have no idea why. I guess it's because we were doing takeout, so they just gave us a 6 pack of pop... Or maybe, again, it's due to my rugged good looks and natural charisma. Yeah, probably not.

Okay, I ordered the ribs and chicken combo one night while my fam was out of town, and I was soooo pleased! The fries were perfectly crispy, the chicken was moist and tasty, garlic bread awesome as usual. The ribs were sooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo goooooooooooooooooooood! I would definitely order the ribs here over and over again. Yum. The only tiny complaint I have is that sometimes it seems as thought the salad could be fresher. But I'm not gonna hate on that, the other food more than made up for the wilty salad. Freakin' awesome!!

Pizza

Pizza is a famous Italian dish savored around the world. The entire credit for the popularity of Pizza in the United States goes to the chain of pizzerias all over the country. While the base and the texture of Pizza remains same across the globe, it's the toppings that differs from country to country. In the United States, you will find the top pizzerias serving pizzas with the toppings of mainly beef, bacon, chicken, ham, and sausage for the non-vegetarians. Other than these famous meat options, Pizzas with veg toppings such as mushrooms, pepperonis, garlic, tomatoes, spinach, etc. are also famous in most restaurants in the United States.

Irrespective of your locality, you will find a variety of different restaurants in your cities offering pizzas of all different types. Pizza is hot favorite among people of all ages in the United States. A large size pizza is enough to feed a family of 3 or 4 at large. Pizza is also the most preferred food whenever a group of friends is hanging out together. Pizza gained popularity in the United States after the American soldiers stationed in Italy returned from World War II.

Over the years, different pizzerias in the United States have developed their own respective regional variations. Pizza gained popularity as the iconic dish in the United States in the second half of the 20th century. Whether you prefer thin or thick crust pizza, you can find a pizza of your preference at the best pizza restaurants in your city.

Italian Cuisine

The immense popularity of Italian cuisine globally isn't unknown. You can find an Italian Pizzeria around every corner of almost every city in the United States. Not to forget that in every house, people enjoy mac and cheese as comfort food. But it would be wrong to believe that Italian food starts with pizza and ends with good pasta as this Mediterranean country has much more to offer other than these two dishes. In Italian Cuisine, there is a high use of fresh tomatoes, all kinds of herbs, great quality of cheese, all types of meat, seafood and fresh handmade pasta. Many find it hard to believe that Italians have been making noodles long back.

Italian and Greek cuisines are always mistaken to be same, but they are poles apart. The primary difference between the two cuisines is the use of cheese in most of the Italian dishes. Italians love to cultivate their own cheese and process them as per their food requirement. It is believed that some cheese is so expensive that cheese producers secure them in lockers.

If you are bored eating the same old pasta or pizza, you can try some of the authentic Italian dishes like Risotto, Polenta, Ribollita, Lasagna, Fiorentina Steak, Bottarga, Ossobuco, Carbonara, Focaccia, Arancini and Supplì. Another item which Italians love to relish every morning is a good cup of Italian Coffee. Once you taste a freshly brewed cup of Italian Coffee, you might not visit Starbucks ever again. Authentic Italian food is made with heart and soul, so go find a restaurant where you can relish Italian cuisine in your city.
