Probably the most unfriendly baristas I've ever encountered at any Starbucks in the country. No joke. Glad I will likely not be in this area again any time soon or I would probably be annoyed on a regular basis.

I mean it's Starbucks. The coffee is pre-roasted months in advance so the coffee you are drinking is obviously not going to be at the same standards as a coffee shop that brews and serves coffee from local roasters (Kaldi's in St. Louis, for example.) The coffee isn't spit-it-out-of-your-mouth disgusting by any means, but it's not the best cup of joe you will ever drink. The food and pastries, again, are pre-prepared, frozen, and shipped. They are tasty, especially any of their number of pumpkin pastries, but they aren't "to die for" by any meaning of the phrase. The staff at this particular Starbucks in Edwardsville is wonderful, however. They are always on top of their game, and they are very speedy. Even better, they learn their customers' orders easily and quickly. It's hard to find corporate chains that make you feel like a regular, but the Starbucks in Edwardsville accomplishes this task. The one problem with this Starbucks, however, is that it is extremely small. Finding a table at which to sit and work or chat can be hit-or-miss especially during busy times. Starbucks has a good atmosphere if you are looking to study and a reliable cup of coffee. If you drink coffee, and you have yet to go to Starbucks then I am not sure what you're doing with your life. There are obviously better, local, coffee shops in the area, but Starbucks does it right when you're in a hurry or just stopping by,

Attn: coffee drinkers~ If you are rude or just feeling grumpy, ask to have your drink remade, or ask for beans to be ground when you are ordering at a busy drive thru, the fabulous people at Starbucks (and I'm sure many other coffee shops) will secretly switch your much needed caffeine for Decaf, when ever they feel like it. This morning, I had a child with the flu and had to order my beans at the drive thru, despite my knowledge of this. I got an unmarked brown bag of my ground "espresso", rudeness and a smirk as I pulled away. I also ordered a drink, which I'm sure was made Decaf as well. Yes, we all get busy sometimes, and I'm sure running the coffee drive thru during morning rush hour is mentally and physically draining. I'm sure it requires unique high intelligence that other regular people just don't understand. Sure, someone asks you to grind them some beans when you are busy making drinks. You don't want to stop and do that. You know, *your job*. But do not deny people their caffeine they are paying you for, because you are angry at your coffee life or feel like laughing at the expense of others with your fellow workers. People spend a lot of money on Starbucks coffee, I'm sure they wouldn't appreciate it if they learned you gave them Decaf on purpose. You don't know peoples lives, it's not your place to decide who gets real caffeine and who gets tricked. Give people the drink they ordered, do your job, period. They didn't know that I worked at Starbucks in New York for many years and I know all the inside secrets and coffee power trips. I smiled back, pulled away, parked my car and went in, sick child and all to exchange my unmarked, suspicious bag of coffee. I will say, the looks on their faces were completely worth the whole ordeal. The morning staff at this Starbucks is one of the rudest and uppity that I have ever encountered. But I will continue to buy my beans there, and I will do it through the drive thru in morning rush hour if I feel like it. That's their job, and I am a paying customer. Do not mess with this stay at home mom's much needed coffee.

It really catches me off guard when I swing by this location with about 30 other people in line most of the time, yet somehow the staff here is ALWAYS as nice and courteous as they can be. This is probably my favorite Starbucks around.

I know Starbucks is known for their coffee, but I love love love thier Spinach Feta Wrap!!! The coffee is pretty consistant from location to location, and I've noticed the staff is always super friendly. The Edwardsville location is no different. Good coffee. Good food. Friendly staff. = AWESOME.

This place has the best staff of ANY Starbucks anywhere in the world (and I've visited plenty!) Kudos to Janet and the rest of the AM crew - she might be the world's friendliest barista!

I have to write a review because the previous review says that this is probably one of the best places to eat or drink in Edwardsville, and that is just an appalling thing to say! This is just a Starbucks! It's the same as every other Starbucks! When you're there, you're nowhere in particular. The service is fast and friendly, the coffee tastes good, and the food is good for frozen, pre-made stuff of unknown and presumably distant origin. If you're in Edwardsville, go to Main St. and get locally roasted coffee at 222 or Sacred Grounds, unless you simply don't have time to leave Hwy. 159. There is simply no point in recommending a chain place that is utterly (notoriously) ubiquitous.

Thank you Starbucks for making my low carb Venti iced coffee PERFECTLY! I've been to a ton of Starbucks in the city of Chicago and not one has mastered my order. Shame I have to drive 5 hours for a good low carb coffee. This made the end of my weekend in Edwardsville. Thanks baristas at this location!

If you are looking for a quick drive thru experience...go somewhere else. It takes 10-15 minutes to get through theirs.

Please build a bigger Starbucks this one obviously cannot accommodate all the people in the drive-through are in the line in the building it is not adequate place to get your coffee. Very disappointed at this location, customer service, and accommodation for customer, will never be back

Dang---this is my 2nd Starbucks review- and I'd really rather not waste finger energy on a chain- but on this particular day, and this particular trip---something amazing happened. My son and I were in line in the drive through patiently awaiting his cake pop, and my caramel macchiato. When we got to the window, the girl complimented my jeep, then told us the people in front of us had paid for our drinks.... (say it all together now, awwwwwwwwwwwwwwww) So in good karma holiday fashion, Roman and I paid for the car behind us as well! PAY IT FORWARD! Even though the people behind me was double what mine was... ^-^ lol-- oh well... tis' the season right!? If you're reading this, the next time you're in a situation to pay it forward-- do it :) It'll feel great!

Friendly enough staff and good drinks, but the drive thru line is unbearably slow and the parking lot is set up in a way that makes it very difficult to walk in and out easily.

I love the fall season because places like Starbucks start rolling out there pumpkin flavored drinks. I orderd the pumpkin spice frappuccino and within minutes my drink was ready! I had to have them add so syrup because of the overwhelming taste of spices but it was very tasty. The prices are always to high at Starbucks but for some reason people and my self included pay it. I also like the fact that at this location there is outside seating available.

Good, FREE cup of coffee this visit (see my tip, via iPhone app), smiling server, and still $ left on my gift card. Entry and exit feel like my imaginary version of a loop on a Formula One race circuit, so be very careful.
