Probably my favorite desert bakery in the metro area. First, let me compliment their staff. They are always courteous, helpful, and knowledgable. Secondly, and most importantly, let me talk about the deserts. From cookies to cheesecakes to donuts this place has it all. My favorite being a tie between the chocolate chip cookies and the praline cheesecake. I would go here everyday and try something new if I didn't care about my clothes continuing to fit! Great all around spot.

This place is definitely magical! Been going there since they opened the doors and "never " been disappointed. Owners and staff must be angels, because the items they make are truly a taste of heaven!

I'm new to the area and this has become my go-to morning spot. Unpretentious and low-key, they serve smooth-tasting Breve coffee. I'm partial to the vanilla long johns, Danish, and chocolate nut cookies. Outdoor benches are a nice touch.

If you really want to be sent to Heaven, order a dozen of the remarkable and untouchable Macaroons. They are slightly crispy on the outside, rendering the coconut sweetly toasted, and soft on the inside, with a chewy consistency that I cannot replicate at home. They don't have them usually, so DO CALL AHEAD, because you do NOT want to die without tasting these first. Bucket list macaroons. Seriously. (I freeze an extra dozen in a ziploc bag, and dole them out sparingly to myself.... the toaster oven renders them as fresh as the day I buy them.)

This is a quaint local bakery with delicious cookies, doughnuts and cheesecake. I try to restrain myself to a once a week visit, but their cookies call my name more regularly and it's only a few blocks from my work making my resistance futile. We order a cheesecake every year for Thanksgiving. The cheesecake is light and not overly rich and comes in a variety of flavors. Had their cake and iced sugar cookies at a friend's bday party last week and would definitely order for a celebration--they almost look too good to eat. Little Taste of Heaven is a neighborhood gem. They do a nice job with their window decor and signs too!

My coworkers and I have decided that we are going to do a bakery crawl every Wednesday. This week crawl for me at A Little Taste of Heaven. This place is right off of Main St in Edwardsville, IL. This is a grab and go place. Parking lot across the street. The bakery boasts chairs but only in their front window. The owners greet the customers and it is a quick grab and go. Today we tried the cookies, They had four different kinds in the case, and after I got my order and man walked in and asked for the cookies that they were famous for, just my luck they were coming out of the oven. They are a triple(yes triple) chocolate cookie. I selected the Blueberry Almond cookie, it was chocked full of blueberries, I almost did not feel guilty eating it because it had two super foods (blueberry and almonds). We also got the chocolate chip, this was a little crusty, I am sure it would be a good dunking cookie, but I only dunk basketballs not cookies. Finally we got the oatmeal raisin. It was a nice cookie, but I think my recipe is better. The place lives up to its name... Bonus, they do sell coffee to go...No almond milk though.

I was finishing a bike ride in the area when I noticed this place across the street. I crossed and saw they were open till 1pm. I had maybe 3 minutes. I dashed inside and it smelled like a bakery should. The display cases were slightly bare but what would one expect when walking in at closing time? A young man came out from the back to help me with my order. There was no rush, no panic to close RIGHT NOW. He took the time to explain what they had, what they were known for, and what he would recommend in order for me to be enticed to return. I left with oreo truffles, cookies, cheesecake bites, and gooey butter bars. When I got home I shared it with the family. There was no disappointment in and of my choices, maybe that I didn't bring enough back, but the flavors and textures were appreciated by everyone who sampled. It will be a stop when I am in the area again!

We haven't been disappointed. Great pastries, doughnuts, cookies, cupcakes & even biscuits & gravy!! Everything we've had has been delicious. They make their own cheesecake & take orders for them as well. We always get their biscuits & gravy, chocolate chip cookies, Danish, apple fritter, gooey butter cake (if we get there in time) & a few doughnuts. Always delicious & always friendly. Nice little vintage feel to the store. Just a brief walk off Main Street.

A.S.- For shame. 1. Yelp is a review for services and businesses...not an open forum to vent your ill wills. You parked in a private lot and did not use this establishment yourself. Besides that being a legal form of trespassing, you cannot write a review for a business you have never visited. At least have the decency (or those good ol' fashioned Christian values) to be honest with your statements not publishing gossip and heresy. 2. Attempting, on a public space, to take down a local business (promoting a national strip mall chain?) for spite is wrong in itself...and no amount of praying will make that less so. I grew up in Edwardsville and am a huge fan of supporting local businesses -- this is what makes our small town so wonderful. Do not attempt to throw local business away to chain restaurants who have just build their "bakery" on some of the last green spaces we have left. 3. Why would they offer a coupon for someone that is slandering their name and trespassing on their property? 4. "A fighterfighter or something? The owner was the former Edwardsville Fire Captain and you should have more respect for those people who are protecting and serving our town. Any person who is willing to die for my protection is worth more than "or something." REVIEW: 5. The cheesecakes are amazing here. I love them so much I am having the owner make mini cheesecakes, brownie bites and fruit tarts at my upcoming wedding. He is extremely affordable and I feel 100% confident about how my 200+ guests will enjoy my dessert selection. He is fair in delivery arrangements and has walked me through a whole slew of options for my big day. Extremely professional. I will post photos after June!!

In one of my fantasies, I take fellow yelpers on a blindfolded, early morning "café crawl." Since all good bartenders are blissfully sleeping, we turn to the baristas for liquid comfort. My yelpers think we are somewhere in St. Louis, but, in fact, we are sipping lattes made from Goshen Coffee at Artisan 222. Just around the corner, and two blocks away, our limo driver pulls up in front of "A Little Taste of Heaven." "Skip the cinnamon rolls," I say. "Here," handing over fruit-filled squares, "put a pastry ($1.25) in your pocket for a mid-morning snack." "Now, the pièce de résistance," I say, as I guide plates of creamy goodness into the hands of my breakfast companions, "Have a slice of cheesecake" ($2.50). I've selected one topped with Heath Bar shavings." "This is the kind of treat that can keep your spirits up through a long, cold winter. It has carbohydrates, right? And the 'cheese' part has protein, don't you think? Surely it qualifies as one healthy breakfast component among many on John H's early morning café crawl." "And, NO, you're NOT in St. Louis," I insist. "You are experiencing a delicious irony. You're having 'A Little Taste of Heaven.' But, be very afraid. Because you're also in the heart of 'E'ville'." Maniacal laugh: "Bahahahahaha!"
